1983 Classic Ballad, Rock Legend's Biggest Solo Hit, Became a Timeless Road Trip Anthem

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 4:13am

Even after establishing himself as rock's "Golden God" fronting one of the greatest bands in rock history, Robert Plant knew a successful solo career wasn't a sure thing. His first post-Led Zeppelin album, 1982's Pictures at Eleven, was successful enough, peaking at #5 on the Billboard 200, but it didn't produce any top 40 hits. It wasn't until his second solo effort, 1983's The Principle of Moments, that Plant finally had his first major hit on his own: "Big Log."

"I was desperately trying in '81, '82, '83 to write songs and move away from a previous musical place, and to get the story right," Plant explained in a 2019 episode of his podcast Digging Deep.

"It was very interesting because it was the first time ever I'd been away from the kind of crash of Zeppelin," he continued, "and I really didn't realize just how much patience and concentration you really need in a studio, to get people to perform, give you something really, really important."

"Big Log," the first single from The Principle of Moments, hit #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on the U.K. chart. The dreamy, haunting track was exactly what fans were waiting to hear...even if, years, later, it seems no one can agree on the meaning of the title (which doesn't appear in the lyrics at all). Some have theorized that the "Big Log" refers to a truck driver's log, which would fit with the song's driving theme:

My love is in league
With the freeway
Its passion will rise
As the cities fly by
And the taillights dissolve
In the coming of night
And the questions in thousands
Take flight

The truck driver theory has never been confirmed, however.

"'Big Log' was born and it seemed like falling off a log, really," Plant quipped on Digging Deep. "It was just...very, very easy to write a road song."

Plant went on to explain that none of the locations he was actually imagining while he wrote "Big Log," like Aberystwyth, Wales, really worked as lyrics.

"I couldn't mention any names in 'Big Log,'" he said. "I couldn't say where I was going...but I could write about going, and most of my time has been about coming and going."

"Big Love" was one of just two songs on The Principle of Moments that didn't feature Phil Collins on drums. Looking for a softer sound, Plant decided to experiment with the Roland TR-808 drum machine, which took some time to figure out.

"I thought, 'This is so shite, this sound,'" Plant recalled. Eventually he learned how to produce the effect he wanted, which reflected the music he was listening to at the time.

Vinnie Zuffante / Getty Images

"I was into 4AD and the stuff that was going on with Jesus and Mary Chain and all that," Plant said. "There was just loads and loads of music that I was interested in — that kind of almost darkened shadow of the music of that time."

"Big Log" was a hit with critics as well as fans at the time of its release.

"One of Plant’s best outings on his second solo album is 'Big Log,' a ballad that features a vague Latin lilt and a discreet synthesizer gloss that complements the sexy elasticity of Robbie Blunt’s guitar," David Fricke wrote for Rolling Stone. "Against his best heavy-metal instincts, Plant resists easy histrionics and opts for a far more effective quiet tension in his bluesy wails and bassy coos."

The song was a favorite with fellow musicians, too, including Grammy-winning country singer Alison Krauss, whose cover of "Big Log" sparked a collaboration with Plant that resulted in two hit albums.

"I used to play [the cover version] over and over again, saying, 'Look, people know me out there,'" Plant told Variety. "The fact that a luminary like Alison would be singing a song about my torrid love affairs."

The 1981 Ozzy Osbourne Anthem That Became More Meaningful After Tragedy

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 4:12am

One of  Ozzy Osbourne’s most personal songs took on a new meaning months after it was released. The song, “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll,” appeared on the late heavy metal legend’s 1981 solo album Diary of a Madman.

Written by Osbourne, Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley, “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll” was never released as a single but found a fan following through album sales and heavy AOR radio airplay.

The epic song came amid the singer’s frustration with critics who doubted he could succeed on his own after being fired from Black Sabbath, and became an anthem for survival.

In a post on his official website, Daisley confirmed that Osbourne came up with the title to “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll," which was written about “being screwed by record companies and being lied to.”

Lasting seven minutes, “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll” features melodic guitar and lyrics that include, “Leave me alone, don't want your promises no more/'Cause rock 'n' roll is my religion and my law,” along with the declaration, “You can't kill rock 'n' roll, it's here to stay.”

The song finishes with a wailing guitar outro by Rhoads, the iconic young guitarist who died in a tragic plane crash while on tour with Osbourne less than six months after the song’s release.

The loss of Rhoads and makeup artist/seamstress Rachel Youngblood profoundly affected Osbourne and gave a deeper meaning to “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll” for both the singer and his fans.

In March 1982, days after Rhoads’ death at age 25, Osbourne kept his commitment to appear on The David Letterman Showand spoke of plans to resume his tour.

"I'm going to continue because Randy would've wanted me to continue, and so would Rachel,” he said. “And I'm not going to stop because you can't kill rock and roll."

Osbourne, who died on July 22, 2025, often spoke about his devotion to rock and roll.

In a 1982 interview with David Ganz, posted by Medium, he said, “Rock and roll is my religion, and that’s the God’s honest truth. And it’s my law. If I kill myself doing what I do for a living, if people want to f--- me up, say whatever they like, it’s their privilege — it’s your privilege. But I don’t think I do a bad job.”

Decades after “You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll” made its debut on Diary of a Madman, the song continues to resonate with fans, even more so in the year since Osbourne’s death.

Fans continue to share memories about the song on YouTube and in Reddit fan forums, with some describing it as Osbourne’s most “beautiful” song.

“Ozzy Osborne is Rock n Roll,” one fan wrote on YouTube.

“Ozzy Lives ⚱️ Forever and You Can't Kill Rock N Roll,” added another.

“Ozzy this is your Anthem,” a third fan wrote. “They can't kill rock and roll. This song says it all. The song is freaking phenomenal.”

Why Napa Valley is the Surprisingly Perfect Solo Escape This Season

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 4:10am

When people think of a trip to Napa Valley, they think of a romantic couples sharing a bottle of wine, a girl’s trip celebrating friendship, or a bachelorette party weekend hopping between vineyards.

It’s not often associated with solo travelers–but I’m here to tell you that it should be. I recently went on a trip to Napa as a solo traveler, and it checked just about every box that I look for in a solo destination. With the gorgeous weather, idyllic hotels and inns, countless wineries to explore, and lots of adorable boutiques to shop in, it’s giving Under The Tuscan Sun energy without having to leave the country.

With harvest season soon coming up, it’s a wonderful time to visit Napa Valley. Between August and October, there tends to be a lot more going on in the valley, giving you even more activities to attend as a solo traveler. If you’re curious about why it’s such a great place to visit alone, keep reading.

Find A Hotel That Becomes A Part Of The Experience

Melissa Cabey

When I go on a trip by myself, the most important thing to me is finding the perfect place to stay. For my recent trip, I stayed at the Rancho Caymus Inn. It had a lovely pool in the center of the inn, perfect for laying out and relaxing. There were also a ton of fire pits and comfortable places to sit and relax in the evenings. Each night, there were complimentary wine tastings, which allowed me to mingle with other guests at the inn. The room itself felt like it was straight out of a storybook. It had an old charm to it with modern touches, and I was able to fully relax and give myself some much needed relaxation.

Hotels and inns like the Rancho Caymus aren’t hard to come by in Napa. There are nearly 50 hotels and boutique inns in the area, and from what I’ve seen, they air on the nicer, more luxurious side. The town itself also feels incredibly safe, so as a solo traveler, you won’t have any extra anxiety weighing on you about your own safety.

If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of downtown Napa, close to walkable shops and restaurants, Archer Hotel Napa might be a great option for you. Alternatively, if you want to really treat yourself to a secluded getaway, Harvest Inn is a full-service resort that offers sweeping views of vineyards to enjoy while you relax at the pool, have a drink, or even take a stroll along their designated walking path.

Wine Tasting Is Surprisingly Social, Even When On Your Own

For many people, one of the scariest things to do when solo traveling is to go out to eat alone. Sometimes, it can feel a bit awkward, just sitting there at your own table with nothing to do but eat. Some may think that wine tastings would be similar–but from my experience, it’s anything but. Wine tastings are more of a guided activity, usually with someone leading everyone along the journey. You get to learn about each wine, ask questions, and discuss your reactions to them. It’s a nice way to mix the act of going and getting a drink with an actual activity–and Napa Valley is quite the pro at it.

I found it to be incredibly enjoyable to sip my wine, let myself fully immerse in the experience, and then speak to others when I felt like it. I wasn’t forced to be social if I didn’t want to be, but if I did, the opportunity was right there. It was equally relaxing, joyful, and invigorating.

The first winery that I recommend taking a visit to is Beaulieu Vineyard. There's a large, sun-drenched indoor bar area where you can sit and have wine by the glass, or you can enjoy tastings from $50. For a more immersive experience, Castello di Amorosa is a vineyard that features a Tuscan-style castle, where you can go on tours throughout the grounds while tasting the wine.

Savoring Napa's Legendary Culinary Scene at Your Own Pace View this post on Instagram

One thing that I learned about the people of Napa is that they are incredibly passionate. Whether it be about wine, coffee, or food–they put their heart and soul into whatever they're making. To start your day off on the right foot, you should head to Ohm Coffee Roasters in downtown Napa. It's owned by a sommelier named Derek Bromley, who transitioned from his love of wine to a love for specialty coffee. You can get a genuinely delicious cup of coffee here, and the welcoming staff is the cherry on top.

After a morning of exploring the shops in downtown Napa, you should visit Grace's Table for brunch. Here, you can get some of the most aesthetically pleasing brunch meals that will keep you nice and full for an afternoon of wine tastings. Many of the dishes on this menu are inspired by various European and South American cuisines, ultimately leaving you with a selection of comfort foods that are to die for. Try the shrimp and grits, you won't regret it.

For a dinner that you won't be able to stop thinking about, head to Mustards Grill. The environment is lively, with tables offered inside and outside. Not only is the menu absolutely delicious (the pork chop is particularly top-tier), but there is also a wine menu that will blow your mind. It even says on top, "way too many wines". This gives you a chance to enjoy some Napa wineries offerings without having to physically go there, and there are affordable half-bottle options–perfect for your solo dinner night.

Reclaim Your Peace with Napa’s Renowned Wellness and Spa Scene View this post on Instagram

If you're going on a solo trip to Napa, a huge part of that trip should be dedicated to rejuvenating your mind and body. Napa has some of the best wellness and spa offerings in the country–and you simply have to take advantage of it.

To start your trip off with the quintessential spa experience, I'd recommend visiting Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary. Here, you can book an all-day retreat. It starts with an enzyme bath, a walking meditation, and a seated guided meditation. Then, you'll experience a massage or facial, a catered lunch, and a ceremonial circle in the forest. You will move as a group with whoever else booked the retreat for the day. It's a perfect experience for a solo traveler, with an equal balance of focusing on yourself and connecting to those around you.

For a day of active recovery, go to Dr. Wilkinson's Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs. Here, you can book yourself a "Yoga Wellness For One" session, where you'll be guided through a restorative yoga practice 1 on 1 with an instructor. After, visit the mud and mineral baths to round out the experience.

Overall, I left my trip feeling like I was able to rest my mind and body, have a little bit of fun, and met some interesting people along the way. There wasn’t a single moment where I wished that I was someplace else. If this sounds like your kind of getaway, don't wait until you have someone to go with. Napa Valley is more than worth experiencing on your own.

The 131-Year-Old Iconic Time-Travel Novel You Didn't Realize Originally Had a Horror Plot

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 4:00am

While Mary Shelley wrote the first true science fiction novel, H.G. Wells wrote the first true time travel novel. The Time Machine would become the basis for all future time travel stories, but it nearly wasn’t so.

Before being published as a complete book in May 1845, The Time Machine was published as serials in The New Review between January and May of the same year. That publication folded, and so the science fiction author got to work on putting everything together in a complete book. However, everything about it changed.

There was a much darker history to the story. When it was serialized, it told the story of a man who escaped a mob of angry people with a time machine. It certainly felt a little more Frankenstein when you consider the angry people had pitchforks, and they were trying to chase the inventor, Nebogipfel, off. The difference was that rather than create a monster (and realize that he’d done wrong with his creation), Nebogipfel was a serial killer escaping the murders he had committed.

(Original Caption) Portrait of British Author, H.G. Wells

Interestingly, this is a storyline used in Time After Time, the abruptly canceled ABC series that starred Freddie Stroma as H.G. Wells and Jack Bowman as Dr. John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper. In this series, Wells had a time machine in his home, which Stevenson stole to be able to escape capture for his crimes, along with other dastardly reasons.

In real life, Wells realized that his science fiction novel didn’t need the dark horror plot. As he rewrote the serials, he took out the murder mystery and serial killer arc, knowing that time travel was already a big enough draw. After all, it would become the first true time travel novel that would shape this part of the genre for years to come.

He decided to pivot to class warfare and evolutionary theory, with a focus on how capitalism and the social divides in the Victorian era would eventually lead to the destruction of society, and we get to see that in the post-apocalyptic world traveled to in the novel.

While The Time Machine would become a popular book and start the time-travel genre, it wouldn’t become Wells’s most popular book. That would be War of the Worlds, although the iconic radio production of it arguably led to that happening.

1984 Cult Classic Gave Us the ‘Nerd Laugh’—and the Story Behind It Is Hilarious

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 4:00am

More than four decades after its premiere, this legendary comedy has left an indelible mark on pop culture.

Revenge of the Nerds has earned its classic status by creating the “nerd laugh,” still seen in TV and film today. The honk-sounding laughter was first used by late actor RobertCarradine, who died in February 2026 at 71. He revealed that his co-star JamesCromwell was the one who originated the idea.

The film just celebrated its 42nd anniversary, having originally premiered on July 20, 1984. Revenge of the Nerds was directed by JeffKanew and starred Carradine, Cromwell, DonaldGibb, CurtisArmstrong, and Julia Montgomery.

“In the script it referenced that the character had kind of a honking laugh and I didn’t really pay attention to that. I was too busy trying to be in character, right? Well, sure as s--t, it’s the day before we’re going to start and I don’t have the laugh,” he shared in a 2013 interview on The Howard Stern Show.

Kanew asked Carradine what he thought the laugh should sound like. The actor admitted he was stumped.

“He said, ‘Well, here, check this out.’ And he put in Jamie Cromwell’s VHS tape of the audition, and he’s doing the laugh,” he explained.

Carradine asked Cromwell, who played his father in Revenge of the Nerds, to teach him how to do the ridiculous laugh.

“He showed me ‘cause we thought it should be like father, like son. So, that’s how the laugh was born.”

Cromwell shared his version of the story at the A.V. Club’s 2012 oral history of the film.

“I came up with the nerd laugh, which I didn’t know—I did it spontaneously. We had a lot of fun in the car. I’m very fond of Bobby Carradine, my son in the picture. And so, I taught them how to do the laugh,” he said.

“And when we had a screening of the movie and an audience—we were sitting with a big audience—I came onstage and I did the laugh, and I hear the laugh—just the nerd laugh but perfectly—and I look and it’s my wife,” he shared. “It was my wife’s laugh and I copied it spontaneously. I don’t think she ever— I never said it to her.”

Macy's Has 'Gauzy' and 'Flowy' 100% Cotton Pants for Just $16 During Its Black Friday in July Sale

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 3:15am

Flowy pants in materials like cotton and linen are having a major moment right now. Chic and effortlessly stylish, they feel more like pajamas than actual pants, but also make you look like you just stepped off the White Lotus set. Slip them on with a pair of sandals, add a comfy tee, and you have an ultra-comfortable warm weather outfit ready to go in seconds.

Thanks to Macy's Black Friday in July event, which runs through July 26, you can score this trendy style for up to 70% off in seven colors. Normally $55, the Style & Co Cotton Gauze Pull-On Pants now start at just $16, with select colors priced slightly higher at $27. Available in navy, black, white, beige, turquoise, a blue floral print, and a pink floral print, you're going to want to snag this warm weather staple in every color.

From the adjustable drawstring waistband to the deep pockets, this easy-to-wear style was designed with comfort in mind. The pants have a straight-leg silhouette that's relaxed, but also doesn't hug the leg too closely, giving them a flattering look without being baggy.

Made from 100% cotton, the gauze fabric is thin enough to allow for plenty of air flow but thick enough that the pants aren't see-through. Shoppers who purchased lighter colors said they especially appreciated how their underwear didn't show through the fabric.

Several shoppers also mentioned that these pants have held up incredibly well in the washing machine without fading or pilling. As someone who buys a lot of 100% cotton clothing, I can attest to the fact that many pieces made with natural fibers are prone to shrinkage. However, if you follow the care instructions and lay them flat to dry, these cotton pants should maintain their shape.

Described as "gauzy" and "flowy," reviewers raved about the "lovely" look and feel of these pants. One shopper said the "lightweight" design makes them a "go-to for spring and summer." Another reviewer shared that they were easy to pack for vacation and "comfortable" to wear on long travel days.

Steve Irwin's Inspirational Quote on Sharing the Planet With Wildlife Still Deeply Resonates Today

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 2:44am

Probably one of the most recognizable names in wildlife conservation is Steve Irwin’s. Even though it’s almost 20 years after his death, the Australian conservationist, zookeeper, TV personality and wildlife educator is still as active in the hearts of many who grew up knowing him as the “Crocodile Hunter.” Millennials, Gen X and Gen Z alike—American, Australian and more—all know Irwin as a leading figure in conservation.

As ZooLab UK reported, Irwin was a “pioneer in the field of animal conservation in Australia and across the world,” and that’s in part thanks to the many people he was able to reach with his message through his TV show, The Crocodile Hunter. Unfortunately, most of us remember when Irwin died in September 2006. While filming his show, he was in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and accidentally provoked a venomous bull stingray to attack. It stung him in the chest; he went into cardiac arrest and died from his wounds, per Britannica.

Despite that tragic end, Irwin is remembered for his love of animals and his desire to save them and their habitats. Our quote of the day highlights one of Irwin’s many sentiments surrounding wildlife and saving the planet for every living thing, which still rings true today.

According to Australia Zoo, Irwin was born in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia, on Feb. 22, 1962. His parents moved their family to Beerwah, Queensland, where they opened Beerwah Reptile Park in 1970. Because of his own parents’ love for animals and wildlife, Irwin grew up with that same admiration; he caught his first venomous snake at six years old, and by nine he “was helping catch small problem crocodiles,” per the zoo’s site. The park’s name changed to “Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park” in 1980, and Irwin renamed it to “Australia Zoo” in 1998, which is what it’s known as today.

Per Britannica, audiences of his TV series were so taken with Irwin thanks to his “frenetic energy and an engaging boyish enthusiasm” as he got people “recklessly close” through his “encounters with deadly and usually endangered animals” (specifically crocodiles, of course). It ran from 1996 to 2004, with a few specials released between 2005 and 2007, including “Ocean’s Deadliest,” which was what Irwin was filming when he died, along with two tributes in 2007 and a final special called “Secrets of the Crocodile,” which was filmed in 2005 and released on the first anniversary of his death.

Irwin took over management of the park in 1991 and met Terri Irwin (formerly Raines) two days later, when she was a visiting tourist, per Australia Zoo’s website. They married the next year in Oregon and worked together so closely in conservation efforts. They both had similar things to say about sharing the planet with wildlife and saving Earth not just for us, but them too.

Quote of the Day by Steve Irwin

CanvaPro/Parade

“We don't own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife.”

This quote appears near the end of the 2002 book, The Crocodile Hunter: The Incredible Life and Adventures of Steve and Terri Irwin, written by Steve Irwin and his wife, Terri Irwin. It’s the only book Steve wrote, and it was a staple in classrooms and more (I remember seeing it all of the time in my grammar school library).

It was part autobiographical and part informative. As the book’s description reads, “Steve provides intimate insights into their private life away from the cameras. Learn how they first met, how they successfully translated a shared love of animals into a worldwide message of conservation, and how they built one of the largest private animal refuges in Australia.”

In the book, Terri Irwin says something very similar to Steve’s quote: “If we save our wild places, we will ultimately save ourselves.” This is after she writes about how, even though wildlife rehabilitation efforts often have a “happy ending," there are (many) other cases where that’s not the case. She says this is because the problems that displaced these animals in the first place—poachers, dogs, busy roads, etc.—might still be there. So they created a habitat in the Outback that’s safe to keep animals who need a safe haven to live in.

After, Steve Irwin takes over the perspective of the chapter. He recognizes that their “own Australian backyard” needs to be cleaned up, and some “of the worst mammalian extinction rates in the world” are happening in his country. Humans are destroying habitats like rainforests, mangroves, wetlands and deserts “all in the name of progress.”

He urges all of us to “take time to consider every single way we are contributing to the detriment of the environment.” He then shares a plea to “every single businessperson who reads this book”:

“... Focus on rectifying any damage your business processes are doing to the environment. The time has come when all of us must be held accountable. We don't own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife.”

Deeper Meaning of Steve Irwin’s Quote—‘We Don’t Own the Planet’

This quote feels like it sums up most of Steve Irwin’s work. This notion that humans don’t own the planet has been around for eons, with Native Americans and other indigenous people all over the world taking this belief seriously; it impacted how they hunted, planted and more. Irwin understood this deeply, and through his work with wildlife conservation, he saw how humans’ actions negatively impacted animals and the environment firsthand. Living in the modern, Western world, and after decades of technological advancements, Irwin’s words resonate even more today than they did then.

Steve and Terri’s insights share the undeniable truth that no one owns the planet. And so, instead of continuing actions that are destroying the Earth, Steve urges us all to treat it as something we’re borrowing. Almost like the Girl Scout Law: to leave places better than how you found them. And while that’s what I have experience with, other scout and youth programs have similar sentiments.

And in remembering to treat the Earth as if we’re a guest, we also need to remember that we’re sharing it with wildlife and act accordingly. This means treating the planet with kindness so that all living things can enjoy Mother Nature’s gifts. It also means cohabitating with wildlife as if they have a right to live on this land as well. That includes not destroying habitats and helping animals when in need (safely, which can look like calling conservationists or animal experts if one is in need).

Interestingly enough, Robert Irwin recently spoke with Parade about his photography and more. He has continued on his father’s legacy, alongside Terri and his sister Bindi Irwin, and in the interview, Robert spoke about AI regarding wildlife photography and its impacts on wildlife in general.

“As with any advancement in technology, I think we sometimes forget about the environmental destruction that it can cause,” he said.

He went on to speak more about how AI photos of animals can “[dilute] what is impressive” with wildlife photography. But the spirit of Steve Irwin’s push for wildlife conservation can absolutely be felt in Robert’s words as well.

More Quotes from Steve Irwin
  • “If something ever happens to me, people are gonna be like 'we knew a croc would get him!'”
  • “We humans still have a long way to go with learning to live harmoniously with our environment and its wildlife.”
  • “If you can't excite people about wildlife, how can you convince them to love, cherish, and protect our wildlife and the environment they live in?”
  • “Crocodiles are easy. They try to kill and eat you. People are harder. Sometimes they pretend to be your friend first.”
  • “I have no fear of losing my life - if I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it.”
  • “I have a message for my fans. Whatever you want to do in this world, it is achievable. The most important thing that I've found, that perhaps you could use, is be passionate and enthusiastic in the direction that you choose in life, and you'll be a winner.”

Even over two years after his death, Toby Keith's music continues to soar to new heights.

The late country icon has reached a new chart record with his 2002 track "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," which recently resurfaced on the Billboard charts and became Toby’s highest-ever charting song on the Hot 100.

24 years after the song's initial release, the patriotic song climbed to No. 11 on the Hot 100 earlier this month, marking the highest placement any of Keith's songs has ever reached on that chart.

"Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," which sparked controversy when it first came out, rose to No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart following its release in 2002, becoming one of the 20 tracks Keith's catalog to do so.

The song gained momentum again this summer in the wake of the Fourth of July holiday, and it also helped resurface Keith's album 35 Biggest Hits back into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 earlier this month. According toBillboard, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" accounted for "about one-third of the album's streams for the week."

This round bird bath stands 28 inches tall with a 20-inch-diameter basin — large enough for several birds to gather at once. Unlike a traditional still-water basin, it has a built-in solar fountain that activates in sunlight, keeping the water gently moving throughout the day. The rim also features small oval cut-outs that give smaller birds a place to perch as they lean in for a drink.

Walmart buyers have praised its look and performance, with one describing it as “pretty cute” and “sharp,” while another shared, “My wife loved it and we are sending pictures and videos to friends.”

The basin and pedestal are made from weather-resistant resin, so it can stay outside year-round without cracking or fading. For added stability, the hollow pedestal base can be filled with sand or rocks. Ground stakes are also included to keep it more secure. Assembly is simple and straightforward. Since the package includes just the bird bath and stakes, setup takes only a few minutes.

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 1:49am

Country superstar Morgan Wallen continues to make Billboard chart history as three of his albums remain among the most popular projects in the United States.

For the Billboard 200 chart week dated July 25, 2026, Wallen has three albums in the Top 20. I'm The Problem ranks No. 3, One Thing At A Time climbs to No. 10, and Dangerous: The Double Album lands at No. 20.

The latest chart also gives Wallen a combined 525 weeks on the Billboard 200 across the three albums. I'm The Problem has now spent 61 weeks on the chart, while One Thing At A Time reaches 176 weeks and Dangerous: The Double Album moves to 288 weeks.

According to Country Music in an Instagram post, Wallen has also made a rare chart achievement involving Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing At A Time. The post states that Dangerous: The Double Album has spent over 165 weeks and One Thing At A Time has spent over 150 weeks inside the Billboard 200 Top 10, making Wallen "the only solo artist ever to have two albums reach that milestone.”

The current Billboard 200 chart shows that the two albums remain major forces years after their original releases. One Thing At A Time has moved up from No. 11 to No. 10 this week, while Dangerous: The Double Album sits at No. 20.

Wallen's newest album, I'm The Problem, is also holding strong. It ranks No. 3 this week, behind Future's new album The Real Me at No. 1 and Olivia Rodrigo's you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love at No. 2.

Morgan Wallen’s Chart Success Continues

The latest Billboard 200 results show just how long Wallen's albums have remained relevant.

Dangerous: The Double Album has now reached 288 total weeks on the Billboard 200. The album peaked at No. 1 and remains on the chart more than five years after its release.

One Thing At A Time has also reached a major milestone, with 176 total weeks on the Billboard 200. The album peaked at No. 1 and is back inside the Top 10 this week at No. 10.

Meanwhile, I'm The Problem has spent 61 weeks on the Billboard 200. The album reached No. 1 at its peak and remains in the Top 3 during the July 25 chart week.

Together, the three albums show Wallen's unusual staying power on the all-genre albums chart. While many new releases enter the Billboard 200 and quickly fall down the rankings, Wallen has continued to place multiple albums on the chart at the same time.

His success is not limited to the Billboard 200. Wallen has also built a strong record on the Top Country Albums chart, where his albums and songs have continued to rank among the genre's biggest releases.

His career has also been marked by major commercial milestones. According to the supplied information, Wallen has 21 No. 1 singles at country radio and 19 Billboard Music Awards to date. He has also spent more than 225 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, described in the supplied artist information as the most in country music history.

The current Billboard 200 results come during another major year for Wallen, who is performing across the country as part of his Still The Problem Tour.

Morgan Wallen Prepares New Song Amid Billboard Chart Run

Wallen's continued chart success comes as he remains active on the road and prepares to release more music.

Following a sold-out live debut at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Wallen announced his new song, "Been By Now," which is scheduled for release on Friday.

The song was written by Wallen with Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Rocky Block and Taylor Phillips. Joey Moi produced the track.

The new release arrives while Wallen's Still The Problem Tour continues its run of major stadium shows. The 23-stadium tour has included performances at some of the biggest venues in the United States, including U.S. Bank Stadium, Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Michigan Stadium and Clemson's Memorial Stadium.

The tour's remaining dates include two shows at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Friday and Saturday. Wallen will then perform at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on July 31 and August 1.

The shows feature special guests and supporting performers, including Thomas Rhett, HARDY, Ella Langley, Hudson Westbrook and Blake Whiten, among others.

Wallen's chart activity has also continued beyond his albums. His song "Don't We" recently reached a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 16, while his collaboration with Ella Langley, "I Can't Love You Anymore," climbed to No. 7.

"I Can't Love You Anymore" has also performed strongly on country radio, reaching No. 5 on the Country Airplay chart. "Don't We" climbed to No. 2 on that ranking.

The two songs are part of a wider period of chart success for Wallen. Other songs from his catalog have also appeared on Billboard's Streaming Songs and Country Streaming Songs charts, showing the continued demand for his music across multiple platforms.

Before the Eagles, Don Henley Was Living With Another Music Legend

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 1:30am

Long before he became one of the founding members of the Eagles, Don Henley was getting an unexpected helping hand from another future music icon.

In 1970, the Texas native packed up and moved to Los Angeles with his band, Shiloh, hoping to break into the music business. The group had landed a recording contract, but finding a foothold in Southern California wasn't easy for a young musician just starting out.

Fortunately, Henley, 78, had a connection.

Fellow Texan Kenny Rogers welcomed Henley and his bandmates into his home while they recorded Shiloh's self-titled debut album. Rogers also produced the project, giving the aspiring musicians an opportunity that would prove pivotal early in Henley's career.

Although the album failed to become a commercial success, Henley's move to Los Angeles set off a chain of events that would change rock music forever.

Not long after Shiloh disbanded, Henley met guitarist Glenn Frey. The pair soon joined Linda Ronstadt's backing band, where they quickly discovered a musical chemistry that extended far beyond the stage.

That partnership led to the formation of the Eagles in 1971.

The band would go on to become one of the best-selling acts in music history, selling more than 120 million albums worldwide and producing enduring classics including "Hotel California," "Take It Easy," "Desperado" and "Life in the Fast Lane."

Henley emerged as one of the group's primary songwriters, sharing lead vocal duties with Frey on many of the Eagles' biggest hits. His distinctive voice and introspective lyrics helped define the band's signature California rock sound throughout the 1970s and beyond.

Looking back, it's remarkable to think one of rock's most influential careers began while living under the roof of another future legend.

Without that move to Los Angeles and Rogers opening his home to a fellow Texan, Henley's path might have looked very different.

One Year Ago Today, We Lost the 'Prince of Darkness' Ozzy Osbourne

Wed, 07/22/2026 - 1:30am

It's hard to believe that a year has passed since our world got a little less wild. On July 22nd, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne passed away shortly after the conclusion of the instantly legendary Back to the Beginning concert, which served as a now bittersweet sendoff to one of the greatest musicians of all time, as well as one of the greatest bands of all time with Black Sabbath.

It's hard to think of any musician who had the chance to close their career out in such a fitting way. He was surrounded by the royalty of the genre he helped create and gave an absolutely killer performance to remind everyone who the godfather of metal really was. The following funeral procession was a somber yet beautiful moment that showed just how much he'd be missed. A year later, and the hole he left remains just as wide as it was the day he passed on.

In honor of the anniversary of his death, I want to talk about some underappreciated songs from throughout his career that have stood out as reasons why he is one of my favorite musicians of all time.

Under The Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes

The closer from my favorite Sabbath record sees Ozzy with some scathing lyrics attacking organized religions and the hypocrisy they can showcase. Aside from the commentary, the instrumentation is incredible. It's one of the heavier '70s tracks that Sabbath put out, featuring these sludgy guitars over a 12/8 time signature that gives it this chugging feeling, kind of like a steam train. Guitarist Tony Iommi is also on fire throughout the whole song, with these incredible riffs and fills that give a wonderful gothic tinge to the whole song.

The band sounds absolutely incredible together, creating a dark, angry, and powerful song that remains one of my absolute favorite Black Sabbath tracks.

Symptom of the Universe

"Sabotage" doesn't get nearly enough attention in my eyes as one of Sabbath's greatest albums. It's a lot more raucous and gritty than their previous albums up to this point, and it features some of the heaviest music of the '70s, including "Symptom of the Universe," which I would argue invented thrash metal.

Seriously, this song is crazy ahead of its time. You could slide it into a Metallica or Megadeth record and it would honestly fit perfectly. The fact that this song came out in 1975 absolutely baffles me. Ozzy sounds absolutely great on it too, with this screaming tone that the thrash metal bands of the '80s and '90s surely took huge inspiration from. His delivery is so similar to that of early James Hetfield.

Give it a listen. It's baffling that this came out when it did.

I Don't Know

A song that massively overshadowed by the one immediately following it, (Crazy Train) "I Don't Know" is Ozzy's introduction to being a solo artist. Being the first song on "Blizzard of Ozz," it carries a lot of weight. It's the song that showcases Ozzy's capability as a solo artist and shows the star he was about to become.

You can't forget Randy Rhoads on guitar, one of the greatest to ever do it and a player we all wish was still here with us today. He's absolutely remarkable both on this song as well as throughout the rest of the record. Him and Ozzy made for such a special duo, and the song makes for the perfect introduction to Ozzy as a solo artist.

See You on the Other Side

This is the song I found myself listening to the most following Ozzy's passing. While most people latched onto "Mama, I'm Coming Home" as the song of his that felt most emblematic of his passing, this one carried more weight to me. For starters, the instrumental is incredibly unique. The guitars have an amazing tone to them that captures this melancholia that surrounds the song's themes of grief, acceptance, and loss.

Ozzy gives a great vocal performance throughout, with the introspective tone of the song meshing extremely well with his loud and proud delivery. It's one of my favorite songs of Ozzy's solo career, and it's a song I constantly come back to to remember him by.

We'll all see him on the other side someday.

The world will never forget Ozzy Osbourne. A year ago today was a day for mourning, so let's make July 22nd this year a day for celebration.

Hoffer starred on the ABC soap opera from May 5, 2022, until his exit on December 13, 2024, appearing in over 220 episodes, when his character was tragically killed off after suffering a post-surgery heart attack, when Cyrus (Jeff Kober) gave him an overdose of digitalis.

The move to write Hofer out was described to Soap Opera Digest at the time to be “storyline dictated,” which proved to be the case as his death served as a catalyst for the direction of his on-screen girlfriend Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) storyline trajectory, as the ramifications and fallout shifted her perspective ultimately leading to her newfound career as an agent for the World Security Bureau (WSB).

Since leaving General Hospital, Hofer appeared on the first season of 9-1-1: Nashville.

Evan’s professional acting career began in 2010 with an appearance on the TV movie Everyday Kid in 2010, before having a six-episode stint on the Disney XD series Kickin’ It between 2011 and 2013.

Evan would then appear in various series and movies in guest roles before appearing in over 30 episodes of Dwight in Shining Armor prior to booking General Hospital.

Little is known about what Hofer could be teasing, but the actor's IMDb profile teases two upcoming projects: We’re Bad at This and Living the Dream.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
