Macy's Has a Pair of 'Striking' Mother-of-Pearl Earrings on Sale for $10 That 'Add Elegance to Any Outfit'

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 4:00pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

As the weather warms up and layers start to disappear, accessories often take center stage. Jewelry becomes more than just a finishing touch and starts to shape the entire look. This season, unique shapes and textured materials are especially popular, and the right pair of earrings can instantly elevate an outfit.

If you’re looking for a stylish option that won’t break the bank, the Style & Co Mother-of-Pearl Drop Earrings are a great pick. Right now they’re 70% off at Macy’s, bringing the price down from $35 to just $10.

The earrings feature a drop length of about 1.8 inches and are set in gold-tone mixed metal. They’re finished with epoxy mother-of-pearl accents that create a soft, luminous effect. A simple post-back closure helps keep them secure and comfortable for everyday wear.

One standout detail is the decorative toggle-style hardware. The gold-tone T-bar and ring design adds a modern touch that feels both stylish and distinctive. It gives the earrings a bit more personality than traditional drop styles.

The epoxy mother-of-pearl also adds a shimmering, iridescent finish. It reflects light beautifully and creates an organic yet high-end look. At the same time, the material is durable and relatively low-maintenance compared to natural mother-of-pearl.

When it comes to styling, these earrings can easily become the focal point of an outfit. Because they already make a statement, it’s best to keep other jewelry minimal. A delicate gold chain works well, while chunky necklaces can compete with the look.

They also pair nicely with simple hair and makeup. A sleek low bun or hair tucked behind the ears helps the earrings stand out. For makeup, a fresh, dewy finish with a soft highlight complements the pearlescent shine.

The earrings also make a thoughtful gift since the design feels unique while still matching many styles. With Mother’s Day around the corner, they’re a budget-friendly option that still feels special. One shopper said they “add elegance to any outfit,” writing, “These lovely earrings are lightweight and striking.” Another described them as “beautiful,” noting that they “go well with every style.”

Savannah Guthrie’s Mom: Retired FBI Agent Says Investigators Are 'On to Something Big'

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 3:51pm

Weeks into the search for Nancy Guthrie, a retired FBI agent believes investigators may be quietly closing in on an important lead. Speaking to Megyn Kelly, former agent Maureen O'Connell said authorities could already have a strong idea of what happened—even if they haven't shared this information with the public.

While discussing Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos' recent comments about Guthrie, 84, being "targeted" (though he cautions that he's not "100% sure" of that), O'Connell agreed with Kelly that if Nanos' statement is true, it's a "huge development."

"Those investigators know so much more than we do," O'Connell told Kelly. "And they're on to something. They're on to something big… they just may be having a hard time proving it. But if you look at the Kouri Richins case, that took, what? Over a year and several months before she got arrested...before they were able to really build a case."

"And building a case is like building a cage: You're doing it link by link by link," O'Connell continued, explaining that she believes authorities may be watching from a distance, hoping that the suspect trips up.

"They could have another legitimate ransom note for all we know. And, if it went straight to the FBI, we wouldn't know about it," she added.

Now six weeks into the investigation, authorities have not publicly identified a person of interest. Despite several rumors circulating online, authorities have not publicly identified a person of interest in the case. Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

Simone Biles Is Celebrating 29 in the Best Way — and Her Bikini Photos Prove It

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 3:46pm

Simone Biles rang in her 29th birthday with plenty of celebrations.

The most decorated gymnast in history turned 29 on March 14, giving fans a glimpse into her big day.

Taking to Instagram, the Olympian celebrated in the best way possible—and her bikini photos on a yacht are proof of that.

She showed off her toned physique in a black bikini top, cutoff denim jeans and a sheer cover-up, opting for a makeup-free look. She posed in front of a festive display of balloons spelling out “happy” and “Simone.”

As for accessories, she rocked silver rings, a hand chain, a necklace and hoops.

Other photos in the carousel captured her relaxing on a yacht, where she playfully flashed a kissy-face pose at the camera.

Elsewhere in the photo dump, Biles glammed it up for a night on the town, with one look featuring a striking brown leather mini dress, while a second showed off a softer side with a buttery yellow silk dress.

"this is 29 🌷," she simply captioned the photo, which garned a flirty response from her husband, Jonathan Owens, who wrote, "And more beautiful than ever 💜🤞🏽."

DWTS pro Sasha Farber left a series of party emojis, as others couldn't get over her stunning looks, writing, "29 NEVVVVVA LOOKS so GOOD," "you looks SOOOOOOOOO beautiful" and "twenty nine & fine!!!"

With so much speculation about her appearance in recent years, the 11-time Olympic medal–winning gymnast opened up about the procedures she's had done in Oct. 2025, challenging fans to guess which "three plastic surgeries" she's had done.

"Two of them you would never be able to tell,” she teased in the video, adding in the caption, “Take your guesses.”

She then followed up with a candid post about her transformation, showing off her breast augmentation results, later explaining that she got 310cc “extra filled silicone” implants with a “high profile" done "under the muscles" to attain a natural look.

Biles further elaborated that it was the best choice for her frame, as she's 4-foot-8 and has "broad shoulders."

As for what her upcoming year looks like, Biles will likely continue to turn heads with her game-day fits, as she did this past NFL season, but it won't be while attending Chicago Bears games.

Instead, the gymnast is headed to Indianapolis, IN, after her husband agreed to a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

And Biles was nothing but supportive of the NFL safety, sharing the NFL's post announcing the transfer and writing of the move, “so proud of you baby 🤍 Indy, here we come."

The One Thing You Should Never Do Immediately After Waking up if You Have High Blood Pressure

Tue, 03/17/2026 - 3:25pm

If you have high blood pressure, you likely know some precautions to take. Lower your salt intake, get good sleep, engage in exercise and take doctor-prescribed medications, which can all work to lower your blood pressure.

Dr. Tariqshah Syed, MD, Chief of Cardiology at Holy Name Medical Center, says that blood pressure is “the actual pressure in the arteries that deliver blood from the heart to the body.” He further explains that systolic blood pressure, or the top number, is when the heart is pumping blood into the body, and diastolic blood pressure, or the bottom number, refers to blood pressure after the heart stops pumping into the body, and the pressure is maintained from the recoil in the arteries.

Normal blood pressure for adults is typically 120/80. Hypertension Stage 1, as it’s called, is 130 – 139/80 – 89 and Stage 2 is >140/>90. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly half of adults have high blood pressure.

If you’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure, you probably know about all the lifestyle tweaks you should be making. But did you know that there’s something you should avoid doing as soon as you wake up? As it turns out, this action can create an adverse reaction and cause symptoms related to this chronic condition.

The One Thing You Should Never Do After Waking up if You Have High Blood Pressure

Menhel Kinno, MD, MPH, a cardiologist at the Rush University System for Health, says that if you have high blood pressure, avoid jumping straight out of bed upon waking, especially if you are taking antihypertensive medications.

“Instead, rise gradually by sitting on the edge of the bed for a minute or two first, to prevent dizziness, lightheadedness or even fainting,” he advises. “These symptoms are caused by a temporary drop in blood pressure from impaired venous return—that means less blood is flowing back to your heart than usual.”

Other Things To Avoid Immediately After Waking Up

In addition to getting up slowly instead of instantaneously hopping out of bed, there are other things you should avoid doing as soon as you wake up.

Dr. Kinno says that those with high blood pressure shouldn’t dive into vigorous physical activities after waking. This can include intense running, heavy weightlifting, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or other types of strenuous workouts.

“Blood pressure rises sharply upon awakening due to circadian rhythms, increased sympathetic activity and hormonal shifts,” Dr. Kinno explains. “This natural morning blood pressure surge can amplify cardiovascular stress, potentially raising the risk of heart strain, arrhythmias or other events, especially in those with uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease history or certain medications.”

That’s why, apart from sitting up gradually, Dr. Kinno recommends getting hydrated, taking any medications and then after 30 to 60 minutes, starting with light movement, such as gentle stretching or a slow walk.

“Save more vigorous exercise for later in the day when your body is better prepared and your blood pressure has stabilized,” he says.

Also, Dr. Kinno suggests that you should work with your doctor to customize an exercise regimen that’s tailored to you and your blood pressure needs.

“Consult your doctor to personalize the timing and intensity of your exercise routine, because regular moderate aerobic activity, spread throughout the week, remains highly beneficial overall for managing hypertension and reducing long-term risks,” he says.

In general, Dr. Syed says that elevated blood pressure doesn’t typically lead to any symptoms unless it’s extremely elevated, and the same goes for low blood pressure. If you fall within either of these categories, be sure to take extra care to go slow when you wake up.

“A lot of the time, patients would not seek medical attention as there are no symptoms, but blood pressure could cause organ damage over time, and thus, it is important to consult with your doctor and get it treated regularly,” he says.
