Cava Just Introduced a New Protein—and It's a First for the Chain

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:05pm

Cava isn't exactly known for playing it safe, but this latest menu move still feels like a big one. The fast-casual Mediterranean chain, best known for its customizable bowls piled high with dips, grains and bold toppings, is finally adding something that's been noticeably missing: seafood.

On April 20, Cava rolled out glazed salmon nationwide, marking the first time fish has ever been offered as a protein option. It's a natural fit for a brand rooted in Mediterranean flavors, where seafood is a staple rather than an occasional add-on. But for longtime fans used to chicken, lamb or falafel, this opens up an entirely new way to build a bowl.

Cava's First-Ever Seafood Protein Is Finally Here View this post on Instagram

Cava's new glazed salmon isn't just a plain fillet tossed onto the menu. The chain developed it with a specific flavor profile in mind, using a house-made pomegranate glaze that has sweet-tart, Levantine-inspired notes.

The salmon is roasted until flaky with a lightly caramelized finish, designed to pair with the chain's existing lineup of greens, grains and spreads. It's also meant to be versatile—you can add it to any build-your-own bowl or order it as part of one of two preset combinations.

This launch has been a long time coming. "At the Mediterranean table, seafood is enjoyed every day," said Cava co-founder Ted Xenohristos, noting it's "not only reserved for special occasions." Translation: Salmon was always going to show up eventually—it just took time to get it right.

These Are the Two New Salmon Bowls Everyone Will Be Ordering

If you don't feel like building your own bowl, Cava is introducing two chef-curated options built around the new protein.

The Salmon and Yogurt Dill Bowl is the more classic option. It features glazed salmon over arugula and saffron basmati rice, with hummus, Crazy Feta, fire-roasted corn, tomato, onion, cucumber and a creamy yogurt dill dressing tying everything together. It's rich, herb-forward, and closer to what you'd expect from a traditional Mediterranean plate.

Then there's the Salmon and Strawberry Sesame Bowl, which takes a slightly unexpected turn. This one pairs salmon and tzatziki with brown rice and spinach, then adds roasted red pepper hummus, feta, tomato, cucumber, and a tart strawberry sesame dressing. The sweet-savory contrast is a bit more modern—and likely the one that'll get the most attention.

Both bowls are about 700 calories each, making them comparable to Cava's existing hearty builds.

Early Reviews Are Already Rolling In Another 75k, then you have my permission to die
by in subaru

Early reactions to the salmon are a bit mixed—but that's not unusual for a brand-new protein.

Some customers are all in. One Reddit user called it "flavorful & worth it," adding that if it's cooked right, it's an easy standout on the menu. Others appreciate having a seafood option at all, especially those who've been waiting for something beyond meat or falafel.

At the same time, not everyone is convinced. A few early reviews mention inconsistency, with one person saying it wasn't enough to pull them away from their usual order. Another noted that the flavor can depend heavily on sauces and toppings, rather than the glaze itself.

That said, plenty of people are lining up to try it for themselves. And for Cava, that's kind of the point. New proteins have historically been a major driver of the chain, and this one taps into a category that was entirely missing.

Whether it becomes a permanent staple or stays a seasonal experiment, one thing's clear: Cava's menu just got a lot more interesting.

This Father-Son Duo Will Announce the Pittsburgh Steelers 3rd Round Picks at the NFL Draft

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:04pm

Football fans can barely wait for the 2026 NFL Draft. And if you’re one of the many who are currently obsessing over the annual event, it’s your time to shine! The draft is here—and one very well-known father-son duo is primed to announce the third-round picks.

Who Will Announce the Team’s Picks at the 2026 NFL Draft?

The NFL is holding this year’s draft in the “steel city.” And with that in mind, finding out who the Pittsburgh Steelers draft is a top priority for fans from across the country.

Several current and former Pittsburgh Steelers will take part in the event. This includes Hall of Famer John Stallworth (who will announce the team’s second-round draft picks) and father-son duo Joey Porter Sr. and Joey Porter Jr. (who will announce the team’s third-round draft picks).

Not only are the Porters legendary players who both hold special spots in Pittsburgh’s history, but they also represent generations of Steelers football.

Porter Sr., a linebacker who was drafted (in the third round) by the Steelers in the ‘90s, started his family’s legacy almost three decades ago. He played for the team from 1999 through 2006, after which he joined the Miami Dolphins (2007 to 2009) and the Arizona Cardinals (2010 to 2011). He later returned to Pittsburgh as the Steelers’ lineback coach from 2015 through 2018. In a statement on the Steelers’ website, Porter Jr. shared what playing for the team meant to him: “I used to watch the Steelers when I was younger. I watched all those guys. Once I got here some of those guys were still in the locker room and that was amazing too. I loved it here.”

He continued, “That tradition of being a Steeler is something you can’t explain. You realize it when you go somewhere else and play for a different organization. I played for some other organizations that were great, but it’s nothing like Pittsburgh. It’s nothing like coming home…I knew when I left, I would retire a Steeler. When you say Joey Porter, you think Pittsburgh.”

Of participating in the NFL draft, Porter Sr. said, “I’ve been part of some crazy, awesome things already in Pittsburgh with J.J. (Joey Jr.) being drafted by the Steelers too. For J.J. and I to have an opportunity to get on stage and announce the third-round pick and calling their name to be drafted is going to be amazing.”

Like Porter Sr., Joey Porter Jr. is another fan-favorite player. The Steelers’ cornerback was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, after playing for Penn State. Having grown up in Pittsburgh, this was a full-circle moment for Porter Jr. After his own draft announcement, the cornerback posted a series of photos on Instagram, including a poignant pic from his childhood years wearing his dad’s number 55 jersey.

View this post on Instagram

Of course, the Porters aren't the only famous football faces that will announce the draft picks. According to the NFL, Legends and active players from all 32 of the league’s clubs will announce their team’s selections, including Arizona’s James Conner, Minnesota’s Brian O’Neill, Tennessee’s Jeffery Simmons, Dallas’s Tony Dorsett, and Miami’s Dwight Stephenson.

Readers Loved This Best-Selling Novel—Now It’s Among 2025’s Most Banned Books

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:01pm

A beloved coming-of-age novel that has resonated with readers for decades is unexpectedly on a new list reporting the most challenged and banned books of 2025.

According to a newly released report from the American Library Association (ALA), The Perks of Being a Wallflower by best-selling author Stephen Chbosky has been named one of the most frequently challenged books of 2025—landing at No. 2 on the organization’s annual list.

The ranking comes as part of the ALA’s yearly roundup of the titles most often targeted for removal or restriction in schools and libraries across the United States. This year’s report highlights the continued surge in challenges, with both predictable and unexpected books on the list.

Originally published in 1999, The Perks of Being a Wallflower became a breakout hit thanks to its raw portrayal of teenage life. Told through a series of letters written by the introverted protagonist Charlie, the novel explores themes of mental health, identity, friendship, and trauma. These topics have helped readers connect with the novel for many years, and it has since become a beloved classic.

According to the ALA, most of the requests for bans are from organized movements, including "pressure groups, government officials, and decision makers," as the association described.

As for the reason behind the censoring of the books, the ALA shared that the most common reasons given are "false claims of illegal obscenity for minors; inclusion of LGBTQIA+ characters or themes; and covering topics of race, racism, equity, and social justice."

The ALA used the list to condemn the continual censorship of books and highlight the First Amendment right to read and access information.

While The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a very loved novel, it's not a huge surprise that it ranks so high on the list, as many people who try to censor reading target books about LGBTQ+ topics and difficult subjects like abuse and trauma, which are all explored in Chbosky's book. But it is a little unexpected that the book ranked so high, as there are many classic novels that have faced censorship for much longer.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower reportedly had 33 total challenges in 2025, with the only book that had more in the United States being the novel Sold by Patricia McCormick, which tells the story of a 13-year-old Nepalese girl named Lakshmi who is tricked and sold into sexual slavery in India by her stepfather.

1966 Classic Rock Hit Is Making a Massive Comeback 60 Years Later

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:57pm

While The Troggs might not be considered a household name, just about everybody everywhere knows at least one of the influential '60s rock band's songs: Their 1966 #1 hit, "Wild Thing," is still considered a rock standard over half a decade later. Recently, though, another classic track from The Troggs making a major comeback.

Following the success of "Wild Thing," The Troggs — once called "the progenitors of punk" by iconic Rolling Stone critic Lester Bangs — released "With a Girl Like You," an undeniably catchy, upbeat love song that didn't fare quite as well on the charts as its predecessor (it peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100). Still, the tune was met favorably enough by critics and fans at the time, and it hasn't been forgotten in the decades since.

In fact, "With a Girl Like You" is currently experiencing a sort of renaissance, thanks to a recent commercial for The Farmer’s Dog, titled "More Good Years." (So if you've been walking around with this stuck in your head lately, you're definitely not alone: "I want to spend my life with a girl like you, Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba.")

The ad is a super sweet clip featuring a series of dogs running, playing and spending quality time with their humans (as well as enjoying Farmer's Dog food, of course). The text on the screen reads: "Clinically shown to help dogs age well."

The combination of the images and the song results in a seriously feel-good spot, and fans are discovering (or rediscovering) what made "With a Girl Like You" so great in the first place.

"The use of ‘With a Girl Like You’ elevates the bond between human and animal to a form of primary love — an existential partnership that spans the seasons of life," wrote Carlo Affatigato of Auralcrave. "That rhythmic 'ba ba ba ba' is no longer just a pop refrain; it is the heartbeat of a friendship that renews itself with every meal. And it can last even longer if we take proper care of our pets."

"Dog lovers out there are probably connecting to the message of this song really well," agreed Ben Wilder, writing for Out of the Wilderness. "I know I am. My dogs, born in Nashville, have been with me through all sorts of life events. I want to spend my life with a (dog) like you because like I said it, dogs are the best. Cats are cool, too, fine I’ll admit it."

'With a Girl Like You' is a big hit with dog lovers

Fans on YouTube were similarly full of praise for the song's use in the campaign.

"This commercial is the best Farmer's Dog commercial yet. It really tugs at your heart strings. This song is an old song by The Troggs 'A Girl Like You.' Could not have put a better song as a tribute to the dogs in our lives that we love so much," raved one commenter.

"Whoever is the music guru behind these commercials deserves a raise. These ads just make me happy....and curious to research the original music. I just love these. Bravo!!!" wrote a second person.

"I love this commercial! That little white dog is the cutest thing ever. Especially the nose wiggle! I'm old enough to remember when this song first came out. It's perfect for this," declared yet another fan.

"We have a new puppy and I sing this tune to him and he loves it! He knows it’s our special play time and 'dances,'" someone else shared.

Hitting the top of the charts might be an impressive accomplishment, but it could be said that making a puppy dance is an even bigger honor.

Critics Are Split on the New Michael Jackson Biopic —But They Agree On One Thing

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:32pm

The new Michael Jacksonbiopic Michael is already sparking conversation. Critics from The New York Times to Rotten Tomatoes can’t agree on the film. While some say it “plays mostly like a greatest hits album,” others call it “soulful” and a crowd-pleaser with a terrific soundtrack. Michael is scheduled for theatrical release on Friday, April 24, 2026. While reactions are varied, critics do agree on one thing: Jaafar Jackson, 29, delivers a standout performance.

Critics React to the Michael Jackson Biopic Michael

For many reviewers, criticism of Michael has focused on how the film balances Michael Jackson’s legendary music career with the more complicated aspects of his life, including child sex abuse allegations that followed him for years. Scenes depicting the 2005 trial and related allegations were ultimately removed and replaced with newly shot material. As the only biopic sanctioned and executive produced by Michael Jackson’s estate, some critics describe the film as “sanitized.”

In addition to bringing Michael Jackson’s iconic songs and dance moves to the big screen, critics widely agree that Jaafar Jackson delivers a performance worthy of the King of Pop. The actor, who is Michael Jackson’s nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson, channels his uncle’s signature style with striking accuracy.

Fast Company highlights Jaafar Jackson’s “undeniable charisma.” USA Today’s Melissa Ruggieri writes, “Jaafar may share his late uncle's megawatt smile, lithe frame and Bambi eyelashes, but his liquid dance moves – highlighted as he teaches gang members the footwork in the 'Beat It' video – and soft-spoken cadence are studied to perfection. This is not about nepotism.”

Michael may be receiving mixed reviews overall, but its lead performance is earning widespread recognition. Early box office projections suggest the film could bring in between $60 million and $70 million during its opening weekend, driven by strong fan interest and nostalgia.

Why Fans Are Still Showing Up for Michael

For longtime fans, the film offers a chance to revisit the energy, style, and originality of Michael Jackson at his peak. Known for albums like Thriller and Bad, and songs like "Billie Jean" and "Beat It," his influence continues to resonate across generations. For many viewers, watching Michael is less about finding a perfect biopic and more about reconnecting with one of the greatest performers of all time.

Critics may remain divided on Antoine Fuqua’s film, but Jaafar Jackson’s performance is one thing they continue to agree on.

Who Got Voted Off 'Survivor 50' Tonight? Jimmy Fallon Seals One Player’s Fate!

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:30pm

When the merge of Survivor 50 hit, the show was sure to keep the returning players on their toes with a litany of twists. In the past three weeks alone, we had the massive "Blood Moon" that sent a whopping three players out of the game, as well as the "Double Duo" drop that sent two people out at once. But the twists keep on a-coming, with a couple this week courtesy of another famous Survivor fan: Jimmy Fallon.

Here's our spoiler-filled recap of last night's episode of Survivor 50, including who went home and the new advantage Fallon brought into the game.

Who got voted off on Survivor 50 tonight? Christian Hubicki on 'Survivor 50'

Robert Voets/CBS

Christian Hubicki

David vs. Goliath standout Christian Hubicki came into Survivor 50 wielding a massive slingshot: "Narrative warfare." And, indeed, through the first half of the game, Christian has massive control of the narrative — due in part to the fact that he attended Tribal Council in every single episode. But it wasn't just pants pooping and tripping that got him airtime.

From the very beginning, Christian found himself the social and strategic hub of both tribes he was a part of. He linked up quickly with Rick Devens, as the two hatched a plan to both give Aubry Bracco an idol, as well as plant a fake one at Tribal Council. He banked on a pregame relationship with Emily Flippen, even when she was at her most chaotic and outing his secrets. And, at the swap, he reunited with his former castmates Mike White and Angelina Keeley. Unfortunately, as he kept facing the vote, he had to prioritize the present over the past. Looking to build a future for his secret newborn son, he did what he couldn't last time, taking out Mike and Angelina in a move that not only severed their game ties, but perhaps real-life ones as well.

Despite going to Tribal Council so often, Christian seemed to have a surprisingly low profile going into the merge, especially with the alliance led by Coach Wade serving as a primary talking point. But, much like severe gastrointestinal distress, trouble can bubble up at any surprise moment. Christian broke his word to Jonathan Youngand Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick with his vote last episode, setting the new minority's sights squarely on him. Additionally, he began targeting Ozzy Lusth for playing the middle, unintentionally pitching it to his secret number one ally in Cirie Fields. And so, all of a sudden, the perceived middleman suddenly became a communal target.

Perhaps that's the reason why Christian opted to go on a journey following the Immunity Challenge. And, on paper, as one of the most prolific puzzle solvers in Survivor history, it seemed like a slam-dunk way to win an advantage. But Christian surprisingly had no brain with the no-brainer, failing the challenge. As a result, he didn't lose his vote, but, in a Survivor first, he was forced to vote for himself. That only added fuel to the fire for everyone in the game, who was tripping over themselves to get rid of such a savvy threat. And so, Christian was taken out, which some quite choice words for Jimmy Fallon: "This idea you had is terrible. No more ideas for you. I look forward to your apology."

Were any idols or advantages found or played on Survivor 50 tonight?

Technically speaking, Christian was forced to vote for himself as part of the "Jimmy Fallon One in the Urn" advantage. And much of the action of the episode's first half revolved around Rick's fake idol gambit last episode, as the majority of the tribe was incensed by him being so public and essentially putting a target on his back. Somehow, though, his implied safety was able to get him through the night without even needing to play the fake idol?

What is Jimmy Fallon's Survivor twist?

While Jimmy Fallon had a part in how this episode's challenge went down (see below), his biggest impact came in the journey that followed. Christian was taken out to a platform for a premise we've seen before: Solve a puzzle in a certain amount of time (as dictated by anchors falling into the seas) to earn an advantage. This advantage, however, was a brand-new one.

The "Jimmy Fallon One in the Urn" advantage allowed one person to put an automatic vote against someone in the urn before Tribal Council began. If Christian were to win it, he would write someone's name down right there and then, and that vote would automatically count against them that night. Unfortunately, Christian failed the challenge. As a result, there was an automatic vote in the urn, and it was for him. In a Survivor first, Christian was forced to vote against himself (something that has been against the rules up to this point), which he had to announce to everybody. The usually-loquacious robotics professor had some choice words towards the late-night host for this twist, both at Tribal Council and when ultimately voting for himself.

In the hands of...Jeff Probst?!

Fallon also played a role, according to Jeff Probst, in this season's version of the rice negotiation. As the host revealed in the season premiere, the fans voted for the players of Survivor 50 to not start the game with rice. However, they were given the opportunity to earn some in this week's Immunity Challenge. The only thing they had to do is have four people make a side bet: That they could outlast Probst himself in the challenge.

As the proceedings kicked off, Probst commented that this twist was due in part to an appearance he made on Fallon, where 90% of his audience wanted Probst to be a player himself. So, for about seven and a half minutes, he was. It was a grueling experience, however, with the Emmy winner immediately noting how surprisingly tough it was from the jump. Ultimately, while he outlasted four players, everyone who made the side bet still held on, allowing the tribe to get their rice. And it gave Probst even more appreciation for the immense efforts these players put into these challenges. As he puts it, "I bow down. I’ll never talk the same trash again. Until next season."

The rectangle rug is made of 100% polypropylene, with a 50% polypropylene and 50% latex backing. It's a low pile rug, meaning you won't trip over it while you're walking since it's less than 0.5 inches tall, and consists of a loomed fabric. It's recommended to hose the rug clean with water for best results.  The rug can be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes, so it can blend in effortlessly with your patio furniture or be a "perfect addition" to your entryway.

The design features interwoven tropical leaves in contrasting colors, which makes the rug reminiscent of an island vacation (a fun inclusion for those with beach houses, too). Shoppers described the piece as "beautiful," "well-made," "gorgeous," and "absolutely lovely," with the 9-foot by 12-foot offering being "spacious enough to comfortably fit a table with four chairs."

Nancy Guthrie Update: Porch Blood Stain Pattern Indicates She Put Up a Fight, Says FBI Profiler

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:18pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing after her Feb. 1 abduction in Tucson, Ariz.—and an FBI profiler recently speculated that the 84-year-old put up a fight, according to the blood stain pattern on her front porch.

In the Wednesday, April 22 episode of Brian Entin Investigates,  Jim Clemente, a retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler, spoke with NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin.

During their chat, the two men spoke extensively about the blood splatter—which was confirmed to have belonged to Nancy—found on the front porch of her Catalina Foothills residence.

"I believe that she was threatened—she was controlled by, most likely, the gun that the offender had at his waist or his crotch area," Clemente speculated. "And that he used the gun to threaten her, control her, and get her down to the front door. At that point or shortly thereafter, she realized he was trying to take her out of the house."

The former FBI agent explained that if an offender is attempting to take a victim away from a location, it "never bodes well for the victim" because it means they are trying to take the victim to a location where they have more privacy and control.

"I believe that Nancy fought him, either inside the door, or just outside, depending on where the first appearance of this blood splatter evidence is," Clemente told Entin. "And at that point, she was likely either blitzed with overwhelming force, punched in the face or the nose, and she began bleeding. She went down, either on her knees or just hunched over. And then coughed up this blood, which is why we see this pattern."

Additionally, Clemente speculated, "I think at that point, she was likely picked up by the offender. He or she, having stepped in and smeared, or another body part of hers touching the blood that she had coughed up already, and smearing in the patterns that we see here."

He added, "And then from that point forward, she was carried to whatever vehicle he had. And at that point, she was likely turned with her face up so that we see no further blood dripping from the face wounds that likely caused this pattern."

Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31. Despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward, no suspect has been named.

Brenda Song Reveals Her 'Pettiest' Fight With Macaulay Culkin

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:15pm

Actress Brenda Song is sharing some insight into her relationship with her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin.

In the April 22 episode of Cosmo Goes Deep, Song and her Running Point co-star,Kate Hudson, asked each other a series of questions. When Hudson asked, "What's the pettiest thing you and your partner fight over," Song paused, which prompted the Song Sung Blue star to answer instead. According to Hudson, she and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, have gotten in disagreements about watching television shows.

"If I'm like working and I'm gone for two weeks and I end up watching an episode of a show that we were watching together, we can actually get into not a fight, but definitely an argument," said Hudson while speaking to Song.

Song then shared that she and Culkin, the father of her two sons, Dakota, 5, and Carson, 3, aren't always happy with each other when playing the video game Mario Kart.

"One thing that we can argue about is we do play Mario Kart sometimes like in bed. And then we get very, very competitive and we will like get like mildly mad at each other, for like cutting me off or like winning, beating me last minute. That's probably the pettiest thing," said Song.

Song shared how much she appreciates being in a relationship with Culkin in a March 2025 interview with Access Hollywood. She said that when she began dating Culkin in 2017, neither of them was "looking for a relationship."

"I think that's what was so beautiful. I always say he's like my unicorn. I wasn't going to settle for anything, but he is exactly what I was hoping to look for," said Song in the 2025 interview.

Song also said that the Home Alone star is her first real love and also her "best friend."

"He understands my work, we can talk about football, we talk about basketball, we can cook together. I think I just really lucked out," said Song in the Access Hollywood interview.

Best-Selling Author’s Novel Ranked ‘Most Read Book’ in United States

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 8:10pm

A new romantasy novel has quickly become one of the most sought-after reads in the country.

Rites of the Starling by Devney Perry has earned the title of the most-read book in the United States on Goodreads this week, according to user data, an impressive feat for a sequel that's only just arrived.

Released on April 7, the novel is already a New York Times bestseller, signaling major momentum among readers. It also marks the second installment in Perry's bestselling Shield of Sparrows series, continuing a story that has quickly built a devoted fanbase.

Described as an epic, heart-pounding follow-up, Rites of the Starling expands its fantasy world with higher stakes, deeper emotion and a sweeping sense of adventure. The story follows a princess navigating a cursed realm in search of the truth about her family only to discover that her journey is tied to the fate of a lost warrior.

As the five kingdoms of Calandra stand on the brink of destruction, a looming migration threatens to upend everything. In the aftermath of a devastating attack, the heroine finds herself separated from the man she loves, alone in a dangerous world filled with monsters, uncertainty and betrayal. Along the way, she is pushed to her limits: kidnapped, hunted and forced to protect a young girl depending on her survival.

But what begins as a desperate fight to endure soon becomes something more. As secrets unravel and her strength is tested, she is faced with impossible expectations—queen, spy, sacrifice—and must decide who she is willing to become. In a story where love, danger and magic collide, her choices could determine not only her fate, but the future of an entire realm.

"The characters in each book are always the driving force behind the story," Perry told Publisher's Weekly in 2024. "But I love to make each book in a series unique, whether that's by adding an element of mystery or various tropes. I love writing a series of interconnected standalone books so I can revisit past characters while at the same time keeping the storylines fresh and different."

With its blend of romance, high-stakes fantasy and emotional depth, Rites of the Starling is already striking a chord with readers. Perry has already taken to social media to announce the third book in the series.

"Shield of Sparrows #3 is coming March 9th, 2027!" she wrote on Instagram. "This date marks my 10 year publishing anniversary, and when Red Tower tossed it out as a potential release date, I said YES! I can't think of a better way to celebrate 10 years of books than with the conclusion of this trilogy and Odessa's story."

Its rapid rise on Goodreads and the bestseller list suggests it's not just a hit, but one of the defining books of the moment.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Reveals Its First Celebrity Contestants for 2026

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 7:49pm

Dancing With the Stars is returning for another season, making it 35 now for the dance competition, and today the ABC series revealed its first two celebrity contestants: Summer House star Ciara Miller and The Traitors’ Maura Higgins.

The reveal was made during Hulu’s Get Real House 2026 presentation at Casa Lago in Beverly Hills, CA.

🎬SIGN UP for our Dancing with the Stars newsletter to get access to exclusive news, interviews, songs, recaps & more🎬

Ciara was a cast member on Season 10 of Summer House and competed in Season 3 of Peacock's The Traitors. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she is a registered nurse who specialized as an ICU travel nurse during the pandemic, and has been modeling since age 16. Ciara has been the talk of the town as of late, in the center of a whirlwind involving her Summer House castmates, as a profuse amount of drama has come out over a secret affair between her frequent partner, West Wilson, and former bestie Amanda Batula. The subsequent fallout has brought many Bravo fans to her side, and hopefully they'll be following her to the dance floor as well.

Maura is an Irish television personality, model, and presenter who rose to fame as a finalist on Season 5 of Love Island UK in 2019. She followed up her appearance as a contestant by serving as a social media ambassador for Love Island USA and Love Island Games, and currently hosts Love Island USA: Aftersun. She also appeared in Season 4 of The Traitors as a "Faithful," finishing as the runner-up.

She played the entire time in the castle alongside fellow Love Island alum Rob Rausch, completely unaware he was in the turret the entire season. And so she experienced the most shocking blindside of the season in the closing minutes, as the two of them went to the end together, only for him to take the money he thought she had won. The good news: He bought her a Birkin bag for consolation. And hopefully she'll get a Mirror Ball to match!

The full cast of celebrities and pro dancers for Season 35 of Dancing with the Starswill be announced at a later date.

The winner will land a coveted spot as a pro dancer on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.

DWTSfan favorite Mark Ballas and his mother Shirley Ballas have been set to judge the competition.

Dancing with the Stars, hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, will return this fall on ABC and Disney+ and stream next day on Hulu.

Country Star Shares Powerful Mental Health Message After Experiencing ‘Terrifying’ Panic Attack: ‘I Had Several Breakdowns’

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 7:41pm

When it comes to country music stars, Lainey Wilson is undeniably on top of her game. Between touring, brand collaborations, and hosting award shows, there’s no stopping her. Heck, she even has a song out called “Can’t Sit Still,” which reflects her on-the-go personality.

But while the Baskin, Louisiana, native, 33, appears to be enjoying every minute of her success, even she admits that the pressures of being an in-demand artist who’s always ready for the next moment have taken a toll on her. So much so that she acknowledges experiencing mental health challenges, including having once gone through a serious panic attack, which led her to seek help from three therapists.

A Message to Others

Wilson is sharing her story so others won’t feel afraid to open up about their own mental health.

"Speak up when you're not feeling great, because there most likely will be people around you who can help you through it or get you the help you need," the Grammy Award-winning superstar told People as part of the publication’s cover story. "If you're not telling the people around you how you're feeling, then nobody's going to know.”

The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer, who spent years in Nashville performing as an unsigned artist before becoming famous, opened up about her terrifying panic attack episode as well as her struggles with depression and anxiety in her brand new documentary, Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which arrived on Netflix on Wednesday, April 22.

Her Hectic Schedule

Recalling a moment from 2019, during an ambitious radio tour at a pivotal point in her career, she said, "I was going around meeting every radio station in America. You go into a conference room, and you play your song, and sometimes they're into it, sometimes they're on their phone, sometimes you're singing to the carpet."

"After four months solid visiting all these different radio stations, I was just exhausted, and I was burned out from having to constantly be on," she added. "I wanted to curl up in a little ball and shut the world out completely.”

Further explaining her feelings in her documentary, Wilson acknowledged that her career dreams had come to fruition, but pointed out how every opportunity came at the same time.

“A couple of years ago was wild,” she shared in the special, according to iHeartCountry.com. “When opportunities come at you, and you didn’t have any for so long, you want to just take them all. And I guess a little bit of that was probably fear that they weren’t always going to be there. And I think, too, I was probably finding my self-worth in what I was doing. The performer, the artist, the songwriter, the girl who’s going and shaking everybody’s hands and kissing everybody’s babies. Instead of who I truly am. I had reached a point where I was just like, I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same.”

“I was extremely anxious, and anxiousness caused depression. And it’s like the depression caused more anxiety because I was like, ‘why in the world am I depressed during this time of my life?” she continued. “This is everything I’ve ever wanted.’ …I had several breakdowns, I guess you could say. I was just losing it. I was like, I don’t know if I can go any further.”

Calling her panic attack a “terrifying chemical imbalance” that was happening, she revealed, “I was spiraling out of control. And then it’s like the fear of thinking that you’re always going to be in that mindset causes more anxiety. It’s just like a vicious cycle.”

Unforgettable Advice

Luckily, Wilson is on the other side of those feelings and part of what had helped her — aside from therapy — was some guidance from her hero, Reba McEntire

“'When I feel like I can’t do it anymore, I do it for somebody else,’” Wilson remembered what McEntire told her. “It was like a light bulb went off.”

Netflix

Part one of the reunion was released on The Viall Files on April 22. They revealed that they're still in a relationship. It's been nine months since filming, but they haven't moved in together or gotten a dog.

"It's just kind of the realities of life that can [...] prolong that process," Summit told Natalie Joy and Nick Viall. Kaylee already knows she wants a "weiner dog" or a Dachshund. "She brainwashed me into wanting one," he said.

Kaylee talked about how Summit's comments about her body hurt her. She also wanted to be a priority in his life. Summit told her he was shocked by her calling him a "sociopath." Kaylee said Summit hasn't said any hurtful things to her since the show. Summit chalked up his past to thinking he could talk to a woman like "a guy" instead of being gentle.

The couple decided to leave together at the final bonfire. Summit said Kaylee is enough and shouldn't change. Kaylee was happy to see Summit wanted to change for himself and show more empathy. He claimed he wanted to commit to her by moving in together and getting a dog. Summit had multiple dates with JulianneHerring, but denied that there was a physical connection.

Part two of the dating show's reunion will be released on The Viall Files on Friday, April 24.
