Four Rivers Baseball Tourney Recap

The Four Rivers Conference teams opened up their seasons with a tournament. They played the first two rounds from Mar. 15-16 and the final on Wednesday, Mar. 20.

Union clinched the conference title, with Sullivan finishing second, Pacific landing third, St. Clair taking fourth, Owensville placing fifth, St. James finishing sixth, Hermann in seventh, and New Haven rounding out the rankings.

In the opening two games at the 4 p.m. slot, Pacific dismantled New Haven with a 15-0 sweep, and St. Clair edged out Hermann 16-14 in a high-scoring battle. Then, in the following matchups, Sullivan beat St. James 10-4, while Union dominated Owensville with a 10-0 win.

During the second round, Sullivan survived Pacific in a 4-2 win, St. James defeated New Haven 6-1, Union shut out St. Clair 15-0 and Owensville beat Hermann 5-1.

In the conference championship on Wednesday, Mar. 20, Union steamrolled Sullivan 14-4. Pacific defeated St. Clair 6-0 in the 3rd-place matchup, Owensville swept St. James 15-1 in the consolation round and Hermann took down New Haven 15-0 in the 7th-place game.
