New Haven Girls Win First And Third At Show-Me State Games
The Show-Me State Games, a statewide amateur sports festival which welcomes all Missourians regardless of age or ability, were cancelled last year alongside many other public events. This year, everyone was thrilled to have the games back in action. A non-profit program started in 1984 by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health and hosted by the University of Missouri, the Show-Me State Games aim to provide top-quality amateur competition in a wide range of activities. Upcoming events for the 2021 season are scheduled on July 23-25.
During the July 16-18 weekend, New Haven saw some local young Shamrocks take home awards. For 8th grade basketball, Sophia Otten’s team won first place and Tatum Scheer’s team won third. Younger sister Taylor Scheer’s team took first place for the 6th grade girls. All are part of the Knights Academy. Congratulations, ladies!
