Erin Murphy Was Working a Very Different Job 10 Years After ‘Bewitched’

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:36am

Erin Murphy spent most of her childhood as a working actress on the classic TV sitcomBewitched. The young star joined the cast of the magical ABC comedy series in 1966 when she was just two years old, playing mini witch Tabitha Stephens until the series ended in 1972.

But Murphy didn’t dive into multiple acting roles after Bewitched. She instead enjoyed being a kid and a normal teenager—and that included getting the obligatory teen job at the mall.

In a new post on Facebook, Murphy, now 62, shared a throwback photo from 1982, the year after she graduated high school. In the photo, she was dressed in a red blouse and white skirt as she posed on a carpeted stairway, preparing to head off to work. But “work” wasn’t an acting job for the then-18-year-old.

“Throwback Thursday! Heading to work at the May Company department store, 18 years old,” Murphy captioned the photo.

Fans had a big reaction in the comment section, with some telling the beloved sitcom star they never "expected” to see her working a regular job.

“Wow I am surprised you had to work a normal job. You basically look the same. Haven't aged a day,” one fan wrote.

“That's awesome, I would not have guessed that you had a ‘regular’ job..... I would've thought you would have had acting jobs....” another chimed in.

“It does my heart good to see that you grew up in such a relatively normal way and avoided the tragic traps that so many child stars fell victim to. Thank you so much for sharing!” a third commenter added.

In a previous post, Murphy revealed that she worked at the cosmetics counter at a department store in an Orange County, California, mall.

“Working at the makeup counter of the May Company Department Store at the Mission Viejo Mall,” she wrote in 2025. “Seems like yesterday AND a million years ago.”

After Bewitched, Murphy did normal childhood things like going to Girl Scout Camp—even as acting offers came in.

In an interview with Celebrity Drop, she recalled an offer to guest star on The Waltons. "I was at Girl Scout camp. And the call came in, and the decision was made that I wanted to stay at Girl Scout camp,” she shared.

"It was kind of great being a normal kid and being a cheerleader and all of those things," Murphy added of her teen years. "I like that I had both sides of that childhood.”

It’s unclear how long Murphy worked at the mall, but when she turned 21, she gained access to her invested earnings from the 103 episodes of Bewitched in which she appeared.

Speaking on The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan podcast earlier this year, she explained, “I got my money from Bewitched when I turned 21. …The way the laws were written back then, kid actors got something, it’s called a Coogan account, where a percentage of your money from a television show or movie is put into savings.”

“When I turned 21, I bought a house, bought a horse, lived on a little ranch, married, started having a family,” the former Bewitched star shared.

Lionel Richie Postpones More Shows Following Health Scare

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:35am

Lionel Richie has postponed two more concerts after being forced to unexpectedly cut his tour's opening night short due to health problems.

The 77-year-old "Dancing on the Ceiling" singer's upcoming performances in Chicago, Ill., and Columbus, Ohio, have been postponed "under advisement by doctors to rest and return to full health," according to a statement posted on Instagram by Live Nation Chicago and the United Center in Chicago on Thursday, June 25.

“Under advisement by doctors to rest and return to full health, Lionel Richie has postponed his show on Friday, June 26 in Chicago, IL and Saturday, June 27 in Columbus, OH,” the statement reads. “He and Earth, Wind & Fire will return to the stage on Tuesday, June 30 in Pittsburgh, PA. Lionel is heartbroken to postpone these two shows and cannot wait to be back performing for his fans."

Promising to update fans on the new dates for the performances, the statement concluded, "We apologize for any inconvenience this causes fans who have tickets for these two shows. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon."

Earlier this week, Richie cut short the opening night performance of the 2026 leg of his Sing a Song All Night Long Tour, also featuring Earth, Wind & Fire.

The "Hello" singer was mid-performance at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minn., on Wednesday, June 24, when he took a seat on stage, remarking that he was feeling dizzy.

“When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down,” he joked as he took a seat to perform “Three Times a Lady” at the piano. The declaration was then followed by an intermission from which Richie never returned.

“Unfortunately, Lionel is not feeling well,” Richie’s saxophonist, Dino Soldo, told the audience. “He won’t be able to continue. Additional information will be available."

Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris later told the Star Tribune that Richie was "a little dehydrated" but had shown no concerning signs ahead of the performance.

Wednesday's show was meant to kick off a 26-show run on the Sing Along All Night Long tour, which is set to wrap on Aug. 14 in Austin, Texas, before an international leg launches later this year.

‘Jersey Shore’ Star Defends Snubbing 2 Costars From Her Surprise Wedding: ‘You Get What You Deserve’

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:33am

Jenni “JWoww” Farley from the Jersey Shore got married to her partner, pro wrestler Zack Clayton Carpinello, on June 24. The pair held a Beauty and the Beast-inspired wedding with only 50 guests. "We envisioned a small, meaningful celebration focused on the people who matter most to us,” she told PEOPLE. “We weren’t interested in throwing the biggest wedding possible. We wanted an unforgettable moment shared with our closest family and friends. The goal was creating memories, not creating a production.”

Two stars from the Jersey Shore franchise were not invited to the celebration—Angelina Pivarnick and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. According to TMZ, the pair were “blindsided” and “extremely upset and hurt” by not being included in the affair.

View this post on Instagram

Farley has responded to the comments that have been circulating, posting a video to her Instagram on June 25 where she said, “You proved my point.”

“I’m doing this once because it’s so infuriating that while I am trying to enjoy being a wife to my husband, I am now getting caught up in retweets and tabloids about who was invited and who wasn’t invited, and who retweeted it, and who commented under it,” she continued, as reported by Us Magazine. “And I’m just sitting here being like, ‘If you were a true friend, if you were a true family member, none of this would be public right now, you would have came to me.’ But you can’t come to me, because then you can’t play victim to your own fake-ass narrative, because the reality is less than 50 people were in it, and these 50 people would f**king go to jail for me. That is the fact.”

Related: How Snooki’s Kids Reacted to Her Cervical Cancer Diagnosis: ‘Are You Dying?’

Farley went on to explain that she’s happy with her decision to leave certain people off the invite list, based on the way they’re reacting in tabloids. “You’re in it for the wrong reason, you’re not in it to show love, you’re not in it for the most beautiful part of my life, which is getting married to the person I could not love more, while my children are by my side,” she said. “You’re in it for the f**king drama, and it’s a f**king joke. So I’m saying this once, and I’m saying it with my whole chest. You get what you deserve, and when you continue to play victim to your own narrative, and you continue with this bullsh*t, you will never succeed in life.”

Farley has been with Carpinello for over 7 years. They went public in their relationship in early 2019 and got engaged on top of the Empire State Building in 2021.

Tom Sandoval Fire Pit Video Sparks Bravo Fan Debate After Victoria Robinson’s Dad Shares New Footage

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:11am

Tom Sandoval’s explosive legal battle with ex-girlfriend Victoria Robinson and her father has taken another turn after new video footage surfaced that appears to show an altercation involving the Vanderpump Rules star.

In the footage, Sandoval appears to get in Victoria's face, asking her if she's recording him, before shoving her father, who tumbles over a lit fire pit. Now, fans are dissecting the video and debating who was in the wrong.

The footage comes after Sandoval, 42, filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Robinson and her father, J. Will Robinson, claiming he was subjected to physical and verbal abuse during their relationship. In his court filing, Sandoval alleged that Robinson punched him and that her father “lunged” at him during the June 3 incident. Following the release of the video, social media users have been weighing both sides of the explosive dispute as the former couple’s relationship continues to unravel.

While some fans initially appeared to side with Sandoval after his allegations became public, the newly surfaced footage has shifted the conversation, with viewers now questioning what happened before and after the confrontation.

"Omg! What is wrong with him? The girlfriend looks scared, probably not the first time she has seen him this way. My dad would have beat the crap out of him! I don’t blame dad for going after him," one person wrote on an Instagram post.

In another post, someone observed, "All I see a is a father defending is daughter. Tom pushed the dad first" with another person writing, "Umm seems like tom is fulllyyy the one who assaulted…. Both of them???"

Others said the situation appears more complicated than it first seemed, emphasizing that allegations of violence should always be taken seriously and handled through the proper channels.

"Thankfully, the media has been showing what a problem Domestic Violence is across the nation. This type of behavior should not be tolerated by anyone. Violence is not a sign of Love, it’s a sign of severe mental illness. However, just because someone has a mental illness that does not mean their actions should be tolerated, forgiven, forgotten, or seen as not their fault or that they shouldn’t be held accountable. Consequences are an important part for change to happen," one person wrote.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, help is available 24 hours a day through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

I Spent 30 Months Performing on Cruise Ships—Here is the Truth About Carnival’s Entertainment

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:10am

I spent over 30 months of my life living and performing at sea, and it all started with Carnival Cruise Line. I performed for other cruise lines as well, and over the years I’ve gained quite a clear perspective on the entertainment offerings on ships around the world. I first worked for Carnival in 2016, and I was able to visit again this year, experiencing the entertainment on board exactly 10 years later.

My visit was on the Carnival Sunrise, which currently has two mainstage shows onboard: Vintage Pop and Soulbound. The shows are performed by the Playlist Cast, which is a group of performers made up of two female singers, two female dancers, two male singers and two male dancers. This was the group that I performed with as well back when I worked on the (now extinct) Carnival Imagination. Playlist Productions aren’t on every single Carnival cruise ship, but I highly recommend booking a trip on a ship that does have it.

Related: I’ve Been on 100+ Cruises—Here’s the One Thing That Stood out about Carnival’s New Private Island

What Makes Playlist Productions So Special?

Many cruise ships have extremely large casts, where it’s filled with multiple singers and a large group of dancers. On Carnival, most Playlist Productions casts are made up of a group of eight performers who are all phenomenal singers and dancers. You will notice in group numbers that the lead singers will be dancing full-out choreography at the same level of the dancers, and the dancers have microphones where they are singing in harmony for the entirety of the show. As a performer myself, I recognize the level of talent that it takes to pull off a show that is built in this manner.

Spooky, soulful, and structurally impressive—Soulbound puts the cast's vocal stamina to the ultimate test, and they completely nail it.

Carnival Cruise Line

When speaking with Playlist dancer Tess Larchian about why she keeps coming back to perform for Carnival, she shared, “As a Playlist Performer I am required to push my skill set by constantly being challenged with intricate choreography and partner work, all while vocally holding harmonies. The hard work is extremely satisfying and I enjoy every minute on stage. Another reason I keep coming back is the incredible job consistency. It is something that we don’t often see in show business.” That’s another great point as well–job security in the performing arts is incredibly rare. With a company like Carnival that is loyal to its performers, it makes those performers want to work hard and respect the gig even more.

As an audience member, I love being able to really appreciate each and every member of the cast. Everyone gets their chance to shine, and it helps to make each show much more digestible. You’re never distracted by too many things going on at once, and instead, you are razor focused on the incredible talent that is being highlighted in front of you.

Now, I do think that a large cast has its place–mostly in situations where it is a “book” musical, AKA a show where there are characters, a full plot and scenes. Disney Cruise Line is a great example of this. Shows like Beauty and the Beast and Frozen are in a completely different wheelhouse than your average cruise ship shows. However, when it comes to traditional cruise ship shows, I really think that Carnival has mastered the perfect recipe for success.

How I Felt About The Actual Shows Onboard

I had never seen Vintage Pop or Soulbound before, so I was extremely excited to see how I’d like them. Vintage Pop takes place in the 1920s, featuring jazzy remakes of current pop songs. The costumes were gorgeous, each uniquely designed for each different performer in the show. The choreography was dynamic and fun, featuring classic jazz styles as well as more modern hip-hop and stylized movement. I was drawn in the entire time, and I felt like the vibe of the show fit the energy of being on a cruise ship vacation. It encouraged you to let go and have fun, transported you to a different time, and made you want to get up and dance.

Blending retro style with modern vocals, Vintage Pop showcases the sheer versatility and tight harmonies of the Playlist Productions cast.

Soulbound is a spooky R&B style show that takes place in New Orleans, and features a cast of very specific characters. While there is a storyline that is meant to be perceived during the performance–I didn’t quite catch the specifics, especially because there isn’t dialogue. That could have been at the fault of my one-too-many trips to the Red Frog Pub onboard, however. Beyond that, I thought the show was completely captivating. The dancers had a lot of partnering work in this show, where the men were throwing the women in the air, executing incredibly impressive choreography. Meanwhile, the singers were belting ridiculously impressive notes, and one even performed a solo while suspended in the air. I was impressed by how the performers executed such polished performances, especially knowing that they were doing this on a moving ship.

Joel Roberts, a Playlist singer onboard, told me “Our shows are anywhere from 37-45 minutes of non-stop cardio, so we hold ourselves to rigorous gym schedules because we have to keep our bodies physically fit for the shows, which we perform twice a night.” The performer's dedication clearly showed with such solid performances.

My Overall Thoughts on Carnival’s Entertainment

If I truly had to choose the type of entertainment that I’d rather see on cruise ships, it would be full-fledged musicals like Moana on the Disney Treasure or Come From Away on the CunardQueen Elizabeth. However, if I’m going on a cruise ship to simply relax and have a good time, and the entertainment is just an extra added bonus, I really think Carnival has some of the best.

Carnival lies in the category of “classic cruise ship shows” similar to what Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean offers. Out of everything I’ve personally seen at sea, the ones that have stuck with me the most have been Carnival’s Playlist Productions. They are shows that I wouldn’t mind seeing again and again. The talent across the various ships stays consistent, the shows are high-tech and well-executed, and it doesn’t feel too cheesy or overdone. It’s the perfect level of entertainment to break up a night of big dinners and partying.

Jon Bon Jovi Is "Always on the Floor" With Millie Bobby Brown's Baby

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:09am

Millie Bobby Brown spent a decade being chased by monsters in Hawkins, Indiana. That may have have prepared her for some of the challenges of motherhood. Now that's not to compare her daughter to a monster, because as it turns out her daughter has a pretty legendary fan in the family.

Brown stopped by the TODAY show to promote Enola Holmes 3, her upcoming Netflixfilm arriving July 1. But the conversation took a warmer turn when host Savannah Guthrie brought up the subject of Brown's father-in-law, Jon Bon Jovi.

"They just had her the other day for the whole day, and they went to Target and got like a cart full of things for her," Brown told Guthrie. "He's just always on the floor crawling around with her, dying laughing, videoing every new thing she does. He's the best and so is Dorothea, my amazing mother-in-law. They are the most present grandparents and we couldn't be luckier to have them in her life."

It was a candid, unguarded from Brown, who has been deliberate about keeping her daughter's life private since she and husband Jake Bongiovi announced the adoption in August 2025. "This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption," the couple wrote at the time. "We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy." They have not revealed their daughter's name or shared photos of her face.

Brown was ready when Guthrie reminded her that Bon Jovi had already promised the baby would never have to walk. "She doesn't," Brown replied with a laugh.

Motherhood, Brown said, has brought the unexpected gift of watching her daughter's personality emerge. "She's hilarious," she told Guthrie. "I think she's becoming more and more like me every day. The other day she was just like... was like, that's *my* side eye."

The TODAY appearance came hours before the world premiere of Enola Holmes 3 at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, where Brown walked the red carpet with Bongiovi and former Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp. The film is the third installment of the franchise and the first original film trilogy in Netflix history. Brown began playing Enola at 15.

"I've been lucky within my career so far, able to stay with a character for maybe longer than expected," she said. "It's so exciting, especially because I started this when I was 15, to be able to have her grow with me. I'm 22. I feel like now I'm just bringing different elements of maturity and wisdom to her."

As for Stranger Things, which wrapped its final season in December 2025, Brown said some goodbyes are still hard to process. "I was just with Josh last night, and he showed the scene that my character dies," she said Thursday, "and I can't watch it. It's very emotional for me because it reminds me of the time I had to say goodbye to all my friends. That show will always be a part of my life, and I'm eternally grateful for that."

1981 Comedy Turns 45: Why John Candy Was Self-Conscious While Filming

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 7:00am

Stripes was released 45 years ago on June 26. The summer comedy shows a taxi driver named John Winger (Bill Murray) losing everything and joining the army with his friend Russell Ziskey (Harold Ramis).

The comedy was largely improvised, but not everyone was on board for all the gags. John Candy wasn't a fan of a fighting scene that made him vulnerable.

John Candy Was Upset About the Mud-Wrestling in 'Stripes'

John and Russell's platoon loses its leader, and they figure out basic training on their own. Dewey "Ox" Oxberger (Candy) goes to a mud wrestling bar and is roped into going into the ring with four women in bikinis.

"They're not expecting somebody like you in there! They're expecting one of these bums. You're different, you're weird, you're a mutant, you're a killer!" John yells at Ox to pump him up.

The character goes in the ring, keeping his white shirt on, and the women team up on him. The ladies punch him, and Ox mostly takes it. Candy wasn't a fan of the scene.

"It was like, John take off your shirt and roll around in the mud with a bunch strippers," actor Dave Thomas revealed in the Prime Video documentary John Candy: I Like Me. "John wore a long-sleeve T-shirt top, because he wouldn't go completely bare-chested." His children, Jennifer Candy and Chris Candy, told Gold Derby that the actor thought about that experience years later.

"We knew for a long time about how he felt during that scene," his son said. "We always knew there was an upsetness [sic] that he had about it. But what I didn't understand until I was watching the movie is how much he balanced his public image and his personal image in terms of what the world wanted from him. His size was a such a part of that, and he grappled with that [throughout his life]."

John Candy Snuck in Beer in a Dry County

Candy was Canadian and was surprised to find out that dry counties existed in America, and you can't buy alcohol. The movie was filmed in Kentucky. Judge Reinhold told The Rich Eisen Show that Candy initially didn't believe it.

"And he goes, beer's not alcohol," Reinhold, 69, said. "Next day, he just had the teamsters on it. And so he got an adjoining room, and that was kind of the party room, and he just kept that bathtub full of ice and beer."

They also practiced the "razzle dazzle" rifle scene in his room. Sadly, the room paid the price for their mistakes.

"They were all wooden rifles, but there was a lot of spinning involved in the room," Reinhold explained. "There were big cracks and holes in candy's ceiling because we kept losing the rifles."

The rifle scene showed the characters' platoon joining the others for graduation. Murray's character is leading the charge, giving his best Elvis Presley impression. We get iconic quotes like "That's a fact, Jack," and more in the scene. Their performance starts with people laughing at them, but they get applause in the end.

1944 Classic Film Ranked Among the Greatest Crime Movies Was Inspired by a Real Murder Case

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 6:58am

Double Indemnity was a 1944 noir crime film about a woman who teamed up with an insurance salesman to kill her husband in the hopes of receiving a life insurance payment. The film was nominated for 7 Academy Awards and was entered into the National Film Registry in 1992. It was also recently named one of the “10 Greatest Crime Movies Based on Books” by Collider, along with The Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption.

Double Indemnity was based on a James M. Cain novel of the same name. It was inspired by the real murder of Albert Snyder, who was murdered by his wife in 1927. She ended up getting the electric chair in Sing Sing Prison, which was photographed and published in the New York Daily News. Cain attended the trial while working as a journalist covering the story.

Related: 1973 Classic Novel Was Denied a Pulitzer for Being Too ‘Obscene’ So No Prize Was Awarded That Year

In an interview with James Linville, writer Billy Wilder spoke about creating the script alongside Raymond Chandler, admitting that their collaboration didn't go smoothly at first. “Chandler came into the studio, and we gave him the Cain story, Double Indemnity, to read,” Wilder explained. “He came back the next day: ‘I read that story. It’s absolute shit!’ He hated Cain because of Cain’s big success with The Postman Always Rings Twice. He said, 'Well, I’ll do it anyway. Give me a screenplay so I can familiarize myself with the format. This is Friday. Do you want it a week from Monday?' 'Holy shit,' we said. We usually took five to six months on a script. ‘Don’t worry,’ he said. He had no idea that I was not only the director but was supposed to write it with him.”

Wilder continued, “He came back in ten days with eighty pages of absolute bullshit. He had some good phrases of dialogue, but they must have given him a script written by someone who wanted to be a director. He’d put in directions for fade-ins, dissolves, all kinds of camera moves to show he’d grasped the technique. I sat him down and explained we’d have to work together. We always met at nine o’clock and would quit at about four-thirty. I had to explain a lot to him as we went along, but he was very helpful to me. What we were doing together had real electricity. He was a very, very good writer—but not of scripts."

In addition to its movie adaptation, Double Indemnity was also adapted into a radio drama, a television film, and a stage adaptation. The story is considered a masterpiece in suspense by many, with some believing it is the best noir film of all time. As one Reddituser said, "Double Indemnity is one of those movies where I will drop everything that I'm doing of it's on just to catch a few scenes. Every line has meaning, every character is interesting enough to be worthy of a prequel film, and every time I watch it, I think that it should have won for Best Picture that year."

The Origins of Key Lime Pie Remain a Mystery Key Lime Pie

That same single-serve format is a fitting way to enjoy a dessert whose own history is anything but tidy. While key lime pie has long been associated with the Florida Keys, its exact origins remain unclear. According to Quaint Cooking, some historians credit a woman known as “Aunt Sally,” who cooked for Key West millionaire William Curry in the late 1800s. Others believe sponge fishermen may have created an early version using sweetened condensed milk and local key limes. Whatever its beginnings, the sweet-tart dessert has become a summertime staple.

Whether you’re heading to a Fourth of July barbecue, spending a day at the beach, or simply craving something bright and citrusy, Costco’s new dessert cups offer a taste of Florida’s most iconic pie. And while its true origins may still be up for debate, its place as a summer favorite isn’t.

Amazon’s 'Powerful' New E-Bike Is 50% Off for Prime Day, and It’s Perfect for Commuting and Weekend Rides

A reliable e-bike can make commuting, running errands, and staying active a lot more fun — but finding one with enough power and range often means spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Thankfully, Prime Day is bringing major savings on electric bikes, including one versatile model that's now 50% off.

The Misodo Electric Mountain Bike is currently on sale at Amazon for $360, down from $720. Equipped with a 1,500-watt peak motor, it has the power to tackle hills and uneven terrain while still being practical for everyday rides. It also boasts a range of up to 65 miles per charge, so you won't have to worry about constantly plugging it in. Shoppers were especially impressed by its flexibility, with one reviewer saying its "versatility is what really makes it worth it."

Many entry-level models use 500 to 750-watt motors which work well for casual rides but can lose power on steep hills. The Misodo's 1,500-watt motor offers significantly more power, helping riders climb inclines and navigate rough terrain while reaching speeds up to 25 mph. It also features an LCD display that shows speed, mileage, and battery status at a glance.

Designed for both everyday rides and outdoor adventures, the bike comes with seven gears for adjusting to different terrain. One reviewer described it as “powerful” and said the overall structure feels “sturdy” and “smooth.” Its 26-inch all-terrain tires, front suspension, and dual disc brakes help create a smoother ride on everything from paved roads to trails. It has a 350-pound weight capacity.

Another practical feature is its removable battery. A full charge takes about four to five hours and provides an estimated range of 45 to 65 miles, depending on riding conditions. Since the battery can be removed, you can charge it indoors without bringing the entire bike inside.

While this particular Misodo e-bike is new to Amazon and hasn’t racked up many reviews, Amazon reviewers have praised near identical Misodo models as easy to put together. The bike arrives about 95% assembled to streamline the process. "Assembly out of the box was so straightforward, I was riding the same day," a reviewer noted.

Others praised Misodo’s overall value, with one calling it a "great electric bike for the money" and another noting that it's both comfortable and easy to ride. The bike is available in classic black and gray styles.

Disney World Just Dropped Festive Hotel Deals—And They Might Be the Absolute Best Value of the Year

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 6:10am

Let's be completely real for a moment: trying to book a Walt Disney World vacation during the spectacular winter season usually requires braced posture and a very deep breath when you click over to the checkout screen.

Between the high demand for Mickey’s festive parties and the premium pricing that traditionally comes with seeing the parks decked out in their holiday best, a November or December getaway can easily drain your travel fund before you even buy a single gingerbread cookie.

But if you’ve been holding off on planning a holiday escape because of the steep price tag, Disney’s latest announcement is the ultimate reason to finally open up your calendar.

As part of its property-wide "Halfway to the Holidays" media push, the resort just dropped a massive slate of room and package promotions for late fall and winter 2026. Because these deals are explicitly structured to slash up to nearly a third off your lodging or bundle in high-ticket park privileges completely for free, theme park insiders are already eyeing this drop as potentially the most lucrative value window of the entire year.

View this post on Instagram The Streaming Loophole That Scores You Free Park Hoppers

The absolute sleeper hit of this entire promotion relies on a clever connection to your TV subscription. If you are a Disney+ subscriber enrolled in the Disney+ Perks program, you have a golden ticket to the single most aggressive bundle deal on the table. When you book a qualifying four-night, four-day room-and-ticket package, you unlock an automatic 25% discount on your resort hotel stay.

But the real magic is the massive, high-value bonus thrown into the mix: Disney is tossing in a complimentary Park Hopper upgrade for your entire party. Given that adding Park Hopper access to a multi-day family ticket block normally adds a staggering upcharge to your final bill, getting that flexibility thrown in for zero dollars is an absolute game-changer for moving between the parks seamlessly. The only catch is that inventory for these packages is strictly limited, and the travel dates are locked into specific chunks—including prime windows like late November (November 15 to 28) and the crucial pre-Christmas rush (December 13 to 24).

Massive Tiered Cuts for Passholders and Locals

If you don't have a streaming subscription, the standalone room-only discounts are equally impressive and span a generous travel window from October 4 all the way through Christmas Eve. Senior Editor Jackie Gaileynotes for The DIS that the sheer scale of the tiered savings makes a luxury stay significantly more accessible, especially for core loyalty members. Annual Passholders walk away with the biggest win of the bunch, unlocking a whopping 30% off select Disney Resort hotel rooms.

For regional travelers who prefer a classic great American road trip over flying, Floridaresidents can capitalize on localized price cuts up to 25% off across key holiday blocks. Even standard, non-affiliated leisure travelers can easily shave up to 20% off their room rates during the exact same autumn and winter dates.

When you pair these dramatic price drops with the built-in, complimentary perks of staying inside the "Disney Bubble"—like bypassing chaotic parking lots via the resort’s free monorail, boat, and Skyliner transit networks, alongside gaining an extra 30 minutes of ride time every morning via Early Theme Park Entry—the math overwhelmingly tips in favor of staying on property. The booking windows are officially open as of June 25, 2026, so if you want to claim a prime room at a Deluxe tier like the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge without paying peak-season prices, the time to lock in your strategy is right now.

Your Dream Cruise Vacation, Based on Your Birth Month

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 6:10am

Cruising around the world is the best way to expand your horizons. Whether you’re exploring domestic destinations or sailing the seven seas around foreign sites, there’s a cruise destination for you, based on your birth month. Your perfect cruise destination represents the energy of your birth month. Depending on your birth month, your cruise destination might hold fiery volcanoes, staggering fjords, pristine glaciers, or dazzling beaches. Some birth months will feel called to cooler climates while others thrive in tropical paradises.

What’s your perfect cruise destination, according to your birth month? No matter what destination you’re paired with, you’re destined to have the adventure of a lifetime. Read on to discover where you should cruise to next.

Your Cruise Destination, Based on Your Birth Month

Check for the month you were born for pro insights.

January: Alaska

January’s perfect cruise destination feels untamed and exciting. People born during this month are a mix of the Saturn-ruled signs, Capricorn and Aquarius. They thrive with the structure that cruises bring, but they also want to go somewhere to see wild sights they cannot get at home. Doing a land-and-sea tour around Alaska is the perfect compromise. January will be drawn to Alaska’s raw beauty. From the gorgeous national parks to glacier viewings to teaming wildlife, Alaska has everything January could hope for in a cruise destination.

YUM!: Your Perfect Popsicle Flavor, Based on Your Birth Month

February: Norway

A cruise destination should showcase sights and views February has never seen before. This birth month wants an otherworldly experience, since February is a combination of individualistic Aquarius and dreamy Pisces. February will find exactly what they’re looking for cruising around Norway. Depending on when February goes, they could see the beautiful aurora borealis—a.k.a. the northern lights—dancing across the wintery skies. Sailing past Norway’s snowy mountains and fjords will also transport February to another timeline. Plus, February gets bragging points for booking a unique cruise destination.

March: French Polynesia

Paradise awaits March birthdays when they set sails. March will be driven to book a dreamy cruise destination thanks to being co-ruled by fantastical Pisces and vibrant Aries. The perfect cruise destination exemplifies March’s rich inner world, which March will find while cruising through French Polynesia. Snorkeling through the colorful coral reefs and embracing Polynesian culture is a transcendental experience. Experiencing the lagoons firsthand is a dream March never knew they had. French Polynesia promises delight and intrigue, making it the perfect cruise destination for March.

April: Thailand

April enjoys exploring lively cities as much as they love laying out on a sandy beach. Since this birth month is a combination of action-packed Aries and easygoing Taurus, April’s ideal cruise destination should be a mix of play and pleasure. Not many cruise destinations strike the right balance of excitement and relaxation, but Thailand certainly does. April will enjoy basking in Thailand’s warm, balmy sunshine as they discover temples, buzzy cities, and crystalline beaches. Thailand offers the perfect getaway with so much for April to look forward to.

FUN!: This Is Your Perfect Shopping Store, Based on Your Birth Month

May: British Isles

Individuals born in May are looking for a relaxed yet mentally stimulating cruise destination. All May birthdays share Taurus’ steadiness and Gemini’s curiosity, so they want a cruise that feels calm yet intriguing. May will find what they seek while sailing through the British Isles, which typically features sites from Ireland, Scotland, and England. This easygoing cruise will bring May to castles and villages rich with history. May will love spending time enjoying a pint at a local pub or spotting marine life on their cruise. The British Isles’ charm and laidback energy is just what May needs.

June: Mediterranean Sea

June looks for exciting landscapes and cities that offer the comfort of home while searching for their perfect cruise destination. Their Gemini-like wonder and Cancerian need for coziness will bring June to the Mediterranean Sea. This specific cruise destination can bring May anywhere from Croatia, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and more! Regardless of what May chooses, the Mediterranean Sea offers this birth month peace and relaxation. May will enjoy eating amazing food, strolling through local coastal cities, and laying out on the beaches.

July: Mexico

People born in July look for a vivacious cruise destination with an unbeatable food and atmosphere. They’re heavily influenced by comfort-seeking Cancer and passionate Leo, so July will feel drawn to Mexico. Whether July is stopping at Puerto Vallarta or Cozumel, they will find excitement and joy at every Mexican port. July feels initially drawn to Mexico for its amazing food and tequila. Once they’re there, July falls in love with Mexico’s vibrancy and rich history. July loves Mexico so much they might not want to get back on the boat.

August: Caribbean

August doesn’t overthink where they want to go. Between their ever-popular Leo energy and inquiring Virgo mind, August already knows what the perfect cruise destination is: the Caribbean. Everyone loves the Caribbean, especially those born in August. People with this birth month don’t even need to bring a friend or partner on their Caribbean cruise. They’ll make new friends on and off the boat. The Caribbean is teaming with life and personality, so August will feel right at home. Whether  they’re adventuring or relaxing, August glows basking in the Caribbean’s sunshine.

September: Baltic Sea

September’s perfect cruise should be classy, modern, and stylish. People born during this month are influenced by picture perfect Virgo and fashionable Libra, so they’re picky about their cruise destination. Finding the perfect fit isn’t easy, but September will feel more than pleased with the Baltic Sea. This particular cruise destination takes September to swanky Nordic coasts and intriguing Baltic cities. September will experience various cultures while also exploring enchanting cities and fairytale-like forests. Adventuring through the Baltic Sea will be an experience unlike anything September has had before.

October: Fiji

People born during October need a much-deserved break from the real world. October always shows up for everyone and everything else due to having an ever-caring Libra heart and determined Scorpio spirit. A tropical oasis is more appealing than an action-packed adventure, so October’s perfect cruise destination is Fiji. Blue skies, clear lagoons, and palm trees await those born in October. October can also explore waterfalls and mountains if they’re feeling adventurous. No matter where they dock, spending a day at any of Fiji's prestigious islands will immediately put October at ease.

November: Iceland

Most go on vacation to relax, but not November. Individuals with this birth month share Scorpio’s intensity and Sagittarius adventurousness. November doesn’t want to be stuck on a cruise ship throughout their entire vacation. They need action, excitement, and intrigue. Luckily, Iceland has it all. The land of ice and fire is beloved for its summertime midnight sun, wintertime northern lights, and cinematic destinations. November comes alive standing by majestic waterfalls and hiking up glaciers. With so much to see and do, Iceland is the perfect cruise destination for November.

December: Antarctica

What if December’s cruise ship took them to a destination few have the privilege of experiencing? Individuals with this birth month want the best of the best, since they’re influenced by cultured Sagittarius and share Capricorn’s high standards. They don’t want to go somewhere anyone can access. Thankfully, December’s perfect cruise destination is within their reach. Antarctica is the trip of a lifetime. December isn’t afraid to cross the Drake Passage if it means seeing icebergs, penguins, and more in real life. Cruising to the remote seventh continent is something December will never forget.

1979 Classic Rock Hit, Delayed by Nearly a Year, Remains a Timeless Anthem 47 Years Later

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:50am

In 1979, Cheap Trick had a major hit with the song “Dream Police,” but it was about a year overdue. The song had a delayed release amid the surprise success of the band’s At Budokan album the previous year.

Written by Rick Nielsen, “Dream Police” featured a driving guitar riff, synthesized orchestral strings, and frantic lyrics about late-night paranoia, including a theatrical mid-song spoken word by the songwriter himself. It had all the makings of a hit record.

But during the recording of the Dream Police album in 1978, Cheap Trick went on tour in Japan, causing a frenzy that was captured on a live album. The concerts at Nippon Budokan were so successful that plans for a Japan-only album expanded to an international release. Because of the massive success of the At Budokan album, the release of “Dream Police” was postponed by nearly a year.

Dream Police was ready to go when …Budokan came out,” Nielsen once said, per Classic Rock magazine. “We held it back because Budokan was so successful.”

Once it was finally released, “Dream Police” peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of Cheap Trick’s highest-charting studio songs. A bizarre MTV music video featuring bandmates Nielsen, Robin Zander, Tom Petersson, and Bun E. Carlos gave the power-pop hit new attention two years later.

Nielsen wrote “Dream Police” from the point of view of a paranoid man who believed his dreams were being monitored.

“Lyrically, the song was about Big Brother watching you," the rocker confirmed in the liner notes of the remastered edition of the album, per Ultimate Classic Rock.

Of the music, Nielsen also told Classic Rock, “When I wrote it, it needed more instrumentation, more than just guitar, bass, and drums. So it had that keyboard… It’s an orchestral part that I wrote.”

Session keyboardist Jai Winding was brought in to add layers to the iconic track.

Decades after its release, “Dream Police” is a staple of Cheap Trick’s live set list and remains a beloved anthem. Nielsen, now 77, still channels his paranoid alter ego, while fans chant along to the wild lyrics.

In 2026, Cheap Trick is on the road for the All Washed Up Tour.

1977 Classic Ballad, Recreated by No. 1 Hitting Rock Icon, Became a Soft Rock Anthem

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:47am

A deeply personal love song has connected with listeners for nearly half a century.

When Dan Hill released "Sometimes When We Touch" in 1977, the heartfelt ballad quickly became the biggest hit of his career. Built around vulnerable lyrics and an unforgettable melody, the song climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the defining soft rock classics of the late 1970s.

Its emotional honesty helped set it apart.

Co-written by Hill and Barry Mann, "Sometimes When We Touch" explored the complicated emotions that often accompany love, intimacy and insecurity. Hill was inspired to write the song when he found himself deeply in love who didn't feel the same way.

"She was interested in another man, so that was breaking my heart," Hill said in a 2017 interview. "So I thought I needed to write a song that would capture her and win her over—that would be so passionate in a sense that she'd see that I'm the only guy for her."

Rather than presenting romance as effortless, the song embraced vulnerability, a quality that resonated with audiences around the world and helped turn it into an international hit.

"It's hard for me to talk about sometimes, but let's just put it this way," Hill told CBC. "You know, I was a typical male, born in the '50s, we're not supposed to express any kind of feeling or emotion. So — sorry — I threw all my emotions into my songwriting. It became an incredibly valuable release for me to be writing about things that I had such powerful feelings about."

The song's success established Hill as one of the era's most recognizable singer-songwriters, but the song’s story didn’t end there.

Over the years, "Sometimes When We Touch" was recorded by dozens of artists across multiple genres. One of its most notable reinterpretations came just one year later in 1978, when Tina Turner recorded the song for her album, Rough. Turner was on her way to becoming one of rock's biggest stars, later earning multiple Grammy Awards and scoring No. 1 hits with songs including "What’s Love Got to Do With It."

Rather than simply recreating the original, Turner brought a different emotional perspective to the ballad. Her powerful, soulful vocal transformed the intimate confession into a song of resilience and reflection, introducing the classic to a new generation while remaining faithful to its emotional core.

The enduring popularity of both versions helped secure "Sometimes When We Touch" as one of soft rock's defining ballads. Whether through Hill's vulnerable original or Turner's commanding reinterpretation, the song has continued to find listeners through radio, streaming services and live performances for decades.

"I had absolutely no idea what a transformative life experience it would become to have a song that was an absolute smash right over the world in every single country," said Hill. "It was just, like, absolute madness."

More than 45 years after its release, "Sometimes When We Touch" remains one of the era's most beloved love songs. What began as Dan Hill's deeply personal breakthrough eventually became a timeless soft rock anthem, proving that great songs can take on new meaning every time they're sung.

Andy Cohen Fights Back Tears Honoring 'WWHL' Producer Kyra Samson After Her Death at 28

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:41am

Andy Cohen struggled to hold back tears during an emotional Watch What Happens Livetribute to producer Kyra Samson, the daughter of former Miami Marlins president David Samson, who died at 28.

On June 24, David announced that his daughter had died following a nine-month battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. During the June 26 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Cohen took a moment to honor Kyra, who was beloved by her colleagues.

"This is hard for me to get through, but on Tuesday night, our beloved former production manager Kyra Samson passed away from brain cancer," Cohen said, adding, "She was only 28."

View this post on Instagram

Cohen continued, his voice shaking as he fought back tears. "During her four wonderful years with us, Kyra was known for her sweet smile and gentle demeanor, but she could also be a small but mighty enforcer. To see Kyra on a bullhorn, corralling massive crowds at BravoCon was truly a sight to behold. She's going to be terribly missed by all of us here and no doubt by everyone who was lucky enough to know her. I hope you'll join us in honoring her legacy by donating to The Kyra Fund , which will help provide urgently needed research for people with glioblastomas and hopefully help future Kyras out there...we are sending all of our prayers and love to her family and friends."

The Watch What Happens LiveInstagram tribute was quickly flooded with messages of support from fans and Bravolebrities, including Shannon Beador from The Real Housewives of Orange County and Luann de Lesseps from The Real Housewives of New York City. Journalist Katie Couric also commented, "This is so sad Andy. So unfair."

One former Watch What Happens Live staffer wrote, "Kyra was tiny but mighty, and I was lucky enough to work with her for a short while. My condolences go out to her family. Life is truly too short," while countless fans shared their own condolences, with many opening up about loved ones who had also battled brain cancer.

Earlier that day, Kyra's best friend shared a moving Instagram tribute, calling her "my favorite person to be around" and writing that Kyra "fought so hard, but she never once lost her spirit and her spark."

1989 Megahit Cher Refused to Sing, Then It Became a Pop Music Classic

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:31am

It may be hard to imagine now, but Cherinitially had no interest in recording one of her most beloved hits.

When she was presented with the 1989 Diane Warren-penned "If I Could Turn Back Time," the singer and Oscar-winning actress wasn't interested in the song. According to Warren, the icon was very vocal in her refusal to record it.

Warren told The Hollywood Reporter,  “The song she really hated was ‘If I Could Turn Back Time.’ But I held her leg down during a session and said, ‘You have to record it!’“

Cher had a NSFW response to Warren's actions, followed by "You’re hurting my leg! OK, I’ll try it.”

Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

However, once Cher sang the song, Warren knew she'd changed her mind. She recalled the singer giving her a look that seemed to say, "You were right."

Warren added, "If you look at Cher’s song history, she’s not always the best judge of her own material. I mean, she hated ‘I Got You, Babe.’“

Additionally, Warren told Rolling Stone that she offered to pay for the recording session. “I go, ‘Look, I’ll pay for the tracks. ‘If it doesn’t work, then it’s all my cost.’”

"If I Could Turn Back Time" hailed from Cher's nineteenth studio album, Heart of Stone (1989). It was the album's lead single and a No. 3 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, remaining on the chart for an astonishing 23 weeks in total.

The song marked a major comeback for Cher's music career, which had taken a backseat as she pursued acting. By the late 1980s, she had already established herself as a respected actress with a string of critically acclaimed film performances.

During the decade, Cher earned praise for roles that showcased her dramatic range. She appeared in Silkwood (1983), earning her first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, before starring in Mask (1985).

Her acting success reached new heights in 1987 with starring roles in The Witches of Eastwick, Suspect, and Moonstruck. Her performance in Moonstruck earned Cher the Academy Award for Best Actress, cementing her place as one of Hollywood's most accomplished performers.

While her film career was thriving, her music had largely taken a backseat until the release of "If I Could Turn Back Time," which reminded audiences that she remained a pop powerhouse as well. Ironically, the song she was so reluctant to record became the hit that reignited her music career and cemented its place among her greatest classics.

8 Jobs That Were Made for Retirees — Flexible, Low-Stress, and No Degree Required

Fri, 06/26/2026 - 5:21am

Picking up a side job in your retirement may be necessary, but not always for extra cash. Whether you’re looking to supplement your income or give your routine more structure, having a side job in retirement should be enjoyable. Many employers are actually seeking out seasoned workers, no degrees required, to add insight and experience to their teams.

Returning To Work

A survey conducted this year by AARP found that 7% of retirees surveyed had returned to the workforce. For many, the motivation was financial: 48% of those returning did so to increase their monthly income. Still, 15% of those returning to work did so simply because they were bored.

Whatever the reason, making the decision to “unretire,” as AARP calls it, should afford you the opportunity to do something you want rather than something you need. No matter your previous experience or education, there are some jobs out there that are just begging for retirees to take them.

Tutor/Academic Coach

This job isn’t physically challenging, so it’s easier to maintain in the long term.

In 2024, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported the average pay as $19.27/hr, but it’s likely more now.

You don’t need to have been a teacher or educator to tutor. Anyone with any type of specialty can tutor or consult in a field where they have experience.

School Bus Driver

If you’re an early riser or looking for work part of the year, driving a bus may fit nicely into your schedule.

The BLS lists the median national wage at $21.74/hr, but it will vary by region.

You’ll likely need an additional license to drive a school bus, so check whether the district covers it or if you'll have to pay out of pocket.

Remote Customer Service Rep

Are you computer savvy? If you want to leverage that into extra cash, look for a remote customer service position that lets you work part-time from home.

The BLS median wage for remote customer service workers is $20.92/hr.

Invest in a headset with a microphone so you aren’t getting a stiff neck holding your phone to your neck.

Pet or Home Sitter

You could stick to your own town or agree to travel. Many people afford vacations by agreeing to watch another person’s pets or property while they travel.

BLS lists the 2024 median pay at $16.28/hr, but it’s likely higher now.

Dog Walker

This is a little more physical, but perfect for anyone wanting more exercise in their routine.

This is the same statistic as a pet sitter, with the BLS listing the 2024 median pay at $16.28/hr.

Check your region to see what the average price is for a dog walker. Metro areas can charge more for the service, and apps like Wag or Rover can help you find customers.

Tour Guide or Museum Docent

This is a low-stress job that lets you interact with many people and share your knowledge.

The 2024 median income listed on the BLS site is $17.63/hr, but it will likely vary widely by area or specialty.

You may be required to get clearances, especially if the facility serves schools or groups with children. Check to see if that’s paid by the business or if you’ll be required to purchase it yourself.

Tax Preparer

This is something you can do independently or through a tax preparation service.

The mean average wage according to the BLS is $27.96/hr.

Tax preparation is very seasonal, so this is perfect for someone who doesn’t want to work year-round but may be saving up for a big purchase, like a trip.

Library Assistant
