When it comes time to retire, many people opt to leave their homes and move elsewhere. Sometimes it's because they want to downsize; other times, it's more about affordability. And while there may be all different types of motivations for making a move, seniors often look for homes that will allow them to age in place.

Thanks to a new report from Realtor.com, it sounds like those retirees and those about to retire may be able to find a fresh new wave of options in an unlikely place: Rental properties. That's because this new report says that rental prices continue to drop in most major metros. Keep reading to learn more.

A New Report Shows Rental Prices Continue to Decline

According to a report from Realtor.com, April 2026 marks the 33rd month in a row that 0- to 2-bedroom rental properties have seen a price drop. The median average fell $29, according to the report, which is 1.7 percent less than last year.

That's not all the good news, either. The 50 largest metros report a median rent of $1,673, which is $92 less than the 2022 summer peak. Rental prices are still higher than pre-pandemic levels by about $254 a month, but the numbers are trending down.

More Rental Inventory May Help Retirees

According to Realtor.com's findings, there's been a bit of a commercial real estate boom, and multifamily housing is seeing a huge spike in construction. That's especially good news for seniors who want to live somewhere with a built-in community of neighbors, especially if they are hoping to age in place.

Many of these multifamily dwellings are managed by management companies that handle routine maintenance, allowing retirees to toss out their snow shovels and lawnmowers as soon as they settle in.

However, they aren't being built at the same rate nationwide. "The story isn't the same in every region, and that matters for where renters will feel relief next," Jiayi Xu, economist at Realtor.com, said in an email to Parade. "The Northeast is already seeing new multi-family units come online and rents respond in some large markets. The West is telling a very different story."

These Metros Are Seeing the Biggest Drop in Price

Retirees who are keen on ditching the responsibility and cost of homeownership may want to consider the following metros where Realtor.com says the biggest drop in rental prices is happening:

• Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, Georgia, with a median asking price of $1,549 a month
• Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos, Texas, with a median asking price of $1,362
• Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, Maryland, with a median asking price of $1,806
• Birmingham, Alabama, with a median asking price of $1,181
• Columbus, Ohio, with a median asking price of $1,174

The Yardbirds, an English rock band formed in 1963, kickstarted the music careers of three legends—Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. All three men ranked toward the top of Rolling Stone’s list of the 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. The other band members included Jim McCarty, Chris Dreja, Paul Samwell-Smith, and Keith Relf.

Relf, who was the lead vocalist and harmonica player for the band, died at the age of 33. He was tuning an electric guitar in his basement when he was electrocuted. The incident occurred because the instrument was not properly grounded. He was later found by his young son and was buried in Richmond Cemetery. His death was announced 50 years ago today, on May 14, 1976.

When McCarty spoke about the band in a 2021 interview, he was asked how Relf felt about the guitarist (Clapton) getting more interest than him, the frontman. “That was very odd because he was a very obvious frontman," McCarty said. "When I first saw him playing with Paul I thought, this guy is a real frontman. You know, when one looks at him, he's got the long blonde hair, he's got this sort of way with him. Everyone wants to mother him. Then, when Clapton was in the band, I noticed that he got a lot of interest, a lot of people looking at him or standing on his side of the stage when he was playing, which was unusual because the frontman normally got all the attention."

McCarty also complimented Relf on his talents. “He was very good,” he said. “He loved jazz, and he loved a lot of different music, and he had his own view on things, and he was a very spiritual guy. I really got on well with him. He was probably my best friend for a long time.”

Relf co-wrote several songs for the band, including “Shapes of Things,” “Over, Under,  Sideways, Down,” and “Happenings Ten Years Time Ago.” He also went on to record a solo single called “Mr. Zero,” which reached No. 50 on the UK Singles Chart.

After the Yardbirds broke up in 1968, Relf joined several more bands, including Together and Renaissance. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

Iconic '80s heavy metal band Mötley Crue and Japanese toy and game manufacture Epoch Company, Ltd are collaborating on an exclusive trading card collection. The announcement came Thursday morning via Mötley Crue's licensing agent Global Merchandising Services.

The news comes amid the band's 2026 summer tour, Return of the Carnival of Sins, which will trek through North America until the end of September. The partnership will consist of an all-new premium Mötley Crue trading card collection that will be available for purchase across North America by December 2026 in both specialized retail outlets and mass-market locations.

The partnership marks the band's first step into the blooming trading card industry. The cards will feature rare item inserts and chase cards that include features such as authentic hand-singed cards and used concert items like guitar picks and lanyards.

Lisa Streff, Senior Vice President of licensing and brand development at Global Merchandising Services, spoke on what the collection means to her team, expressing her excitement to honor the band's legacy with this new release.

The year 1976 saw the release of numerous renowned films that are still celebrated today: Rocky, Network, All the President's Men, Taxi Driver.

"American diplomat Robert (Gregory Peck) adopts Damien (Harvey Stephens) when his wife, Katherine (Lee Remick), delivers a stillborn child. After Damien's first nanny hangs herself, Father Brennan (Patrick Troughton) warns Robert that Damien will kill Katherine's unborn child. Shortly thereafter, Brennan dies and Katherine miscarries when Damien pushes her off a balcony. As more people around Damien die, Robert investigates Damien's background and realizes his adopted son may be the Antichrist."

The film helped launch the big-screen career of Richard Donner, who would go on to direct other high-profile films such as Superman (1978), The Goonies and Lethal Weapon.

The impact of The Omen spreads far and wide, with the popular filmmaking website NoFilmSchool.com boldly claiming that it "set the satanic horror standard."

"In addition to establishing the powerful “evil child” horror archetype, The Omen blended biblical elements with pop culture," per an article published on the website just last year. "Its approach showed filmmakers how to leverage popular beliefs about the Devil to craft compelling good-versus-evil narratives."

The film was remade and released in 2006, amid the original's 30th anniversary, this time starring Julia Stiles and Liev Schreiber, though it was no match for the source material. The latest addition to the franchise was The First Omen in 2024, a prequel to The Omen.

HGTV star Jasmine Roth just announced she's pregnant with baby No. 3—on the heels of revealing a brand-new show, Roast My Rental, with comedian Leslie Jones.

On Thursday, May 14, Jasmine, the host of Help! I Wrecked My House, shared with People that she and her husband, Brett Roth, are expecting their third child.

Jasmine, 41, explained that she found out she was pregnant on the Monday after the Super Bowl when she was packing for a snowboarding trip to Japan. She thought she should take a test before they left "just to be safe."

"And sure enough, it was positive. The lines were super faint, but they were there," she recounted. "I was completely shocked and instantly emotional."

Jasmine and Brett are already parents of two daughters, Hazel, 6, and Darla, 1. Because it took her so long to get pregnant with their second child, she said they weren't expecting to see a positive pregnancy test so soon after they started trying to conceive.

"We needed medical intervention," Jasmine said of getting pregnant with Darla. "So a spontaneous pregnancy was the last thing I expected. I immediately ran downstairs to tell my husband, and he had the exact same reaction — total disbelief mixed with excitement."

"I always feel lucky."

One of the final quotes from Rick Devens on Survivor 50 is a perfect microcosm of his general attitude across 22 tumultuous days. Of course, there is the fact that the Edge of Extinction standout staked his entire game on a coin flip, adding quite a bit of coin to the overall prize fund. But the former reporter gave the scoop preseason that he was originally told he would be an alternate for the milestone season. And so just the fact he was here in Fiji was a blessing, a freedom to play no holds barred and, most importantly, find the joy. And, while he spent his last night in the game pontificating on the meaning of the stars dotting the sky, we witnessed a true star of Season 50 get snuffed out shortly thereafter.

Despite feeling he was playing with house money going into the game, Rick was still cognizant that he needed to change his play style if he wanted another deep run. And so he spent the first half of the game staying away from the idol hunts, sitting on his hands. Admittedly, those hands did come out when he was presented an opportunity courtesy of Christian Hubicki, hiding a fake idol at Tribal Council to pull out in a pinch. But Rick was more set on accruing relationships rather than idols this time. Unfortunately, perhaps the relationship he was most known for this season was far from positive. Rick and Joe Hunter's approaches to Survivor are like oil (not blood) and water. And that came to a head early on Cila, as he had a fiery argument with the fire captain that would bear out for the rest of the game.

Fortunately, Rick entered the merge with many more friends than enemies, as his tactics to lay low had gotten him into a solid spot in an enormous postmerge. But it all went up in smoke once he reached into the Tribal Council fire pit one fateful night. Knowing he and Aubry Bracco were being floated around due to the "Double Duos" twist, he grabbed his fake idol, believing the slate could simply be wiped clean tomorrow. Unfortunately, many others in the game did not see it that way. From their perspective, Rick had unnecessarily drawn attention to himself and now seemingly had an idol. And so, he suddenly found himself a familiar position: On the outside, public enemy number one.

As Rick espoused, however, the last thing you want him to do is know he's on the bottom. Because that's when the fireworks begin. Once again feeling in danger going into Tribal Council, Rick quickly commandeered the evening by throwing Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick and Jonathan Young under the bus. But his time as the star of the show was only beginning, as MrBeast entered the fray to present him with an offer he couldn't refuse. Given the chance to risk instant elimination to earn immunity, an idol and an extra million dollars to the prize fund, risky Rick jumped at the opportunity. And the Season 50 50/50 turned out well for him indeed. Over the course of mere minutes, Rick had gone from a dead man walking with a fake idol to the safest person in the game with a real idol.

Despite his game-changing choice of heads, Rick couldn't use the opportunity to get ahead in the game. While he guaranteed his safety the next round by playing his idol, he lost his number one ally in Emily Flippen. His back was against the wall, and unlike the Kool-Aid Man, he couldn't bust through it. His ordinary escape routes in idols and immunity wins were no longer options. And so he took a literal shot in the dark, hoping another gamble would work out in his favor. Alas, this would be Rick Devens' final form of Tribal Council shenanigans of the season. But he still wallked out with a trademark grin plastered across his face, and his head held high, looking aloft at the stars to light his way out of the game.

Now out of the game, Rick talks with Parade about his complicated relationship with Joe, how much that fake idol changed his game, and the emotional roller coaster of staking his entire game on MrBeast and a single coin flip.

It's safe to say you felt on the ropes during your last day in the game. Were you always going to play your Shot in the Dark? Or did you feel like Tiffany's blindside of Rizo had legs?
I was absolutely, at Tribal, determined that I was going to play that Shot. There was a time during the day when Tiff was open to this plan. And it was so funny, because that all came about [because] Tiff and Jonathan were really pretty annoyed with Joe for not taking them on the reward. Because Rizo had had a lot of food options at the auction, and Cirie, famously, was eating so much at the auction. She was regurgitating a little bit. So me and my mischievous self, I'm really playing into that. I'm like, "Yeah, didn't Rizo not drink that protein shake, Jonathan? You probably would have liked that." And so I was really hoping that they'd get that annoyed.

And so when Tiff floated this, I was on board, and Aubry was kind of the swing. And Aubry and I had really gotten a deeper relationship when we were tied together. But clearly I was more into that relationship than Aubey was. [Laughs.] As we watch it back, we see that she was loyal to me then, but not really loyal to me after that. And I think that's better in gameplay. As much as I say, "I don't care if you play with honor and integrity," and that's true, I'm super loyal. I'm not going to write Christian's name down; I'm not going to write Emily's name down. And Aubry became that, until she wasn't. And I was never going to write Cirie's name down until she had to pick a side. And she ended up not picking our side, which I think was probably the right move.

So there did seem like there could be momentum. And Tiff even told me, l"You've got to stop looking for the idol, dude. You are freaking everybody out,. You've got to chill if we're going to make this work." And I did, and that's when I'm in the hammock. And finally, I went to Tiff and was like, "I don't think this is going to work. I'm going to go look for the idol." And she was like, "I think you're right. Go for it." Because at that point, she wants me to find the idol, then her plan gets done anyway. So I love Tiff. I love that she tried to make it happen. But by the time I got to Tribal, I knew it's the Shot in the Dark. And dude, I was riding so high from the MrBeast thing, I'm like, "It'll probably hit!"

Well, let's talk about another moment where people were freaking out around you having an idol. It seemed like the pivot point of your game came when you pulled out the fake you had hidden during the "Double Duos" Tribal Council. What led you to do that in that moment, and what was your reaction to how people were responding to it?
So honestly, I was so in love with the idea of playing this fake idol. I mean, Christian and I had done this amazing heist where he falls, and we plant a fake idol at Tribal. So it's a nightmare to think I'm going to go home without using it. So I felt very at risk that night. I'm still not convinced that I wouldn't go home. When I talk about revisionist history, dude, you know that people will say things now that they didn't necessarily feel there. I mean, everyone's like, "We knew it was fake." And it's like, well, the whole next episode you're still acting like it's real!

So A, I did feel at risk. B, the idea of going home without playing it was a nightmare. And then it's a two-for-one. I can save Aubry, and I can save myself. Whereas the other nightmare scenario is like, okay, we wait a week, maybe Christian and I are the targets. One of us grabs the fake idol, and it gets the other voted out. That would be awful if I was the reason Christian went home, because I got the fake idol that we both planted.

So I knew Christian's basically safe at this duo thing because he's tied to Jonathan. So I just felt like it was the perfect moment to do it. And again, in my mind, I'm like, "Okay, I can hold onto it. For all they know, I have a real idol because I can't play it tonight. I've got to come up with an excuse why I'm not playing it." But I thought it was just the right moment to go to it. And I thought it was so interesting how many people criticized or Monday-morning quarterbacked how I went for it. It's like, guys, it worked!

Like people doing impressions of you?
Jealous, jealous. They wish they could come up with a move like this. [Laughs.] But no, it was so fun, and I loved it.

Let's get into the person who ended up doing that impression of you: Joe. It's clear the two of you just have different opinions of how to play Survivor. And we see this rocky relationship all the way back from an early argument with Cila all the way to last week's episode, when he said what you were doing at that Stephenie Tribal Council was "inappropriate" and "disgusting." Talk to me about your perspective on this dynamic.
So before I get into our dynamic out there, I just want you to know I love Joe. We talked a lot during the season, sending apologies back and forth. He's a dad; I respect him. I'm looking forward to our kids playing together at the finale. Love Joe. Any fan who meets Joe will not be disappointed. He's a great guy, and he's going to give you a great experience.

It's a real shame that things took a turn, because I think I showed during the season, as much as I'm all about playing a deceptive game and having fun and doing all these things, I'm super loyal. I'm never writing Christian's name down. I'm never writing Emily's name down, even in a revote when I know it's failed. That's just not the way I'm going to be. And I think that sends a message to the jury about the way you're playing. That's much more helpful than going back to camp and saying, "Well, I didn't write your name down the second time." People don't care. You tried to write me down the first time! I don't care about that.

So I do think if we could have gotten back on the same page, I could have been a really good ally to Joe. And I will say I was surprised during the season at how much I was on his mind. I'm not a bad person because I'm playing a game hard. I keep all my commentary to gameplay, and he does too. By and large, I think we have that in common.

But I think our difference in opinion is I feel like, as an ally, I'm taking care of you, if I'm protecting you, and if I'm never coming after you, if I'm looking out for our interest. But I don't think that means I need to tell you all my secrets. I had planned to hide a fake idol before Christian found the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol, and [then] he found that. So, okay, I told him, because we can use that wrapper, and it's great. I still don't tell Emily and Cirie, who at that point I'm totally loyal with, because it doesn't affect them. So that's fine to me. But I think Joe, from watching the season, it's like he really wants you to tell him all the secrets and be filled in, which is a fine perspective.

But, yeah, we kind of hugged it out on that beach and said we're good after that argument. And clearly, we were not good on either of our parts. [Laughs.] But that being said, if I think if I felt the same way Joe had, I would have voted him out and kept Genevieve at that one split. But I felt likeJoe's such an honest guy that when he tells me, "We're good," we're good. I just did not realize that I'd gotten under his skin as much as I had as a game player. But I really have a lot of respect for Joe. It's just a shame that one tiny little thing of bad gameplay on my part, coming up with a stupid lie, it shows you how much of a ripple effect that can have throughout a season.

The thing he assigns this "inappropriate" label to is this MrBeast Tribal Council where Stephenie goes home. We need to go through the big hits of perhaps the pinnacle of your Survivor career. It seems like you immediately sit down and blow up the game, saying Stephenie and Jonathan approached you and Aubry about targeting Ozzy. Was that true? And did you do this because you felt you were in danger going into tribal?
Okay, let me take it step by step. It's 100% true, and I felt like that was a real key, to be honest. Like, "Ozzy, I was comfortable voting for you also. Rizo, I threw your name out." I thought that was a real key in my strategy of letting people know that I was being honest. Whereas Stephenie, her response was, "Oh, I never did anything, I never did anything. I never did anything." And that's why I say, "I think thou doth protest too much." It's like, now I'm just trying to be quiet and let you sink your own ship.

And yeah, it was because I thought that I was at risk. I thought for sure I was the number one target going into that Tribal. But I didn't think, as I'm trying to put myself in other people's shoes, that getting rid of me was good for Cirie or Tiff or Rizo or Ozzy, and certainly not for Aubry and Emily. Because I'm a heat-seeking missile at Joe and Jonathan and Steph at this point. Because they tease me in on this plan, and then they're like, "Oh, well, it didn't work out. We'll just cut Devens."

So again, I think it was a great move. I'm very proud of. That's almost what I'm most proud of all season. Because, yeah, the fake idol was a big, flashy thing. The coin toss, I love the way I went at it, but it's a big risk. Whereas this was a plan. "I'm going to go in and I'm going to try to turn the tables." And I'm not sure to this day whether or not it would have worked. Because I don't trust people's revisionist history. What you're saying now is not necessarily what you were feeling out there. But again, nothing personal came out of my mouth. I didn't say, "Oh, so and so's a bad person" or anything. It was strictly gameplay. They told me too much information. Now I'm sharing with you the information. And just like with the fake idol, I try to make it a big splash and then kind of sink back and let other people work it out. As soon as Tiff jumped in, as soon as Cirie started asking follow-ups, it's like, "Alright, I got the ball rolling. Let's see where this goes."

So I don't think it was disgusting. I thought it was great. That's exactly the type of gameplay I like to root for on Survivor: Big, bold moves. I'm not going out quiet. I'm going out fighting.

Well, you were able to sink back soon after this because you earn immunity through taking the "MrBeast Super Beware Advantage" and flipping that coin. Walk me through the emotional roller coaster of those moments, from jumping up at the chance to do it to the coin landing on heads to then having to immerse yourself back in the game during a live Tribal Council.
Well, so as I'm going up to flip the coin, I gotta tell you, my confidence was stupid! [Laughs.] I was just so sure that it was gonna hit. And I was at peace with the fact that, if this is the way I go out, no one in 50 seasons has gone out by a coin flip. It's fine, they can say they didn't vote me out. But I was sure it was gonna hit, Mike. I had no doubt my mind I was landing this, which is insane. Looking back on it, like, "What are you talking about?! It's 50/50!" But also, as much as I thought I'd turn the tables on Steph, I wasn't positive. So I say out there it's a better chance than the Shot in the Dark. So I was very much at peace with it. I was ready to roll.

And then when it hit, I'm over the moon. Even Jeff's like, "Alright, well, now we got to get back in." And I'm like, "Jeff, can I have the coin?" He's like, "Devens, I'm trying to do something here! We can talk about that after." Like, "Sorry, Jeff. I had adrenaline just pumping through my body."

Did you get to keep the coin?
I have not gotten the coin. And I asked for it again at the end of the game. And there's more than one coin apparently, because they knew it would be such a big moment. I'm like, "You've got to give me that coin."

But when I go back to the bench, in my mind, I've already done enough to put the target on Steph. I know that the other person's probably Aubry, which I don't want to go. But whenever I make a big splash, I try to sink back, and that includes going back to camp. I'm not mouthing off; I'm trying to shrink back. The next morning is the calmest Devens you'll get! [Laughs.] I'm leaving camp, maybe I'll go dance away from you, but that's not in front of anybody. I'm trying to sink back in the shadows — always unsuccessfully, obviously. [Laughs.] But no, from that point, I just felt like I'd done enough. I probably won't even have a vote; I assumed Steph would steal my vote. So, yeah, I was just riding high, going, "Wow, I'm safe tonight. I'm safe tomorrow night. This is great."

Well, I think that high is a representation of the general gratitude you had in every phase of this game. I know you spoke to me about being an alternate forthis season at one point, which gave you this freedom, knowing there was one time when you wouldn't be out here. And I think, as much as you talked about looking up at the stars and seeing those who support you from miles away, we got the chance to look at a star ourselves light up our screens for 12 weeks.
Thank you, dude. You have such a way with words. You're such a poet. I love it. I never forgot that this was Season 50, and that I wanted to give the fans something special. And I never forgot all the players that wanted on 50 so badly and didn't get it, because I remember how much my heart hurt when they told me I was an alternate and I felt like I wasn't going to get on the show. So I never wanted a player at home to go, "Devens took a spot that was wasted."

One person's going to win the game, and I don't want anyone to have any doubt that was my focus. Even when I make a big target of myself, that's what happened on 38, and I almost got there. But I also will never be sitting in a Final Three and looking at zero votes not have anything to plead. That's just not going to be the way I play. If I become a target too early, I take great pride in being a target. [Laughs.] I think that means you're doing something that's putting people on edge.

Country music fan favorite Maren Morris is set to appear on Sheriff Country as the first season of the Fire Country spin-off nears the end.

As Parade reported, Morris has been tapped to play Hazel, Skye’s (Amanda Arcuri) sponsor, on the Friday, May 15 episode of the CBS drama.

Sheriff Country fans know that when the season kicked off, Skye was newly out of rehab. Although she’s been on the straight and narrow all season, that’s about to change, which means Hazel is needed more than ever.

The official Instagram for Sheriff Countryposted a video of Morris on set filming the show, teasing her character.

“I play Hazel, and she is Skye’s NA sponsor, and she’s very compassionate and soft and funny, but she’s also like you cannot mess with her. She’s very no B.S. No frills. You can’t get much past her,” she expressed.

Morris also revealed what it was like filming the hit CBS drama.

“I think the most exciting, cool thing I have learned is it’s fun to be on set. I think once you know your lines, you kind of just get to like, play. And every take is like a new surprise, and you just listen to your co-stars and enjoy it. I think I was psyching myself up that it was going to be really heavy or serious, but it’s actually been quite the opposite,” the country singing sensation shared.

Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 19 is titled “Compromised.” It focuses on the fallout from Wes’ bombshell, as well as on Mickey and her team working to bring down the company, pressuring Edgewater residents to sell their land.

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors" record may have been released in 1977, but it's had a whole new life on Spotify over the last two decades.

According to data recently released by the streaming platform, celebrating it's 20th anniversary, the album was streamed 8.3 billion times since the music hub's 2006 launch.

The record, which brought fans iconic songs like "Go Your Own Way" and "Dreams" was also discovered to be Spotify's oldest of its all-time top 100 albums.

And while it saw immediate success upon its release, as its spent a record 31 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Billboard.com, it stayed popular for decades to come, transcending the way music fans tuned in — from records to streaming.

"Dreams" also saw a resurgence in its own right in 2020, following a viral TikTok where a man was riding a skateboard and drinking cranberry juice in a video that was soundtracked to the song. The band's 2023 release of 'Rumors: Live' also saw major success on the Billboard chart.

However at the time of its recording, interband relationships were falling apart. Stevie Nicksand Lindsey Buckingham were ending their relationship, while Christine and John McVie were divorcing — a factor that Nicks said years later, played a part in the album's success.

"Everybody was breaking up and of course that always adds for really great songwriting," she told Red Carpet News TV in 2013. "There was kind of a passion thing that was going on and some anger, but still we never let that get in the way, that was never brought into the studio, but what was brought into the studio was great words, great poems, great music and everybody dug it."

"Even though we were all kind of in chaos everybody was like, 'Well that was great,'" she added. "That'll never happen again, that was a moment we can never recreate."

It's become almost a given that Disney will introduce new limited-time treats to celebrate a major holiday.

Whether looking at their limited-edition offerings for Halloween or Christmas, there's no question that Disney's iconic theme parks do seasonal celebrations right. Case in point with the upcoming arrival of several new food items planned for Disneyland, all of which will tie into the country's historic 250th anniversary this Fourth of July.

According to a new post on Instagram, Disneyland is set to roll out a variety of patriotic meals, snacks and other treats for the upcoming holiday. These new treats include:

Actor Matt Dillon may be known for his diverse film roles, but it turns out he also has a thriving second career.

Dillon, 62, kicked off his career in the early '80s in films like Little Darlings and The Outsiders. Dillion sat down with The New York Times Style Magazine and revealed his second career as an artist. While he doesn't have any formal art training, he grew up surrounded by art and artists. As an adult, he took up painting during quiet times on movie sets and during breaks in hotel rooms. But it was just about ten years ago that the actor decided to delve into large-scale pieces and finally rented his first studio.

How Does Matt Dillon Feel About the 'Celebrity Artist' Stereotype?

In the NYT article, Dillon was asked if he thinks about being perceived as a celebrity painter.

“I like doing different things,” he replied. “I guess that can work for you or against you.”

The actor and artist continued, speaking about the desire of the world to pigeonhole people.

“[Some] people are always going to say, ‘You go over here in this little corner,’” he added. “The big struggles for me, and probably for a lot of artists, are control and freedom and discipline. The joy is when you accept the thing after you’ve wrestled with it for a long time.”

What's Next for Matt Dillon?

Don't worry about Dillon giving up acting, however. The actor is set to lead the upcoming Magnificent Seven series adaptation at MGM+, Variety confirmed in February. Dillon will play Chris Adams, the role originated by Yul Brynner in the original 1960 film.

Variety shared a description of Dillon's character, and it sounds like a doozie.

“Stoic, steady under pressure, and with an unflinching gaze that does most of the talking for him, Chris has no patience for hypocrisy or cruelty and holds fast to a quiet moral code rooted in fairness and restraint," the description reads.

The "Pie Queens" at Marie Callender's are at it again.

The iconic bakery and restaurant brand is known for its homestyle cooking and ever-growing list of frozen pot pies, pasta dishes, casseroles, and, of course, its desserts, which include thaw-and-enjoy pies, ready-to-bake pies and even mini, single-serve pies.

Now, Parade has it on good word that the 78-year-old company is planning to release two new desserts this year, both of which appear to be the first-of-its-kind for Marie Callender's: Salted Caramel Apple and Cherry Berry hand pies.

Marie Callender's Rumored to Release New Hand Pie Collection

According to early reports, Marie Callender's all-new Hand Pies were introduced this past February during Conagra Brands' presentation in the annual Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) conference.

While the brand hasn't publicly announced the new product, images of the items began circling on social media late last night with fans excitedly tagging their friends, family and loved ones in the post to alert them of the rumored drop.

Based on the photos, Marie Callender's new Hand Pies appear to be a new take on the brand's famous single-serve pies. Somewhat of a cross between a dessert empanada and a Hot Pocket, the treats appear to feature a pie crust shell that serves as the crunchy, structured pocket to hold all the warm, gooey, fruity fillings.

Many details, including nutrition facts and when and where the new collection will be sold, are currently unclear. That said, the blogger in the know (CandyHunting) suggested it would be released this year for certain, and given their reputation for successfully predicting upcoming launches, we're confident in their reporting and hopeful to hear more about the release in the coming weeks, as both hand pies sound like late summer-early fall flavors to us.

Parade reached out to a Conagra Brands spokesperson for comment.

SPAM is introducing a brand-new, first-of-its-kind product just in time for summer grilling season! Plain frozen hot dogs? No way. Now you can get a SPAM Dog. That’s right, the classic pre-cooked shelf-stable luncheon meat is, in Hormel’s words, “stepping out of the can.”

What Is a SPAM Dog?

It’s all in the name. This new summer selection is exactly what it sounds like—a hot dog made from SPAM. The pork-based product has the same great taste SPAM connoisseurs already enjoy. But instead of cracking open a can and frying up slices on the stove, you can get the salty, savory flavor in a bun. 

Where Can You Get the New SPAM Dog?

Sadly, you won’t find this dog in your local grocery store. The item is currently only available to foodservice operators. And that means it’s not a direct-to-consumer option for the summer. But don’t worry. You can still get your hands (or rather, taste buds) on this kind of crazy creation.

While Hormel is already rolling out the delish dogs in some regional markets, it will officially debut at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. Haley Eggum, brand manager of SPAM, said, in a press release, “We’re excited to be rolling out the SPAM Dog and the opportunity it creates for foodservice operators to offer something both familiar and surprising.”

Eggum continued, “It’s a fresh new take on a hot dog with the unmistakable flavor that SPAM fans know and love.” 

Even though you can’t pick up a pack at Costco, Sam’s, or your other favorite retailer, you could find this taste treat at the ballpark. After all, what goes better with a day of baseball than a hot dog? And it looks like this summer, stadiums around the country will carry the SPAM Dog for the first time. 

Along with select stadiums such as CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, and LMCU ballpark in Comstock, Michigan, this pork-packed pick is also coming to convenience chains, including Rutters in the Northeast and a handful of ABC and 7-Eleven stores.

So what do shoppers think about this mini masterpiece? When Hormel Foods announced the SPAM Dog on Instagram, customers had plenty to say. Comments on the post poured in, with fans saying, “Never needed a dog so bad!”, “Now you guys are getting crazy,” and “Ooh! Where can I get this gloriousness! I’m going pineapple slaw/relish with @trybachans BBQ sauce and King's Hawaiian buns.... Maybe with a smear of harissa!”

High blood pressure isn’t something that happens overnight. It creeps up slowly and can even be decades in the making. Once blood pressure progresses from balanced to too high, you might not even realize it. Case in point: In the U.S., 11 million adults with high blood pressure don’t know they have it.

Since high blood pressure doesn’t usually have symptoms, it’s easy to brush it off as not a big deal. But that would be a huge mistake. When left untreated, high blood pressure can significantly increase the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure and chronic kidney disease. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, high blood pressure was a primary or contributing cause of 664,470 deaths in the U.S. in 2023, the most recent year for which data is available.

This is why it’s so important to know your risk, no matter how old (or young) you are. With this in mind, we talked to three cardiologists about what blood pressure risk looks like by decade and the best ways to keep it in check.  Even if you're on the younger side, this is worth reading, because high blood pressure in younger adults is becoming increasingly common.

What Your Blood Pressure Risk Looks Like by Decade, According to Cardiologists20s

“High blood pressure in your 20s used to be unusual. It's not anymore. I'm seeing more young patients with elevated readings, and when I do, I'm not dismissing it. Instead, I’m asking why,” says Dr. Sanjay Bhojraj, MD, FACC, an interventional cardiologist and functional medicine doctor.

While age is a significant risk factor for high blood pressure, if someone has high blood pressure in their 20s, this is not the cause. Instead, Dr. Bhojraj notes that the most common reasons for high blood pressure in your 20s are sleep deprivation, chronic stress, high energy drink consumption and a diet high in ultra-processed foods.

“If you're in your 20s and your blood pressure is elevated, that's your body waving a flag early. Pay attention to it,” Dr. Bhojraj says.

Dr. Christopher Davis, MD, FACC, the chief cardiologist at Humann, says that for everyone, the 20s are when habits are formed that will impact health for decades to come—for better or for worse. “This is one of the most important decades for your future health. The habits you build in your 20s can either protect you—or set you up for problems later,” he tells Parade.

How can you lay the foundation for a heart-healthy lifestyle that will support you both now and decades down the road? Dr. Jay Chudow, MD, a cardiologist at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care, says this includes following a heart-healthy diet (which is one that’s high in whole grains and vegetables and low in salt, added sugars and highly processed foods), exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, consistently getting enough sleep and effectively knowing how to manage stress. 

30s

Your 30s are when the body first starts to show signs of wear and tear, Dr. Bhojraj says. This can look like weight gain and insulin resistance, both of which are connected to high blood pressure. “Approximately 40% of men and 24% of women have been diagnosed with high blood pressure in their 30s,” Dr. Chudow adds. 

Stress starts to really take a toll on people in their 30s, which in turn can increase blood pressure. “Stress is one of the most underrecognized drivers. Chronic stress activates the sympathetic nervous system, increasing heart rate, constricting blood vessels and elevating blood pressure. Over time, this leads to sustained hypertension and vascular damage if not addressed,” Dr. Davis says.

If you are in your 30s and haven’t figured out a way to effectively manage stress yet, consider this your sign to do so. Otherwise, it could impact your cardiovascular health.

All three cardiologists also say that pregnancy can greatly impact blood pressure, something all women of childbearing age should be aware of. “Pregnancy is genuinely one of the most powerful cardiovascular stress tests a woman will ever undergo,” Dr. Bhojraj says. If someone has high blood pressure during pregnancy, this is a predictor that they are at higher risk for experiencing high blood pressure in the future. 

“It is important for pregnant women to have their blood pressure monitored and, if diagnosed with hypertension, it is treated appropriately,” Dr. Chudow says.

40s and 50s

“In your 40s and 50s, we see a sharp increase in risk,” Dr. Davis says. He explains that this is because blood vessels naturally become stiffer over time, and the cumulative effects of lifestyle, stress and metabolic health begin to show up more clearly.

Dr. Chudow adds to this, saying that approximately 57% of men and 53% of women in their 40s and 50s have high blood pressure.

All three cardiologists say that women in menopause are diagnosed with high blood pressure at a sharper rate than pre-menopausal women. Dr. Bhojraj explains that this is because estrogen is protective for blood vessel health, and estrogen decreases during menopause. “Estrogen helps keep vessels flexible and supports healthy nitric oxide production, which naturally keeps things relaxed and open. When estrogen declines, you lose some of that protection,” he says.

This doesn’t mean that high blood pressure is inevitable after menopause. The cardiologists all say that it just means paying more attention to what you can control, which will in turn support your blood pressure: diet, exercise, sleep and stress management.

Dr. Bhojraj tells Parade that the 40s and 50s are also an important time to get advanced screenings. “Coronary CT scans and in-depth labs look at subtle cholesterol and metabolic metrics and can give you a much more precise picture of what's actually happening in your arteries, beyond what standard labs show,” he says.

60s and Beyond

Considering that the risk for high blood pressure increases with age, being 60 or older means staying on top of your health, including knowing what your blood pressure numbers actually are. “High blood pressure rates continue to increase over the age of 60, with over 70% of both men and women carrying this diagnosis,” Dr. Chudow says.

Here’s what all three cardiologists want everyone 60 and older to know: It’s never too late to take control of your health and turn your blood pressure numbers around. If you do have high blood pressure, talk with your doctor about how you can lower it, including by taking medication, if necessary. 

“The body is remarkably adaptable. Even later in life, improving fitness, nutrition and metabolic health can significantly lower blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular risk. It’s never too late to make meaningful change,” Dr. Davis says.

Dr. Bhojraj agrees, sharing, “The only time improving habits doesn’t work is if you’re already dead. The body has a remarkable capacity to respond, even later in life. Meaningful improvements in blood pressure and cardiovascular risk are possible at any age when someone genuinely shifts their diet, sleep, movement and stress load.”

He adds that when blood pressure is lowered, it’s not just the numbers that change. Lower blood pressure means more energy, better sleep and sharper thinking. You’ll not only be healthier, but you’ll feel healthier, too.

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is back in the spotlight after a striking new look surfaced on social media, quickly setting off a wave of fan reactions and double takes online.

In a new Cameo video shared by a fan, Brown debuted a noticeably different look. He appears to have traded in his signature blonde ringlets for a shorter style and what appears to be his natural gray hair.

The video was posted to the social media site in tribute to a fan who received it as a Mother's Day gift. A photo of Brown's former look is used as a profile image.

In the clip, the reality television star, who once lived a polygamist lifestyle where he had four wives, began by sharing his thoughts about the day that celebrates mothers. Brown was previously married to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown. He is legally wed to Robyn Brown.

"Mother's Day is a very special day. Mothers need to be exonerated because it's a wonderful job, right, but it's a tough job," he began.

He told the fan that her husband requested this video from him because she was a big fan of polygamy shows. Brown responded, "Most polygamy shows are awful. The reason you like our show, it wasn't a polygamy show, it was a family show, until recently, when I think it became too toxic."

The video clip sparked fan reaction on a Reddit thread titled, "Kody cut off his ringlets."

"Somehow, I think it's a worse haircut than the ringlets. If that's even possible," wrote one follower.

A third Sister Wives viewer wrote, "I’m pretty sure that even if he had considered shaving it before, he definitely wouldn’t now because everything in his mind seems to be a competition. The way he thinks, he would probably convince himself that people would assume he was trying to imitate David [Woolley, Christine's husband], and he would never want to feel like he was looking up to someone or doing something because of them."

Sister Wives is currently on hiatus. The series airs on TLC.
