How Did Oprah Lose Weight? Inside the TV Icon's Health Journey
Oprah Winfrey’s weight loss transformation made headlines in recent years, but shedding some pounds wasn’t just about her appearance; it was about redefining wellness on her own terms.
From the intense public scrutiny she faced to her surprising revelations about her weight loss journey, the media mogul has remained open about her evolving story.
Oprah Winfrey’s Weight Loss JourneyDuring the pandemic period and its aftermath, the award-winning host experienced health issues involving her knee.
She revealed in 2022 that she had undergone double knee surgery in 2021, the first in August, followed by another in November.
"When I came home the first time, I literally could not lift my leg,” she mentioned in her digital magazine, Oprah Daily, adding “I couldn't lift my heel off of the bed, and I vowed if I was ever able to get up, walk around, and move again — that I would take advantage of movement, exercise, and of being able to be fully in my body."
Despite the setback, this sparked her journey toward better health.

“There is a sense of knowing that there isn’t as much time left and I am at peace with that knowing,” she revealed during her guest appearance on Al Roker's 70th birthday on Today. “There’s a sense of urgency for me about living well.”
At the time, she felt a renewed sense of freedom and comfort in her body after years of being overweight, which had limited her physically and contributed to her knee issues.
In 2023, the public saw a subtle change in Oprah's appearance and she later opened up about using medication as part of her holistic wellness routine.
"The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift," she told People in an exclusive interview.
At the time, she opted not to name the specific drug but mentioned that it served as a “maintenance tool” to help manage her weight.
However, her revelation sparked unexpected backlash after not disclosing the specific type of medication she used. The public widely believed it was a GLP-1 agonist like Ozempic or Wegovy.
In December 2025, the 20-time Daytime Emmy winner opened up about her GLP-1 weight loss medication, which she had taken but briefly stopped in early 2024 to "beat the medication” but resumed after gaining 20 pounds in one year, as cited by People.
According to her, she no longer sees weight loss as a short-term goal but as an ongoing lifelong process, as mentioned in her new book with obesity expert Dr. Ania M. Jastreboff, Enough: Your Health, Your Weight and What It’s Like to Be Free. “I feel more alive and more vibrant than I’ve ever been.”

Who Are Tom Hanks' Kids? Meet the Family Following in Dad's Entertaining Footsteps
Tom Hanks is one of the most revered actors in Hollywood, loved by fans and colleagues alike. But when he’s not acting and producing some of our favorite movies, he’s spending time with his wife and kids, because Hanks is a family man through and through.
“A man is blessed with a family sitting down front like that,” he said in a teary-eyed speech at the Golden Globes. “A wife who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is. Kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is. I can’t tell you how much your love means to me.”
So who are the kids the Phoenician Scheme actor speaks so highly of—and has he shared the silver screen with any of them? Here’s everything we know about Tom Hanks’ kids.

Tom Hanks has four kids—two with his first wife, the late Samantha Lewes (Colin and Elizabeth),and two with his current wife Rita Wilson (Chester “Chet” and Truman). Colin was born in 1977, Elizabeth in 1982, Chet in 1990 and Truman in 1995.
“My son Colin was born when I was very young. As well as my daughter, but that means we have this gestalt understanding because they remember when their dad was just a guy trying to, you know, make the rent. My other kids, they were born after I had established a beachhead in every way. And so their lives were just different,” Hanks told The New York Times.

Hanks shared Colin and Elizabeth with his late wife Lewes, whose real name was Susan Dillingham. The Toy Story actor married his college sweetheart in 1978, shortly after they’d welcomed their first child Colin. Elizabeth was born in 1982, and the couple divorced five years later in 1987. Lewes died in 2002 of bone cancer.
Elizabeth wrote a 2025 memoir titled The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road, in which she recounts a six-month-long road trip she took on Interstate 10 to find answers about her mother's past. In the book, Elizabeth, who goes by E.A., describes years of her childhood "filled with confusion, violence, deprivation, and love" while living with her mother in Sacramento after her parents' divorce. She believes her mother had undiagnosed bipolar disorder.
"Saying that my mother was mentally ill," E.A. wrote, "that she was possibly 'bipolar with episodes of extreme paranoia and delusion,' makes sense of the nights sitting with her on a blanket in the driveway, my mother sobbing and convinced there were men inside the house, bugging the walls, waiting for us in our bedrooms."
Eventually, E.A. wrote, her mother's "emotional violence became physical violence." E.A. later made her father aware of the abuse, which led to Hanks gaining primary custody of E.A. and Colin.
Rita Wilson Tom Hanks and his wife Rita WilsonHanks met his now-wife Rita Wilson on the set of Bosom Buddies (1980–1982)while he was still married to Lewes. The pair spent more time together on the set of Volunteers (1985), but it wasn’t until three years later that they would tie the knot. A year after Hanks’ divorce from Lewes, he married Wilson in 1988.
The couple welcomed their first child, Chet, in 1990 and their second son, Truman, in 1995.
How old was Tom Hanks when he had his first kid?Hanks had his first child and got married at the young age of 21, while he was still trying to break into Hollywood.
He has shared his initial fears about being a dad so young, but over the years, he’s learned that parenting is about the simple things.
“All that most parents hope is that their children are happy, funny, well adjusted, and have a passion for something in their lives," he toldOprah Winfrey. "What would negate everything is if the next generation that we're responsible for has a passionless existence. And that's cause for occasional sleepless nights.”

Colin is the oldest child of Hanks and Lewes. His birthday is Nov. 24, 1977. Colin was the first to follow in his father’s footsteps, becoming an Emmy Award-winning actor, director and producer. You’ve likely seen him in King Kong (2005), The House Bunny (2008), Dexter (2011), the Jumanji movies and The Offer (2022)—and you’ll know him when you see him because he bears a striking resemblance to his father.
“When I was starting off, I was sort of lovingly naive, thinking that [being the son of Tom Hanks] wasn’t as big a deal as it is, that I would get the benefit of the doubt that I was my own person, and that doesn’t happen,” Colin told Dax Shepard on Armchair Expert.
Colin briefly owned a handkerchief company called Hanks Kerchiefs. The company went out of business in 2023.
He married former publicist Samantha Bryant in 2010. The couple shares two daughters, Olivia, born in 2011, and Charlotte, born in 2013.
Elizabeth Hanks View this post on InstagramElizabeth is the second child of Hanks and Lewes. Her birthday is May 17, 1982. Elizabeth goes by the professional name E.A. Hanks, which she uses for articles, essays and her memoir.
Elizabeth has written for Vanity Fair, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Time Magazine and The New York Times. Her memoir, The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road, was published in April 2025.
Despite not pursuing acting full-time, Elizabeth isn’t a stranger to the screen. She has a few acting credits herself, including background acting in Forrest Gump (1994) and That Thing You Do! (1996) and voiceover work in Big City Greens (2019–2022).
Chet HanksChester (Chet) is the oldest child of Hanks and Wilson. His birthday is Aug. 4, 1990. He is both an actor and singer/songwriter, where he has gone by the professional name “Chet Haze” and, more recently, “Chet Hanx.”
Chet’s most notable onscreen appearances include Fantastic Four (2015), Shameless (2016–2018), Empire (2018–2019) and Your Honor (2020–2023). He has also acted alongside his dad in Greyhound (2020), and his song “White Boy Summer” is featured in Hanks’ movie A Man Called Otto (2022). He currently has a recurring role on Netflix's sports comedy series Running Point.
In his spare time, Chet runs a personal training business called HanxFit Club.
Chet has spoken about growing up with famous parents and the privilege that he experienced.
“Fame is the most powerful drug known to man. My experience is even more complicated because, on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous. I was just the son of somebody famous, I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition, and that created a lot of contempt,” he said in a now-private YouTube video.
Along with his parental struggles, Chet previously went to rehab in 2014 for substance abuse that he’d been dealing with since he was 16 years old. He says his daughter Michaiah, whom he shares with his ex Tiffany Miles, is the reason he “turned [his] life around and got sober.”
Truman HanksDia Dipasupil/Getty Images
Truman is Hanks’ youngest child, whom he shares with Wilson. His birthday is Dec. 26, 1995. Truman did not start his film career as an actor. He’s primarily worked on production crews, but he has recently stepped onto the screen in two films with his father.
He was featured in News of the World (2020)and A Man Called Otto, where he plays a young Otto (Hanks’ character). Truman has also worked on crews for Black Widow (2021), Atypical (2021), West Side Story (2021), Hanks’ 2023 film Asteroid City and the TV series Succession and Fallout.

All of Hanks’ kids have dabbled in acting, but Colin is the only one who has pursued the career full-time.
Chet has been featured in a few television roles, but he’s also a singer/songwriter—and two of his songs have been included in mainstream media, including A Man Called Otto and Empire.
Truman is breaking into acting, but he’s mainly known for his production crew roles. His biggest role has been playing young Hanks in A Man Called Otto.
After Hanks, Chet, Truman and Wilson, who produced the film along with Hanks, all worked on A Man Called Otto, it brought into question where nepotism plays a role in the Hanks family. However, Hanks vehemently denies that his sons are nepo babies.
“Look, this is a family business,” Hanks said. “This is what we’ve been doing forever. It’s what all of our kids grew up in. If we were a plumbing supply business or if we ran the florist shop down the street, the whole family would be putting in time at some point, even if it was just inventory at the end of the year.”
Even Elizabeth, who is not necessarily in the Hollywood world, has acted in some of her father’s movies and done voice work.
What do Tom Hanks' kids do?While most of Hanks’ kids are actors or fall somewhere in the entertainment realm, they all have other gigs besides onscreen roles.
- Colin is a director and producer who recently produced the John Candy: I Like Me documentary alongside Ryan Reynolds, who was also producing.
- Elizabeth is a writer who has held bylines in HuffPost, Vanity Fair, The Guardian and more. Her memoir, The 10, came out in April 2025.
- Chet is a singer/songwriter and a personal trainer at his company HanxFit Club.
- Truman is credited mainly in the Camera and Electrical Department of the production crew, where he has worked as a director of photography assistant, a first camera assistant and a loader.
The 69-year-old has three grandchildren, who are all girls. Colin Hanks has two daughters—Olivia, born in 2011, and Charlotte, born in 2013. Chet has one daughter, Michaiah, born in 2016.
Hanks and Wilson describe themselves as the “cool grandparents”—though not for the reason we all think they’re cool. In fact, Colin has said that his girls don’t really care that their grandfather is Tom Hanks.
“They’re aware of what he does for sure,” Colin told Us Weekly. “It’s just the same way they’re aware of what their father does for a living, but they don’t have really much interest in it…I mean, I wasn’t on Hannah Montana, so they don’t really have any interest in what I do.”
When Did Michael Jackson Leave The Jackson 5? All About The Famed Family Musical Act
The Jackson family is very much back in the spotlight (not that they ever really left) with the recent release of Michael, a new musical biopic centered on the talented clan’s most iconic member, pop superstarMichael Jackson. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the biographical drama charts the life of the acclaimed American singer from his Indiana upbringing and Motown beginnings in the 1950s and ‘60s through to his record-breaking solo career in the late 1970s and ‘80s.
But a good chunk of the film, which hits theaters worldwide on Friday, April 24, revolves around the performer’s time with The Jackson 5, the family musical act managed by his father Joe Jackson and was originally comprised of Michael and his older siblings Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson. Though Michael’s thrilling individual success would ultimately eclipse those of his siblings (save maybe for his sister,Janet Jackson), The Jackson 5 were a huge deal in their own right: One of the best-selling musical acts of all time, the group sold over 150 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
With Michael premiering this week, let’s take a look back at Jackson’s history with The Jackson 5, including the interpersonal drama therein and when and why Michael Jackson chose to depart the band.
When did The Jackson 5 start? The Jackson 5 began in 1964, when Jackson family patriarch Joe noticed third-eldest son Tito’s interest in music and skill with the guitar. He wrangled Jermaine and Jackie to join their sibling in a musical group; the older bros were later joined by tambourine-shaking Marlon and conga-playing Michael (then just five years old) in 1965.
Dubbed The Jackson 5 by talent agent Evelyn LaHaie, the band’s first stage performances took place at local talent shows and in school auditoriums, but they got a considerable bump up when they won the talent competition at New York’s famous Apollo Theater in August 1967. They signed with their first label, Steeltown Records, in November of that year. And the rest was music history!

The band of brothers saw their first four singles hit number one in 1970, when lead singer (and eventual King of Pop) Michael Jackson was only 12. What was The Jackson 5’s first song? The group’s debut single was "Big Boy," released via Steeltown Records in January 1968. However, it was as “I Want You Back,” their first single released after they signed with the iconic Motown Records in 1969, that would prove to be the brothers’ breakout hit. They would perform the enduring track during their national television debut on The Ed Sullivan Show that December.

What was The Jackson 5’s biggest hit?Though they put out many popular songs, including “ABC" (1970), "The Love You Save" (1970), and "Never Can Say Goodbye" (1971), the 1970 ballad "I'll Be There" is The Jackson 5’s biggest hit. At six million copies sold worldwide, it’s the group’s bestselling single and their fourth consecutive number one hit.

Why did The Jackson 5 break up?Ultimately, The Jackson 5 disbanded due to both desires for solo projects as well as creative frustration with Motown Records.
Both Michael and Jermaine Jackson had embarked on solo musical careers during The Jackson 5’s run, including MJ’s iconic records Off the Wall and Thriller, but after the group moved from Motown to Epic Records in 1976, Jermaine remained with Motown (he was then married to Hazel Gordy, the daughter of Motown founder Berry Gordy) and officially left the band. Younger brother Randy Jackson replaced him and the group continued under the stage name The Jacksons.
Michael announced his departure in 1984, with Marlon to follow soon thereafter in early ‘85. The remaining members went on indefinite hiatus in 1989, though various combinations of the brothers would reunite to perform together in the decades that followed.

(Photo by Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images) When did Michael Jackson leave The Jackson 5?Following the stratospheric success of his albums Off the Wall and Thriller (the latter of which remains the best-selling album of all time, with estimated sales over 70 million worldwide), Michael formally exited The Jacksons (formerly known as The Jackson 5) in December 1984 after the final show of their Victory Tour on Los Angeles, California, as he wanted to focus on his solo career.
Which Jackson 5 brothers married the same woman? As if working alongside your siblings isn't hard enough, the Jacksons added some interpersonal drama to their The Jackson 5 tenure: Randy Jackson began dating Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza in 1986 and later went on to have two children (Genevieve Jackson and Randy Jackson Jr.) with the singer. After the couple split, Oaziaza began dating Randy's brother and bandmate Jermaine Jackson, to whom she was wed from 1995 to 2003. The pair share two children, Jaafar Jackson — who plays Michael Jackson in the Michael biopic — and Jermajesty Jackson.

Which Jacksons are still alive? As of April 2026, seven of the ten Jackson siblings are still alive: Rebbie, Jackie, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy and Janet. Of those, Jackie, Jermaine and Marlon were all original members of The Jacksons 5. Fellow band members Michael and Tito Jackson died in 2009 and 2024, respectively. (Brandon, another Jackson sibling and twin brother to Marlon, died shortly after birth in 1957.)

Eve Plumb Reveals Real-Life Davy Jones Connection Behind Iconic ‘Brady Bunch’ Episode
Eve Plumb is best known for playing middle child Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch. But the beloved actress once dreamed of becoming Mrs. Davy Jones. While promoting her 2026 memoir Happiness Included, Plumb, 67, looked back on her days on The Brady Bunch and reflected on “Getting Davy Jones,” one of the most iconic episodes of the 1970s sitcom.
The episode, which originally aired Dec. 10, 1971, on ABC, was about Marcia Brady’s (Maureen McCormick) desperate attempt to get the meet the Monkees heartthrob. But in real life, it was Plumb who had the inside connection.
“In my real life, my father had signed the Monkees to RCA in his job,” Plumb told the Pop Culture Preservation Society in a new interview. “And so I would go and listen to the Monkees record, and Davy Jones used to say, ‘Well you know I'm going to I'm going to marry you when you grow up.’”
Plumb reiterated that there was nothing creepy about Jones’s comment, noting it was “fine” at the time. She even dished that her pre-teen self didn’t rule out a future marriage to the “Daydream Believer” singer.
“You know, sort of like it seemed like a possibility,” she laughed. “You know, you don't know at 10 or 12, you don't know how your life is going to be. You have no, you know, you want to grow up, but there's no idea. There's nothing to draw on and think about what this might be like.”

Jones’s Brady Bunch episode is one of the most memorable from the series. While he had previously met Plumb through her father, in an interview posted on Pop Goes the Culture TV, the singer said he never “thought about” if the other Brady stars were fans of his music when he made the guest appearance. “I just tried to be natural when I talked to them as if I was just Davy Jones, this guy who was visiting,” he said.

Eve Plumb’s dad was a successful music producerPlumb’s father, Neely, was a record producer and A&R executive. In the 1960s, he helped discover the Carpenters after spotting them at a “Battle of the Bands” contest. In an interview with NPR, Richard Carpenter recalled his first meeting with the A& R man. “His name was Neely Plumb – P-L-U-M-B, and I knew that name anyway because … I looked for credits, songwriter credits, producers, all that stuff on records that I’d buy. …I knew his name. And he wanted to know if we were interested in recording.”
In the new interview, Plumb said of her father, “He signed the Jefferson Airplane, too. He was a very hip dad.”
Plumb noted that her father used to take out ads in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, which he designed himself. “We did have some of them,” she added. “Some of them were saved, we may have sold some at auction.”

"Daaang, what happened here?" one person wrote, sharing a photo of a younger Levine with facial hair for comparison.
"I hope that's AI geez," someone else said.
"Are you sure it is him?" a third commenter asked.
"No facial hair like usual, and he’s getting older," a fourth X user added.
Levine hasn't addressed any of the online chatter about his looks and his recent Instagram photos haven't drawn as much attention as his red carpet appearance, though he does have comments limited.
The "Moves Like Jagger" singer made headlines earlier this month after he confirmed that he'd be returning for another season of The Voice.
"I will be back," he told People magazine. "I'm having so much fun doing it. Since I came back a few seasons ago it's just been a blast and I'm super happy to keep it going as long as they'll have me."
This will mark Levine's 19th season on the popular singing competition show.

Your Soul Lesson, Based on Your Birth Date
Every single soul incarnated on Earth came with a specific set of energies. This energetic package contains personal and karmic signatures that ultimately give way to one (or many) soul lessons. What’s tricky about understanding soul lessons is that they are often tied to a unique gift or talent we were born with. And as long as we are cultivating that gift, there’s a sense of reassurance of being on the right path towards evolution. It turns out that how we develop our natural talents is key and intimately tied to the fulfillment of our spiritual lesson in this incarnation. Read on to discover your soul lesson in this lifetime, according to your birth date.

Each Birth Date as a Soul LessonWhile there are many different ways to understand our soul’s journey, zooming in on our birth date can be enlightening. Read on to discover more, based on your birth date. Disregard birth months.
Born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Lead Without Becoming EgotisticalIt’s true—your birth date’s connection to the Sun does mean you were born to, in some form or another, shine. There is something about you that is special and stands out. And while it’s absolutely valid to bask in that glory, you must keep your ego in check. This is due to the shadow side of solar energy being arrogance and selfishness.

Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Feel Without Letting Emotions Control YouBeing born on a day ruled by Mother Luna means you feel intensely. In a certain way, you’re like the ocean’s water, experiencing constant highs and lows. Allowing yourself to feel and taste the depth of it all without being tormented is key—and may even save you some dramatic headaches. In the end, tomorrow will always be a new day!

Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Live Life to the Fullest Without Falling Into ExcessLucky you for being born on a day ruled by the most fortunate planet of all. This probably shows up as fortune or even a blessing, inviting a passionate, larger-than-life approach to life. But because Jupiter is physically enormous, its effects may translate to some type of excess. Finding the middle ground between fun and “too much fun” is key for you.
Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st – Your Soul Lesson Is to Innovate Without Living in Constant DisruptionBeing born on a date ruled by Uranus means you’re a trendsetter in an area of your life. You were born to innovate, which often comes with the need to take drastic twists and turns. At times, this can feel like living on a constant edge—affecting not only you, but those in your inner circle. Finding comfort in normalcy benefits both your well-being and nervous system.
Born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd – Your Soul Lesson Is to Express Yourself With Focus and ClarityMercury, the messenger of the gods, had a busy job in mythological lore. He was always flying from one place to the next, keeping up with the incoming messages. Born on a date associated with this swift planet means you may love change and movement. This can end up creating a lack of focus and even depth, so adapting to a slower pace may feel positive and refreshing.
Born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Find Intimacy While Maintaining Your Personal EssenceVenus, the planet of love and relationships, accompanies your soul’s journey. This translates into a deep desire to relate and find rapport with others. But relationships have an effect on us, regardless of their nature. The shadow side of your connection to Venus is losing your essence, especially when it comes to ignoring your gut for the sake of maintaining the peace.

Born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Create Magic While Maintaining GroundedBeing born on a Neptune-ruled date means you have one foot on the ground and another one in a higher dimension. A part of you lives in the liminal space between heaven and earth, and while this is your magic and creative genius, it may be ungrounding. Coming back down to earth once in a while ensures the practical areas of your life run smoothly.
Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th – Your Soul Lesson Is to Work Hard, Play HarderYou were born to succeed by excelling at one of your unique gifts and talents. As you get older, many aspects of your life continue to fall into place due to your hard work and diligence. But being born on a Saturn-ruled date means that, if you’re not careful, you could overdo the seriousness behind your drive. Leaving room for fun and flow is your greatest lesson.

July Just Solved Our Biggest Carry-On Conundrum With Its Chic New Top-Load Suitcase
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
We spend so much time obsessing over the logistics of a trip—from finding the perfect flight to narrowing down the best excursions—that we often overlook the one thing we interact with every single day: our luggage.
We might have a flawless itinerary, but the reality is that the physical act of packing has remained largely unchanged for decades. Most carry-ons are "clamshells"—they split down the middle, requiring you to clear off an entire bed or a massive patch of floor just to reach your toothbrush.
Enter the July Capsule Carry-On. Launching April 23, this bag is a departure from the status quo, replacing the split-open design with a top-down packing system. It’s the kind of "why didn't we think of this sooner?" innovation that makes travel noticeably more efficient.

July
Why the Top-Load Design WinsThe traditional carry-on is rarely designed for tight spaces. If you’re in a boutique hotel in London or a cruise ship cabin, opening a standard suitcase takes up the entire walking path. The Capsule opens like a door, allowing you to pack vertically and reach into the deep interior without flipping the whole bag over
The "Tech-Savvy" UpgradesBeyond the shape, July packed this bag with features that address actual travel frustrations:
- Built-in Tracking: It includes a TSA-compliant lock with integrated global tracking compatible with Apple Find My and Google Find My Device.
- Lockable Wheels: Ever had your bag roll away on a slanted train platform? The SilentMove Pro wheels actually lock to prevent movement on inclines.
- Magnetic Access: A "QuickGrab" magnetic pocket allows you to snag your passport or phone without fumbling with zippers in the security line.
- Massive Laptop Storage: The front pocket is expanded to fit devices up to 18 inches, which is a rarity for a carry-on.
At $395, it’s a premium investment, but for the traveler who prioritizes a "minimalist footprint," the space efficiency is hard to beat. It launches in five sophisticated colors—from Alpine Green to Dune Amber—and is built for the person who wants to stay organized without the 50/50 split struggle.

Remember Cereal Box Prizes? Kellogg’s Is Bringing Them Back for the First Time in Years
Kellogg's cereal is about to come with its own set of collectibles once again—just like the good 'ol days.
The fan-favorite cereal company teased the return of the Millennial-era ritual in October 2024 with a limited-time Squishmallows partnership and in 2021 with the limited launch of its collectible Bowl Buddies. Now, years later, it's doubling down on the nostalgic offer in a new collaboration with Disney that returns collectible toys and prizes to its cereal boxes for the first time in a long time.
"At Kellogg’s, there’s a real sense of childhood nostalgia tied to the moments families remember most–and breakfast is a big part of that," Laura Newman, vice president of brand marketing at WK Kellogg Co., shared in a statement. "Bringing toys back inside the box reintroduces that sense of discovery through a simple, screen-free moment of play that parents can now share with their own kids. Collaborating with Toy Story 5, which explores the role of toys in a tech-driven world, made this moment even more meaningful."
Kellogg's Is Putting Collectible Toys Back in Cereal BoxesAccording to the April 23 press release, the special-edition cereal boxes will bring back the joy of surprise toys nationwide across several of its brands, including Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Cocoa Loops.

Each box will include a surprise toy, with options such as classic collectible figurines, spoons, trading cards, and movie-ticket promotions inspired by Toy Story 5.
"At the heart of Toy Story 5 is the idea that toys inspire creativity, friendship and play," Lylle Breier, executive vice president of partnerships, promotions, synergy and events at The Walt Disney Studio, added. "We are delighted to collaborate with Kellogg’s on their Toys Back in the Box campaign that gives families a fun way to explore the playful world of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the gang.”

Kellogg's nostalgic promotion with Disney will be available at retailers nationwide beginning on Sunday, April 26, per Thursday's announcement—but only for a limited time, while supplies last (prices may vary).

Nikki Glaser Laughs Off On-Air Wardrobe Malfunction on 'Live With Kelly and Mark'
Like a perfect roast comic, Nikki Glaser leaned into a recent wardrobe malfunction during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark.
Unaware she was flashing hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos (and the audience), Ripa called it out during Glaser’s April 22 live appearance: “You can see your underpants.”
“It’s just for you,” Glaser quickly quipped, adjusting her dress. “Right down the barrel. Sorry, guys.”
Ripa, never missing a beat, replied, “We don’t mind at all,” prompting Glaser to fire back, “I’ll send you a picture later.”
This wasn’t the first wardrobe mishap to hit the Live stage. During a March 2025 episode, Consuelos’ pants zipper was down mid-segment—something he himself ended up calling out while playing the fan-favorite “Stump Mark” game with Ripa.
“Wait, did anybody notice that?” Ripa asked mid-banter.
Consuelos laughed it off before admitting, “My fly was down the whole time,” later joking the moment was karma for calling his brother an “overachiever.”
And according to Ripa, former cohost Ryan Seacrest had his own history of on-air wardrobe issues. She said Seacrest would “constantly” split his pants on set, with the tighter fits leading to mishaps during more “athletic things.”
“You should make sure you have a cotton crotch,” Consuelos added, joking, “I heard that [the] previous guy here, Ryan Seacrest, would split his pants here a lot!”
Despite his exit, Seacrest has said he remains close with Ripa. “We're extremely close, we're very good friends, we'll remain good friends,” he told E! News. “But there's that hour of communicating with somebody… you laugh, and then, of course, you can't remember what you said to each other. So, I'll miss that part.”
Leighton Meester Talks 'Lucky' 20-Year Legacy of 'Gossip Girl,' What It Still Means Today (Exclusive)
Actress and singer Leighton Meester has many exciting projects currently in the works, from her recent appearance in Nobody Wants Thisto her upcoming rom-com alongside Jared Padalecki, Guarding Stars. However, the star also took some time to reflect on both her recent milestone birthday and the 20th anniversary of her hit show Gossip Girl in 2027.
"I was very young when I started and even when I finished that show," Meester said. "In many ways, I feel like it continues to have a life, which is really lucky because a lot of the time you do a show and you never really hear about it again, no matter how amazing you feel it was or how wonderful the experience was."
Meester continued, "People who weren't even born yet when it came out [now] watching it...it must seem so retro to them. But yeah, it was a huge part of my early 20s, and when I really think about those memories, I'm like, yeah, that seems like about 20 years ago, which is amazing to be privileged enough to reflect on something that happened 20 years ago."
"I think it's very comforting for people," she added.
Of her ongoing career, Meester said, "I'm so grateful to still be working, and being able to express myself in my line of work is just so incredibly lucky."
On April 9, Meester also celebrated her 40th birthday, which likewise gave her time to reflect—although she is also looking ahead, particularly thinking about learning to golf.
"I really want to take up golf, so I think I'm going to maybe do a lesson or go with some friends and play a game. I don't, obviously, really know how to play, but I'm interested in that," Meester explained of her birthday plans. "Being 40, it's a good, solid number. I feel gorgeous and vibrant and strong and healthy and grateful and surrounded by love."
"I just reject the notion in our culture that's impressed upon us that an age is part of someone's value. It has nothing to do with it. I think every human being is valuable, and my goal in life, if I can influence it at all, which, the truth is, I have no control. But, if I can control anything, I would love to be old. I want to live a really long time, if I can," Meester said of aging.
"It's coming for us all, if we're lucky," she said.
Meester has also partnered with Godiva once again, this time in celebration of the chocolatier's 100th anniversary.
Leighton Meester narrates a 2D animated film for Godiva's 100th anniversary.Godiva
"I'm a huge chocolate lover, and also, even growing up, I was a fan of Godiva. I always got it as my Christmas gift under the tree. And a box of chocolates, it really just fills my heart and makes me feel happy. I'm really so proud and honored to be working with Godiva. I think it's the best," Meester said of the partnership.
The collaboration includes Meester narrating a 2D animated film, depicting vignettes of celebrations of which Godiva has been a part. For it, Meester reprised her role as Lady Godiva.
To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Godiva has released a limited-time Centennial Collection, comprising an assortment of 10 chocolates that reflect the brand's history.
‘Perfect Crown’ Is Hulu’s Hottest New Obsession. Here’s Why It Should Be Your Next Binge
If you haven't been watching Perfect Crown on Hulu, what are you waiting for? The newest KDrama has been heating up screens across the globe, making the new series a hit worldwide. Headlining the series are pop singer-turned-actress IU and actor/model Byeon Woo-seok, the latter looking every bit the prince he plays in the series.
The series, which airs on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ worldwide, follows the people’s favorite royal, Grand Prince I-AN (Byeon), as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle with other members of the royal family. With pressure on the prince to wed, he strikes up a marriage of convenience with Huiju (IU), the fashion exec heir of a Korean conglomerate, but as the pair work together to advance their own agendas, emotions begin to flare, and things don’t go quite as smoothly as they planned.
Fun Fact: IU’s stage name was conceived by her management company and means, “I and You become one through music.”
The prince and fashion exec share a history as they went to the same private school together and competed against each other in class and sports (think Hogwarts and the different Houses). There's also Prime Minister Min (Noh Sang-hyun), another classmate who was in the same House as Huiju and always had a crush on her.
Even if their relationship is fake, they have an uphill battle as the power-hungry Queen Mother (Gong Seung-yeon) opposes the relationship and will do anything to ensure her son ascends the throne. It also seems she wants to make sure Grand Prince I-AN doesn't marry for love, so we wonder if she chose one brother over another when deciding to choose between position and power over love and happiness.
Related: He Voiced Jinu in ‘KPop Demon Hunters’—Now He’s Headlining Netflix’s Next Rom-Com
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the series was the biggest KDrama premiere for Disney+ to date. Perfect Crown premiered on Friday, Apr. 10, releasing two episodes over consecutive nights. Subsequently, the series drops two episodes weekly over consecutive nights on Fridays and Saturdays, and each episode is more fiery than the last. Without giving anything away, Episode 4 is a definite cliffhanger. Make sure you're watching the epilogues at the end of each episode, after the credits. The tags add a little something to the episode that enhances a particular scene or gives additional meaning to what is going on between the Grand Prince and Huiju.
Not only is the series romantic, but it's funny as well. KDramas usually have a great balance of the two. Byeon and IU have a palpable chemistry, but even though the two have not been linked romantically, they definitely have a playful nature between them. In Episode 3 of the series, the Grand Prince brings Huiju back to his private residence after she has been relentlessly harassed following the news of their relationship. With the unexpected guest in the residence and to keep up appearances, Huiju must spend the night with the prince in his quarters.

Prego Wants to Record Your Dinner Conversations — And People Have Thoughts
Prego has been in the pasta sauce game since 1981. This week, it introduced a dinner table recording device, and the internet is still trying to process that.
On Monday, April 20, The Campbell's Company announced that Prego had partnered with StoryCorps — the national nonprofit dedicated to recording and preserving the stories of everyday Americans — to create something called the Connection Keeper.
It's a small, hockey puck-shaped audio recording device designed to sit in the center of the dinner table and capture family conversations with the press of a single button. No screen, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no AI. Just two spatial audio microphones, a 16GB microSD card that holds up to eight hours of recording, and a USB-C cable for transferring files.
@abcnewsliveThe popular pasta sauce company Prego is joining the tech world by officially launching a device that sits on your table and records dinner conversations. ABC News’ Mike Dobuski explains the new collaboration with StoryCorps. #Prego #Technology #News #ABCNews
♬ original sound - ABC News Live - ABC News LiveThe device is part of a $20 limited-edition bundle that includes a jar of Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce, a box of spaghetti, conversation prompt cards, and a step-by-step guide. Only 100 bundles are being produced, and they go on sale April 27 at pregoconnectionkeeper.com. Starting May 4, families can upload recordings to a dedicated StoryCorps portal and, if they choose, archive them at the Library of Congress.
"Through our partnership with StoryCorps, we're inviting families to slow down, reconnect, and preserve the warmth, laughter, and real conversations that turn everyday meals into lasting memories," said Jaime Zagami, Prego's Director of Marketing, in a statement.
StoryCorps CEO Sandra Clark added, "We believe listening is a profound way to honor and connect with our loved ones — and that some of the most meaningful stories are shared in everyday moments, like around the table."
It took approximately zero seconds for the internet to have thoughts.
"April fools day was weeks ago you know," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"Imagine this is how you get caught for admitting to a crime," another joked.
"Mamma mia they're-a doing a surveillance state oh!" chimed in a third.
"Why on god's green earth would anyone want this?" someone else asked.
"It's just gonna capture me eating cold spaghetti and meatballs out of a frankly ruined tupperware, standing in the kitchen with a mild hangover at 0845 on a Saturday,” said another.
They would not approve! pic.twitter.com/Y4dzZIDmec
— bkmbooks (@bkmbooks) April 21, 2026Fast Company called it "one of the weirdest brand collaborations of 2026." Others raised privacy concerns, questioning whether a $20 device with no internet connection could truly guarantee recordings stay private. Prego has said the device does not collect data or connect to the cloud, and that families have full control over who accesses their recordings.
StoryCorps, for its part, has been doing this kind of work since 2003. The nonprofit has recorded over 720,000 people across all 50 states, and its archive at the Library of Congress is the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered. The Connection Keeper is its first consumer device partnership with a food brand.
Lorne Michaels: The Man Behind 'SNL' Takes Center Stage in New Documentary
The stars of Saturday Night Live have spent decades in the spotlight, but the man who built the late-night comedy sketch series into a cultural institution has always preferred to stay just out of frame.
Lorne Michaels is the subject of a new documentary, Lorne. The film offers fans a rare look at how SNL was built and the creative force that shaped it.
Lorne was created by Morgan Neville, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker of 20 Feet from Stardom and Won't You Be My Neighbor? He created a documentary that utilizes archival footage, exclusive footage, and interviews with some of SNL's most iconic cast members and writers including Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock and many others who got their start on the series.
In a trailer, Michaels gives an unprecedented look at his life, SNL's creation, and why he believes the show is still as relevant today as it was when it made its late-night debut in 1975.

"He has this mystique about him," said Kristen Wiig. "Everything about this guy is so weird and interesting," John Mullaney exclaimed.
However, the trailer doesn't really address who Michaels is, leaving that for viewers to realize upon seeing the documentary. Rather it shows the television legend in a series of personal and professional moments where he doesn't speak directly to the cameras.

"From the beginning and this, I don't mean to sound as earnest as it will, but I thought what we were doing was important," he revealed. "I don't think I could have done it without that belief."
"And it turns out, after fifty years, it was important. But the essential thing we do...just turns out it still matters," Michaels added. "That's the surprising thing."
Per Variety, Michaels executive produces Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night With Seth Meyers. He has also produced the feature films Wayne’s World, Mean Girls and The Three Amigos!
Lorne is currently in theaters.

1982 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 43 Years Ago Today
On April 23, 1983, a song that sounded unlike anything else on pop radio climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100—and, more than four decades later, it still gets entire rooms singing along within seconds.
The song was "Come On Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners, and its one-week run at No. 1 cemented it as one of the most recognizable hits of the 1980s. Despite the short run, it reached a major milestone with the exciting accomplishment.
The week ending April 23, 1983, saw “Come On Eileen” knock "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson out of the top spot on the Billboard chart after a seven-week run. The next week, Jackson was back on top with one of his other most well-known tracks, "Beat It." Considering the song's competition at the time, it was even more impressive that "Come On Eileen" held the spot at all.

"Come On Eileen" was released in the U.K. in 1982 as part of the band’s album Too-Rye-Ay, but it wasn't released in the United States until January of the next year. Frontman Kevin Rowland co-wrote the song with bandmates Jim Paterson and Billy Adams, crafting a track that felt both nostalgic and fresh.
Opening up about the band's music in an enlightening 2014 interview with The Guardian, Rowland said about the subject of the song, "For years I told everyone that Eileen was my childhood girlfriend. In fact she was composite, to make a point about Catholic repression."
In the U.S., "Come On Eileen" really gave Dexys Midnight Runners, an English band, the status of one-hit wonders. But at the same time, the band had quite a few popular songs that charted high in the U.K., with their first No. 1 hit in 1980 with the song "Geno."
Even though many international fans might only be familiar with "Come On Eileen," the song's impact on its own is monumental, and over 40 years after its release, it's still a timeless anthem.
