On This Day in 1982, 'Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior' Officially Arrives in Theaters: 'Far Ahead of its Time'
On this day 44 years ago, the genre-defining action film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior officially rumbled its way into theaters.
Frequently hailed as one of the best action movies ever made, The Road Warrior formed the second act in director George Miller's critically acclaimed Mad Max series.
Moving past the dystopian setting of the original, Mad Max 2 specifically follows Mel Gibson's title character as he protects an isolated outpost of post-apocalyptic survivors from a marauding band of blood-thirsty raiders.
While the first Mad Max continues to hold up well under a critical lens, many continue to cite The Road Warrior as the superior film in the franchise, existing hand-in-hand with the franchise's later installments, Fury Road and Furiosa.
In addition to its overall contributions to the post-apocalyptic genre, many fans and critics continue to compliment the movie for its one-of-a-kind action sequences, including a sweeping climax pitting trucks, motorcycles and cars together into one explosive combination.
"The Road Warrior is one of the best action movies ever made," one user conclusively wrote on Reddit. "I watch this one over 10 times without a bore. The final truck chase scene was bada**."
"Come out in 1982 and was far ahead of its time," another user agreed. "The story was well done. Best of the Mad Max series."
"Never has a film's vision of the post-nuclear-holocaust world seemed quite as desolate and as brutal, or as action-packed and sometimes as funny as in George Miller's apocalyptic The Road Warrior, an extravagant film fantasy that looks like a sadomasochistic comic book come to life," declared The New York Times upon the movie's initial release.
In more recent years, numerous publications have gone on to include The Road Warrior on their list of the greatest movies ever made, such as Empire, The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly.

Cardiologists Say This Common Nighttime Habit Might Be Weakening Your Heart
For better or worse, our habits are second nature. At bedtime, the ability to slip into a habit without thinking can be helpful—like with brushing your teeth and washing your face, for example. But cardiologists want people to be aware of which nighttime habits are harming their health, too.
"Our nighttime habits play a big role in how well we fall asleep and stay asleep, through affecting our body's natural circadian clock," Dr. Cheng-Han Chen, MD, a board-certified interventional cardiologist and medical director of the Structural Heart Program at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center, tells Parade. "Factors such as screen time and light exposure, specific foods such as caffeine and alcohol and timing of exercise, all will affect the amount and quality of our sleep."
Cardiologists share that people often don't think enough about the importance of sleep for heart health, instead focusing on diet and exercise (which are also vital).
"During sleep, the body rests and repairs the cardiovascular system through lowering blood pressure, reducing stress hormones and inflammation and repairing blood vessels," Dr. Chen says. "We know that poor sleep will increase many cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, obesity and diabetes."
If you're not getting the sleep your heart (and the rest of your body) needs, it's time for a routine audit. Cardiologists warn that this common nighttime habit might be weakening the heart. They also shared tips for creating a bedtime routine that helps you improve your heart health while you sleep.

This Common Nighttime Habit Might Be Weakening Your Heart, Cardiologists Sayseb_ra/Getty Images
Cardiologists warn against sleeping with the TV on, saying it can weaken heart health.
"Sleeping with the TV on can interfere with both falling and staying asleep," explains Dr. Nadim Geloo, MD, a cardiologist and the senior director of medical affairs for Abbott’s structural heart division. "While the TV might initially offer a sense of comfort or background noise, it can actively counteract your body's intricate biological mechanisms designed for optimal sleep, ultimately undermining the quality and restorative power of your rest."
While we often associate phones and tablets with blue light, but TVs emit it, too, especially LCD and LED models.
"The blue light from television causes shifts in the circadian rhythm in the brain," explains Dr. Padma Shenoy, MD, a cardiologist with Manhattan Cardiology and a labfinder.com contributor. "Circadian rhythm is the body's internal clock, which tells us when to fall asleep and when to wake up."
Dr. Geloo adds that when our eyes take in blue light, our bodies begin to suppress the natural sleep-inducing hormone, melatonin. "When melatonin levels are suppressed, your brain mistakenly perceives it as daytime, making it significantly more challenging to feel drowsy and initiate sleep," he says.
Plus, what you watch on TV matters. Bedtime likely is not the time to watch a horror flick or the news, which you can argue are the same thing these days.
"Watching scary or stressful programs on TV right before going to bed could affect the heart by increasing stress hormones such as adrenaline, which can then increase blood pressure and heart rate," Dr. Chen says. "This response will make it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep."
Related: Librarians Are Calling This New Novel the ‘Best Book’ to Read Before Bed
Speaking of staying asleep, Dr. Geloo says that the changing sounds, volume and dialogue on the TV can keep your brain actively engaged even if you're snoozing.
"It [makes] difficult for your mind to disengage and relax when it's constantly attempting to process a stream of information, even at a subconscious level," he reveals. "This leads to more fragmented, less restorative sleep overall."
Dr. Geloo says you'll spend more time in lighter sleep stages and less time in the critical deep and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep stages that your body needs for physical restoration, cognitive repair and memory consolidation.
Your best bet is to remember to shut the TV off before hitting the hay. "Turn off the TV at least 60 minutes before bed to allow your circadian timing to kick in and promote the most restful sleep," Dr. Shenoy advises. "One hour of no screens before bed allows levels of melatonin, the sleep hormone, to rise so that you can transition into restorative sleep."

Why Sleep Matters for Heart HealthSleep is an underrated yet critical piece of the heart-health puzzle, as research consistently shows. Poor sleep is linked to a higher risk for cardiovascular disease and events, including heart failure. Here's what happens to the heart while you sleep well.
- Your blood pressure decreases. When you're in deep, restorative sleep, Dr. Geloo says your blood pressure naturally decreases, an essential process for cardiovascular recovery. Less sleep, lower quality sleep and disturbed sleep can cause consistently elevated blood pressure—even as you rest throughout the night—which strains the heart and blood vessels.
- Your hormones destabilize. Dr. Geloo says that quality sleep can help stabilize hormones that affect heart health, including cortisol (the stress hormone) and ghrelin and leptin (important for appetite regulation). "When these hormones are out of sync due to poor sleep, it can lead to chronic inflammation, unwanted weight gain and insulin resistance, which are all risk factors for heart disease."
- You destress. "A consistently good night's rest also lowers psychological stress, which directly impacts your cardiovascular system," Dr. Geloo says, noting that you can credit less stress to a calmer and happier life—and a healthier heart.

A 3-Step, Heart-Healthy Bedtime RoutineYour bedtime routines can help support better sleep and heart health. Watching TV while you sleep doesn't make the cut in cardiologists' routines (at least not the ones Parade spoke to). Here's what they recommend you do instead to build a heart-friendly bedtime routine.
- Establish a consistent schedule. Dr. Geloo says going to bed and waking up at the same time daily (yes, including weekends) can help regulate your circadian rhythm. As a result, he says you'll significantly improve your quality of rest and lower inflammation and stress hormone production that can weaken the heart over time. You'll also support stable blood pressure.
- Create a no-screens relaxation ritual. Instead of tube time, Dr. Shenoy suggests meditation, deep breathing, reading a book or journaling in the hour before bed. It can calm your nervous system and switch your brain to the 'rest-and-restore' parasympathetic mode that will optimize your sleep quality."
- Forget the nightcap. Dr. Chen suggests avoiding alcohol before bed. While it's a sedative, he and research point out that it can disrupt your sleep quality.

17-Time Champ Joey Chestnut Cleared to Compete at Nathan’s Contest Following Misdemeanor Battery Plea
Joey Chestnut will be back at Coney Island on July 4 to defend his title and look to win another Mustard Belt.
The legendary competitive eater, who has won the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest 17 times, has been granted permission to compete after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge and being placed on probation.
Chestnut was accused of slapping a man on the face during a night out in Indiana, and pleaded guilty on April 20, being sentenced to 180 days of probation in Hamilton County.
“Joey regrets engaging and the interaction being misinterpreted. He strives to always connect in a fun manner with fans. In this case, some inappropriate things were said that Joey reacted to. He’s committed to avoiding being in those situations going forward,” his team told US Weekly after his plea.
A judge permitted him to leave the state to defend his title this summer.
There was also a question about whether he would be allowed to compete, but Richard Shea, the co-founder and president of Major League Eating, cleared all that up.
"This incident did not violate Major League Eating's code of conduct, as it occurred outside any organizational event or activity, and it was addressed by local authorities," Shea said.
And with that, fans are excited to see Chestnut back in action.
"Joey Chestnut is the greatest athlete of our time…. About to see the glizzy champion in full action!" one person shared.
"Joey Chestnut competing in the hot dog eating contest on probation is the most American thing ever," another person wrote.
"The greatest athlete of our generation… about to see GREATNESS!" someone commented.
Chestnut won last year's competition by eating 70½ hot dogs in 10 minutes. He was forced to miss the 2024 contest after Nathan's banned him due to an endorsement deal he signed with a plant-based meat company.
New Netflix Docuseries Revisits Michael Jackson’s Child Molestation Trial
Netflix will be releasing a three-part docuseries titled Michael Jackson: The Verdict, which will follow the legendary musician's 2005 child molestation trial.
“It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson in which he was found not guilty. Yet, to this day, controversy still rages. No cameras were allowed in court, and so the public’s view of the facts at the time were filtered by commentators and presented piecemeal. It was time to take a forensic look at the trial as a whole," the streaming service said in a statement.
"Anyone interested in the Michael Jackson story should feel this documentary gives them a window into what was largely a closed event and a chance to feel closer to what happened," the statement continued.
In the series, there are numerous interviews with people involved in the trial, including some of the jurors, as well as media who were inside the courtroom. It provides a look at both the prosecution and the defense sides.
“The aim was to take the audience inside the proceedings and only speak to eyewitnesses who played a part in those events,” the filmmakers added in the statement.
The widely followed trial saw Jackson charged with multiple counts of child molestation in 2003. It lasted 14 weeks in the Santa Barbara Superior Court, and after deliberating for a week, the jury found the musician not guilty on all 10 felony charges. He was facing more than 20 years in prison.
This new series comes after the biopic "Michael" dominated theaters last month, which told Jackson's story from childhood to becoming one of the most famous pop stars. However, the movie did not touch on the numerous allegations he faced, including this case. Jackson maintained his innocence up until his passing in 2009.
The docuseries will premiere on June 3.

While some reviewers on IKEA.com reported shedding, others said it only occurred in the first few washes and that there were ways to mitigate the fallout.
"Wonderful towels. Very soft and absorbent, thin enough to dry quickly. Inexpensive enough to have several of each color. They do tend to shed quite a bit when new, so running them through the washer and dryer a few times will help reduce the shedding. (Use baking soda in the washer which also helps reduce shedding.) Otherwise these are perfect towels for me and add nice color to my otherwise drab bathroom," said one fan in a five-star review on IKEA.com.
You can find these new bath towels, bath sheets and hand towels at select IKEA stores and on IKEA.com.

Prime Video Quietly Renewed ‘Off Campus’ Before Season 1 Even Premiered
Few TV genres have had the hot streak as of late as the ice-rink romance, from HBO Max’s steamy queer hit Heated Rivalry to Netflix’s sweet teen drama Finding Her Edge to, most recently, Prime Video’s college-set series Off Campus. Like its predecessors, the latter show is a streaming adaptation of a popular book series, in this case Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Briar University books, which follow the romantic connections and athletic antics of the school’s star hockey players and the women they love.
Off Campus season one focused on the fake-dating arrangement between music major Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and star center Garrett Graham (Belmont Carmeli); Hannah wanted to impress her crush Justin Kohl (Josh Heuston) and in return Garrett would get some much-needed tutoring from her to retain his hockey-captain status. However, as usually happens in TV romances, their romantic scheme turned into real-deal feelings.
And based on both the viewership numbers (the Amazon series reportedly drew nearly a million viewers in its first three days) and critical response (Off Campus currently holds a stellar 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes), it’s not surprising the fans are already wondering up future chapters of the hockey romance series. Here’s everything we know so far about Off Campus season 2.
Will there be an ‘Off Campus’ season 2?Yes, Prime Video officially greenlit Off Campus for a sophomore season in February 2026, well before season one premiered on the streaming platform on May 13.
"Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that truly resonates with our global Prime Video audience,” announced Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios head of global TV. “We have great confidence in the way Louisa has mastered this adaptation, and we’re excited to give fans even more of the romance, friendship, and heart that define the series.”
Related: ‘Off Campus’ Season 1 Ending Explained: Do Hannah and Garrett End Up Together For Real?
When will ‘Off Campus’ season 2 come out?And luckily for Off Campus fans, they won’t have to wait too long for the action to hit the ice yet again. Filming for the second season is scheduled to begin in Canada on June 1 and will reportedly wrap up by mid-September, according to Forbes. That means that Briar U enthusiasts can expect season two to premiere in spring 2027, given that it took about a year between production and premiere to make the first season.
Creator Louisa Levy also recently confirmed to Variety that scripts for all eight episodes of the upcoming season are written and ready to go. “We have a very exciting plan for the season, " Levy teased. “I don’t want to say anything yet — but I think book fans will be very excited.”

Actress Ella Bright leads Off Campus season one as music major Hannah Wells.Prime Video
Will Hannah and Garrett be in ‘Off Campus’ season 2?Yes, though Off Campus will reportedly follow the same type of format as Bridgerton with a different star couple each season, season one leads Ella Bright and Belmont Carmeli will reportedly return for season two as Hannah and Garrett, just not as prominently as in the previous installment.
"Sometimes you fall in love with a couple and then you get their happily ever after and you're like, 'What are they gonna do next season? I don't wanna break them up. But I still wanna watch them.' And we will," Levy assured fans in an Entertainment Weekly interview. "Hannah and Garrett are still in season 2. They're still gonna be part of it, but their love story is not the thing that's driving the season anymore."
What will 'Off Campus' season 2 be about?Things haven’t been officially confirmed but it seems all but guaranteed that season two will follow the burgeoning relationship between Hannah’s aspiring-actress BFF Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Garrett’s Briar Hawks teammate Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn), whose clandestine connection was woven into Hannah and Garrett’s story in season one. Their romance is the subject of The Score, the third of Kennedy’s Briar University books.
"It's a book per season, roughly," Louisa Levy told Entertainment Weekly. "We are teeing up another love story every season." She added: “It is a little different than the Bridgerton model, where that's properly a book per season. We will always have a happily ever after of some kind, and then we'll also have another love story that's left hanging. So that's the structure and the model that we're building… I want audiences to know what they're tuning in for the following season. I want them to know who they're showing up for and why, and what story needs to get resolved."
So while Allie and Dean will likely move into the spotlight as the core couple, there will also be a secondary duo being set up — that could potentially be John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Grace Ivers (India Fowler), who are the subjects of Kennedy’s second Briar U novel The Mistake. However, nothing has been formally announced just yet.

Who is in the ‘Off Campus’ season 2 cast?As mentioned, series regulars Mika Abdalla (as Allie Hayes), Stephen Kalyn (as Dean Di Laurentis), Ella Bright (as Hannah Wells), Belmont Carmeli (as Garrett Graham) and Antonio Cipriano (as John Logan) are all set to return for the second season; they will be joined by fellow returning cast members Jalen Thomas Brooks (as John Tucker) and Khobe Clarke (as Beau Maxwell).
There will also be a few cast additions for season two, including India Fowler as John Logan’s love interest Grace Ivers and Phillipa Soo as Scarlett, a drama-department instructor. We also know that Josh Heuston won't be returning to reprise his roles as rock-band frontman in season two. “Maybe we'll find a way to fold him into a future season. We don't have him [available] next season, but never say never,” Levy told TV Guide.
Where can I watch 'Off Campus'?Off Campus is exclusively available to stream on Prime Video, which means you’re going to need a Prime Video subscription to tune into season one’s episodes and any future installments of the romantic drama. Current subscription plans include the $8.99 Standard plan, the $14.99 ad-free Ultra option or a full Amazon Prime Membership for $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

Why Songwriter of Banned 1977 Hit Compared King Charles to 'Love Island'
Punk is known for being anti-establishment, and there was one 1977 song that people thought went too far. It would probably get the same reception if it were released today. Here is why the Sex Pistols' songwriter of "God Save the Queen" compared King Charles to the country's hit summer reality show.
Glen Matlock Performed 'God Save the King' for King Charles' CoronationThere was a lot of attention on the British Royal Family for Queen Elizabeth II's 25th anniversary of taking the throne in 1977. The British band used that timing to make a statement about the establishment.
"God save the Queen/The fascist regime/It made you a moron/Potential H-bomb/God save the Queen/She ain't no human being/There is no future/In England's dreaming," is the opening of the song.
Bassist Glen Matlock was a co-writer of the song that led to A&M Records dropping the band. Radio stations banned it. However, it later became a hit and Matlock, 69, brought it back for King Charles' coronation in 2023. He changed the words to "God Save the King."
The bassist made his views on the British family clear. "There’s just so many people in destitution at the moment in this country," he said, according to The Guardian. "I think it’s kind of rubbing their noses in it a little bit. It’s all a distraction, but that’s the country we live in."
There is another "distraction" that Matlock mentioned. "I think things are bleak for a lot of people and I think the royal family is, like, kind of pretty much the same as Love Island or [The] X Factor," he said. "They’re kind of the opium of the masses, just keeping people quiet."
He performed the new version of the song at the 100 Club in London. It didn't become a chart-topping hit like the original version, but still sent a strong message.
Bruce Springsteen Makes Bold Political Statement During Performance As Penultimate 'Late Show' Guest
Tonight, Stephen Colbert's run with The Late Show comes to an end, with the show being outright cancelled a little under a year ago. CBS pulled the plug on the program due to "financial reasons," but it seemed to be more politically motivated. The show was announced to be cancelled after Colbert criticized the settlement reached between CBS and Donald Trumpafter his lawsuit involving 60 Minutes.
Trump has always had jabs for Colbert, with the two having a public political feud for many years. This continues to today, where Trump remarked that he'll have a "message" for Colbert after the show is over.
Last night saw the penultimate episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and featured special musical guest Bruce Springsteen.
@colbertlateshow@Bruce Springsteen performs "Streets of Minneapolis." #Colbert #BruceSpringsteen
♬ original sound - colbertlateshowThe Boss performed "Streets of Minneapolis," the song he wrote amidst the ICE occupation of Minneapolis, which resulted in the tragic deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti. Springsteen, another vocal critic of Trump, delivered a stripped back, Dylan-esque version of the song, complete with an emotional harmonica solo at the end.
Sprinsgteen opened his performance with some words for Colbert, stating "I am here in support tonight for Stephen because you're the first guy in America who lost his show because we got a President who can't take a joke."
Springsteen has never been a stranger to politics in his music, always taking an interest in the struggle of the American working class, with stories of the blue collar worker trying to get by making up the lexicon of his illustrious discography.
Fans loved the simpler version of the song and were feeling the emotions of the show coming to an end in the comments.
"I love Stephen Colbert and Bruce Springsteen!!!"
"Bruce is the coolest motherf***er ever."
"THANK YOU STEPHEN COLBERT! THANK YOU BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ! 😭💙😭💙"
I was really struck by how little Springsteen's voice has aged. The performance reminded me of my favorite of Springsteen's albums, "Nebraska," which also features this classic, stripped back sound.
Even though it's the penultimate show, there's a feeling that neither of these guys are throwing in the towel. I'm sure we will see more from them in the future.

The slow, cold extraction of the cold brew (steeped in cool water for hours, versus drip-brewed in minutes with boiling water) creates a "balanced, low-acid profile that's easy to sip."

Taco Bell's new Cold Brew can be ordered on its own as a 16-ounce or a 20-ounce ($4.59/$4.99, prices may vary), or with one of three of its signature Cold Foam flavors at no extra charge: Purple Velvet Cream (Horchata) Cold Brew, Caramel Dulce Cream Cold Brew and Vanilla Cream Cold Brew.
- Purple Velvet Cream Cold Brew: Taco Bell's signature Cold Brew paired with a creamy, velvety Cold Foam infused with warm horchata notes and Taco Bell's distinctive purple hue, creating a sweet finish that seamlessly melts into the coffee.
- Caramel Dulce Cream Cold Brew: A rich take on Cold Brew featuring a smooth coffee base finished with a lightly sweet, creamy Cold Foam layered with buttery caramel notes that blend into every sip.
- Vanilla Cream Cold Brew: Cold Brew elevated with a creamy, velvety vanilla cream Cold Foam, adding a lightly sweet and smooth finish.
While the coffee shop favorite may seem out of bounds for a fast food hub churning out savory bites like Mexican Pizza and Crunchwraps, the chain disagrees. It's been experimenting with exclusive dirty sodas, energy Refreshers and frozen sips for years, suggesting that bringing barista-inspired beverages to its drink menu is "the natural next step."
"We've spent decades building a bold flavor legacy at Taco Bell, and now we're bringing that same innovative mindset to coffee at Live Más Café," Liz Matthews, Taco Bell's global chief food innovation officer, shared in a statement. "As we continue to build the Café experience, Cold Brew and Cold Foams felt like the natural next step – bringing a flavor-forward, premium coffee experience into fans' everyday routines."
When Will Taco Bell's Cold Brews and Flavored Cold Foams Hit Live Más Café Menus—And For How Long?Taco Bell's new Cold Brew and flavored Cold Foams are joining its menu as permanent drink options beginning on May 21 at Live Más Café locations across Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas and Southern California.
To celebrate the launch, guests who purchase any medium Cold Brew at a Café on Saturday, May 30, starting at 7 a.m., will receive a limited-edition bandana, while supplies last.
Whether the menu will expand to all Taco Bell locations nationwide (and not just its Live Más Cafés) is to be determined. As a reminder, Live Más Café items are always in the mix to expand nationwide, as the locations were built to offer exclusive access to "bold" and "unexpected" items that Taco Bell hopes to bring to life for fans everywhere.

Sylvester Stallone Admits He 'Hated' Arnold Schwarzenegger Back in the 1980s: 'I Think Hate's a Good Word'
Nowadays, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger might be on more cordial terms with one another. But back in the 1980s, the two actors were embroiled in one of the most epic and storied feuds in the entire entertainment industry at the time.
Appearing in a 2014 interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Stallone was asked point blank about his feelings for the Terminator star, especially when compared to the bitter outlook each celebrity had for one another in the '80s.
"And Schwarzenegger, I read that you guys actually hated each other for a little while," Fallon remarked.
"Well, we were very competitive. Yeah, I think hate's a good word," Stallone explained, triggering audience laughter. "Did you ever hate someone so much you go, 'I got to [beat] them.' A musician will go, 'Oh, I hate this guy. I'm going to blow him away at the next audition.'"
After Fallon compared their relationship to the Beatles and Rolling Stones, Stallone commented that their feud was a bit more intense, in spite of his unwavering appreciation for Schwarzenegger's professional accomplishments.
"I really respect this guy. I think he's brilliant," Stallone said of the Conan the Barbarian actor. "What he's done, what he's accomplished, he's had three different careers. But I want to strangle him. I did."
On that same thread, Fallon made the observation that the two action heavyweights seemed to hand in similarly-veined movies around the same time as one another, using Stallone's Rambo and Schwarzenegger's follow-up Commando as an example.
Humorously, Stallone also admitted that Schwarzenegger sometimes tricked him into taking movies he knew would bomb at the box office, including the critically panned 1992 action comedy, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.
"Here's the thing. People play on your insecurities, [like] when your agent goes, 'Psst, you got to do this movie, you got to do this movie, Arnold's going to do it,'" the Rocky star said. "'I'm telling you, if you don't do this thing, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, he's in.'"
What Retirees Should Know About ChatGPT's New Personal Finance Tools
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere, even if you don’t want to use it. OpenAI is hoping its new set of financial tools will change your mind. While there are definite security risks to consider, here's what you should know if you choose to link your bank account to ChatGPT.
💵 Sign up for Parade's daily newsletter for money stories that matter to you 💵
Security ConcernsFirst and foremost, it’s important to remember two key things about AI chatbots.
- They are still unreliable and come with a warning within their own search results telling you that you should double-check everything, as answers can be wrong
- They are NOT end-to-end encrypted, meaning everyone who works at the company can see what you put into them
Because of these two very important points, there are understandable security concerns about linking your bank account to ChatGPT’s new financial features.
Rachel Tobac, a cybersecurity expert from San Francisco, CA, writes on LinkedIn, “Please don't make it easy for me to steal your life savings! ChatGPT + Bank Account integration warning.” She then launches into a long post about how unredacted financial information can lead to financial and identity theft.
ChatGPT’s New ToolPro users in the U.S. can now link over 12,000 financial institutions to their ChatGPT Pro account, News Nation reports. OpenAI notes that bank account numbers won’t be visible, but the chatbot will be able to “access a dashboard showing portfolio performance, spending, subscriptions, and upcoming payments.”
The model is similar to apps like RocketMoney that analyze your bank data to help you better manage your finances. The biggest difference is that RocketMoney connects to your accounts via Plaid, a secure third party. RocketMoney also uses its own bank-grade encryption to protect your data. OpenAI offers none of that protection.
Using The New ToolsIf none of these security concerns give you pause (they should), then you can pay for a monthly Pro subscription to ChatGPT to access the new tools. A Pro account costs $200 per month and can be purchased on the website or via an upgrade in the chatbot.
ChatGPT currently has 200 million monthly users who use its chat to help with their finances. OpenAI decided to streamline that focus by allowing direct access rather than having users continue to upload separate bits.
For anyone who doesn’t want to pay the monthly ChatGPT fee or who isn’t comfortable linking their bank account, there are financial influencers online who dole out free advice without any security concerns.

The pricing structure will change, but early adopters can grab the current price:
- Barter Free - $1.99 one time verification charge, free monthly access
- Barter Monthly - Verification fee included, $1.99 the first month, $4.99 monthly after that
- Barter Yearly - Verification fee included, $29.99 the first year, $49.99 yearly after that
- Barter Lifetime - Verification fee included, $180 for lifetime access with no additional fees

Color Psychologist Says These 5 Colors Are Worn Most by 'Highly Intelligent' People
Did you know you can tell if someone is smart and successful by the colors that they dress in? According to color psychology expert Michelle Lewis, founder of The Color Institute and ColorAnalysis.com, there are several colors that are worn the most by highly intelligent people. But those colors are not often worn together—rather, they're used to make a statement.
"After years of working with top CEOs, producers and high-performing executives, the pattern I see most consistently isn't a single color, it's a system," says Lewis, adding, "Highly intelligent people tend to dress in neutrals anchored by one strong, deliberate accent color."
She tells Parade that the color they choose to stand out "projects exactly what that person needs that day, in that room, for that moment," while the neutral base gives an "efficient" baseline for the entire outfit.
According to Lewis, there are patterns in both color preference and intelligence that are "consistent enough to pay attention to." It all comes down to her area of expertise: color psychology, which explores how color influences human behavior and emotion by impacting our brain and nervous system responses. Based on this, she says that "when a highly intelligent person reaches for [a specific color]," it's usually an intentional choice.
And there are five intentional colors she sees highly intelligent people wearing most often. Read on to find out what they are.

What Can Color Psychology Reveal About Someone?"Color psychology can tell us quite a bit about how someone processes the world, and processing color choice is deeply connected to intelligence," says Lewis.
She adds that color choice in clothing "can reveal whether they're introspective or action-oriented, whether they think before they speak or lead with instinct and how comfortable they are with complexity and nuance."

"The colors in your environment and even in your clothing can influence focus, processing speed and creative thinking," Lewis tells Parade, adding that it helps that "highly intelligent people tend to be more deliberate about their environment and their choices, which often includes color."
She says they're typically not making random choices in clothing or decor, but rather "creating conditions that support how their mind works best."
"That intentionality itself is a marker of a certain kind of high intelligence," she adds.

5 Colors ‘Highly Intelligent’ People Wear the Most, According to a Color Psychologist1. Red"Red is the accent a highly intelligent person reaches for when they need to project confidence and decisiveness," says Lewis.
She adds that it can also be worn to navigate uncertainty because "red sharpens focus and signals conviction even in moments of doubt."

2. BlueLewis says that blue helps "establish credibility fast."
"In my client work, it shows up on everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to academic leaders," she explains. "Blue projects trust, analytical depth and reliability. It tells a room: 'I've thought this through.'"

3. GreenLewis notes that deep green specifically helps project "stability, quiet authority and dependability." She cites a recent example when dressing a CEO, saying, "He arrived with deep greens already in hand—instinctively."
She adds that the color "doesn't demand attention. It earns investment without asking for it, which is exactly what the most strategically intelligent people in any room are aiming for."

4. Purple"Highly intelligent people who reach for purple are signaling openness," notes Lewis. She recommends it for "a negotiation, a creative session or any room where trust needs to be built quickly across differences."

5. OrangeLewis acknowledges that orange may seem like an unconventional choice, but she says, "I've watched orange transform the dynamic of an entire room."
She adds that it's a great choice for highly intelligent people in charge, because "orange makes people feel safe to speak up, to contribute, to take up space," which is ideal "for leaders who need ideas to flow freely in a room."
Related:If You Have a ‘Blue Aura,’ You Likely Have These 5 Traits, According to a Psychologist
Are There Specific Colors Linked to Lower Intelligence?"It's less about specific colors signaling lower intelligence and more about what happens when color is absent or suppressed," says Lewis. She cites gray as one example of this lack of color. "Research has found it appearing more frequently in self-portraits drawn by people with depressive tendencies," she shares.
Indeed, as Science Daily reported, a 2010 BioMed Central study found that those struggling with their mental health were most likely to choose gray to represent how they were feeling.

Lewis also notes that black has been linked with lower memory retention, according to a 2022 Heliyon study.
"Only 20% of students [retained] information effectively under black conditions compared to 57% under red," she states.
Ultimately, Lewis says that the absence of color "can potentially be working against your brain."
"Color is neurologically activating, and environments or wardrobes stripped of it may be quietly undermining cognitive performance in ways most people never consider," she adds.

Radio Station Sparks Panic After Accidentally Announcing King Charles’ Death on Air
King Charles IIIis very much alive. But a recent radio station broadcast in the UK seemed to say otherwise. After accidentally announcing the death of the monarch, Radio Caroline station manager Peter Moore publicly apologized for the serious blunder.
Reportedly, a computer glitch accidentally triggered the station’s “Death of a Monarch” protocol. As the name implies, the automated procedure is a ready-made statement issued in the event that the King were to pass. While Charles is still with us, the station’s computer system inadvertently pushed the notification, telling listeners, per The Telegraph, “This is Radio Caroline. We have suspended our normal programs until further notice as a mark of respect following the passing of His Majesty King Charles III. This is Radio Caroline, His Majesty King Charles III has passed away. As a mark of respect, we will play continuous, suitable music until further notice.”
According to reports, the station played “God Save the King” for nearly 15 minutes following the very premature announcement.
Moore issued an apology and an explanation from the station on social media, writing in a Facebook post, “Due to a computer error at our main studio the Death of a Monarch procedure, which all UK stations hold in readiness while hoping not to require, was accidentally activated on Tuesday afternoon (19 May), mistakenly announcing that HM the King had passed away.”
The statement went on to add, “Radio Caroline then fell silent as would be required, which alerted us to restore programming and issue an on-air apology. Caroline has been pleased to broadcast Her Majesty the Queen’s, and now the King’s, Christmas Message and we hope to do so for many years to come. We apologize to HM the King and to our listeners for any distress caused.”
Oops doesn’t really cover it. In the realm of workplace blunders, this is possibly one of the worst. Some Brits expressed panic after hearing the news. Comments such as, “I heard this while working in the garage. I dashed indoors shouting to the missus, ‘He’s dead! Charles is bloody dead!’ She looked puzzled and said, ‘Well he was just at the flower show yesterday’” poured in.
But it looks like some listeners are taking it in stride and even feel empathy towards the station. One commenter replied to the apology announcement post, writing, “It was a shock, but after telling my wife and neighbours I realised it was a mistake,” while another said, “None of us go through life without making the odd mistake.”
When Is the 'Tracker' Season 3 Finale?
Tracker Season 3 is swiftly coming to an end, with the groundwork laid out for the season finale episode, giving you something to watch this Memorial Day weekend.
On Tracker Season 3 Episode 21, titled "Chrono Stasis," Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) was joined by Russell Shaw (returning and fan-favorite guest star Jensen Ackles) for an adventure that took them around the U.S., looking for a victim of a top-secret government project that was connected to their father's mysterious death.
In a nutshell, a meeting with their late dad's project partner, Serena Jukic, from the "Chrono Stasis Institute," revealed that the government was running tests on gifted and high-IQ children, one of which resulted in a death that forced Ashton Shaw to demand that the project be shut down. While Jukic stayed on with the program, Ashton was pushed out, with Colter and Russell's mother confirming that there were "forces" pursuing him once he went off the grid, ready to silence him, as he grew more paranoid and angry.
Jukic also informed them of a gifted boy, Danny, whom she grew very close to while conducting the experiments. When she realized the government was behind his and his father's staged deaths, and eventually the death of his mother, she tried to get him to safety, but it was too late. Much like Ashton, she was pushed out and never saw Danny again, with the project expanding to more subjects with applications in real-life government defense situations. In short, they were using the kids' skills in combat.
Colter promises that he and Russell will do their best to find Danny, which takes them to a pharmaceutical company owned by a private military contractor, known as Dorix Logistics, where they locate Danny, who refuses to go with them, noting, "I can't leave," and triggering an alarm that likely puts both brothers in jeopardy.
The episode ends with "to be continued," with the scene set for the Tracker Season 3 finale.
When is the Tracker Season 3 finale? The Tracker Season 3 finale, Episode 22, titled "The Best Ones," will air on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT.
Where can I watch the Tracker Season 3 finale?Tracker Season 3 Episode 22 will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+, live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers. It will also be available on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after.

What is the Tracker Season 3 finale about? The synopsis keeps it pretty vague, simply stating, "Colter and Russell search for a victim of a nefarious research project." What we do know is that the stakes are at an all-time high since Russell and Colter broke into the government facility and are risking it all to save Danny, a victim of the project, and shut it down before it takes more innocent lives.
Teaser photos reveal that Russell doesn't come out unscathed, as he's bleeding out from what appears to be a gunshot or stab wound, as Colter comes to his aid. The duo has also seemingly made contact with one of the project's former test subjects, Lola (Laurel Marsden), who was paired up with Danny. As she's still alive and knows the inner-workings of the project, she may be the key they need to get out of this mess.
