11 April Aldi Finds That Are Guaranteed To Fly Off Shelves Fast

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 5:06am

While the official first day of spring was March 20, April seems to signify the change in seasons a little more. Maybe it's because of Easter, or most school spring break vacations, or simply because daylight sticks around after supper is over, but whatever the reason, the new month's arrival means we are one step closer to warm sunny days, flowers blooming, green grass that needs mowing and, for foodies, a brand new crop of Aldi Finds.

Springtime at Aldi is always a delicious time with plenty of inspiration for your Easter dinner, the first outdoor cookout of the year, Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo and more. They do a great job of making sure we are looking ahead on the calendar and stocking up on anything we don't want to miss.

April's Aldi Finds have a lot to love, but the ones we can't stop thinking about are uniquely different—a few of them are giving us reasons to look forward to May 5; a couple are celebrations of Aldi's German heritage and there is even one that will have our gluten-free friends rejoicing.

Grab your shopping list, make note of each release date and be ready to fall in love with the 11 best April Aldi Finds as quickly as we did!

Where Are Aldi Finds Located in My Store?

You have your wish list, your quarter and shopping bags. You are on an Aldi Finds mission. So, where do you go once inside the store? Start by looking up—see that giant red "Aldi Finds" sign? It should be hanging above the center aisles, and this is exactly where you want to be.

For the most part, every monthly Aldi Find is located in these aisles, top to bottom, on every shelf. The only exceptions to this rule are items that need refrigeration or freezing. Those will be in the cases waiting on you, usually with a red price tag to grab shoppers' attention.

1974 Hit Ranked Among ‘Top Classic Rock Songs’ of All Time Became a Timeless Road Trip Anthem

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 4:22am

In 1974, Golden Earring had their first international hit with “Radar Love.” The Dutch rock band’s song, about a guy hitting the road at high speed to see his lover, was a single from the 1973 album Moontan. “Radar Love” hit the Top 10 in multiple countries and peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 27, 1974, remaining on the chart for 20 total weeks.

In 2025, Ultimate Classic Rock ranked “Radar Love” as one of the top classic rock songs of all time. “Built around an insistent rhythm and riff, the song rides alongside its protagonist, who has been ‘driving all night, hands wet on the wheel’ while listening to Brenda Lee's ‘Comin' On Strong,’” the outlet wrote of the radio hit.

In addition, Rolling Stoneranked “Radar Love” as one of the best road-trip songs of all time, noting its “excellent drum fills, and a chugging bassline that makes the kilometers fly by.”

A long-overdue hit

Written by George Kooymans and Barry Hay, “Radar Love” was a long-overdue hit for Golden Earring, eight albums in.

Hay recalled the writing process in an interview with American Songwriter, where he revealed that Kooymans came up with the melody and the rest of the instrumental was manifested “spur of the moment” in the studio.

“At first, the opening line was ‘I’m sitting in a bathtub.’ And I thought, ‘That’s hardly masculine,’” Hay recalled. “Then I came up with sitting in a car. It took me about three hours to write the lyrics, which is pretty swift. I remember our tour manager coming back from the night out, this was like five in the morning or something. And he read the lyrics and he said, ‘These are the probably the best lyrics you ever wrote and you will ever write.’“

“It wrote itself in a way,” he added. “I was listening to the music on the side, and the story just took wings.”

While it became a classic driving song, Hay did confirm that the narrator of “Radar Love” dies en route to see his love and that their cosmic connection continues in an afterlife.

Decades after writing “Radar Love,” Hay said fans everywhere had the same reaction to its “recognizable riff.” “And then it starts steaming, and everybody goes with it, because it’s basically a boogie song,” he said. “Everybody sort of levitates. They leave the ground a couple centimeters.”

‘Radar Love’ saved Golden Earring

Before the success of “Radar Love,” the Golden Earring bandmates considered breaking up. In an interview posted by Music Tried and True, Hay admitted the band was in a weird place at the time they wrote their road trip hit.

“We didn’t know what we were doing then,” he shared. “We were thinking about breaking up the band, and the shows weren’t going that well in Holland, and we thought, ‘Let’s just make one album and see what happens, if it’s good we’ll stick together and if it bombs we’ll split up and start doing different things.’ So anyway the rest is history.”

1962 Classic Made History When It Hit No. 1 64 Years Ago Today

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 3:16am

A 1962 classic hit made chart history 64 years ago today, when Connie Francis scored her third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Don't Break the Heart That Loves You.”

The song reached the top spot on the chart dated March 31, 1962, marking a major milestone in Francis’ career. With the achievement, she became the first woman to earn three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100—a remarkable feat during an era dominated by male artists and groups.

Related: 1957 Buddy Knox Hit Made Rock History With a No. 1 69 Years Ago Today

Written by Benny Davis and Murray Mencher (under the name Ted Murry), the emotional ballad showcased Francis’ signature blend of vulnerability and control. Built around a pleading lyric and a gentle, easy-listening arrangement, the track connected strongly with audiences and also topped the Easy Listening chart.

Francis recorded the song in late 1961 during a prolific session that produced several other tracks, but this one stood out immediately. Its spoken-word bridge and soft harmonies gave it a distinctive texture, helping it rise above the crowded early-’60s pop landscape.

Related: 26 Years Ago Today, Buddy Holly’s Long-Lost Glasses Were Found 21 Years After Deadly Plane Crash

At the time, Francis was already one of the biggest stars in music. Between 1958 and 1964, she was the most popular female vocalist in the United States, scoring dozens of hits and selling millions of records worldwide. Her ability to record in multiple languages only expanded her global reach.

Music historian Fred Bronson notes in "The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits" just how dominant she was during this era, writing that “Don't Break the Heart That Loves You” became her third chart-topper while she was in the middle of an extraordinary run of success that also included starring in the films Where the Boys Are, Follow the Boys, Looking For Love and When the Boys Meet the Girls.

Related: Classic Rock Band Announces Final Tour After 54 Years

In fact, over the course of her career, she had over 50 U.S. chart singles, which is more hits than any other female vocalist except Aretha Franklin, according to "The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll."

“Don't Break the Heart That Loves You" would ultimately be her final No. 1 hit, closing out a historic chapter that helped define early 1960s pop before the British Invasion reshaped the charts.

Still, more than six decades later, the track remains a shining example of Francis’ emotional delivery and chart-topping power—proof that sometimes the softest songs leave the strongest imprint.

Experts Share Which Seat on a Plane Is the ‘Safest’ To Be in During Crash

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 1:46am

While many people think about things like aisle seats vs. window seats, and whether or not you'll be in an emergency exit row, when choosing your seat on a plane, there may be something else folks should be considering.

That's because one expert says that there's a spot where passengers have slightly higher odds of surviving a plane crash. But, it's so much more than where you're physically positioned on the plane, according to the pros. Things like how you behave during and after have an impact and what you're wearing can make a difference as well.

An Aviation Pro Says Sitting In the Back of the Plane Is Safer

An former airline pilot and commercial aviation expert with the University of Nevada talked to Fox News about the best seat in the house, when it comes to airline safety, naming the back of the plane as one of the safest during an impact.

“This is because the front and middle parts absorb most of the impact if it is a head-on collision, as was the case of the Jazz Air crash at LGA," Daniel Bubb explained while referencing the recent accident at LaGuardia Airport.

Sadly, in the example referenced by Bubb, there were multiple injuries and two pilots were killed. However, many of the passengers towards the back of the plane were spared. And, while Bubb told the publication that there really are no guaranteed safe spots on a plane, those riding in the rear could have the best chance in an accident.

Related: Officials Uncover One of the Systems Failures That Led to the LaGuardia Crash and Identify Heroic Pilots Killed

The Exit Row Is Best In an Evacuation

It should come as no surprise that those seated in an exit row will also have the best chance at survival in an evacuation, since they will be the first ones off the plane. that being said, OAL Travel Network notes that there are some downsides, including having to do some heavy lifting to get the doors open in the first place.

Not only that, but some seated in the exit row may feel a responsibility to help others safely exit in an emergency, either by staying on the plane and directing folks to the exit (which is not recommended) or by waiting next to the plane to help people get to safety after they deboard.

Your Clothing Matters In a Plane Emergency

If the U.S. government had its way, we'll all be wearing suits and dresses the next time we board a flight. However, when Motley Rice aviation attorney Jim Brauchle spoke with Fox News about the proper flight attire, he said that comfort is king. "People should wear comfortable footwear when flying, preferably closed toe—and high heels are not conducive to an emergency evacuation."

According to PBS News, most of us will never need to worry about any of this. According to them, the yearly risk of being killed in a plane crash is only around 1 in 11 million for the average American. To put that into perspective, the publication says that 1 in 5,000 Americans are at risk of being killed in a car each year.

That being said, I know I will feel a little bit better the next time I board a plane if I know that I'm seated in one of those spots that appear to have a better survival rate while also wearing the right clothes. Afterall, while chances are small, they are never zero, so this just gives worried passengers a little extra boost of confidence.

Former Media Exec Austin Furst's Cause of Death Revealed

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 1:26am

Austin Owen Furst Jr., a pioneering entertainment executive who helped shape the home video industry, died on March 25, 2026, at his home in New Canaan, Connecticut. He was 82.

Furst’s family confirmed that the cause of death was complications from heart failure, with loved ones by his side during his final moments, per Legacy.

Furst is best known as the founder of Vestron Video, a company that played a key role in bringing movies into homes during the VHS era. His passing marks the loss of a major figure in entertainment history whose work helped change how audiences watch films.

According to his family, Furst “passed away peacefully… surrounded by his family, following complications of heart failure.”

The longtime executive had remained active in business until just days before his death, continuing to oversee his real estate company from his office in New Canaan.

Born on August 31, 1943, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Furst built a life defined by creativity, curiosity and entrepreneurship. He spent decades balancing a successful career with a close-knit family life, sharing 60 years of marriage with his wife, Leslie Fitler Furst.

His death has prompted tributes that highlight not just his business success but also his warmth as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, eight grandchildren and his brother.

Furst’s biggest impact came through Vestron Video, the company he founded in 1981 after Time Inc. exited the movie business. At a time when home video was still new, he saw an opportunity where others did not. Starting with a small team, he built Vestron into a global force in the VHS and Betamax era.

The company distributed the groundbreaking Making Michael Jackson’s Thriller documentary in 1983 and later produced the hit film Dirty Dancing in 1987, according to Deadline. Both projects became cultural landmarks and helped prove that home video could be a powerful part of the entertainment industry.

Before launching Vestron, Furst worked at Procter & Gamble in brand management and later spent 13 years at Time Inc. There, he helped launch People magazine as Circulation Director and played a key role in growing HBO’s early subscriber base as Executive Vice President of Programming.

Outside of work, Furst was also remembered for his sense of humor and adventurous spirit, from organizing boat rides to cooking family meals. Friends and family say he brought joy and energy into every room he entered.

In honor of his life, his family has invited donations to New Canaan EMS and the Chocorua Island Chapel in New Hampshire, places that held special meaning to him.

Popular Breakfast Chain Einstein Bros. Bagels Issues Recall for 'Life-Threatening' Production Error

Tue, 03/31/2026 - 12:05am

A national bagel chain has issued a recall for a popular flavor of its beloved cream cheese spreads after a major production error that could cause "life-threatening" reactions was discovered.

144 cases of Einstein Bros. Bagels cream cheeses were incorrectly labeled as "Plain" when the containers actually contain the brand's "Honey Almond" flavor, which could put those with almond sensitivities at risk for a severe allergic reaction if consumed.

Affected products were packaged in six-ounce cups and sold at locations in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming, with a "Best If Used By" date of July 21, 2026. No illnesses or adverse reactions had been reported at the time of the recall, which was initiated after shipments of the Schreiber Foods, Inc.-owned brand's products were discovered to have contradictory lids and cups, with the Honey Almond cream cheese stored in a Plain-labeled cup with a Honey Almond lid. According to the FDA, an investigation confirmed that it was a "limited packaging...issue" that has since been corrected, and no other products were involved.

Why Is This Error 'Life-Threatening?'

If a customer with an allergy to almonds consumes the mislabeled cream cheese, it could lead to a mild reaction, like GI upset, or an anaphylactic reaction, depending on the severity of their sensitivity. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that can quickly become deadly if not treated quickly.

What Should You Do If You Have a Recalled Tub of Cream Cheese?

Customers who purchased impacted products are encouraged to return them to the store for a full refund.

Iconic ’80s Metal Band Earns Praise for Hawaii Move

Mon, 03/30/2026 - 11:55pm

Metallica’s The All Within My Hands foundation (AWMH) has actively supported Hawaii, including a $125,000 grant for 2026 flood relief through local organizations.

Metallica leveraged their legendary status for a good cause, earning widespread praise and admiration from fans worldwide.

The ’80s rock band has long been celebrated for their timeless hits, their lasting contribution to music, and their influence on generations of fans, but this time they are recognized for their generosity and kind hearts.

Amid the devastating flooding that recently struck Oahu and Maui, described by the media as the worst flooding in Hawaii in over 20 years, the award-winning band stepped up to provide much-needed support.

In an Instagram update, Metallica’s non-profit organization, All Within My Hands (AWMH) donated $125,000 through local organizations.

“All Within My Hands is granting $125,000 to flood relief efforts in Hawaii through three local organizations: the @hawaiiancouncil, the @lahuifoundation, and @huioheenalunorthshore. Hawaii is facing the worst flooding it’s seen in more than two decades, leaving the islands suffering an estimated US$1B in damage statewide. The torrential rains, saturated soil, and surging rivers have ravaged hundreds of homes and farms across the island. While the heaviest rains have passed, flash floods remain possible in the coming days,” the caption reads.

In addition, the 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee also teamed up with Jason Momoa’s foundation Pride of Gypsies, along with “many other organizations and individuals working to provide critical relief and recovery assistance to the islands.”

This bold and meaningful action stole the hearts of Hawaiians and fans worldwide.

The comment section was filled with messages from fans expressing gratitude for the band’s support.

“Mahalo @metallica,” one wrote.

“Mahalo! Metallica’s the best,” a commenter said.

“Thank you!!!” a follower echoed.

The same goes for another who said “Mahalo Nui Kākou!!” which means "Thank you very much."

“Thank you, @metallica, for this. We love you. Sincerely @andhawaiiforall,” a commenter added.

Together with their management, the iconic band established its non-profit organization in 2017. AWMH focuses on building better communities by creating sustainable livelihoods, supporting workforce education, combating hunger and funding critical local services.

During the 2023 Maui wildfire, Metallica has donated $200,000 to the Hawai'i Community Foundation.  This generous move to the people in Hawaii was rooted in their philanthropy and personal connections. In addition, guitarist Kirk Hammett has a property in Hawaii where he usually spends time surfing.

1984 Pop-Rock Classic, Named One of the Top '80s Movie Soundtrack Songs, Hit No. 1 Exactly 42 Years Ago

Mon, 03/30/2026 - 11:47pm

On this day in 1984, Kenny Loggins made both movie andmusic history.

Exactly 42 years ago on March 31, 1984, Loggins' hit pop-rock track "Footloose," written for the iconic movie of the same name, soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it remained for three straight weeks.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

A defining song of the '80s, "Footloose" served as the backdrop for two of Kevin Bacon's legendary dance scenes in the movie and quickly reached mainstream success. Co-written by Loggins and Dean Pitchford, the catchy tune would go on to be named one of the top songs of that year. It was ranked No. 4 on Billboard's 1984 year-end chart, and in 1990, it was certified Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA, signifying over one million copies sold.

Not only did the song become a massive success on the music charts, but it also garnered major critical acclaim, earning nominations for Best Original Song at both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes in 1985. (Both awards that year went to Stevie Wonder for "I Just Called to Say I Love You" from The Woman in Red.)

"Footloose" was ranked by the Retro Network at #5 on their list of Top 50 '80s Movie Soundtrack Songs, and it was also included on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 Top Movie Songs of All Time, coming it at #96.

The song has since surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, making Loggins an official member of the platform's Billions Club in November 2025.

"Footloose" is Loggins' only song to reach the No. 1 spot, though his hit song "Danger Zone," from the blockbuster film Top Gun, came close when it peaked at No. 2 in July 1986.

Loggins, often nicknamed the "King of the Movie Soundtrack," is renowned for several other hit movie songs, like "I'm Alright" from 1980's Caddyshack and "Meet Me Half Way"from 1987's Over the Top, among many others.
