1991 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’
In 1991, Disney released what would become one of its most iconic films that would go on to redefine animated storytelling.
Beauty and the Beast has since been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, a testament to its enduring charm, artistry and emotional depth.
The film, based a French fairy tale called La Belle et la Bête written in 1740 by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, follows Belle, a young woman who finds herself in the enchanted castle of a cursed prince. As she gets to know the Beast, she begins to see beyond his frightening exterior, uncovering a story about love, transformation and acceptance. Blending romance, music and fantasy, the film quickly became a standout of Disney's animation renaissance.
Among its many memorable elements is the performance of Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts. Her warm, comforting voice brought a sense of heart to the film, most notably through her rendition of the title song, "Beauty and the Beast." The performance became one of the film's most iconic moments, adding emotional depth to a story already rich with feeling. Lansbury's delivery helped elevate the song into a timeless classic, reinforcing the film's central message about love and kindness.
"I remember the day we were in the recording studio with the amazing Broadway singers in the background chorus and the amazing [New York Philharmonic] orchestra, Paige O'Hard, who voiced Belle, said in 2016. "And then Ms. Lansbury — who I have admired my whole life — came in after being up all night [...] and was a trooper. We were all worried she would be too exhausted and then she comes out and sings 'Beauty and the Beast' in one take."
At a 25th anniversary celebration of the film, Lansbury surprised and delighted fans with a performance of the song. Her voice was as beautiful, warm and loving as ever.
Beauty and the Beast was both a critical and commercial success, famously becoming the first animated film ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Its music, animation and storytelling set a new standard for the genre. It also won other two Academy Awards, one for Best Original Song for "Beauty and the Beast," and another for Best Original Score.
More than three decades later, the film remains a cornerstone of Disney's legacy, beloved by audiences of all ages.
With its inclusion on Rotten Tomatoes' list, Beauty and the Beast stands as a timeless classic, a film that continues to captivate with its unforgettable characters, music and message.
'American Idol’s Kyndal Inskeep Opens Up About Her Toughest Night Yet — And How She’s Bouncing Back (Exclusive)
When the 2026 American Idol Platinum Tickets were awarded this season on the singing competition, it wasn’t judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie who issued them as in the past, but they were voted on by three categories of attendees: audience members, peers, and industry tastemakers, and Kyndal Inskeep won the latter.
Earning that Platinum Ticket made the 29-year-old singer/songwriter from Fishers, IN, one of this season’s frontrunners. And she really hasn’t disappointed since, except for a blip last week when she lost her voice.
She had had a mentoring session with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo as she tried to decide between two songs for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night: Janice Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” and The Police’s “Message in a Bottle.” Benatar wanted Kyndal to sing “Message in a Bottle,” but she opted for “Piece of My Heart” because the lyrics rang true to where she was at that moment in time.
“When I went into mentoring, the choices were very close,” Kyndal exclusively tells Parade. “It's hard not to look at comments, it's hard not to dive deep into what people are feeling about you and saying about you. I felt like I really needed to take it up a notch and I think a part of me strayed away from me being, I don't want to say authentic because ‘Piece of My Heart’ is authentic to me as well in a different way.”
Normally, there would have been no problem with the Joplin song, except that last Monday, Kyndal lost her voice and that song was the more challenging of the two. Halfway through it she glitched, causing the judges to comment on it, especially Carrie, who said, “You gave up on yourself towards the end,” before adding, “Your voice is amazing.”
“Hindsight is 20/20,” Kyndal admits. “I probably should have gone with ‘Message in a Bottle.’ I love that song. It's amazing. I love The Police. Sting is a huge influence in my life, and I decided to take it a step higher, so naturally my voice gives out the week of Janis Joplin.”
This week, the Top 9 will be performing songs from the Disney catalog, and when we spoke to Kyndal, she told us her voice was fine, and she was ready to go. She wasn’t allowed to tell us which song she chose, but why.
“The song this week just feels like this could be a song that I would have had in my own catalog, and I'm really grateful for the opportunity to sing it,” Kyndal says. “I have such a heart for it and I'm really excited to sing it.”
Check out more of our conversation with the American Idol Platinum Ticket holder below.

As one of the contestants who's been performing the longest, because you are 29, do you think that that gives you more confidence than maybe some of the younger ones? Does it help you when you do have problems like you did last week?
I think that regardless of age, this journey is very intense. And it continues to grow in intensity as we go because there's more of a chance that you would be in the finale, and so there's all these factors that come into play. I think being a seasoned artist, it definitely helps. I think in the in the beginning rounds, it was very much like “I'm very comfortable with what I do. I love this. This is my passion. This is what I've always wanted to do and let's have fun with it,” and so yeah, I don't think that there's necessarily a difference because of age, but I think with things like this, where I was the one that lost her voice and had that moment, I think that I do have the tools to step up to the plate and to hit it and do what I do.
This is the last year you were eligible for American Idol. Is that why you auditioned now? Why not when you were younger?
So, this opportunity has actually presented itself to me quite a few times, and there was always just like a knowing in my spirit of not yet, not yet, not yet. I got to do really cool things, like go on tour and write music and sing and all the things. This year, specifically, of course, age had to play into it because this would be the last year I could do it, but it was just the yes year of, “Let's go for it. Let's see what happens and have fun.”
Not only was it the "yes year," but there was another woman who auditioned, and she auditioned with one of your songs. How crazy was that?
Talk about divine timing. Her name is Lainey Grace. She's 16. I had no idea that that was going to happen at all and what a beautiful way to start off the season -- just so intimate for me, so affirming for me. It kind of just checked the box of “Yep this is exactly where you're supposed to be. Keep going,” so really cool.

As a singer-songwriter instead of just a singer, how hard is it to find cover songs that speak to you and then be able to perform them. Especially this week, coming up is Disney night, and those tend to be more pop songs?
Being completely candid, the themes have thrown me off a bit, because it's a challenge. There's been a selection of ‘90s songs, a selection of rock'n'roll songs, and a selection of Disney songs, and I think that it has stretched me in a way where I want to bring my artistry to everything that I sing. It is a challenge though. It is very much a challenge of “OK what is going to scream Kyndal,” but also, it's stretching me as an artist and a songwriter because I can now mold into these characters, if you will, and unlock parts of myself that I may not have unlocked yet.
Are the vocal coaches able to help you come up with arrangements that do work for your style?
Oh, my gosh! So, I work very closely with Justin and Felicia on the show, and they've just been amazing. They've just acknowledged my artistry so much, and so we'll sit down, and it's like a little mini writing session. We'll strip it back on the guitar. That's cool, that's cool, that's cool, and we just come up with really cool arrangements.
Disney/Eric McCandless
What has surprised you most about the competition that you had no idea going into it might happen?
That I'm this far is really cool. It's really, really awesome. I'm really grateful for that. I think that has thrown me for a loop for sure, of “OK, this is what happens when you…" Also, I promised myself that I would be 1000 percent myself throughout this whole thing, not put on a show. What you see on camera is who I am off camera and that vulnerability is scary sometimes because you're not going to be everybody's cup of tea. You just aren't, so just seeing the support and the encouragement, I feel like I'm finding my people, my little tribe, that's following along everywhere.
How much are you able to incorporate the judge's comments, and do you find them to be helpful?
Of course. I love the insight of the professionals that sit and watch us every week because they do this -- and they do this on a scale that I see myself doing this one day -- and they know what it's like.
Also, Carrie Underwood having already been on the show is amazing because I think there's this special bond that happens between contestants when you're on a show like this, because only you guys really know what really happens, what plays into the whole production of everything. I feel like the judges have definitely given me really great insight throughout the season, and I really cling to that.
Even last week, Carrie saying, “You know you gave up at the end,” and just the defeat all over my face, it struck me and it was hard to palate. But at the same time, I'm taking that piece of advice this week and no matter what happens, I'm going to do my thing. I think that was an insecurity thing. It was like, “Oh, my gosh, this is happening, and I just got in my head. I will face the crowd at this point. We're there.
Win or not, talk about what your plan to use the Idol platform for your career is. I'm sure you have music that you'd love to get out there.
This has just been such a preparation for me. I think that oftentimes you see the finish line and you're like, “I want to get there so badly,” but I've just been enjoying the journey, enjoying the ride. After this, I'm planning to go on the tours and release more music. I have quite a catalog that I've been sitting on for a while, so I'm excited to just grind it out, get it out and move forward with all of the tools that I've learned throughout this show.
Has your social media presence on the show grown a lot?
We have tripled DSP's like Spotify and iTunes because that was a gold mine from the very beginning. I want people to listen to the songs that I have out because I have quite a few songs out already. My monthly listeners have skyrocketed and people are listening to these songs that are pieces of my soul that I literally placed on these on these DSP's. So many more Instagram and TikTok, just all over the board.

1971 Classic Named No. 1 Hit Song Became a Timeless Anthem
In 1971, a simple country love song made its way to the top of the charts.
When Charley Pride released "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'," it quickly became more than just a No. 1 hit. With its charm and heartfelt lyrics, the song struck the hearts of listeners across country music and beyond. Over 50 years later, it still holds up as one of Pride's most recognizable tracks.
The song was originally released on Oct 23, 1971, for his 13th studio album, Charley Pride Sings Heart Songs. Co-written with Ben Peters and produced by Jack Clement, the song was inspired by Pride and his wife, who just welcomed their daughter Angela. Before leaving for work, his wife reminded him to kiss the baby, which is how the idea for a song was born.
About a friend who is asking the secret between a man and a woman's happy marriage, "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" became his eighth song to be crowned the top spot on the country charts, and spent four months and peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track won him a Grammy for Best Country Song, as well for Best Country Vocal Performance for the album, in 1973. In addition, Billboard ranked the track at the number 74 for the best songs of 1972, and in 2024, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

"Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" was also covered by multiple artists throughout the years, including George Jones, Conway Twitty, Gene Stuart, Roy Clark, Percy Sledge, Alan Jackson and Heather Myles. Pride loved the song and "couldn't wait to get into the studio" to record it, but he never anticipated it becoming a big hit.
"'Kiss An Angel' is a clear example of a record that was not recorded to be a crossover record, and all that sort of hocus-pocus, and it became a million-seller," Pride told Alanna Nash in Behind Closed Doors: Talking with The Legends of Country Music back in 2002. "And it's a typical example of where we are today, flailin' about who's country and who's middle-of-the-road."

Born in Mississippi, Pride started his career as a baseball player for the Negro American League in 1950s and early 1960s, before switching into a career in country music in the late 1960s. Signing with RCA Records, he released his debut album Country Charley Pride in 1966, ans since put out 44 albums, three lives albums, 36 compilations and three EPs. During the peak of his career, he had 52 songs reach Top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100 and multiple Grammy and Country Music Awards.
The country singer was active in his career until 2020, when he recieved the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th Country Music Awards. Unfortunately, he passed away a few months later in his home in Dallas in December 2020 after complications related to COVID-19. He was 86 years old.
"Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" and the rest of his discography can be streamed on all digital platforms.
Costco's 2-Pack of Ombre Towels Brings a Gradient Glow-Up to Your Bathroom
Let's talk bath towels for a minute here—they don't exactly come with an expiration date, so most of us hang onto them way longer than we probably should. But if yours are starting to feel more scratchy than soft or have that faint, "I washed it but is this actually clean?," it might be time to part ways.
Generally, you'll want to replace your bath towels every two to three years, depending on how often you use them and how well you care for them. Towels go through a lot—constant moisture, regular washing, and product buildup from body wash and laundry detergent can all wear down those fluffy fibers over time. Fortunately, there's a really pretty (and affordable) bath towel set at Costco right now to refresh your linen closet.
Loftex Ombre Bath Towel 2-Pack, $24.99 at CostcoCostco
I love a decorative towel moment, so the Loftex Ombre Bathe Towel 2-Pack at Costco totally appeals to me. It comes in four different colorways, all with that same gradient look: green (shown above), blue, gray and tan. They add a little something different to your bathroom than solids, stripes or florals, all while bringing a dash of color. Plus, a two-pack is just $24.99, breaking down to roughly $12.50 per towel, which is a pretty nice price for quality linens.
And they do seem really quality. For starters, the size (30 by 58 inches) is pretty standard for bath towels, so you're getting that classic coverage without it feeling skimpy. The fact that the set is 100 percent cotton is key—that usually means it'll be soft, breathable and absorbent, which is exactly what you want after a shower.

Now, here's a tiny detail I noticed that you might otherwise look past. A towel's GSM (grams per square meter) basically tells you how dense and plush a towel is. These are at 640, which means you're in that sweet spot of feeling thick and luxurious without being so heavy that it takes forever to dry. It's the kind of towel that feels a bit spa-like but is still practical for everyday use.
Costco's home finds are on fire right now in the best way. It has some really chic ceramic vases that will bring a bit of sophistication to your space. When you want to get cozy, there's a pretty (but lightweight) new throw blanket for your living room. And the minute you set your sights on this Mediterranean-inspired lazy Susan, you're going to want to plan a backyard dinner party. Just trust me on this.

Who Won ‘Jeopardy’ Today? (April 20, 2026) Plus, the Final Jeopardy Answer
There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.
Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.
Jamie Ding, who now possesses the fifth-longest winning streak for consecutive games in Jeopardy! history, took home his 27th consecutive game win, bringing his cumulative regular-game totals to $753,000.

Jamie DingJamieDing entered the game with 26 wins and $732,000 in total winnings, trailing only Jennings (74), Amy Schneider (40), Matt Amodio (38), and James Holzhauer (32) on the all-time consecutive wins on the Jeopardy! Leaderboard of Legends.
In fact, Jennings revealed he'd be "very excited" if Ding beat his 2004 record "that nobody's beaten for 20-odd years," underscoring that he remains "perfectly impartial every game," and adding, "I actually believe that my record can be beaten, and I just hope I am hosting when it happens."
Ding added $21,000 on Monday for a total of $753,000 27-day winnings.

The clue: "'Heidi" was set in Maienfeld, which is northeast from this 13,642-foot peak with a name that describes what Heidi is."
The answer: What is Jungfrau?
The clue proved to be a real stumper, with none of the contestants able to come up with the correct response. As usual, Ding built up a strong runway across the Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy rounds, giving him enough cushion to wager $3,000 on a Final Jeopardy response of “What is… the Eiger??” It was incorrect, yet he still walked away with $21,000 for the day.
Coughlin wagered everything with $1,800 and "What is Swiss," walking away with $0, while Phillips wagered nothing, incorrectly answering "What is Mont Blanc? :)" and leaving with $10,000.
Ding will attempt to extend his streak to 28 consecutive wins again on Tuesday.

Kendra Duggar Has 'Totally Sided' with Duggar Family After Arrests: 'She’s Brainwashed'
Kendra Duggar is reportedly standing behind the Duggar family following the arrest of her husband Joseph Duggar.
Joseph was first arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, on Mar. 18.
Two days later, Joseph and Kendra were hit with additional child endangerment charges—unrelated to Joseph’s initial case.
Kendra was released from jail shortly following her arrest after posting a $1,470 bond. Joseph, for his part, was released from custody in Florida after posting a $600,000 bond on Tuesday, Mar. 31.
On Wednesday, Apr. 15, Kendra's parents Paul and Christina Caldwell spoke out about the arrests for the first time via a statement posted to Instagram.
“Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law,” the statement said in part. “We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.”
"We also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength. Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains,” the Caldwells added.

Despite her parents offering support, an insider claims Kendra has sided with the Duggar family instead.
“I don’t know if it’s fear or naivete, but Kendra has totally sided with the Duggars and not her family,” a source told Us Weekly on Monday, Apr. 20. “She is brainwashed.”
According to the insider, “not many people are there to help” Kendra’s immediate family, including the Caldwells, and the Duggars have “not stepped up at all.”
“I can’t believe how [the Duggars] have treated [the Caldwells],” the source said. “They want them out. They had the lights and electricity cut off from the house they are in. It’s awful. They are trying to get out.”

In a jail call made to Joseph on Mar. 25, Kendra said that “my family said they’re moving out in a month and everybody is going to hold them to it.”
Kendra did not specify why her parents and younger siblings were moving out.

‘The Blind Side’ Star Quinton Aaron Breaks Silence on His Marriage After Suffering a Stroke
Quinton Aaron is opening up about the bombshell truth he learned after waking up from a coma after suffering a spinal stroke earlier this year. The Blind Sideactor reveals his thoughts after learning his wife was still married to her ex.
It was previously reported that the actor collapsed at his Atlanta home in January and was rushed to the hospital. He was later said to have fallen into a coma following a spinal stroke. Amid the medical crisis, reports also surfaced that his family requested his wife, Margarita DeLeon, not be granted access to his hospital room.
They had learned that DeLeon was still married to her ex and hadn't disclosed the information to Aaron. In an ABC News interview on Monday, the actor opened up about what he learned after coming out of a coma. Aaron reported that DeLeon had insisted during the entirety of their relationship that she was divorced. The two married in a Los Angeles chapel in 2024.
"She even told the person where we were getting married, ‘Oh yes, I have all the documents. I can email over to you the divorce decree,'" explained the actor.

Aaron then explained that his lawyer had uncovered evidence to prove DeLeon was still married while he was in a coma. The evidence found reported she was still married since 1992, with the actor admitting he never fact-checked her marital status. DeLeon commented in her defense, saying she never knew she was still married to her ex. Once his family had uncovered it, so did she.
“When I told Quinton back in the hospital bed, and I want to be very honest about this, I feel like this needs to be said and brought out there. I said to him, I said, ‘Bibi, this information that your family pulled up on me, you know, I wasn’t aware of it.’ I said, ‘This is what I found out. It is true,'" said DeLeon.
According to DeLeon's ex, who remains anonymous, he, too, had no idea they were still legally married. They both believed the divorce had gone through and been finalized. DeLeon's ex has officially filed for divorce, with no details on whether she and the actor are still together.
Since the stroke, Aaron revealed he has yet to regain his ability to walk, with doctors estimating it can take months or a year. The actor believes he'll be "walking a lot sooner than you think."
Marvel’s Highest-Grossing Movie of All Time Is Returning to Theaters in an Unexpected Way
During a presentation at CinemaCon on Thursday, Joe and Anthony Russo had an announcement that Marvel fans have been anticipating for over a year.
The Russo Brothers previously teased that Marvel’s highest-grossing film of all time, Avengers: Endgame, would be re-released in theaters ahead of Avengers: Doomsday. During the Walt Disney Studios CinemaCon presentation, they officially announced that the hit film would be re-released on Sept. 25, featuring brand-new footage.
Although it hasn’t been announced what this new footage will include, Joe Russo said on Saturday night at the Sands Film Festival that it’s important that Endgame gets re-released.
“It’s an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it,” Russo said. “You don’t always get the chance to re-release because it costs money, so the fact that we can enhance the story of Doomsday by bridging it to Endgame and these characters that we worked with for years that we love so much, and continue their story: It’s a really unique opportunity.”
Disney also announced that both Endgame and Doomsday would be released with Infinity Vision, “a new benchmark for theatrical presentation.”
Disney said Infinity Vision will include the largest screens for maximum scale, laser projection, and premium audio formats. They said that Infinity Vision-certified screens will ensure that fans can see the films “on the grandest possible scale, exactly as intended.”
“Disney’s standards for production quality are second to none, with every single detail of a film finely tuned for an immersive experience,” Andrew Cripps, head of theatrical distribution for The Walt Disney Studios, said. “Infinity Vision certification extends that commitment to the theaters themselves, representing a shared effort between The Walt Disney Studios and the exhibition community to help audiences quickly find the very best screens in their area to experience our films in exactly the way they’re designed to be seen – on a huge screen with the sharpest, clearest color and sound.”
When theaters become Infinity Vision-certified, fans will be able to see the branding both online and in theaters, “making it simple for consumers to find certified auditoriums when purchasing tickets,” Disney shared in a press release.
Doomsday will take place after the events of Endgame and will be released to theaters on Dec. 18. Marvel released the first teaser trailer for Doomsday at the end of 2025, revealing the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. Watch it here:
‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Star Todd Bridges Reflects on How the 'Little House on the Prairie’ Cast Treated Him
Todd Bridges may be best known for his role on the iconic TV series Diff'rent Strokes, but the actor is reflecting on the experience he had guest-starring on Little House on the Prairie.
Bridges, 60, rose to stardom as a child actor in the role of Willis alongside Gary Coleman and Dana Plato on Strokes, the beloved sitcom that followed two boys who were taken in by a wealthy man in New York City. But before he appeared on that show, he had an important role on a 1977 episode of Little House on the Prairie as Solomon Henry. "My favorite thing on Little House when I did 'The Wisdom of Solomon' was meeting the cast. I was very nervous. I didn't know what they were going to be like, and they ended up being very warm, very friendly, and it was like I was a part of their family, and I really enjoyed that," Bridges shared while attending a fan event. "That's Solomon Henry out."

1992 Film Was Just Ranked the 'Greatest Action Movie' of the Last 90 Years
Over the last nine decades, action films have been consistently popular among movie-goers. While not every action movie is a masterpiece, there are quite a few that can be considered high cinema. Collider recently released a list of the "10 greatest action movies" released after 1936. The ranking, published on April 20, featured hit action films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from 2000, 1988's Die Hard, 1954's Seven Samurai, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, released in 1991.
The 1992 John Woo film Hard Boiled secured the list's top spot. Collider reported that the film, which stars Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung Chiu-wai, is the greatest action movie since 1936 because of its impressive action sequences and unexpected comedic undertones.
Hard Boiled currently has a score of 92 on Rotten Tomatoes.
John Woo Said Chow Yun-Fat Was in Danger During Infamous Hospital Scene in 'Hard Boiled'Hard Boiled is known for its iconic and very violent hospital scene. In a January 2026 interview with GKIDS Films, Woo revealed that Yun-Fat, who played Inspector "Tequila" Yuen Ho-yan, was in genuine danger while filming the movie. He explained that he had "set up five bombs" around Yun-Fat while his character is "holding the baby and holding the gun" and "running towards the camera." Woo said he was disappointed when the bombs went off when Yun-Fat "almost ran out of the frame" during the first take.
"I said 'What the hell is that?' I said, 'There's no danger,'" recalled the director, now 79.
According to Woo, the special effects supervisor informed him that they were using real dynamite for the scene and "didn't want to kill" Yun-Fat. Woo said that he insisted on filming the scene again and told the special effects supervisor to start the explosions when he gave him the cue.
Woo said the cue was given "one second before [Yun-Fat] started to run."
"[Yun-Fat] didn't expect that and then he was so scared and then he threw the gun away, and kept running," said Woo in the January 2026 interview.
Woo said that while he was "so happy" about how the shot ended up looking, Yun-Fat was less than thrilled.
"He turned to the producer [and said], 'F--king John tried to kill me," said Woo, who worked with Yun-Fat in several films like 1986's A Better Tomorrow and its sequel, A Better Tomorrow II, per IMDb.

'Days of Our Lives’ Star Patrick Muldoon Seen With Former ’90s Girlfriend in Final Public Appearance Before His Death at 57
Beloved Days of Our Livesstar Patrick Muldoon’s sudden death at age 57 has rocked Hollywood.
The actor spent decades in the entertainment world and was best known for playing Austin Reed on the hit Peacock soap. After learning the sad news of his premature death, several of Muldoon’s former co-stars have paid tribute to him.
Muldoon didn’t hide from the public eye that gave him the career he loved. In fact, his last public appearance was for the 53rd Annual Saturn Awards on March 8 at the Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles. The awards show, hosted by Joel McHale, honors the best sci-fi, fantasy, and horror in film and television.
The soap star looked dapper in a blue suit as he walked the red carpet with a familiar face. Muldoon was photographed on the red carpet with his long-time friend and former flame, Denise Richards.
Richards stunned in a short, bright yellow off-the-shoulder dress, as the longtime friends posed and smiled at the camera.

(Photo by Michael Tullberg/Getty Images)Muldoon and Richards go way back, meeting at an acting class when she was just 19 years old. Later, they worked together on the 1997 film Starship Troopers and began dating, becoming a very popular Hollywood couple in the late ‘90s.
The relationship ended in 2000, but they remained close friends until his death. Richards revealed last year on an episode of her Bravo show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, that she paused her friendship with Muldoon when she was married to actor Charlie Sheen.
“I did not speak to Pat when I was married to Charlie. And it was hard, because I didn’t want to lose him as a friend. But toward the end of the marriage, I talked to him all the time about him,” Richards expressed.
Muldoon also appeared on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with Richards and his former Days of Our Lives co-star Lisa Rinna. The actor held his own with all the RHOBH ladies as he was bombarded with questions about hooking up with Rinna and dating Richards at the same time.
The beloved soap star died on Sunday, April 19, at age 57 from a heart attack.
Muldoon is survived by his parents, Deanna Muldoon and William Patrick Muldoon Sr., his long-time girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, his sister, Shana Zappa, brother-in-law, Ahmet Zappa, along with his niece, Halo Zappa, and nephew, Arrow Zappa.

The Reason Noah Wyle Left ‘ER’ After 11 Seasons
ER started with Noah Wyle playing Dr. John Carter, who was learning the ropes from veteran doctors. Wyle, 54, now plays Dr. Robby Robinavitch, who runs the emergency room staff on The Pitt. The actor left ER, and the show continued for four more seasons. Here is why he left the first medical show.

Dr. John Carter left the hospital to be with his girlfriend, Kem (Thandie Newton). The actor moved on to movies like Below the Beltway and Snake & Mongoose after his exit. But Wyle didn't say a movie career was the reason for the change.

"I've got a son, I've got family and friends that said goodbye to me 12 years ago and are wondering when I'm coming back, and this little urge to scratch a different kind of itch in my career, and it's just coming to the end of the character's run," Wyle told E! News.
Wyle married Tracy in 2000 and had a son, Owen, and daughter, Auden. They divorced in 2010. He married Sara Wyle in 2014 after meeting in 2010. They share a child named Frances.
Sara, 46, appeared in Nip/Tuck, Californication, and Leverage: Redemption. She appeared in The Pitt Season 2 as a patient named Ashley Davis. Ashley came to the hospital with an inflamed liver and a yellow tint to her skin and eyes in episode 13.
The Pitt Season 2 ended with Dr. Robby's last day before his break from work. He planned to take a long ride on his motorcycle. Some wondered if it would be his last season, but Wyle will return for season 3.

Country Star Breaks Silence on Traumatic Injury, Announces Rescheduled Tour Dates
Billy Strings is speaking out about the major injury he suffered on April 18 off-stage that forced him to cancel his encore at his show at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va.
As a result of the injury, Strings revealed in an Instagram post on April 20 that he’s been forced to reschedule the four remaining April dates on his tour to August.
“Well, can’t say y’all didn’t warn me about screwing around on my skateboard!! Saturday night I walked off stage right before the encore I was all zazzed up from a really fun show. I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I’ve done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd!! Sounded like a damn 2x4,” Strings wrote in the caption of the post that features a carousel of photos related to the injury.
In the first photo, Strings is seen in a hospital bed giving a thumb’s down sign. The carousel also includes five x-rays, showing his broken leg along with x-rays of the screws and bracket doctors inserted into his leg to mend the broken bone. The post also includes a photo of Strings in a hospital bed with a cast up to the knee on his left leg.
“It’s been an interesting couple days to say the least complete with the most extreme pain and crazy ketamine trips and operations stuff but the staff here at UVA rules. They screwed me all back together. They are absolute angels on Earth,” Strings added in his post.

The guitar virtuoso also revealed that initially he wanted to continue the tour, even if it meant performing seated, as Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl did in 2015 after he broke his leg falling off the stage in Gothenburg, Sweden.
“I had every intention of carrying on with the tour and Dave Grohling it. He even texted me and offered me the throne! I really don’t want to let anybody down, but after some long talks with these doctors, my friends, band and colleagues, my wife etc.. I should probably let this thing heal. I don’t believe that I could give you guys the show you deserve coming right out of this surgery and these first few days are really important as far as keeping this thing elevated and letting it heal. Plus I’m all messed up on pain killers and stuff,” Strings added.
Strings ended the post by taking full responsibility for the accident along with posting the rescheduled dates for the remaining shows on his tour.
“It’s a dumb ass mistake and it’s all my fault .. I feel like such an idiot. But what are ya gonna do , ya know? At least I didn’t hit my head or break my wrist or something,” he wrote.
Strings’ April 22 show in Charleston, W.V. has been rescheduled for Aug. 4, while his April 24-26 shows in Fishers, Ind. are now set for Aug. 6-8.

Noah Kahan Challenges Men's Mental Health Stigmas, Revealing His Battle With Body Dysmorphia in New Netflix Doc
As evidenced in his new Netflix documentary, Noah Kahan: Out of Body, Noah Kahan is one of the most emotionally resonant voices in the modern indie-folk scene, known for turning deeply personal struggles into music that feels both intimate and universally relatable. Through valiant vulnerability, he has become both an accredited artist and an advocate, challenging long-standing stigmas around men's mental health, even when it's challenging for himself.
Rising from a quiet corner of Vermont with a sound rooted in deep-seated storytelling and emotionally layered lyricism, Kahan has built a following through songs that explore hometown nostalgia, evolving identity, and the nuances of navigating mental health.
His lyrics don't just describe his own life experiences; they contextualize them, offering listeners language for feelings they may not yet understand themselves. And that emotional clarity has made many fans feel seen for the first time.
In his debut documentary, Kahan speaks candidly about his battle with body dysmorphia, disordered eating, and depression—leveraging his platform to normalize what too many men have been socialized to silence. He reveals the raw reality of looking in the mirror and seeing someone no one else sees.
"I've always just really hated the way I looked," he admits in the documentary. "It hasn't been something I've really spoken about much [but] it's something I've struggled with my whole life... When I look in the mirror, I feel like I don't see what my body actually looks like."
He gets candid about his 15-year journey with the cycle of stress-induced binge-eating, self-hate, and self-inflicted starvation, adding that it's been difficult to talk about. Instead, he has long joked about it all because other people in both his private life and the public sphere have made comments, often in jest, about his hygiene and appearance, even calling him "ugly." But playing along is a common masking mechanism for people who are secretly struggling.
"Sometimes I don't want to be the joke," he tearily says. "And I have done myself a disservice by not opening up about it."
Now, Kahan is changing the narrative.
Noah Kahan's story strikes a chord with all too many menKahan doesn't just sing about his struggles. He has raised millions in support of those who are, too, dealing with depression.
In 2023, Kahan founded the Busyhead Project, a non-profit mental health organization named after his 2019 debut album that seeks to "end the stigma around mental health and improve access to resources." Since its onset, the Busyhead Project has raised over $6.6 million to support 170 community-based organizations worldwide.
"I've been given so many wonderful opportunities in my career, and it really is all for nothing if I don't try and give back to the community that has supported me," he has said of his initiative. "If I can help anyone get through their struggles, it will be the proudest achievement of my career."
There are certainly plenty of people to help—particularly men who, like Kahan, have too long suffered in silence. Nearly one in 10 men experiences depression or anxiety, but less than half of them receive the help they need to navigate it, according to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA). That leaves men almost four times more likely than women to die by suicide, which claims more than 727,000 lives each year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
In the U.S., in particular, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death overall and the second leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 10 and 34, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH), which reports that 49,300 Americans succumbed to suicidal thoughts in 2023. That's one death every 11 minutes, according to the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC). White males alone accounted for 68.13 percent of them, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
A significant source of the depression that too often leads to death? Eating disorders.
The ADAA reports that about 10 percent of patients with anorexia or bulimia are men, but they are less likely to seek professional help for eating disorders due to a complex combination of cultural pressures, social stigmas, and societal expectations.
Related: Noah Kahan Announces Brand New Album, 'The Great Divide'
The singer-songwriter's Netflix launch is a leap in the right directionKahan's new Netflix documentary sheds a brighter light on his work as both an artist and an advocate. It also humanizes him.
Viewers finally see Kahan—not only an indie-folk phenomenon who plays sold-out shows at stadiums full of fans who know (and sob to) every word. The singer-songwriter who has built a career on helping others feel seen finally gets to feel seen himself.
He is seen as a son of split-up parents with whom he has deeply loving yet relatably multifaceted relationships. A brother to three siblings—successful in their own paths. A lifelong friend to the people he grew up alongside. A fiancé to the woman he had known for a decade before dating. And a human being who shares the same struggles with self-image as all too many of us.
"A lot of days, I wondered if I'd ever like the way I looked," he admits in the documentary. "I think people think that, because I'm able to describe something painful, that I'm able to get through something painful. They hear something real, and they think that, because you know how to say what's real, you know how to solve that pain. And I don't. I never have. I can't solve it myself. I can't imagine trying to solve it for the hundreds of thousands of people who listen to my music or go to my shows."
While Kahan may not be single-handedly solving the world's problems (because, who can?), he is indeed making an immense impact by giving people the safe space and confidence to communicate about their own mental health issues.
"I think with body dysmorphia… or whatever I have, I'm not curing it, but I'm definitely walking near it and poking it with a stick and saying, 'What are you?' and telling it to come out of the dark and show itself," he says while looking in the mirror. "Feels nice. It feels like progress, which is cool."
That progress—made public—is paving a path for men everywhere to walk alongside him.
"There is no happy ending ... or one event in your life that fixes everything," he says he has learned throughout his rise to stardom. "It's waking up every day and trying."
It's clear that Kahan's life-changing lyrics, powerful advocacy, and profound honesty have his fans feeling inspired to wake up each day and try, too.

Patrick Muldoon, best known for his role on Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 57 following a reported heart attack, according to Deadline. Following the news, his former co-star Christie Clark shared a tribute on social media to the late actor.
Clark returned to Days of Our Lives in 1992 following a year-long absence, during which the role of Carrie Brady was played by Tracy Middendorf. Nancy Guthrie Update: Petition Launched for Private Investigative Group to Join Search
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing after she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home on Feb. 1—and a petition was recently launched for a private investigative group, the United Cajun Navy, to join the Pima County Sheriff's department in the search.
On Monday, April 20, Fox News Digital reported that an independent journalist, Cherise "Pebbles" Wilson, started a Change.org petition calling for Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos to approve the United Cajun Navy's (UCN) 41-page plan.
"I lost my vulnerable grandmother a couple of years ago, and Nancy Guthrie's disappearance pulled at my heartstrings," Wilson told Fox. "Knowing that somebody took advantage of a loving lady, an elderly lady like that, is really disturbing."
As of writing, Wilson's petition to Nanos has more than 620 signatures.
Days after Nancy went missing in February, the UNC submitted its plan to the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD). In the proposal, the volunteer search-and-rescue group said it would operate under the sheriff's command and have no independent authority.

"We want permission from the lead agency," Josh Gill, an incident commander at UCN, told Fox. "I don't think there would be any harm, I think it would be one step closer to providing some closure not just to the family or the community, but to the nation."
However, Gill said the PCSD has not contacted the UCN about the plan that it provided. "I'm open to developing a new plan with law enforcement," he said.
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on the evening of Jan. 31. The PCSD launched its search on Feb. 1, with the FBI joining soon afterward. Despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward, no suspect has been named in the case.
