Wynonna Judd Reveals Heartbreaking Discovery About the Father She Never Knew in New Song: ‘I’ll Never Get to Hear His Answer’

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 9:14am

Wynonna Judd is opening up about the father she never knew and a heartbreaking discovery she made only after it was too late to ask him the questions she’d carried for decades.

The country music legend released a deeply personal new song, “Girl Who Could Sing,” on Aug. 25, the latest track from her upcoming solo album The Hard Truth, arriving Oct. 2 via ANTI- Records.

Written by Judd with her husband Cactus Moser, Clara Calaway, Melissa Forrette and Brant Colella, “Girl Who Could Sing” takes the form of a letter to Judd’s late biological father, whom she never had the opportunity to meet.

But it was what his family discovered after his death that helped inspire the song: a drawer filled with newspaper articles and clippings about Judd and her career that he had saved.

“I was 30 years old when I learned the truth, that the man I called ‘Dad’ my entire life, was not my biological father,” Judd said in a statement accompanying the song’s release. “It changed everything I thought I knew about who I was.”

Wynonna Judd Learned the Truth About Her Father at 30

Judd has previously spoken about learning as an adult that Michael Ciminella, whom she grew up believing was her father, was not her biological father.

But “Girl Who Could Sing” explores what happened after that revelation and the relationship Judd never had the chance to pursue.

“By the time I was ready to meet him, he was gone,” she said. “I never got to hear his voice, look him in the eyes, or ask him why. I’ll carry those unanswered questions with me for the rest of my life.”

The discovery that her father had apparently been following her extraordinary career from afar only left Judd with more questions.

In the song, she wonders whether he ever attended one of her concerts and whether some of the qualities that helped make her a star came from him. She also confronts the circumstances that kept them apart.

The accompanying music video makes that history tangible, with Judd holding the actual press clippings her father had saved.

The Heartbreaking Discovery That Inspired ‘Girl Who Could Sing’

For Judd, perhaps the most painful question became the one that ultimately gave the song its title.

“‘Was I ever really your daughter, or just a girl who could sing?’ is the question that hurts the most—because I’ll never get to hear his answer,” she said.

Rather than finding a neat resolution to a relationship that never had the opportunity to begin, Judd said music became her way of living with what she will never know.

“What do you do with the questions you’ll never have answers to?” she continued. “My answer is simple… I sing about it.”

The intensely personal subject matter continues a theme running throughout The Hard Truth, an album Judd has described as containing some of the most honest music she has ever made.

Wynonna Judd’s New Album ‘The Hard Truth’ Arrives in October

The Hard Truth marks a significant first in Judd’s decades-long career: The songs include her first-ever album co-writes.

The record looks backward and forward at the forces that have shaped her life. Its first half explores Judd’s complicated relationship with her late mother and Judds bandmate, Naomi Judd, as well as her struggle to establish an identity of her own. The latter half turns toward the life Judd has built for herself.

Moser produced the album, which also features appearances from Patterson Hood, Iron & Wine and The War and Treaty.

“We started with nothing but a feeling and emotion and ended up with an entire album that captures Wynonna’s story with a level of honesty she’s never experienced in her career,” Moser said of making the record.

“Girl Who Could Sing” follows previously released tracks including “Kentucky Queen” and “Am I Missing Out.”

Judd will take the new music on the road this fall. After appearances at AmericanaFest and a run of Kentucky performances that includes two nights at the Paramount Arts Center in her hometown of Ashland, The Hard Truth Tour begins Oct. 8 in New York City.

More than four decades after she first found fame alongside her mother as one half of The Judds, Judd is using her latest chapter to tell parts of her story she has never put into songs before. With “Girl Who Could Sing,” that means addressing a relationship she never had and questions for which, as she acknowledges, there can no longer be answers.

'SNL' Cast Member Bowen Yang Reveals Famous Host ‘Made Multiple Cast Members Cry' Backstage: 'It Was Terrible'

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 9:11am

Every SNL cast member has their personal favorite hosts, many of whom were an utter pleasure to work alongside when it came time to filming.

Conversely, more than a few cast members from the hit NBC sketch show have shared glimpses into certain less-than-glamorous hosts from the show’s past.

In 2024, Bowen Yang, the breakout SNL sensation who worked on the series from 2018 until 2025, specifically called out an unnamed SNL host who made “multiple cast members cry” on the days leading up to SNL‘s filming.

Appearing on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Yang discussed the “terrible” experience of working with this unnamed host.

“This man who… this person, this host made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday before the table-read, because he hated the ideas,” Yang explained.

While Yang didn’t name any names when it came to the specific host in question, many have speculated that the celebrity was none other than Elon Musk, who appeared in a poorly received episode of Saturday Night Live on May 8, 2021.

Perhaps the biggest piece of evidence pointing to this theory is the fact that Chloe Fineman, another prominent SNL talent in the early 2020s, personally called out Musk for making her cry in the days leading up to the show.

“OK, I just saw some news article about Elon Musk being like butt-hurt about SNL and his impression, but I’m, like, you’re clearly watching the show. Like, what are you talking about?” Fineman said in 2024 (via Variety). “And I’m like, you know what? I’m gonna come out and say at long last that I’m the cast member that he made cry. And he’s the host that made someone cry. Maybe there’s others.”

“I was like, I’m not gonna say anything. But I’m like, no, if you’re gonna go on your platform and be rude, like, guess what?” Fineman continued, apparently referencing Yang’s comments and directly addressing Musk. “You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up all night writing the sketch. I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, ‘It’s not funny.’”

Patrick Renna Says 'Any Remake Is a Mistake' — and Danielle Fishel Agrees (Exclusive)

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 9:11am

For fans of The Sandlot, seeing Patrick Renna back on a baseball field alongside many of his former co-stars might sound like the sequel they’ve been waiting more than 30 years to see. But Renna wants to make one thing very clear: Dugout Dads is not a Sandlot sequel—and he thinks that’s exactly how it should be.

“I think any remake is a mistake, personally,” Renna — who played Hamilton “Ham” Porter in the 1993 classic — tells Parade ahead of the Dugout Dads series premiere. “How do you live up to something that’s meant so much to people?”

Instead, Dugout Dads gives Renna and his former Sandlot co-stars a chance to reunite while telling an entirely new story.

The upcoming comedy follows a group of parents navigating the increasingly intense world of Little League baseball, with Boy Meets World alum Danielle Fishel starring as Renna’s wife.

Fishel — who joked that she’s “collecting nostalgia-based projects like Infinity Stones” – seemingly agreed with Renna’s hot take.

“I feel like one of the mistakes that Girl Meets World made was leaning too far into Boy Meets World‘s history and not leaning into the new characters enough,” she told Parade. “Thankfully, Patrick, right from the beginning, was like, ‘This is a new project with new characters.'”

And while Dugout Dads isn’t part of The Sandlot universe, Renna says that doesn’t mean fans won’t recognize some familiar energy when the cast gets back together.

“There’s no Sandlot [intellectual property] in it. [But] we don’t hide from it,” he said of the upcoming series that reunites the Sandlot’s Chauncey Leopardi (Squints), Tom Guiry (Smalls), Brandon Quintin Adams (Kenny), Marty York (Yeah-Yeah), Grant Gelt (Bertram), Victor DiMattia (Timmy), Shane Obedzinski (Repeat), and Wil Horneff (Phillips).

Renna added, “We make a few little jokes at it, a few little Easter eggs that I think people will enjoy. But I think they’ll just love seeing us on the baseball field. And the final episode has a real cool, nostalgic moment that I think people will love.”

Dugout Dads premieres Wednesday, August 26, on YouTube.

One of America's Most Iconic Roller Coasters Just Hit a Major Milestone—Here's What Made It Legendary

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 9:10am

Before high-tech magnetic launches, inversions, and multi-story steel hypercoasters took over the modern theme park skyline, amusement park thrills were built entirely out of timber, gravity, and pure engineering swagger.

At Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania, one of the country’s most storied wooden thrill rides is officially reaching a rare milestone. Comet, the oldest continuously operating roller coaster at Pennsylvania’s largest theme park, marks its 80th anniversary in 2026, standing as an enduring symbol of golden-age American amusement history.

First opened to the public in late May 1946, Comet holds a unique place in park lore as the very last roller coaster personally commissioned by founder Milton S. Hershey before his passing in 1945.

Built by the legendary Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC) and designed by PTC president Herbert P. Schmeck, the modified double out-and-back coaster utilized a staggering 248,919 feet of lumber. At the time of its debut, Comet was actually the largest roller coaster in the entire United States.

While parkgoers today recognize the ride by its bright white wooden scaffolding, it was originally painted green at Mr. Hershey’s personal request so it would blend seamlessly into the surrounding countryside. Over the decades, it evolved into an official American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) Roller Coaster Landmark, earning national recognition for its historic preservation and architectural significance.

What Has Kept Riders Screaming for Eight Decades

Nestled in The Hollow section of the park right alongside Spring Creek, Comet serves as a quintessential rite of passage for young riders stepping up to their first major coaster.

As theme park enthusiast Michael Burkes shared in the Hersheypark Connoisseurs group: “I want to give a GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT to an attraction that has stood the test of time. It will celebrate its 80th season in 2026. Happy Birthyear to the Comet! The coaster opened in 1946 and for many patrons who visited Hershey, this was their first big rollercoaster ride. Congrats goes to the Comet and here’s hoping you will be around for many years to come!”

The ride kicks off with a 96-foot climb up the classic chain lift hill before plunging riders down a steep 47-degree drop. Reaching top speeds of 50 miles per hour across 3,360 feet of track, the train sweeps through a 180-degree turn with panoramic views of the park before diving into a series of twisting turns and its signature finale: a run of rapid, airtime-packed bunny hills that lift riders right out of their seats.

After dark, the coaster transforms into one of the park’s prettiest sights, outlined by a glittering trail of chaser lights running along the entire length of the wooden frame.

While the layout remains true to its 1946 roots, Hersheypark has kept the classic feeling fresh for new generations. In 2024, the park introduced custom three-tone blue trains with a glittering metal flake finish, along with an updated logo paying homage to the ride’s 1970s aesthetic.

Eight decades later, even as theme parks race toward taller and faster record-breakers, Comet proves that a beautifully designed wooden coaster never goes out of style.

1966 Hit Soft Rock Song, From the Association, Had Producers Lying To Get It Played on the Radio

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:57am

“Cherish” was a soft rock song that was released by The Association in 1966. The song rose all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed in the position for three weeks.

Terry Kirman told HuffPost that the band was forced to shorten the song to get it played on the radio. Kirkman explained, “In the 60s, the general guideline for the maximum playtime of a song to ever get on Top 40 AM radio was around two minutes and 15 seconds. Two snappy verses and a short bridge — maybe a little instrumental riff — then a repeated verse or chorus before wrapping it up. But the way I intended ‘Cherish’ to be sung ran a full minute or longer than that, somewhere around 3:40.”

He continued, “The song was so long that not only did we speed up the tempo — we sped the actual recording up after we recorded it as well. And when that still wasn’t quite fast enough, our producers then lied about the play time on the label by about 20 full seconds. God only knows what must have gone through the minds of all those tightly formatted Top 40 radio programmers trying to figure out where they’d gone wrong.”

Kirkman also spoke about the fact that this has become a popular wedding song. “Another strange aspect of the ‘Cherish’ story—one that has particularly baffled me—was that it became such a huge favorite for weddings,” he said. “Couples by the thousands called it ‘their song,’ in spite of the fact it is so very much about love lost, not victorious love. But who knows? Maybe it was that stirring youth march tempo that did them in.”

The Association had a few more hits over the years, including “Windy” and “Never My Love.” In 2003, the band was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The members of the band also received Rock Justice Awards in 2019.

Kirkman died in 2023 at the age of 83.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Star Reveals Why 1976 Johnny Cash Episode Left Her ‘Truly Jealous’

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:56am

Alison Arngrim had some of the most memorable scenes on Little House on the Prairie, playing bratty Nellie Olsen from 1974 to 1981 on the beloved NBC historical drama. But the young actress was not on set when one of the show’s biggest guest stars of all time set foot in Walnut Grove 50 years ago.

Speaking with People magazine in August 2026, Arngrim, 64, recalled missing the Sept. 27, 1976, Little House episode “The Collection,” which featured country music legends Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash.

The “Ring of Fire” singer played Caleb Hodgekiss in the famous Season 3 premiere, an ex-convict turned preacher who plans to rob the church-going townspeople when he steps in for the ailing Reverend Alden (Dabbs Greer). Carter Cash played his wife, Mattie Hodgekiss, in the classic TV episode.

“He plays a really terrible person who then sees the error of his ways and is totally redeemed, because he hangs out around us for a few days and we sort him out,” Arngrim said of Cash, before noting that she wasn’t actually in the episode.

“I’m rarely jealous, but I’m truly jealous that I am not in that episode, because I wanted to meet Johnny Cash so badly,” Arngrim told the outlet.

Cash and his wife were invited to guest star on Little House on the Prairie by series star and executive producer Michael Landon, according to Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder on the show).

“Michael met Johnny at a party and invited him to come onto the program. The episode was written just for them,” Butler shared of the country music couple.

Other cast members were mesmerized by Cash’s cameo. Speaking with Closer Weekly in 2020, Karen Grassle, who starred as Caroline “Ma” Ingalls on the long-running series, called working with Cash her “top showbiz moment.”

“I had been listening to his music since I was a kid!” she said.

Cash did sing in the Little House episode, performing the folk rock classic “Back Jack David” as his character rides into town.

Cash died in 2003 at age 71, less than four months after the death of his wife at 73.

Fifty years after the legendary couple’s Little House on the Prairie episode, cast members will reunite at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to celebrate the anniversary and meet with fans from September 11 through 13.

Pillsbury Debuts Oven-Ready Butter and Chocolate Croissants

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:28am

For decades, shoppers have routinely gravitated towards the simple flavors and homely texture of a classic Pillsbury baked good.

Whether you’re partial to a limited-edition Halloween-themed cookie or an equally delicious moist cake mix, Pillsbury has managed to give shoppers the ultimate sweet treats time and time again with their expansive lineup of baked goods.

While all of these treats are already terrific in their own right, Pillsbury has just given fans another reason to head to their nearest grocery store aisle with the release of their two new oven-ready pastries.

According to a new press release shared with us over email, Pillsbury has just unveiled their brand-new Butter Grants! Croissant and Chocolate Grands! Croissants to their permanent lineup.

Made with 48 individual layers for the ultimate flaky consistency fans expect from a worthwhile croissant, the Butter Grands! Croissants feature notes of real butter, while the Chocolate Grands! Croissants draw on the sinfully sweet flavor profile of real Belgian cocoa.

As the name suggests, both pastries also help significantly shorten wait times to ensure consumers can bite into their fresh-baked pastries that much sooner, rather than having too spend too much time cobbling the croissants together from scratch.

“Making croissants from scratch sounds amazing in theory…but as you know, there’s also a lot of rolling, shaping, time and patience involved,” the company’s press release read.

“That’s why Pillsbury is taking care of the prep with the debut of NEW Butter Grands! Croissants and Chocolate Grands! Croissants, two freezer-to-oven options joining the brand’s permanent lineup,” Pillsbury continued. “Perfectly pre-shaped and ready to bake with no thawing required, they give croissant lovers an easy way to enjoy a bakery-inspired treat and create a little more joy around the table.”

Arriving to nationwide stores on August 23, the two new croissants have already found a welcome place in Pillsbury’s lineup, providing shoppers with yet another unforgettable pastry that’s both delicious and easily baked in ovens.

’70s Rock Band, Known for Its Iconic Makeup, Needs Permission to Take the Stage

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:24am

For decades, KISS built its reputation on spectacle, from elaborate costumes and iconic makeup to pyrotechnics and larger-than-life concerts.

But if the legendary rock band ever wants to return to the stage in its traditional form, there’s now someone outside the group who gets a say.

Gene Simmons revealed in a new interview that KISS cannot simply decide to perform live again without permission from Pophouse, the entertainment company that acquired the rights to the band’s name, music, publishing and iconic makeup.

The revelation comes as Simmons celebrates his 77th birthday on Aug. 25, and nearly three years after KISS played what was billed as its final concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Dec. 2, 2023.

For fans who have learned never to say never when it comes to KISS, Simmons’ explanation offers a surprising look at what happens when a legendary band’s most recognizable assets become part of a larger entertainment empire.

Why KISS Needs Permission to Perform

Simmons discussed KISS’ future during a recent interview with Detroit classic rock station WCSX while explaining why he has continued performing with his own band.

“KISS was actually sold; the makeup and the tunes and the publishing and all that,” Simmons said, according to a transcript published by BlabberMouth. He described Pophouse as the band’s partner in its future, with plans for a movie, animated projects, a theme park and an avatar show.

Then came the part that may surprise KISS fans.

“But that also means that KISS can’t play live without Pophouse’s permission,” Simmons said, explaining that the company owns the makeup and other elements associated with the band.

The distinction is important. It doesn’t mean KISS is legally forbidden from ever appearing onstage again. Rather, Simmons says a traditional KISS performance involving the band’s trademark identity and assets would require approval from Pophouse.

And KISS isn’t exactly disappearing.

The band has announced a 2026 KISS Kruise event in Las Vegas featuring Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. The event is being presented as the only place fans can see KISS live in 2026, making it a particularly unusual chapter in the band’s post-End of the Road era.

KISS Has a Very Different Future Ahead

The arrangement with Pophouse means KISS’ future may look considerably different from the decades of arena tours that made the band famous.

Pophouse, which is also behind ABBA’s successful avatar production, has been working with KISS on a broader entertainment strategy. One of the biggest pieces is KISS Forever, an avatar show planned for Las Vegas in 2028. The project was discussed by Simmons, Stanley, longtime manager Doc McGhee and Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos at Pollstar Live! earlier this year.

Simmons also pointed to a movie currently being cast, along with animated projects and a potential theme park.

The approach makes sense for a group whose image has always been almost as valuable as its music. The KISS logo, face paint, costumes and characters have become instantly recognizable pieces of pop culture, and Pophouse’s plans aim to keep those elements alive for future generations.

Gene Simmons Still Isn’t Ready to Stop Performing

There is, however, one thing Simmons has no intention of giving up: the stage.

After KISS’ farewell tour, Simmons launched the Gene Simmons Band, allowing him to continue performing without relying on the KISS brand.

“I can’t stay off the stage,” Simmons said in the aforementioned interview. “I love it too much.”

For Simmons, performing isn’t simply a job. He compared the experience to creating something you’re proud of and then wanting other people to experience it, too.

His solo band is scheduled to continue touring throughout 2026, with dates extending into December.

That gives Simmons a way to keep doing what he loves while KISS enters an entirely different phase of its existence.

The band may no longer have complete control over whether it can simply put on the makeup, step onto a stage and play a traditional KISS concert. But if Simmons is right, the end of the road may not mean the end of KISS at all.

It could just mean the beginning of a very different kind of KISS.

1972 Song, Written in the Car by Harry Nilsson After a Hawaiian Vacation, Charted for Months

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:23am

Harry Nilsson released the novelty song “Coconut” in 1972. It remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, peaking at No. 8.

According to SongFacts, Nilsson wrote the word “coconut” on a matchbook when he was on vacation in Hawaii, thinking it would work well in a song. When he returned home, he found the matchbook while he was driving and wrote the song in his car.

Originally, Nilsson was going to sing the entire song in his regular voice. However, producer Richard Perry changed his mind. “He played it for the first time on guitar, and he sang it straight through with no changes at all,” he said in the documentary Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin’ About Him). “I thought to myself, ‘This song has the potential to be like a little animated cartoon.’ There are at least three different characters. So I said, ‘Why don’t you try using different voices?’ He responded to that immediately and gave this marvelous theatrical performance that has made the song a classic.”

The song was included in a number of movies and shows over the years, including The Muppet Show, Reservoir Dogs, Practical Magic, and House. It also appeared in the popular video game, Alan Wake.

Nilsson had several more hits throughout his career, including “Without You,” “Everybody’s Talkin’” and “Jump Into the Fire.” Rolling Stone ranked him as one of “The 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time” in 2012.

Nilsson died in 1994 at the age of 52. To this day, he is remembered as an excellent singer and songwriter. Peter Frampton told Uncut, “We forget that he influenced The Beatles, for Christ’s sake, with him stacking his vocals and writing these unbelievably great songs. We knew how talented he was. All the musicians had his records.”

Van Dyke Parks added, “He was the smartest person I ever met in the music business. He was operating at the highest creative level imaginable. I wouldn’t call him a musical genius – I’d just call him a genius. And by the way, I haven’t met any others. He redefined what a song could do, with incredible intimacy: beautiful and consoling and illuminating and clear.”

Jenna Johnson Reveals Her Dream ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Partner — And He's a Super Bowl Champ (Exclusive)

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:02am

Dancing with the Stars pro Jenna Johnson has revealed her dream celebrity partner.

Although the full cast of the upcoming season 35 won’t be officially announced until Wednesday, Sept. 2 on Good Morning America, fans hope the two-time mirror ball trophy winner will be putting on her dance shoes again. Also, it’s expected Jenna will be co-starring once again with her longtime DWTS pro husband, Val Chmerkovskiy.

Just days before the big ABC cast reveal, Jenna told Parade in an exclusive interview who she would love to be her partner one day. If the show doesn’t land him for the upcoming season, would he hit the DWTS ballroom in the future? Read on to find out more!

Jenna told Parade she’d love to guide former Philadelphia Eagles football player Jason Kelce, the brother of Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and husband of superstar singer Taylor Swift. There’s no indication that ex-Philadelphia Eagles star Jason, 38, who retired in 2024 and is now an ESPN analyst, will compete on season 35, but Jenna is pining to get him sometime!

“Jason Kelce would be perfect. I have yet to have an NFL player,” Jenna explained. “I haven’t had a football player and they’re always some of my favorite contestants on the show, just because they understand hard work and they are so motivated and they know, like, game day vibes and so I just feel like they always produce great performances. We’ll see. An NFL-er or an athlete, always super fun.”

DWTS has featured four football player winners through the years—Emmitt Smith in 2006’s season 3, Hines Ward in 2011’s season 12, Donald Driver in season 14 in 2012, and Rashad Jennings in 2017’s season 24.

Jenna, 32, talked about her dream partner during a recent Zoom chat with Parade while promoting Orgain Kids Protein Smoothie. She confided that her son Rome, 3, with husband Val, 40, is drinking the healthy organic smoothies and dancing just like his famous parents. “It’s in his blood,” she smiled.

As for the dancing queen herself, she won DWTS two years ago with The Bachelor hunk Joey Graziadei. And Jenna previously triumphed in 2018’s all-athletes’ season 26 with Winter Olympics figure skater Adam Rippon.

Jenna said in addition to an NFL star, she’d also love to be paired with another Olympian at some point: “Yes! Especially with the past Olympics [in Milan and Cortina 2026], I think it would be so fun to see some of those current Olympians join Season 35. There again, they are so focused and they do an incredible job on our show as well.”

The pro dancer is a big fan of country singer Luke Bryan, who also works for ABC as an American Idol judge. When asked if Luke would ever do DWTS with her, Jenna laughed, “Good question! That would be epic!”

The only Season 35 celebrity-pro pairing revealed so far is Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez and reigning DWTS pro champion Witney Carson.

Witney stunned fans by announcing that she will be competing while pregnant with her third child by husband Carson McAllister. The blonde star, who won last season’s DWTS with Robert Irwin, will be the first pro dancer on the series to enter an installment while already pregnant. Jenna told Parade that her close friend Witney told her the baby news before she revealed it publicly. She noted, “She did tell me. I’m really grateful she did.”

Jenna said of Witney dancing with a baby on board, “I love it…As women, we can do this, and I think this is going to be a beautiful memory for her when she’s looking back with her beautiful baby in her arms like, ‘You did that with me! You did your first cha cha onstage.’ So I think it’s really empowering and shows to women that are pregnant that we can do everything. We’re so capable while growing a child, so props to her.”

According to Jenna, Witney will have no problems with the situation. “I think she knows what she’s doing, and it’s not the first time that someone’s been pregnant while dancing on the show. She was actually pregnant while doing the show her last pregnancy as well as well as [pro dancer] Daniella [Karagauch] was, my sister-in-law Peta [Murgatroyd]’s been pregnant during the season, so I think this is the furthest along anyone’s ever been but I think at that point, once you’re past the first trimester, that’s even better.”

In addition to Guillermo and Witney, ABC has only officially confirmed three other season 35 cast members–Summer House star Ciara Miller, The Traitors contestant Maura Higgins and Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olsen.

Us Weekly has reported that actress Jenna Dewan, The Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Conner Leavitt (who is the husband of Season 34 contestant Whitney Leavitt), and Love Thy Nader star Sarah Jane Nader (who is the sister of Season 33 contestant Brooks Nader) will hit the ballroom. TMZ has cited sources saying that actresses Julia Stiles and Tatyana Ali are also participating.

Jenna’s lips are sealed on whether she and Val will be in the mix. Fans must tune in to GMA next week for the official full cast announcement.

The dance series is more popular than ever, and teasing Season 35 in general, Jenna told Parade, “From the trajectory the show’s been on for the past two years, I can just imagine [it will be] bigger and better than ever. I can’t wait to see what the season brings. [Producers] keep outdoing themselves.”

Jenna thrilled viewers by winning the mirror ball trophy with The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei (Disney/Eric McCandless)

DWTS returns on Tuesday, Sept. 15 on ABC and Disney+ and streams next day on Hulu.

Burger King Listens to Fans, Updates Recipe for Iconic Menu Item

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 8:00am

Burger King has been on a roll recently, taking customer feedback seriously and making menu changes to better reflect what fans want from the fast food giant. But now, it’s making one of the biggest changes yet with the revamp of its chicken nuggets.

Related: KFC Answers Fans’ Prayers, Brings Back Beloved Menu Item After Three Years: ‘Crying Real Tears’

After receiving feedback from customers that its chicken nuggets were “rubbery,” “dry,” and “disappointing,” Burger King went back to the kitchen and came up with a new recipe that addresses all of those issues head-on. The new nuggets are made with 100% white meat chicken that’s succulent and juicy thanks to an enhanced marinade. The golden new breading is crispier than its predecessor, and even the packaging got an upgrade from a bag to a box.

In addition to the craveable new nuggets, Burger King also revamped its dipping sauces, elevating its existing flavors and launching a new limited-time one for fans to dip into:

  • New Special Savory Sauce: A brand-new, limited-time dipping sauce combining creamy, tangy, and lightly spicy flavors with hints of BBQ seasoning, ketchup, garlic, onion, and black pepper.
  • Honey Mustard: A richer, creamier take on the classic, made with premium mustard and wildflower honey for the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavor.
  • Buffalo: A classic cayenne pepper sauce with buttery richness, savory garlic notes, and just the right amount of heat.
  • Sweet & Sour: A brighter, more balanced take on the classic, blending sweet pineapple flavor with tangy notes and a savory finish.

The new nuggets and sauces will be available at Burger King locations nationwide starting September 1.

Burger King has been steadily upgrading its customer experience as part of its Reclaim the Flame framework, a four-year foundational reworking of its business focused on the basics, from restoring consistency to menu updates. It’s paying off to reposition BK in the fast food landscape, reports QSR, with Burger King “outperforming the burger [Quick-Service Restaurant] segment by more than five percentage points” in Q1.

‘Below Deck Med’ Fans Stunned as Max Takes Show From Yacht Drama to Crime Thriller: ‘What Is Happening?!’

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 7:45am

Toward the end of last night’s Below Deck Mediterranean, deckhand Max Salvador revealed that his father was in trouble, mixed up in some nefarious activity, and needed Max’s help.

Max tells Captain Sandy Yawn that he needs to leave the boat and travel to Tunisia to connect with his dad. Sandy warns him that Tunisia isn’t safe, sharing a government travel warning and urging him to call the French Embassy instead. Despite Max revealing earlier in the episode that his parents essentially abandoned him when he was 17, he remains insistent that he needs to help his father.

While Captain Sandy tells Max that going to Tunisia would be the wrong decision, she realizes that ultimately, he has to decide what to do on his own. The episode ends on that cliffhanger, leaving fans stunned.

“The last thing I expected on Below Deck Med was for MONEY LAUNDERING to be a storyline. Max’s father was working with a criminal organization in Tunisia and now his father is being hunted by this organization, so now Max wants to go rescue him. What is happening??” one person wrote on X.

Several fans expressed heartbreak for Max, who now has to make an impossible decision while dealing with the mess his father has dragged him into.

A slew of fans said the storyline was incredibly shocking. “i watched this scene again this morning and said to myself below deck producers gotta be making up storylines because this is f—ing crazy. if they wanted to shock us. mission f—ing accomplished because WHAT THE F—,” a fan wrote on X, with several people wondering, “The whole time I’m thinking ‘are we allowed to know all this?!'”

Max has yet to comment further on what ultimately happened, and fans will hopefully find out on next week’s Below Deck Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, last week’s drama, in which bosun Nathan Gallagher sent Max a text trying to get him to pledge loyalty to him rather than lead deckhand Joe Bradley, has seemingly — and obviously — fallen by the wayside.

Below Deck Mediterranean is on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.

1974 Carole King Hit, Co-Written by a Steely Dan Singer, Was Blocked From No. 1 by a Rock Anthem

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 7:27am

Nobody expected Carole King and a former Steely Dan singer to create one of the biggest radio hits of 1974. However, the unlikely pairing resulted in a No. 2 smash that was blocked from the top spot by one of the decade’s biggest rock anthems.

King teamed up with lyricist David Palmer (“Dirty Work”) to write a soaring track called “Jazzman.” The single took over radio airwaves in the fall of 1974, putting King right on the doorstep of another historic chart-topper by November, but she never ranked higher than No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Jazzman” ran straight into Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s hard-rocking powerhouse “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.” The Canadian rockers held tight to the top spot, denying King what would have been her second solo No. 1 hit.

Tom Scott’s blazing saxophone solos, paired with Palmer’s vivid lyrics and King’s melodies, gave the track its unmistakable spark. It helped King step outside her signature piano ballad style and move into a whole new corner of 1970s pop radio.

In an Instagram post dated December 2024, Scott performed the song’s iconic sax solo in a reel. He said of his participation in the song, “Talk about a career highlight. Thank you, Carole!”

The post continued, “Carole King’s ‘Jazzman.’ The song is best known for its lengthy saxophone solos, performed by Tom Scott, while King sings an ode to ‘the Jazzman’ and the effect he has on her.”

In a 2015 interview with Performing Songwriter, King shared how collaborating with other songwriters keeps her creative juices flowing. Although she has written many of her hits alone and penned other huge hits with her ex-husband Gerry Goffin, she revealed that there is a spark that comes from working with another person to create music.

King said, “I’ve written a lot of my songs alone. I’ve never weighed or measured which is more or less, but I think they’re an equal measure of collaboration and solo writing, and I love both.”

She continued, “What joy there is to be in a room with somebody and say, “What if we did this? What if we did that?” There’s a sense of creating something and rolling toward an inevitable destination that you both know what it is, but you don’t know it until you get to it. To create something where nothing existed before. No song existed before. Suddenly it exists. It’s an amazing process.”

“Jazzman” was nominated for a 1975 Grammy Award in the category Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. King lost to Olivia Newton-John‘s “I Honestly Love You.”

Carole King was first inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as a songwriter with Gerry Goffin. She was later nominated and inducted as a solo performer in 2021.

Win Pizza for Life With Pizza Hut's New Star-Studded Campaign

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 7:15am

The NFL preseason is well underway, and Pizza Hut has teamed up with Pepsi and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on a new campaign that offers fans a host of deals as well as the chance to win the ultimate prize: Pizza Hut pizza for life.

Uniting because football plays start with a “hut,” this new Pizza Hut contest invites fans of the brand to submit a video of themselves saying hut in action, whether that’s literally playing football as the QB or acting as QB in a different area of life, and explaining in a few words why game day starts with “hut” for them. The video must also be ten seconds long at minimum.

Pizza Hut has also provided the following optional prompts to get fans started with their videos:

  • The Literal QB: “Show us your snap count! Whether it’s a backyard game, a rec league play or a full-blown tailgate lot scrimmage, hike the ball, yell ‘hut’ and tell us why game day doesn’t start without you center stage.”
  • The Tailgate QB: “Calling the plays on folding tables and canopy tents? Yell ‘hut’ while you’re setting up the tailgate spread, and tell us what makes your tailgate the one everyone shows up early for.”
  • The Watch Party QB: “Snacks, seating and the remote, you run point on all of it. Shout ‘hut’ as you kick off your watch party (bonus points if it’s putting out the pizza), and tell us what makes you the QB of game day at home.”
  • The Group Chat QB: “You’re the one hyping everyone up before kickoff even starts. Yell ‘hut’ into the camera with text thread pulled up, jersey on, hype fully activated, and tell us why you’re the real QB behind every game day plan.”

This new campaign also features ad spots starring Allen and the brand mascot, Hutty, as well as multiple other deals nationwide. Those deals include:

  • The Big Hut Deal: A large three-topping pizza with your choice of crust for just $10.
  • The New Triple Treat Box Game Day Edition: Two pizzas, breadsticks and cinnamon sticks staring at $21.99. Fans can upgrade the deal with a 2-liter bottle of Pepsi for $2.
  • Limited-Edition Flick Football Pizza Boxes: All medium and large pizzas will come in a box with an addition that can be cut out and turned into field goal posts. When two boxes are placed back-to-back, it becomes a football field.

A Massive $7 Billion ‘Dragon Ball Z’ Theme Park Is Coming to France

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 7:10am

If you had world leaders bonding over Japanese anime and greenlighting a multibillion-dollar amusement resort on your travel bingo card, you can officially check that box.

In one of the most unexpected entertainment announcements of the year, France and Saudi Arabia have officially agreed to build a massive $7 billion manga-themed amusement park near Paris, according to a report from Reuters.

Inspired by the beloved world of Akira Toriyama’s hit Japanese manga and anime powerhouse Dragon Ball Z, the colossal project will be located near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris, and is expected to create around 22,000 jobs.

The origin story behind the project is just as surprising as its price tag. According to presidential advisers speaking to Reuters, the entire idea was born after French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discovered their shared enthusiasm for Dragon Ball Z during Macron’s visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025.

Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya will finance the ambitious development, which fits into the kingdom’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and expand its global presence in the leisure industry. While an official opening date has not yet been set and construction is slated to take several years, the development is designed to become one of the largest entertainment projects in all of Europe.

Early plans indicate that the destination will encompass a sprawling footprint featuring three distinct theme parks, providing travelers with an easy day-trip excursion just outside the French capital. For pop-culture fans and theme park enthusiasts who have spent decades following Goku’s adventures, Paris is officially getting ready to level up its vacation lineup in a major way.

Your Higher Self, Based on Your Birth Date

Tue, 08/25/2026 - 7:06am

The concept of the “higher self” has been gaining popularity recently, but what does it mean? And how does it relate to your spiritual personality, per birth date numerology and astrology?

You can think of your higher self as your most “spiritual” version—the part of you that knows exactly who you’re meant to become. Some esoteric teachings affirm that your higher self is the part of you that chose your birth chart, along with its set of characteristics, learnings, and unique gifts and talents.

This is the part of you that’s playing the long game. It’s unconcerned with the surface noise of money and fame, and it’s behind every meaningful choice you’ve ever made, the kind that actually moves your soul forward.

Read on to discover more about your higher self, based on your birth date. Numerological and astrological insights are below.

Your Higher Self, According To The Day You Were Born

Check your birth date. Disregard birth months.

Born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th — The Sovereign Pioneer

Your higher self is the part of you that has to create. Ruled by the Sun, this version of you is wired to break new ground. You’re fated to be the first to say it, do it, or build it. You feel this part of yourself most when you’re making something from nothing, and the only reward is the joy of bringing it to life. Your higher self doesn’t ask for permission. It asks: “What haven’t I tried yet?”

Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th — The Ancestral Guardian

Governed by the Moon, your higher self is a time traveler of sorts. It pulls you back into your family story, your past lives, the wounds and wisdom your ancestors carried. This part of you doesn’t just heal the past. It transforms it into something your soul can actually use. Listen closely. Your higher self whispers.

Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th — The Expansive Visionary

Being born on a day ruled by Jupiter means your higher self is connected to your sense of optimism, expansion, and thirst for knowledge. You attune to it most deeply when allowing yourself to grow in the direction of your wildest dreams. You may also notice your higher self being more active when needing to protect yourself—Jupiter, after all, is the planet of protection.

Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st — The Free Spirit

Being born on a day ruled by Uranus means your higher self makes itself most noticeable when it’s time to play! Your higher self is connected to the side of you that is rebellious, avant-garde, and dares to color outside the lines. You may also feel connected to this highest part of you in moments when groundbreaking or out-of-the-ordinary ideas suddenly inundate your mind.

NEXT: The Fated Person Who Changes Your Life, Based on Birth Date

Born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd — The Messenger Between Worlds

When you’re born on a day governed by Mercury, your connection with your higher self may be more intellectual. At times, it may feel like you’re talking to someone else, as this part of you helps you connect the dots. When you’re in tune with your higher self, it’s almost as if you can travel between worlds, accessing information others don’t have access to.

Born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th — The Beauty Whisperer

If you were born on a Venus-ruled day, your higher self is always inspiring you to surround yourself with beauty—whether it’s art, energetic harmony, or the gifts from nature. You may find that, when listening to this call, you invite even more positive things into your life. You may meet wonderful people or receive inspiration that is later on channeled into something positive for your life and the lives of others.

Born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th — The Mystic Sage

With Neptune—the planet of dissolution and transcending imagination—ruling over your day of birth, you may have a closer connection to your higher self than most people. You may receive messages in your dreams, during meditation, or when experiencing altered states of consciousness. These deliveries may vary in nature, but their essence is to bring magic from beyond the veil into the material world.

Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th — The Keeper of Ancient Wisdom

Being born on a day ruled by Saturn means your connection to your higher self is about remembering the ancient, sacred parts of your soul. You may access these parts during serious moments in life when you need an energy boost. Being the keeper of ancient wisdom means that what you’re looking for is already yours—all you have to do is look within.

RELATE?: The 4 Birth Months That Secretly Love Being Hermits

Born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th — The Spiritual Warrior

When Mars governs your birthday, your connection to your higher self is quite dynamic. It may come out when you’re not feeling at your most mellow. It awakens when the situation calls for you to stand up for yourself, those you love, or the values that are most important to you. You may also feel attuned to this courageous part of you as you near the end of an important chapter of your life.
