Gwen Farrell was an actress and boxing referee who had a recurring role on the hit TV series, M*A*S*H. According to Forbes, the actress recently died of natural causes in Sherman Oaks on April 30. She was 93.

Her family announced the news on a GoFundMe page this week, hoping to raise money to cover the cost of her funeral and burial expenses. They stated, “Gwendolyn ‘Gwen’ Yancey Farrell was born in Austin, Texas, and lived a life full of strength, character, and quiet resilience. She was the daughter of Lovie Yancey, founder of Fatburger, and carried forward that same determination and independence throughout her life.”

Farrell appeared in 26 episodes of M*A*S*H from 1972 until 1983. She played multiple nurse roles, including Nurse Butler, Nurse Wilson, Nurse Able, and Nurse Gwen as well as a few additional uncredited nurse roles. Throughout her career, she also appeared in projects like Starsky and Hutch, Billy Jack Goes to Washington, Black Gunn, Soylent Green, Earthquake, and The Towering Inferno.

In addition to her acting career, Farrell went on to become a referee in the boxing world. She was the first female to referee a world title fight during a match between Pedro Ortega and Luis “Yory Boy” Campas. In 2005, she was entered into the World Boxing Hall of Fame.

As her family stated, “In 1980, Gwen stepped into the boxing world as a referee in California, a space where women were rarely seen at the time. With confidence, fairness, and unwavering composure, she earned the respect of fighters, trainers, and fans alike. She didn’t just do the job; she broke barriers and proved that strength comes in many forms.”

They continued, “But beyond her accomplishments, Gwen was so much more to her family. She was a grandmother, a guiding light, and a steady source of love and wisdom. She had a way of making those around her feel supported, understood, and cared for without needing recognition.”

At this time, the GoFundMe in memory of Gwen Farrell Adair’s legacy has reached over $1,000 of its $13,000 goal.

Banksy has officially claimed a new, unsolicited sculpture in the heart of London, choosing a high-traffic island in Waterloo Place to make his latest statement. The work depicts a man striding purposefully off a plinth, his entire face and vision smothered by a billowing, heavy flag.

Positioned just off The Mall and situated between statues of historical giants like Florence Nightingale and Edward VII, the piece arrived with the artist’s signature and a characteristically dry explanation: “There was a bit of a gap.”

The Associated Press reports that the monument appeared in the early hours of Wednesday morning and while his signature was scrawled on the base, Banksy waited until Thursday to officially claim the work on social media.

The reaction was instantaneous, with the post racking up hundreds of thousands of likes within hours. While Banksy’s own caption was a characteristically brief nod to the "gap" in the architecture, his 14 million followers filled the comments with deep dives into the sculpture's meaning.

One of the most shared comments was a verbatim post of the poem "Flag" by John Agard, a biting critique of nationalism that many felt served as the unofficial soundtrack to the artwork. The poem describes a flag as "just a piece of cloth," before concluding with the chilling instruction to "blind your conscience to the end"—a direct mirror to the blindfolded figure now standing in Waterloo Place.

Other fans were quick to praise the artist’s ability to remain relevant and stealthy. One user noted the signature timing of the drop, stating, “I love that he appears when enough time has passed to forget, and arrives with full force unnoticed.” The political undertones of the work—situated so close to the halls of power in Westminster—were not lost on his audience. One follower described it as “A compelling statement on collective blindness—forward motion without vision, without preparation. Really powerful.”

Meanwhile, others took a more defiant stance on the inevitable controversy the piece will stir among traditionalists, with one popular comment simply declaring, “If the old white guy doesn’t like it, you can guarantee it’s good.”

Its placement near the Crimean War Memorial has led many onlookers to interpret the "Flag Man" as a biting commentary on blind nationalism and the political sleepwalking of the modern era.

This latest installation follows a series of high-profile, politically-charged works, including the controversial mural at the Royal Courts of Justice last September. While that piece—depicting a judge looming over a bloodied protester—was swiftly removed by security, the new Waterloo Place sculpture currently remains in its "gap," drawing massive crowds just steps away from the halls of power in Westminster.

Powerless by Lauren Roberts currently sits among the most popular Teen and Young Adult books listened to on Spotify, and the third novel in the series, Fearless, isn’t that far behind it! Originally self-published, Roberts is now working with Simon & Schuster, which has led to a dramatized audiobook of her first novel.

Roberts chatted with Parade about the development of her novel into this immersive form, sharing, “It was amazing when they brought this to me about how I felt about a dramatized adaptation. I was immediately like, ‘yes, please!’”

This is more than just a few new actors being added in to help tell the story. The team behind the creation brought sound effects, music, and more, making the whole story a movie for the ears, and Roberts got to be part of the process.

“I feel so honored that I was very much part of the process. I got to read through the script, which is Powerless, the book, but they were adding sound effects and slight tweaks. The team that handled it did it with such care, and I was there every step of the way.”

The best thing for the listeners of the original audiobook, which is still very much worth listening to, is that the voices of leads Kai and Paedyn haven’t changed. Chase Brown and Cecily Bednar Schmidt were cast as the two leads for the mesmerizing new adaptation, and it’s certainly something that made Roberts happy: “When I was given options for the regular audiobook, as soon as I heard them, I knew it was them.”

Roberts’ TikTok followers will also be able to hear a very familiar voice in the dramatized story — the author herself, “I was absolutely stoked when they asked me to voice Tealah; it was so insanely cool.”

It turns out that she had a lot of fun in the recording studio, and she’s certainly shared some of that on her social channels. She continues to connect with the audience that helped make her famous and gave her the opportunity to shine. In fact, we went into how TikTok changed the game for a lot of creators who wanted to be authors, whether indie or traditional.

“It’s definitely been such a wild ride,” Roberts gushed, as we went into her going from a regular TikTok creator talking about all things books to an author sharing her own world and wishes, “When I had my own book idea, they supported me, and they wanted it to become fruitful. So, I brought them along on the journey, which was really special. It’s such a beautiful community of people who were looking for the same thing. They all wanted to escape into these different worlds together.”

The first two years of TikTok were a different time compared to now. Social media has become a whole new beast again, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s allowed for more people to find their tribe and connect with like-minded people. It’s also opened up opportunities that people would never have had a chance at before.

However, there is a fine line between connection and entitlement. We’re seeing more and more people have to step back, especially when they’re creating a story. They sometimes have to shut out the voices, or they’ll create boundaries that help them to remain committed to the story that they want to tell.

Roberts is still interactive with her fans, but she does share that she has boundaries, “I really tried to stay in tune with what people were wanting, especially if it’s something that doesn’t alter the course of what I was already planning to do. I do want to put up boundaries of the story that I want to tell, and I don’t want to be swayed in that.”

The elements that she does add in are certain scenes or tropes that people will scream about wanting to see represented in a story. However, there has been a time that she added a full fan theory into her story. It was so good not to include, and she wanted to show her fans that she was listening to them. Of course, it wasn’t right, but it was fun to include all the same.

“It was really fun with Fearless, but I saw so many fan theories that were insane. They were so good. There was one fan theory that was so good that I knew it wasn’t going to happen, but I ended up putting it into Fearless to make people think they had figured it out, when that wasn’t the answer at all. It was fun to have that direct connection to the readers and show them that I’d seen them talking and, while it wasn’t right, it was cool.”

When it comes to tropes, of course, the ones that people were screaming to her about were those in the romantasy genre. This is a combination of fantasy and romance, where the two genres have an equal footing in the story, and it’s one that has suddenly boomed within the market.

Now, you can’t turn anywhere without seeing it, whether it’s Sarah J. Maas with her ACOTAR series or Elisa Kova’s A Deal with the Elf King. What is it about this genre that has so many people reading and writing within it?

Roberts shared her thoughts, looking back at the time that the shift started happening.

“I remember the shift happening during the time of the pandemic,” she shared thoughtfully, “And I think it’s the beauty of equal parts fantasy and romance. Romantasy really blended these two things that readers have wanted to see in equal parts for a long time, and it’s really appealing to that escapism part of ourselves.”

People want equal parts fantasy and burning romance, bringing the tension both in the action and in the bedroom. These two characters are both surviving in the wild, figuring their lives out in the bedroom, and it becomes all-encompassing for the readers.

It also continues to allow for the development of artwork, specifically maps. Anyone who knows me will know that I love putting the maps of my favorite universes on wooden blocks. I have Westeros and Essos from Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom’s look of England of the past, and the map of Panem from The Hunger Games, so I had to ask if there was a way to get the Powerless world put on one.

“I do have a map!” Roberts was so happy to tell me, and it turns out that this map was something she initially created but found others to help transform it into something that could be put up on walls. The initial sketch she described as “horrific,” but she worked with a traditional artist who developed something impressive.

The same happened with the cover art, which she initially drew on her phone, “and then I sent it to the cover design artist, and we worked really closely together to make the Powerless cover what it is.”

Since then, the world of Powerless has grown considerably, and part of that is working with a traditional publishing house. This hasn’t just changed in terms of the number of eyes (and ears!) her work gets out to, but also the time that she now has available.

“I was so used to having to do everything on my own and being able to call the shots. Now I just get to spend my time writing.”

It’s not always easy to hand over control to someone else, but Roberts needed to so that she could write. It helped that she had a team willing to keep her involved.

“It’s amazing to work with a group of people who I can trust, and who trust me and my vision. That’s why doing this adaptation felt so seamless, because I knew there was just a lot of trust there.”

Now, all of this could lead to a TV series. There is something in development, but it’s so early days that there’s nothing to share. However, when I asked her preference between movie and TV, she definitely wants to see it adapted on the small screen, because “there’s just so much that you lose in a movie, and I want to be able to get into the nitty-gritty of the characters and scenes.”

For those who can’t wait for a TV show adaptation and need something that is like a movie, the dramatized version of Powerless is now available.

How to Use Plate Holders From IKEA to Display Books on Your Wall

DIY artist Azeitona (@a2eitona) recently shared a video of a floating bookshelf hack on Instagram, an idea she credits to interior creator Medina Grillo (@grillodesigns).

This hack centers around a product from IKEA: the OSTBIT plate holder ($5.99). This bamboo dish holder features seven pairs of wooden dowels coming out of its base at 90 degree angles. Once you hang this product on your wall, each pair of dowels can be used as a shelf to hold one book.

According to Azeitona, here's what you'll needfor this DIY:

• OSTBIT plate holders from IKEA (however many you'd like)
• Command Picture Hanging Strips (ideally, ones that can hold a lot of weight)
• Books

And here's how to put together your floating bookshelf:

1. Apply Command strips all along the base of the plate holder.
2. Follow instructions from Command on how to attach these to your wall — you'll probably need to clean your wall before adhering the plate rack. Make sure the dowel "shelves" are completely horizontal.
3. Wait 24 hours for the strips to cure.
4. Place one book on each set of dowels.

Azeitona stacked two of these plate racks on her wall, but you can use as many as you'd like.

In the comments, plenty of people complimented the hack.

"so nice! I will definitely do this😍," someone commented on her video. "Omg I wanna do this as a CD holder," another commenter added. "Love it! Definitely trying this 🙌," someone else wrote.

Another group of commenters who tried this hack noted that while it looks great, it's best for "skinny hardback cover books" since the dowels could impact the shape of softcover books.

All that being said, some others in the comments were concerned that this wouldn't hold up.

"Cute but you know thats gonna fall down one night at 2am 😭," someone commented. "I’ve always DREAMED of my hardbacks thumping the floor at 2AM 🥹🥹," another commenter joked.

"The strips might be rated for the weight, but the wall paint might not take it well, so in case you're thinking of doing this, it's worth it to add multiple strips. Or drill a hole, but you do you," someone else suggested.

About five weeks after Azeitona posted her video, someone asked her in the comments if it fell. She replied: "still up !"

That said, make sure to be careful when trying this hack at home, especially if you have kids or animals, and don't hang your books over anything breakable.

Long before the hype surrounding mystery thrillers, the 1957 film Witness for the Prosecution captivated audiences with its unique and masterful blend of suspense and courtroom drama.

Decades after its release, the movie has earned a lasting spot among the all-time greats.

In a list unveiled by Rotten Tomatoes, a renowned review-aggregation website for film and television, the Billy Wilder-directed film was named among the Best Movies of All Time.

The rankings were based on the number of critic reviews for a film, as well as the Popcorn Meter score, or the percentage of audience members who rated a movie or TV show positively.

Joining the top 300 list was Witness for the Prosecution, securing its place among the greatest of all time.

The movie, based on a short story by British author Agatha Christie, centers around the trial of Leonard Vole, played by Tyrone Power. He is accused of murdering the eccentric, wealthy widow Emily French, portrayed by Norma Varden.

The only alibi he has is his wife Christine Vole, portrayed by Marlene Dietrich.

With the film holding a score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.4 rating on IMDb, the mystery thriller is also known for having “the greatest plot twists in history.”

What is the Plot Twist in Witness for the Prosecution?

Agatha Christie fully lived up to her reputation as the undisputed Queen of Mystery, with Witness for the Prosecution keeping audiences on the edge of their seats through its unexpected twists and turns.

The story delivers what critics describe as a rapid-fire series of "staggering" revelations, starting with Christine’s calculated sacrifice.

After Leonard is found not guilty, it is revealed that his wife acted against him in court and deliberately gave misleading testimony to help her husband be acquitted.

The second unexpected twist reveals Leonard as the actual murderer rather than a victim.

This marks a successful deception on his part because Leonard had manipulated his wife’s love all along to escape justice.

The final turning point comes with Leonard’s confession that he is abandoning his wife for a younger woman.

At this point, Christine realizes she has been used and discarded, and in revenge, she kills Leonard by stabbing him in the courtroom.

The movie received six major nominations at the 30th Academy Awards and five nods at the 1958 Golden Globe Awards, taking home the Best Supporting Actress award for Elsa Lanchester.

Sheena Easton’s “9 to 5” is more commonly known as “Morning Train” because the song title was changed in the US and Canada to avoid confusion with the Dolly Parton hit of the same name. “Morning Train” came from Easton’s 1981 album, Take My Time. However, it was released as a single in 1980 and went on to become the biggest hit of her career. The song was certified gold and reached No. 1 on the US pop and adult contemporary charts. It also reached the top of the Billboard pop charts and remained there for two weeks, starting its run 45 years ago today.

The music video for the song was filmed on the Bluebell Railway, which ran between East and West Sussex in England. When asked about what the success of the song felt like by Classic Pop Mag, she said, “I honestly don’t recall what it felt like. There was so much going on, with so much promotion to do, that I didn’t have time to really take it all in.”

"Morning Train" has appeared in many different films and television shows throughout the years. The most notable was when it appeared on the hit NBCsitcom, Seinfeld, two separate times. In season 7, during an episode titled “The Bizarro Jerry,” the song played while a montage of Kramer’s work experience was shown. It appeared again the following season in an episode called “The Butter Shave,” playing while George commuted to his job.

The song also appeared in the 2004 comedy, EuroTrip. It played when two characters entered a fictional British pub in London, and were forced to sing along to it. It was also sung by Eric Cartman in South Park during season 5.

Easton rose to fame when she was featured on the reality TV show, The Big Time: Pop Singer in 1980. This was a British series that documented her journey from being an unknown singer to signing a record deal with EMI. Throughout her career, she won several Grammy Awards and collaborated with big names like Prince, Kenny Rogers, and Babyface.

Easton has not released a new album since 2000. When speaking about how tough the industry is, she has said, “You’re expected to come out of the box with a hit and keep going – and there’s so much self-promotion you have to do.” Now 67, she still performs occasional shows.

A “rare” 1960s sitcom that fans still call one of the best ever is coming back to television.

Starting on Tuesday, May 5, Car 54, Where Are You? will join FETV’s weekday lineup, airing back-to-back episodes Monday through Friday from 8:10 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. ET, according to the network’s newsletter.

The series, which originally aired on NBC from 1961 to 1963, followed mismatched New York City police officers Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon as they patrolled the fictional 53rd precinct in the Bronx. Played by Joe E. Ross and Fred Gwynne, the duo became known for their offbeat chemistry—Toody loud and impulsive, Muldoon tall, quiet and methodical—as they stumbled their way through cases with a mix of luck and persistence.

Despite running for just two seasons, the show built a loyal following that has endured for decades. When FETV shared the news on Facebook, fans quickly flooded the comments with praise.

“One of my all-time favorite sitcoms. Vastly underrated when the subject of great shows comes up,” one viewer wrote.

Another called it “the best sitcom ever,” while others celebrated its return as a rare opportunity to watch a series that hasn’t been widely available on television in recent years.

That scarcity is part of what makes the revival notable. Car 54, Where Are You? has cycled through syndication over the decades, but it’s no longer part of the current lineup on METV or Catchy Comedy, making FETV the only place on broadcast or cable TV to find it right now. As an NBC property, it is also available on the Peacock streaming service.

Created by Emmy-winning writer and director Nat Hiken, the show stood out for its sharp writing and its depiction of a diverse New York City neighborhood at a time when television rarely reflected that reality. It also helped launch the careers of several familiar faces, including Gwynne, who would later become widely known as Herman Munster.

Critics have long argued that Car 54, Where Are You? was ahead of its time. Critic Bill Gibrondescribed it as a key step in the evolution of the modern sitcom, noting that creator Nat Hiken blended theatrical comedy with a more cinematic, single-camera style that allowed for faster pacing and more inventive storytelling. He also pointed to the show’s unusually diverse depiction of New York City, which reflected the real social fabric of the time in a way most early-1960s series did not. NPR critic Lloyd Schwartz similarly praised its mix of humor and realism, calling certain episodes “one of the most hilarious things” he had ever seen on television.

Even decades later, the show’s reputation has held strong among both critics and fans. A 2011 Wall Street Journal feature tied to the DVD release noted that Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner wasm among the show's devoted viewers—an unusual endorsement for a half-hour network comedy.

Now, more than 60 years after its debut, Car 54, Where Are You? is getting another run, giving longtime fans a chance to revisit it and new viewers a chance to discover why it’s still remembered as something special.

Mykelti Brown Padron has opened up about one of the most speculated fan topics in recent Sister Wives history, the state of her father, Kody Brown, and his legal wife, Robyn Brown's marriage.

The reality star appeared on the podcast From Cults to Consciousness, where she opened up about all things related to TLC's Sister Wives. She also shared details about the status of Robyn and Kody's marriage, which continues to generate chatter since his trio of spiritual divorces from Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown.

Podcast host Shelise Ann Sola shared a fan question with Mykelti. It read, "How long will Robyn stay with Kody?"

She responded, "I'm assuming you mean stay married to my dad. I do not foresee her ever leaving."

"No, not at all. I think Robyn has a very happy, comfortable, cush life," the reality star continued.

She added, "But now, those have settled a lot. And I think they're really enjoying their marriage again, and I don't foresee her leaving at all. She wants this big, beautiful polygamy thing, but she's never gonna get that again. They're not ever gonna live polygamy again."

Tony Padron, Mykelti's husband, weighed in on the topic as well. He asked, "Wouldn't it have already happened?"

He added, "They got through three divorces, she stayed with him. He wasn't the best, said some mean things and did some not-so-great stuff."

Tony concluded that Robyn stayed with Kody "even though he hurt his kids emotionally. What's gonna topple that, right? I think they're just committed to the end now."

Grammy nominee Post Malone will not be hitting the road as scheduled. The crossover artist announced on Friday, May 1, that he is postponing the start of his upcoming "Big Ass Stadium Tour."

"Hey there party people. Let me first kick this mofo off by saying — hope everyone out there is having a kickass day and spending time doing what they love with the people they love," he shared via his Instagram Story. "Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what's possible, isn't really lining up."

The "Sunflower" artist went on to say that his promised "double album" will not be ready in time for the start of his tour.

"Truth is, I promised y'all beautiful people new music, and I don't have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain't ready for tour just yet, so I'm making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done," he added.

The "Big Ass Stadium Tour" featuring country artist Jelly Roll was set to kick off in El Paso on May 13. His shows in Waco, Texas, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Oxford, Mississippi, Birmingham, Alabama, and Tampa, Florida, have also been canceled.

The tour is now set to start June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"I'm so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y'all," Post continued. "That THAT being said, we been making some badass s--t for this double album...and I can't wait to perform for y'all again."

The two common mistakes that come up from every expert: using masks too often and leaving them on too long. Both lead to over-drying, which can actually trigger more oil production. More is not more here.

They land somewhere between once and three times a week depending on the formula and your skin's current state. Dr. Kobets recommends starting with one to three times weekly, watching closely for signs of irritation. 

Please note: If you're already using prescription topicals, Dr. Lee recommends skipping additional OTC actives entirely at first to avoid unnecessary irritation. This 13,500-square-foot flagship in Terminal 4 has completely changed the pre-flight ritual for New Yorkers. "The Capital One Lounge in JFK is iconic not only for its 24/7 operations and flagship-sized 13,500 square feet, but also for its cheesemonger, where you can enjoy a 45-minute cheese tasting via NYC’s own Murray’s Cheese," says Hull. For those looking to fully lean into the "out of office" spirit, the experience doesn't end with artisanal dairy. "And don’t worry about getting thirsty, they can do some wine pairings, too," Hull notes.

Best lounge for an actually good meal: Capital One Landing in DCA

At Reagan National, the typical airport buffet has been replaced by a genuine sit-down culinary experience that rivals the city's best bistros. "Many lounges are upping their culinary game as of late, but it is hard to beat the Capital One Landing in DCA, which has a tapas and beverage menu brought to you by the Jose Andres Group with menu items such as carne asada con mojo verde and gazpacho," Hull observes. The result is a total shift in the traveler's perception of "terminal food." Hull notes, "Here, you might even forget you are in an airport ‘lounge’ you got into with your credit card and think you are in a nice restaurant."

Traveling with children can be an endurance test, but this Philadelphia location is designed to be a sanctuary for the whole family rather than just a quiet business center. "The Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHL is an all-around winner, but it is an especially great match for families since it has something for everyone, ranging from a beer garden for adults to a retro arcade for the bigger kids and even a playroom for the smaller travelers," says Hull. By creating distinct zones, the lounge ensures that every traveler has a space to decompress before boarding.

Best lounge for plane spotting: Delta Sky Club at LAX

For those who find peace in the movement of the tarmac, the new Delta Sky Club at LAX offers a front-row seat to one of the world's busiest runways. "In terms of interesting aircraft and a great outdoor view, complete with an entire bar and retractable roof, the best lounge for plane spotting is the Delta Sky Club at LAX with its outdoor Sky Deck," says Hull. The outdoor terrace allows visitors to enjoy the Southern California sun and a cocktail while watching massive wide-body jets move just feet away.

Best lounge for a long layover: Delta One Lounge at JFK

When a layover stretches into several hours, the difference between a standard club and a true flagship lounge becomes apparent. Hull highlights United’s “Club Fly” and Capital One’s network as the "tops for their grab-and-go offerings that you can toss in a to-go bag and enjoy on your next flight when you don’t have time to linger." These locations ensure you don't have to choose between a hot meal and making your boarding group.

Best lounge for a quick sit-down meal: Amex Sidecar in Las Vegas

A new concept for 2026, the Amex Sidecar is a "speakeasy-style" companion to the main Centurion lounge, built specifically for the traveler on a clock. "This new lounge concept is designed for travelers within 90 minutes of departure and offers excellent menu items, with a goal of serving them within about 8 minutes of ordering," Hull explains. It offers a refined, restaurant-style experience without the risk of missing your gate.

Best lounge for a toast to a great trip: Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAS

Ending a trip to the Strip deserves one final bit of Vegas-style glamour, and the top floor of the newest Sapphire lounge delivers. "The new Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAS has a gold-clad Champagne parlor on its top floor (it is Vegas, after all) that is the perfect spot to order a glass of bubbly or enjoy a seasonal spritz from the bar cart service and give a toast to a great trip," says Hull. It provides a celebratory atmosphere that serves as the perfect bookend to a desert getaway.

As airport lounges reach record capacity, the strategy for getting past the velvet rope has evolved. To maximize your card stack this year, keep these tips from Nick Ewen in mind:

• Watch the Guest Policy: "Chase Sapphire lounges are currently the only issuer lounges that ‘will include two free guests moving forward’," notes Ewen. In contrast, both Amex and Capital One (as of Feb. 1, 2026) have moved toward charging fees for guests.
• Prioritize Real-World Value: Don't just get a card for the "buzz." Ewen suggests looking at how a card fits your actual bills: "Identify the actual, real-world value you’d get on a card to decide which is ‘best’ for you," he says, noting that if a card covers streaming services you already pay for, it significantly offsets the annual fee.
• Match Your Card to Your Hub: "You may rarely fly Delta or don’t visit an airport with an Amex lounge frequently," Ewen points out. In those cases, a card like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture X could be a better fit than the more famous Amex Platinum.

While The Devil Wears Prada 2 is generating major buzz following its theatrical release, another unexpected detail is quietly stealing the spotlight, sending fashion lovers and moviegoers into a frenzy over one standout accessory.

Following the massive hype, this sparked very high demand, prompting fans to rush online or physically go to theaters to secure the viral bag.

On Reddit, users are sharing tips and tricks to get their hands on the limited-edition collectible.

“My theatre sold out quickly last week and the soft launch they did online at 10am today sold out fast too. Most the time... You should check with your theatre a week before the movie comes out... As Regal has been putting them on sale around then,” one wrote.

“I’ve seen dozens at my theaters here in Orlando lol. Don’t think they are really flying off the shelf,” a fan shared.

“I went to the theater when it opened to get mine, even though I’m seeing the movie later; they were sold out within five minutes,” another added.

On the other hand, fans also took to social media to express their disappointment, particularly over how quickly the item, now fondly dubbed the “Butter Birkin,” was sold out.

Christine Baranski, the Emmy-winning actress who broke out in the 1990ssitcomCybill before going on to scene-stealing roles in The Big Bang Theory, Mamma Mia! and The Good Wife universe, turns 74 on Saturday, marking another milestone for the veteran performer whose career has spanned stage, television and film.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Baranski began her career as a drama student at Juilliard School, then made her off-Broadway debut in Coming Attractions at Playwrights Horizons in 1980, and has appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club throughout the 1980s and 1990s. She has won two Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Charlotte in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing in 1984, and as Chris Gorman in Neil Simon's 1989 production Rumors.

Her breakout role came from the CBS sitcom Cybill, where she played the sarcastic, wealthy and hard-drinking friend Maryann Thorpe for four seasons. Her character gave Baranski an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, along with three other nominations throughout the seasons.

Created by Chuck Lorre, Cybill followed single mother, Cybill Sheridan (Cybill Shepherd), a twice-divorced and struggling actress in her 40s who has never gotten her big break in show business. Also featured are her daughters: Zoey (Alicia Witt) and Rachel (Dedee Pfeiffer), and her two ex-husbands: Ira (Alan Rosenberg) and Jeff (Tom Wopat).

Throughout its run from 1995 to 1998, the comedy was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 1996.

The actress told The Guardian in January 2022 that she was offered the role of Maryanne in the early 1990s. Though moving to Los Angeles was not ideal for her (at the time, she and her husband, fellow actor Matthew Cowles, were living in Connecticut with their two young daughters), the publication wrote that "the money won."

"It was a very anguished decision," Baranski recalled. "My girls were five and eight, I think, and Matthew stayed home with them. But when I read the script by Chuck Lorre, this guy I’d never heard of, and saw how he’d written the character Maryanne, with the dry wit and martinis, I thought: ‘Oh, I know how to play this.’”

Despite the success of the show, there were tensions between Shepherd and Baranski, which came from jealousy due to Baranski winning an Emmy Award for the first season, but Shepherd did not, despite playing the title character. In her memoir, Cybill Disobedience, Shepherd wrote that the two best friends on the show didn't get along in real life because "Baranski was unfriendly."

"I have never publicly gone into that,” the Mamma Mia! actress responded. “Yes, there were issues, but I prefer to take the higher ground and say, look, that show gave me so much. I was fine working with her. Politically, it did get difficult, but I wish her well."

After Cybill ended, Baranski continued to take up many roles across television and film, including Frasier, Welcome to New York and Happy Family. The actress ended up working with Lorre again when she began playing a recurring character, the mother of Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, in The Big Bang Theory for 10 years.

From 2009 to 2016, Baranski played the role of Diane Lockhart, a top litigator and senior partner of a Chicago law firm on the CBS series The Good Wife, where she was also nominated for an Emmy Award. She also reprised the role in the show's spinoff titled The Good Fight, from 2017 to 2022.

In film, the 74-year-old actress has taken on various roles across different genres, but she is most known for her characters in The Birdcage, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Chicago, Mamma Mia! and its sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!, Into the Woods, Addams Family Values, Reversal of Fortune and more.

"[Cybill] really transformed my career, and suddenly I was offered wonderful movie roles," Baranski told BBC News last month. "So to my astonishment, the latter part of my career has been film and mostly television."

Currently, Baranski is playing Agnes van Rhijn in the HBO period drama The Gilded Age alongside Carrie Coon, Louisa Jacobson and Cynthia Nixon. In addition, it was announced last month that the Emmy-winning actress will be making her West End debut this fall in a new production of Noël Coward's comedy Hay Fever, starring as Judith Bliss alongside Richard E. Grant.

Baranski said that her upcoming play was "a dream come true" and that it feels "extraordinary" to be coming to the West End. She has been trying to return to her theater roots for years, but her demanding film schedules have not carved out "enough time to do a play."

Directed by Emily Burns, Hay Fever will have a limited run at London’s Wyndham's Theatre from September 22 to December 12.

"It's been on my bucket list for years," she said. "It's going to be just wonderful, I can't tell you how excited I am. Believe me, I'm already studying the role, learning my lines and working to polish an English accent."

In 1986, a group of heavy metal legends took matters into their own hands with “Stars.” The one-off charity single, by a supergroup of 40 metal musicians dubbed Hear ‘n Aid, was released to raise money for famine relief in Africa on the heels of Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” and USA For Africa’s “We Are The World.”

“Stars” peaked at No. 26 in the UK and hit No. 39 on Billboard’s U.S. Bubbling Under 100 chart, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. It also received heavy airplay on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and on VH1.

The single, which raised more than a million dollars for charity, was ranked the No. 1 most metal moment in the VH1 special The 100 Most Metal Moments. The song beat out Ronnie James Dio’s famous devil horns symbol, Motley Crue’s tell-all bio The Dirt, and the This is Spinal Tap parody film.

The rock website Bravewords noted: “The biggest names in metal, from Judas Priest to Motley Crue, come together in a charity recording and video for starving people in Africa. It’s rumored that pop charity types don’t approve, but the song and video for ‘We’re Stars’ stands as a stirring tribute to all things metal.”

Dozens of hard rockers contributed to the project

“Stars” brought together the top musicians of the 1980s heavy metal scene. It featured epic guitar solos and the biggest voices of the era.

The brainchild of Dio members Ronnie James Dio, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell, the recording also featured band members from Judas Priest, Blue Öyster Cult, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Y&T, Rough Cutt, Queensrÿche, King Kobra, Night Ranger, Giuffria, W.A.S.P., Yngwie Malmsteen, Mötley Crüe, Twisted Sister, Vanilla Fudge, Journey, Iron Maiden, and more.

Lead vocals were performed by Dio, Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche), Kevin DuBrow (Quiet Riot), Don Dokken (Dokken), Eric Bloom (Blue Öyster Cult), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt), and Dave Meniketti (Y&T).

The song was recorded at A&M Studios in Los Angeles on May 20 & 21, 1985, per a message on Dio’s official website.  But according to UCR, legal clearances for the dozens of artists involved in the project resulted in a delay of the record's release. It took until January 1986 for the Hear 'n Aid album to come out once all of the permissions were granted.

According to Classic Rock magazine, Dio once said that while there were “a lot of Fred Bloggses who wanted to get involved…. the project needed heavyweights to sell it.”

Dios’ wife Wendy added, “I think Rob Halford of Judas Priest was the first to say yes… Then Queensrÿche, Twisted Sister… came aboard pretty quick. And they were all on their best behavior – even Ted Nugent. The great, the good, and the rest give it their best shot to fight famine in Africa.”

While egos were checked at the door, Campbell noted there was some competition in a non-musical area. “You put a bunch of eighties guitarists in the same room and, of course, there’s going to be competition for bragging rights. They were even arguing about who had the biggest hair,” the rocker recalled.
