’70s Music Icons' 'Wild' Fashion Is Turning Heads After 51 Years
In the mid-1970s, when fashion was all about vibrant, bold and fearless style, Tina Turner and Cher took things to another level and made a headline-grabbing moment on national television.
Decades later, the music icons’ appearance continues to turn heads and spark conversations on social media thanks to their fashion-forward looks.
On April 27, 1975, Tina Turner made a memorable guest appearance on The Cher Show, joining Cher for a high-energy performance of “Shame, Shame, Shame” that instantly became a standout television moment.
During the episode, the duo’s powerful vocals and synchronized choreography were not the only remarkable details, as their iconic outfits also stole the spotlight.
At that time, the Goddess of Pop and the “What’s Love Got to Do With It” hitmaker had a twinning moment after stepping out in a jaw-dropping Bob Mackie ensemble.
The music legends wore a halter dress in vibrant pink, black and turquoise with fringe details that added movement, fun and flair to the overall look.
Bob Mackie designs worn by Cher and Tina Turner are seen on display at Icons & Idols: Hollywood & Street Contemporary Art Auction preview with Julien's Auctions at The Standard Oil Building Beverly Hills on November 12, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California. The American fashion designer, who had long collaborated with Cher, added small round mirrors to the dress, giving it a dazzling effect and making it shimmer with every movement on stage.
Fifty-one years later, the episode found a resurgence after the clip sparked buzz on social media.

After 10 Months, This Eight-Part Thriller Based on Stephen King’s 2019 Novel Is Finally Climbing the Streaming Charts
If you haven’t watched The Institute on MGM+, you’re probably not alone, and part of that is due to the streaming platform that it’s on. The eight-part series is based on Stephen King’s 2019 novel of the same name, and it was released in July 2025.
It’s only just climbing the streaming charts, hitting the No. 2 spot for MGM+’s most-streamed movies and shows earlier this month. The only show ahead of it is From, which has just started its fourth season, already has a loyal following, and was highly anticipated.
‘The Institute’ Has Already Been Renewed for Season 2The good news is that if you’re just getting started with the series or if you’ve been on the fence, The Institute Season 2 has already been confirmed by MGM+. While it’s only just climbing the charts, the platform was happy with the original, and the second season is expected to be released in 2026.
The series is considered formulaic, and it’s not going to hook every viewer. However, it’s a clean adaptation of the original source material, and 64% of critics liked it. King was also happy with the series, sharing that it captured the spirit of the original novel.
About the Book ‘The Institute’ by Stephen KingKing’s novel follows a teen genius who wakes up to find himself in a strange place. He’s surrounded by children with various psychic abilities, but there is something much shadier going on. Throughout the thriller, this teen has to figure out who the organization is behind the place only known as The Institute.
The eight-part series stars Ben Barnes, Joe Freeman, and Simone Miller. It was released weekly on MGM+, with the second season confirmed just a day after the Season 1 finale aired. It was originally optioned in 2019 with David E. Kelley adapting it as a limited series. However, within a few years, Benjamin Cavell was announced as writer and executive producer.
1984 Classic Pop Song, Banned by Some Radio Stations, Became a No. 1 Hit
When Madonna released “Like a Virgin” in late 1984, the pop single quickly became one of the most talked-about songs in music.
Some conservative radio stations reportedly banned the track because of its suggestive lyrics and Madonna’s bold public image. Instead of slowing the song down, the controversy helped push it higher on the charts.
Released on Oct. 31, 1984, “Like a Virgin” became Madonna’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Dance Club Songs chart on Dec. 15, 1984.
The single also reached No. 1 in Australia, Canada and across Europe, while selling more than six million copies worldwide. The success turned Madonna from a rising singer into a global superstar and helped define pop music in the 1980s.

The song served as the lead single from Madonna’s second studio album, Like a Virgin, which was released on Nov. 12, 1984. Produced by Nile Rodgers, the album later became Madonna’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and eventually sold more than 21 million copies worldwide.
The song sparked debate almost immediately after its release. According to Classical Music, conservative groups criticized the lyrics and accused the song of promoting sex outside marriage. Some radio stations reportedly refused to play it because of Madonna’s provocative image and the song’s suggestive title.
Still, the bans only increased public curiosity. The catchy dance-pop production, paired with Madonna’s playful performance style, made the track impossible to ignore. Music critics praised the song’s hooks, bassline and memorable chorus, while audiences helped turn it into one of the defining songs of the decade.
The music video also became a major part of the song’s success. Directed by Mary Lambert, the video featured Madonna traveling through Venice in a gondola while wearing both a black outfit and a white wedding dress.
One of the song’s biggest moments came during the inaugural MTV Video Music Awards in 1984. Madonna performed “Like a Virgin” while wearing a wedding dress and emerging from a giant wedding cake. During the performance, she rolled across the stage after losing one of her shoes, creating one of the most unforgettable moments in MTV history.
Over the decades, “Like a Virgin” remained one of Madonna’s most recognized songs. She performed it on several world tours, including the Virgin Tour, Blond Ambition Tour, Confessions Tour, MDNA Tour, Rebel Heart Tour and Celebration Tour.
In 2023, the Library of Congress selected the Like a Virgin album for preservation in the National Recording Registry because of its cultural and historical importance.
More than four decades after its release, “Like a Virgin” remains one of the most influential pop songs ever recorded; a track that survived criticism, radio bans and controversy to become a chart-topping classic.

OnlyFans Models Slam HBO's 'Euphoria' for Recent Controversial Storylines: 'Beyond Troubling'
Viewers might be a tad on the fence about the final season of HBO's Euphoria, but few viewers are as outright hostile to the new season as the OnlyFans creators the show is seemingly satirizing.
According to a new story from Variety, multiple OnlyFans models are up in arms about a new storyline within the show's final season, which heavily revolves around Sydney Sweeney's character Cassie attempting to become an OnlyFans adult content creator.
Above all else, Variety reported that the OnlyFans creators were most upset about the kind of content Cassie was creating for the platform, believing it brought too much "stigma" to the potentially lucrative adults-only service.
In particular, these creators pointed to two controversial scenes which saw Sweeney's character dress up as a dog and a baby, subjects that are strictly off-limits when it comes to the kind of the content OnlyFans allows on their platform.
“There’s just a lot that’s ridiculous and cartoonish about it,” a longtime OnlyFans creator told Variety. "There’s so much that they have her doing that is not even allowed on OnlyFans, and that alone is infuriating: the age-play stuff where she’s dressed as a baby in a diaper, for example. Credit card processors have very strict rules that you have to abide by, and the rules are getting stricter all the time.”
Similarly, Maitland Ward, an OnlyFans creator previously known for her role on the sitcomBoy Meets World, expressed her disappointment at the way the show presented OnlyFans models and the kinds of content they create.
“In the climate we’re in, that they dressed her up as a baby to make pornographic OnlyFans content was beyond troubling and again serves to perpetuate stereotypes that sex workers have no moral compass and that they will do anything for money,” said Ward. “And there’s always this untrue stigma that somehow sex work is synonymous with sex trafficking and abuse. And they just said, let’s make a joke of it. That is so funny. I’m not laughing.”

Bestselling Author’s Novel That Became a 2025 Hit Thriller Ranked Among ‘Most Streamed Audiobooks of All Time’ on Spotify
When it comes to thriller authors, there is one fans adore reading for her iconic twists and turns. Freida McFadden, who recently shared her real name, has gone from self-published to published, and readers cannot get enough. With the success of The Housemaid, it was turned into an epic thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried in 2025, but it’s the novel that drew people in first.
Spotify released its list of most-streamed audiobooks of all time. Granted, the addition of audiobooks on the music streaming platform is relatively new, considering Spotify itself has turned 20, but it doesn’t negate that Premium users have adored the ability to listen to audiobooks easily, and McFadden is on the list.
Freida McFadden Fans Love Listening to ‘The Housemaid’While there’s no doubt that fantasy and romantasy are among the most popular on Spotify, The Housemaid by McFadden sits in a respectable ninth position out of the 20 on the list. It is the highest ranking thriller book on the list, with another of her books, The Boyfriend, also on the list in 18th place.
It’s not surprising that this novel ended up becoming one of the most streamed in 2025. The movie was released at the end of the year, with plenty of hype surrounding it in the run-up. This was one of those twisty thrillers that leaves you guessing until the end, especially as you learn the truth of Nina Winchester’s actions.
The Housemaid is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 73% critic score. The audience was even more impressed, rating it 93%.
‘The Housemaid’ Makes You Question the Charming GuyThis was arguably the novel that put McFadden on the map. Sure, she had some excellent hits before that as a self-published author, but it was The Housemaid that made people sit up and listen. It’s her first to be made into a movie, with the sequel also getting the movie treatment. McFadden’s upcoming novel, The Divorce, is also going to be turned into a movie.
Throughout the thriller, we’re left wondering what is going on with Nina Winchester. Sweeney’s Milly Calloway gets a second chance in life when she lands the job as the live-in housemaid at the Winchester house. Everything seems to be perfect, but then things with Nina change, as she starts accusing Milly of breaking things, messing up dates, and more.
While it looks like Nina is trying to damage Milly’s reputation, there is something much bigger going on. Sadly, Milly doesn’t realize it until it’s a little too late.
1974 Hit Film, Given a Darker Ending After Bitter Feud, Ranked Among Greatest Films of All Time
In 1974, director Roman Polanski and screenwriter Robert Towne famously battled over the ending of Chinatown, but the darker conclusion they ultimately landed on helped turn the neo-noir into one of the most acclaimed films in Hollywood history.
Released in June 1974, Chinatown starred Jack Nicholson as private investigator J.J. “Jake” Gittes alongside Faye Dunaway and John Huston. Set against a backdrop of corruption, greed and water-rights scandals in 1930s Los Angeles, the film became a critical sensation and is now widely regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made. The American Film Institute ranked it No. 19 on its list of the 100 Greatest Films of All Time, while AFI also named it the second-greatest mystery film ever made, second only to the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock classic Vertigo.
But two of the movie’s defining elements nearly looked completely different.
Towne originally envisioned a far more hopeful ending in which Evelyn Mulwray (Dunaway) survived and the villains faced consequences; he also didn't think Mulwray and Gittes should become romantically involved. Polanski strongly disagreed on both counts, believing the film needed a bleaker conclusion to stand apart from a more traditional Hollywood thriller. According to Turner Classic Movies, the dispute became one of the most famous creative clashes of 1970s filmmaking.
Polanski later explained exactly why he fought for the darker ending
“I was alone in wanting Gittes and Evelyn Mulwray to go to bed together, and Towne and I couldn't agree on an ending. Towne wanted the evil tycoon to die and his daughter, Evelyn, to live. He wanted a happy ending; all would turn out okay for her after a short spell in jail. I knew that if Chinatown was to be special, not just another thriller where the good guys triumph in the final reel, Evelyn had to die."
The disagreement went beyond the ending itself. Polanski reportedly felt Towne’s original screenplay was too sprawling and demanded major cuts and rewrites before filming began. In his autobiography, Polanski said the script “simply couldn't have been filmed as it stood.”
Towne eventually acknowledged that Polanski’s instincts had been correct, even though the darker ending initially frustrated him. The devastating final scene, which ends with the now-iconic line “Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown,” became central to the film’s legacy and helped cement its cynical, morally ambiguous tone.
The screenplay itself had already attracted attention long before production began. Towne loosely based the story on real corruption scandals connected to California water rights during the early 20th century, blending political greed with deeply personal tragedy. Producer Robert Evans reportedly purchased the screenplay based only on Towne’s one-line story pitch before the writer spent roughly 18 months developing the script into a finished screenplay.
Production on the film was often tense. Polanski clashed repeatedly with cast and crew members, including Dunaway and even Nicholson at times. Nicholson later admitted of the director, “He's an irritating person whether he's making a movie or not making a movie.”
Despite the friction behind the scenes, the finished movie earned 11 Academy Award nominations and won the Oscar for Towne’s screenplay. Critics praised the film’s haunting atmosphere and bleak worldview, which many felt reflected the growing distrust and Watergate-era cynicism of the 1970s.
More than 50 years later, Chinatown continues to influence crime thrillers and neo-noir films, while its unforgettable ending remains one of the most discussed conclusions in movie history.

61 Years Ago Today, Original Nepo Baby Made Her Broadway Debut
It's hard to imagine not being interested in Broadway if your mother was Judy Garland. Liza Minnelliunsurprisingly carved her own place in musical history. It all started on May 11, 1965.
Liza Minnelli Debuted in 'Flora, the Red Menace'The musical "Flora, the Red Menace" takes place in 1935, and newly graduated Flora Meszaros (Minnelli) pursues a job in fashion in New York City. She also meets a stuttering artist named Harry Toukarian (Bob Dishy). They get involved with an artists' co-operative, but her political views get tested with her career changes.

Minnelli was 19 when she started the role. She revealed that she overheard a woman singing a song, and asked her where it was from. The answer was John Kander and Fred Ebb's first musical. The icon was determined to get the lead role in it, although she already had a job on Broadway.
"I had to audition seven times!" she told Playbill. "The first time I auditioned George Abbott was out in the theatre. I walked down and I heard him say, 'Well, this is a waste of time,' but I kept walking down and then I just kept coming back. And finally, I got it!"
That determination paid off, and she earned her first Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. Minnelli later starred in Cabaret, another Kander and Ebb musical. The actress was awarded an Oscar for Best Actress.
The Tony winner is 80 years old. She released a memoir this year called
Kids, Wait Till You Hear This! She wrote about how her role as Flora changed the public's perception of her.
" I was the original 'nepo baby'," she wrote, according to The Times. "Now, at last, I had my own identity."

‘Harry Potter’ Actors of the Past and Present Come Together in Special Red Carpet Encounter
With the BAFTA Television Awards in full swing at the Royal Festival Hall in London, two Harry Potter stars of the past and present had a fun encounter on the red carpet.
Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy in the early 2000s Harry Pottermovies, embraced the Wizarding World’s new Draco Malfoy, Lox Pratt, who will be replacing Tom Felton in HBO’s upcoming series.

Pratt, 14, recently played Jack in Netflix’s Lord of the Flies. His character is arrogant and privileged, similar to Draco in Harry Potter. However, Pratt told Variety that the characters differ.
“I think they’re two very different kinds of sadness and meanness,” Pratt said. “Draco’s loved, but he’s got this horrible, crippling family pressure. He’s not quite who he wants to be the entire time and can’t live up to his father’s expectations. Whereas I felt with Jack that he got his own thing going on. He’s just unloved and that’s never been a thing that he’s needed.”
Pratt told Variety that he enjoys playing “baddies.”
“Baddies are just more fun to play — and there’s just so much more you can do,” Pratt said. “It’s better than being stuck playing the good guy forever.”
The teaser trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter series was recently released, and Pratt said he got a “flood of messages” after it came out, with friends showing their enthusiasm for his new role. He said he’s excited for people to see it, “because he’s so different to how Draco was in the films.”
The role of Draco’s father, Lucius, will be played by Johnny Flynn. Isaacs took to X last year to praise Flynn for his acting, expressing that he’s excited to pass the torch of Lucius onto him.
“A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too,” Isaacs said. “Couldn’t have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better.”

NBC Officially Cancels 'On Brand with Jimmy Fallon' TV Series
Audiences might adore Jimmy Fallon for his fun-loving style of improvisational comedy, but the late talk show's host comedic antics unfortunately haven't prevented his latest TV series from cancelation at NBC.
According to Deadline, the network has officially decided to ax Fallon's new show, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, after a mere season.
Created, hosted and executively produced by The Tonight Show host, On Brand followed Fallon as he put together a marketing agency and attempted to fill it with "the most creative, clever, and competitive go-getters he can find."
Joining Fallon on-screen was formerReal Housewives of Beverly Hillscast member and former Netflix marketing chief Bozoma Saint John, who served as On Brand Agency’s Chief Marketing Offer.
While Fallon might have had high hopes for the reality series, Deadline reported that the show had a notably tough time slot, airing on NBC on Tuesdays at 10pm throughout the fall, along with Fridays at 8pm. As a result, the series failed to gain much traction among mainstream viewers, earning unremarkable ratings throughout its inaugural season.
In addition, many viewers had a less than enthusiastic response to the Fallon-backed show, as seen from several negative comments on social media platforms like Reddit.
"Just finished watching the two first episodes of On Brand with Jimmy Fallon. It’s basically an advertising competition show," one user wrote. "Watching this show was insulting to the entire industry. Making good ads is based on more than just an off handed idea or a hope that you can succeed because you’re quirky."
As it happened, most critics were just as indifferent to the series as viewers were, with many reviewers making their thoughts on the short-lived series achingly clear.
"What On Brand dares to wonder is, what if product placement was the whole show?" opined one critic from Cracked.

Tom Brady Brings Up Kevin Hart’s Vegas Affair in Viral Roast Moment
On Sunday, May 10, The Roast of Kevin Hart streamed live on Netflix. Comedians, including Pete Davidson and Big Jay Oakerson, got together for a bash-session that was all in good fun.
First to the podium after host Shane Gillis' opening and Hart's self-introduction was retired NFL quarterback, Tom Brady. Brady, who was roasted in the same fashion in May 2024, didn't hold back when it came to taking shots at the Ride Along star.
"All right, this won’t take long, because, as you guys know, I’m a busy man," Brady said. "But I do have a few words for you before I return to my affairs in Las Vegas. Oh, wait, I’m talking about affairs in Las Vegas. Was that off? Not supposed to talk about affairs in Vegas? I think I broke another rule. F*** it. I talked about it."
Brady was referring to a 2017 incident where Hart cheated on his wife, Eniko Hart (nee Parrish), who happened to be pregnant at the time. At the time, Hart found himself a victim of attempted extortion as someone claimed to have a "sexually suggestive video" of him, according to TMZ.
View this post on InstagramThis prompted a public apology from Hart.
"I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back," he said in a video posted to Instagram in September 2017.And because of that I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn’t. You know, I’m not perfect. I’m not going to sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way shape or form. And I made a bad error in judgement and I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen and they did. And in doing that I know that I’m going to hurt the people closest to me, who’ve I talked to and apologized to, that would be my wife and my kids."
"And I just, you know, it’s a s***** moment. It’s a s***** moment when you know you’re wrong and there’s no excuses for your wrong behavior," Hart continued. "At the end of the day man, I just simply have got to do better. But I’m also not going to allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes and in this particular situation that was what was attempted. I said I’d rather fess up to my mistakes."
Brady's comments at the Roast were par for the course. Back in 2024, Hart didn't hold back when it came to Brady's personal life, dragging the former athlete's marriage to Gisele Bundchen, which ended two years prior.
1962 Classic Starring ‘King of Rock’ Ranked Among Best Rock Movies of All Time
More than six decades after its release, Follow That Dream is once again gaining attention after Ultimate Classic Rock ranked the movie among the best rock films ever made.
The 1962 musical comedy starred Elvis Presley, widely known as the “King of Rock and Roll,” during a period when rock-themed films were rapidly growing in popularity. In its ranking of the best rock movies from every year between 1955 and 2025, Ultimate Classic Rock selected Follow That Dream as the standout rock film of 1962.
The publication noted that 1962 was “possibly the weakest year for rock films at the time,” pointing to other releases such as Kid Galahad and Girls! Girls! Girls! alongside lesser-known attempts to capitalize on the rock craze. However, the outlet said Follow That Dream earned recognition partly because of its “underrated title song” and its connection to future rock icon Tom Petty.
According to the article, Petty often credited a visit to the movie set as a life-changing moment that inspired him to pursue music. Petty’s uncle worked on the production and brought the future rocker to meet Presley during filming in Florida.
Released in 1962, Follow That Dream was produced by Mirisch Productions and based on Richard P. Powell’s 1959 novel Pioneer, Go Home! The film follows the Kwimper family, a group of drifters who claim land along an unopened Florida highway under homesteading laws.
Presley played Toby Kwimper, the kind-hearted son of family leader Pop Kwimper, portrayed by Arthur O'Connell. The cast also included Anne Helm, Joanna Moore and Jack Kruschen.
The movie was filmed across several Florida locations, including Inverness, Ocala, Inglis and Yankeetown. Scenes were also shot at the historic Citrus County courthouse in Inverness and at a bank building in Ocala.
During production in 1961, a 10-year-old Tom Petty visited the set with his family after his uncle, Earl Jernigan, invited them to watch filming. Petty later described being “dumbstruck” by Presley’s “supernatural presence.”
That encounter became a major part of rock history. Shortly after meeting Presley, Petty traded his slingshot for Elvis records and developed a deep interest in rock ‘n’ roll. He later became one of the world’s best-known musicians, selling millions of records and entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Last month, local officials in Ocala approved a historical marker commemorating the meeting between Presley and Petty.
The movie also performed well commercially after its release. It reached No. 5 on the Variety weekly Box Office Survey and later finished as the No. 33 top-grossing movie of 1962.
While many of Presley’s films were lighthearted musicals, Follow That Dream earned praise for his acting performance. Director Gordon Douglas said, “Elvis was a damned good actor and played some damned good scenes. He could do more than sing.”
Even Richard P. Powell, the author of the original novel, reportedly doubted Presley’s casting at first before later admitting the singer performed well in the role.
The film’s title song also became a success. Written by Fred Wise and Ben Weisman, “Follow That Dream” reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 5 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart in 1962.Presley appeared in 31 films between 1956 and 1969, including classics such as Jailhouse Rock, King Creole, and Viva Las Vegas.
Although many of his movies followed a similar musical-comedy formula, Follow That Dream continues to stand out because of its unusual story, Florida setting and lasting impact on artists who followed Presley’s path in rock music.
This America's 250th Cruise Kicks off in Oregon in May and Ends in Boston in July—See How
While most people celebrate the Fourth of July with a backyard barbecue, American Cruise Lines is planning something a bit more ambitious for the country’s 250th birthday. This summer marks the inaugural departure of the Great United States Cruise, a 52-day epic that crosses 18 states, spans three distinct cruise segments, and travels all the way from the rugged coast of Oregon to the historic harbor of Boston.
It's part of a monumental month of "firsts" for the domestic cruise market, as the demand for world-class, U.S.-built ships continues to grow. “Our U.S.-flagged fleet and array of small ship itineraries honor American ingenuity, grit, and perseverance,” says Alexa Paolella, spokeswoman for American Cruise Lines. “This year, we are cruising more domestic waterways than at any other time in our company’s history, and we're looking forward to celebrating the country’s 250th birthday on board with our guests cruising from Alaska to the Florida Keys.”
The 52-Day Coast-to-Coast JourneyAmerican Cruise Lines
The "Great United States" itinerary is essentially three world-class vacations rolled into one nearly two-month journey. Beginning on May 29 in Portland, Oregon, the trip is broken down into three logical (and legendary) chapters:
- Chapter 1: National Parks & Legendary Rivers: Guests begin aboard the American Jazz, navigating the Columbia and Snake Rivers through Oregon and Washington before embarking on a guided land adventure through Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks.
- Chapter 2: The Complete Mississippi: After flying down to the Big Easy, travelers board the American Serenade in New Orleans for a full-length exploration of the Mississippi River, stopping in iconic musical and historical hubs like Memphis and St. Louis before finishing in St. Paul, Minnesota.
- Chapter 3: Grand New England: The final leg takes place aboard the American Pioneer, sailing round-trip from Boston. This segment winds through the rocky coasts of Maine, the quaint harbors of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, and the historic streets of Newport, Rhode Island, finally concluding back in Boston on July 19.
Best of all for the traveler who favors a "smart splurge," it's truly all-inclusive. It covers all three cruise segments, domestic airfare and hotels between the legs, daily excursions, meals, beverages and even Starlink-powered WiFi.

Beyond the Big Trip: More Ways to Celebrate 250 YearsIf you don't have 52 days to spare, American Cruise Lines is launching several other "first-of-their-kind" voyages this May to mark the semi-quincentennial.
For history buffs, the 36-Day Civil War Battlefields Cruise departs New Orleans on May 5. This itinerary was specifically designed to honor the complex history of the Civil War while celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States, concluding its journey in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
May also marks the inaugural season for the Great Lakes, featuring the only 100% domestic cruises in the region. Sailing aboard the brand-new American Patriot, these 9-day itineraries travel between Buffalo, New York, and the Thousand Islands, offering a fresh perspective on the Northern border.
Even the riverboats themselves are making history this month. On May 12, the American Encore will become the first ship ever to be christened in the state of Idaho, following its debut on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
Whether it's a 52-day odyssey or a week-long escape through the Great Lakes, it’s clear that the new way to see America is from the rail of a small ship. As Paolella puts it, the ability to cruise throughout the U.S. today is a "tremendous accomplishment that has been decades in the making."

In regards to the former, Pringles' Hawaiian Barbecue brings the zesty flavors of the Aloha State to the brand's signature chips, ensuring a product that's the perfect combination of sweet and savory.

Kate Middleton’s Fashion Choice Gets Attention During Latest Public Appearance
Kate Middleton’s recent public outing is gaining attention for the right reasons after the Princess of Wales stunned royal watchers with her fashion choice.
The 44-year-old royal hosted the first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace on behalf of King Charles.
Marking her return to traditional royal duties, the public engagement celebrated volunteers, community members and military personnel for their service to the nation.
Amid the sea of guests who enjoyed the fine afternoon, along with scrumptious tea, sandwiches and cakes, Kate Middleton’s outfit stood out as she stepped out in a stunning cream-colored look.
The royal opted for a quarter-sleeved peplum buttoned-up top, paired with a pleated polka dot midi skirt and a wide-brimmed black-and-white hat, a staple of her signature royal style.

Adding shimmer to her look, the mom-of-three chose simple and elegant Bahrain pearl drop earrings from the late Queen Elizabeth II and a triple-strand pearl bracelet designed by Nigel Milne from Princess Diana’s collection, as cited by People.
However, apart from her stylish ensemble or her dainty accessories, what impressed royal watchers was her choice of footwear for the day.
In a post on X, a fan account featured a video of Kate Middleton walking in the grassy venue area in high heels. What made it extra impressive was that they were not just an ordinary pair of high heels but stilettos, slender and tapered-heeled shoes.
“Walking on grass in stilettos is not for the weak… but Princess Catherine makes it look effortless,” the post reads.
The video sparked a wave of positive reactions and admiration from the public, with many swooning over how she was able to pull off that classy, effortless walk despite being in an outdoor setting, specifically on uneven grass.
View this post on Instagram“The Princess makes everything look effortless,” one wrote.
“Walking on grass in high heels takes practice, Pr. Catherine is ‘walking on her toes,’” a commenter said.

One fan also mentioned the U.S. first lady, noting, “She and Melania are so amazing in how they do that and always carry themselves so elegantly in those HIGH heels.”
