Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche just set the record straight on the "friction" between the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department as Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing.

On Wednesday, May 6, Blanche spoke to NewsNation about FBI Director Kash Patel's bold claims about the PCSD, led by Sheriff Chris Nanos, more than three months after the 84-year-old was abducted in Tucson, Ariz.

“The FBI has worked closely since the day that this happened with the local law enforcement,” Blanche told NewsNation. "And there have been reports of friction; I’ve seen those reports."

He continued, “We are here to help. And the FBI, President Trump, authorized and directed us to do everything we can to help in that investigation.”

Additionally, he said the FBI offered to analyze the DNA samples, but that the PCSD decided to send them to a lab in Florida.

“We would have analyzed it within days and maybe gotten better information or more information,” Patel told Fox host Sean Hannity. “Our lab’s just better than any other private lab out there. And we didn’t get a chance to do that, so I understand everybody’s frustrations.”

On May 5, Patel appeared on Hang Out With Sean Hannity, during which he claimed, "For four days, we were kept out of the investigation."

The FBI director also alleged that it was his bureau that obtained the video and stills of the masked suspect on the 84-year-old’s front porch. “We could have gotten that days before,” Patel said. “We could have also maybe gotten more data had we been let in earlier.”

Finally, Patel claimed that the FBI offered to process DNA samples from Nancy's home, but the PCSD sent them to a private lab in Florida instead.

“We would have analyzed it within days and maybe gotten better information or more information,” he told Fox host Sean Hannity. “Our lab’s just better than any other private lab out there. And we didn’t get a chance to do that, so I understand everybody’s frustrations.”

The PCSD issued a direct response to Patel's comments that same day. Meanwhile, Savannah's mother remains missing, and no suspects have been named.

Fans got to know Amber as an always-outspoken young woman who was trying her best to navigate a challenging situation. Of course, she had her then-boyfriend, Gary Shirely, by her side as she welcomed their infant daughter, Leah. 

Warning! Get ready to feel old. Leah will celebrate her 18th birthday this coming November. Like many of the cast’s children, Leah is now older than her mom was when she started the show. And judging by her recent prom pics, she’s living her best life.

Earlier this week, Leah took to Instagram, sharing a carousel of sweet snapshots with the caption “Prom 2026!” While fans might remember her earlier years, the toddler is now a teen. Portwood’s eldest child (she also has a son, James Andrew Glennon, with ex-husband Andrew Glennon) absolutely shines in a dazzling deep-red gown with shimmering accents. 

Leah’s dad, Gary Shirley, commented on the pics, writing, “Leah you are so beautiful, I love being your dad.” Aww! One fan chimed in, adding, “Stunning! You’re such a beautiful young woman, Leah. All your Internet aunties are so proud of you.”

Amber and Gary’s tumultuous relationship was filled with very public ups and downs. Portwood lost custody of her daughter in 2011. Leah now lives full-time with her dad and stepmother, Kristina Shirley. Gary and Kristina married in 2015. The pair have another daughter, Emillee, who was born in the same year.

This certified classic has influenced the American public for generations. Seventy-nine years ago today, The Grapes of Wrath was recognized for its cultural impact.

On May 6, 1940, JohnSteinbeck’s book received the Pulitzer Prize in the Novel category (renamed Fiction in 1947).

It was an immediate hit, selling over 400,000 copies in the first year of publication. Critics wrote rave reviews. A 1939 review from The New York Times called it “a magnificent novel of America.”

Today, over 15 million copies of The Grapes of Wrath have been sold.

The story functions as a social commentary addressing themes of injustice and human resilience. Almost eighty years later, The Grapes of Wrath continues to resonate with audiences. It was ranked one of the greatest books of all time by The Greatest Books.

The bestselling work follows the Joad family of Oklahoma after they lose their farm during the Great Depression. They travel to California in pursuit of a better life. Instead, the fictional family finds harsh working conditions and exploitation.

Steinbeck’s novel was adapted into a critically acclaimed film with the same title. The 1940 release earned two Academy Awards and seven nominations. It was directed by JohnFord and starred HenryFonda.

Although fictional, The Grapes of Wrath was inspired by Steinbeck’s firsthand experiences.

The author grew up in the agricultural region of the Salinas Valley. As an adult, he began working as a journalist and covered migrant labor camps in the area. In October 1936, he wrote a seven-article series on the topic for The San Francisco News. It covered the difficult working conditions that migrant farm workers faced. Many of them were Dust Bowl refugees and suffered exploitation. His reporting greatly impacted The Grapes of Wrath.

Steinbeck’s writing career spanned almost four decades. He was a celebrated author, winning awards such as the ​Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962, “for his realistic and imaginative writings, combining as they do sympathetic humour and keen social perception."

Some of Steinbeck’s best-known novels are Of Mice and Men (1937), Cannery Row (1945), and East of Eden (1952).

"Do or do not, there is no try"—and that’s exactly what Bath & Body Works did with their new line of products. We just got a sneak peek at their Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu collection, and it’ll make even the stingiest bounty hunter jealous. If you’re a fan of Mando, Grogu or even Star Wars in general, this line will have something that you’ll like. Bath & Body Works sent Parade some of the items from the launch, and as a lifelong Star Wars fan, I’m happy with it—even (maybe especially?) down to the packaging.  

As a BBW press release said, the “collection brings two of Star Wars' most recognizable characters into the world of fragrance.” Of course, they’re referring to Mando (aka Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda, for the uninitiated out there). The line is perfectly timed to the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, coming to theaters on May 22, so it is really geared towards fans of that series and those two characters. But the novelty and detail that went into the accessories, home items and packaging are enough for many die-hard fans of the franchise, too.

Our 9 Favorite Products in the New Bath & Body Works x ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Collection1. Force Flow Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

First up, this Force Flow scent comes in an Ultimate Hydration Body Cream, which is an iconic product from Bath & Body Works. Like the other versions of this cream, it's silky, goes on thick and is easy to rub into your skin for a really good moisturizing finish.

As mentioned above, the fragrance notes include “green apple, salted lavender and cosmic sage.” And as someone who loves musky, woody fragrances, the sage comes across so nicely, making the sweetness of the apple a little more muted (and in my opinion more wearable).

The lavender gives it a nice, fresh scent, making this overall not super musky and not super floral or sweet. This truly is the definition of a gender-neutral scent (though I can see it leaning more feminine to some, though not necessarily to me).

2. Force Flow 3-in-1 Hair, Face & Body Wash

I have shared in the past with these Bath & Body Works drops that I am not a fan of a 3-in-1 wash of any kind. But the consistency of this one is great if you just want to use it as a body wash (which is what I will definitely be using it as). It feels just like their regular body washes, and I can imagine that it will provide you with a great scent that lasts long after you step out of the shower, just like their other washes do.

As for the fragrance, in this body wash form, the apple comes out a lot more than the sage or lavender. But, thanks to those fragrances, it's still not an autumnal or super-sweet apple, but more of a perfumey one.

3. Force Flow 3-Wick Candle

I am a sucker for a musky candle that gives off the vibes of BBW's Mahogany Teakwood and Bookloft, and this one is definitely in that category. Similar to how Force Flow smells in the body cream, the candle version of it is very woody and musky. But I do think it's slightly more muted than a Mahogany Teakwood, thanks to the apple, so if that's usually too much for you, this Force Flow candle could be a happy medium.

4. Grogu Coin Purse

I am a massive fan of all things Grogu, and this coin purse is no different. It's a bit thin to accommodate Baby Yoda's long ears, but you can still fit some coins, cash, cards and lip glosses in here. It really captures his adorable little face, too. It has a carabiner clip to attach it to things, along with the Clan Mudhorn symbol on a keychain attached to it.

5. Bounty Hunter Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

As we mentioned before, the fragrance notes on this one include “Beskar sea salt, solar woods and protective patchouli.” Between Force Flow and Bounty Hunter, this one is a little more masculine, with the sea salt and woods giving it a nice musky scent.

This one leans into the woody scent more, as you can imagine, but it's still not overwhelming. And in this Ultimate Hydration Body Cream product, you and/or the men in your life can have smooth, moisturized skin while smelling like Mando (or what we can imagine he smells like).

6. Bounty Hunter Gentle & Clean Foaming Hand Soap

In the hand soap foam, this musky scent gets even spicier, thanks to the fact that the patchouli comes through more. It's definitely not something that is too strong to go in the bathroom your guests use, and it's a pleasant smell overall. A real crowdpleaser, this one is.

7. Bounty Hunter Body Spray

I actually loved this smell in body spray format more than I thought I would. It smells like something familiar that I associate with my trips to Greece, like a sort of island or beachy smell, but nothing tropical. It's rugged and yet still can be worn with a more feminine vibe if you want. It's a men's body spray, but it's not too overly masculine or too overwhelming in general. Overall, a very pleasant scent and one I can't wait to have my fiancée wear.

8. Grogu Loofa

This is a fun one! A sage green loofa is already a really pleasant sight for me (one of my favorite colors). And then you add in the Grogu ears, and you get maybe one of the best items in this drop, just for its cuteness alone. The long Baby Yoda ears are made with a terry material, so you can use the full loofa to clean yourself.

9. Force Flow Cologne

The bottle for this Force Flow cologne is hefty and larger than I realized, definitely resembling an apple. But even in this form, the apple scent doesn't come out too much (though it's there!). The lavender shows up the most in this form, though. Which, to me, I think changes the fragrance a bit, but to something that's still pretty fresh, clean and still a bit woody.

Overall, this cologne still comes off gender-neutral, which is good for me, a woman who loves her musky fragrances. And the nice thing about perfumes is that everybody's own natural smells mix with them so that the same scent sits differently on different people. So it's worth trying out if you like a musky scent with a bit of apple and lavender. (Or if you just love Mando and Grogu, it's worth it for this gorgeous tin it comes in.)

Justin Hartley is not willing to let anyone come between him and his wife, Sofia Pernas.

The Tracker star, 49, opened up about his marriage to the actress, 36, during the Tuesday, May 5, episode of the “I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario” podcast.

“People write songs about [this kind of love], people talk about it, and I think you want to believe that everyone has that in their life, that everyone gets to a point where they meet their soulmate or whatever you want to call it,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that I think a lot of people don’t, and that’s sad.”

He added, “When you do have it, you got to just hold on to it. It’s so special and fragile, in some ways, and rare, unfortunately. She’s everything, she’s fantastic.”

Hartley then shared some advice he once received from his stepfather about recognizing the impact outside voices can have on a relationship.  

“[My stepdad] said to me a long, long time ago, ‘You got to take care of your relationship and be very protective of who you surround yourself with and what relationships you surround yourself with,’” he recalled. “When you find the person [for you], there will be people in your life that you think are your friends and they simply cannot handle your relationship. They can’t handle it.”

While Hartley doesn’t think naysayers are necessarily “trying to sabotage” couples like himself and Pernas, he pointed out the potential consequences.

“They’re not bad people,” he explained. “They just can’t handle it. And you don’t need to be hearing [the negative comments]. I’m not saying that you should be surrounded by sycophants and that’s healthy. But there’s certainly a difference between someone rooting for your love and rooting for your relationship and rooting for you and someone that’s just kind of in a way jealous of what you have.”

Hartley and Pernas met while starring together on The Young and the Restless in 2015 and remained friends after both exiting the CBS soap opera. The pair were romantically linked in 2020 and quietly tied the knot the following year.

Prior to his relationship with Pernas, Hartley was married to Lindsay Korman from 2004 to 2012 and Chrishell Stause from 2017 to 2021. He and Korman share daughter Isabella, 21.

Beans, psychedelics, pinball — few movies capture the chaos of 1970s rock and roll quite like Tommy. Adapted for the big screen from The Who’s blockbuster 1969 album of the same name, Ken Russell’s jukebox musical has its high-concept themes — religion, capitalism, exploitation — but really, it’s the wildest film of the decade and, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, the best rock movie of 1975.

“In adapting The Who's rock opera for the big screen, director Ken Russell created a tighter plot than the one found on the album — through some new songs by Pete Townshend and re-ordering of the existing ones,” UCR writes. “Although Russell's approach to the visuals turned it into overblown camp, it’s nonetheless a spectacle to watch.”

Released in March 1975, Tommy was unlike anything moviegoers had ever seen or would see again — well, until September when The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released. Translating Townshend’s original album for the big screen, the film follows the journey of a man from deaf, blind, and mute pinball superstar to reluctant cult messiah. Fame, worship, celebrity, and manipulation are all explored, while a soundtrack featuring the film’s rock star cast sounds off.

Roger Daltrey, The Who’s frontman, stars as the titular character. He’s supported by Elton John as the Pinball Wizard, Tina Turneras the Acid Queen, Eric Clapton as The Preacher, Jack Nicholson as The Specialist, and Ann-Margret as Nora Walker, Tommy’s glamorous and dramatic mother. With explosive interpretations of The Who’s songs, standouts include “Pinball Wizard,” performed by John; “The Acid Queen,” performed by Turner; and “See Me, Feel Me,” performed by Daltrey.

Fans of the film will tell you that even wilder than Turner and her drug-filled syringes and John in his platform Doc Martens is the scene involving Ann-Margret and gallons of baked beans. The scene begins with the actress dancing around an all-white bedroom with a bottle of bubbly, belting out a cover of “Champagne,” then ends with the beauty riding waves of gushing baked beans. It’s a chaotic scene that actually sent the star to the hospital. 

“When I threw the champagne bottle at the TV set, it really smashed,” she recalled in a 2011 interview with Entertainment Weekly, explaining how she accidentally got cut during filming. “So they took me away, put loads of towels on me. And here I come into the hospital, looking like a drowned person in this silver knit shrinking catsuit with blood all over. There were 27 stitches.”

Rolling around in a side dish has its perks: The role scored the actress an Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win. The film was also a success at the box office, making an estimated $35 million against a $5 million budget. But for Tommy creator Townshend, the film’s massive cultural impact came with more complicated feelings. 

In a 2013 Rolling Stone interview, he revealed, “I didn’t ever realize the difference between being what you would call a film star and a rock star. It was enormously different. It was very hard to deal with for a year or two after that. … It was just crazy. People just treat you so differently.” He added, “[People] would call me Tommy, and it would really get on my tits.”

The FDA has issued a recall for thousands of cases of milk across several states due to the potential cause of “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.” 

Over 3,500 cases of Horizon Organic Chocolate Organic Lowfat Milk have been recalled because of a packaging issue, with the government agency stating that the packaging integrity of the carton is compromised, reports Allrecipes. Though the product was initially recalled by the company on March 11, the FDA issued a Class II recall on May 5, stating that consumption of the recalled product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

The affected cartons of milk were distributed in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Oregon. They were sold in either six or 18-packs with item number 136518, best by dates of August 14 and 15, 2026, and a UPC code of 742365004322 on the carton, and a UPC code of 742365004322 on the case. Other products from the company are not affected. 

This recall is on the heels of another from a2 Milk Company, which issued a voluntary recall of three batches of its imported a2 Platinum Premium USA label infant formula for children ages 0 to 12 months.

The formula was recalled due to the presence of cereulide, a heat-stable toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. Preparing the formula with hot water does not eliminate it, a2 Milk Company said in a statement.

The batch numbers and expiration dates of the a2 milk-based powder with iron, which can be found on the bottom of the 31.7-ounce tin, are:

NCIS paid tribute to Rif Hutton with a tribute at the end of the May 5 episode—but who is he, and what happened to him?

On Tuesday's episode of the CBS drama, the show honored Hutton, who appeared in two episodes before his death. Let's take a closer look at his participation in NCIS and his cause of death.

NCIS Paid Tribute to Rif Hutton on May 5

At the end of the May 5 episode of NCIS, a title card read, "In memory of our friend and colleague Rif Hutton. We will miss you."

Hutton appeared in two episodes of NCIS—one in Season 16 and another in Season 19—in addition to appearing in an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 in 2022.

Rif Hutton Died in April 2026: What Was His Cause of Death?

Hutton died in April 18, 2026, after a year-long battle with glioblastoma. He was 73.

On Facebook, his friend, voice actor Steve Apostolina, wrote a touching tribute to Hutton in the wake of his death. "A remarkable human being has left this earthly plane," Apostolina wrote. "To say that Rif Hutton was one of a kind is a gross understatement."

Additionally, he called Hutton a "legend" in the voiceover community and overall leader.

"People knew when they hired him for a voice job that he was going to be the most prepared—he always was," Apostolina shared. "He was also always first to show up on a gig—I had the great pleasure of beating him a few times and scooping a treasured chair, but those were few and far between."

To conclude the tribute, he declared, "Rif Hutton was a man of action. He inspired so many and leaves behind a legion of loyal admirers—people who loved him. Stories of his generosity would blow your mind. F--k cancer in general, but in particular glioblastoma. I was lucky to cross his path and I am a better person for knowing him."

In addition to his stints on NCIS, Hutton played Lenny Caulfield in General Hospital and had acting credits in other TV shows like Doogie Howser, M.D, JAG, The Rookie: Feds, American Horror Story, SEAL Team, Truth Be Told, and more. Film-wise, he did voice work in Hotel Transylvania and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive Smith, a PhD student at Stanford University who is desperate to convince her best friend, Anh, that she's over her ex and thriving in the dating scene. In order to accomplish this, Olive pretends she's dating her biology professor, Dr. Adam Carlsen, who agrees to the scenario in order to convince the University that he fully intends on keeping his position. Along the way the feelings they were faking turn into something the scientists don't need a microscope to see.

Hazelwood (a pseudonym for the former professor and neuroscientist herself!) describes her work as "contemporary romcom novels about women in STEM and academia." She originally wrote the story that would become The Love Hypothesis on AO3 (or Archive of Our Own) as Kylo Ren and Rey fanfiction. The fanfic garnered the attention of a literary agent in 2020, who helped Hazelwood shape the novel into her first work of traditional romantic fiction. The Love Hypothesis was a smash success and spent 40 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.

In 2025, it was announced that Lily Reinhart and Tom Bateman will star in the film version of the beloved love story. Filming wrapped in the summer of that same year.

For multiple generations now, my family has been obsessed with my Grandma Alice's rich 50-year-old bread pudding recipe. The comforting, wintery treat that originated in her own kitchen was passed to my mother, and by the time it became a staple in my rotation, I began to make some subtle changes that make it even better (in my humble opinion!).

With just a few tweaks, the original recipe has been lightened up through the years—transforming it into a year-round dessert that works for a holiday meal or weekend brunch. This family recipe uses a combination of stale bread soaked in milk and cream to make a bread pudding with lemon zest and summer berries for the spring and summer months, and with warmer ingredients like cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin spice for fall and winter months.

So, here's how to make my family's bread pudding. In just a couple of hours, you'll have a delicious dessert that will likely also get passed down from generation-to-generation in your own home.

What Makes My Family's 50-Year-Old Bread Pudding Recipe Different

Our family always has some kind of leftover bread from last night’s dinner and with a few simple steps, it becomes a dessert of French-toast flavor meets bread pudding.

For the best results for our grandma's recipe, we soak a dense bread like a crusty artisan loaf, brioche or challah in the milk and egg-based custard. (You can also use any buttery, flaky croissants left from your last trip to the Costco bakery!)

The number of eggs in my version has been reduced to make a silky custard base that has the consistency of a French toast batter, and my recipe cuts back on the heavy cream and sugar with a combination of light cream, milk and evaporated milk which helps to avoid an overly dense bread base.

I like to use evaporated milk as an ingredient as it adds moisture without excess water and helps the eggs in the custard set up and avoid the dreaded soggy center. It also adds faint notes of caramel to the flavor of the finished dessert. 

Slice the bread into evenly sized cubes of about one inch each and let them take their time absorbing the custard in a covered dish for an hour or so to soften the bread just enough before being sprinkled with sugar and baked in the oven to achieve a golden top.

Ingredients Needed

• 1 loaf (about 12–14 oz) day-old bread (country loaf, brioche, challah or 5-6 large croissants), cut into 1-inch cubes
• 3/4 cup whole milk
• 3/4 cup light cream
• 3/4 cup evaporated milk
• 3 large eggs 
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar, extra for sprinkling on top before baking
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 2 tbsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3 tbsp butter cut into pieces

How To Make Grandma Alice’s Bread Pudding

Here are my step-by-step instructions for how to make Grandma Alice's bread pudding.

1. Prep the bread

Slightly stale bread works best to soak up the egg and milk mixture. The bread needs a firm consistency to absorb moisture, hold structure in the pudding and not become soggy. Bread can be lightly toasted first and allowed to cool if it does feel stale enough.

Bake cubed pieces of bread in the oven at 300°F for about 10-15 minutes. We like the pieces lightly browned.

2. Make the custard

Combine cream, milk, evaporated milk, eggs, sugars, vanilla, spices and salt, and whisk together.

3. Soak 

Toss bread cubes with custard and stir gently to combine. Let sit for 60 minutes, gently pressing occasionally.

Grease the baking dish and add milk-soaked bread mixture. Sprinkle with sugar on top and pats of butter.

Cover with foil and bake at 325°F for 25–30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 20–25 minutes until the pudding is set with a golden top.

5. Rest

Remove from the oven and rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving to allow the custard and bread to firm.

Tips and Substitutions

Depending on the season, I have different recommendations for tips and substitutions.

For spring and summer bread pudding:

• Top with a dollop of crème fraîche
• Use orange zest to stand in for lemon or use a combination of both
• Use one berry or a combination of summer berries to spoon on top (mix berries with a tbsp of marmalade)
• Add a scoop of ice cream
• Garnish with mint leaves

For fall and winter bread pudding

• Make a vanilla sauce (warm 1 cup heavy cream, ¼ cup sugar, 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp vanilla—heat until smooth and pour over warm pudding)
• Sprinkle with powdered sugar
• Top with a dollop of crème fraîche
• Pour warm maple syrup over pudding

It probably isn’t surprising to Sanderson’s fans that The Way of Kings is the next one on the list, and this is for those who love the epic fantasies. It’s the first novel in the Stormlight Archive, and has more than 1,000 pages, so it’s not for a weekend read. The series starts on Roshar, a world that is regularly hit by devastating magical storms that help to reduce humans to a Neolithic stage of development. For those who love multiple POVs, this is the story for you.

Two words say it all: Love hurts. Behind that simple sentiment, a song with that very dual-word title traveled decades, voices, even genres before Nazareth could turn it into a global hit and one of rock’s most enduring heartbreak anthems. With Dan McCafferty’s raw, aching vocals and Manny Charlton's legendary guitar, Nazareth took a forgotten 1960s country tune and transformed it into a slow-burning rock ballad we play even in the best of spirits.  

Composed by the husband-wife songwriting duo who went by Boudleaux Bryant — Felice Bryant and Diadorius Boudleaux Bryant — “Love Hurts” was an Everly Brothers original, first recorded in July 1960. It was added to their fourth album, A Date With the Everly Brothers, but never released as a single. In 1961, Roy Orbison recorded the track as a B-side to his No. 1 hit, “Running Scared.” Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons also recorded covers; still, the song went on existing for years before really breaking through.

“We all loved the song,”  bassist Pete Aginew tells Classic Bands. “We recorded 'Love Hurts' as a B-side and that’s how we saw it. Of course, when I hear it now, it’s probably one of the best rock ballads of all time and definitely the vocal is in the top three.”

When the Scottish group released their version of “Love Hurts,” they were riding off chart success in the U.K. with three hits. According to Aginew, the band preferred Parsons’ and Harris’ versions best, taking inspiration from the country legends, but turning the song into a hard rock power ballad with McCafferty’s key emotional delivery and Charlton’s gnarly guitar solo. The song was added to the band’s sixth album, Hair of the Dog, in 1975, making it the only studio record in the U.S. to feature “Love Hurts.”

Despite the track's modern-day reputation, Nazareth’s “Love Hurts” was an initial flop. It wasn’t until South Africa took a liking to the track that radio stations in the U.S., particularly in Texas, began playing the song. After a year, the sleeper hit finally got its due, climbing to No. 8 in early 1976 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hitting No. 1 in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, and Norway.

Jane Fonda is honoring her former husband, media mogul Ted Turner, who died on Wednesday at age 87.

Turner, the founder of CNN and Turner Broadcasting System who broke boundaries with CNN's 24-hour news landscape, died surrounded by his family, according to a news release from Turner Enterprises, CNN shared. Fonda, who married Turner in 1991 and divorced him in 2001, took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to honor her former husband in a passionate statement that shared just how transformative the couple's love affair truly was.

"He swept into my life, a gloriously handsome, deeply romantic, swashbuckling pirate, and I’ve never been the same. He needed me. No one had ever let me know they needed me, and this wasn’t your average human being that needed me, this was the creator of CNN, and Turner Classic Movies, who had won the America’s Cup as the world’s greatest sailor. He had a big life, a brilliant mind, and a soaring sense of humor.

He could also take care of me. That was new as well. To be needed and cared for simultaneously is transformative. Ted Turner helped me believe in myself. He gave me confidence. I think I did the same for him, but that’s what women are raised to do. Men like Ted aren’t supposed to express need and vulnerability. That was Ted’s greatest strength, I believe," shared Fonda.

The legendary actress continued, sharing about how much Turner taught her about everything from hunting and fishing to business and strategy. Calling him "the most competitive person I have ever met," she spoke of his need to beat others at everything from making money to "how many countries he’d made love to his prior lover in and could I match that."

Fonda closed out her comments by honoring Turner's children.

"Five children survive him, five talented, complex kids who I had the privilege of becoming stepmother to. I had four stepmothers growing up, and I know how important stepmothers can be, so we all did our best to build an extended, rag-tag family, and I love them to this day. If it was complicated to be married to him, think how complicated it was being his child. And they are all doing fine," she wrote. "Rest in Peace, dearest Ted. You are loved and you will be remembered."

What Did Fonda Say About Turner Before His Death?

While the couple divorced in 2001, they stayed close friends until Turner's death. Fonda always spoke kindly about Turner, sharing that she had faith that he would belong in heaven upon his death. In The Heaven Promise, the actress shared how impressed she was that someone who came from such a troubled background turned out so well.

“Given his childhood, he should’ve become a dictator. He should’ve become a not nice person. The miracle is that he became what he is. A man who will go to heaven, and there’ll be a lot of animals up there welcoming him, animals that have been brought back from the edge of extinction because of Ted," said Fonda. "He’s turned out to be a good guy. And he says he’s not religious. But he, the whole time I was with him, every speech – and he likes to give speeches – he always ends his speech with ‘God bless.’ And he’ll get into heaven. He’s a miracle.”

Interstellarhas endured as one of the defining films of the 2010s. Despite not personally seeing it yet, I have undoubtedly seen the limitless impact the film has had not just on my generation, but the film landscape as a whole.

It's hard to go anywhere on the film side of social media and not hear Hans Zimmer's iconic organ score or see Matthew McConaugheysobbing as he watches his family grow old without him. Christopher Nolan no doubt made a classic that cemented his status as a big dog of Hollywood after his massively successful Batman trilogy.

Interstellar is a film that I see countless amounts of people list as a favorite, both online and in person. That's why it was no surprise to see it topping Letterboxd's "Films with the most fans" list.

What Is Letterboxd?

Letterboxd is a social media platform that has really grown in the last few years. The website is dedicated to creating a platform for film fans everywhere. You can log movies you've watched, write reviews, rate films, make lists, and interact with fellow users. It's a super interesting platform that has really expanded movie watching for my generation, and it has helped expose people to a lot more obscure films that they may not be aware of.

Possibly Letterboxd's most well known feature is the 4 favorites feature, where users can attach their 4 favorite movies to their profile. The aforementioned list was averaged across the entire website, with the top spot being the film that appears in the most amount of people's top 4. Effectively, that makes Interstellar the most popular movie on the internet.

Above is the full top ten of the list, which is a pretty star-studded group of films. In an app that is much more predominantly used by the younger generations, it's very interesting to see which films emerge as the most popular with that group.

Interstellar's legacy is still being written today, and I'm sure it will be even further written as the young filmmakers of this era grow up and cite this movie as a huge influence on them.
