Legendary Actor, 79, Shames Margot Robbie and Rips Into Trump and A-Listers in Brutal Interview

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 3:04pm

Brian Cox is not holding back.

The outspoken legend, who turns 80 in June, is known to get pretty candid, and his latest interview, a piece published Friday in The Times, is no exception.

Taking aim at former co-stars, Oscar nominees, and even those behind the camera, the Succession alum validated his brutal takes by saying he’s too old to care at this point.

“My wife [Nicole Ansari-Cox] keeps saying, ‘Brian, be careful. Brian, be careful.’ I think, ‘F— it, I don’t want to be careful any more! I’ll be 80 this year. F— it! I'm gonna say what I want to say,’” he told the outlet.

Commenting on Margot Robbie and her latest film, Wuthering Heights, Cox poked fun at her Australian accent and claimed she’s too pretty to play the role of Emily Brontë’s protagonist in the 19th-century romance novel.

“‘Keith Cliff! It’s me, Cathy!’” he imitates “in a cod Australian accent,” per The Times, to impersonate Robbie. “‘How ya doing, Keith? Awright?’ ‘Yeah, I’m awright!’”

Cox laughed, then added, “Margot Robbie is far too beautiful for that role. I mean, I think there should be something more of the Gypsy about her but it’s wrong of me to judge. It may be a brilliant film.”

As for others in his line of fire, he said Johnny Depp is “so overblown, so overrated,” and the reason Cox turned down the role of the governor in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which eventually went to Jonathan Pryce. He said his 25th Hour co-star Edward Norton was a “pain in the arse” and described Sir Ian McKellen’s acting style as “not to my taste.”

He also called Kevin Spacey a “stupid, stupid man” and director Quentin Tarantino “meretricious.”

“I like to honor the actor’s performance,” he said, offering his mindset as a director whose debut, Glenrothan, releases in the U.K. April 17. “With a Quentin Tarantino film, what you see is all Quentin Tarantino. That's not me. I don't want to do that.”

Cox said he prefers to be "more egalitarian than a lot of directors, the kind who call themselves visionaries."

The American president and the "patriarchy" were also not off the table, with Cox claiming America "doesn't like women" and “Trump doesn’t give a sh-- about the people. He’s only interested in the oil [in Iran]. There’s just sheer f----ing greed motivating him, nothing else. The idea he’s liberating people is a nonsense.”

There's a lot to unpack.

Ross Adams Drops a Major Bombshell on a Scott Drinkwell 'Hollyoaks' Return

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 2:42pm

Fans of Hollyoaks hoping for a return from Scott Drinkwell have received a disappointing update from his portrayer, Ross Adams.

Adams recently spoke to The Sun about his roles across the British soap landscape.

With Scott’s aunt Diane, played by Brookside legend Alex Fletcher, facing a cancer storyline exit, fans had hoped the character might return for her final episodes. However, Adams suggested that may not happen.

“I always say never say never, but I do feel like that chapter has genuinely closed for me now,” he said. “Particularly with Alex Fletcher — lovely Alex Fletcher, who played Diane — leaving. She was such an integral part of my family unit on the show.”

Still, he didn’t completely shut the door on the future. “When you play a character for ten years, it’s really difficult to just shake them off,” Adams added.

Adams also noted that he wouldn’t be interested in returning for a brief appearance. “If I did go back, I wouldn’t want to do a one-episode cameo. I’d want to go back for a proper stint.”

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Adams joined the cast of Hollyoaks in 2015 and portrayed Scott for nearly a decade before departing in 2024. During his time on the show, he was involved in several major storylines, from his drag persona Anita Tinkle to his romance and marriage to Mitchell Deveraux. Later arcs saw Scott becoming a foster father while navigating complex family dynamics.

For his work on Hollyoaks, Adams won the award for Best Male Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards in 2018.

In addition to his work on Hollyoaks, Adams began his professional television acting career in 2006 with an appearance on Eleventh Hour and I’m With Stupid.

Adams also worked behind the scenes at both iTV soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale behind the scenes, working in various roles such as assistant to the series producer and as a storyliners and script editor.

Hollyoaks airs Monday through Wednesday on Channel 4 in the UK with episodes airing globally one week later on YouTube.

Nancy Guthrie Update: $100K Reward Offeror Explains Why He's More Likely to Get Case-Solving Lead

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 2:39pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than two months after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and an attorney recently explained why his $100,000 reward offer is more likely to get a case-solving lead.

On Sunday, April 5, Fox News Digital spoke with Michael Hupy, an attorney and the president of Crime Stoppers Milwaukee, who announced his $100K reward two weeks after Nancy's Feb. 1 disappearance.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

During the interview, Hupy pointed out that Crime Stoppers is the safest way for witnesses to report information without sharing their name, as opposed to speaking with the sheriff's office or the FBI. "I believe that people will come forward if they’re anonymous and if they get a reward," he pointed out.

Hupy also explained that tipsters could share valuable info without being labeled as "snitches" publicly. "They get a reward anonymously, and they help society by getting criminals off the street," he shared.

Additionally, Hupy addressed why, as an attorney in Wisconsin, he decided to offer a reward in the 84-year-old's missing case.

"I was very sad that an 84-year-old woman in poor health was taken from her home, without her medication, her heart pacemaker stopped [synching], there's blood at the crime scene, and I thought something had to be done quickly," he explained "And I thought this is a place I could step in, as I have in Milwaukee."

Hupy also called out the Pima County Sheriff's Department during his chat with Fox News Digital. "I don’t think they secured the scene long enough to process it," he admitted. "They went in, looked, opened it up, then they had to come back later."

In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward, the FBI has offered $100,000, and Savannah has offered $1 million for information leading to the recovery of Nancy, who was last seen at her home on the evening of Jan. 31. No suspect has been named in the case, as of writing.

The local Crime Stoppers affiliate in Pima County, Ariz., is 88-CRIME, and the number is 520-882-7463.

Instead of keeping plants on the floor or scattering them across random corners, this cart gives you one spot to pull everything together. The six-tier layout lets you show off more without taking up much floor space, which is especially useful if you’re working with a small patio, porch, or balcony. Each tier can hold a few small to medium pots, along with extra decor if you want to mix in candles, books, or small accents.

One shopper said it’s “beautiful to look at” and “easy to assemble,” which is ideal if you’re short on time. You can fill it with potted flowers now, swap in herbs during summer, then change it over to mums, mini pumpkins, or lanterns once fall rolls around. Because the frame is black and the design is decorative, it works with a lot of different looks.

Why Malcolm in the Middle's Original Dewey Turned Down 'Buckets of Money' to Appear in Reboot

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 2:18pm

Hulu and Disney+'s new Malcolm in the Middle reboot, Life's Still Unfair, premieres April 10, and while many of the show's original stars, including Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Kennedy Masterson, and Justin Berfield, will reprise their roles, one beloved character had to be recast. So, why isn't the original Dewey, Erik Per Sullivan, appearing in the revival?

“They offered him buckets of money to come back, and he just said: ‘No thank you’," Kaczmarek, who plays mom Lois, told The Guardian on April 3. So, where is he now? "He’s studying Dickens [at Harvard] and is an incredible student," the actress added.

The former child star has been extremely private since the show originally ended in May 2006, 20 years ago. In fact, he was spotted for the first time in more than a decade in August 2025 while getting coffee in Boston. He was beaming in the photos, seemingly enjoying his quieter life.

Kaczmarek, clearly still close with her former on-screen son, shared an update on his life two years prior. “He’s very, very well,” she said in April 2024. “He did Malcolm for seven years. He started at 7, he ended at 14. He wasn’t interested in acting at all.”

"So many people think being in show business is the greatest thing in the world," she added. "[But] it’s not for everyone."

Per Sullivan took on just one role post-Malcolm—2010 crime thriller Twelve—and then he disappeared to focus on a life in academia, during which he attended the University of Southern California before moving to Boston and enrolling at Harvard. Though he previously posted some nostalgic content about Dewey on Instagram, he's since wiped his online presence.

Canadian actor Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is stepping in to fill the void and take on the Dewey role, and he might look familiar to fans. He appeared in 2024’s The Thicket, The Silencing, and Syfy’s Wynonna Earp.

The four-part mini series Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair premieres on Hulu and Disney+ on April 10.

What Has Curtis Said About His Relationship With Aniston?

Back in February, Curtis made an appearance on an episode of the Ced with Intention podcast and opened up about his relationship with Aniston. In the interview, he spoke candidly about how issues can flare up in any relationship.

“I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend,” he shared. “We spend a lot of time in the house together. Sometimes, we can have little things flare up.”

Curtis went on to say that the duo has a system for how they deal with troubles in their relationship.

“We have the opportunity to be silent, angry, [we] could leave the house, think about it and meditate on how to change it,” he continued. “Or we can say, ‘Hey, this is what happened, I’m sorry,’ and do the repair.”

When Did Aniston and Curtis Go Instagram Official?

Popular 1970s Sitcom Is Getting A Real-Life Revival 48 Years Later

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 2:07pm

WKRP in Cincinnati only ran for four seasons on CBS, but the radio station sitcom left a lasting mark. The cult classic ran from 1978 to 1982 and starred Gary Sandy,Gordon Jump,Howard Hesseman, and Loni Anderson.

Despite not airing in over four decades, those famous call letters are still nostalgic for fans today, and now they're getting a real-life spin-off of the sitcom that put Anderson on the map.

To this day, no Cincinnati broadcaster has used the WKRP call letters for a real radio station, but that is about to change after a low-power Raleigh, North Carolina station put the famous letters on sale and someone in the Cincinnati market purchased them.

Details on the sale are still being kept under wraps.

D.P. McIntire, who runs the media nonprofit behind the auction, told The Associated Press, "I cannot, by contract, tell you when. I cannot tell you who. But I can tell you, direct to the camera, WKRP, after 48 years, is coming to Cincinnati."

🎬SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

He continued, "Book it! It’s done!"

We'll have to wait and see what the upcoming real-life WKRP radio station plays, but the fictional version famously converted from "elevator music" to hits of the '70s and '80s, including The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Foreigner, Steely Dan, Styx, Elvis Presley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bruce Springsteen, Blondie, and Stevie Wonder.

Unfortunately, many WKRP in Cincinnati stars are not alive to see this.

Jump, who played the Maytag repairman, died on Sep. 22, 2003, at the age of 71 from complications of pulmonary fibrosis. Hesseman, who played Dr. Johnny Fever, died on January 29, 2022, at 81, due to complications from colon surgery. Anderson died on Aug. 3, 2025, at age 79 due to metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer.

1977 Hit Ranked Among ‘Greatest Songs of All Time’ Became a Road Trip Anthem

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:58pm

A 1977 rock hit that captured the restless energy of life on the road has been ranked among the greatest songs of all time, solidifying its place as one of the defining tracks of its era.

“Running on Empty,” recorded byJackson Browne, became one of the singer-songwriter’s signature songs and remains a staple of classic rock radio decades after its release. The track, which Rolling Stone included on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, helped define Browne’s career and the sound of late-1970s rock.

Related: ’70s Rock Legend Jackson Browne Told to ‘Stick to Music’ After Latest Statement

Released as the title track of his 1977 live album, the song was recorded during a concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. It went on to reach No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 17 weeks on the chart, becoming one of Browne’s biggest hits.

Related: Jackson Browne Shares Devastating Family News: ‘We Ask for Privacy’

Critics at the time highlighted both its energy and its deeper meaning. Billboard described it as “fiery rock ’n’ roll that continues in intensity throughout,” noting the “serious lyric content” carried by Browne’s distinctive vocal. And Ultimate Classic Rock named it Browne's best song, calling it a "perfect metaphor" for Browne's life as a musician and "one of his most autobiographical songs."

At its core, “Running on Empty” reflects the physical and emotional toll of constant movement—something Browne knew well. He wrote the song while commuting to the studio, inspired by the feeling of always being in motion without a clear destination. The lyrics track the passage of time and the weight of experience, giving the song an autobiographical edge.

Related: Neil Young & Jackson Browne Join Major Hall of Fame Class for 2025

But beneath that surface, the song also touches on something more personal. Lines about fleeting connections and emotional distance hint at the strain that a life spent on the road can place on relationships. That underlying tension—between movement and connection, ambition and stability—gives the song a quieter emotional resonance that has helped it endure.

Over time, “Running on Empty” has taken on a broader meaning beyond its original context. While it may not be a traditional breakup song, its themes of burnout, distance and emotional disconnect have allowed listeners to connect with it in deeply personal ways.

Nearly five decades later, the track still stands as one of Browne’s most recognizable songs, a reflection of a moment in time that continues to resonate with audiences who know what it feels like to keep moving forward, even when the destination isn’t clear.

1987 Hit TV Series Ranked FOX’s Longest-Running Live-Action Sitcom Premiered on This Day

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:57pm

The FOX network was in its infancy when it premiered Married…with Children. It was the first primetime series on the network and became FOX’s longest-running live-action sitcom.

The goal of Married…with Children was to be the antithesis of network family series with the directive to be as outrageous as they could be, using material, i.e. sexually-charged humor, that wouldn’t be allowed on ABC, CBS or NBC.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

What was the premise of Married... with Children?

Set in Chicago, Married…with Children followed the lives of the Bundy family: Al Bundy, a former high school football player turned hard-luck women's shoe salesman; his lazy wife Peggy; their teenage daughter Kelly; and their younger son Bud.

In addition to the Bundys, the show also featured their next-door neighbors Steve and Marcy Rhoades, both of whom Al finds annoying, a feeling that was definitely reciprocated.

Who were the original cast members of Married... with Children?

Ed O’Neill as Al Bundy
Katey Sagal
as Peggy Bundy
Christina Applegate
as Kelly Bundy
David Faustino as Bud Bundy
David Garrison as Steve Rhoades
Amanda Bearse as Marcy Rhoades

Did Married... with Children win any awards?

Despite the show's longevity and loyal fanbase, Married... with Children was never a major ratings success. Part of that was a reflection of FOX, which had much fewer broadcast stations than the big three: ABC, CBS and NBC.

Even so, the series was nominated for seven Primetime Emmys during its tenure and seven Golden Globe Awards.

Where can I watch Married... with Children today?

All 11 seasons of Married…with Children are currently streaming on Prime Video.

Nancy Guthrie Update: New Details Emerge on Desert Surrounding Her Home

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:50pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than two months after the abduction in Tucson, Ariz.—and new details have emerged about the desert surrounding the 84-year-old's home.

On the April 3 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, the NewsNation senior national correspondent spoke with retired Pima County SWAT commander Bob Krieger about the investigation.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

"Tucson is surrounded by mountains in each direction. And once you get on, essentially, the back side of any of those, that's where the remoteness starts," Krieger explained.

"The biggest area, geographically, is going out to the west," he continued. "And out there is where we encounter a lot of activity from, you know, smuggling of all sorts — whether it be humans or drugs. things like that, to violent crimes, to, you know, body disposals."

Krieger went on to say that although "a lot of bodies" are found in the desert year-round, the number typically increases during the summer months "when people are crossing and they don't know what to expect of the hot deserts."

Related: Nancy Guthrie Update: TSA Found Undeclared Loaded Gun in Chris Nanos’ Luggage

Additionally, he said of the desert near Nancy's home, "There's just a ton of stuff going on out there, and it's just so vast. And a lot of times, you know, you just can't find what you're looking for, even if you have very specific locations."

The former SWAT commander also pointed out, "Some of the roads when I used to work out here, they were like super highways for criminal activity. This little track here will take you 100 miles south and get you to Mexico if you want."

Krieger's insight into the area surrounding Savanah's missing mom's home came on the heels of the two-month mark since she went missing on Feb. 1. It also comes ahead of Savannah's return to her Today co-hosting duties for the first time since Nancy's disappearance.

The 84-year-old was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. Despite Savannah's $1 million reward offer, no suspect has been named in the case.

'General Hospital' Icon Jon Lindstrom Pulls Back the Curtain on His Second Career as an Author

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:29pm

Soap superstar Jon Lindstrom is set to release his second novel, Hollywood Payback, on April 14, 2026, and the longtime soap star is opening up about what he enjoys most about writing.

Lindstrom spoke with longtime soap journalist Roger Newcomb of We Love Soaps about his upcoming novel and his time on Beyond the Gates.

When asked what he learned between writing the first and second novel, Lindstrom said, “That I genuinely enjoy writing.”

He added that his writing routine starts early in the day. “I’m an early‑morning writer—up at 5:00 or 5:30, and I don’t check email or texts. It’s peaceful.”

The actor also addressed whether writing feels isolating. “People ask if it’s lonely, but no—you’ve got all these voices in your head,” he said. “Honestly, I prefer it to sitting in a development meeting with people who haven’t read the material but still have opinions.”

The actor previously teased that his first novel, Hollywood Hustle, is being developed for an on-screen adaptation.

Lindstrom is perhaps best known for his portraying twins, serial killer Ryan Chamberlain and Dr. Kevin Collins, on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, roles he originated beginning in 1992.

In 1997 Lindstrom crossed his character Kevin Collins over to the spinoff series Port Charles.

Lindstrom made his daytime debut as Brady Chapin on Rituals in 1984, later joining Santa Barbara in 1985. He also played Craig Montgomery for the final two years of As the World Turns from 2008 to 2010.

He currently portrays the role of mob boss Joey Armstrong on the CBS soap opera Beyond the Gates while making occasional appearances on General Hospital as Kevin Collins.

Beyond the Gates airs new episodes weekdays on CBS and weeknights on Paramount Plus. Viewers can watch episodes from the beginning on Paramount Plus or on Pluto TV’s dedicated 24/7 Beyond the Gates FAST channel.

Hollywood Payback, the sequel to his debut novel Hollywood Hustle, can be pre-ordered at all major book retailers.

‘I’m 68 and Can Bench Press 75 Pounds—Here’s My Exact Weekly Workout Routine'

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:25pm

Suzanne Luhr is a 68-year-old retiree from Wyoming who used to work as a GIS Principal and Map Editor—and her workout routine did not start with a happy story. “I started my wellness journey following a bicycle wreck in 2011,” she recalls. “I was hit by a truck that broke my femur and fractured my pelvis.”

After the wreck, she started physical therapy. That’s when she became passionate about deadlifting. “I found my love for deadlifting, and it became a love, not just a necessity,” she tells Parade. “Watching my body and mind slowly improve, it became less about needing to heal my injuries and more about how I can grow stronger day by day.”

As of today, Luhr can bench press 75 pounds, squat lift 145 pounds, and deadlift 207 pounds.

Think that could never be you? Not so fast. Luhr says that while she looks forward to working out at the gym now, she used to think the gym was “for other people.” She’s since been chosen as a 2026 Senior Planet Sponsored Athlete with AARP. She’s also a competitive powerlifter who competed in the 2025 Senior Olympics in Cheyenne and many other major competitions.

“In this role, I really hope to inspire other seniors [who] think they cannot do it,” she says. “It’s doable, trust me. The first step is to just...take the first step!”

As a powerlifter, she’s naturally passionate about arm strength and has super-strong arms—partially thanks to a horse and some grocery bags, too. Stay tuned for those stories, plus her weekly workout routine, her favorite smoothie recipe and other fitness advice she wants to share.

Suzanne Luhr

Luhr’s Weekly Workout RoutineTuesdays and Fridays

On these days, Luhr attends a 1-hour strength training group class. Participants are broken up into five groups that rotate through five sections. Typically, they do three sets of five to 10 reps of each exercise, and if they do fewer reps, they lift heavier.

Luhr shares what that looks like for her group:

  • The upper body station is first, where the group rotates through lat pull-downs, bicep curls, rows and tricep push-downs or push-ups.
  • Second is squats, in which participants lift heavier with each set to maximize muscle growth.
  • Deadlifts are next—and Luhr loves them. “Deadlifts are my favorite station, so I always lift as heavy as I can, especially for my last set,” she says.
  • Fourth is the bench press station. “With two bad shoulders, this station is not my favorite, but I always try to push myself to new limits,” she explains.
  • Last but not least is lunges. Group members complete three sets of 20 yards each. Luhr does the first 20 yards without weights, then adds 10 pounds per hand for the next two sets.
Thursdays and Sundays

Luhr’s workout looks different on these days. She attends the Laramie Recreation Center and hits up the weight room for about 45 to 60 minutes.

First, she cycles through several upper body, core and leg exercises on whatever machines are available, and she often adds squats. Next, she climbs 34 floors on the stair-stepper machine, trying to add another floor each time as a challenge. Last but not least, she walks on the track for one to one-and-a-half miles.

Her “days off”

Luhr moves her body on her “off days,” too, mostly with walking. “For me, walking is an essential part of that muscle-to-mind connection,” she says.

She takes these walks around her small town (Laramie, Wyoming) to get to appointments or meetings. If the weather is especially nice, she’ll ride her bike. “Nothing is ridiculously far, and walking and biking are good for me and the environment,” she says.

How Luhr Got ‘Crazy Strong Arms’

Luhr is especially passionate about arm workouts, and her various experiences reflect why. For example, she’s spent over 30 years riding bareback on a horse—and getting up on the horse, especially with it being 5 feet, takes power in the arms and upper body. “Over time, that experience grew a mind-to-muscle connection, building strength in my arms,” she says.

She knows the value of arm strength for everyday living and exercising, too, and says she recognizes the importance of continuing to build and maintain that strength. “Strong arms and shoulders are critical for me since they support nearly everything I do, from gripping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying out everyday tasks without fear that I'm going to hurt myself,” Luhr says.

She engages in hammer curls and tricep dips to strengthen her muscles. “It’s super easy to do the tricep dips anywhere, which is what I like most about this workout,” she adds. “You are able to do it on a chair at home or in the gym…This is the same with hammer curls.”

Additionally, Luhr does pushups. She started doing them on a bar that she lowered over time. Once she got strong enough, she started doing pushups on the floor.

Luhr also brings functionality into her workout by using her grocery bags as weights. “For me, it’s important to think of how everyday activities make me stronger,” she says.

The Loved Ones Who Help Luhr Stay in Shape

Luhr’s loved ones have played a role in her fitness journey. She thinks of her husband, Wes, a “daily workout enthusiast” that she feels “constantly challenged” by. “He is an immense help to me,” she says. “He will keep me on track if I'm ever at risk of derailing.”

Her cat, believe it or not, also plays a major role. “Another close love that keeps me active both mentally and physically is my 20-year-old cat, Callie,” Luhr continues. “Pets have always been essential in my life, and everybody knows petting a cat or dog (or horse) lowers one's blood pressure.”

Luhr’s Nutrition Habits

Luhr values nutrition, too. She’s a vegetarian who eats a lot of fruits and vegetables, and she doesn’t mindlessly snack as much. She has a yogurt maker she loves, and often makes plant-based yogurt, which she adds to smoothies. Additionally, she eats a lot of whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes. “I’m not a nutrition expert, but I do know what works for me,” Luhr says.

She spoils us with the approximate recipe for her go-to, high-protein, pre-workout smoothie, which makes two servings:

  • 1 cup milk (she uses soy milk)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (she uses her plant-based yogurt)
  • ½ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small banana
  • ⅓ cup walnuts or peanuts (or whatever nuts you like)
  • You can also add whey or plant-based protein.

“Having this smoothie a couple hours before [my] workout gives me plenty of energy to power through a good workout,” she says. “If my workout’s still hours away and I’m still hungry, a piece of whole-grain toast with peanut butter (crunchy, of course) and honey will get me through most of the day.”

Luhr’s Exercise Advice

As a strong, decorated 68-year-old, Luhr is definitely a solid choice for getting fitness advice. What are the main messages she wants others to know?

“When you’re ready to enter a gym, start with a coach or a friend [who] knows the ropes, so you learn proper technique for exercises or the machines to avoid hurting yourself,” she says.

Luhr also encourages not going too hard too quickly. “Start with light weights,” she says. “It doesn’t matter your weight, as long as you do it right. The weight, strength and self-confidence will come with time and persistence.”

A Psychologist Is Begging Parents Not To Do This One Common Thing With Teens

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 1:21pm

While it's tempting as a parent to want to be involved in every aspect (no matter how small) of your teen's life, psychologists say that you should be wary of overstepping or obsessing. Not only can this lead to your child lacking in confidence, but it can also lead to one common critical parenting error: an invasion of privacy. While it might seem easy to validate snooping around in your child's things in the age of social media, child psychologist Dr. Francheska Perepletchikova, PhD, is convinced that this is detrimental to a healthy relationship. In fact, she's begging parents to quell the urge to do this in the first place.

"Picture your teenage years: a period as critical as it is delicate for self-discovery, individuality and development of critical thinking," she explains. "These are the years that simultaneously require and deserve understanding for personal exploration as well as continued support and guidance from guardian figures. When we are helicoptered, we're disrespected and belittled—our need for a private refuge treated as an illicit inconvenience."

When you invade your child's privacy, she also says that it doesn't create trust in you, the adult, either. It's a fine line to walk between permissiveness and authority, but with Dr. Perepletchikova's insight, it's possible to have both in a healthy way. Ahead, she shares why it's critical that parents don't do this, along with ways to help create an open and honest relationship with your teen moving forward.

Related: The 9 Battles With Teens That Child Psychologists Warn Are Not Worth Fighting—Here’s Why

The 1 Common Thing You Shouldn’t Do With Your Teen, According to a Psychologist

While parents might be tempted to snoop and go through their teen's belongings, Dr. Perepletchikova says this is one of the worst things you can do as a parent.

"Privacy is vital for psychological well-being by increasing our sense of control over our environment, encouraging creative engagement and experimentation and promoting self-regulation and self-reflection," she shares. "When the parent-child relationship begins to break down due to invasion of privacy, the resulting lack of trust, security, respect, understanding and support can result in the development of clinical dysfunction in anyone, let alone developmentally vulnerable teenagers."

In this digital age, it's also natural for parents to have concerns about their child’s online activity and communication. Because of this, parents might be tempted to go through their child's phone or install parental controls. But Dr. Perepletchikova says that monitoring social media or internet use like this can be detrimental to your relationship.

"Unlike laptops or home desktop computers, a cellphone is viewed as a very personal device that guarantees a level of seclusion and privacy in its use," she explains. "When monitoring applications are installed on these devices, a teen not only deals with the mental consequences of constant familial policing (that in and of itself promotes unhealthy parenting styles), but is likely to feel ostracized from their peers."

While this doesn't necessarily mean parental apps like this should never be used, they are less likely to cause fallout with a teen if the parent-child relationship was previously built on trust, mutually agreed upon boundaries and expectations, and healthy communication above all else.

Is It Ever OK for a Parent To Invade Their Child’s Privacy?

Malte Mueller/Getty Images

Just like with any rule, there are a few exceptions, which Dr. Perepletchikova outlines. She stresses that the only time invading your teen's privacy is potentially allowable is if there's strong evidence and/or a suspicion that their well-being is at risk. In this case, that should only be done after you've communicated your concerns to your teen first.

"For example, if your teen is showing signs of being in an abusive relationship, you strongly suspect they may be groomed by a contact they made online, they are engaging in self-harm, they begin experimenting with drugs, they are engaging with criminal activity or you suspect they're making plans with friends to an obviously dangerous outing," she shares.

Even if one of the above scenarios occurs, she also says it's more important than ever to stay calm.

"You do not overreact by launching into their room to parse for evidence to use against them or start screaming at them and restricting them with whatever punishments you can that may keep them at home," she adds.

Instead, she suggests sitting down with them for a serious conversation where you explain your concerns and why you have them.

"Allow them to defend themselves, but be clear about established rules and their consequences, or why you may move to temporarily restrict certain privileges they have," she states. "Explain what your actions will be should they continue behaving dangerously, and if they do, be prepared to act on those consequences."

The Lasting Negative Effects of Invading Your Teen's Privacy

Dr. Perepletchikova also says that the urge to invade your child's privacy can be a form of helicopter parenting. Being overly worried about every area of your child's life can lead to a few things that she shares.

"In general, [it can cause] decreased life satisfaction [in your teen], decreased academic performance and motivation, development of depression and anxiety symptoms, development of maladaptive perfectionism and a reduced sense of self-competency," she shares.

Helicopter parenting in general is usually a one-way ticket to invasion of privacy. While it may be tempting to do this, she says that it stems from a need to ensure control over children through constant knowledge and the weaponization of their actions.

"When a teen is unable to maintain personal boundaries with their parents, they are in fact more likely to keep secrets," she continues. "[They're also more likely to] develop clever means to avoid contact with their family, and find companionship with those who will allow them to explore freedom in ways their family refused them. This often means engaging in dangerous activities and now, they're armed with better methods to keep it confidential."

How To Respect Your Child's Privacy

With the few exceptions outlined above, Dr. Perepletchikova says it's simple: don't rummage through your teen's belongings any further than basic tidying up.

"If there are notebooks lying around, don’t read through them," she firmly states. "If mail comes in for them, don't open it. If their phone is unlocked, don't use it as an excuse to snoop beyond telling them they have a message or call. The more you respect their privacy and belongings, the healthier your relationship with your teen becomes."

By keeping out of their personal things, your teen will also be more likely to communicate the information you want to know about on their own, and you'll be way less likely to want to snoop in the first place. Dr. Perepletchiokova also says there's something else you should remember.

"It is also important to accept that you are not entitled to know everything your teen is doing and feeling," she adds. "[You don't need to pry] beyond basic information, such as asking who they plan to hang out with (where and how long). Strings of prying questioning go beyond data collection for their safety and into interrogation territory that serves only to push them further away."

3 Ways To Create an Honest Relationship With Your Teen

Creating an open line of communication with your teen is essential—especially if you want to have a healthy relationship. Dr. Perepletchikova outlined a few things you can do that support this.

1. Be a good role model

While Dr. Perepletchikova says it's natural for a teen to begin to question their parents' commands and judgments, a parent still represents an authority and source of support.

"This authority is based on actions rather than words alone," she explains. "The way a parent behaves around their child is ultimately how a child will learn to act themselves. The earlier in a child's life you begin modeling adaptive behavior, the better that child is set up to tackle the challenges of adolescence."

But she also stresses that it's never too late to start now. Adapting better behavior, even if you've been prone to modeling poor behavior in the past, proves to a teen that you're willing to improve yourself.

2. Have open and respectful communication

This is key if you're trying to build a strong relationship with your teen. If you find that your teen is refusing to communicate with you beyond small talk or grows extremely defensive every time you try to bring up something vulnerable, Dr. Perepletchikova says that working to improve trust in communication is key.

"During adolescence, a teen might become curious about the taboo (like drugs or drinking), or something sensitive, like their sexuality and gender identity," she shares. "They may try to stand out from their peers by acting recklessly, or fit in with the crowd as a trend seeker, regardless of how harmful it might be."

If you find yourself shutting down or avoiding discussion of these sensitive topics, especially when the teen themselves brings them up, it will only result in them bottling things up.

"Pretending that your child would never try a drink or experiment with their significant other because you 'taught them better' does not dissuade them from trying," she states. "You will simply never hear about it. Avoiding open and shameless discussion about sensitive material doesn't stop the teen from wanting to engage with it—it only serves to incentivize them to find someone else who will."

This also applies to shaming your teen for poor performance in school. Verbally accosting them will only make them want to hide their mistakes and failures. The child psychologist shares that, instead, express disappointment, but validate their efforts. It's also important to make sure they know that you love them regardless.

"Express your availability to talk when they need it, and genuinely follow through on it instead of devolving into [an] argument," she adds. "Admit to your own shortcomings, and take their criticism with understanding instead of condescension—regardless of how true it might be."

Finally, she stresses that pushing away your teen by shutting down safe and open communication is often the reason parents resort to invading their privacy at all.

"By improving your communication, your teen has little reason to want to hide their issues, and you have little reason to be concerned over the secrets that they do want to keep," she says.

3. Establish clear rules

While it's important to establish open communication, Dr. Perepletchikova says it's equally important to establish boundaries with your teen.

"Risk-taking and experimentation are expected, but they aren't always acceptable," she shares. "You must establish early on what is and isn't allowable. Make sure to clearly explain the relevant consequences for failing to adhere to those rules, why these rules exist, and why the consequences are fair."

You should also ensure that these consequences are consistently implemented. When rules aren't clear or established, consequences for even the most obviously dangerous behaviors may be seen as unfairly retaliatory.

"Likewise, when consequences are not consistently implemented for rule-breaking as agreed upon, the dangerous behavior won't be dissuaded," she adds.

Elizabeth Hurley Just Wished Her Lookalike Son a Happy 24th Birthday, and He’s Basically Her Twin

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:58pm

Elizabeth Hurley and her son, Damian Hurley, are basically twins.

The British beauty, 60, who is known for roles in films like Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Bedazzled, and TV series like The Royals, is also a swimwear designer who frequently shows off her hot stuff on social media. But it's her lookalike son, Damian Hurley, who frequently shocks fans thanks to his DNA basically being a copy and paste of his mother's.

In a post honoring her son for his 24th birthday, Hurley posted a throwback photo from when Damian was just a little boy, as well as a more recent photo that showed the duo alongside each other. With their faces right next to each other, the resemblance is truly mindblowing.

“I’ve been writing and directing little short films since I was eight, torturing all my long-suffering family and friends to be in them,” he told the Standard in February. “I was a lethal kid recruiting people for my films. No one escaped. My godfathers are Hugh [Grant], Elton John, and David and Denis Leary, who’s an extraordinary comedian, all my mum’s friends. Dame Joan Collins, everyone. I tortured everyone,” he said. "To see so intimately brilliant actors being brilliant; just giants within their careers, was an amazing thing to see."

The 4 Birth Months Most Likely to Travel After Retirement

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:54pm

Retirement means different things to different people. For some, it’s a chance to slow down and remain close to what feels familiar. For others, it marks the moment they have been eagerly anticipating—the opportunity to explore the world on their own terms. People born in certain months often have a natural desire to travel, experience new things, and avoid staying in one place for too long, especially once life opens up a bit. For these individuals, travel isn’t just about checking destinations off a list; it’s about finally having the time and freedom to pursue the experiences they have been dreaming of for years.

Here are four birth months that are especially likely to mark the start of their personal travel era.

Which Birth Months Are Most Likely to Travel After They Retire?

Check for your birth month. Disregard your birth date.

March

People born in March tend to have a quiet but constant pull toward the world beyond their everyday surroundings. They’re the ones who daydream about far-off places, different cultures, and experiences that feel meaningful—not just fun. Even if they didn’t travel much earlier in life, that desire never really goes away. Retirement finally gives them the freedom to act on it, and once they start, they usually don’t want to stop. They’re drawn to places that feel a little magical or emotional—coastal towns, historic cities, or anywhere with a story behind it. Whether you're an imaginative, reflective Pisces or a bold, action-oriented Aries, this birth month seeks adventure throughout their lifetime.

FUN!: Where You Should Retire, Based on Your Birth Month

June

June-born individuals don’t like feeling stuck, and that doesn’t suddenly change with age. Naturally curious and enjoying switching things up, they find traveling less like a luxury and more a necessity. After retirement, they’re often the ones planning multiple trips a year to keep life interesting. People born in June enjoy variety: a trip to a busy city, a quiet beach, and then somewhere totally unexpected. They also tend to connect easily with people, so traveling feels comfortable and exciting rather than overwhelming. Whether you're a curious, social Gemini or an intuitive, nostalgic Cancer, you seek meaningful memories.

FURTHER: 4 Birth Months Who Will Thrive in Retirement

September

People born in September approach travel a little differently; they’re not impulsive about it, but they absolutely follow through. Because they are definitely planners, they will have lists, ideas, and “someday” trips saved for years. When retirement finally comes, they’re ready. They enjoy traveling in an organized, fulfilling way, not in a chaotic way. Their trips often have a purpose, whether that’s learning something new, seeing famous landmarks, or just experiencing a place properly rather than rushing through it. Once they get into the rhythm of traveling, it becomes a regular part of their life. Whether you're a detail-focused, practical Virgo or a balanced Libra, your retirement era invites you to open your worldview through expansive experiences.

December

Thoseborn in Decemberhave a built-in sense that life is meant to be experienced fully, and retirement is when they really lean into that. In their advanced years, they welcome variety, not wanting to waste time doing the same thing every day. They like the idea of going places, trying new things, and making the most of their time. Travel feels exciting, energizing, and worth the effort. They’re usually open to bigger, longer trips that step outside their comfort zone. For them, retirement isn’t the end of something—it’s the beginning of a whole new chapter. Either an adventurous, freedom-loving Sagittarius or a disciplined, goal-driven Capricorn, you seek constant growth, no matter your age.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Joseph Baena Sports a Sword and a Speedo To Win 2nd Bodybuilding Competition

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:23pm

Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Joseph Baena, is celebrating another exciting win at the INBA's Iron Gladiator competition in California.

Baena, 38, is following in the footsteps of Schwarzenegger, 78, an actor, businessman, and former California governor, known for roles in films like TerminatorTrue Lies, and Kindergarten Cop. Before all that, Schwarzenegger got his start as a bodybuilder, and the legendary Austrian is carrying on his legacy with his son, whom he shares with former household staffer Mildred Patricia “Patty” Baena. (He also has four children, PatrickKatherineChristopher, and Christina, with his ex-wife Maria Shriver.)

In a post showing Baena standing on stage in a black Speedo and brandishing a sword, the tanned bodybuilder smiled brightly as he celebrated his win.

Do Schwarzenegger and Baena Regularly Work Out Together?

Yes! Recently, the duo hit the gym together as Baena prepped for his competition.

“You have to shock the muscles!” Baena captioned the photos, clearly implying that the quote was something his father said to him as they lifted heavy barbells together in the gym.

Last year, Baena joined his father on the red carpet at the FUBAR premiere and opened up about hitting the gym together.

“He busts my balls if I’m not there at 7 a.m. He’s there every day. I’m there every day, or I try to be there every day. But yeah, we train together. We love working out together. He’s a great training partner,” Baena told Entertainment Tonight.

When asked if he’d ever portray his famous father onscreen, Baena went on to say that “it would be a great honor. Again, he’s a huge role model. He’s my dad. I would love to do justice to any role that takes to be him.”

Pepsi Pulls Out of UK Festival Kanye West Is Set To Headline

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:16pm

If you didn't see Kanye West during his two sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium last week, there's no telling when you might get to see him play in the U.S. again. The controversial rapper is headed overseas for more shows, first stopping in New Delhi, India, before continuing on to Turkey, the Netherlands, and France.

July 10 through 12, West is scheduled for the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park in London, but now, that festival has lost its biggest sponsor. On Sunday, Pepsi announced they were pulling out as a sponsor of the upcoming three-night event, sharing a short message with the British press that simply read, "Pepsi has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of Wireless Festival." The soft drink brand has been affiliated with the Wireless Festival since 2015.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Pepsi did not mention West specifically in the statement, but there have been growing online protests of the booking, and a strong condemnation from U.K. prime minister Keir Starmer, who told The Sun, "It is deeply concerning Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous antisemitic remarks and celebration of Nazism. Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted firmly wherever it appears. Everyone has a responsibility to ensure Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe."

View this post on Instagram

Starmer was far from alone in his condemnation. London Mayor Sadiq Khan also publicly distanced his office from the booking, with a spokesperson telling The Guardianthat West's past conduct and comments are "offensive and wrong, and simply not reflective of London's values," while clarifying that City Hall had no involvement in the festival's decision.

The UK's Jewish Leadership Council called the booking "deeply irresponsible" and argued that West's January Wall Street Journal apology letter should be viewed with skepticism, given his history of selling swastika T-shirts and releasing a song called "Heil Hitler" after making previous apologies.

View this post on Instagram

There are still three months to go until the Wireless Festival kicks off. With Pepsi removing its sponsorship, many are looking to PayPal, Rockstar Energy Drink, Budweiser, and Johnnie Walker, the show's remaining sponsors, to see what they might do. So far, none have made a statement.

Protest is spilling over to the comments section of Wireless Festival Instagram posts. "So men can just get away with anything it seems. Cool cool cool," someone wrote.

Another shared, "This is ridiculous, nice way of showing where you stand."

On another post, a protestor called it "Disgrace of a festival."

Another weighed in, "Wanted to go but cannot support that man and all he stands for… wth they thinking?"

Fans Call for 'Unexpected' To Be Canceled After ‘Super Disturbing’ Clip of Teen Parents Goes Viral

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:11pm

TLC's Unexpected is certainly no stranger to controversy, but a newly released sneak peek of tomorrow's episode has pushed viewers to a breaking point.

A preview clip circulating on social media shows teen mom Bella Vaughn casually revealing to her mother that she and her boyfriendHunter Johnson waited just four days after giving birth to their son to have sex—and that the only birth control they're using is condoms.

The conversation takes place with Bella's mother, Falen Vaughn, sitting right there, and the casualness of the entire exchange is what appears to have sent viewers over the edge.

“Did it hurt?” Falen asks in the clip, to which Bella, 15, responds, “frick yeah.” Falen retorted by telling her daughter she’s supposed to wait, with a producer asking if she's using protection. Bella explains that they are using condoms only, with Falen saying that the two don't like to. Later in the video, Johnson, 13, chimes in, explaining that they are using protection, but he’s still scared and doesn’t want to get Bella pregnant again.

The clip has since gone viral, with fans flooding social media demanding TLC pull the show entirely.

“4 days? Sadly? Literally cancel the show,” one commented, while another agreed, “I would ball my eyes out to hear this from my daughter.”

“This is super disturbing,” said a third.

A fourth begged, “TLC PLEASE go ahead an cancel Unexpected after this season because Bella & Hunter’s episodes made me puke in my mouth.”

What makes the backlash hit even harder is that this isn't the first time Bella, Hunter, and her parents have landed in hot water this season. Just last week, an episode sparked its own wave of outrage after a scene revealed that Bella's parents had allowed Hunter to shower with Bella just days after she gave birth. The moment prompted Bella's mother Falen to defend herself on TikTok, doubling down on her decision and telling critics that since Bella had already had sex and a baby, she saw no issue with Hunter helping her in the shower postpartum.

Falen's response only added fuel to the fire. "We're going to do a little debriefing about the episode that aired on Monday, since we have been getting a lot of hate for that, so let's just see if we can make them even madder!" she told followers. Bella, meanwhile, teased her own response video, acknowledging that viewers "are gonna hate that, but it's gonna make us a lot of money, so I'm excited about that!"Unexpected premiered on TLC in 2017 and follows the journeys of pregnant teenagers and their families as they navigate parenthood.

‘Dallas’ Diva Victoria Principal, 76, Is Ageless in Plane Selfie Almost 40 Years After Leaving the Show

Sun, 04/05/2026 - 12:03pm

Victoria Principal was a legendary beauty on Dallas, and she hasn't changed a bit!

The stunning actress, 76, who rose to fame as Pamela Barnes Ewing on the iconic TV series alongside legendary actors Larry Hagman and Linda Gray, spent nine years in her famous role. A brunette stunner for the ages, Principal has barely changed in the nearly 40 years since she departed the series, which followed the Texan Ewing family as they battled it out over oil. In a new plane selfie, Principal gazes out the window, and appears just as beautiful as her days on television during the '70s and '80s.

"Heading home. HAPPY EASTER!🐣," Principal captioned the photo, which showed her makeup-free and wearing glasses as she looked out the window of her plane.

What Does Victoria Principal Recall About Her Time on Dallas?

The actress knew she was dealing with something special when she auditioned for her role on Dallas.

“When I went in for the part on Dallas, I had already fallen in love with the show and with the part,” Principal told PEOPLE back in 2018. “So my feeling from the moment I read it was that it was incredibly special and that I really, really wanted to be a part of it. I could not imagine not being Pam.”

She got the job and skyrocketed to superstardom in the role. The series launched in 1978 and became a fan favorite.

“The first five years were some of the best television I’ve ever seen,” Principal continued. “And then after year seven, there was a definitive decline. At year seven, it was time for me to renegotiate my contract and I was very candid about my concern and my disappointment; that we had had such good writing and so many wonderful plots, and that when the time came to renegotiate the writers’ contracts, I felt that a number of writers had left because they had not gotten the right deal.”

Her character eventually died in a car accident, but Principal’s legacy lived on through reruns.
