Mick Jagger Almost Died of a Heroin Overdose, Says New Rolling Stones Biography
Mick Jagger nearly died of a heroin overdose back in 1976, according to a new biography of the Rolling Stones.
Jagger, 82, is spoken about at length in The Rolling Stones: The Biography, the new book by Bob Spitz. Inside, former Rolling Stones Records president Marshall Chess claims he had to resuscitate Jagger at his apartment in 1976 after the two shared one gram of heroin, PEOPLE reported. After visiting a "Buddhist heroin dealer," Jagger collapsed on the floor.
“His lips were turning blue. I didn't know what else to do. I was freaked,” Chess wrote. “Mick Jagger's gonna die in my f-----g apartment!”
Actress Faye Dunawayarrived shortly after, and Chess gave Jagger CPR. After calling for an ambulance, Dunaway helped them secure a private hotel room at the hospital away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.
Who is Mick Jagger's Fiancée?Decades later, Jagger is living a more peaceful life. The singer has found happiness these days with his fiancée, Melanie Hamrick. Jagger and Hamrick are parents to a 9-year-old son, Deveraux. For Jagger’s birthday last year, Hamrick shared a sweet photo of her two men alongside each other sporting bunny ears. (Swipe to the third photo in the slide to see the shot.)
“Happy Birthday!!!!🎊 ❤️🥳,” Hamrick captioned the three shots, which started with a photo of her alongside Jagger looking dapper in formal wear. In the second slide, the couple posed for the camera outside on what looked like a restaurant patio. But it was the third shot, which featured the adorable Deveraux mugging for the camera alongside his smiling dad, that made waves on social media.
View this post on Instagram Do Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick Plan on Getting Married? While Jagger and Hamrick are engaged, they seem to have no official plans to get married.
Hamrick made it clear that the couple has no serious plans, but that doesn’t mean they may not pursue it in the future.
“We’ve been engaged two or three years,” Hamrick told Paris Match, a French publication, last year. “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
Hamrick continued by saying that what’s most important to the couple is that they’re there for each other no matter what. A retired ballerina and author, Hamrick has also always responded playfully when asked about her age gap with Jagger in the past.
“He’s younger than me,” Hamrick told Page Six, taking it in stride. “He’s amazing, really is.”

Fans Are Convinced a 'DWTS' Pro Just Hard Launched a New Romance—and it's With a Former Contestant
Is Sasha Farber off the market? That's the question that many Dancing With the Stars fans are wondering after the ballroom pro posted an April photo dump on Instagram.
Farber, 41, has been spending time with Season 19 Dancing With the Stars competitor Janel Parrish. Over the past few weeks, Farber has been posting photos and videos of himself and Parrish, 37, hanging out, but his new post seems to suggest that the two are more than just friends. In some of the photos, Parrish can be seen planting a kiss on Farber, which is the main reason that fans are convinced that the two are an item.
View this post on Instagram"April has been amazing," Farber captioned the Instagram post, uploaded on Monday, April 27. He added a red heart and a red rose emoji. Parrish popped up in the comments section of the post to respond.
"Yes it has," she agreed with Farber, adding a white heart and the crown emoji.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the comments from Farber's DWTS co-stars and fans poured in.
"Is this a Hard Launch?" asked Dancing With the Stars judge Derek Hough.
"Happy you’re happy my friend," wrote DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd.
"So happy for you Sasha. You’re a good man and you deserve happiness," read another comment.
View this post on InstagramIf Farber and Parrish are dating, it would be the first relationship that Farber has gone public with since his split from Bachelorette star Jenn Tran in mid-2025. After meeting on Season 33 of the dance competition show, Farber and Tran dated for about a year before calling it quits. Farber was previously married to fellow Dancing With the Stars pro, Emma Slater.
As for Parrish, People magazine reported that she separated from her husband, Chris Long, earlier this month after seven years of marriage.

'American Idol' Standout Jordan McCullough Teases a 'Risky' Taylor Swift Night Performance (Exclusive)
With his beautiful voice, Jordan McCullough was awarded one of only three 2026 American IdolPlatinum Tickets after performing “Grandma’s Hands” by Bill Withers in Hawaii, and what made it even more meaningful for the 27-year-old worship director from Murfreesboro, TN, was his ticket was voted on by his peers.
“I think that is just the highest honor I could have received all season knowing that this is a singing competition,” McCullough exclusively told Parade. “I’m in a competition ultimately to see who’s the best singer this season and to know that all of these people that I look up to so highly thought that I had a great performance and voted for me to get the Platinum Ticket, that just meant so much.”
As a worship director, McCullough is used to singing inspirational songs, but he says that the theme nights like "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" or "Disney Night" haven’t thrown him. In fact, he claims it hasn’t been challenging at all.
"It’s just been more sober feeling and me stepping into full creativity of how God designed me to be,” he said. “I’m learning throughout this experience that inspirational music doesn’t just happen inside of the church, but it happens in intimacy, it happens in love, it happens in all forms of encouragement. And so having the opportunity to step outside of my genre and do rock and roll, and country, and all these other types of themes is revealing to me, and it’s a special place to be in.”
So, for “Taylor Swift Night” tonight, Jordan had no problem finding a song – which he wasn’t able to reveal – that spoke to him.
“I appreciate Taylor Swift’s work so much,” he explained. “I appreciate what she’s done for the music industry and who she is as a person. And so, knowing that I know a lot of her catalog, I decided to go with a song that I wasn’t as familiar with, but I’ve been known for taking big risks here on this season. So, I think this upcoming song selection and episode will be another one of those risky moments. I’m excited to see if it pays off.”
Following is more of our chat with Jordan about the type of album he’d like to make, the judges’ comments, and what has surprised him most about American Idol.

So, if you were to make an album, would it be inspirational music, or would you like to incorporate some of these new things that you’ve learned?
I definitely want to incorporate some of the new things that I’ve learned. My hope would be that no matter what I’m singing, if it’s an R&B song, if it’s a rock song, at the end of the song, you’re inspired. And so, my faith and my belief in Christianity are always going to be the foundation, but I’m open to singing multiple genres of music and releasing music that just inspires.
You get to work with some terrific vocal coaches, who I’m sure help you produce your songs in a style that works for you. What’s that been like?
The vocal coaches here are just incredible. They listen really, really well. They mentor every week really well. And they also leave room for my creativity to flow as well, so that I appreciate a lot. I have the best team here on Idol, and it’s a great combo.
Last week for Disney night, Carrie Underwood said you were "perfect," a really great compliment, but it’s not something that you can use to improve. How much are you able to incorporate the judges’ comments when they do have constructive criticism?
I think it’s always encouraging to have those highly sought-after comments, like “that was perfect,” and “drop the mic” moments. But I’m also listening to not just the feedback that they’ve given me, but also every contestant that’s on the season, so that it applies to not just them, but also me. So, I’m very attentive to what they’re saying to each and every single one of us after our performances.
You auditioned for The Voice, but you didn’t get a chair turn. What did that teach you going into your American Idol audition that you think maybe got you your Golden Ticket?
It’s so precious. I’m grateful that I had that opportunity to set me up for the success that I found here on American Idol. I was at a time of trying to prove myself without knowing myself to so many people. And my journey here on American Idol was just knowing that I’m enough. And so, I came in to my audition singing Goodness of God, right where I was in the time of my life and it’s led me to the Top 7. So very grateful.
Talk about dealing with the challenges of American Idol. What’s been surprising to you? Have you learned things about song selection, about gaining confidence so you’re more comfortable on a bigger stage?
I think what surprised me the most is the pace of the show. The show happens every Monday. Most concert singers have months, if not multiple months, to prepare for performances. We have days in between each show to prepare for performances and the teams behind the team do so well at making sure that we’re prepared. But yeah, the pace surprises me a lot.
Song selection is a big thing to me. It means a lot to me. I like to think that I've picked some very encouraging yet challenging songs that helped me grow. But I’d say that the pace is definitely what surprises me the most.

Do you read the comments on social media after your performance? And if so, do you consider what the fans have to say?
I have to be completely honest, I do read the comments, but a lot of people have encouraged me not to. But I am just very fortunate to receive very encouraging responses each week.
I want to know what they have to say, because ultimately, these are the same people buying records and showing up to performances and buying tickets. And so, I want to know what they have to say. I want their input. But also, I’m confident enough to know that the reason why they fell in love with me is because of my authenticity. And so I’m not losing myself in the comments, but finding support in them.
Disney/Eric McCandless
Win or not – because the field is getting narrow, so you must have started thinking about plans for after the show — how do you plan to use the Idol platform? Do you have music that you want to get out there? Or will you be starting from scratch?
Yes, I will definitely want to build off of the momentum that I have for what’s happening here on the show. My goal and dream would be to land a cinema record or record or write something for a film and kind of go down that route. But yeah, I’m ready to just release some music.
What about Broadway?
I would definitely be open to that as well.
You’d have to move.
I love New York. So that works, too!
Is what you’re saying is that if you got a chance to do an album, you’d like to do like an album of movie songs?
Not necessarily movie songs, but maybe a record that would be featured in a film. I have to think that I have the voice to, again, inspire, but also have a big ballad moment. I don’t know, I think it’d be really, really cool based [on] the momentum that I’m receiving on the show, and then go more into my artistic creativity of who I am as an artist.
American Idol airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Streams next day on Hulu.

The true secret to a beautifully designed home is not found in the most expensive furniture or the boldest accent walls, but in the subtle art of lighting. Lighting is the silent architect of atmosphere; it has the power to shift a room from a cold, functional space into a warm, inviting sanctuary. Whether you are aiming to create a focused area for productivity or a tranquil nook for evening relaxation, layered lighting is essential. By mixing overhead fixtures with smaller, localized sources, you create depth, visual interest, and a sense of coziness.
Homeowners are increasingly looking for ways to maximize the style of limited spaces—such as cramped bedside tables, bookshelves, or compact home office desks—without causing visual clutter. The goal is to find pieces that serve as sculptural elements while providing high-utility functionality. When you select lighting that incorporates natural-looking materials, such as wood tones or soft, neutral fabrics, you instantly add an element of sophistication. This approach turns a basic necessity into a thoughtful design statement that reflects your personal aesthetic.

New Poll Reveals California As the Best State For Food in the U.S.
if you were to ask 10 people which state they thought had the best food in the U.S., you'd likely have around 10 different answers.
While some people might readily assume the endless variety of New York might make it the suitable choice for the best state for food within the country, a new poll has recently pointed to California as having the greatest culinary offerings in the U.S.
As per a recent study by HelloFresh, the Golden State rounded out the top of the list for the best food states in the nation. As part of the study, the organization polled 5,000 Americans to gather their thoughts on the country's current culinary landscape.
In their findings, HelloFresh highlighted California as the highest rate answer, along with New York, Texas, Louisiana and Florida following close behind.
In contrast, those same survey answers pointed to several U.S. states which left data participants woefully unimpressed, including Delaware, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Additional research showed that, above any other participants, pollsters from Louisiana felt the most confident about their current culinary standing in the U.S., with 94% of Louisianan participants believing their state had the best food.
Above all else, HelloFresh's research showed that California tended to be associated with three different food specialities, including Mexican food, burgers and shrimp tacos.
New York, meanwhile, tended to be associated with bagels and cream cheese and pizza; Texas with Tex Mex and barbecue; Louisiana with crawfish, Cajun cuisine and gumbo; and Florida with seafood, key lime pie and fresh-squeeze orange juice.
"Food has always been about more than just sustenance – it's how we connect, share stories and pass down traditions," said Michelle Doll Olson, Senior Manager, Culinary Development for HelloFresh US. "From California shrimp tacos and Minnesota Juicy Lucy, to Louisiana gumbo and New York bagels, the dishes that define each state carry generations. of family memories and cultural pride."

Melania Trump Issues Bold Statement After Jimmy Kimmel's Scathing Donald Trump Comments
A lot of people may have laughed at Jimmy Kimmel's latest Donald Trumproast, but Melania Trumpwasn't one of them.
The First Lady spoke out after Kimmel joked about the Alternative White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which he delivered Thursday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, citing that if Kid Rockcan do his own show, he can too.
As usual, Kimmel didn't hold back, offering a scathing roast of the president two nights before the actual event was scheduled to take place. It should surprise absolutely no one that he was not invited and there were no comedians on tap to perform.
The White House Correspondents' Dinner 2026 was supposed to be headlined by mentalist and magician Oz Pearlman, but it ended early instead, after the president and First Lady were taken to safety following reports that a gunman rushed security and traded gunfire with law enforcement before being tackled near a staircase leading to the ballroom.
Two days prior, Kimmel took aim at Trump's recent AI Jesus-doctor situation, declaring, "By the way, in the unfortunate event that our president has a medical emergency tonight, do we have a doctor in the house — oh, I’m sorry. I mean, do we have a Jesus in the house? I always confuse them, too."
That was after saying, "Our first lady is here. Mrs. Trump. You have a glow like an expectant widow." He also made the jokes about the Epstein Files, hush money scandals, Iran, and Trump's administration.
Kimmel has received a lot of heat for his jokes, despite making them days before the actual event ended in gunshots ringing out. One of his biggest critics was the First Lady, who didn't hold back, sharing a lengthy statement on X that was posted on Monday.
Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.

In it, FLOTUS wrote, "Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America."
"People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate," she continued. "A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community."
President Trump Calls for Jimmy Kimmel to Be Fired by ABC, Echoing Wife Melania's Statement
President Donald Trump is calling for ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel after he called Melania Trump an "expectant widow" two days before the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
The president posted his message to Truth Social on Monday, Apr. 27 shortly after Melania called out the late-night host for his "hateful and violent remarks."
"Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, who is in no way funny as attested to by his terrible Television Ratings, made a statement on his Show that is really shocking," the president wrote. "He showed a fake video of the First Lady, Melania, and our son, Barron, like they were actually sitting in his studio, listening to him speak, which they weren’t, and never would be."
"He then stated, 'Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow,'" he continued. "A day later a lunatic tried entering the ballroom of the White House Correspondents Dinner, loaded up with a shotgun, handgun, and many knives. He was there for a very obvious and sinister reason. I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel’s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale. Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC."

Earlier on Apr. 27, the first lady made also made a rare statement about Kimmel's remarks.
"Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy—his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America," she wrote on X. "People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate."
"A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough," she continued. "It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community."
During an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, Apr. 23—two days before the actual event—the comedian presented an “alternative” White House Correspondents' Dinner monologue.
The segment was set up as if Kimmel was in the Washington Hilton ballroom and the president, first lady, and other administration officials were there.
Kimmel's latest controversy comes just months after his show was briefly pulled off air due to his comments about slain political influencer Charlie Kirk.
Kimmel, Disney, and ABC have not publicly addressed the Trumps' statements.

Since then, the style has become a mainstay in women's wardrobes around the world and has inspired countless other brands to embrace the versatile design.
In 2025, von Furstenberg spoke about the impact her iconic wrap dress had on her life and the lives of other women while accepting the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum.
"I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew the kind of woman I wanted to become.
I wanted to be a woman in charge. I became that woman by creating a simple little dress that embodied confidence," she said. "Because it was a dress, I was able to share that confidence with millions of women. Fifty years later, that little dress is still a symbol of freedom and my dedication to inspire and empower keeps on growing."
Parade was interested to know why wrap dresses remain one of the most versatile styles to this day, so we consulted celebrity stylist Julie Matos to get her thoughts on what makes wrap dresses so popular. We also asked her to weigh in on wrap dress trends for 2026 and share her tips for styling the iconic design.

Matos, who’s worked with Cobie Smulders, Natalie Dormer, Julianne Moore and other celebrities, says von Furstenberg's wrap dress "really shifted how women got dressed."
"It made things feel easy and flattering, but still polished. That balance of looking put-together without overthinking it is still what people are looking for now," she tells Parade. "It gave women something that felt both practical and confident, and that idea has carried through into so many categories since."
The wrap dress has remained a go-to style over the last five decades, and Matos says the reason why is quite simple.
"It’s one of those pieces that can work on literally every body," she states. "It adjusts, and it’s easy. You don’t have to think too much, which is why people keep coming back to it."
In a 2013 interview with New York Magazine, von Furstenberg described the magic she first felt while wearing the wrap dress.
"They were very simple, and they were like nothing, little clothes. And they certainly didn't look like anything before they were worn, but when they were worn on a body, they took the shape of the body. The body language went with it, and they just made perfect sense," she said.

Wrap Dress Trends for 2026Over time, the wrap dress has evolved quite a bit.
"It used to feel more classic and fitted, and now it’s a bit looser, more relaxed and a little more styled, depending on how it’s worn," Matos tells Parade.
In 2026, the stylist says wrap dresses feel "cleaner" and "more intentional."
"I’m seeing asymmetry, stronger shapes and pieces that feel more elevated and less predictable," she explains. "You also see that reflected off the runway, whether it’s a more tailored, wrap-inspired look or something more styled and directional. Even cleaner, minimal versions show how the wrap has shifted into something more polished and streamlined."

3 Things To Look for While Shopping for a Wrap DressThomas Iannaccone/WWD/Penske Media via Getty Images
Whether this is your first foray into wrap dresses or you've been rocking them for years, Matos says there are three main things to look for while shopping for wrap dresses.
1. Fabric"I always start with the fabric because that’s what really changes how it sits and moves," Matos states.
The stylist says jersey or stretch knits are great wrap dress materials since they "move with the body and stay in place." Meanwhile, silk or satin "feels more elevated but can shift more."
Viscose or crepe offers "the best balance," per Matos, since it has movement but still holds its shape. Cotton, on the other hand, "reads more structured and casual" but won’t give you a "fluid drape."
"For body types, fabrics with stretch tend to work best for curvier shapes because they prevent pulling," she shares. "Petite frames usually benefit from lighter fabrics, and for a larger bust, something with a bit more weight helps everything feel more secure."
2. FitNext, Matos considers how a wrap dress fits at the waist and whether it feels secure.
"The wrap should sit snug at the waist without feeling tight, and the neckline should lie flat without pulling or gaping," she says. "If there’s a belt or tie, it should actually support the fit, not just sit on top. If you’re adjusting it throughout the day, it’s usually not the right one."
"Construction details like an inner tie, snap closure or enough fabric overlap make a big difference," Matos says. “A great wrap dress should feel effortless if the construction is right. You don’t have to think about it.”

7 Years Later, ‘Big Bang Theory’ Universe Returns With First Look at Spinoff
Bazinga! HBO Max officially released the first images and premiere details of the highly anticipated Big Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, during this year's CCXPMX festival in Mexico City.
The new series will debut this July with Kevin Sussman back in the role of comic book store owner Stuart Bloom. However, as Sussman described at the CCXPMX panel event for the show, he is met with a harebrained task.
In a YouTube video short captured by Omelete, Sussman explained, "In a nutshell, Leonard and Sheldon have created this device that Stuart winds up breaking and triggering a multiverse apocalypse that Stuart then has to repair. Of course, Stuart is not the right guy for the job. But on his quest, he has his friends."
Those friends in question are Stuart's girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist Bert (Brian Posehn), and quantum physicist Barry (John Ross Bowie). Throughout the show, the Stuart gang comes into contact with the "alternate-universe versions" of characters from The Big Bang Theory. So, of course, expect a number of madcap adventures and laughs along the way.
(L-R): John Ross Bowie, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, & Kevin Sussman in "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe"/ Photo by Colin Remas Brown/HBO MaxIt was also revealed at the CCXPMX festival that Emmy and GRAMMY-winning composer and singer-songwriter Danny Elfman will craft the original theme music for Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Elfman is known for creating TV series theme songs for The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives, and Tales from the Crypt.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is the third sitcom to be released as a part of the Big Bang Theory franchise, with Young Sheldon and George & Mandy's First Marriage as the first and second, respectively. Earlier in the year, Stuart co-creator Chuck Lorre told PEOPLE he was "pretty excited" about the newest comedy and described going into production on the aforementioned series as a "big swing" that could either be "revered or reviled."
Lorre added, "I just wanted to do something that challenged me, that was uncomfortable and in unfamiliar territory, and the special effects stuff, the computer graphics, all those things. Most of my career has been two people sit on a couch and talk... I wanted to try and do something with all the extraordinary computer graphics available now and see if it could be funny."
All 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory are available to view on HBO Max.
1980 Best Original Song Nominee Was County Star’s 'Story of My Life'
There are many memorable songs that people forget were written for a feature film. Willie Nelson had the task of writing a song for his romantic movie. He didn't know it would become an iconic capsule of his life.
Willie Nelson Didn’t Expect ‘On the Road Again’s SuccessThere can be a lot of pressure with songwriting. Nelson wrote "On the Road Again" for 1980's Honeysuckle Rose. The singer played Buck Bonham, a traveling country singer who is in a love triangle. Amy Irving and Dyan Cannon played his love interests.

The movie wasn't as memorable as the hit. The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars, but lost to "Fame" for Fame. Nelson looked back at the song he quickly wrote on a plane in his book, Energy Follows Thought: The Stories Behind My Songs.
"If someone asked me to write an anthem, I’d freeze," he wrote, according to American Songwriter. "That’s way above my pay grade. An anthem is too serious for me. I think of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ or ‘America the Beautiful.’"
"On the Road" became an anthem without him trying. But it was also very personal to the writer. "Without knowing or trying, in a few little lines I’d written the story of my life," he claimed.
The song didn't win the Academy Award, but it did win a Grammy for Best Country Song. Nelson hasn't been nominated again. It was later used in many more movies and TV shows.
It's one of the many songs played during the main character's run across the country in Forrest Gump. That film won six Oscars, including Best Picture.

'The Waltons' Star Mariclare Costello Dead at Age 90
Mariclare Costello, the actress best known to many viewers for her memorable role on The Waltons, has died at age 90.
Costello passed away on April 17 in Brooklyn, according to an obituary shared by her family. Over a decades-long career in film, television, and theater, she built a respected résumé that ranged from classic family dramas to cult horror favorites.
For fans of The Waltons, Costello was known as schoolteacher Rosemary Hunter, a recurring character who appeared in 15 episodes during the show’s first five seasons from 1972 to 1977. Her character became an important part of Walton’s Mountain and famously married Rev. Matthew Fordwick, played by John Ritter, during the fourth-season premiere.
Looking back on her time with the series, Costello said in a 2011 interview with Terror Trap, “I had the greatest time with Richard Thomas and John Ritter. We laughed from the beginning of the day until the end of the day. We spent a lot of time together. They were great.”
Before and after her time on the beloved CBS drama, Costello worked steadily across Hollywood. She appeared in the cult horror film Let's Scare Jessica to Death as Emily Bishop, a haunting vampire figure that became one of her most remembered screen performances.
Her additional credits included Ordinary People, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, and television appearances on Murder, She Wrote, Chicago Hope, Judging Amy, and more.
Costello was also a longtime member of The Actors Studio and appeared on Broadway four times. She was married to Allan Arbus, known for playing Maj. Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H, and welcomed one daughter together. They were married up until his death in 2013.
Americans Reveal What They've Stopped Buying in 2026 Due to Insane Prices, and Honestly, It's Depressing
A Redditor is going viral after posting in the popular AskReddit subreddit, seeking to find out what people are giving up due to the high cost of living.
The question received immediate feedback from Redditors, who were quick to share which items they are going without now that the prices of so many essentials are stretching household budgets to the limit. Keep reading to find out what Americans say they've had to do without recently, as global conflicts, tariffs, and the increased cost of fuel have put so many people into the red.
An Ask Reddit Thread Goes Viral Due to High PricesA Reddit post generated a lot of responses this month when a person posed the question, "What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad?"
The post elicited 4,900 responses from Americans who admitted to being stretched too thin to buy certain things. "Name-brand chips. Prices have gone insane," one person wrote, getting a lot of responses from others who shared that things like Doritos were going for $6 or $7 a pop at their local stores.
"I used to say steak, but now it's becoming beef in general," another person admitted.
"Seriously," another person chimed in. "Ground beef used to be the go-to protein in my house. Burgers, cottage pie, meatloaf. But now it's more expensive than chicken by me."
Another response that seemed to hit home with people had to do with dining out. "Honestly, fast food," they wrote. "Prices are basically restaurant-level now, so I’d rather just cook at home or grab something local that’s actually better." I have to agree with this one. As a family of five, grabbing McDonalds at the drive through is just as expensive as sitting down at a restaurant!

It's Not Just Food People Are Doing WithoutWhile food seemed to be one of the biggest pain points for people, plenty also named entertainment options. "Concerts," one person wrote. "Tickets for two, Uber, dinner/drinks. Depending on the artist, it’s anywhere from 400-600 bucks a night."
Several other people noted that streamers like Netflix have raised prices so much over the years that they've had to cut out their subscription services to save money. "Same. I think many did," someone else added. "We were glad customers before and accepted the price hikes for the high-quality series."
People Are Cutting Back on Financing as WellWhen prices go up, many people opt to put things on their credit cards so that they can pay for stuff over time. However, several people noted that, even that, was now off the table for them. "Interest rates are high," one person wrote. "When I'm paying so much more for food and gas its hard to commit to 8 percent for a car or a new house. I feel bad for people with student loans right now as well."
The Reddit Thread Hints at a Bigger ProblemThe entire thread was very depressing, and I found myself nodding along at several of the different things people were cutting. However, the part that hit me the hardest was the comments from the people who were already in dire straits and who are now physically suffering because of it.
"I'm eating less, and I feel terrible, and it's harder to concentrate, and my mood is worse. I miss food. I'm very tired of eating a cup of oats with water, and that's it, for my one meal a day," another person wrote, before noting that they were still buying groceries for their kids, but even that was getting tough. When another Redditor suggested they try a food pantry to supplement, the OP responded that the shelves were bare there, too.
"This isn't a 'few of us' problem anymore," they responded. "It's starting to get into the 'majority of us' territory."
I have to admit, I can absolutely agree with that. Hopefully, something changes before too many of us find ourselves unable to afford even the basics anymore.

Be Prepared for a Riskier National Park Experience This Summer
For many travelers, summer means one thing: heading into the great outdoors. America’s national parks, iconic places like Yosemite and Grand Canyon, draw millions of visitors each year seeking scenic hikes, wildlife encounters, and a break from city life. But in 2026, the national park experience may come with new challenges and potentially greater risks.
Related: You Can No Longer Camp or Park at This National Park
Rising Crowds, Fewer StaffNational parks are bracing for another surge in visitors this summer, continuing a years-long trend of record-breaking attendance. At the same time, staffing levels are heading in the opposite direction.
The federal government has already reduced thousands of National Park Service positions, with additional cuts proposed in upcoming budgets. This imbalance, more visitors and fewer workers, is at the heart of the issue. Parks that were already operating at capacity are now being asked to handle even larger crowds with significantly reduced teams.
What Less Staffing Means on the GroundPark staff not only manage the visitor centers and lead expeditions through the woods, they also respond to emergencies, maintain trails, manage wildlife risks, clean facilities, and protect fragile ecosystems. With fewer employees available, experts warn that parks may struggle to maintain basic operations.
That could translate into slower emergency response times for injured or lost hikers, reduced maintenance of trails and restrooms, and fewer educational programs or guided experiences.
In some cases, visitors may encounter closed facilities, longer wait times, or less oversight in high-traffic areas. And in more extreme scenarios, safety risks could increase, especially in remote or physically demanding environments.

A More “Self-Reliant” Travel ExperienceOne of the biggest shifts this summer is the expectation that visitors will need to be more self-sufficient than in previous years.
With fewer rangers available, there may be less guidance on trail conditions, weather hazards, or wildlife activity. That means travelers will need to plan more in advance, research routes, pack the proper supplies, and understand park rules before they arrive.
Even experienced travelers may notice the difference. Something as simple as finding help quickly in an emergency could become less predictable.
This doesn’t mean parks are unsafe, but it does mean the margin for error may be smaller.
Infrastructure Strain and Environmental ImpactStaffing cuts don’t just affect visitor services; they also impact the parks themselves. Maintenance delays can lead to deteriorating trails, overflowing trash, and increased wear on natural resources. At the same time, higher visitor numbers put additional strain on already fragile ecosystems.
Some parks have experimented with reservation systems and visitor caps in recent years to manage overcrowding. But with those measures changing or being rolled back in certain areas, the pressure on infrastructure could intensify.
The result? A more crowded, less managed environment that may feel very different from the idealized national park experience.
Why This Summer Could Feel DifferentFor decades, U.S. national parks have been known for balancing accessibility with preservation. But this summer, that balance may be harder to maintain.
With staffing reductions coinciding with peak travel demand, visitors may notice fewer services, less oversight, and a greater need to navigate the parks independently.
It’s not just about convenience, it’s about expectations. Travelers who arrive prepared for a more hands-on, self-guided experience will likely have a much smoother trip than those expecting a fully supported one.

How to Prepare for a Safer VisitIf you’re planning a national park trip this summer, preparation will be key.
- Start by researching your destination thoroughly like trail conditions, weather forecasts, and any alerts issued by park officials.
- Bring more water, food, and safety gear than you think you’ll need, especially for longer hikes.
- Arriving early, visiting less crowded areas, and having a backup plan can also make a big difference in avoiding peak congestion and potential risks.
- Most importantly, don’t rely on immediate assistance being available. Treat your trip with the same level of planning you would for a remote outdoor adventure.
America’s national parks remain some of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. But this summer, the experience may come with added challenges. With fewer staff and more visitors, the responsibility for a safe and enjoyable trip is shifting, at least in part, to the traveler.
That doesn’t mean you should cancel your plans. It just means you should go in prepared, informed, and ready to take a more active role in your own adventure.
Chili's Debuts New $6 Popping Boba Marg As May's Margarita of the Month
There's nothing like an ice-cold margarita to combat the hottest days of summer.
Whether regular or with some kind of fruity spin like strawberry or mango, a blended or on-the-rocks marg can make a humid summer afternoon all the more bearable, leaving little reason to wonder about the drink's endearing popularity today.
As an extension of this, margaritas have become a trademark item of the iconic Tex Mex restaurant chain, Chili's, providing guests with numerous flavorful cocktail options to help parch their thirst.
Even when held up to the brand's extensive lineup of unique margarita offerings, however, Chili's latest cocktail innovation might very well be the company's most unique drink yet.
According to a recent press release shared with us over email, Chili's is officially getting in on the boba craze with their brand-new $6 Popping Boba Marg.
The official Margarita of the Month for Chili's May calendar, the new margarita features a subtle blend between Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Monin Watermelon, house-made sour and Dragonfruit Popping Boba, delivering a unique flavorful profile unlike any other in the restaurant's history.
As the name might suggest, the new Popping Boba Marg takes obvious inspiration from the continued interest surrounding bubble tea among contemporary customers. Rather than the traditional tapioca pearls commonly served in boba tea, popping bubbles are far more delicate and usually feature some fruit-inspired inspiration, such as (in this case) dragonfruit.
"The Popping Boba Marg taps into what younger guests are gravitating towards: drinks that are fun, customizable and full of texture," Chili's said of the new drink. "It builds on the momentum of the Margarita of the Month program by pairing a fan-favorite platform with one of today’s most viral drink trends."
As great as the new margarita might sound, it's worth remembering that the Popping Boba Marg will only be around for a limited time starting April 30 throughout the remainder of May. With that being said, customers might want to go ahead and get theirs before it's gone!
Dave Grohl's Daughter Announces Major Update In Music Career
Dave Grohl's daughter Violet is continuing to follow in her dad's footsteps with a major milestone.
"So excited to announce my first headline shows," the 20-year-old shared on Instagram on Monday.
The daughter of the Foo Fighters icon will be hitting the road for three shows in New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. starting in June.

"SO HYPED," one wrote.
"So happy and excited for you," added another.
"Gosh I am so excited! You are a star. Get ready baby girl," said a third.
Also among the comments were tons of requests that Violet schedule more shows across the US and Europe.
While her music talents have been on display since she was young, as she's been known to join her dad on stage over the years, Violet's career has seen major momentum recently as she's signed a record deal and released new music.

Specifically, her singles "Thum" and "Applefish," released late last year, have garnered thousands of views on YouTube. Her debut album, "Be Sweet To Me" is releasing on May 29, according to her Instagram.
While perhaps it may be easy to credit her father's connections to her success, Dave recently noted that he wasn't involved with any of his daughter's projects.
“So Violet, my daughter, she’s 19, about to turn 20, she made this album with a producer named Justin Raisen, and she did it on her own," he said in a February interview on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X. "She met the producer, and they would go to the studio every day, and she would send me songs when she was finished. But I had absolutely nothing to do with this record at all."
"I’m the dad who wants to be there and know everything, and she’s just totally doing her own thing." he added. "It’s amazing.”
Violet isn't the only daughter of Dave's to have pursued music as he recently shared that his 16-year-old Harper is featured on his recent single, "Your Favorite Toy." The record by, the same name, came out on April 24.
Dave shares Violet and Harper with Jordyn Blum whom he married in 2003.

Ross was one of three cousins who banded together to form The Ronettes in the late '50s, with her signing alongside Ronnie Spector and Estelle Bennett. The American girl group from Washington Heights, New York City, began performing when they were young and caught the interest of Phil Halikus, who introduced them to Colpix Records producer Stu Phillips. Their audition was a success and landed them their first recorded tracks.
After becoming frustrated with their label, Estelle called producer Phil Spectorfor an audition. The Ronettes became a chart-topping group of the '60s with hits like "Be My Baby," "Baby, I Love You", "(The Best Part of) Breakin' Up," and "Walking in the Rain". Many may recognize "Be My Baby" for having been included in the hit dance film Dirty Dancing. They would go on to become opening acts for hit rock bands like the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
The group would later break up in 1967, with Ronnie later marrying Spector and divorcing in 1974. Their hit track "Be My Baby" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, with the trio later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
"We had a dream, but with a dream you need to have people behind you with your dream. For us, my mom knocked on doors when people didn’t want to hire and put under contract three young pretty girls that they said were going to change their minds down the road. I thank you for that — God knows what you’ve done," said Ross in her speech.
Ross was born on Jan. 27, 1946, and married an interviewer for The 700 Club, Scott Ross in 1967. The two were married until his death in 2023 and had four children together. After The Ronettes, Ross worked in real estate in Virginia Beach.
