New Haven Falls 19-1 To St. Clair

The Bulldogs (2-6) had the final bite against the Shamrocks (2-5), defeating them 19-1 on Friday, Apr. 5. The game ended after the bottom of the 3rd due to the mercy rule.

Michael McFerrin was the only Shamrock to make it home and did so during the bottom of the second on Trevor Hinten’s grounder. McFerrin also had a team-high two hits.

Hinten drove in an RBI and a hit.

Jacob Gerdes collected a hit and a walk.

Steinbeck and Wiedemann each made a walk.

Lueckenhoff got a hit.

The Shamrocks’ batting lineup recorded six hits, a run and a hit on 14 at-bat appearances.

New Haven’s pitching rotation struck out four while giving up 12 hits, 11 earned runs and six walks.

Gerdes was first on the mound for the Shamrocks. He surrendered four hits, two earned runs and a walk.

McFerrin came in for relief and allowed four earned runs and three walks.

Lueckenhoff was New Haven’s pitcher for the final two innings. He executed four strikeouts while giving up eight hits, six earned runs, and two walks.
