Who Won ‘Jeopardy’ Today? (May 15, 2026) Plus, the Final Jeopardy Answer

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 3:00pm

There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.

What was Final Jeopardy today?

Final Jeopardy today was in the category "PLAY CHARACTERS"

The clue: "This title character of an 1890 play is often called 'the female Hamlet'"

The answer: "Who is Hedda Gabler?"

It was a tight Double Jeopardy race between Williams and Griffith, who came into FJ with $18,900 and $12,800, respectively. Williams' wager of $6,701 was a classic strategic play, enough to cover a correct response from Griffith (who would have had a maximum of $25,600 if he wagered everything and answered correctly).

In the end, Williams was the only one to get it right, for a final score of $25,601, while Griffith wagered $8,000, got it wrong, and dropped to $4,899. Meanwhile, Fulton’s pre-FJ score was $600, with a near-total wager of $599, and a final answer later, she walked away with $1.

Williams will be back again on Monday for his ninth go-around.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's New Project Isn't What You'd Expect

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:42pm

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, have just announced a brand-new Netflix project in development, and while it's far from their first partnership with the streaming service, this work is going to look quite different from what the couple has done together before.

Per People, Meghan and Prince Harry will be developing a movie adaptation of the memoir No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege, written by Major Adam Jowett. The book centers on the true story of a British company, Easy Company, that came under siege in Afghanistan during their fight against the Taliban in 2006.

During the siege, Easy Company found themselves vastly outnumbered and outgunned, which resulted in a harrowing battle that lasted many days, all led by Jowett himself, who had to handle the responsibility of trying to keep the Easy Company soldiers alive.

As reported by Deadline, the movie adaptation is being produced by Meghan, Prince Harry and Tracy Ryerson, the latter of whom will be responsible for scripted content, for Archewell Productions—the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's company that, per the website, "...is dedicated to illuminating thought-provoking and diverse narratives that underscore our common humanity and celebrate community."

Other projects produced by Archewell have included the docuseries Harry & Meghan, as well as With Love, Meghan, both of which were also released on Netflix.

The couple's Archewell Productions projects are just some of the work they continue to do. In fact, Meghan just shared updates on her company As Ever, which is a lifestyle brand offering a range of products, from wines and chocolates to candles and teas.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan have also continued to have engagements and make appearances at various events, although those events are not nearly as frequent as they would be if the couple still lived in the United Kingdom as working royals. And, no doubt, this type of project would be considerably less likely if they hadn't stepped away from royal duties.

1998 Power Ballad Became the Longest-Running No. 2 Hit in Country Music History

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:35pm

Not only the Queen of Country Pop, Shania Twain is the queen of charting records. One of her biggest achievements has quietly been sitting in the Billboard record books for decades. Twain’s 1998 power ballad, “You’re Still the One” remains the longest-running No. 2 hit in country music history, a testament to the crossover smash’s enduring popularity nearly 30 years later.

As Twain gears up to host the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday, May17, from Las VegasMGM Grand Garden Arena — and prepares to release her new album, Little Miss Twain, on July 24 — there’s never been a better time to revisit the historic song.

View this post on Instagram

Written with her then-husband, record producer Mutt Lange, the song is an ode to enduring love. Built on an arrangement of organ, piano, and guitar, and lifted by soaring harmonies, the tender ballad struck a deep emotional chord with fans.

So much so that Twain has since called the ode to love her “most important song,” noting the irony that the ballad about lasting love was written with a partner she’s no longer with. Over time, the song has taken on new meaning for her — one shaped less by permanence and more by resilience and triumph.

“‘You’re Still the One’ is the favorite song I've ever written because it means so much to so many other people,” Twain told TODAY in 2023. “That just really makes it the most important song I’ve ever written. … You get married because you think it’s going to last forever. So, the song no longer applied to me in that sense.”

Released on Jan. 27, 1998, “You’re Still the One” was a unique choice, because it was also marketed to pop and adult contemporary radio stations. And it was wildly successful in doing so. According to NBC News, the song spent 42 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 2 for nine weeks.

The country star shares thesecond longest-running record with Donna Lewis’ pop hit “I Love You Always Forever.”

On May 2, 1998, “You're Still the One” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. A year later, she nabbed two Grammys for the hit off her landmark Come On Overalbum. The crossover gamble changed Twain's career forever. Now a staple at weddings and karaoke nights, “You’re Still the One” has become the “ultimate love song” for fans, enduring in popularity all these years later.

Speaking with The Boot in 2023, the queen put it best: “[‘You’re Still the One’] was a magic moment.”

Sentimental 1947 Book Considered One of the 'Best Children's Books Ever' Was Banned for 25 Years for an Absurd Reason

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:34pm

Some book bans are for the most ridiculous reasons ever, and they can end up harmful. That was almost the case for one children’s book published in 1947. Fortunately, now, this book is considered one of the “Best Children’s Books Ever,” but it almost wasn’t the case.

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown is considered No. 6 on the list of “Best Children’s Books Ever” by Goodreads users, and there are plenty of reasons why. It is one of the most sentimental books out there for younger readers, and it’s this that led to a 25-year ban.

‘Goodnight Moon’ Was Banned at the New York Public Library

From 1947 to 1972, so from the moment of publication, Goodnight Moon couldn’t be found in the New York Public Library. This had nothing to do with the government or parents. It was Anne Carroll Moore’s dislike of the book. The head children’s librarian at the time thought the book was “unbearably sentimental,” and she didn’t believe that it offered any sort of educational value to children.

So, there was a “soft ban,” which led to a delay in the initial success for the classic. Fortunately, it didn’t stop if from becoming popular, but it could have been so much worse.

The banning didn’t stop with Moore’s library, either. So many librarians thought that she was important enough to listen to, and they decided to ban the children’s story as well.

In fact, after she retired, she reportedly tore up a list her successor, Francis Sayers, made for the new books to enter the children’s book shelves.

‘Goodnight Moon’ Faced Another Potential Ban in the 2000s

After finally getting into the library shelves, there’s no doubt that this classic became a favorite. However, it then faced another ban in the 2000s, and that one was thanks to illustrations that came from a time of the past.

Clement Hurd, the illustrator of the story, had a man smoking a cigarette on one of the pages. Rather than accept that this is a depiction of the past, many rallied to have the book banned because it might encourage children to smoke. HarperCollins and Hurd’s son worked together to digitally change the image to remove the cigarette, which raises the question about history and the use of technology.

1965 Rock Classic From a No. 1 Album Has Disturbing Lyrics

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:29pm

Overall, the beloved band The Beatles is known for songs that evoke images of peace, love, and friendship, like "A Little Help From My Friends," "In My Life," and "All You Need Is Love." However, in May 2026, American Songwriter reported that the 1965 Beatles' song, "Run For Your Life," off the Rubber Soul record, has some unexpectedly dark lyrics.

The publication named the John Lennon-penned track as being among "the 4 classic songs [that] are seriously disturbing." According to the publication, the tune depicts an unwell narrator promising he'll murder his romantic interest in a scenario where she decides to date someone else.

John Lennon Discussed 'Run for Your Life' in a 1971 Interview

In a 1971 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Lennon shared that he wasn't all that fond of "Run for Your Life." According to the late musician, who died in 1980 at the age of 40, he didn't put much thought into writing the song, which was partly inspired by Elvis Presley's 1957 track, "Baby Let's Play House."

"From the same period, same time, I never liked 'Run For Your Life,' because it was a song I just knocked off. It was inspired from – this is a very vague connection – from 'Baby Let’s Play House.' There was a line on it – I used to like specific lines from songs – “I’d rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man” – so I wrote it around that but I didn’t think it was that important," said Lennon to the publication.

While speaking to Rolling Stone, Lennon said he was happy with the song, "Girl," also from Rubber Soul, which became a No. 1 record in 1966, as reported by the official The Beatles Store.

"Girl' I liked because I was, in a way, trying to say something or other about Christianity which I was opposed to at the time," said Lennon in the interview.

Lennon then explained that the song deals with "sort of the Catholic Christian concept – be tortured and then it’ll be alright, which seems to be a bit true but not in their concept of it."

"But I didn’t believe in that, that you have to be tortured to attain anything, it just so happens that you were," continued Lennon.

Meet Annette Bening and Warren Beatty’s 4 Kids — And Which Ones Followed Them Into Acting

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:28pm

When Warren Beatty first met Annette Bening on the set of Bugsy in 1990, few people expected Hollywood’s most famously commitment-phobic leading man to settle down. But more than three decades later, the Oscar-winning pair are still together — and the four children they’ve raised mean more to them than all of their critically acclaimed work combined.

For Bening, there was never much doubt in her mind that she’d one day be a mom. “It was one of the earliest things that I ever wanted when I was a little kid,” she told Parade in 2010. “I wanted to be a mother, so it’s always been in me. I’m not somebody that came to that later and thought, ‘Well, maybe I will and maybe I won’t.’ It was just always there.”

For his part, Beatty has called having kids “the biggest thing that’s ever happened” to him. “That’s bigger than fame, and it came not a moment too soon.”

How many kids do Annette Bening and Warren Beatty have?

Bening and Beatty share four children: Stephen, 34, Ben, 31, Isabel, 29, and Ella, 26.

Their eldest child was born on Jan. 8, 1992, just a month after the release of Bugsy, the film that famously brought his parents together.

Speaking to Parade in 2010, when her youngest was around 10, Bening said, “[Motherhood] is very demanding. I’ve got this family who needs me even when I’m working. In some ways it’s crazy-making, but in other ways, it’s so deeply gratifying that I can have the chance to have a career too.”

She went on to say that, in general, most moms are just doing their best. “[We’re] trying to raise our kids and talk to them about everything that needs to be discussed and give them their limits and also be their allies. So for everybody, it’s always a bit of a mess and chaotic.”

How old were Annette Bening and Warren Beatty when they had their last child?

The couple’s youngest daughter, Ella, was born on Jan. 8, 2000. At the time, Bening was 41 years old and Beatty was 62.

Commenting on his decision to marry and start a family later in life, Beatty told GQ in 2016, "Had I gone ahead earlier and gone through 143 divorces, I would have felt very guilty. I think I would have handled it badly. More importantly, it wouldn't have been these kids or this wife ... I'm so much more interested in my wife and kids than anything else."

Who are Annette Bening and Warren Beatty’s kids?Stephen Beatty

After Beatty confirmed to the press (via fax!) that he and Annette were expecting their first child, the couple was a tabloid fixture — but only for a proverbial minute.

“...We weren’t a scandal for very long,” Bening told Parade. “Very quickly we had a kid and it was like, ‘Oh yeah, they are just like married with children.’”

In 2012, their eldest child, who was assigned female at birth, shared that he identified as a trans man and had begun transitioning as a teen. Both Bening and Beatty have spoken lovingly and openly about supporting their son.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Beatty said, "He's a revolutionary, a genius and my hero, as are all my children."

Bening, meanwhile, told AARP, “He’s managed something that’s very challenging with great style and great intelligence. He’s an articulate, thoughtful person, and I’m very, very proud of him.”

She’s also admitted to wanting to protect Stephen — and all of her children — at certain points in their lives. “When I was younger, part of me thought I could save my children from having to suffer, which was, of course, ridiculous,” Bening said. “They have to go through their struggles.”

In addition to his LGBTQ+ advocacy work, Stephen is a writer and educator who’s contributed essays and poetry to various publications and anthologies.

Ben Beatty

Ben joined the family on Aug. 23, 1994.

An alumnus of Northwestern University, where he studied Theater and Middle Eastern History, the second-born Beatty has followed in his parents’ footsteps as an actor. His film credits include Hail, Caesar! and UFO, and he recently made his Geffen Playhouse debut in the show Master Harold and the Boys.

“I grew up going to shows at the Geffen, and it feels great to be working here myself,” he told Broadway World. “We don't have enough theater in Los Angeles, so I'm very happy to be a part of the great community here at the Geffen, working on a special piece of art. I'm very grateful for it, and I hope I get the chance to do it again.”

Isabel Beatty

Isabel was born on Jan. 11, 1997, and followed her parents into acting as well. She’s so far been in a number of short films, including Murder Tag (2018), Baggage (2019) and Admitted (2021), but has yet to have her “big break” in film or television.

Back in 2014, she participated in the prestigious Bal des Débutantes in Paris. She was 17 at the time.

Ella Beatty

Ella, born April 8, 2000, is perhaps the most publicly visible of the Beatty-Bening children these days.

After studying at Juilliard, Ella made her on-screen debut in 2024 with a recurring role in FX on Hulu’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans before landing her first film role in the A24 drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You the following year. She’s also no stranger to the stage, having made her Broadway debut in 2024 in a replacement role in Branden Jacobs-JenkinsAppropriate.

Fun fact: Bening was about nine-months pregnant with Ella at the 1999 Oscars in March. She was nominated for her role in American Beauty but lost to Hilary Swank, who won for Boys Don't Cry; meantime, Beatty was that year's recipient of the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.

"I remember that night and just the baby was moving so much because of the adrenaline that was coursing through my system," she recalled on Today in 2024.

Are any of Annette Bening and Warren Beatty’s kids actors?

Yes, three of their children have pursued acting: Ben, Isabel and Ella.

But if the default nepo babies are turning to their parents’ career for inspiration, Beatty hasn’t noticed.

“Once in a while I’ll say, ‘Did you ever see such and such?’ And they haven’t,” Beatty said in 2016. “I said to my 19-year-old [Isabel] last year, ‘Have you ever seen Shampoo?’ and she was like, ‘Nooo.’ So there’s my legacy for you. At least around here.”

PHOTO: Phil Collins Walks With Crutches on Rare Outing Amid Health Issues

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:11pm

Beloved musician Phil Collins was seen walking with crutches during a rare outing at Buckingham Palace earlier this week.

The 75-year-old artist posed alongside Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster to celebrate the 50th anniversary of King Charles III's charity.

View this post on Instagram

"Despite the downpours of torrential rain which did not seem to dampen the festivities @officialphilcollins and I were very proud and honored to be there and have a few private moments with King Charles who seemed genuinely pleased to see Phil who was the very first ambassador 40 years ago and a trustee even before that!" Jill Collins captioned the sweet photo.

Earlier this year, the Grammy winning musician gave an update on his health, explaining that he's had a "difficult, frustrating last few years."

"I can walk, albeit with assistance, you know, crutches or whatever," the "You'll Be In My Heart" artist said during a January appearance on the "BBC Eras" podcast.

He continued, "I enjoyed coming off tour. Coming off the road … I thought, right, I’m gonna do all those things that I couldn’t do. I guess I had too much of it. I was never drunk, although I fell over a couple of times. But it is just one of those things that happened, and it all caught up with me, and I spent months in hospital."

Prior to being dependent on crutches, Collins had used a walker for assistance for nearly a decade.

He has largely retired from music after stepping away from performing in 2022.

"I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore," he told Mojo Magazine last year.

'Perfect Match': Ally Reveals What 'Annoyed' Her About Dating Jimmy in Season 4

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 2:10pm

Reality TV singles are on Perfect Match to find someone they're compatible with in hopes of winning a trip together. Jimmy Presnell of Love Is Blind Charlotte and Ally Lewber of Vanderpump Rules hit it off. But there is one thing she admitted that annoyed her about their time together.

Ally Says Jimmy Got Her to Open up on 'Perfect Match' View this post on Instagram

Jimmy immediately showed interested in Ally on Perfect Match. They had a steamy kiss in the season's first game. Ally made sure he liked cats before moving forward. She noted that Jimmy was a Scorpio, which was her "favorite sign."

But it wasn't all smooth sailing between them. Ally told Tudum an annoying thing about their experience together.

"I’m such a lover girl, but I also am a Capricorn, and I will close off my emotions," the astrologer explained. "[Because he had] already been on a dating show, I think Jimmy was good at getting me to open up, as much as it sometimes annoyed me."

There is still more to see of their journey. But the reality stars aren't hiding how much they enjoyed their time together. Jimmy posted a video of enjoying a meal together on Instagram with the words, "us the second the first batch of Perfect Match episodes drop."

The next day, Jimmy posted a video answering questions about their relationship. Ally revealed she was the one who said "I love you" first.

It's still unknown who will win the season. The cast votes on which final couple they believe is a "perfect match." They question every couple about their experience. That questioning gets hard if the couple has hooked up with other people in the cast.

The first five episodes of Perfect Match Season 4 are now available to stream on Netflix.

1970 Classic Film, With Live Performance From Iconic Band, Ranked Among ‘Greatest Rock and Roll Movies’ of All Time

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:58pm

In 1970, a documentary about a rock concert became something far bigger, and far darker, than anyone expected.

Gimme Shelter, directed by brothers Albert Maysles and David Maysles, was recently ranked among the greatest rock and roll movies of all time by Consequence.

The film documents The Rolling Stones' 1969 U.S. tour and culminates with the now-infamous Altamont Free Concert in California, an event often viewed as the symbolic end of the idealistic 1960s counterculture era.

What began as a celebration of music and freedom descended into chaos when violence erupted during the concert. The film famously captured the fatal stabbing of audience member Meredith Hunter during the Stones' performance, creating one of the most shocking moments ever preserved in a music documentary.

"We didn't know what the film was going to be," Albert Maysles told BFI. "We just had a childish faith that having seen the Stones and getting along with them, there might be a feature film there. So at our own expense and speculation we stayed with them."

Unlike traditional concert films of the era, Gimme Shelter blended electrifying live performances with raw behind-the-scenes footage and cinéma vérité filmmaking techniques that made viewers feel immersed in unfolding events.

"I'm an optimist by nature, so I had no idea that it was going to turn out so badly in so many ways," Albert Maysles told The Georgia Straight. "But I was nevertheless determined to make it more than just a concert film, and it certainly was that, with all the things that took place being part of the story."

The movie also featured powerful live performances from the Rolling Stones at the height of their influence, including renditions of songs like "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Gimme Shelter" itself.

Part of what makes the documentary so enduring is the way it captures both the exhilaration and danger surrounding rock music culture at the end of the 1960s. The Maysles brothers didn't present the concert as polished entertainment. Instead, they documented events as they unfolded, giving the film an unsettling realism that still feels powerful decades later.

One especially memorable aspect of the documentary is its footage of Mick Jagger watching scenes from Altamont after the fact, visibly shaken as he processes what happened.

Over time, Gimme Shelter became recognized not only as one of the greatest concert films ever made, but as an important historical document capturing a major cultural turning point.

Its inclusion among the greatest rock and roll movies of all time reflects both its musical power and its haunting portrayal of a moment when the dream of the 1960s collided with a much darker reality.

1982 No. 1 Hit Ranked Among Billboard's Greatest Songs Ever Became Both Artists’ Biggest Hit 44 Years Ago Today

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:58pm

Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder teamed up for one of the biggest hits of the 1980s when “Ebony and Ivory” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on May 15, 1982.

The song ultimately spent seven consecutive weeks atop the chart, becoming the biggest hit of McCartney’s post-Beatles career and the longest-running No. 1 hit of Wonder’s career. The duet, which appeared on McCartney’s Tug of War album, also reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom and became one of the bestselling singles of 1982.

Built around the metaphor of black and white piano keys living together in harmony, “Ebony and Ivory” tackled racial unity in an unusually direct way for mainstream pop radio at the time. According to producer George Martin's book "Making Music," McCartney got the idea after hearing comedian Spike Milligan say, “Black notes, white notes, and you need to play the two to make harmony.”

McCartney had specifically envisioned recording the song with a Black artist and immediately hoped Wonder would join him. The pair recorded the track in Montserrat in 1981 during the Tug of War sessions produced by Martin.

“I wanted a black feller and me as the white feller — I thought that was the way it ought to be done,” McCartney later recalled in the Wings fanclub magazine Club Sandwich. “If I could have anyone it would be Stevie Wonder.”

While the song became a massive commercial success, critics were often divided over its simplistic message. Some reviewers dismissed it as overly sentimental, while others praised its hopeful tone and memorable melody.

McCartney, however, consistently defended the song over the years.

“They didn’t like ‘Ebony and Ivory,’ the critics,” he said in the book "Conversations with McCartney." “But for Christ’s sake it was No. 1, you know? It did something.”

He also pointed to the personal responses he received from listeners as proof the song connected with people in a meaningful way.

“I’ve just got to do those songs, whether they’re too simple or not,” McCartney said in a 1983 interview with Club Sandwich. “Some people need you to say black and white should live together, brother.”

Despite the backlash from some critics, “Ebony and Ivory” has remained one of the defining pop collaborations of the early MTV era. In 2008, Billboard named it one of the greatest Hot 100 songs of all time, noting that although critics “savaged” the song as sappy, it still became one of the biggest hits either artist ever recorded.

A Texas Hotel Is Going Viral for Inviting Guests To Live There—and It’s Cheaper Than Most People’s Rent

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:56pm

If you've gone grocery shopping lately, filled up your gas tank, or paid rent, you already know the economic squeeze is real. With inflation climbing what feels like every day, food prices continuing to rise, and the average rent in Texas sitting at roughly $1,450 per month, Americans are getting creative about how to make ends meet. So when a viral TikTok from a hotel manager offering long-term stays for less than $270 per week started making the rounds, people sat up and took notice.

The general manager of the Grand Hotel Spindletop in Beaumont, Texas, Sheri, recently posted a video laying out a compelling case for an unconventional solution to the housing crisis. "Can you afford $269 a week? If you can, then you can afford to stay long term at a hotel," she posed in the caption. "If you can afford $1020, you just secured yourself a whole month at a hotel."

What You Get (for a Hotel Stay)

The numbers alone are attention-grabbing—that's significantly less than what most Texans pay for apartments, which average around $1,200 to $1,600 depending on the location and size. But what really caught people's attention weren't just the prices. It was everything that comes with staying at the hotel.

According to Sheri's video, "Living long term at a hotel has a lot of great benefits. Free breakfast, room service, yard service, fresh linens, a pool." No deposits. No cable bills. No water bills. No electricity bills. No internet worries separate from the room. No HOA fees. No property taxes. No homeowners' insurance. No maintenance headaches. Just a clean space and someone to take care of the everyday responsibilities that drain both time and money.

Why People Are Paying Attention

The comments on the video told the real story. One user wrote: "This sounds very appealing to those of us who can't afford to retire on a cruise ship." Another pointed out the obvious: "No deposits. No utilities. It's not a bad idea." And perhaps most tellingly, someone commented: "This actually sounds better than owning a house right now. No maintenance or bills, clean space, and breakfast."

Several commenters even called the trend a "recession indicator"—a sign that economic pressures are pushing people toward unconventional housing solutions. When you add up what you'd normally spend on utilities, maintenance, property taxes, and homeowners insurance on top of a traditional mortgage or rental payment, the hotel option starts looking less crazy and more practical.

The Grand Hotel Spindletop is located at 2525 N. 11th St. in Beaumont. According to Sheri, the weekly and monthly rates quoted in the video are the official in-house rates. (Book online and you'll find different pricing.) Whether this trend catches on beyond a viral TikTok moment remains to be seen, but one thing's clear: when housing costs and inflation are this high, people are going to explore every option available—even if it means calling a hotel home.

New on Netflix (May 15-17, 2026)Pop Culture Jeopardy! Colin Jost on 'Pop Culture Jeopardy!'

Courtesy of Netflix

Jeopardy! has been a cultural institution for over 60 years, as we've seen braniacs from Ken Jennings to recent standout Jamie Ding be able to rattle off an impressive variety of facts like the back of their hand. But, for those who feel they could never contain the vast amount of knowledge required to walk away a winner, 2025 saw the creation of a spinoff show that had a more focused (but still widespread) topic: Pop culture. Season 2 of Pop Culture Jeopardy!, which has been airing episodes starting May 11, has moved homes, now airing on Netflix instead of Prime Video. But the focus is still the same, as Colin Jost hosts a variety of trios, all putting their knowledge of movies, TV, music and beyond to the test. Netflix will air one episode every weekday for the next three weeks, giving a perfect daytime companion to its primetime sibling.

Perfect Match Season 4 'Perfect Match' Season 4

Courtesy of Netflix

Over the past five or so years, Netflix has built a strong foundation of reality shows, ranging from the romance of Love is Blind and Too Hot to Handle to the intense competition of Squid Game: The Challenge and Million Dollar Secret. So it only makes sense the streamer create its own version of Bachelor in Paradise, a way for stars across shows to mix, mingle and hopefully find love. Thus, Perfect Match was born. Season 4 of the Nick Lachey-led series kicked off on May 13 with five out of its eight episodes. And, after breaking the network barrier last season, reality stars from Love Island, Vanderpump Rules, and even a social media star have made their way to Netflix, hoping to find "the one" — or at least the one to get them to the end of the game.

Nemesis is the newest series from Courtney A. Kemp, who is responsible for creating the hit Power franchise on STARZ. And, while she's made her way over to streaming, her wheelhouse has remained consistent, as we take to the streets of Los Angeles. Nemesis, which released May 14, tells the tale of a cat-and-mouse game between an expert criminal (Insecure's Y'lan Noel) and a brilliant detective (Abbott Elementary's Matthew Law). But, of course, it's only a matter of time before we get beneath the top layer of this simply dynamic, exploring everything from family and marriage to what drives us as people.

Paul McCartney Recounts Hilarious Hiking Story About This Bandmate

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:51pm

Paul McCartney has recounted a hilarious memory of his Beatles bandmate, George Harrison.

During a recent episode of The Rest Is History podcast, the music legend reminisced about a time when he and his late bandmate traveled as teenagers. McCartney said that at the time they were "hitchhiking down South" to Wales and that the experience inspired one of the songs on his upcoming solo album,The Boys of Dungeon Lane.

"We got a lift from a milk float, which was electric. Those were the only vehicles we knew that were electric, [and it] went about four miles an hour, but it was a lift, so we were quite happy," the 83-year-old explained on the podcast.

McCartney added that Harrison chose to sit on the vehicle's battery, which was located between the driver and passenger seats. "The driver was sitting on the right-hand side, then there was a battery in the middle, and then there was the passenger seat on the left-hand side, and George sat on the battery."

George's jeans had a zip on the back pocket which connected with the battery, Paul explained. "[The zip] connected up and the battery had given him a bolt," said McCartney. "And later, when we got to our B&B, he showed me. Yeah, he had a great big zip tattooed into his bum."

The Grammy-winning artist was reminded of the story by George's widow, Olivia, although she believed the incident had happened to him and not her late husband. "I said, 'It wasn't it me, it was George!' But I think it's amazing the way memory does that. It can just morph," he said, per People.

George died on November 29, 2001, at the age of 58. The former Beatles guitarist passed away at a friend's LA property following a long battle with cancer.

Woman Ditches Expensive California Life To Make $125K on Her Oregon Flower Farm— Here’s How You Can Copy Her

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:48pm

Feeling deep burnout from her social work job, Lennie Larkin began growing flowers in her small home in Sonoma, California. She quickly saw that she could turn a profit and wanted more land, but everything in California was too expensive. Then she found the farm in Oregon.

A Flowering Business

In an interview with Realtor.com, Larkin said that her burnout led her to feel a desire to be in nature and work with her hands. She started by growing vegetables, and then slowly added flowers into the mix. She found her passion in the blooms.

On her half-acre of land, Larkin expanded her flower-growing business and soon found that the money she made replaced her nonprofit salary. It took a few years of selling flowers at a roadside stand, along with her other offerings, before she was able to completely replace her job.

Larkin said that, due to supplies, taxes, and reinvesting into her business, she was only able to take home 40% of her $125k. She was encouraged to keep going, however, and decided she needed to expand.

More Than Just Florals

Her expansion went far past the stand where she started. She taught workshops, made deliveries, and outfitted weddings with her wares. Her customer base began to grow, and she knew she needed more land.

“I wanted a nice, old house and flat, open land without trees or massive shrubs, and access to water,” she tells the Realtor. “In California, we kept running out of water.”

Unfortunately, everything that met her needs in California was way beyond her price range. She and her partner, now her fiancé, began looking in other states. She found the property in Warren, OR, just 42 minutes north of Portland.

A Blooming Business

Proximity to the city meant a higher customer base, while the land she purchased gave her the space to expand. Now she runs her business, including her store website, and teaches others how to grow flowers for profit on another of her websites and her Instagram.

“You really can make a living on a small plot of land,” she says. In her best year, she made $250,000 but kept only 40%, or around $100,000.

Even if a life in the flowers isn’t something you considered, finding a passion like Larkin did and turning it into a business is completely doable. Larkin helps new flower farmers start, but there are plenty of websites and classes out there that can help you turn your passion into a new career.

Exactly How Many Times a Week To Do Pilates for a More Toned Physique, Instructors Say

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:25pm

Though Pilates is about 100 years old, you’ve probably noticed a lot more people talking about it in the past few years. According to a 2026 Pilates report compiled by Mariana Tek, a business management software company used by boutique fitness studios, the percentage of studios offering Pilates has grown every year since 2021.

There are many benefits of doing Pilates regularly. It can help build lean muscle, help with balance and joint stability and build endurance. One scientific article published in the Muscle, Ligaments and Tendons Journal says that Pilates can help improve flexibility, posture and strength. Some studies show that doing Pilates regularly can also support mental health by decreasing feelings of depression, anxiety and stress.

Perhaps you’re curious about Pilates because you want a more toned physique. There’s a lot of talk about having a “Pilates body” on social media, but can Pilates actually change the way you look? To find out, Parade talked to two Pilates instructors. They get real on what Pilates can and can’t do, and also reveal how many times a week they recommend doing Pilates to truly reap the benefits.

Can Pilates Change How You Look?

If one of your health goals is to have a toned physique, Lauren King, NCPT, a Pilates instructor at Strong Pilates Commack in Commack, New York, says that it’s important to consider your body composition. She explains that Pilates can absolutely help support a more toned physique. However, it may need to be paired with other habits that support losing weight in a healthy way, such as maintaining a calorie deficit and doing aerobic-based exercise regularly.

If you don’t want to lose weight and you just want to look more toned, Pilates is a great workout to do regularly. “It builds muscular strength and endurance, improves posture and trains the body through controlled, full-range movement. Over time, this can contribute to improved muscle definition,” King tells Parade.

Erica Walters, NCPT,a level-three certified Pilates instructor and the owner of Pilates Fit Studio in Kentucky, agrees. “A toned physique results from building lean muscle while maintaining a healthy body composition. Pilates contributes directly to the muscle side of that equation, and a consistent practice supports the kind of full-body movement habit that helps with the rest,” she says.

Walters explains that classical Pilates is a form of resistance training, sharing, “It uses spring tension and bodyweight to load the muscles and follows the same training principles that build lean, visible muscle tone in other forms of resistance work."

Think that progressive overload (gradually increasing the intensity, volume or difficulty of your workouts over time) can only happen with barbells or dumbbells? Think again.

“Progressive overload is a training principle that applies anywhere resistance exists, and in classical Pilates, it shows up through spring tension, bodyweight leverage and structured sequencing,” Walters says.

How Many Times a Week To Do Pilates for a Toned Physique, Instructors Say

Now that you know that Pilates can help with looking more toned comes the big question: How often do you have to do it to actually notice a difference?

For best results, Walters and King both recommend doing Pilates three to four times a week, though this number can differ from person to person depending on their individual health and whether or not they do any other types of workouts regularly. But both experts are clear that consistency drives results. “Strength is built through repeated stimulus and progressive challenge over time,” Walters says.

King explains that doing Pilates three to four times a week allows the body to build strength and muscular endurance while still supporting recovery, which is essential for adaptation and progress.

Related: Pilates Instructors Say These 3 Moves Are the Fastest Way To See Results in Your Core

If you commit to doing Pilates three to four times a week, both experts say that you can expect to notice a difference in how you look and feel in as little as a few weeks.

“Many people begin to notice early changes within a few weeks, particularly in their core engagement and posture. Visible changes in muscle definition and body composition typically take longer and depend on consistency, overall training and nutrition habits. Pilates can support these changes, especially when it’s part of a well-rounded routine,” King tells Parade.

Walters quotes Joseph Pilates, saying, “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body. Practitioners have been quoting this line for nearly a century because it is true.”

What To Do if You Want To See Faster Results

If you want to see a physical change sooner, both experts say to incorporate aerobic exercise into your workout routine, such as making a goal to get between 10,000 and 15,000 steps a day.

“Resistance training is not the same as physical activity, and this distinction matters. Physical activity includes walking, cleaning, gardening, dancing and the daily movement that supports your cardiovascular and pulmonary health. Resistance training is what builds strength and lean muscle. You need both,” Walters says.

Both experts emphasize that you’ll feel the results before you see them. They say that day-to-day activities become easier, such as picking up heavy groceries, maintaining proper posture while sitting at a desk all day and having better balance and flexibility.

“Many people report better sleep, more energy, fewer aches and a greater sense of body awareness,” Walters says.

Pilates is a great form of exercise for looking more toned, but other cornerstones of health, such as maintaining a nutrient-rich diet and regular aerobic activity, are still important. Just like with diet, a well-rounded workout routine is best.

Crumbl Promises ‘We’re Just Getting Started’ After Major Company Shakeup

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:20pm

As part of a planned transition, Crumbl’s co-founders, Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan, announced that they will be stepping away from their day-to-day operating roles with the bakery chain.

Hemsley posted a letter that he and McGowan wrote on Instagram, explaining that McGowan will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, Hemsley as Chief Brand Officer and Bryce Redd as Chief Technology Officer.

“This is not a goodbye to Crumbl,” McGowan said in the letter. “We will all remain closely involved as members of the Board of Directors and founders. I will continue as Chairman of the Board. We are still deeply invested in this company, in our franchise partners, and in where Crumbl goes from here.”

The co-founders said that they believe now is the right time to bring in new leadership through an open search process.

“Getting the right people in place matters a lot, and I believe an open process will allow us to find the very best leadership to support Crumbl’s future success and stay involved to support a smooth transition,” they said.

View this post on Instagram

This leadership transition comes as Crumbl works to evolve its menu and move into its new headquarters. Hemsley called their new test kitchen Crumbl’s “dessert playground,” a space built with the future in mind.

“I’ll never stop being grateful for everyone who’s part of the Crumbl family,” Hemsley posted on Instagram in April. “And especially you, our customers. This space already has such an incredible energy. So much color, life, creativity, and passion across every team. I’m excited to get to work and build what’s next.. 2026 is going to be really special!”

Founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, Crumbl rose to fame with its unique weekly rotating menu and its virality on TikTok and Instagram. They’re one of the nation’s fastest-growing dessert companies, starting with a simple goal to bake a perfect chocolate chip cookie.

“Over the past several years, Crumbl has grown from a single store into something none of us could have imagined when we started,” Hemsley and McGowan shared in the letter. “That growth has only happened because of the people who have built it alongside us.”

'Perfect Match': Ally Lewber Says James Kennedy 'Moves Quickly' After Baby News

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:13pm

Once again, the Netflix reality TV universe has dipped into other shows. Perfect Match Season 4 has Ally Lewber of Vanderpump Rules in the cast to possibly find love. Her relationship with James Kennedy ended in early 2025. She reacted to his recent baby news.

Ally, 30, hasn't publicly dated anyone new since her ex-boyfriend. TMZ reported in May that James is expecting a child with his new girlfriend of seven months. She told Tudum how she felt when she found out about the news.

"Shocked," the astrologer said. "I didn’t know he had a girlfriend. Well, I was shocked originally, but not really at the same time. We know he moves quickly, and he always wanted to be a dad."

She said his desire was one of the ways they weren't compatible. "That was always a thing with us," Ally said. "He was so ready for all of that stuff yesterday, and I’m still not ready. We haven’t talked, so I just hope he’s happy and healthy, and I wish them the best."

The astrologer moved out of Los Angeles to Charleston. She hasn't spoken to the DJ since their breakup. The former couple dated for three years before going their separate ways.

James was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence on December 10, 2024, shortly before their break up. His lawyer later claimed he was focusing on his sobriety. The charges were dropped.

"I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges," Ally said in an Instagram post, according to E! News. "We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt. I was shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed."

The first five episodes of Perfect Match Season 4 are now available to stream on Netflix.

Costco Launches $2.99 Strawberry Shortcake Sundae in Food Courts

Fri, 05/15/2026 - 1:04pm

It's always an exciting day whenever shoppers report the debut of a brand-new treat at Costco's food courts, most especially when said treat takes the form of a flavorful new dessert exclusively found at the major warehouse supplier.

According to the ever-reliable Costco-centered food blogger costcohotfinds, the beloved brand has recently launched a new Strawberry Shortcake Sundae inside its food court.

A rich blend of creamy strawberry ice cream, soft shortcake bites and decadent strawberry topping, the dessert serves as the latest and greatest innovation to debut at Costco's food court, instantly earning shoppers' attention online.

"I was not ready for this one," costcohotfinds said in her review of the product. "The Costco food court just dropped a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae with the softest bites of shortcake. It also has strawberry ice cream and strawberry topping, and I just think that Costco has the best strawberry ice cream ever."

The new item is available for $2.99 within Costco's food courts. It's more than likely the new sundae will make its way to nationwide store locations over the next few weeks.

Of course, most of the reactions to the new dessert have been overarchingly positive, with many fans sharing their enthusiasm for the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae across social media.

"Yum! I can't wait for our warehouse to get this," one fan commented on Instagram, complete with a drooling face emoji.

"At this point... I'm just gonna move into Costco," another shopper wrote.

"Omg please tell this pregnant mama that my Costco has this," a third user shared.

With the introduction of a new dessert, costcohotfinds speculated that the brand's winter dessert, the Churro Sundae, will likely be wrapping up its time at most warehouse locations. With that being said, anyone with a deep love for cinnamon churros should think about getting their last desserts in before the item has officially vanished from Costco's food courts.
