Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Zahara, 21, Speaks Onstage About Growing up With Her Famous Mom
Angelina Jolie's daughter, Zahara, is opening up about what it's like being the daughter of one of the world's most famous women.
Zahara, 21, whose father is Brad Pitt, took the stage at a mother-daughter brunch for the Pearls of Purpose Foundation on Sunday, April 26, in Atlanta, where she was featured as the special guest. In her speech, the college student opened up about her relationship with her mother, as Jolie stood beside her.
"When asked to speak with you all today on the value of mother-daughter relationships, it felt challenging to find the words," Zahara began, according to a video on Instagram. "Not challenging because I don’t value it, but because my mom and I have a unique, almost kindred, relationship that can be hard to put into words."
View this post on Instagram"Our love for each other is a found one I was adopted at 6 months old and given some of the most special and loving people as my siblings, with a mom who raised us on the value of helping others, being kind, and always striving for growth as people," Zahara continued. "These values may sound simple, but in a world where kindness is overlooked and helping others comes at a cost, I am grateful to have had a role model to show me what it looks like to be a decent human being."
Zahara went on to refer to Jolie as "the most selfless, loving, and understanding woman who I get to call my mom."
Where Does Zahara Go to College?Growing up in the public eye has likely been challenging for Zahara, but the college student has thrived. She currently studies at Spelman College in Atlanta, where she’s majoring in psychology with a minor in educational studies.
In her speech, Zahara spoke about how much of a change going away to Spelman would be.
"Early on, I realized it would be challenging to include my mom and family in these worlds without being able to directly share the effects," she said. "With the addition of the public life that we live, it can be hard to find those special and intimate moments without being overwhelmed with the many eyes that are on us."
"This has never stopped my mom from being curious about all that I’m learning in and outside of my classrooms at Spelman and having many understandable questions about sorority life and my experiences," Zahara continued. "My family embraces the newness and strives to understand these meaningful organizations in my life as I share my experiences."
What Has Angelina Jolie Said About Parenting?Back in 2017, Jolie spoke about how proud she is of all her children.
“They’re six very strong-minded, thoughtful, worldly individuals. I’m very proud of them,” Jolie told Vanity Fair shortly after breaking up with Pitt. “They’ve been very brave. They were very brave.”

Inside Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach’s Intimate Wedding: 45 Years Later, Bach's Dress Is Still The Coolest Bridal Look Ever
Maybe it's time to move on from the twenty-five-foot train and the cathedral spectacle. Three months before Princess Diana walked into St. Paul’s wearing yards of silk taffeta, the same designers were in a Mayfair studio plotting a much cooler secret.
It was April 27, 1981. Barbara Bachwas marrying Ringo Starr at the Marylebone Register Office. She didn't wear a veil. She didn't look like a princess. Bach looked like a Bond girl who had just conquered the rock world. And she did it in an Emanuel original that somehow makes the iconic royal wedding dress look dowdy.
David and Elizabeth Emanuel were the "it" duo of the decade. But their work for Bach was the polar opposite of the Cinderella style they gave Diana. While the world was breathlessly awaiting a display of royal tradition, Bach wanted the sharp edge of the London rock scene.
The dress was a cream-colored, tea-length modern bridal look. What it lacked in volume, it made up for in details. It had heavy, intricate embroidery designed to catch the flash of every paparazzi bulb on the sidewalk. The cut was the real genius: structured, sharp, and totally modern with tons of rock star swagger.
Photo by Express on Getty Images
Bach skipped the traditional bridal trimmings. No tiara. No updos. She went with a soft, feathered blowout that screamed elegance and looked like she’d stepped off a film set and accidentally got married in the registry office.
In his dark, velvet-collared suit, Starr let Barbara take the light. They looked like a couple who didn’t need a palace to prove they were royalty. All they needed was a sidewalk and a few rolls of film.
Why don't we talk about this dress more? Because July 1981 happened. When Diana stepped out in that royal gown, the fashion world pivoted toward the modern fairy tale aesthetic. Bach’s sleek silhouette was buried under miles of royal lace.
But history can offer a different perspective. Diana’s dress is a relic of a different time, a beautiful-but-crumpled memory of a specific moment. Bach dress was dress built for a modern woman, not a princess.
The best proof the dress worked is that the woman wearing it hasn't stopped smiling since. In an industry where marriages usually last about as long as a world tour, Starr and Bach are the gold standard. Forty-five years later, they’re still the coolest couple in show business.
That cream silk dress remains the ultimate "if you know, you know" fashion moment. It was the dress that should have defined the decade: short, low key, and beyond chic.
Anne Hathaway Reveals What Meryl Streep Did Differently on 'Devil Wears Prada 2' Set
It turns out Meryl Streep went a little less method while shooting 'The Devil Wears Prada 2.'
In a Good Morning America interview with Anne Hathaway on Monday, the actress shared that Streep was a bit more herself this time compared to when they shot the film's first installment in 2006.
"Meryl loves the hang, but she decided that she should kind of withdraw from the social aspect of making the [first] film so that way we would really spend time with Miranda," Hathaway explained of Streep's strategy to maintain the intimidating and distant vibe of her character, Miranda Priestly.
"On this one, what was so great was that I finally got to work with Meryl Streep," she added. "She was herself, the hang was impeccable, the vibes were great."
Still, Hathaway admitted that while reuniting with Streep, she couldn't help but fangirl.
"You just go 'Oh my God, I love you,' and you have to do that but what I learned in 20 years is that you zip that up and you don't show that," she said.
And when it comes to her character, Andy Sachs, Hathaway shared that the first film's soundtrack — which includes Madonna's "Vogue" and Alanis Morissette's "Crazy" — helped her snap back into her role.
"The thing that got me back into it was the music," she said. "I just listened to the music from the first one and all of the memories came back of who I was when I was 22, and how scared I was making [the movie]."

As for newbies in this film, Bridgertonstar Simone Ashley will be playing Priestly's assistant and Patrick Brammall will be playing Sach's love interest. Brammall's casting initially made waves as Hathaway's character's boyfriend in the first film, played by Adrian Grenier, would not be returning.
Stanley Tucci and Emily Bluntare also returning to their respective roles.
The iconic film's sequel, which is out May 1, has come with much fanfare, not only because of fan anticipation, but thanks to its starry premieres all over the world from New York, to London to Seoul.

Gemini — FawnGeminis and fawns are both curious creatures, often looking into the distance to seek information. They use their voices to call for their mothers when they feel distressed or have needs. Generally, they prefer not to act aggressively, unless provoked.

Choosing the right anchor furniture is the most important decision you can make for your home's layout. Many people settle for pieces that look good on the surface but lack the structural integrity to last for years. True quality lies in the materials and craftsmanship—look for solid woods and thoughtful details like smooth-operating hardware. 'House of the Dragon’ Season 3 Sets June Release Date — And There’s a Thrilling New Trailer
After an excruciating wait and a lot of teases, the date has finally been set. House of the Dragon Season 3 will arrive in June, as Matt Smith suggested, and it’s clear that the summer is heating up in style. The Dance of the Dragons continues, and that is sure to bring loss on all sides.
Along with a premiere date, HBO has also dropped a new trailer for House of the Dragon’s third season. It makes it clear that the gods will make their choice, and vengeance will be sought.
‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 Premieres June 2026Smith had already shared that the third season was expected in June 2026. He’s one for leaking the release months in advance, although he’s not always right. This time, he was, with the House of the Dragon Season 3 premiere set for June 21, 2026. Episodes will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
Fans will get one episode per week, as we’ve had from the days of Game of Thrones. Episodes won’t drop on HBO Max until they air on the live HBO channel at 9 p.m. ET/PT, a little like Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and The Pitt. The House of the Dragon Season 3 finale will air on August 9, 2026.
A New Trailer to Tease the Coming BattlesThe Game of Thrones prequel series will pick up from the back of the second season. Damon has now chosen to stand by his wife, Rhaenyra, and help her win back the Iron Throne. He tells her in the trailer that she has “power no man has ever wielded.”
At the end of the second season, Alicent went to see Rhaenyra after realizing that she had gotten it wrong all those years ago. She told Rhaenyra that she would make it possible for the Blacks to get into King’s Landing, taking the Iron Throne from the Greens.
Meanwhile, Aegon escaped King’s Landing, but he doesn’t mean to stay away. He wants revenge against his brother, Aemond, who he blames for the burns he’s suffered and the potential loss of his dragon. He may not get revenge though if House of the Dragon follows Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin.
There is a moment when Rhaenyra is screaming out, likely in grief. We know the Battle of the Gullet is coming, and that means a hard loss for Team Black. Which side are you on?
1995 Hit Crime Thriller Ranked No.1 for 'Best Movie Twists' of All Time
A good surprise twist adds a needed level of shock-and-awe that elevates a film's overall storyline to new heights. Director Bryan Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie released a 1995 crime classic that has been argued to have the best storyline twist of all time, and even won an Oscar for it.
In a list by IMDb, The Usual Suspects ranked at No.1 for having the best movie twist and for good reason. The film has since been revered by film critics, academics, and film institutions, with Rotten Tomatoes commenting that it has a simple plot that then "piles on layers of deceit, twists, and violence before pulling out the rug from underneath."
The success of The Usual Suspects is also thanks to its leading ensemble cast, including Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Pollak, Chazz Palminteri, and Pete Postlethwaite. Its storyline focuses on a group of criminals who meet during a police lineup and begin to re-tell their story of what led them there.
The plot follows the interrogation of Roger "Verbal" Kint, a small-time con man and one of the only two survivors of the criminal group. After a massacre and fire that took place on a docked ship, Kint tells a convoluted story of events of how his criminal companions ended up there and their involvement with a crime lord named Keyser Söze.
For the sake of the film, the plot twist won't be revealed, but it has stunned fans for decades since its release. Its plot has even been used as a pop culture reference in TV series and is highly talked about in academic settings.
Related: 2017 Hit Film Once Deemed ‘Unfilmable’ Ranked Among the ‘Best Horror Movies of All Time’
Singer came up with the film after reading a Spy magazine column called "The Usual Suspects" after Claude Rains' line in Casablanca. It led to the movie's overall concept of: What would possibly bring these five felons together in one line-up? McQuarrie then worked on the script with his own unpublished screenplays and a true story. The character of Keyser Söze is based on real-life New Jersey accountantJohn List, who murdered his family in 1971 before fleeing and taking on a new name.
The Usual Suspects was filmed with a $6 million budget and made $67 million after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. It led McQuarrie to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, and Spacet for Best Supporting Actor. The American Film Institute names the film as one of the top 10 film classics in the genre and for having one of the best movie villains of all time.
Antonio Banderas and Ex-Wife Melanie Griffith Snuggle up on the Couch 11 Years After They Split
Antonio Banderas and his ex-wife, Melanie Griffith, aren't letting their divorce stand in the way of a good friendship.
Banderas, 65, known for films ranging from Philadelphia and Evita to Shrek and The Mask of Zorro, married Griffith in 1996. Griffith, 68, scored acclaim for her famous role as Tess McGill in Working Girl, and went on to roles in projects like Celebrity and Crazy in Alabama. The duo has a daughter, Stella Banderas, and recently shared a sweet Instagram photo of them cuddling on the couch together with Stella's new husband, Alex.
"A lovely and fun moment yesterday in Los Angeles with my son-in-law Alex, my daughter Stella, and my ex-wife and lifelong friend, Melanie," Banderas captioned the photo, which showed the fearsome foursome curled up on the couch for a photo.
Banderas and Griffith officially divorced in 2015 after separating in June 2014, the Associated Press reported at the time. It was determined that Banderas would have to pay Griffith up to $65,000 a month in spousal support.
Does Griffith Still Have Antonio's Name Tattooed on Her Arm?Griffith famously had her husband Antonio's name tattooed on her upper arm, surrounded by a heart. Following their split, it was announced in the same article that Griffith began removing Banderas' name from the heart tattoo on her arm. However, paparazzi photos from back in 2002 show it's still a bit visible, if you look very closely.

How Many Children Does Melanie Griffith Have?Griffith also has a son, Alexander Bauer, with ex Steven Bauer, and a stepson, Jesse, with ex-husband Don Johnson. Of course, she and Johnson also have a very famous daughter, Dakota Johnson.
Back in January of 2025, Griffith celebrated her own mother, iconic actress Tippi Hedren.
In honor of Hedren’s 95th birthday, Griffith posted a series of photos and videos of her mother looking happy and healthy as she blew out her birthday candles. Sporting bright rep lips and turquoise jewelry, Hedren waved for the camera as she sat at the head of the dinner table.
“My beautiful Mama turned 95 yesterday! 🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰 She’s happy, healthy and feisty!!” Griffith posted on Instagram.

Grillo's Pickles' Latest Collab Is as Unexpected as It Gets
If there's one brand that's fully embraced chaos, in the best way possible, it's Grillo's Pickles. The cult-favorite pickle company has made a habit of leaning into offbeat, social media-friendly collaborations that feel tailor-made for group chats and TikTok feeds.
From teaming up with Pabst Blue Ribbon on a surprisingly drinkable pickle beer to dropping merch and limited-edition products that blur the line between novelty and genuinely craveable, Grillo's has carved out a niche that's equal parts strange and wildly appealing.
😋😋 SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter 🍳🍔
That strategy is paying off. As the pickle craze continues to ripple across food culture, Grillo's has positioned itself right at the center of it, playing both instigator and ringmaster. But just when it seemed like the brand had exhausted its bag of tricks, it's stepping outside the snack aisle entirely and into a category no one saw coming.
Grillo's Pickles x Burt's Bees Might Be the Strangest Collab of the YearEnter its latest collaboration with Burt's Bees, a partnership that somehow makes perfect sense once you get past the initial double-take. The two brands have teamed up to launch a limited-edition Fresh Cucumber Dill Moisturizing Lip Balm—a product that blends Grillo's signature dill pickle flavor profile with Burt's Bees' iconic lip balm.
The balm, which debuted exclusively at Walmart on April 22, leans into both brands' identities. It delivers a crisp cucumber-forward taste layered with a hit of dill and a faint touch of melon sweetness, striking a balance between novelty and something you might actually reach for daily. In other words, it's a fresh, garden-inspired twist on classic lip care.
Related: 10 Discontinued '80s Drinks We Would Give Anything to Taste Again
Packaging-wise, the collab doesn't hold back either. The tube features Grillo's recognizable pickle mascot, Sam Sam, giving it the kind of shelf presence that practically begs to be posted online. It's a clear nod to the social media moment this product is designed to capture.
The launch taps into a growing wave of food-inspired beauty—think flavors and scents that borrow from the pantry rather than the perfume counter. Combined with the internet's ongoing obsession with all things pickle, it's a savvy crossover that feels both playful and well-timed.
Not surprisingly, the launch is bringing surprise and delight to pickle lovers everywhere. "We can't wait to relish this new flavor!" said one Instagram follower. "I need this in my life!!!" and "This one's for the pickle girls," exclaimed two more.
Will pickle lip balm become a daily essential? Maybe not for everyone. But as far as unexpected collaborations go, this one manages to be equal parts weird, wearable and very on-brand.
AMC Shares First Look at New 'Shrek' Outhouse-Themed Popcorn Bucket That's Both Hilarious – And Absolutely Disgusting
Hard as it is might be to believe, Shrek is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, marking a quarter century of memorable fairy tale spoofs, gross-out potty humor and lovable misfit characters populating the hit animated series.
To better commemorate the special occasion, DreamWorks is reintroducing the first installment of the fan-favorite series in theaters across the nation. And if that weren't already exciting enough, AMC is sharing a first look at their collectible new popcorn bucket that's equal parts nostalgic as it is utterly disgusting.
According to USA Today, AMC will beginning selling their new "Outhouse Popcorn Collectible" starting May 1 to coincide with Shrek's return in theaters.
As the name might suggest, the new popcorn bucket specifically features Shrek's outhouse, complete with the titular character standing in the doorway. Conveniently, the outhouse bucket features an opening at the top and in the front doorway, as well as having a detachable Shrek figure for good measure.
Of course, the hilarious collectible references the opening sequence to 2000's Shrek, which begins by having the character relieving himself before completing his morning routine to the beat of Smash Mouth's "All Star."
Along with getting a large portion of popcorn added to your collectible at AMC locations across the country, the Outhouse Collective is available with a ticket for Shrek's screening this coming May. The limited-edition item is available only while supplies last, so any dedicated Shrek fans out there might want to reserve their tickets sooner rather than later!
An inventive parody of Disney's classic animated movies, Shrek follows a mean-spirited ogre (voiced by Mike Myers) who is forced to rescue a princess (Cameron Diaz) to win back his swamp.
A major critical and financial success upon its theatrical debut in 2000, the film spawned a long-running franchise that's spanned five sequels, the latest of which will arrive on June 30, 2027.
7 Books To Read After When You Need Something More Like ‘The Handmaid’s Tale'
When it comes to dystopian novels that show the way the world could realistically turn, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood tends to be at the top of the list. It’s been transformed into a TV series, which delves much deeper into the Gilead regime and the fight for rebellion.
Of course, Atwood’s sequel novel, The Testaments, is another must-read. You’ll also want to check out many of the Canadian bestseller’s other novels. What if you want something from someone different with a similar vibe? We have seven great picks, covering a variety of topics when it comes to the way the world could turn.
Penguin Random House
‘Vox’ by Christina DalcherI recently shared my review of this 2018 novel, which is one the darker side when it comes to dystopians against women’s rights. Vox by Christina Dalcher is set in a world where women have been silenced. They wear a wristband that limits them to a particular number of words per day, and when they go over those words, they’ve given a series of electric shocks that get worse the more they “abuse” their word limit.
At first, Dr. Jean McClellan was in denial, sure that nobody would approve the idea of silencing half the population. Then everything happened, seemingly overnight. Only, it doesn’t happen overnight, and the novel reminds us that we need to wake up and pay attention to everything that is happening around us. Next time, it could be us!
Delphinium Books
‘Before She Sleeps’ by Bina ShahIf you want something that takes place outside of America, Before She Sleeps by Bina Shah is the novel to put on your list. In Green City, a futuristic capital of South West Asia, sickness and war have led to collapse. The government decides state-sanctioned oppression is a must to protect the population, and that leads to women being forced into multiple marriages with one goal: to procreate.
Very much like the handmaids in Atwood’s novel, women don’t get a choice in the matter. However, they’re not all happy with the idea that is being forced upon them, and so, women start to gather together underground to take down the elite.
Hatchette Book Group
‘When She Woke’ by Hilary JordanIf you look through any list of books like The Handmaid’s Tale, you’ll find that When She Woke by Hilary Jordan is on many a list. The novel is a dystopian reimagining of The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, giving you an idea of the oppression to expect. This one may even feel a little close to home considering recent government decisions.
In a near-future, Roe v. Wade has been overturned, and the separation of church and state is no longer followed. Now, those who have committed a crime are “chromed” in a color to suit their conviction. Hannah has been chromed red, noting that she has murdered someone. Her crime? Having an abortion, and now she needs to navigate an unforgiving world as she questions her faith and the place she once called home.
HarperAvenue
‘The Birth Yard’ by Mallory TaterIf you’re looking for another Canadian author, Mallory Tater is one to follow. Her debut novel, The Birth Yard, follows a world where women are meant for one thing: breeding. Sable Ursu has just turned 18, and now everything about her is being controlled by men.
When the girls in this society get pregnant, during their second trimester, they’re sent to a place called the Birth Yard. This is where they prepare for motherhood, but it turns out they are also regularly drugged and monitored by their midwives, who are very much like the aunts from The Handmaid’s Tale. If they don’t take their pills, they’re punished, and now Sable and her friends need to figure out a way out after their loyalties are brought into question.
Penguin Random House
‘The Book of Guilt’ by Catherine ChidgeyNot only is this a dystopian, but it’s also an alternate history. The Book of Guilt by Catherine Chidgey is set in a world where nobody won World War II. The Allied and Axis powers had no choice but to come to an agreement, and it has led to a vastly different world.
Set in 1979 England, 13-year-old triplets Vincent, Lawrence, and William are the last residents at the Captain Scott Home for Boys. Everyone else has gone off to Margate or have died from some sort of mysterious illness, an illness that the boys have to take medicine from. However, there’s a sinister world underneath what seems to be a safe environment, and now the triplets find themselves questioning everything that they once knew.

‘The Unit’ by Ninni HolmqvistNot all dystopians are about subjecting women to forced births. Sometimes, it’s looking at what to do with the elderly population. In The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist that question is answered in a dark and questionable way. Women over 50 and men over 60 who are unmarried and childless end up in a retirement community known as The Unit.
They’re sent here to die, but not peacefully. Instead, their organs are taken from them one-by-one. Of course, this eventually leads to death, and all they can do is wait for the final one to be taken. When Dorritt arrives, she is just waiting for death, but then she falls in love, and suddenly, life in The Unit doesn’t seem all that fair.

‘Yesteryear’ by Caro Claire BurkeThis isn’t quite a dystopian novel, but it is something to check out if you love The Handmaid’s Tale. Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke follows a social media influencer who lives the “perfect” life. To her followers, she drinks raw milk and her husband is a farmer. Her children are homeschooled, and she gets to live an idyllic life as a housewife and stay-at-home mom.
Suddenly, she walks up in the 1800s, and everything changes! Now, she has to live the life that she has been preaching for so long. Is this a test from God? How has she ended up in the past? We get a story that takes us through two different timelines, the past and the current day, and we have to put together the clues to figure out what’s happened to her.
A-List Actress Lied About Her Height to Get Roles
Talent is what makes Nicole Kidman transfixing on the screen. But she's also a fashion icon for her height. That unique trait almost stopped the Australian star from ever reaching her big break. She had a plan to get around it.
How Tall Is Nicole Kidman? Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee CurtisDimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images
Kidman, 58, stands at 5'11, and she shaved off an inch or so to get roles. This was also a problem for her as a child. She towered over other children and wasn't cast in Annie.
"I was told, 'You won’t have a career. You’re too tall,'" Kidman said, according to The Guardian. "People would say, ‘How’s the air up there?’ Now, I get, 'You’re so much taller than I thought,' or men grappling with how high my heels should be."

She also had to deal with co-stars' insecurities to promote their work. "Whenever I go on the red carpet, I get sent shoes that are always so high. I’m like, 'Do they have a kitten heel? I'm going to be the tallest person – a giraffe!'"
Kidman once revealed she wanted her body to be different growing up. This made designers clamoring to dress her as an adult, surreal.
"Can you believe it?" she said in the documentary, In Vogue: The 90s, according to PEOPLE. "My whole life, I wanted to be 5'2" and curvaceous and suddenly, being 5'11 and completely sort of skinny and flat chested was like, 'Great, we can dress you.'"
The Academy Award winner is now in control of her career as a producer. Lately, her projects have been book adaptations like Margo's Got Money Troubles, Scarpetta, The Perfect Couple, and more. The fashion star loves a suspenseful, thrilling story.

20 Years Ago, the Most Anticipated Celebrity Baby Photos Finally Dropped—and People Couldn’t Believe It
What happens when one of the most famous faces of all time, who starred in action-packed flicks such as Top Gun, Mission Impossible, and The Last Samurai, has a baby with the it-girl of ‘90s teen TV? You get Suri Cruise!
As a couple, actor Tom Cruise and his then-wife, Dawson’s Creek alum Katie Holmes, were media sensations from the start. He was 44, and she was only 27. He was a big screen icon, and she was on a popular WB series. He infamously jumped on Oprah’s couch, professing his love for Holmes in front of millions of viewers, and she (not surprisingly) agreed to marry him.
Cruise and Holmes, a.k.a. TomKat, married in November of 2006 and welcomed daughter Suri on April 18, 2006.
Of course, this momentous event occurred roughly four years before Instagram’s launch. So unlike today’s celebrity parents, the Cruises didn’t have the option of posting their own birth announcement online. Instead, TomKat’s fans had to patiently wait for the couple to release photos of their brand-new baby girl.
When Did Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Introduce Suri to the World? While the paparazzi stalked the family, waiting for their chance to snap the first pics of Suri, Tom and Katie kept their daughter’s face private. That is, until October of 2006. TomKat finally agreed to release photos—and Suri made her grand debut on the pages of Vanity Fair. Photographed by icon Annie Leibovitz, the first picture of the trio was much more than a simple selfie. The Cruises posed outside of their Telluride, Colorado, retreat for what could only be viewed as an artistic family portrait.
Even though the first picture of baby Suri may have drawn fans to the magazine, the article also let people into this famous couple’s life in a way that the tabloids couldn’t. Cruise spoke candidly about his new daughter, saying, “She has Kate’s lips and eyes…I think she looks like Kate.” Katie (if you recall, Cruise was pretty much the only person on the planet to call her Kate) had a different opinion: “I think she has Tom’s eyes. I think she looks like Tom.”
Holmes also revealed how having a baby changed her life, “The moment the doctor handed me Suri…I was just ready. The feeling is indescribable. All I can say is the moment I looked in her eyes I felt like—Mom.”
Why did the Cruises wait to release photos of their kiddo? According to the Vanity Fair interview, they actually planned to share their own pictures. But, as Katie explains, “Then all the craziness began. This ‘Where is Suri?’ controversy. Tom and I looked at each other and said, ‘What’s going on?’ We weren’t trying to hide anything.”
View this post on InstagramFast forward 20 years, and fans can find plenty of photos of a now-adult Suri online. Tom and Katie famously divorced in 2012. Suri spent much of her childhood in New York City with her mom, Katie, and is now a college student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. While Katie certainly doesn’t overshare, she does occasionally post a few pics on Instagram to mark special events, such as Suri’s birthday.
7 Simple Wall Pilates Exercises for Lean, Sculpted Arms After 50
Achieving lean, sculpted arms is a goal many fitness enthusiasts strive to achieve—for good reason. Strong, toned arms not only look great during beach season, but they’re also essential for daily life. From carrying grocery bags to swinging a pickleball paddle or golf club to picking up your grandkids, solid arm strength is truly everything. If yours can use some improvement, optimizing your fitness routine is a great place to start. Something as simple as Wall Pilates can help you build sculpted arms after 50.
Wall Pilates is exactly what it sounds like—all you need is a wall to create resistance, and you’re ready to get started. You can also use a springboard—a wall-mounted system with springs—if you have access to one. This form of Pilates can help strengthen the arms and core while boosting flexibility and mobility.
While this training modality may seem like a breeze, don’t let it fool you. Wall Pilates can give you an incredible total-body burn.
“The wall is brutally honest, in a good way. It gives immediate feedback (you know when you’re cheating), reduces load by changing the angle so you can focus on control instead of strain [and] encourages proper joint alignment by working at a less severe angle. It’s basically your silent coach that doesn’t let bad habits slide and helps you to 'stand up' to your full posture and alignment,” explains Portia Page, CPT, NCPT, PMA, ACE and AFAA-certified instructor.
If you’re wondering how to get started, we have you covered. We spoke with the pros who share simple wall Pilates exercises to add to your arm day routine.

How Wall Pilates Differs From Standard Weighted Arm WorkoutsIf you’re looking to sculpt strong arms, it’s a natural reaction to turn to free weights or gym machines. But you don’t necessarily need traditional weighted workouts to achieve real results.
In fact, Page says, “You need consistency, control and smart positioning. A wall gives you all three. The wall also helps with balance and finding upright, standing alignment and good posture.”
Training with weights or machines is typically more momentum-driven and requires heavier loads, while wall Pilates encourages slower, more controlled movement, helping you really focus on how you move. It emphasizes stability over speed, muscle endurance over brute strength and precision over ego, Page notes.
Think of the wall as a foundational part of the Pilates practice. It often gets overlooked because it’s simply a wall, but it offers much more than you’d expect.
For instance, try standing with your head, upper back, hips and heels against a wall. According to Mo Wolfe, certified Pilates instructor and owner of Evolution Pilates in Port Washington, New York, “Most people can’t maintain that without compensating. That’s exactly why it works. You can cheat your heels forward a bit until [your body—from tailbone to head—contacts] the wall. The wall forces better posture, promotes length, organizes the shoulders, engages the abdominals and allows the arms to work correctly. Posture is paramount when you are over 50.”
And if you decide to work with a springboard, this tool offers plenty of versatility when it comes to body position and placement.
“Based upon how close or far you are from the wall, you can change the language of the move. The support of the springs works with the core to challenge each person based upon what their specific body needs,” explains Vanessa Johnson, NPCP, certified Pilates instructor and director of instructor training at Club Pilates.

‘Who’s the Boss’ Star Judith Light, 77, Goes Full Platinum Blonde Diva on the Red Carpet in Cannes
Judith Light's red carpet style seems to get even better with age!
The beloved Who’s the Boss star, who is best known for her role as the high-powered advertising executive and single mom Angela Bower on the classic ’80s sitcom, used to wear office chic styles like pussy bow blouses and high shoulder pads on the hit show. That always contrasted with the working-class style of her Brooklyn-born housekeeper, Tony Micelli, famously played by Tony Danza. The heartwarming show followed Micelli as he moved into her ritzy Connecticut home with his young daughter, Samantha, played by Alyssa Milano. Naturally, chaos ensued as Micelli clashed with Bower’s straight-laced ways. But in the present day, Light, who has earned acclaim for her roles on Ugly Betty and Transparent, is still an absolute fashion queen who brings fun and endless style to the red carpet. So when the diva attended The Terror: Devil In Silver photocall at the 9th Canneseries International Festival at Plage Du Majestic this weekend in Cannes, France, her butter yellow power suit was the perfect thing to show off her style prowess.

Would Judith Light Participate in a Who’s the Boss Reboot?Rumors of a Who’s the Boss reboot have gotten fans of the classic series curious about whether Light would return to reprise her role as Angela Bower. Last year, Milano, who played Tony’s daughter Samantha Micelli on the series, told Entertainment Tonight that she thinks a reboot would be a great idea.
“I think it could be really funny because, in my head, Tony is gonna be the exact same character but everything around him is just changing and growing,” Milano told ET. “So I’m excited about the prospect. I think it could be really, really fun.”
But Light isn’t sure she’d be able to commit to the show just yet. However, she made it clear that she also can’t guarantee what will happen in the future.
“In terms of where I am and the workload that I have right now, I don’t know what my availability would be,” the actress told PEOPLE last year. “When I started my career, I said I’d never do a soap opera and I’d never do a sitcom,” she continued. “Well, I did both those things. Then I said I would never marry an actor. And I did just that. So, I learned to never say never.”
Who could forget that classic series opening theme?
1970 Timeless Classic Inspired By Singer's Divorce Became a Haunting Breakup Anthem
There are few songs that stick with us like a snapshot of the biggest moments of our lives, especially a breakup anthem. Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" may have been written in 1970, but its themes of distance and love gone wrong feel like they were written about modern love.
The haunting breakup anthem was inspired by real-life events, which still connect with music lovers to create a timeless classic whose themes feel as personal and modern as they do timeless and classic.
Gordon Lightfoot Turned Heartbreak Into a Timeless ClassicGordon Lightfoot, the revered Canadian singer-songwriter known for his hit "Sundown," inspired by his love affair with backup singer Cathy Smith, is also known for using the sadness of his own divorce to create a timeless breakup song—still one of the most covered, quoted, and streamed breakup ballads 56 years after its release.
The Story Behind "If You Could Read My Mind"In 1970, Lightfoot released "If You Could Read My Mind" in the aftermath of his crumbling marriage to Brita Ingegerd Olaisson. Time spent alone during a summer in a vacant house in Toronto became the inspiration for the song.
The song compares the events in his relationship to a ghost movie and a paperback romance novel, but it’s Lightfoot’s confusion over the end of love that makes this one of the most quoted breakup songs to date.
The lyrics speak to modern audiences, as if Lightfoot is writing for listeners today.
"I don't know where we went wrong,” he writes. “But the feeling's gone and I just can't get it back."
Lightfoot's inspiration may have been personal, the longing and sadness of his own divorce, but he taps into themes that resonate with anyone and everyone who's seen love fade. It's an entirely modern take, despite being written so many years ago.
A Breakup Anthem That Still Resonates Today"If You Could Read My Mind" reached No. 1 on the Canadian Singles Chart in 1970 and charted in multiple countries the following year.
One of the most covered breakup songs of all time, Duran Duran’s Simon LeBon credits "If You Could Read My Mind" with inspiring the structure of the chorus "Don't save a prayer for me now" from the band's 1982 hit "Save a Prayer."
In 2014, inspired by the old-time production sounds of a 1947 Voice-o-Graph booth owned by "Seven Nation Army" rocker Jack White, Neil Young recorded a cover of "If You Could Read My Mind," still considered one of the most personal interpretations of the song.
Why "If You Could Read My Mind" Still Feels So RelevantThe timelessness of "If You Could Read My Mind" isn’t just a testament to universal heartache. Lightfoot’s song may have been written 56 years ago, but it perfectly captures modern emotional distance in relationships, something people still struggle to understand and express today.
"If You Could Read My Mind" captures relationships when “the feeling’s gone,” but neither can explain why. It’s a universal experience that is as timeless as Gordon Lightfoot’s expertly crafted hit. By sharing the real heartache experienced during his own divorce, Lightfoot taps into universal themes of love, loss, and heartache 56 years after first revealing his own heartache to fans.

This Costco Find Doubles as an Easy Brunch and Meal Prep Win
Hosting brunch doesn’t have to mean cooking for hours. Right now, Costco has a heat-and-serve option that makes it much easier to feed a crowd without the extra work.
A new oversized quiche spotted in-store is already getting attention after being shared by Instagram creator @costconewdeals on April 26. It stands out for both its size and how easy it is to serve, especially if you’re planning for Mother’s Day weekend or looking for something you can bake once and portion out for meals throughout the week.

At $5.99 per pound, a roughly four-pound quiche that can easily serve multiple people comes in around $24. Instead of juggling multiple dishes, this gives you one centerpiece that’s ready to bake and serve.

It also works well beyond hosting. Once baked, leftovers can be portioned out and reheated for quick lunches or easy meals throughout the week. For dinner, it’s just as simple: heat it, add a side salad, and the meal is done.
Shoppers are already taking notice. One commenter, @momcartfinds, wrote, “Oh, I have to try this YUM!” while @erin_funfoodie added, “Looks like I need to go back ASAP.”
It’s a straightforward option that covers multiple meals without adding extra stress, whether you’re hosting a gathering or just planning for the week ahead.
