“Hair thinning, shedding and breakage may look similar, but they often stem from very different causes,” explains Tesha Avery, certified trichologist at the North Carolina Hair Loss Center. “Thinning is frequently linked to genetics, hormonal changes or underlying health conditions, while shedding is commonly triggered by stress, illness, postpartum shifts or nutrient deficiencies.” Breakage, on the other hand, typically occurs along the hair shaft and is often the result of mechanical damage, heat styling, chemical processing or dryness, she adds.

When evaluating hair growth oils, it’s important to focus on ingredients backed by both clinical research and emerging science.

“The ingredient with the strongest clinical evidence is minoxidil, which is FDA-approved for hair regrowth,” explains Avery. “Caffeine has emerging research suggesting it may help stimulate hair follicles, while certain peptides and rosemary extract show promising support for circulation and overall follicle health.”

She adds that some newer formulations are incorporating plant-based stem cell extracts designed to support the scalp environment—though research in this area is still evolving. Ultimately, results depend on the underlying cause of hair loss and consistent, long-term use.

What Makes a Hair-Growth Oil Effective?

As much as we’d love instant results from a single drop applied to the scalp, hair oils take time to work their magic—and consistency is key, say experts.

“A hair-growth oil works best when it supports the health of the scalp—the environment where hair actually grows,” explains Avery. While oils don’t directly make hair grow faster, they can help improve circulation, reduce dryness, protect the scalp barrier and minimize breakage. When used regularly as part of a scalp-care routine, nourishing oils help create the conditions for stronger, more resilient strands over time, she adds.

How To Use Hair-Growth Oils for the Best Results

So you’ve found the right hair growth oil—now it’s all about how you use it. According to Kerry E. Yates, trichologist and founder of Colour Collective, application timing is key: serums and oils should be the final step in your routine to allow them to fully absorb and do their job.

“If applying in the morning, use them before setting the hair,” she says. “If applied at night, they should be topically applied before bed.” What you shouldn’t do is rinse them out immediately. “Do NOT apply the serum and then wash your hair,” she adds. “I liken it to using a moisturizer on your face and then cleansing your skin right afterward.”

Technique matters just as much as timing. Celebrity stylist Marc Ballance recommends applying oils directly to the scalp in sections, focusing on the roots. “Then massage with your hands to make sure the product actually contacts the scalp—not just the hair,” he explains. “These products are for the root and scalp, so really work them in.”

As for when and how often to use them, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Ballance prefers applying oils to a slightly damp scalp but notes that results ultimately depend on the formula. Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, the 1956 classic usually airs at least once before Easter Sunday—and this year is no different. The movie aired on Palm Sunday and will air again on Holy Saturday (April 4) on ABC.

The film follows the life of Moses, portrayed by legendary actor Charlton Heston, from his rescue as an infant from the Nile to his rise as the leader who would free the enslaved Hebrew people. Along the way, it depicts his tense rivalry with Rameses II, played by Yul Brynner, the devastating plagues of Egypt, and the Exodus, culminating in a powerful moment on Mount Sinai where he receives the Ten Commandments.

Many social media users are already getting excited to watch the film, which airs annually around this time of year. The film is nearly four hours long, not taking commercials into account.

To conclude the clip, Gilbert boldly declared, "Even if he's exonerated, he will always be that guy. The last person in the world who would hurt a child. And believe me, if I thought for a second that Tim Busfield hurt a child, he'd have a lot more to worry about than prison.”

After turning himself in to police on Jan. 13, Busfield pleaded not guilty to four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child, all third-degree felonies, on Feb. 10. The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) issued an arrest warrant fr him in January, alleging that he sexually abused twin actors, 11, after they met on the set of The Cleaning Lady. One of the alleged victims was just 7 when the incidents began.

“They’re all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys, and I’m gonna fight it,” Busfield said in a video released by TMZ. “I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies.”

Gilbert released a statement through her publicist after her husband's arrest, explaining that she was “honoring the request of Tim’s lawyers not to speak publicly while the legal process unfolds.” It added, "Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time,” per ABC News.

Before they were adapted into animated children's films, they were first classic stories created by a single author. Celebrations are in honor of Hans Christian Andersen, who was born on April 2, 1805, and is responsible for some of the most beloved literary fairytales fans have enjoyed for decades.

Born in Odense, Denmark, Andersen was a prolific writer who wrote plays, novels, and poems, but was largely known for his fairy tales. One of his earliest found works was "The Tallow Candle," which was discovered in a Danish archive and said to have been written in the 1820s.

When it came to his literary fairytales, one of his first publications was a nine-story collection that was published in three installments. In May 1835, four stories were released and would be familiar to many. "The Tinderbox," "Little Clause and Big Claus," "The Princess and the Pea," and "Little Ida's Flowers" were the first volume installment. "The Princess and the Pea" has become a longtime favorite and was adapted into a stage musical in 1959 with Carol Burnett as the heroine. It became a TV film in 1961 with Samantha Eggar and was revived as a musical withSarah Jessica Parker. Liza Minnellialso played a TV role.

The second installment was made up of the tales "The Naughty Boy", "The Traveling Companion", and "Thumbelina." The last story was also heavily adapted starting in 1924, and was adapted by Hallmark, Golden Films, and Warner Bros as the 1994 animated movie under the same name.

What gained Andersen international fame was his third booklet, which published the infamous "The Little Mermaid" and "The Emperor's New Clothes." "The Little Mermaid" was originally published in 1837 and became one of Andersen's most popular works, which was adapted. In 1985, NBC aired an anthology series hosted by Shirley Temple that brought to life the fairytale. It was adapted into a 1976 Russian film and a theatre production in 1987.

The movie adaptation that many grew up with was none other than Disney's The Little Mermaid in 1989. It was originally proposed as a package film featuring vignettes of Andersen tales and loosely based on the fairytale. The characters and fairytale inspired a generation and pop culture. It was later adapted into a live-action film in 2023.

His other adapted works include The Ugly Duckling from 1931 and the 1939 remake, The Red Shoes in 1948, and Frozen, which is loosely inspired by his work "The Snow Queen." Many countries around the world adapted his fairytales from Japan, Russia, and Britain.

Andersen's literary contributions to the world of fairytales is unforgettable. In early 1872, Andersen fell from his bed and never fully recovered from the injuries. He later started to show signs of liver cancer and died on August. 4, 1975, at the age of 70.

Does Kitty End Up with Min-Ho in Season 3 of 'XO, Kitty'?

K-Dramas are especially expert at building romance between two leads—and with a buildup that's so intense, the impending kiss almost always goes completely viral.

So it's no surprise that Jenny Han—the writer and creator of the To All the Boys I've Loved Before book series and its spinoff XO, Kitty—is adept at the slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance. In XO, Kitty, the titular character Kitty (Anna Cathcart) has had a love-hate relationship with wealthy elite student Min-Ho Moon (Sang Heon Lee). At the end of Season 1, Min-Ho confessed, "I think I fell in love with you... A little bit. Or. A lot." Millions of fans around the world let out an audible sigh as that line alone became one of the most replayed moments in the show's history.

But even with that declaration, a surprised Kitty rebuffed him and the dance continued into Season 2. She explored her sexuality and the two dealt with their own personal crises—all while building a solid foundation of friendship and mutual admiration.

By the end of Season 2, it really looked like Kitty was about to express her feelings to Min-Ho, just like he had done at the end of Season 1. While Kitty is a supporting character in the To All the Boys I've Loved Before books, Min-Ho is not. XO, Kitty is a spinoff series created for the screen and was never published in book format, so the character of Min-Ho did not actually exist before the Netflix series.

Min-Ho and Kitty remain friends throughout Season 2 and never even share a kiss (aside from some awkward dreams). The two become closer through their friendship and ultimately share a more intimate relationship than either would have expected. Meanwhile, he's there for her when her letter to Yuri is revealed and when she feared she inherited her mother's worst traits after feeling rejected by her Korean family. It's these moments of friendship and support that end up feeling more romantic than blatant displays of love and affection.

“That is an opportunity for Kitty to see that Min Ho is a really true friend and is someone who wants to show up for Kitty regardless of his feelings, regardless of his pride that she turned him down,” Cathcart has said of the two characters in Season 2. And when Kitty discovers that Stella isn't who she says she is? “It really eats (at) her, which is a very relatable thing so many people have experienced, seeing (that person) with someone else really shows you your true feelings,” she added.

In Season 2, when Kitty's therapeutic letter of self-reflection to Yuri is revealed to the entire group, she escapes by sitting by herself in the hot tub. "Because this is the first time they're able to show up for each other while also acknowledging that there was something that happened between them."

GLP-1s are proving to be one of the most important medical advances of our time. According to data collected from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 32.4% of people in the U.S. with obesity have used a GLP-1 for weight loss, and nearly one in three U.S. adults with diabetes has used a GLP-1 to manage it. These rates have very likely gone up significantly since this data was collected in 2024.

Obesity is a significant risk factor for many life-threatening conditions, including cardiovascular disease, liver disease, kidney disease and several forms of cancer. This means that since GLP-1s can help reverse obesity, it literally saves lives. Many doctors and researchers believe that there are even more long-term benefits of GLP-1s than we currently know. Although it’s important to note that it’s also too early to know the potential negative consequences of taking a GLP-1 long-term as well.

As with any medication, GLP-1 medications must be taken correctly. Otherwise, it may not work properly or could even put one’s health in danger. There’s one particular GLP-1 mistake that obesity medicine doctors often see and warn strongly against. Keep reading to find out how it can backfire and what doctors say to do instead.

Why GLP-1 Users Often Experience Nausea

Even with all its benefits, GLP-1s do have their drawbacks, such as side effects. An estimated 20% of people (one in five) taking a GLP-1 experience nausea.

“Nausea is one of the most common side effects associated with GLP-1 medications and it tends to occur more frequently in what I call ‘super responders.’ These are often patients who start at a lower body mass index and experience rapid weight loss even at lower doses, which suggests heightened sensitivity to the medication,” explainsDr. Betsy Dovec, MD, FACS, a bariatric surgeon with BodyByBariatrics.

Dr. Dovec explains that nausea from a GLP-1 is most common after first starting the medication. Dr. Wiljon Beltre, MD, a bariatric surgeon at Beltre Bariatrics in Orlando, Florida, adds that overeating or eating high-fat meals can also make nausea more common when taking a GLP-1. “These meds slow down your stomach emptying, so if you overfill the pouch, that food just sits there, leading to nausea or reflux,” he says.

The GLP-1 Dosing Mistake That Can Completely Backfire

As a way to reduce nausea, some people skip doses. Both doctors warn against doing this.

“Skipping doses because of nausea is understandable, but it is not always the best solution. These medications have long half-lives, meaning they stay in your system for several days, and consistent dosing is what allows your body to adapt over time. If you skip doses too frequently, you disrupt that steady state, which can actually make side effects worse when you restart,” Dr. Dovec says.

In other words, skipping doses prevents your body from adapting to the medication. This, both doctors say, can prolong side effects and also prevent the medication from working properly.

“When you take the next dose, it hits your system like a ton of bricks because your body has lost its tolerance. You often end up feeling twice as sick as you would have if you’d just stayed the course,” Dr. Beltre says.

Skipping doses can also backfire, leading to weight gain instead of weight loss.

“Obesity is a chronic disease, and when you skip doses, you’re letting the disease take control again. You’ll see cravings return, diabetics can see blood sugar spike and your weight loss will likely plateau. It can be very demoralizing for a patient to see the scale stop moving just because they were trying to avoid a day of sickness,” Dr. Beltre tells Parade.

Doctor-Approved Ways To Deal With Nausea From GLP-1s

As tempting as it may be, skipping doses is not the best way to deal with nausea from GLP-1s. What should you do instead? To reduce the risk of experiencing nausea as a side effect, both doctors say it’s important to avoid eating big meals, especially ones that are high in fatty foods, like processed meats or fried food. They also emphasize the importance of staying hydrated.

Dr. Dovec says that timing the injection to the evening or before a day off (so symptoms can be managed more comfortably) can also be helpful. If you are experiencing nausea as a side effect, she recommends talking to your doctor about taking a medication that can help, such as ondansetron.

If you’ve tried these suggestions and are still experiencing nausea, it’s important to talk to your doctor and come up with a new plan. No one should go through life feeling nauseous all the time.

“If someone is experiencing persistent nausea on a GLP-1, the first step is not to push through it but to adjust the plan,” Dr. Dovec says, explaining that this can mean staying at the current dose longer (GLP-1 doses typically increase over time until the desired dose is reached), reducing the dose, optimizing hydration and nutrition or switching to a different GLP-1.

“Ultimately, GLP-1 medications are powerful tools, but they require a thoughtful, individualized approach. Patients should never feel like they have to ‘tough it out’ with side effects, and open communication with their prescribing provider is essential to finding the right balance between effectiveness and quality of life,” Dr. Dovec emphasizes.

Instead of skipping doses or troubleshooting on your own, talk to your doctor. Together, you can come up with a plan that will help you meet your health goals without nausea getting in the way.

‘Bachelorette’ Alum Dead at 35 as Former Partner Breaks Silence

A former contestant from the Australian version of The Bachelorette has died. Konrad Bien-Stephen, who appeared on the 2021 season of the show where Brooke Blurton was the lead, was 35.

According to a statement provided to news.com.au by Bien-Stephen's manager, Ella Dolan, "He will be deeply missed."

Dolan stated, "It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen. We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time. No further information will be shared at this stage."

Bien-Stephen's manager added, "We ask that media and the public respect the privacy of his family, refrain from speculation, and treat his memory with dignity, not as a headline."

In addition to being a fan favorite on Chatfield's season of The Bachelorette Australia, Bien-Stephen competed on The Challenge Australia a year after his initial reality TV stint.

Bien-Stephen finished in fourth place during Blurton's season. He later caused a bit of a stir when he and The Bachelor Australia alum Abbie Chatfield went public with their romantic relationship. They dated from November 2021 to August 2022, noted Variety Australia.

After news of Bien-Stephen's death emerged, Chatfield took to her Instagram Stories to share a statement.

She wrote, "I have seen the news of Konrad's death, and I have known the news for a few days now. Thank you to the people reaching out to me to let me know or to send their support."

Chatfield continued, "Obviously this is an incredibly difficult and strange time for me, and I am devastated for Konrad, his friends and his family. And I am heartbroken too. Though we haven't spoken for years, this is still incredibly difficult."

Bien-Stephen was "such a kind and sweet person to everyone" who was "A very caring man who deserved to live a very very long life. I am so heartbroken that he doesn't get to do that," Chatfield added.

Chatfield originally appeared on The Bachelor Australia during Matt Agnew's season, which aired in 2019. She was the runner-up and was painted as a villain.

She appeared on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2021 and won that season. She now has a podcast titled It's a Lot.

After her split from Bien-Stephen, Chatfield shared in an episode of her podcast, "Nothing bad happened. Nothing dramatic happened. We just weren't right for each other."

Variety Australia shared that most recently, Bien-Stephen had been dating singer-songwriter Thelma Plum.

Fans and colleagues flooded the last Instagram post that Bien-Stephen had shared before his death to leave their condolences.

"One of the kindest, sweetest and most authentic of all. I'll miss your hugs brother," read one comment.

"You warmed my soul every time I saw you and even thought about you," another comment read.

"Heartbroken, such a kind soul," someone else added.

Love Goodreads Challenges? 12 New Spring Challenges Have Been Released

There’s a lot of love that comes with reading, and one of those is winning challenges. Goodreads allows us to set our own reading challenge, with a number of books we aim to read in a year. While that’s great, it can leave us a little limited, as we all tend to stick to the genres that we love the most.

That’s why Goodreads started offering other types of challenges. The 2026 Spring Challenges are now live, with 12 offers for readers. Only a handful of those challenges are open now, with the others being opened later in the season or as you claim the first ones.

7 Goodreads Reading Challenges to Get Started With

There are currently seven out of the 12 challenges available, with one of them being “Editors’ Picks.” You can also opt for “Page-Turner,” “Speed Reader,” “Book Boss,” ‘Community Picks,” “Trending Books,” and “Marathon Reader.”

This is where it becomes a little more limited, as you need to ready one of those within the 90 days of spring set — and there are 89 days left at the time of writing this — for the read to count. Even if you’ve read one of the books in the past, you’ll need to read it again for it to count.

The other five challenges are mysteries right now. They’ll open up soon!

Which Books Can You Read This Spring?

With the “Page Turner” challenge, you need to read two books within the period of April 1 and July 1, 2026. These can be any books you want. The “Speed Reader” challenge is another one where you need to read a certain number of books rather than specific options. You’ll need to get through three books during spring.

Likewise, “Book Boss” is another quantity challenge. In this one, it’s getting through five books within the three-month period.

The “Trending Books” category changes with each challenge, and they are newer books with early buzz. Goodreads goes through all the early reviews to see what people think are the best, breaking it into different genres. Some of the top picks this season are Good People by Patmeena Sabit, Lady Tremaine by Rachel Hochhauser, The Astral Librady by Kate Quinn, and Mate by Ali Hazelwood.

“Community Picks” covers mystery and thrillers in spring 2026. The list includes novels released across the years, with Dead Debbie by Freida McFadden and My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney on the list.

“Marathon Reader” is aimed at those who want to read longer books. They are at least 500 pages in length, promoting devotion. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo are among the list.

Finally, it’s “Editor’s Picks,” which is a little more self-explanatory compared to other challenges. These are the ones that Goodread picks, with a selection from different genres. For this spring, you can choose from the likes of Marog’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe, Kin by Tayari Jones, The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf, and The Shots You Take by Rachel Reid.

Grammy-Winning Band’s Founding Guitarist Arrested on Second-Degree Murder Charges: Report

Brady Ebert, a founding member of the Baltimore hardcore band Turnstile, has reportedly been arrested on second-degree murder charges.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Ebert, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 31, in Montgomery County, Maryland. The publication also noted that in addition to the attempted murder claim, Ebert was also charged with one count of assault in relation to an incident on Sunday, March 29.

Ebert appeared in court on Wednesday, April 1, and is currently being held without bail. According to Stereogum, there are no reputable reports about Ebert's alleged target or about the incident that led to his arrest.

Ebert formed the group in 2010 with Brendan Yates, Franz Lyons, and Daniel Fang. However, he departed in 2022 under circumstances that haven't been discussed publicly. Pat McCrory and Meg Mills later joined the band.

Since leaving Turnstile, Ebert launched a new Baltimore hardcore band called the S.E.T. While they released their debut EP, Self Evident Truth, Ebert was soon kicked out of the band for trashing Turnstile on social media, Stereogum reported.

Turnstile's Success at the Grammys

Without Ebert, Turnstile found success at the Grammys, even before they won a single award. The band had the honor of being the first group to ever be nominated in the Rock, Metal, and Alternative categories in a single year. But 16 years after forming, they took home the award for Best Rock Album for their 2025 record, Never Enough.

In a unique move, the album was also accompanied by a movie, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“Yeah, it was something I’ve always wanted to do, as far as having a full album film, but it always felt very out of reach,” Yates told Rolling Stone last December. “Obviously, it’s an insane thing to do. But when writing the songs, once you start to kind of shape songs, you start to kind of get visuals — you start to feel colors and then, it kind of goes to settings. By the time we finished the album, there was kind of an outline for how a film could bring the songs a new life that goes beyond just the songs themselves.”

1986 Horror Novel Ranked No. 1 'Scariest Stephen King Book' by Goodreads

Stephen King has published more than 60 novels, but Goodreads readers who voted on the site's 'Scariest Stephen King Book' list landed on one title: It, the 1986 novel about seven children stalked by a shape-shifting entity in the fictional town of Derry, Maine. The book earned a score of more than 9,000 points on the community-ranked list, edging out runner-up The Shining by nearly 700.

The novel runs to more than 1,100 pages, spans two timelines, and builds its horror on the specific fears of childhood, and the particular way adults forget them. The entity at the center of it, most often wearing the face of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, became one of the most recognizable figures in modern horror before a single frame of film was ever shot.

It has been adapted for the screen twice, most recently as a two-part film series beginning in 2017. The 2017 film grossed over $700 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing horror film of all time. It was made on a budget of just $35 million. Its $123.1 million opening weekend shattered the previous record for a horror film by more than double, and stood as the largest September debut in box office history at the time.

It ranks atop a top 20 filled with monsters, spirits, psychological horror, and, frankly, insight into a lot of our own fears. The Shining (1977) holds the No. 2 spot; Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation, starring Jack Nicholson, grossed $47 million and has endured as one of the titles most consistently cited as among the scariest films ever made. Pet Sematary (1983) sits at No. 3, Salem's Lot at No. 4, and Misery(1987) at No. 5. The 1990 film version of Misery grossed $61.3 million worldwide, and Kathy Bates's Academy Award for Best Actress made it the only film based on a King novel to win an Oscar, as well as sending ankle-based shivers down the spines of everyone who saw it.

Of the 20 books on the list, 18 have been adapted for either film or television. The two exceptions are Revival(2014), King's unsettling riff on Frankensteinand Lovecraftian horror, which came close to a film adaptation when Mike Flanaganwrote a screenplay and received King's own approval, but Warner Bros. ultimately considered it unfilmable within the approved budget, and Duma Key (2008), which has had multiple adaptation rumors circulate without any reputable or recent project materializing.

The rest of the top 20 spans four decades of King's output and covers nearly every variety of horror he has worked in: supernatural possession (Christine, No. 9), psychological confinement (Gerald's Game, No. 10), small-town corruption (Needful Things, No. 11), creature horror (The Mist, No. 12), and alien invasion (Dreamcatcher, No. 19). Apt Pupil, the 1982 novella about a teenager who befriends a former Nazi war criminal, rounds out the list at No. 20, a reminder that King's most disturbing material doesn't always require a supernatural element.

The Stand (1978), King's post-apocalyptic epic and one of his most celebrated books, appears at No. 6 despite being a novel that many readers consider more science fiction than horror. That reflects something about how Goodreads readers evaluate fear. Specifically, it's not always the monster that makes something scary.

The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint is less of a restaurant and more of a living, breathing roadside experience. Vincentown Diner is exactly that kind of place. The diner leans into local ingredients and a farm-to-table approach, which gives even its heaviest meals a sense of intention. When Guy Fierivisited, he summed it up mid-bite, calling it “tender” and “juicy,” before admitting, “I can’t stop eating it.”

I’ve always thought diners like this double as town squares. Sit long enough and you start to understand the place through its regulars. If you have time, nearby trails and farmland offer a quiet counterbalance to the meal.

Junkyard Extreme Burgers and Brats — Lancaster, Wyoming

This unincorporated farming community is about as small as it gets. Roughly 30 people call it home, according to owner Craig, and the town itself is tied together by family. That restaurant is Junkyard Extreme Burgers and Brats, and it is exactly what it sounds like. Built from a race trailer with a shed attached, it doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is.

The burgers here are not subtle. One customer laughs that the signature burger is “bigger than her head,” while another calls it “an explosion of taste.” It’s messy, oversized, and completely unapologetic.

The drive-thru is less of a lane and more of a moment. Customers pull up in pickup trucks, sure, but also on horses, in tractors, and even in combines during harvest season.

Guy Fieri, who has seen just about everything on the road, summed it up best:
“We’ve seen some crazy stuff on Triple D, but this is up there.”

Duluth Grill — Duluth, Minnesota

Duluth Grill has been spotlighted for its commitment to scratch cooking and locally sourced ingredients, including produce grown in its own on-site garden. When Guy Fieri stopped in, he kept it simple, calling the pie “pretty dynamite,” a reaction that feels right for a place that quietly exceeds expectations.

Overlooking Lake Superior, Duluth carries a kind of rugged calm, and the food reflects that. Think grass-fed meatloaf, house-made pies, and dishes that feel thoughtful without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place where breakfast turns into a slow morning, and a slow morning turns into a day you didn’t plan but are glad you had.

Lotus Cafe — Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole has a way of feeling both rugged and refined at the same time. It’s a place where mornings start with mountain air and end with something unexpectedly thoughtful on your plate. At Lotus Cafe, Chef Amy Young leans fully into that balance. The menu is built around organic ingredients, from responsibly sourced meats to fresh vegetables, creating dishes that feel clean without sacrificing flavor.

One customer in the episode puts it simply when she said, “I think Amy has done a really unique thing here.”

April 1 is the day for pranks, and many authors, publications, businesses, and individuals love to get involved. So, when Freida McFadden shared that she was releasing a new thriller that sounded completely different from the style she is used to writing, many fans erred on the side of caution.

Was this some sort of prank? If they pre-ordered the new novel, The Dinner Party, and it turned out to be a prank, would they get their money back? Some decided to take a leap, but others reached out to the award-winning author to find out the truth, and she graciously responded.

‘The Dinner Party’ Is a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Book

McFadden released the news that she had a new novel coming out. While that wouldn’t usually be a cause for concern, The Dinner Party is different. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure book (or “pick your poison” as it’s also been referred to), allowing readers to pick the path that they would prefer to take. The best thing about these books is that you can read them multiple times and end up with a different plot and ending.

Considering The Housemaid author usually writes traditional psychological thrillers with wild twists, it was only natural that fans didn’t quite jump into pre-order. After all, this was announced on April 1, 2026, and it just seems too wild to be true.

Freida McFadden Settled Her Fans Minds

One of the great things about McFadden is that she is responsive and active on social media. Not only does she hang out in a couple of psychological thriller groups on Facebook, but she is also active in a group that is all for Freida McFadden fans.

After getting questions from many, she took to one of the groups to share that The Dinner Party is, in fact, a real book. The pre-order link will lead to getting the release, and it will be in paperback and eBook format first. The best thing about Kindle reading is that the links to the chapters will be clickable, making it easy to jump to the story.

While most of her novels are released on Audible, that’s not going to happen with The Dinner Party just yet. You can probably imagine the trouble jumping from chapter to chapter while listening! There will be an audiobook version eventually. McFadden shared that Dreamscape says they've done it before, and Megan Tusing and Will Damron will narrate.
