Franklin County reported Thursday morning that six new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed, the largest daily increase since the pandemic began.
Protesters demonstrated on Tuesday outside the historic courthouse in Union as a response to the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week.
Franklin County on Tuesday reported one new case of COVID-19 and the 17th death related to the virus.
A 94-year-old Union woman has been identified as the latest fatality.
Franklin County on Monday reported an additional case of COVID-19, bringing the number of active cases to 15.
The patient has been identified as a 52-year-old Union woman.
Franklin County said Friday morning there are no changes to its COVID-19 numbers.
There are still 14 active cases with nine in skilled nursing facilities and five residing elsewhere.
