This durable stoneware cake stand is adorned with dazzling hand-applied tiles and delicate jeweled detailing. The blue and cream color scheme offers a balance of soft and vibrant hues throughout the mosaic design.

This stand's 5-inch-high tapered base creates a sturdy foundation for the 10.5-inch-diameter platter that sits upon it. While it's ideal for serving a round cake, a pile of bite-sized desserts, or appetizers, this piece is versatile enough to be used in other ways around your home. It could hold small decor items, become a stylish drop zone for your jewelry, or even display perfume bottles.

"Dreams are of no value if they're not equipped with wings" is embossed twice on opposite sides of the circular surface, allowing it to be read from multiple directions. This inspirational line from Dolly's song "Try" off her 2014 Blue Smoke album fits perfectly with the butterfly decoration in the center of the stand, a nod to the country icon's "Iron Butterfly" nickname.

While this cake stand is definitely worth adding to your own collection, it would also make it a thoughtful gift for any Dolly fan. Although this is a new release with limited reviews so far, it's already earned a perfect five-star rating from early shoppers. One reviewer called this piece a "beautiful cake stand," noting that it is of "great quality for the price."

One of Rock's Most Famous Muses Turns 70 Today

Thu, 07/02/2026 - 3:22am

Long before she became one half of one of rock's most famous couples, Jerry Hallwas already a fashion superstar.

The Texas-born model, actress and style icon turns 70 on July 2 after a career that has taken her from the beaches of Saint-Tropez to the runways of Paris, the legendary dance floor at Studio 54 and the front pages of newspapers around the world. Along the way, she became a muse to artists, photographers and musicians while building a career that extended far beyond the headlines surrounding her personal life.

Hall's glamorous career was a world away from her upbringing in Mesquite, Texas, where she later told Texas Monthly she spent summers on her grandmother's farm near Gonzales "swimming in the trough and playing in the chicken feed." Even after finding international fame, she never completely lost sight of those roots.

Hall also said that she dreamed of becoming a model from an early age. She recalled standing in front of a mirror every night practicing dozens of poses while studying photos of Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich, determined to make it out of Texas and into the fashion world.

Hall's life changed almost overnight when she was discovered by fashion agent Claude Haddad while sunbathing on a beach in Saint-Tropez shortly before her 17th birthday. She moved to Paris, where she shared a tiny hotel room with another aspiring model who would soon become a superstar in her own right: Grace Jones.

Recalling those early days in a 2010 interview with Harper's BAZAAR, Hall said, "Grace was trying to be a model. She and I put on cabaret shows for our friends. We told her she had to be a singer."

Those years introduced Hall to some of the biggest names in art and fashion. She met fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, photographer Helmut Newton, artist Salvador Dalí and later became a frequent subject for Andy Warhol. Looking back, Hall said she gravitated toward "artistic and creative types."

Her breakthrough came in 1975 when she appeared as the unforgettable mermaid on the cover of Roxy Music's album Siren. The striking image became one of rock's most iconic album covers and helped transform Hall into an international celebrity. By 1977, she had appeared on dozens of magazine covers, including Vogue and Cosmopolitan, and had become one of the world's highest-paid models.

View this post on Instagram

Reflecting on those early opportunities, Hall told Harper's BAZAAR, "Yves Saint Laurent was my first fashion show. I wore his tuxedo. And Helmut Newton was my first photographer, in 1973. I was really very lucky. I had an amazing career."

The Siren cover also changed Hall's personal life. She began dating Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry after the album shoot, but another rock legend soon entered the picture.

Hall first met Mick Jagger while having dinner with Ferry. In her autobiography, she recalled that Jagger brushed his leg against hers beneath the table, writing that she "felt an electric jolt."

The pair began a relationship in 1977 that would last more than two decades and produce four children: Elizabeth, James, Georgia May and Gabriel. Together, Hall and Jagger became one of the defining celebrity couples of the rock era, regularly photographed everywhere from Studio 54 to red carpet events around the world.

Asked years later whether she remembered what she wore the night they met, Hall didn't hesitate.

"Yeah, I can," she told Harper's BAZAAR. "I was wearing linen trousers, kind of full, '30s, and they buttoned at the side. I had this crocheted sweater; it was '30s too, with short sleeves and a knitted collar. And a matching straw beret. All '30s. I always liked to do a look from a period, you know. Ha, ha! And I loved the '50s. The Hollywood sort of slightly slutty glamour. I still love that."

Although Hall became synonymous with supermodel glamour, she also built a successful acting career, appearing in films including Batman and Urban Cowboy while earning acclaim on stage in London's West End and on Broadway.

One of her most unusual achievements came in 2004, when she earned a Guinness World Record after making appearances in six different London musicals in a single evening, entertaining more than 9,000 theatergoers in the process.

Hall continues to stay active in entertainment and is set to appear in the second season of The Celebrity Traitors in the UK later this year.

Looking back on a remarkable life that has spanned fashion, film, theater and rock history, Hall expressed few regrets.

"I don't have any regrets," she told Harper's BAZAAR. "I'm very happy."

Quote of the Day: Thurgood Marshall on His Enduring Vision for Justice, Equality, and Democracy

Thu, 07/02/2026 - 2:44am

Thurgood Marshall was the first Black justice to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. He was instrumental in shaping American civil rights, arguing and winning the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case in 1954, which ended legal segregation in public schools. As one of the country's greatest civil rights attorneys, he spent decades using the Constitution and the courts to challenge segregation and advance equal rights for all Americans.

Our Quote of the Day comes from Marshall, whose lifelong belief was that justice and equality belong to everyone. As his former law clerk and legal scholar Paul Gewirtz wrote, "To do what he did required a heroic imagination… [he had] the courage and ability to make that imagined world real."

Related: Quote of the Day: Poet Edgar Allan Poe on the Power of Creativity, Imagination and Daydreaming

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 2, 1908, Marshall entered the world on the very same calendar date that, 56 years later, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would be signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. The landmark legislation outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, making July 2 a date forever tied to both one of America's most important civil rights laws and one of the movement's most influential leaders.

In 1930, because of segregation, the Lincoln University graduate was denied admission to the University of Maryland Law School. Undeterred, he attended Howard University School of Law and graduated at the top of his class. While Marshall did not write or sign the Civil Rights Act, his legal victories helped make it possible.

As chief counsel for the NAACP, Marshall spent more than two decades challenging segregation and racial discrimination in courts across the country. His greatest triumph came in Brown v. Board of Education, when he successfully argued before the Supreme Court that "separate but equal" public schools were inherently unequal and unconstitutional. That decision dismantled the legal foundation of Jim Crow laws and established constitutional principles that paved the way for Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act a decade later. By the time the law was signed, Marshall had become the U.S. Solicitor General, where he defended the federal government's civil rights policies before the Supreme Court.

Marshall's influence extended far beyond a single courtroom victory. In 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed him as the first Black justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, where he served for nearly a quarter century. Throughout his career, he remained a passionate advocate for equal protection under the law and for the belief that the Constitution should protect the rights of every American. Whether remembered for his historic courtroom victories, his groundbreaking service on the nation's highest court, or the legal foundation he helped build for the Civil Rights Act, Thurgood Marshall's legacy continues to shape the pursuit of justice in the United States.

After Marshall passed away in 1993, the Supreme Court enacted a special resolution honoring the late justice. "The great majority of Supreme Court Justices are almost always remembered for their contributions to constitutional law as members of this Court. Justice Marshall, however, is unique because his contributions to constitutional law before becoming a member of the Court were so significant," wrote Chief Justice William Rehnquist. "Inscribed above the front entrance to this Court building are the words, 'Equal Justice Under Law.' Surely no individual did more to make these words a reality than Thurgood Marshall."

Quote of the Day by Thurgood Marshall

"Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on."

The quote comes from Thurgood Marshall's commencement address at the University of Virginia on May 21, 1978. He was speaking to graduating students, encouraging them to take an active role in protecting democracy and pursuing justice throughout their lives.

Here is more from his speech that day, which is equally impactful:

"Each of you as an individual must pick your own goals. Listen to others but do not become a blind follower. Do not wait for others to move out—move out yourself—where you see wrong or inequality or injustice speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy—make it—protect it—pass it on. You are ready. Go to it."

Earlier in the speech, Marshall emphasized that democracy survives only when citizens are informed and engaged, saying that being knowledgeable "is essential work for the citizens of a democracy." He concluded with this call to action to speak out.

The quote reflects Marshall's enduring belief that democracy is something citizens must actively build, protect, and improve. After spending his career challenging injustice and expanding civil rights, he understood that lasting progress depends on individuals who are willing to recognize inequality, speak against it, and leave a stronger democracy for those who follow. As Congressman John Lewis said, "Thurgood Marshall stood up, spoke up, and fought back so that America could become a better America."

More Quotes from Thurgood Marshall

"In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute."

"The legal system can force open doors, and sometimes even knock down walls, but it cannot build bridges. That job belongs to you and me."

"None of us got where we are solely by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. We got here because somebody—a parent, a teacher, an Ivy League crony, or a few nuns—bent down and helped us pick up our boots."

"The measure of a country's greatness is its ability to retain compassion in times of crisis."

1984 Timeless Country Ballad, One of the Most Famous Songs About America, Became a No. 1 Hit 36 Years Later

Thu, 07/02/2026 - 1:48am

Over four decades ago, country artist Lee Greenwood released what would turn out to be one of the biggest patriotic anthems of all time.

Greenwood's signature song "God Bless the U.S.A," came out in May 1984 as the lead single from his third studio album, You've Got a Good Love Comin'. It rose to No. 7 on the Hot Country Songs chart before going on to become a timeless country ballad about American pride — but it would take more than 35 years for the song to officially earn a No. 1 spot on any Billboard charts.

36 years after its initial release, "God Bless the U.S.A." became a No. 1 hit in July 2020, when it reached the summit of Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart. It had reached its peak position on the Hot 100 chart nearly 20 years earlier in September 2001, when it rose to No. 16 following the September 11 terrorist attacks against the U.S.

While reflecting on what inspired him to write "God Bless the U.S.A.," Greenwood told The Boot in 2016, "I wanted to write it my whole life. When I got to that point, we were doing 300 days a year on the road, and we were on our fourth or fifth album on MCA [Records]. I called my producer, and I said, 'I have a need to do this,'" he recalled. "I've always wanted to write a song about America, and I said, 'We just need to be more united.'"

Despite being one of Greenwood's most famous songs, "God Bless the U.S.A." never topped Billboard's biggest country chart, while several of his other songs did.

He had a total of seven songs reach No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart throughout the '80s, including: "Mornin' Ride," "I Don't Mind the Thorns (If You're the Rose)," "Hearts Aren't Meant to Break (They're Made To Love)," "Somebody's Gonna Love You," "Dixie Road," "Don't Underestimate My Love For You" and "Going, Going, Gone."

2004 Debut Hit Single Became a Massive Pop Culture Staple

Thu, 07/02/2026 - 1:00am

Some songs absolutely define a generation, and for millennials who grew up with the beginnings of Grey's Anatomy and the power of the soft-rock anthem, few songs resonate quite as hard as the Anna Nalickdebut single"Breathe (2 AM)."

Written for her debut album, Wreck of the Day, "Breathe (2 AM)" is a moody, reflective track that tells the story of three different characters. The first is a friend of the narrator who has found herself in an unsatisfying relationship, the second is an alcoholic soldier stationed at Fort Bliss, and finally there's the narrator herself, reflecting on all of the experiences and putting them down into song form.

"Breathe (2 AM)" did not hit the Billboard Hot 100 upon initial release, but upon its re-release in 2025, it charted at No. 45 on the Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Thanks to other mediums of media, "Breathe (2 AM)" has become mega-famous and somewhat of a pop culture staple for moody, introspective moments on screen.

"Breathe (2 AM) has been featured in the following TV and movies since its release in 2004:

  • Joan of Arcadia
  • Smallville
  • Charmed
  • A Lot Like Love
  • Something Borrowed
  • And most famously, Grey's Anatomy

The long-running, Shonda Rhimes medical drama has featured the track multiple times. But the most iconic and memorable came in Season 2, Episode 17, which was titled "As We Know It." In the episode, Meredith Grey has stuck her hand inside of a patient who has a live piece of unexploded ammunition from a bazooka inside of his chest cavity. At the end of the patient's surgery, completed successfully by Dr. Preston Burke, Meredith is being instructed on how to remove the ammo by a bomb squad member.

As she removes it, the song dramatically begins to play.

Spoilers ahead if you somehow missed this when it aired 20 years ago in 2006.

Because of the prevalence in media, "Breathe (2 AM)" continues to have a legacy long past its release 22 years ago. And especially for nostalgic millennials or those who watched Meredith Grey cheat death for the first of many, many times, it's sure to spark memories even at just the opening chords.

The jewelry collaboration arrives during one of the biggest years of Langley's career.

Earlier this year, she dominated the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards by winning Female Artist of the Year along with six additional trophies, making her the night's most awarded artist after sweeping every category in which she was nominated.

Her momentum has continued throughout the year as her sophomore album Dandelion fueled the launch of The Dandelion Tour, where fans have regularly spotted the Greta Choker and Stella Hoops on stage.

The jewelry release also follows Langley's growing list of lifestyle partnerships.

She recently strengthened her ongoing relationship with western footwear brand Tecovas, which became an official sponsor of The Dandelion Tour after previously appearing in both the "You Look Like You Love Me" and "Choosin' Texas" music videos, per WWD.

Langley has remained one of country music's biggest breakout stars over the past two years, fueled by the massive success of "Choosin' Texas."

The hit recently returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for an eleventh week, setting a new record for the longest-running No. 1 Hot 100 hit by a woman with a country song.

The achievement also created a historic Billboard moment, as women occupied the top three positions on the Hot 100 with country songs for the first time.

With sold-out shows, chart records, major awards and expanding creative partnerships, the exclusive Hillbetty collaboration represents another step in Langley's fast-growing presence both on and off the stage.

Kim Kardashian's 'Micro' Outfits Are a Big Hit

Wed, 07/01/2026 - 11:43pm

Kim Kardashian once again generated major buzz after sharing a head-turning Instagram post.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took to social media to unveil the latest launch from her shapewear empire, Skims.

Instead of a traditional campaign shoot, the 45-year-old turned even the smallest fashion statement into a major moment after posting a series of snaps flaunting her curvaceous figure in teeny-tiny lingerie from the "Micro Fits Everybody" line.

The Skims founder stunned in different variations of the newly launched collection including leopard and bright pink.

The comment section was flooded with fans swooning over the reality star's sultry outfit.

“She doesn't miss!!” one wrote, which means the businesswoman and socialite consistently delivers amazing campaign looks.

The same sentiment was echoed by another fan who remarked, “Kim K always gets it right.”

“Baywatch could never,” a playful comment from a follower.

“Itty Bitty Kimmy Committee,” a fan poked fun.

“Lewis is such a lucky man omgg!” a commenter said, referring to the F1 star and Kim Kardashian's rumored boyfriend.

Kardashian's barely there look offers a different take on the brand's best-selling Fits Everybody line.

The Umber Leopard Print bralette, which retails for $38, features "adjustable micro cups and halter ties at the neck" and is elevated by "dainty lace trim and a center bow detail," while the matching Fits Everybody Lace Micro Thong retails for $20.

As seen in her Instagram post, the collection also includes an Ultra Pink version, which retails for the same price.

Launched in 2019, Skims started as a shapewear brand inspired by Kim Kardashian's struggle to find shapewear that matched her skin tone.

“I used to take my shapewear and dye it with tea bags and coffee in the bathtub,” she told Time Magazine in 2023, adding that she would cut off one leg of her Spanx and tape the ends to prevent it from rolling up.

With the success of the brand, which reached a $3.2 billion valuation in 2022, Skims eventually evolved beyond shapewear to include loungewear, basics, and swimwear.

In addition, she also teamed up with Nike to launch NikeSKIMS, a new brand offering footwear, apparel and accessories.

Mindy Kaling Looks Back on the Blunt Weight Loss Advice Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Gave Her

Wed, 07/01/2026 - 10:55pm

MindyKaling is grateful for the advice AmyPoehler and TinaFey gave her 30 years ago.

The actress and writer spoke about her struggle with her body image and adjusting to being on camera in a recent episode of Poehler's Good Hang podcast.

Kaling, known for projects such asThe Office and Never Have I Ever, met Poehler and Fey around 2005. She was a guest writer onSaturday Night Live while the comedy duo were cast members.

"I remember this story, and I'm not proud of it," Kaling shared. "We were somewhere, and I was like, 'I just want to lose 30 pounds,' and the two of you stopped and were like, 'What? That is too much weight.'"

"I remember I was so happy for like three weeks after," she continued. "I was like, 'Wow, Amy and Tina don't think I'm a fat load.' I was so happy."

The 47-year-old comedian reflected how normal these conversations around losing weight were at the time.

Kaling shared that when Poehler and Fey acknowledged her statement, she felt heard. She explained the duo could have ignored her, but instead they had a necessary discussion.

"I think to be able to be with two of my heroes and have them acknowledge — because you could have easily been like, 'We don't ever think about it. We're naturally thin,'" she said. "I think really it was a kindness for you to acknowledge."

"Just like everybody else, we're constantly trying to figure out everybody's relationship to being on camera," Poehler told her guest. "And I do think that, for better or for worse, what women do for each other and to each other is they talk about their bodies to each other."

Kaling and Poehler spoke about how times have changed in terms of how weight is viewed

"We're still asking people about their weight. We're still asking people about their bodies,” Poehler said. “I have a couple, like, rules that I never say out loud on this podcast, but one of them is I try not to talk about people's bodies”

Best-Selling Author’s Classic Novel Ranked Among ‘Most Read Books’ in United States on Goodreads

Wed, 07/01/2026 - 10:37pm

A novel about a fictional Hollywood icon has become one of the biggest real-life success stories in modern publishing.

Nearly a decade after its release, Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo continues to dominate readers' bookshelves, currently ranking among Goodreads' most-read books in the United States this week. The sustained popularity underscores the remarkable staying power of a novel that has only grown in influence since it first arrived in 2017.

The book follows the life of Evelyn Hugo, a reclusive movie legend who finally decides to reveal the truth behind her glamorous career, her seven marriages and the great love of her life. She entrusts the story to an unknown magazine journalist, Monique Grant, setting the stage for a sweeping tale of ambition, sacrifice, identity and the price of fame.

"I was obsessed with Hollywood from the time I was a kid," Reid told Huff Post in 2017. "I always knew I wanted to live in Los Angeles. I worked in feature film casting right out of college and spent a lot of time working with actors, directors, and producers. And then I realized my true heart was in literature, and I shifted course. But all of that Hollywood love went into this book."

Although the novel was an immediate critical success, its popularity exploded in the years that followed. Readers on BookTok, Bookstagram and Goodreads embraced Reid's emotionally rich storytelling and glamorous Old Hollywood setting, transforming The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo into a modern classic through word of mouth. It has since become one of the author's defining works and remains a favorite among book clubs and online reading communities.

The novel also helped cement Reid as one of today's most successful authors. She followed The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo with acclaimed bestsellers including Daisy Jones & The Six, Malibu Rising, Carrie Soto Is Back and, most recently, Atmosphere. Her signature blend of compelling characters, richly imagined settings and emotionally resonant storytelling has earned millions of devoted readers around the world.

Interest in The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo has remained especially strong as fans continue awaiting Netflix's long-planned film adaptation. While details have emerged over the years, no official cast has been announced, only fueling ongoing speculation about who will bring Evelyn Hugo to life on screen.

"It's wild to me," Reid told Vanity Fair. "Can I tell you that you cannot tell who is cast as Evelyn Hugo by who I follow on Instagram? But you would not know that based on my Twitter mentions! I would get so stressed out about it at first. But then I was like, 'Go do whatever you're going to do. You're not going to listen to me.' People get really granular with that kind of stuff, and I’m just trying to take it as a compliment that they are that invested."

Its continued appearance among Goodreads' most-read books demonstrates just how enduring the novel has become. Nearly 10 years after publication, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo continues to attract first-time readers while rewarding longtime fans, proving that Reid's unforgettable portrait of love, ambition and reinvention has secured its place among the defining novels of the 21st century.

’70s Metal Band Announces Update Amid 2026 World Tour

Wed, 07/01/2026 - 9:56pm

Iron Maiden, the iconic heavy metal band, delivered exciting news to fans as its highly anticipated world tour continues.

The veteran rock stars, currently in the middle of their Run For Your Lives World Tour to celebrate their 50th anniversary, sparked excitement by announcing an update that will make one of their upcoming shows even more memorable for fans.

In an Instagram post, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees revealed that they will film their performance at  EddFest in Knebworth Park in the UK on July 10 and 11.

“You all know what happened in Paris; we all know what happened in Paris, so we’re gonna finish it off at Knebworth, and we’ll see you there,” Iron Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris said in a clip.

Bruce DIckinson and Simon Dawson from Iron Maiden perform on stage at Trondheim Rocks on June 05, 2025.

Per Ole Hagen/Redferns

“Knebworth is being filmed,” lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson added, “We’re not gonna lose what we did in Paris, but we're gonna add to it with some amazing stuff from Knebworth. So, Knebworth, be on your best behavior.”

The band had planned to film the footage at the Paris La Défense Arena on June 22, but the production was disrupted by a massive hour-long power outage.

View this post on Instagram

As a result, the concert attended by more than 30,000 fans was delayed by about an hour, leading the band to skip its planned encore to comply with the venue's curfew. Afterwards, the band issued a statement explaining what happened.

Following the unexpected incident, Iron Maiden expressed its deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and patience throughout the disruption.

“Despite everything, the audience and atmosphere last night were fantastic and, like every other challenge Iron Maiden have faced over the years, we’ll find a way to deal with and overcome the missing songs in the encore when it comes to the final film,” the frontman mentioned in a statement as cited by The PRP. “We know that many of you travelled long distances, waited patiently throughout the interruption, and were looking forward to experiencing the complete Run For Your Lives show. We share your disappointment. No one is more frustrated than the band and crew, who were eager to deliver the full performance you deserved.”

Following the U.K. run, Iron Maiden is also gearing up for the continuation of its North American leg from late August through September, followed by dates across Latin America in October and early November.
