What the 'King of the Hill' Cast Has Been Doing Since the Original Series Ended
Hank, Peggy, Bobby and the whole Arlen, TX crew are back as the King of the Hill revival returned to Hulu and Disney+ on Monday, July 20. Season 15 marks the second season of the animated reboot, following the sitcom's original run on FOX from January 1997 to September 2009.
Over the years, the series has featured a revolving door of high-profile guest stars, from Oscar winners (Matthew McConaughey, Renée Zellweger) to comedy icons (Betty White, Chris Rock) to music legends (Tom Petty,Snoop Dogg) and beyond. But the 10-episode new season focuses on our beloved King of the Hill regulars, including hardworking propane salesman Hank Hill (Mike Judge), his loyal wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy) and their now-twentysomething son Bobby (Pamela Adlon), as they face problems in the modern era.
Talking with Parade last season, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson shared the excitement of bringing back the original voice cast for the revival. “We were so blessed to have had the original cast members come back because they wanted to. Because they were a family, and they were all revisiting each other like you would a family reunion or family dinner, stepping into these characters again.”
Ahead of the 10-episode new season, let's catch up with the voice actors and see what the King of the Hill cast is up to these days.

Alongside Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation), series co-creator Mike Judge began developing King of the Hill while he was working on another iconic animated series: Beavis and Butt-Head, which he also created. But his contributions to KOTH extend onscreen as well: Judge voices several of the show's characters, including Jeff Boomhauer, Stuart Dooley and, of course, Hill family patriarch Hank. Along with the King of the Hill reprisal on Hulu, in which he reprises the role of Hank, Judge also created several other TV shows—including The Goode Family for ABC, Silicon Valley for HBO and Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus for Cinemax—since the original sitcom ended.

Though widely known for her iconic turns in movies like Sister Act,Soapdish and Hocus Pocus, Kathy Najimy is arguably most famous to TV fans as Peggy Hill, the pragmatic yet polarizing matriarch of the Hill family, a role she's currently reprising in the Hulu revival. “I’m so lucky that they’ve written this character that seems like it would be really challenging to do," the 69-year-old star—who also showed up in this year's animated flick Hoppers—told The Boston Herald ahead of the Season 15 premiere. "But she’s so real—and they’re so consistent with who she is, what her quirks are. What she loves and how she talks. And what her intentions are. It’s a very easy lift for me to fall into her world.”

Yes, this whole time, Hank and Peggy's son Bobby was being voiced by a grown woman: Pamela Adlon, to be exact, who took home a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance as the youngest Hill during the series' original run and is currently up for yet another Emmy for the first season of the streaming revival. (You'll find out if she wins when the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony takes place on Sept. 14.) Outside of Arlen, Texas, Adlon is known for her numerous contributions with controversial comic Louis C.K., including the series Lucky Louie, Louie and Better Things, the latter of which earned a Peabody.
Brittany Murphy Brittany Murphy's King of the Hill character was retired following the actress's death.Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic
Actress-singer Brittany Murphy—who film fans know from beloved flicks like Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Uptown Girls, among others—voiced the character of Luanne Platter, Peggy's naive niece who lives with the Hill family while her mother is in jail, for the entire O.G. King of the Hill run on FOX. However, Murphy tragically died at the age of 32 in December 2009, just a few months after the animated sitcom aired its series finale. Rather than recast Murphy's role in the Hulu revival, the powers that be decided to formally retire both the character of Luanne and her husband Lucky in honor of the late actress.
Johnny HardwickSadly, Brittany Murphy isn't the only member of the King of the Hill family that we've lost over the years: Johnny Hardwick, who not only was a staff writer, story editor and producer on the sitcom but also voiced the character of Dale Gribble for 257 out of 258 total episodes, passed away in August 2023 at the age of 64. At the time of his death, Hardwick had already recorded voice performances for the first six episodes of the King of the Hill revival on Hulu; in the remaining four episodes of Season 14, Dale was performed by Toby Huss. The episode "Any Given Hill-Day" was dedicated to Hardwick's memory.

If you've been watching the show of the season, Widow's Bay, you already know what Stephen Root has been up to lately: The prolific 74-year-old performer plays salty curmudgeon Wych Crawford in the Apple TV+ horror-comedy series. Along with King of the Hill—in which he voices several characters, including Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland—Root also popped up this year in television shows like the AMC horror anthology The Terror: Devil in Silver and animated series Strip Law and Regular Show The Lost Tapes. On the big screen, you've seen the Emmy nominee in The Wrecking Crew and Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice this year as well.
Toby Huss Toby Huss took over the role of Dale Gribble after Johnny Hardwick's death.Gilbert Flores/Variety/Getty Images
Toby Huss previously collaborated with King of the Hill co-creator Mike Judge on Beavis and Butt-Head (and its two spinoff animated films) before he joined the world of Hank, Peggy and company. While the show was on FOX, Huss voiced several characters, including Kahn Souphanousinphone, Ted Wassanasong and Cotton Hill; he later took over the role of Dale Gribble in the revival series following the death of Johnny Hardwick and will continue portraying the character in the fifteenth season. The 59-year-old actor popped up alongside his KOTH co-star Stephen Root in Widow's Bay this year and also starred in the latest seasons of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Four Seasons.

Brittany Murphy's onscreen Clueless love Breckin Meyer was also an Arlen, TX regular, voicing the character of pubescent Joseph Gribble from Seasons 5 through 13. However, due to the time jump in the Hulu revival, he does not voice the character in the new seasons, having been recast and replaced by writer-comedian Tai Leclaire, who portrays the now-adult Joseph. Meyer, meanwhile, is also well-known for his work on the Adult Swim animated sketch series Robot Chicken, which earned him five Emmy nominations.
Country Star Narrowly Avoids Massive Wardrobe Malfunction Mid-Performance
Ella Langley proved the show really does have to go on after nearly suffering a major wardrobe malfunction in front of thousands of fans over the weekend.
The 27-year-old country star was opening for Morgan Wallen in Baltimore when disaster struck just two songs into her set. Taking to her Instagram Stories the following day, Langley revealed just how close she came to an embarrassing onstage moment.
"Yesterday my entire dress came unzipped on song #2 in a 60 minute set in the pouring rain in a stadium full of people," she wrote.
But rather than letting it derail the performance, Langley quickly improvised. She threw on an oversized Baltimore Ravens jersey over her damaged dress and continued performing, earning cheers from the crowd. The purple jersey covered the unzipped gown while allowing part of her pink fringed skirt to peek out underneath.

“An icon.” another said, while a third replied, “love it.”
Others weren’t so keen on the jersey choice.
“Just lost a fan here. Steelers for Life!,” one quipped.
“Ella i used to love you until you put that jersey on GO STEELERS,” said another.
"No one, NO ONE chooses Baltimore," one replied.
The mishap came during an especially exciting stretch in Langley's career. Fresh off a chart-topping run and in the middle of her Dandelion Tour, the singer has been celebrating several major milestones on the road. After another recent stop in Hamilton, she reflected on the tour's success by sharing a series of photos on Instagram alongside the caption, "The biggest show of The Dandelion Tour so far," adding, "Thank you, Hamilton!"
Fans who haven't been able to catch Langley on the road yet will soon have another chance. The singer recently announced a 21-date fall extension of The Dandelion Tour, with the second leg kicking off August 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, before wrapping up on October 31 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Kevin Feige Reveals Adam Driver’s 'Long-Lived Tradition' of Rejecting Marvel Roles
Marvel Studios cannot seem to secure AdamDriver as their next superhero.
In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the studio’s president, Kevin Feige, shared that the actor has repeatedly rejected offers welcoming him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“It’s no secret we’d like to [work with Adam],” Feige shared. “But it’s a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes. That’s a long-lived tradition. He couldn’t be more cordial. He is usually upfront about how he is feeling.”
The Marvel head shared this tidbit at a time when the internet is filled with rumors about Driver playing Magneto in Marvel’s X-Men reboot. Feige claimed that they haven’t made any casting decisions for the film.
The 42-year-old actor has seen quite a successful career. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards, for Best Supporting Actor in BlacKkKlansman and for Best Actor in Marriage Story. He is well known for his portrayal of Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise in films such as The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Driver enjoyed his time in the Star Wars universe and would've reprised his role if given the opportunity. He told the Associated Press last year that he and director StevenSoderbergh worked on a film about Kylo Ren called The Hunt for Ben Solo. The movie was killed by Disney executives.
“I always was interested in doing another ‘Star Wars,’” Driver told the outlet. “I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen [Kennedy] had reached out. I always said: ‘With a great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second.’ I loved that character and loved playing him.”
Adding, “We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to BobIger and Alan Bergman, and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”
1981 One-Hit Wonder, Written About a Phone Number Scribbled On a Bathroom Wall (Maybe), Now Saves Lives
The phone number made famous by Tommy Tutone's 1982 hit "867-5309/Jenny" is now a cancer helpline. In March 2026, the Cancer Support Community and Gilda's Club repurposed the number as a resource for anyone impacted by cancer, turning one of the most prank-called digits in American history into a lifeline. Tommy Heath, 78, the vocalist who sang those numbers into pop culture history, is battling minor skin cancer himself and called the repurposing "incredibly meaningful."
Nobody agrees on where the number came from. That's the other story.
Tommy Heath says Jenny was real. A woman whose number he found, called, and dated. "I speak to her once in a while," he told ABC Audio in 2026. "We joke about having a reality show about what really happened."
His co-writer Alex Call has a completely different version. "I actually just came up with the 'Jenny' and the telephone number and the music and all that just sitting in my backyard," Call told American Songwriter. "There was no Jenny. I don't know where the number came from. I was just trying to write a four-chord rock song, and it just kind of came out."
Call even addressed the more compelling version directly. "Tommy Tutone's been using the story for years that there was a Jenny and she ran a recording studio and so forth. It makes a better story, but it's not true. That sounds a lot better than I made it up under a plum tree in my backyard."
And then there's co-writer Jim Keller, who told Guitar Player the label simply invented the story. "There was never a real Jenny, and none of us saw that number anywhere," Keller said. "Our label thought we should make up a good story about it, so we went with it."
Three people. Three versions. One number.
Whatever its origin, the number didn't stay in the song. It jumped out of the radio and into real life, and real life wasn't prepared for it.
In 2009, a New Jersey DJ who'd held onto his 867-5309 number tried to sell it on eBay. Bids reached $350,000. Before that, people who happened to have the number had been fielding prank calls from strangers for years. Many changed their numbers. Tommy Tutone never had another hit like it. The band faded. The number didn't.
The number has since appeared in Breaking Bad, The Office and Scrubs. It's been covered by dozens of artists, used in commercials, and referenced in films for four decades. A one-hit wonder's phone number became one of the most culturally persistent strings of digits in American history.
In 2026, Jenny's Number Answers for Something RealIn March 2026, the Cancer Support Community and Gilda's Club made it official. The number 867-5309 is now a cancer helpline. Call 272-867-5309 and someone real answers. Gilda's Club, which provides free cancer support to patients and their families, was named for Gilda Radner, the comedian who died of ovarian cancer in 1989. The number that spent 44 years ringing as a joke now rings as a lifeline.
Heath said it felt right immediately. "I gave a 'yes' as soon as they asked me, because we've all got to give back sometimes," he told ABC Audio.
He's 78. He has minor skin cancer. He knows what it means to get a call that helps.
"When we recorded this, none of us imagined that number would still be stuck in people's heads decades later," Heath told People. "If that little piece of pop culture can now help someone remember Cancer Support Community's helpline and connect them to real people, real community, and real support, that's incredibly meaningful to us."
Alex Call may have invented the number under a plum tree. Jim Keller says the label made it up. Heath says Jenny is real and still laughs about it. Nobody agrees and nobody will ever fully know. But in 2026, when you call 867-5309, someone real answers.
The number that spent 44 years ringing as a joke is now ringing as a lifeline.
Jenny, wherever she is or isn't, would probably approve.

That mix includes t.A.T.u.’s “All the Things She Said,” Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe in Anything,” and Cailin Russo’s “Bad Things,” mingling with Peter Peter’s originals “It’s You,” “Rivalry,” and “Heartbeat III.”
From shattering awards records to dominating streaming charts, Heated Rivalry has locked in wins across every major metric of television success.
Developed by Canada’s Crave and picked up by HBO Max, the series saw explosive streaming and viewership numbers upon its release in November 2025, reaching an estimated 11 million viewers in the U.S.
A classic enemies-to-lovers queer romance, Heated Rivalry unfolds over six episodes, following two elite professional hockey players—Shane Hollander, the golden boy of American hockey, and Ilya Rozanov, Russia’s arrogant and chaotic superstar—as they keep their romantic relationship secret for nearly a decade.

Helmed by showrunner Jacob Tierney, the series was adapted from Rachel Reid’s 2019 bestselling romance novel of the same name. The book is the second and widely regarded as the breakout novel in her six-part Game Changersseries.

Kids Who Grow up With Condescending Parents Often Develop These 7 Traits as Adults, Psychologist Says
Unfortunately, many individuals grew up with parents who were, well, less than stellar. Maybe you had an “eggshell parent” who was volatile. Maybe you were raised by a gaslighter, or your caregivers were emotionally immature. These are only a few examples.
If you’d put yourself into any of those categories, it might have contributed to certain traits you exhibit now, as an adult. Do people-pleasing, self-gaslighting or having walls up sound familiar? Again, those are a few of many examples. They make sense, too: Our childhood experiences can subtly affect us our entire lives. They shape our ways of perceiving and navigating the world.
Within this conversation, we can’t forget to address the effects of growing up with condescending parents. Feeling like you’re being “talked down to”—even though you are younger and perhaps less knowledgeable—can be hurtful, with possible ramifications on your mindset, perspective, feelings and behaviors, even into adulthood.
For further insight, validation and support, a psychologist shares seven common traits of people raised by condescending parents, what you need to know if this sounds like your experience and how to kickstart your healing journey. It’s not full-blown therapy—that’s needed, too—but it’s a start.
Related: We Asked 4 Psychologists the One Phrase That Escalates Every Argument—They All Said the Same Thing
Common Behaviors of Condescending ParentsCondescending people treat others like they are inferior—and unfortunately, that dynamic can exist in parent-child relationships.
“A parent who has an attitude of superiority often communicates with their child as if they were stupid,” says Dr. Shannon Franklin, PsyD, a licensed psychologist with Element Q Healing.
She lists examples of what that might entail, saying the parent might:
- Make fun of their child’s question.
- Be stern when correcting them.
- Disregard the child’s feelings.
- Use phrases like: “You’re so sensitive,” “You will understand when your time comes” or “Stop pretending to think you already know this."

7 Common Traits of People Raised by Condescending Parents, According to a PsychologistBesides flat-out making you feel bad in the moment, those experiences could have caused you to develop certain traits in adulthood. Dr. Franklin shares and explains seven key examples.
1. Chronic self-doubtConstantly questioning or second-guessing yourself? That’s one sign you grew up with condescending parents.
“As adults, many things that would normally seem like an easy decision to make now create stress for them,” Dr. Franklin says.
It makes sense: You were constantly made to think you were dumb and “overreacting.”
2. Fear of self-expressionWhether it’s about clothes, personality or how they talk, adults raised by condescending parents are often afraid to express themselves.
“When they were young, they may have had their opinions laughed at or shut off,” Dr. Franklin explains. “Now, they use silence as a method of feeling comfortable.”
3. People-pleasingThese adults are like chameleons in that they can mold themselves, typically into the people they think others want them to be. Their main goal is to keep others happy.
“Often, this is due to an early belief that to earn approval, he/she must [people-please],” Dr. Franklin says.
They may put their own needs aside in the process, she continues, in hopes of preventing others’ judgment or criticism.
Related: 7 Behaviors That People-Pleasers Don’t Even Realize They're Doing, a Psychotherapist Warns
4. PerfectionismDo you have a big fear of “messing up” or sounding uninformed? Do you feel inadequate and fight to ensure everything you do is mistake-free? You might be a perfectionist, and you might have grown up with condescending parents.
“In many cases, children who have been raised by overly critical parents will believe that all errors are shameful,” Dr. Franklin explains. “Therefore, as adults, perfection becomes an important goal for them, in part because they wish to be able to be judged favorably by others.”
Unfortunately, that pressure can create loads of stress and even lead to burnout.
5. Sensitivity to criticismSome of the above traits—like perfectionism and people-pleasing—also tie back to a sensitivity to criticism. This trait is certainly understandable, too, given that feedback can be hurtful, especially if it’s been weaponized against you.
Dr. Franklin explains that the critical parent “may have criticized them and made them believe that everything they did was wrong,” and that’s why the adult might now “react when they hear [someone] criticize anything about them.”
6. Difficulty trusting themselvesAdults who grew up with condescending parents may need other people to help them make or approve of decisions.
What’s particularly sad about this is it can “make it difficult for a child to develop a sense of self,” according to Dr. Franklin. For example, they might not know what they truly feel, want or dislike because of that implanted self-doubt.
7. OverexplainersLast but not least, these adults often overexplain their actions, decisions and feelings.
“This is due, in part, to the fact that many times as an adult, you will feel like others do not understand your feelings,” Dr. Franklin says. That may feel especially true when that was the case in your childhood.
Related: 8 Manipulative Parenting Habits That Still Affect You as an Adult, According to Psychologists
How To Heal, According to a PsychologistIf there’s one thing Dr. Franklin wants these adults to know, it’s this: “Your voice was never what caused problems for you. What was the problem is how you have been treated.”
To heal, she encourages noticing that inner critic’s voice and asking yourself, “Whose voice does this sound like?” Chances are, it’s not yours.
Additionally, she encourages talking to a therapist, practicing making small decisions and honoring your needs. Healing is possible for you, too—don’t forget or second-guess that.

"Oh my god, you're cute," she tells him in one clip, managing to sneak in a few quick photos and videos of the 50-year-old country star, who was dressed in a classic black tuxedo complete with a bow tie.
During another moment filmed from the backseat of a car, Stefani laughs, "It's our five-year anniversary, and Blake will not let me take any pictures of him, so it's just gonna be me, in my dress," as the camera briefly pans over to Shelton, who responds with a sheepish smile.

By the end of the evening, however, Shelton seemed to warm up to the camera. In a clip filmed on the drive home, Stefani excitedly says, "Look who I have," before turning the phone toward Shelton, who happily sings "This Is How We Do It." Wrapping up the night, she tells followers, "It was a really fun five-year anniversary, for me and Sheltonator, 11 years together."
The timing of the duo's latest video has also fueled some fan speculation. Because the anniversary celebration fell on the same day as Taylor Swiftand Travis Kelce’s widely discussed wedding festivities on July 3, some eagle-eyed followers believe Stefani and Shelton may have attended the event. Neither Stefani nor Shelton has addressed the speculation.
“Looks like y’all went to a certain wedding 😉 💍,” one fan theorized.
“Happy Anniversary! Is that New York…??? Did we go to a wedding for the wedding anniversary??? 🤔,” said a second.
A third said, “Happiest anniversary to you two cuties!!! You look stunning Gwen!!!!! 🤣🙈 not the ‘Blake won’t let me take any pictures of him!’”
On the day of their anniversary, the couple celebrated with matching Instagram tributes. Shelton shared a series of photos from their wedding day and wrote, "5 years and every day is better than the last… I love you @gwenstefani SHELTON!!!! Happy anniversary my pretty girl!!!!" Stefani also marked the milestone with a heartfelt Reel of special moments in their relationship. “5 years married to my forever 💐🤍 still making me laugh every day @blakeshelton gx,” she wrote in the caption.
'80s Rock Band Announces New Album 48 Years After Forming
Nearly five decades after first taking the stage, Girlschool is preparing to celebrate a major milestone the best way it knows how: with new music.
The pioneering British rock band has confirmed that it plans to release a new studio album in 2028 to mark its 50th anniversary. Guitarist and vocalist Kim McAuliffe shared the update in a recent interview, revealing that the band has already started discussing ideas for what will become its next full-length record.
Although details remain under wraps, McAuliffe said the group intends to spend 2027 writing before entering the studio, with the goal of having the album ready in time for the band's golden anniversary celebrations in 2028. The release would follow 2023's WTFortyfive?, which commemorated Girlschool's 45th year and earned praise for proving the band still had plenty of energy left in the tank.
The announcement comes as Girlschool continues to defy expectations.
Formed in 1978, the band emerged as one of the defining acts of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, standing alongside contemporaries such as Iron Maiden, Saxon, and Motörhead. Led by founding members Kim McAuliffe and drummer Denise Dufort, Girlschool quickly built a reputation for its hard-hitting blend of heavy metal and punk attitude, breaking barriers in a genre that was overwhelmingly dominated by men.
"We were too punk for the rock audience, and too rock for the punk audience," Dufort told The Guardian.
Albums including Demolition, Hit and Run, and Screaming Blue Murder helped establish the group as one of Britain's most respected hard rock acts, while songs such as "Race with the Devil," "Hit and Run," and "C'mon Let's Go" became genre staples. Along the way, the band forged a close friendship with Motörhead, frequently touring and collaborating with Lemmy and his bandmates.
Even after announcing that its 2024 trek would be its final full tour of North America, Girlschool has made it clear that retirement isn't on the agenda. Instead, the group has continued performing internationally while keeping its focus firmly on recording new material.
"In 1978, had somebody predicted Girlschool would still be around forty-five years later, I'd have told 'em they were stupid," McAuliffe told Louderin 2023. "In our twenties I remember the four of us promising that when we hit forty, no matter where we were in the world, we’d all meet up again and celebrate – nobody thinking for a moment that the band could still be going."
Forty-eight years after forming, Girlschool remains one of heavy musics true trailblazers. With a landmark anniversary on the horizon and another album already in the works, the legendary band is proving that its groundbreaking legacy is still being written.

FIFA Crops President Donald Trump Out of Spain’s World Cup Celebration Photo After Medal Ceremony
On Sunday, Spain defeated Argentina in the final of the 2026 World Cup, and it was President Donald Trump who presented the team with the trophy.
He handed it to star player Rodri, who lifted the trophy high in the air, with the rest of the team jumping in celebration. However, Trump then lingered on stage, standing right beside Spain at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Numerous photos of this iconic moment were snapped, and Trump was in many of them until he was ultimately ushered away.
In a photo shared by FIFA on social media to celebrate Spain's win, it was immediately noticeable that they strategically cropped out Trump, making it so it was just the team in the photo.
A little bit of Trump's suit can be seen on the side.

— FIFA World Cup (@FIFAWorldCup) July 19, 2026This comes after Trump was booed when he set foot on the field alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino. His friendship with Infantino has been subject to a lot of backlash throughout the tournament, specifically when he made a personal phone call, asking him to review the suspension of USA striker Folarin Balogun.
“All I did, I asked for a review because I didn’t think it was a foul,” Trump said at the time, defending his actions. “I saw the play, and I’m a person who loves sports and was a good athlete. That wasn’t a foul. That wasn’t even an infraction.”
A photo Spain posted also did not include Trump. But, the White House's official account shared a few photos on X, which showed Trump standing beside Spain after the trophy presentation.
"An EPIC @FIFAWorldCup in America comes to a close with President Donald J. Trump crowning the champions," they captioned the post. "The world came to watch, and America delivered. See you next time, FIFA ?"
Trump has already made it clear that he wants the United States to host again.

A Lego 'Star Wars' Collectible Worth Thousands Could Make a Comeback in 2027
A massively popular Lego Star Wars build is rumored to be making a comeback in 2027, revisiting one of the franchise's most storied locations from The Empire Strikes Back.
Originally released as a first-of-its-kind $100 set in 2003, the now-retired collectible is worth upwards of $10,000 on the resale market, making a potential new version one fans who never got their hands on it won't want to miss. And with more builds rumored to be in the works, this exciting release is shaping up to be one of Lego Star Wars' most anticipated drops in years.
Star Wars Turns 50, and Lego Might Bring Back Cloud CityWith the Star Wars franchise turning 50 and a slew of new themed builds rumored to be on the horizon, 2027 is shaping up to be a big year for Lego fans and Star Wars enthusiasts alike. Best of all, rumors are pointing to not one, but two Cloud City-inspired sets joining the lineup: an updated Bespin Duel display centered around one of the most memorable moments between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, along with a larger Cloud City build.
While details on each set are still scarce, the larger Cloud City set is expected to be the centerpiece of the lineup, bringing fans back to the iconic location with a brand-new take.

Why a Cloud City Comeback Is a Big Deal for Fans View this post on InstagramThe return to Cloud City gives fans a new look at one of the most beloved Lego Star Wars sets ever created, with the original 2003 version becoming one of the first builds to recreate a specific location from the films. Since leaving shelves, its value has only continued to skyrocket, with some sets now selling for thousands of dollars on the resale market.
Dedicated fans might remember Lego's last visit to Cloud City in 2018 with Betrayal at Cloud City, a massive 2,812-piece set that recreated several scenes from The Empire Strikes Back in one collector-focused build and originally retailed for $350. And while details surrounding the rumored new iteration remain under wraps, the possibility of another chance to experience Cloud City in a completely new way is already enough to have collectors scouring the internet for more details.
As of now, the rumored Cloud City build is expected to arrive in April 2027, though details on its price, piece count and final design are still limited. That said, the separate Bespin Duel set is also expected to arrive earlier in January 2027 with 718 pieces and a $79.99 price tag in the U.S.
If the rumors turn out to be true, 2027 could be a banner year for Lego Star Wars fans hoping to add Cloud City to their collections without having to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on retired sets. And while a new release could impact the value of older versions on the resale market, it would also give a new generation of fans the chance to experience one of the franchise's most beloved locations without breaking the bank.
Paris Hilton’s ‘Luxurious’ Floral Comforter Set Nails the LoveShackFancy Aesthetic for Just $40

The coquette aesthetic has officially graduated from fashion to home decor. Shoppers are trading plain white bedding for romantic florals, dainty bows, ruffled details, and vintage-inspired decor that look like they belong in a countryside manor or splashed across LoveShackFancy’s Instagram. The only problem? That dreamy aesthetic often comes with a price tag that can easily climb into the hundreds.
Thankfully, Walmart has an option that delivers the same feminine charm for far less. The Paris Hilton Full/Queen Coquette 3-Piece Floral Comforter Set is now on sale for just $40, down 20% from its original $50 price tag. With delicate florals, ribbon-inspired details, and a soft pastel palette, it captures the whimsical, coquette-inspired look that's taken social media by storm.
If you've been eyeing LoveShackFancy bedding but can't quite justify the price tag, this “luxurious” and “gorgeous” trio gives off a very similar vibe. The quilted microfiber is scattered with oversized cabbage roses, dainty wildflowers, and winding greenery that looks lifted from an antique botanical print. Delicate satin-look ribbon bows crisscross the design in a soft lattice, giving the pattern an unmistakably feminine, heirloom-inspired feel. A quilted texture adds another layer of charm, with the appearance of a treasured vintage quilt that's been lovingly passed down through generations. The set comes in two equally enchanting colorways: A rosy blush that's pure coquette and a soft powder blue that channels the effortless romance of an English garden in spring.
Every piece works together to create a perfectly layered, boutique-style bed. The reversible comforter flips to a coordinating solid blush or blue backing if you’d like to swap the look, while the matching quilted shams carry the same floral-and-bow motif across your pillows for a cohesive finish. Made from smooth polyester microfiber that's Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, the lightweight fabric feels cool against the skin, but is easy to machine wash and durable enough for everyday use.

1970 Rock Song, Lasting Nearly 13 Minutes, Remains a Classic 56 Years Later
When Emerson, Lake & Palmer released their self-titled debut album in 1970, they wasted little time showing listeners what kind of band they intended to be.
Early in the album came "Take a Pebble," a sprawling composition that runs for nearly 13 minutes and blends delicate balladry, jazz improvisation, classical influences, and progressive rock into one unforgettable performance. More than 50 years later, it remains one of the trio's signature recordings.
The song was primarily written by Greg Lake before Emerson, Lake & Palmer officially came together.
Lake had originally developed the piece while he was still a member of King Crimson, but it found its true home after he joined forces with keyboard virtuoso Keith Emerson and drummer Carl Palmer to form the progressive rock supergroup in 1970.
"I wrote this after Christmas with Keith when there were just the two of us and Carl hadn't joined us," Lake told Melody Maker. "It started out as a folk guitar thing, then Keith added piano and I used a bass. The solos weren’t there to start with but Keith wrote a solo and I decided to put in a guitar solo as well. It was a solo I had written about five years ago and never had a chance to use before."
Rather than following a conventional rock structure, "Take a Pebble" unfolds in distinct movements.
It begins as a gentle piano-led ballad featuring Lake's warm, reflective vocals before evolving into an extended instrumental showcase. Emerson's expressive piano improvisations draw heavily from jazz and classical traditions, while Palmer's subtle percussion provides a dynamic foundation as the music gradually builds toward its dramatic conclusion.
"'Take A Pebble' was quite amazing," Emerson wrote in the 2016 reissue of the album. "There's a lot of piano work in there and improvisation. I remember Carl [Palmer, drummer] had his brushes out. He wasn't painting at the time, but he did a lot of brush work on the snare drum, while I played an ostinato figure. I played one theme with the right hand and we took it from there. At the beginning of the piece I scrape the piano strings. I'd hold down various notes on the grand piano while strumming the strings. It's a technique Keith Jarrett first used and makes a great effect."
The composition immediately established what Emerson, Lake & Palmer would become known for.
At a time when most rock songs rarely exceeded a few minutes, "Take a Pebble" embraced complexity without sacrificing emotion. The band demonstrated that virtuoso musicianship and accessible songwriting could coexist, helping lay the foundation for the progressive rock boom that would define much of the early 1970s.
Although it was never released as a single, the song became a centerpiece of Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s live performances.
On stage, the trio frequently expanded it even further, allowing Emerson and Palmer to stretch the instrumental passages into lengthy improvisations that differed from one concert to the next. Those performances helped cement the song’s reputation as one of the band’s most ambitious and rewarding works.
More than five decades after its release, "Take a Pebble" remains an essential part of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's legacy. Its graceful blend of introspective songwriting and fearless musical exploration continues to captivate progressive rock fans, proving that some of the genre’s greatest achievements were never intended for radio.
Fifty-six years later, the nearly 13-minute epic still stands as one of progressive rock's defining compositions, a timeless classic that helped announce the arrival of one of rock's most influential supergroups.

1975 Folk Ballad, Written About a Rock Legend, Became a Heavy Metal Anthem
“Diamonds and Rust” exists in two very different musical worlds. In one, it’s a folk ballad written and performed by Joan Baez; in the other, it’s become a heavy metal anthem covered by some of the best in the studs-and-leather business.
Released in April 1975 as the title track off Baez’s 16th studio album, “Diamonds and Rust” has an interesting backstory. Baez started writing the song in 1974, and a telephone conversation with Bob Dylan months later helped the ballad really take shape.
Dylan called from a phone booth in the Midwest while he was promoting Blood on the Tracks. He wanted to read the lyrics to his newly written “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts” aloud to her.
The unexpected call rang nostalgic for Baez, as the sound of Dylan’s voice triggered a flood of emotions, both beautiful (diamonds) and bitter (rust), reminding her of their platonic and romantic relationship that played out years earlier in Greenwich Village.
“Her song wasn’t about him initially. But she was writing about him now,” American Songwriter shared.
“Diamonds and Rust” became Baez’s second-highest charting song. Peaking at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, the mournful and reflective track trails only “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” which climbed all the way to No. 3 in 1971.
The song became a folk standard, but because it remained so closely associated with Baez, later versions by Judy Collins and Mary Chapin Carpenter featured Baez herself in duet performances. From there, though, the song showed how strong writing can transcend singers, and even genres.
Fin Costello / Getty Images
In 1977, British rockers Judas Priest reimagined the folk ballad into a heavy metal staple with high-energy guitars and a kinetic tempo. Their version of “Diamonds and Rust” was initially released on their third studio album, Sin After Sin, while a heavier version appears on their 1979 live record, Unleashed in the East.
An earlier version of the song was cut during their 1975 sessions for Sad Wings of Destiny, but it was ultimately left off the album. That version surfaced later on compilations like The Best of Judas Priest and remasters of Rocka Rolla.
In July 1985, Rob Halford, the lead singer for Judas Priest, ran into Baez backstage at RFK Stadium in Philadelphia during the U.S. run of Live Aid. Dressed in all black leather and sporting a dog collar around his neck, The Financial Times reported, the heavy metal icon shook her hand and asked if she was aware that Judas Priest had covered her song.
“I laugh and say in his ear, 'Yes, I heard it long ago,'” she wrote in her memoir, per the Times, “and his manager is standing 2 feet away saying, ‘I don’t believe this.’”
The song has remained a constant in Judas Priest’s live sets. Though they played it as a heavy rock song for decades, in more recent tours, they've performed it as a mostly acoustic version honoring the original.
The song continued its unlikely journey through the rock world, with artists including Great White and Finnish power metal band Thunderstone recording heavy metal versions, while Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple revisited the ballad in a more faithful folk arrangement with Blackmore’s Night.
"It’s been a strange journey for a song about one very public relationship," the Times wrote. "But great writing can be universal, and now 'Diamonds and Rust' is only about Dylan when Baez sings it. For everyone else, it is about something we all share: the past."

1976 No. 1 Hit, the Group’s Only-Ever Chart-Topper, Named ‘Greatest Song of the ’70s’
The '70s were a time full of groundbreaking hits from exceptional artists who have redefined the music industry, and one track has been named as the greatest song of the decade.
"Dancing Queen" is the lead single of Swedish music icons ABBA's fourth studio album, Arrival, which was released on Aug. 15, 1976. It has gone on to become one of the band's most recognizable hits. A chart-topper in over 15 countries around the globe, "Dancing Queen" soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking it the group's only U.S. number-one song in its storied career. In the United Kingdom, "Dancing Queen" enjoyed a six-week run on the top of the Singles Chart.
Smooth Radio previously ranked the track at No. 1 on its list of "100 greatest songs of the 1970s," noting that it was also reportedly Queen Elizabeth II's favorite song.
"It's often difficult to know what will be a hit," singer Agnetha Fältskog said of the track. "The exception was 'Dancing Queen.' We all knew it was going to be massive."
Bandmate Benny Andersson agreed, calling it "one of those songs where you know during the sessions that it's going to be a smash hit."
Also in 2023, "Dancing Queen" surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. To date, the song has over 2 billion streams on the music streaming platform, solidifying its status as one of the most beloved ABBA hits.
Formed in 1972, the group — Andersson, Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and Björn Ulvaeus — skyrocketed to global fame following its win of the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, representing Sweden with its smash "Waterloo." Since first achieving superstardom in the mid-'70s, ABBA’s hits have reached a new audience, inspiring next generation with a Broadway musical and two movies with an all-star cast that includesMeryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, and Pierce Brosnan.
