'Witnessing Greatness': Zac Brown Calls Legendary Guitarist 'The Hendrix Of Our Generation'

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:45am

When Zac Brown talks about one of his favorite musicians, people listen. The “Chicken Fried” singer just named this generation’s Jimi Hendrix, and music lovers are taking note.

Fans are not only loving Brown’s take on one of the most revered guitar players in music today, they’ve also been quick to celebrate the country star for endorsing a fellow musician.

In a post shared to social media this week, Zac Brown compared legendary guitar player Derek Trucks to Jimi Hendrix.

"Witnessing greatness," Brown writes. "@jasonisbell and @tedeschitrucksband. Derek is the Hendrix of our generation. If they had played at Woodstock, history would have been rewritten. Privilege to get to be onstage with them. Susan’s voice and Derek’s guitar are unrivaled. Superheroes. The future has soul."

Brown often collaborates with other artists onstage, but calling Derek Trucks a modern-day Jimi Hendrix is a major statement of respect from one highly regarded musician to another.

Comparisons to Hendrix are rare, with only a few artists in music history—such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Prince—receiving similar praise, a sign of just how exceptional Derek Trucks is on guitar.

Fans of Derek Trucks know the iconic guitarist from his collaboration with his wife, Susan Tedeschi, in the Tedeschi Trucks Band, as well as his previous work with The Allman Brothers Band, which he officially joined in 1999.

What sets Derek Trucks apart isn’t just his guitar skill. His reputation as a musician who prioritizes feel and storytelling over flashy technical playing has made him a celebrated guitarist known for his slide guitar technique and ability to blend blues, rock, jazz, and world music.

Why the Hendrix Comparison Matters in Modern Music

Jimi Hendrix represents innovation and freedom. He redefined the guitar’s role in modern music. Similarly, Trucks is known as a technically proficient guitarist who pushes boundaries while staying deeply rooted in tradition.

Zac Brown’s comparison positions Derek Trucks as more than just a talented guitarist. Instead, it frames him as a once-in-a-generation artist who continues to shape modern guitar playing in a way that bridges tradition and innovation.

A New Royal Baby! Princess Eugenie Announces Her Third Pregnancy

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:36am

The royal family is about to get a new addition. Princess Eugenie is pregnant with her third child, and the world can’t wait to meet baby number three!

Who Is Princess Eugenie?

While she might not get the same level of attention as her cousins Prince Williamand Prince Harry, this royal (like the rest of her family) is still always in the spotlight.

Of course, her father, the formerPrince Andrew, was recently at the center of a media circus following his reported involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Even though Andrew was stripped of his title, Eugenie is still a Princess.

Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is a well-known personality and author who rose to prominence in the 1980s. Fans came to know the Duchess affectionately as ‘Fergie.’ And yes, this was years before the Black Eyed Peas singer used the famous nickname. The Duchess of York and Andrew divorced in 1996, six years after Eugenie’s birth.

Who Are Princess Eugenie’s Children?

The Princess already has two children—August Philip Hawke Brooksbank (born February 9, 2021) and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank (born May 30, 2023). She shares both children with her husband, marketing executive Jack Brooksbank

How Did the Royals Announce the Princess’s Pregnancy?

The royals…they’re just like us. Okay, maybe they’re not just like us. Or for that matter, anything like us. But they do announce milestones and other life-changing events on social media. And that’s exactly how the world found out that Princess Eugenie is expecting.

Like other families, this one uses Instagram to share their good news. As soon as King Charles was informed, the royal family posted an adorable image of Eugenie and Jack’s two sons holding an ultrasound picture of (presumably) their little brother/sister. Along with the pic, the post includes the caption, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.”

View this post on Instagram

The post continues, “August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”

Euegnie also announced the pregnancy with a post of her own. The princess shared the same photo of her children with the caption, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” Friends and fans took to Instagram to wish the new parents well. One commenter wrote, “Amazing news! Congratulations!” while another pointed out the recent family controversy, adding, “It’s good to see that the King and Queen haven’t distanced themselves from Eugenie and Beatrice because of their parents’ mistakes. Children shouldn’t be implicated because of their parents’ errors.”

When Is Princess Eugenie’s Baby Due?

Per the royal family’s Instagram post, baby Brooksbank number three is due this coming summer!

Nancy Guthrie Update: Speculation About Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni Addressed by Brian Entin (Exclusive)

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:27am

As the Nancy Guthrie investigation continues, so does the speculation about what might have happened to the 84-year-old. Despite Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos clearing the family in the case, many social media users still find themselves looking at those closest to Guthrie for answers.

In a new interview, NewsNation's Brian Entin tells Parade that he hasn't seen any evidence to support these theories, particularly about Guthrie's daughter, Annie Guthrie, and Annie's husband, Tommaso Cioni.

"The sheriff has made it clear that they are not suspects, that they've been cleared, so I think we just have to go on that," Entin says. "I've never seen any evidence that anyone in the family is involved."

"I feel bad for them, honestly. You think about the disappearance of Nancy—Annie's mom— and then to be raked over the coals like that on the Internet...it's pretty terrible," he adds.

Related: Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni Caught in Something They Can’t Escape (Exclusive)

Entin also told Parade that he's reached out to Annie and her husband in hopes of landing an interview, but he hasn't had "any luck."

Annie and Tommaso were the last two people to see Nancy before her abduction. According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Nancy took an Uber to their home, about 10 minutes away from her house, for dinner on Saturday, Jan. 31. Around 9:45 p.m. local time, Tommaso drove Nancy home, according to Sheriff Nanos. Authorities say they have proof that Nancy's garage went up around that time and down a couple of minutes later.

From that point forward, it's unclear what happened inside of Nancy's home. The FBI released footage of an armed individual wearing a face mask while on Nancy's front stoop the night she disappeared. However, the person has not yet been identified.

May the 4th Be With You 2026: Everything Happening in the Star Wars Galaxy Today

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:13am

Every May 4th, fans around the world exchange the pun-turned-rallying-cry 'May the Fourth be with you', a play on the franchise's iconic phrase, 'May the Force be with you.' The date has been embraced by Lucasfilm and the Walt Disney Company as an annual celebration of Star Wars. And this year, there's a lot to celebrate. With a major streaming finale dropping today, a long-awaited theatrical film just 18 days away, and one of the biggest deal slates the franchise has ever produced, Star Wars Day 2026 is arguably the most packed one yet. Here's everything you need to know.

Maul – Shadow Lord Drops Its Season Finale TODAY on Disney+

If you have Disney+, your plans are already made. Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the animated series produced by Lucasfilm Animation, the same team behind The Clone Wars and Rebels, has its season finale dropping fittingly on Star Wars Day, May 4, 2026.

The 10-episode first season premiered on April 6, with two episodes releasing each week. Created by Dave Filoni, the show follows former Sith lord Maul as he rebuilds his criminal syndicate and seeks a new apprentice on the planet Janix during the reign of the Galactic Empire.

The final two episodes, Chapters 9 and 10, are titled 'Strange Allies' and 'Finale.' The tension heading in is high. Maul has faced a significant setback after many of his Mandalorian troops defected, and he remains in a difficult position against the Inquisitor Marrok while Imperial forces close in on Janix.

The series has earned strong reviews, with critics praising its dark, stylized animation. Jordan King of Empiredescribed the animation as 'gorgeously rendered,' positively comparing it to the final season of The Clone Wars, while Sarah El-Mahmoud at CinemaBlendsaid the quality was a notable step forward from prior animated entries.

Good news for fans already hooked: a second season of Maul – Shadow Lord has already been confirmed.

Where to watch: Disney+ — Episodes 9 & 10 are live now.

The First Star Wars Movie in 7 Years Is Almost Here

Today is also the perfect day to buy your tickets, because Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters on May 22, ending a seven-year absence of Star Wars from the big screen. The Rise of Skywalker was last released in 2019.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin alongside Sigourney Weaver andJeremy Allen White. Set after the fall of the Empire, Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu are enlisted by the fledgling New Republic to rescue Rotta the Hutt in exchange for crucial information on a target.

Filoni described the film as a 'big celebration' of the title characters, while Favreau has said newcomers don't need to have seen the Disney+ series to enjoy it, calling the approach 'like season one, episode one' for any first-timer to the franchise.

The film is the first in a new slate of Star Wars theatrical releases. Future projects already in development include Star Wars: Starfighter, set decades later, along with possible films centered on Daisy Ridley's Rey and a Filoni-directed feature.

This ‘Old Reliable’ Credit Card’s Travel Rewards Just Increased, But The Annual Fee Didn’t

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:10am

If you have a certain "glimmering" card sitting in your wallet, you might want to give it a closer look. American Express just announced a major refresh for its iconic Gold Card, proving that even at 60 years old, this "old reliable" still knows how to keep up with the times.

The big news? Amex is piling on the travel and dining perks, but they aren't touching the $325 annual membership fee. While other premium cards seem to hike their prices every time they add a new bell or whistle, this update is focused purely on adding value for the people who actually use their cards for more than just a paperweight.

The Travel Upgrades

If you're someone who treats travel as a non-negotiable, you aren't alone. In fact, Amex's recent data shows that 74% of Millennials and Gen Z feel exactly the same way. To meet that demand, the Gold Card is significantly boosting its points game for hotel stays.

"For 60 years, the Gold Card has evolved alongside how our Card Members actually live," says Lisa Kalhans, Executive Vice President of U.S. Consumer Products at American Express. "These updates reflect how we’re continuing to build on that foundation, delivering more of what our Card Members value most and reinforcing why Gold remains one of our most well-rounded Cards."

Specifically, members will now earn 5X Membership Rewards points on prepaid hotels booked through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App—a massive jump from the previous 2X. Plus, frequent flyers who need a car at the airport are getting a boost with complimentary Hertz Five Star status, which lets you skip the counter and snag vehicle upgrades when they’re available.

The Dining Tweaks

While the card is leaning harder into travel, it isn't forgetting its roots as the ultimate "foodie" card. The $120 annual dining credit (delivered in $10 monthly increments) has been updated to include new partners like Buffalo Wild Wings and Wonder, giving you more ways to earn back that annual fee while grabbing a quick bite.

Related: The Top No-Fee Travel Credit Card of 2026, According to the Motley Fool

Limited-Time Anniversary Perks

Because it's a 60th-anniversary celebration, Amex is also throwing in some "hidden" limited-time bonuses that you’ll want to jump on sooner rather than later:

  • Uber One Credit: If you enroll by October 30, 2026, you can get a one-time statement credit of up to $96 to cover an annual Uber One membership.
  • Hilton Points Bonus: Through May 30, 2026, you can get a 20% point bonus when you transfer your Membership Rewards points to a Hilton Honors account.
  • Hotel Collection Deals: Through July 15, 2026, you can access special rates at over 250 properties, including offers like a complimentary third or fourth night.

Whether you're a points pro or just want a card that rewards you for your weekly grocery run and your yearly vacation, the Gold Card’s latest glow-up makes it a much stronger contender for that "top of wallet" spot.

1981 Ultimate Breakup Hit and ‘80s Rock Anthem Was Written in 15 Minutes

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 6:04am

In 1981, the Greg Kihn Band scored a long-awaited hit single with “The Breakup Song.” The song, subtitled “They Don’t Write ‘Em,” appeared on the band’s sixth studio album, RocKihnRoll. The power-pop hit peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1981 as it told the tale of a breakup and the lack of good songs about the topic. It became a radio favorite and an anthem of the era in the early days of MTV.

In an interview with Music Recall magazine, Kihn revealed that when it came to penning his own breakup song, he had help from bass guitarist Steve Wright.

I actually wrote that with Steve Wright," he shared in 2018. “We took the verses that I had written and wedded it to the chorus he had written, and the two songs fit effortlessly together.”

Written in minutes

Kihn, who died in 2024 at age 75, once shared the backstory on “The Breakup Song.” In an interview with Like Totally 80s, he recalled pulling up to his house in his band’s tour van and finding all of his belongings piled up on the lawn.

“And it was raining, and I thought, ‘Oh God, my first wife had done it’,” he said. “We pull up to the house, and I remember Steve, the bass player, looked at me and said, ‘Well, you might as well just keep on going. You’re not going in there.'"

The bandmates went to a Japanese restaurant where they began “pounding down hot sake.” “I didn’t know where else to go,” Kihn shared. “It was a cold, rainy night, and we were getting toasted. There was an old Japanese dude there at the sake bar, and he kept saying, ‘They don’t write ‘em like that anymore.’ I thought, ‘Yeah, damn. They don’t, do they?’ So we got the idea, we wrote that song probably in 15 minutes. All of the great songs are written quickly, by the way.”

RELATED: 1978’s Biggest No. 1 Hit Song Was Written in Ten Minutes

In an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, Kihn revealed that the “uh uh uhs” he uttered throughout the song weren’t originally planned.

“I had always intended to write more lyrics to fit in there, but like so much of rock and roll, it just happened spontaneously,” he explained. “Man, I'm glad I didn't change it, though. That song translates into any language and was a worldwide hit.  All because I was short on lyrics and improved the uh-uhs in the studio.”

Would never happen today

It was not lost on Kihn that going so many albums without a hit wouldn’t have flown in later years. He once told Classic Bands, "'The Break-Up Song’ came out. It was our first Top Ten hit. That was our seventh album. We'd already had seven albums out. We were getting FM turntable play without hit singles 'cause that's the way it was back in those days. We would book a tour, rent a van pretty much, and drive all over, but you could play."

“The record business has completely changed since then,” he added. “Seven albums without a hit? Go figure. It's not gonna happen.”

He also expressed gratitude for the long-overdue hit. "It wasn't until ‘The Breakup Song’ that we really exploded on the scene,” Kihn told Like Totally 80s. “I can tell you that life with a hit record is much better than life without a hit record.”

What Is Lag BaOmer? Is It a Religious Holiday?

Lag BaOmer is a Jewish holiday that usually falls in the spring. According to Chabad, Lag BaOmer celebrates the life of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, who was the first to teach the Kabbalah part of the Torah. He is credited as the author of the Kabbalah text called the Zohar.

When Is Lag BaOmer 2026?

Lag BaOmer is always on the 18th day of the month of Iyar in the Hebrew calendar. In the secular calendar, the holiday begins at sundown on May 4 and ends at sundown on May 5, 2026.

Why Is Lag BaOmer Celebrated?

Lag BaOmer is celebrated for two different reasons. One is the end of a deadly plague that is believed to have killed 24,000 students of Rabbi Akiva Ben Yosef. Lag BaOmer marks the end of a 32-day grieving period for Akiva Yosef's followers.

The other is a celebration of the life of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, a highly respected Jewish sage who lived around the same time as Ben Yosef and asked that the end of his life be marked as a joyous occasion, not a sorrowful one.

Lag BaOmer is often celebrated with bonfires, street festivals and parades. Many celebrants spend time outdoors taking in the beauty of nature.

Marking the end of a mourning period, many Jewish people hold weddings and other big parties on Lag BaOmer. There are huge city-wide celebrations in Meron, northern Israel, where Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai is buried.

Many people eat carob, a fruit native to the Mediterranean, during Lag BaOmer as a tribute to Rabbi Shimon, who survived on it with his son when they were hiding from the Romans, Chabad notes. Eggs are also often eaten as a symbol of mourning.

What Does Lag Ba'Omer Mean in Hebrew?

Translated from Hebrew, "La Ba'Omer" literally means "33rd [day] of Omer." Think of it in terms of our "Fourth of July" or "Cinco de Mayo," but obviously with a much different significance.

Are You Allowed to Get a Haircut on Lag BaOmer?

You can indeed get a haircut on Lag BaOmer. In fact, for some of the Jewish faith, it's the date when their children get their very first haircuts.

What Do Bows and Arrows Mean for Lag BaOmer?

Children often play with archery-themed toys or actual bows and arrows for Lag BaOmer. This stems from the word "keshet," which translates to both "bow" and "rainbow" in Hebrew, according to Chabad.

In the Jewish faith, it is believed that after the Great Flood, God used a rainbow as a sign that he would never destroy the world by flood ever again; rainbows have been associated in the religion with the world (or portions of it) deserving punishment. Sages proclaimed that during Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai's life, rainbows weren't necessary and didn't appear because his goodness protected the entire world. The bows and arrows signify that following his death, rainbows are now needed.

How Do You Greet Someone on Lag BaOmer?

There is no specific greeting for Lag BaOmer, but many celebrants wish one another "chag sameach," or "happy holiday."

Brian Wilson's 1968 Ode to Simpler Times is Ranked as One of His Very Best Songs

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 5:52am

In 1968, Brian Wilson wrote an ode to the good old days, and it has since been ranked as one of his very best songs.

"Do It Again" was written by Wilson and Beach Boys member Mike Love. The cousins' songwriting partnership formed the basis for many of their band's earliest hits.

A sense of nostalgia for the early '60s was prevalent in the tune, which Rolling Stone ranked as one of Wilson's best songs ever. Additionally, the song captured Wilson’s growing shift toward more introspective, deeply personal songwriting.

"Do It Again" was released as a standalone single in July 1968 and peaked at No. 20 in September, remaining on the Billboard chart for 10 weeks. It would later be added to the collection of songs that made up the band's 15th studio album, 20/20, released in 1969.

Rolling Stone wrote, "Mike Love and Brian Wilson were one of the all-time great songwriting partnerships in the first half of the sixties, and though Wilson’s genius eventually sent him searching for other collaborators in the decade’s second half, the two very different cousins reunited in 1968 for one perfect throwback."

Wilson told American Songwriter, "'Do It Again' was written at Mike’s house in Beverly Hills. He and I wrote that song together in about 45 minutes. It came very fast. He came up with that lyric so fast I couldn’t believe it."

The lyrics were inspired by a day of surfing with an old friend, grounding the song in personal memory. It intentionally echoed the band’s early '60s surf sound and featured Wilson and Love sharing lead vocals.

Love recalled to The Guardian, "For 'Do It Again.' I came back from a surfing trip with some high school buddies and said, 'Hey Brian, I just went to the beach, and the waves and the girls were great. We've got to do a song called 'Do It Again.'"

The singer and songwriter added, "[Wilson] remembers it being at my house. I remember it as being at his house. He starts pounding at the piano; I was summoning up the words, and we got a chorus together, which was basically a bunch of doo-wop-inspired harmonies. We created that whole song in 15 minutes."

In 2011, the surviving Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, with the addition of David Marks, re-recorded "Do It Again" as part of their 50th anniversary celebration.

In 1995, Wilson rerecorded the song for his album I Just Wasn't Made for These Times and performed it on Late Night with David Letterman with his daughter, Wilson Phillips singer Wendy Wilson. In 1996 and 1997, Love rerecorded and released his own version of "Do It Again."

More than just a nostalgic nod, Brian Wilson's "Do It Again" stands as a reminder of how he could turn simple moments into something timeless. Decades later, the song still resonates.

The Iconic San Francisco Hotel Where Tony Bennett First Left His Heart Turns 119 Today

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 5:10am

If you stand atop Nob Hill today, looking out over the Golden Gate Bridge, you're standing at the epicenter of San Francisco’s resilience.

On May 4, 1907, the Fairmont San Francisco officially opened its doors—exactly one year after the 1906 Great Earthquake and Fire. The building had been nearly finished when the quake hit, and while it survived the tremors, it was gutted by the subsequent fires. Its opening wasn't just a hotel debut; it was the signal to the world that San Francisco had been reborn.

Under the direction of Julia Morgan, California’s first female licensed architect who would later design Hearst Castle, the Fairmont became the first major business to open its doors following the devastating 1906 earthquake.

The grand opening was a legendary affair that people still talk about over a century later. To celebrate the city’s survival, the hotel hosted an extravagant fête where guests were treated to 13,000 oysters and "rivers of champagne" that flowed throughout the night, all while a spectacular display of fireworks lit up the San Francisco sky.

As the story goes, the celebration was so impactful that it solidified the hotel's reputation as a landmark "so grand they built a city around it." It wasn’t just a place for travelers to rest; it was a triumphant toast to the enduring spirit of the Golden City.

The hotel’s significance shifted from social to global in 1945. It was in the Fairmont’s Garden Room (now the Garden Court) that delegates from 50 nations met to draft the United Nations Charter. It wasn't just a place to sleep; it was the "Little White House" where the world sought to ensure a lasting peace.

As Flaunt Magazine notes: "…the past residence for U.S. presidents, world leaders, and entertainment stars, the Fairmont San Francisco has a reputation for expert service and hospitality as well as incredible history."

Travelers today still flock here to ride the only three cable car lines that meet right at the hotel’s front door, or to sip a Mai Tai in the legendary Tonga Room. As noted by Visit California, the Fairmont "harkens back to an opulent era in San Francisco history" where "dressing up for dinner still makes sense." It is the kind of place where, as architectural photographers have noted, just entering the lobby "feels like a special occasion."

Whether you’re visiting to see where Tony Bennett first sang "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" in the Venetian Room or just to soak in the Julia Morgan-designed architecture, the Fairmont remains the gold standard for "old-world" elegance. Happy 119th to the "Grand Dame of Nob Hill."

The French fashion house revealed the news through a series of Instagram photos, showing Liu dressed in denim looks.

Alongside the images, Liu shared a heartfelt message about the milestone: "Stepping into this new chapter as a Louis Vuitton Ambassador is an honor and a privelege, especially for a figure skater to be recognized in this way, and I take so much pride in that."

Her appointment comes shortly after attending Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week, where her presence signaled a growing connection between the rising star and the iconic brand.

Liu now joins a lineup of global athletes connected to the brand, including tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, basketball standout Victor Wembanyama, skateboarder Yuto Horigome and table tennis player Wang Chuqin.

Previous ambassadors have also included Olympic gold medalist Eileen Gu and Brazilian skateboarder Rayssa Leal.

The partnership adds to Liu’s growing list of collaborations. She already works with sportswear giant Nike and recently appeared in a campaign for Sephora, another brand under the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton umbrella.

Liu’s rise to global fame has been anything but ordinary. At the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, she made history as the first American woman since 2002 to win individual Olympic gold in figure skating. She also secured gold in the team event, cementing her place as one of the sport’s brightest stars.

Known for her playful personality and Gen Z style, Liu has become a standout figure both on and off the ice. She is famous for her “halo” hair, striped in blond and brunette, and her bold fashion choices, including a smiley piercing. A self-described fashion fan, she even designs her own skating costumes.

Her skating career has also been marked by groundbreaking achievements. Liu became the first woman to land both a triple axel and a quadruple jump in a single program. After briefly retiring at age 16, she returned two years later with a fresh mindset focused on creativity and self-expression.

Recently, Liu has also remained active in the public eye. She attended a special “Champions Night” for the Broadway musical & Juliet, alongside fellow U.S. Olympic figure skaters, showing her continued presence in entertainment and cultural events.

With her new role at Louis Vuitton, Liu is expanding her reach even further.

‘70s Child Stars Reunite for Rare Photo After Years—Erin Murphy, Johnny Whitaker, Mason Reese & More

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 4:56am

Some of the most beloved child stars from the 1970s and '80s reunited for a special get-together that was years in the making. In a post to Facebook on May 3, Erin Murphy, the former child actress who played Tabitha on the classic TV sitcomBewitched, shared a photo from a luncheon she attended with several other former child stars.

“Sitting at the ‘kid’s table.’” Murphy, 61, captioned the snap. “You might recognize a few familiar faces.”

The photo featured  Murphy sitting alongside Sandy Schwartz, Mason Reese, Scott Schwartz, Johnny Whitaker, Steven Wishnoff, and Moosie Drier at an outdoor luncheon in California.

Whitaker, 66, who is best known for the classic sitcom series Family Affair and the ‘70s Saturday morning series Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, also shared the photo with the caption, “Thought some of you might be interested that I had a great luncheon today with some of my childhood besties. XCA 2026 May 2 Lunch Crowd.”

“Hope it won't take 6 years for another one,” the actor added.

Reese, the beloved pint-sized pitchman who starred in the iconic Underwood Deviled Ham and Post Raisin Bran commercials of the 1970s, also wrote, “What a fantastic lunch with some of my XCA TV family.  … A lot of entertainment royalty in this pic! Great conversation, laughs, and peeps! Thanks so much for getting together with me!🤗"

Who else was there?

The lunch reunion featured familiar faces from both the big and small screen.

As a child actor, Drier played  Howie Borden on the Bob Newhart Show and appeared on shows such as The Waltons, Apple's Way, and Police Story.

Fans know Scott Schwartz for his roles in the early 1980s moviesThe Toy andA Christmas Story. He once posed with his brother Sandy alongside Fantasy Island star Herve Villechaize.

And Wishnoff is the creator and writer of the award-winning web series Life Interrupted, which starred  Murphy, Reese, and fellow ‘70s stars such as Alison Arngrim (Little House on the Prairie), Dawn Wells (Gilligan’s Island), and  Robbie Rist (The Brady Bunch).

As for the special ex-child stars club, Murphy once told Fox News that they all have a shared experience that no one else can relate to. “There is such a small segment of the population who’ve had those experiences about, you know, going on auditions and working 12-hour days and kind of being famous, so everyone knew who we were,” she said in a 2024 interview. “So, when you meet someone who’s a former kid actor, you immediately are bonded to them because it’s a life experience that most people don’t understand.”

“We kind of have this secret group that we’re all in, so I’m friends with all of them,” the Bewitched alum added of fellow classic TV child stars. “And if you name a kid actor from, you know, the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ’80, ‘90s, I would probably say that I know them.”

Caitlin Clark Appears to Leak Indiana Fever Teammate's Wedding Month

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 4:27am

A simple social media comment from Caitlin Clark has fans buzzing after it appeared to reveal the possible wedding month of her Lexie Hull teammate.

The moment came just two days after Hull shared a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her relationship with fiancé Will Matthiessen.

In the caption, Hull wrote, "our last May 1st anniversary!! 6 years and counting 🤍", hinting that the couple’s next anniversary may look very different.

Clark quickly jumped into the comments with a message that caught fans’ attention: "I’m excited for November baby".

That short reply has led many to believe Clark may have accidentally disclosed that Hull’s wedding is set for November.

The interaction spread fast among fans of the Indiana Fever, especially because Hull has been relatively private about specific wedding details.

View this post on Instagram

Hull and Matthiessen got engaged in April 2025, sharing joyful beachside photos at the time. Hull captioned that post, "engaged to my best friend 💛 cheers to forever!", confirming the couple’s long-term commitment after years together.

View this post on Instagram

While Hull has openly talked about wedding planning, she has kept timelines vague. In a November 2025 interview with People, she shared that planning has been "going really well!", though still in early stages due to their busy schedules.

"Honestly, we haven’t had too much time to dive into the details yet, but it’s been fun so far," Hull said. "That’s probably the hardest part, trying to plan while we’re both so busy."

Hull has previously described Clark as "one of my best friends on the team," adding, "I’m really grateful for Caitlin. And it’s been amazing growing together and chasing the same goals."

Their friendship goes beyond basketball. Hull once explained, "We just have such a natural connection. We push each other in practice but also have so much fun, it’s a good balance of competitiveness and friendship."

Hull’s wedding planning comes during a packed stretch in her career. The 26-year-old guard is coming off a strong 2025 season where she played all 44 regular-season games and helped the Fever reach the semifinals.

She has remained a key piece of the team’s roster, even as she deals with a recent hamstring issue that has kept her sidelined during the 2026 preseason.

Meanwhile, Clark continues to draw attention both on and off the court. She recently returned to preseason action and helped the Fever secure a dominant win over Nigeria, finishing with 12 points and four assists in limited minutes.

Off the court, Clark has also shown growing excitement for Hull’s upcoming wedding. In a previous comment on another post, she even praised Matthiessen’s photography, writing, "Didn’t know Will also does photography", calling it "amazing news."

View this post on Instagram

Despite the buzz, Hull has not officially confirmed a wedding date or month. Clark’s comment remains the strongest public hint so far.

For now, one thing is certain: whether or not November is the confirmed date, the excitement surrounding Hull’s wedding is already building and Clark may have just added fuel to the fire.

The Disney Destination That Transports Star Wars Fans to a Galaxy Far, Far Away Celebrates May the 4th Today

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 4:10am

While the official ribbon-cutting for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge occurred in late May 2019, the travel world has claimed May the 4th as the land’s spiritual anniversary. It remains the most ambitious project Walt Disney Imagineering has ever tackled—a $1 billion, 14-acre living world that completely redefined what "themed travel" looks like by transporting guests to the remote outpost of Batuu.

For the first time, travelers weren't just watching a movie; they were stepping into one. From the staggering scale of a life-sized Millennium Falcon to the chance to build a custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop, the land was built to be a "living place."

As reported by Disney Parks Blog on the first-year anniversary of the launch: "As the largest single-themed land expansion in Disney history, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge invites you to live your own Star Wars adventures in a galaxy far, far away."

The level of detail continues to stun even the most seasoned travelers. Between the "lingo" used by residents (who will tell you "Bright Suns" instead of "Good Morning") and the blue milk served at the local cantina, the immersion is total.

On Reddit, fans still argue that the scale is unmatched in the industry: "This park is more than just a land to buy stuff, it is for the experience. The feeling that you are immersed in place that feels so genuinely Star Wars that it wants to make you cry. It makes me want to live there, breath the air it is in, walk the corridors and paths, experience joy and serenity when building your own lightsaber. It lives and breaths immsersion."

But it’s not just the architecture that sells the story; it’s the people. Another traveler shared
how a quiet moment with a cast member became their highlight: "Now my other one wasn't with a character. It was one of the cast members. We were sitting on the boxes across from the falcon on star wars night waiting for our party to be called to oga's and he just chilled there and talked with us for the 20 minutes we were waiting explaining the lore of the outpost and the aurabesh easter eggs. It's one of my favorite things about GE. How the cast gets so into their stories there. it makes it feel lived in."

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual tourist, Galaxy’s Edge proved that a theme park could be a world-class travel destination in its own right. May the Fourth be with you as you plan your next jump to lightspeed.

After 25 Years of Cancellations, One Daytime Star Says the Genre Is Finally ‘Rising From the Ashes’

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 4:00am

Beyond the Gates breakout star Brandon Claybon (Martin Richardson) is looking back with genuine pride and gratitude on being a part of daytime television during what he describes as a vibrant period of “resurgence.”

During his recent interview with The Quintessential Gentleman, Claybon discussed the dedication required to transition from commercials and modeling to securing his first soap opera role on General Hospital and, eventually, becoming part of theCBS series Beyond the Gates.

Building on his journey, Claybon reflected on participating in the first new daytime drama in over two decades. “To be honest, it's a new world, but at the same time, it's like a resurgence,” he shared. “It's like a phoenix rising from the ashes.”

He elaborated on this resurgence, noting that the launch of Beyond the Gates inspired the entire daytime industry to "step their game up as well." To illustrate, Claybon referenced the return of Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox to The Young and the Restless.

Since the last new soap opera, Passions, premiered on NBC in 1999, eight soap operas have been canceled, and one has moved from traditional network television to streaming, with Peacock becoming the exclusive broadcast home for Days of Our Lives.

Prior to the creation of Beyond the Gates, the production company Procter & Gamble had exited the soap opera game with the cancellation of As the World Turns and Guiding Light in 2010 and 2009, respectively. Marking the historic nature of CBS green-lighting a new soap opera in 2024 as a resurgence of the format.

This shift has led to a sense of excitement among both viewers and those behind and in front of the screen. “I don't think we've ever had a soap opera like this,” the actor explained.

Claybon added perspective to the conversation by acknowledging that previous shows like Generations focused on a Black family but also featured a main white family, and were only 30 minutes long. He contrasted this with Beyond the Gates, an hour-long series with a predominantly Black cast.

Continuing, Claybon shared, “Beyond the Gates is about a black affluent family in the DC area." The actor concluded, reassuring fans, "and the Dupree family is here to stay.”

L.A. Star Cameron Brink Shows Off Her Abs in Stunning Pregame Outfit

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 3:45am

Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink is getting attention again, this time not just for basketball, but for her bold pregame fashion.

The WNBA recently shared photos of players arriving before a preseason game between the Sparks and the Portland Fire, and Brink quickly stood out. Her outfit, paired with her toned abs, sparked a wave of reactions online and showed her growing presence both on and off the court.

Brink arrived wearing a stylish two-piece knit set that mixed sportswear with high fashion. The look featured a beige ribbed crop jacket with strong brown trim along the collar, cuffs and edges.

Underneath, she wore a brown bandeau-style crop top that revealed her midsection. A matching high-waisted mini skirt completed the outfit, giving it a clean and modern feel.

She added oversized dark sunglasses, pointed brown heels, and styled her long blonde hair in a sleek ponytail. The full look gave off a “sport-luxe” vibe, blending comfort and confidence. It looked like something straight off a runway show, showing how athletes are also shaping fashion trends today.

Fans quickly filled the comments with excitement.

One wrote, “Brink🤍🤍 I’m addicted.”

Another said, “omgg cammmm😍😍.”

One comment read, “cameron looks TEAAAA honey.”

Others added, “CAM knows who she is!!!” and “Ms. brink be lookin like a bag of money.”

Another fan simply posted, “CAMERONN🔥🔥.”

The attention comes as Brink prepares for her third WNBA season. While her outfit made headlines, her journey back to full strength is just as important. She has only played 34 games so far in her career due to injuries, including a serious ACL injury that cut her rookie season short.

Brink’s pregame appearance came just before the Sparks’ preseason matchup against the Portland Fire. Los Angeles won the game 85-75, led by strong performances from veterans like Nneka Ogwumike, Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby.

Brink had a quieter night on the court, finishing with no points in limited minutes while dealing with turnovers and fouls. Still, her presence remains important, especially on defense.

Off the court, she continues to build her image. Earlier this year, she also made waves at Coachella, where she wore a cropped shirt and showed off her abs. She even joked in her caption, “Been workin’ on my six pack.” That same confidence is now showing up in her pregame style.

With the 2026 season approaching, Brink is stepping into a new phase. She is not just a player coming back from injury, she is becoming a full star, mixing sports, fashion and personality into one.

’70s Legend Shares Update Amid Health Issues

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 3:15am

Country music legend Randy Travis is giving fans a heartfelt update as he continues his long recovery journey.

The singer recently shared a photo on Instagram showing himself in a wheelchair, smiling alongside close friends during a reunion.

“It was wonderful to see our friends Alison Krauss and Union Station at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma the other night. Lots of great memories through the years… especially with Jerry Douglas who you’ve heard playing dobro on many of our records through the years!” Travis wrote in the caption.

The image shows a relaxed and happy moment, even as Travis continues to live with the lasting effects of a near-fatal stroke.

Randy Travis, born Randy Bruce Traywick, is one of country music’s most successful artists, with over 20 studio albums and more than 50 charted singles, including 16 No. 1 hits. His career took off in the 1980s with the album Storms of Life, which became a major success and helped define a return to traditional country sound.

View this post on Instagram

In 2013, everything changed. Travis was hospitalized due to complications from viral cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. Days later, he suffered a stroke that doctors said left him with less than a 1% chance of survival. The stroke caused severe damage, affecting his speech, movement and ability to perform.

“I could understand what Mary said to me, but I could not respond in anything close to a sentence,” Travis wrote in his memoir. “All this was extremely frustrating for me; I felt like I was trapped inside the shell of my body.”

He later developed aphasia, which makes it hard to communicate. He also had to relearn basic skills like walking. Today, he often uses a wheelchair and relies on his wife, Mary, for assistance during public appearances.

Despite these challenges, Travis never gave up on music. He has gradually returned to public life, making appearances at events and joining his band on the More Life tour. While he no longer performs in the same way, he still connects with fans and shares moments on stage.

According to Fox News, James Dupré, the lead vocalist for the tour, described Travis’ energy: “Honestly, when we get on the tour bus, [Randy] gets excited. He just doesn't like to sit at home for too long… he's always smiling.”

The recent reunion with Alison Krauss & Union Station shows how strong Travis’ relationships remain in the music world. Alison Krauss is one of the most respected names in bluegrass and country music, known for her award-winning career and influence on the genre.

Jerry Douglas, a longtime member of the group, has worked closely with Travis over the years. His Dobro playing has been featured on many of Travis’ recordings, making him an important part of the singer’s sound.

Their meeting at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma was more than just a casual visit. It was a reminder of decades of collaboration and friendship.

Kings Dominion Makes Live Shows the Main Attraction for 2026

Mon, 05/04/2026 - 3:10am

Kings Dominion is traditionally known for its world-class coaster lineup, but for Summer 2026, the park is reinventing itself as a full-scale entertainment destination to rival the industry’s biggest giants. Following direct feedback from fans and a deep-dive focus group with Six Flags leadership, the park is rolling out a reimagined program that weaves immersive performances into every corner of the property.

The crown jewel of the new season is the Ignite the Night spectacular, running from July 10 through August 9, a "breathtaking drone and fireworks show" that blends classic pyrotechnics with next-generation drone technology. These coordinated formations and music-driven storytelling provide the kind of cinematic emotional finale usually reserved for major Florida or California destinations.

Beyond the night sky, the park is doubling down on theatrical scale. “This summer, entertainment isn’t an add‑on—it’s embedded in the heartbeat of the park,” says Jennifer Schofield, Kings Dominion Park Manager. This includes the return of the fan-favorite Cirque Imagine, which has been elevated into a "fully realized theatrical experience" featuring gravity-defying acrobatics and immersive storytelling inside the Kings Dominion Theater.

The park's midways will also pulse with new energy thanks to the Jungle X Percussion Show: Rhythm of the Wild, a high-impact outdoor drumming experience, and the Splash! Water Parade, which turns Candy Apple Grove into a rolling water-play party with whimsical floats and interactive spray effects. From the legacy KD Clown Band and the iconic 1975 Singing Mushrooms to a nighttime "festival-style" production on the Bandstand Stage with over 20 performers, the 2026 season marks a major pivot toward making live shows a central reason to visit.
