Back in the days, it was fairly common industry practice for leading men to want to appear taller than they actually were.

The solution? A pair of convincing lifts on the bottom of their shoes to help them stand a few inches over their on-screen cast members.

Using this method, actors like Burt Reynolds managed to cement themselves as larger-than-life cinematic giants from both a literal and a metaphorical standpoint.

Reflecting on her brief working relationship with Reynolds on the 1980 crime film Rough Cut, Golden Globe-nominated actress Lesley-Anne Down recently told Entertainment Weekly all about Reynolds’ penchant for wearing his lifts.

“I remember going for a walk, because we were in London when we were doing that film,” Down told EW. “I said, ‘Don’t put those on,’” referring to Reynolds’ boots that gave him a boost of a few inches. “I said, ‘No! Your feet will hurt so badly.’”

In the end, Reynolds relented, opting to go for a walk with Down without his signature height-boosting shoes.

“It was the first time I think I’d ever seen him and gone out and walked around or whatever when he was like normal height,” Down recalled. “He wasn’t a short man, but he wanted that extra, I guess, four inches or so.”

As Down saw it, height was one of the three biggest things Reynolds always had in the back of his mind, right next to his hair and another extremely sensitive part of his body.

“Burt was so funny, wasn’t he?” Down said. “Burt was just absolutely obsessed with three things: top, bottom, and middle. He was absolutely obsessed with all those weaves that he had in his head, and he was obsessed with the things that he put in his shoes to make him taller, and he was obsessed with his crotch.”

As one of the most influential songwriters of her generation, it’s safe to Joni Mitchell knows a thing or two about quality when it comes to music and writing.

Not only that, but Mitchell also expressed uncertainty over Cobain’s legacy as a larger-than-life figure in pop culture at the time, owing to the fact that he took his own life in 1994.

“Everybody says Kurt Cobain was a great writer. I don’t see it,” Mitchell bluntly told the outlet. “Why is he a hero? Whining and killing yourself – I fail to see the heroism in that.”

Suffering from both physical and mental health struggles throughout his life, Cobain was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 8, 1994, at the age of 27-years-old. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, with Rolling Stone later including him on their list of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.

CNN, MS Now, and Politico are all suing the Trump Administration after the White House revoked their press credentials, with President Donald Trump banning them from covering him or his staff on the premises.

The outlets said that this is a “blatant violation” of the First Amendment, adding that the Constitution “does not allow a president or any other government official to deprive the press of their First Amendment rights and liberty and property interests with no notice or process based solely on his dislike of the content of their reporting,” per the Associated Press.

The lawsuit was filed two days after reporters were banned, with their entry cards being disabled on Saturday, Sept. 19. CNN, which was supposed to cover Trump’s trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, was removed from its pool duties. The TV pool said there would not be any replacement coverage, with other networks suspending their own pool coverage indefinitely.

Other outlets also showed solidarity with CNN, MS Now, and Politico, as the Associated Press, The Washington Post, and The New York Times made the decision not to publish photographs from presidential events on Monday.

In a video shared on X by the White House, Trump said that the reporting by the three outlets is “just biased news.”

“I think that these outlets have an obligation to be fair, and if they’re fake news, I really think I have an obligation not to allow them,” he added.

The account also posted a screenshot of a post by Trump on Truth Social in which he says that they are “not instituting an assault on the Free Press.”

“It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America,” he wrote. “It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated, and totally out of control.”

Every musician has their personal favorite songs from their discography, most especially when it comes to a band as universally beloved and critically successful as the iconic rock band, the Rolling Stones.

Whether reflecting on their timeless work on “Sympathy for the Devil” or early hits like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” it’s clear that the Stones have no shortage of popular songs that make up their 60-year body of work.

Interestingly, one successful ballad the Stones weren’t a big fan of could be found with their mid ’60s single, “As Tears Go By.”

Co-written by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, “As Tears Go By” was initially recorded by British Invasion singer Marianne Faithfull in 1964, propelling the musician to both the U.K. and Irish singles charts.

One year later, the Stones wound up recording their own version of the song as a single, releasing it in December 1965 in the U.S. and in February 1966 in the United Kingdom.

A folk rock-infused pop song, the Stones’ version of “As Tears Go By” wound up proving incredibly successful, reaching number six on the U.S. Billboard‘s Hot 100 and number one on Canada’s RPM Top Singles.

In spite of its obvious popularity among listeners, however, neither Richards nor Jagger were very big fans of the song, believing it a “crap” ballad that stood in stark contrast to the hard rock aesthetic the Stones were striving for.

“We thought, what a terrible piece of tripe. We came out and played it to Andrew [Oldham], and he said ‘It’s a hit,'” Richards wrote in his memoir, Life. “We actually sold this stuff, and it actually made money. Mick and I were thinking, this is money for old rope.”

In 2002, Jagger flatly derided the song, saying, “It was pop, and we didn’t record it (initially) because it was crap. We had a successful crap ballad.”

Over the years, however, Jagger slowly came to appreciate the song, saying, “I can say now it’s a wonderful tune, but we didn’t think it was that great at the time.”

Shemar Moore is getting candid about exiting his popular TV series S.W.A.T. after eight seasons, calling the exit “hard” in a new interview with People magazine.

As fans might recall, the former Criminal Minds star spent eight seasons headling CBS’s police procedural series, S.W.A.T., appearing the character of Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson Jr. from 2017 until 2025.

While the original series concluded at the network last year, Moore is set to return for S.W.A.T.‘s upcoming sequel series, S.W.A.T. Exiles, on Starz this coming September 25.

Reflecting on his stint on the show coming to a close, Moore frankly admitted, “I’ll be honest, it was hard. You know, it’s hard to say goodbye. But in life, and especially in Hollywood, nothing lasts forever.”

“We spent eight years together,” Moore added. “I’ve continued on as Hondo, and there’s been some changes. You’re gonna meet a new group of people.”

As hard as it was to see so much change suddenly come about, Moore nevertheless said that he’s excited to see what new stories await for his character and the rest of his S.W.A.T. team members moving forward at Exiles.

“What’s crazy is this franchise of S.W.A.T. and Shemar Moore’s Hondo — this train keeps on cooking,” Moore continued. “And so, it was hard to say goodbye.”

As for what viewers might expect of the new Starz series, Moore mentioned that the new iteration of S.W.A.T. will be far darker and grittier than fans last saw on CBS. However, he was also quick to add that the series’ tone remains fundamentally similar to the original series.

“When you see this show, it’s darker, it’s grittier,” Moore said. “It looks darker, it feels darker, it’s grittier — the tone — but it’s still S.W.A.T.”

“It’s still Hondo, but now you’re gonna see a more human element of perseverance and finding purpose,” Moore added. “He doesn’t feel like he has much purpose, but the purpose that he does find is being the best version of himself for his daughter.”

A costume-less (and pregnant!) Rachel goes hog wild while handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. When she runs out, she has to resort to money, until she runs out of that, too. It’s a funny plot point that could really only happen to the oft-ditzy Rachel.

The episode also features cameos from Sean Penn (playing Ursula’s fiancé, Eric) and a young Emily Osment. It actually aired a day after Halloween on November 1, 2001, in its primetime 7 p.m. CT timeslot on Thursdays on NBC.

In 2024, Entertainment Weekly rounded up their 30 picks of the best Halloween episodes in television history, and this one made the cut. It’s definitely one to watch if you love Halloween and reminiscing over a sitcom laugh track.

Bob Dylan‘s music career spans more than 60 years, but he found stardom not long after he first started in the 1960s. He was already quite well-respected as a singer-songwriter by 1964, and so when his fourth studio album, Another Side of Bob Dylan, came out, it did quite well as expected, even if some fans weren’t very happy with Dylan’s new sound.

Despite any criticism of the music, Another Side of Bob Dylan was a huge success, peaking at No. 8 in the U.K. and No. 43 in the U.S. It was also certified gold. There were no official singles for the record.

The album included 11 songs written by Dylan, including the track “My Back Pages,” which was about a disillusioned view of life. Significant lyrics include, “Ah, but I was so much older then/ I’m younger than that now.”

Fans weren’t too excited about the creative pivot Dylan made with this album, which is still debated today. But even so early in Dylan’s career and with the criticism surrounding this record, the singer-songwriter’s music was still very influential.

But only a few years after it was first released on Dylan’s album, “My Back Pages” found new life thanks to an iconic 1960s rock band, the Byrds. They released a cover of Dylan’s song as a single on their fourth album, Younger Than Yesterday, in early 1967, bringing a song known for its divisive lyrics to mainstream popularity.

The Byrds’ version was a major success, peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 30. It ended up being the band’s last single to break into the Top 40 in the U.S. Even decades later, the Byrds’ version is much-loved by music fans and included in some lists of the “Greatest Songs of the 1960s.”

This wasn’t the Byrds’ first cover of a Dylan song either, as they previously released their own versions of “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “All I Really Want to Do,” and “Chimes of Freedom.” In fact, “Mr. Tambourine Man” was the Byrds’ debut single, and like “My Back Pages,” the rock band was able to turn around and make their version arguably more popular than the original.

These days, fans continue to debate whether Dylan or the Byrds made the better version of some of the former’s songs. But there’s no denying that the Byrds’ version of “My Back Pages” was a surprising hit to come out in the late 1960s.

Hunter Biden turned Presley Gerber‘s untimely and tragic death into a moment to reach out to others battling addiction, sharing his own experience with recovery and a simple, urgent message — keep asking for help.

Hunter shared his thoughts Monday, September 21, one day after the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber died while staying at a rehabilitation facility, as confirmed by TMZ.

What Did Hunter Biden Say About Presley Gerber?

Hunter, 56, is the son of former President Joe Biden. He has previously spoken about his own history of addiction and marked seven years of sobriety earlier this year.

He clarified that even he had never met Presley but felt connected to his public struggle with addiction. “I didn’t know Presley Gerber. But I was rooting for him from afar, the way you root for anyone you recognize battling the same demons,” he wrote on X. 

“Addiction is a disease that knows no bounds. It doesn’t care who your parents are, how much money you have, how loved you are, or how hard you’re trying. And he was trying. Presley died Sunday, September 20, at age 27 while staying at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, as reported by TMZ.  The rep for the Gerber-Crawfold family told the outlet “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

Police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose, though an official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined. 

The medical examiner has deferred a finding pending additional testing, according to People. Presley had spoken publicly about addiction and mental health before his death, including through his brave “Mental Health Mondays” posts.

Cindy Crawford once spoke movingly about watching her own parents survive the loss of a child, her younger brother Jeff, never imagining she would one day face that same kind of grief herself.

Crawford, 60, was just 8 when her younger brother was battling leukemia, as reported by People. “I was 8, my older sister would have been 10. My younger sister would have been 4 and Jeff was like 2, turning 3 when he got diagnosed, and then he was sick for two years,” she recalled, as per Fox News. The model said the family knew Jeff was ill but, as children, she and her sisters did not fully understand the severity of what was happening.

Crawford remembered how differently her mother and father coped after losing their son. “We knew [Jeff] was sick, but we didn’t really know what was going on,” she said.

Garth Brooks Is Ending His TuneIn Partnership

The partnership ends after Stingray Group Inc. acquired TuneIn. The acquisition was completed in December 2025, with Stingray taking ownership of the audio-streaming platform.

Brooks addressed the end of the partnership in a statement, thanking TuneIn and Stingray for their work over the past three years.

“The Stingray family has been fantastic in the transition along with TuneIn’s people,” Brooks said. “We couldn’t be happier with the three years we have spent with them and wish them well on their future endeavors and hope we cross paths in the future.”

Two Garth Brooks Radio Stations Are Signing Off

As part of the transition, The Garth Channel and Tailgate Radio will sign off on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The BIG 615, meanwhile, will continue broadcasting on TuneIn through the end of 2026. But there’s an important catch: The station will no longer be affiliated with Brooks or his Sevens Radio Network.

The change marks the end of a three-year venture that gave Brooks a chance to expand his presence beyond the concert stage and reach a global radio audience.

Garth Brooks’ Radio Future Is Still Taking Shape

While this particular partnership is ending, Brooks isn’t walking away from radio or multimedia entirely.

The announcement says more information about his future multimedia and radio broadcast initiatives will be revealed in the coming months.

The timing also comes during a particularly busy period for Brooks. He recently returned to traditional indoor arenas with his Blame It All on My Roots Tour, and just last week he shared an emotional message with fans about an experience he said he had never felt during decades of performing.

“In all my years, I have never ‘felt’ what I’ve been feeling this year in the live arena. There is a joy, there are tears, and both seem to be a surprise to those feeling it,” he wrote in an open letter.

He added, “I wonder if this is what ‘unity’ feels like? We bring our differences into the room; we always have, but yet, in a heartbeat, all voices are singing the same words. Is this what ‘united’ feels like? Is this what happens if we ALL sing together?”

For now, fans have just hours left to hear The Garth Channel and Tailgate Radio before both stations go off the air.

And while The BIG 615 will continue through the end of the year, the Garth Brooks era on TuneIn is coming to an end.

Dolly Parton never shied away from speaking out about some of the more meaningful songs that held sentimental value for her.

While the late singer was always asked what some of her personal favorite songs that she wrote were, the country music icon also freely spoke about other songs that helped shape her appreciation for the music medium.

In fact, one notable example took the form of an early Beatles hit that Parton said forever changed her life, not to mention her entire view on music itself.

As Parton once told Entertainment Weekly, Parton heard the Beatles’ 1963 single “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and fell in love with the song’s more emotionally charged sybject matter.

“I loved all kinds of songs, and I grew up singin’ all sorts of songs, but the first time I ever remember totally being jarred and feelin’ all kinds of emotions was when that song came out,” Parton said of the Beatles’ single. “I couldn’t get enough of it.”

Initially recorded in October 1963, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” quickly became one of the Beatles’ biggest successes up to that point in time.

A fast-paced rock/pop song, the song is also notable for becoming the band’s first American number-one hit, climbing to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart by February 1, 1964, remaining there for seven weeks before being topped by the Beatles’ previous single, “She Loves You.”

At the time, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” became the Beatles’ best-selling single across the globe, selling more than 12 million copies worldwide. Decades later, Billboard included the song as the 48th biggest hit of all time on the magazine’s Hot 100, helping secure the Beatles’ transition from the United Kingdom to international rock icons by the mid 1960s.

The season 4 finale of The Big Bang Theory features one of the most controversial storylines in the CBS show’s 12-season run.

In the Big Bang Theory episode, which aired in May 2011, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) stumble out of his bedroom, disheveled, suggesting they had been intimate. One of the comedy’s showrunners, Steve Molaro, revealed that he, like many fans, took issue with Raj and Penny’s unexpected storyline during a recent appearance on The Big Bang Theory Podcast. According to Molaro, the scene wasn’t in the episode’s original script. He theorized that the moment was added as an enticing cliffhanger.

“It felt to me just a little bit like maybe this was a gratuitous ending to get a rise out of the viewers at the expense of who these characters are at this point in the series. And, ‘Well, this is exciting. Let’s shake it up and do this and see what happens.’ And at the time, I was not terribly comfortable with that,” said Molaro during the September 2026 podcast interview.

Molaro said that he did voice his discomfort about the storyline, which he felt was out of character for Raj and Penny. As fans are aware, Penny’s main love interest on the show was Raj’s close friend and colleague, Leonard (Johnny Galecki).

“I probably said something along the lines of, ‘I don’t feel great about this. Can we think about this? Can we talk about this before we commit to this? This is a big move. This is going to be messy or whatever,'” said Molaro.

Molaro then said his concern had encouraged the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, to go forward with the plot.

“It seemed that the more I voiced my concern, I think Chuck took that understandably, took that as a sign. ‘Well, if you’re having this many feelings, so will the audience. Great.’ Whether those feelings were good or not, you know, better than them being bored. This is a sign that feelings will be had. So maybe that’s a good sign, even though I was like, ‘No, let’s not. Let’s take five minutes and think about what else could happen here,'” said Molaro during the podcast interview.

In addition, Molaro said he was able to convince Lorre that the show’s fifth season should clarify that Raj and Penny didn’t exactly have a romantic night together.

“I remember the beginning of the season going to Chuck’s office alone and just being like, ‘Look, I really don’t feel great about this ending, and we have a window. We don’t know what happened.’ And he was just like, ‘This again. Oh my god, why are you being such a baby?’ I think was the attitude,” said Molaro. “But he was certainly willing, wanted to hear me out, right? And I said, you know, ‘We don’t know what happened. Maybe they didn’t sleep together. Maybe it was over like so fast it doesn’t even count.’ And he finally relented. And he was the one that said, ‘Okay, well, if you really want to undo this, I would suggest that he was putting on the condom. And doing that is where it ended.’ And that was really funny to me.”

There’s a moment that happens to a lot of women on GLP-1 medications that is hard to prepare for. Sure, your clothes are looser and you hopefully feel healthier. But then you catch yourself in a certain light and think, ‘Why does my face look tired? Are my cheeks a little flatter? Is my jaw a little less defined? Is the skin doing something around the eyes that it wasn’t doing six months ago?’ You worked hard for this weight loss, and somehow it doesn’t look exactly the way you imagined.

Fortunately, that’s not a reason to stop your medication (if you don’t want to). Every expert in this piece says some version of that, so let’s get it out of the way now. GLP-1 drugs offer real health benefits, and no one should let skin concerns override what their doctor has recommended for their metabolic or cardiovascular health.

But the skin changes are real too, and after 50 specifically, they tend to be more pronounced and more persistent than they would be at 35.

The combination of age-related collagen decline, hormonal shifts from menopause and the rapid volume loss that GLP-1 medications can accelerate creates a specific set of skin challenges that deserve a real conversation—not just reassurance.

Consider this that conversation. We talked to five dermatologists and plastic surgeons—Dr. Chang Son, board-certified dermatologist; Dr. Danny Guo, cosmetic dermatologist; Dr. Michael Tassavor of MDCS Dermatology; Dr. Marie Jhin, Chief Medical Officer and board-certified dermatologist; and Dr. Johnny Franco, board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Austin Plastic Surgeon—about what’s actually happening to skin during GLP-1-driven weight loss after 50 and what you can do about it starting today.

How Do GLP-1 Drugs Affect the Skin After 50?

Well, first, the medication itself isn’t directly aging your skin. Dr. Tassavor says that skin cells have receptors for GLP-1, and early research suggests these drugs may actually support skin repair. What people are really experiencing is a volume problem.

The face has fat pads that keep skin looking full and lifted. When those shrink quickly, the skin doesn’t shrink with them, which is where hollow cheeks, deeper folds, crepey texture and that persistent tired look come from.

The reason it hits harder after 50 comes down to what’s already there—or more accurately, what isn’t. “When GLP-1 causes volume loss in an older individual, their skin will not have the collagen and elastin reserves to respond like a 30 year old’s skin,” Dr. Guo tells Parade. “The skin is more likely to remain loose after weight loss and facial hollowing is more likely to persist.”

Dr. Jhin adds that menopause-related hormonal changes contribute to additional dryness and loss of elasticity on top of the weight-loss effects, making the combination particularly significant for women in this age group.

Some patients also notice dryness, irritation or hair shedding during major weight loss.

Dr. Jhin shares that it’s often a temporary response to physical stress or inadequate nutrition, not a permanent side effect. But it’s worth discussing with a provider rather than waiting it out alone.

Why Rapid Weight Loss Accelerates Collagen Loss and Skin Sagging in Women Over 50

Menopause alone costs roughly 2% of skin collagen per year, and up to 30% in the first five years after the last period. “Losing 40 pounds looks completely different at 35 than it does at 60,” says Dr. Tassavor. Estrogen keeps skin thick, hydrated and elastic, so when it drops, you’re starting the GLP-1 journey with much less cushion than you had a decade ago.

What’s more, Dr. Guo points out that reduced appetite on GLP-1 medications frequently leads to insufficient protein intake, which compromises the body’s ability to produce structural proteins like collagen.

If you’re eating less, your skin may not be getting what it needs to maintain itself—let alone rebuild. Dr. Jhin adds that GLP-1 medications don’t directly destroy collagen. What they do is remove the volume and support underneath the skin very quickly, revealing laxity that was already developing. The distinction matters because it means prevention and proactive support are far more powerful than trying to reverse damage after the fact.

The Active Skincare Ingredients Dermatologists Recommend While on a GLP-1

The goal is to both build collagen and protect the skin barrier. The ingredients with the best research behind them are retinoids, vitamin C, peptides, ceramides and hyaluronic acid—and the order in which you reach for them depends on your skin’s current state.

Retinoids are the consistent first recommendation for collagen stimulation. Dr. Tassavor suggests starting slow—maybe twice a week—because skin tends to become more easily irritated during weight loss.

Dr. Jhin adds that if the skin starts burning, stinging or peeling, scale back the frequency rather than layering on more products. Vitamin C in the morning supports collagen synthesis and provides antioxidant protection against the oxidative stress that accelerates collagen breakdown.

Daily SPF is an absolute non-negotiable for the same reason—UV exposure is one of the primary drivers of ongoing collagen loss.

For the dryness that GLP-1 medications genuinely do cause, ceramides and hyaluronic acid are the workhorses. Dr. Son specifically points to ceramides and peptides for optimal hydration, noting that certain peptides have also been shown to activate fibroblasts to stimulate collagen production.

For anyone looking for a starting-point product, Dr. Franco recommends Alastin Reform and Repair for its focus on supporting collagen and elastin without requiring a complicated routine.

“Skincare improves skin quality, but no cream replaces volume you’ve lost in your face.” Dr. Tassavor says. The topicals do meaningful work, but they’re not fillers.

Should You Completely Change Your Skincare Routine While Taking a GLP-1?

Nope! The goal is to build on what’s working, not start over with a shelf of products branded specifically for GLP-1 patients. 

Dr. Jhin says to keep the same basic structure—gentle cleanser, fragrance-free moisturizer, SPF every morning—and adapt it as changes appear.

If skin becomes drier or more sensitive during weight loss, reduce the frequency of strong actives and prioritize barrier repair temporarily.

If it’s tolerating the routine well, stay the course and consider adding a richer moisturizer and a retinoid if you’re not already using one. Dr. Guo points out that ideally this adjustment happens before starting GLP-1 treatment, since prevention is meaningfully easier than recovery.

The biggest mistake Dr. Tassavor sees is patients abandoning a good routine for whatever is currently being marketed as the GLP-1 skin solution. The fundamentals of collagen support and barrier repair don’t change because a new category of drug exists.

When To See a Dermatologist About GLP-1 Skin Changes After 50

Earlier than you think, and ideally before the changes happen. “Don’t wait until you’ve lost 40, 50 or 60 pounds and suddenly feel unhappy with your face or body,” says Dr. Franco. The earlier a provider evaluates the skin, the more options exist.

Early collagen stimulation—Sofwave and conservative Sculptra are what he frequently uses in combination—can help prevent or improve changes rather than trying to correct them after they’ve fully set in.

There are also specific signs that warrant a prompt appointment rather than a wait-and-see approach. Dr. Tassavor lists four: any new rash or blistering (several skin reactions have been linked to GLP-1 medications), an injection site that’s painful or spreading, heavy hair shedding that lasts several months and facial hollowing or sagging that’s affecting how you feel about yourself.

“Don’t wait and hope,” he says. “We have real options.” Those options—prescription skincare, microneedling, radiofrequency or laser tightening, collagen-stimulating injectables and fillers—are all more effective when they’re not playing catch-up.

The most-watched episode of Friends ever aired on January 28, 1996, and garnered 52.9 million viewers, and no, it was not the finale.

It was actually “The One After the Super Bowl,” and the double-length episode from Season 2 featured major guest stars such as Brooke Shields, Julia Roberts, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chris Isaak.

It is also the highest-rated Super Bowl lead-out program of all time, and the episode also won the sitcom its first Emmy ever.

In an interview with Gold Derby, the episode’s director Michael Lembeck shared some fun facts about the filming, including Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox’s disdain for Van Damme’s kissing style.

“Having to face the ire of both actresses going, ‘Tell that motherf–ker to get his tongue out of my mouth,’ is hilarious to me now, but at the time it was like, ‘Oh my god, how do I say this to [Van Damme]?'” Lembeck told the outlet. “I was scared of him! He’d gotten into beefs with other people, and I didn’t want to be the one on the receiving end.”

The scene was ultimately not included in the episode, but was added as a deleted scene.

There was also drama behind the scenes with Shields and her then-boyfriend Andre Agassi, who was not pleased with her portrayal of a finger-licking Joey Tribbiani fan.

“I don’t know that he had any sense of the damage he had done,” Lembeck added. “But Brooke was a real pro and wasn’t afraid to try things… The fact that she was able to come back after the incident with Agassi and maintain and raise the comedy level was remarkable.”

Despite the drama, the episode is still one of the most-watched episodes in NBC history, behind the series finales of Cheers (93.5 million) and Seinfeld (76.3 million).

According to The New York Times, Gerber’s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, traced their son’s name to a long-ago dinner with Hollywood music producer David Foster, who was then married to Linda Thompson, Elvis Presley’s former girlfriend.

For those who may not immediately recognize the name, Linda Thompson was a significant figure in Elvis Presley’s personal life.
