Michelle Pfeiffer’s Tired ‘Having a Day’ Selfie Is the Most Relatable Celebrity Post of the Day

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 4:21pm

Michelle Pfeiffer may be "having a day," but we think the star of The Madison still looks pretty great.

The beloved actress, 67, whose first starring film role was in Grease 2, rose to fame in legendary films like Scarface and Dangerous Liaisons. She later became a household name as Catwoman in Batman Returns. In recent years, she’s earned tremendous acclaim as First Lady Betty Ford in The First Lady, and recently starred in the Amazon Prime Video Christmas movieOh. What. Fun. But it's her groundbreaking role in the new Paramount+ series, The Madison, that's earning Pfeiffer rave reviews. But despite her star status, Pfeiffer made it clear she still has a rough day like the rest of us. The blonde beauty took to Instagram on Friday to share a harried photo of herself along with an extremely relatable caption.

"Having a DAY🙄," Pfeiffer captioned the shot, which showed her in the backseat of a car, with her blonde hair tousled.

Pfeiffer Loves a Car Selfie

Luckily, they aren't all rough days for Pfeiffer. Back in January, she shared another car selfie where she was feeling a bit better.

“Back in the saddle. Happy Thursday, everyone!” the legendary star captioned a selfie, taken from the backseat. With her blond hair swept up into a soft bun, Pfeiffer sported gold hoops and low-key makeup for the occasion. Now that's cascading through your sixties with ease!

View this post on Instagram What Has Pfeiffer Said About Aging in Hollywood?

In a recent interview, Pfeiffer opened up about aging in Hollywood and facing a period when the coveted acting roles weren’t available. However, she said she ultimately pushed through and found herself in an even better place.

“For me, I hit a point when it was hard, and then I got over that hump and it was incredibly liberating,” Pfeiffer told Elle Canada recently. “Especially in my work, where sometimes you go from leading lady to grandmother, there’s this sort of no man’s land where you just feel irrelevant. But then you slog through that, and you can end up in a new place. I’m actually really excited about the roles that I’m getting now.”

What’s The Madison About?

Following three other Yellowstone spinoff shows, 1883, 1923, and Marshals,The Madison hit Paramount+ on March 14 and almost instantly earned Pfeiffer rave reviews. The Taylor Sheridan series follows a New York family who settle in the Madison River valley of central Montana. Kurt Russell stars alongside Pfeiffer in a cast that includes Matthew FoxPatrick J. Adams, and Elle Chapman.

What's Next for Michelle Pfeiffer?

With The Madison out, Pfeiffer is doing press for her next project, the highly-anticipated TV adaptation of Rufi Thorpe‘s best-selling novel, Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Premiering on Apple TV on April 15, Pfeiffer plays the flighty mother of Margo (Elle Fanning), a college student who finds herself pregnant and facing financial issues as a single mother.

There is something magical and calming about heading back to the past. Even when we’re taking into worlds where certain people didn’t have any rights, we know how most of the stories go, and we love to see how the characters handle the situations. It’s what makes historical fiction one of the most popular genres still today.

Goodreads knows, and it’s scoured the “Want to Read” shelves of users to find out which of the novels people are most interested in. If you’re looking for something new to read to take you to the past, here are the three most highly anticipated historical fiction books releasing in April 2026.

‘Last Night in Brooklyn’ by Xóchitl González

‘The Mountains We Call Home: The Book Women’s Legacy’ by Kim Michele Richardson

While The Mountains We Call Home: The Book Women’s Legacy by Kim Michele Richardson is the third in The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek series, it is designed to be a standalone book. The series is more of a collection of stories that can be read in any order you want, so feel free to start with this one.

In this story, we pick back up with Cussy Lovett, who finds herself incarcerated, all because of the man she loves. She and Jackson break the law by marrying, purely due to the color of their skin, and we follow Cussy’s time in prison. It’s a scary setting, and one that will make a lot of people uncomfortable reading, but it’s an important one.

Richardson does her research when it comes to the realities of the past. While there’s a harrowing story of racism, there’s also the story of resilience and defiance, bringing an uplifting feeling by the end.

The Mountains We Call Home will be released on April 21, 2026.

The model and dietician, who has hit the cover of endless magazines over the years, loves to make it clear that age is just a number. Sporting chic white hair, black leather pants, and oversized boots with jewel-encrusted buckles, the beauty hit the red carpet at a screening of "Fantasy Life" in New York at the famed Angelika Film Center this week. Was Maye Musk on the Cover of Sports Illustrated?

Yes! Back in 2022, Musk hit the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition. Wearing an orange and tan one-piece bathing suit from Maygel Coronel, the model glowed in the special issue. She was joined byKim Kardashian, Ciara, and Yumi Nu to round out the 2022 issue.

"My first reaction was, I could never dream up something like that because why would anyone have a 74-year-old on their cover, especially in a swimsuit," Musk told PEOPLE of her covergirl moment on the iconic magazine. "I do think it's going to make women feel more comfortable in their seventies when they swim, as well as women in their twenties and thirties."

In her 2019 memoir, A Woman Makes a Plan: Advice for a Lifetime of Adventure, Beauty, and Success, Musk opened up about how women shouldn't have to tolerate the negativity around aging.

"I went through different stages of my life where I was rejected, insulted, disappointed, and it just takes away your confidence," Musk told PEOPLE. "Then you just have to get over it. So here, I'm 74, I'm the happiest I've ever been, and I don't care, and nobody's insulting me because — you don't want to insult a grandmother. The point is, people are really good to me at this stage, but why should it take so long?"

According to Kendra’s conditional release form from the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Ark. obtained by Us Weekly, a judge required Kendra to sign an agreement that she would “have no contact” with any of her “unnamed victims" before she left jail.

The district attorney specified that the 27-year-old is not reach out them “by telephone (including text), in person, by computer or through other people.”

Here’s Why Lo Bosworth Wasn’t at the ‘Laguna Beach’ Press Day, and Moms Get It

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 3:37pm

The Laguna Beach reunion is less than a month away! And that means the whole gang is making the media rounds. But when LC, KristinCavallari,Stephen Coletti, and the rest of the crew got together for press day, one cast member was an obvious no-show.

Which ‘Laguna Beach’ cast member was not at the reunion press day?

Lo Bosworth (Natale) and her husband, Dom Natale, recently welcomed their first child. Baby Nelle made her grand debut in January of 2026, turning Lo from a reality star to a mom.

While the Love Wellness entrepreneur made her mark on the show as LC’s (Lauren Conrad) BFF, and later starred on The Hills, Bosworth was noticeably absent from the revolving rounds of reunion interviews. So, where was Lo? In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bosworth gives an explanation—and any mom who has had pregnancy or childbirth complications totally understands. Scratch that, any mom understands.

What happened after Lo Bosworth's pregnancy?

Earlier this March, Bosworth got real about her post-pregnancy complications. The former reality TV star wrote on her Substack, “My body is not cooperating. I’m dealing with some complications that may require surgery, and it’s a lot to hold emotionally while also wanting to be completely present for this little person who has already rearranged my entire heart.”

Lo later revealed, in an Instagram clip, “No, I didn’t go to the Laguna Beach press day. Not because I didn’t want to be there. I just had a baby, and I have to get some placenta removed next week. Surgically. That was accidentally left behind.”

View this post on Instagram

Fans took to Instagram to show support for the new mama. One wrote, “No explanation needed…us real fans know…feel better and keep enjoying your mommy life,” while others offered words of encouragement, “Lo, you will get through this, and it will get better! Hope you feel better soon!” and, “I hope surgery goes well for you! I had the same thing, caused me so many issues. Big hugs to you! Your baby is beautiful!”

It’s clear that the parenting community is rallying around this celeb mommy. As another commentator points out, “Most of your fans, we are now moms. Take your time mom…and we hope to see you back soon…Wish you an easy recovery.”

This isn’t Lo’s first post about her surgery. Just a few days ago, the new mommy shared, “Getting my surgery plan this week to finally get out my retained placenta…I physically feel so tired, my PP recovery has def stalled/is at a standstill bc I’m basically having a constant inflammatory response to this tissue.” She also asked (in the post’s caption), “Can someone who has been thru this pls tell me this gonna be ok.”

Like her fans, we’re also wishing Bosworth a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see her back on Laguna Beach, again.

10 Years Ago, This Highly Anticipated Book Sequel Changed Everything for Readers

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 3:35pm

Just a year after the success of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Sarah J. Maas returned with a sequel. It was one of the most highly anticipated books of the year, but what nobody knew was how it would change everything. Yes, we’ve almost reached the 10-year anniversary of the release of A Court of Mist and Fury.

A Court of Thorns and Roses made us believe that we were rooting for the love story between Feyre and Tamlin. Then the sequel introduced another character, one who would become the book boyfriend everyone on BookTok would want.

An Introduction of a Character Not Expected

Maas has recently shared that the character of Rhysand wasn’t originally going to be a major part of the story, except as a bit of a villain. He wasn’t there to work as a potential romantic partner for Feyre, and he is the reason this second novel changed everything for the readers.

No longer was it a story of Fyre and Tamlin, and how they would end up together. It became somewhat of a love triangle, with the two men seemingly switching their roles.

The novel remains a talking point for many fans of the entire ACOTAR series, with the Starfall scene standing out the most. In fact, it remains a popular talking point for Maas 10 years on, with her recently talking about how that Starfall scene came about in the first place. There’s no doubt that not only did this book change everything for readers, but it also changed everything for Maas.

A Winner in Its Genre

A Court of Mist and Fury would, unsurprisingly, go on to win the Goodreads Readers' Favorite Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction category for the year. It’s also rare for a sequel, but it now holds a higher star rating on Goodreads than the first book in the series. It just proves that not all authors are hit with the sophomore slump.

In fact, 72% of the reviews for this sequel are five-star reviews. A Court of Thorns and Roses only scored 43% of readers giving it a five-star rating. In fact, there are comments from readers that share the sequel works as a great jumping off point for the overall story, making it possible to skip ACOTAR completely.

Now we await the sixth and seventh ACOTAR books that are to come in October 2026 and January 2027.

Alan Ritchson’s ‘Reacher’ Season 4 Love Interest Reacts to His Fight With Neighbor

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 3:21pm

Alan Ritchson revealed that he finished recording his lines for Reacher Season 4. The celebratory update was an Instagram video of himself in the studio on March 25.

"Happy to be back in the booth after such a crazy week!" he captioned the post. That's because it was after the actor got into a fight with a neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, and decided not to press charges against him. Now his co-star for next season is showing her public support.

Agnez Mo will play Lila Hoth in Reacher. She told Page Six that she's totally on Ritchson's, 43, side and mentioned the actor's body cam video which caught Taylor starting the fight.

"But to be honest with you… I’ve had enough with people always trying to blame the celebrity or the artist," Mo, 39, said. "And yes, there are some people who are a–holes, but I don’t think Alan is one of them." She revealed she sent Ritchson an affirming message privately during the ordeal.

Season 4 is reportedly coming out on Prime Video "soon." The show usually is released one to two months after post-production wraps. IMDb currently has a short description of the first episode.

"Reacher is on a New York City subway train, where he becomes suspicious of a woman who he believes might be a suicide bomber. His investigation into her potential involvement leads him into a dangerous shadow war involving a terrorist cell and a conspiracy that puts his own life at risk," reads the synopsis.

Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told The Hollywood Reporter that their investigation into Ritchson and Taylor's fight was over on March 24. "After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense," he said.

Taylor stepped in front of the action star, who was driving a motorcycle in his neighborhood ahead of his two sons on minibikes. Taylor accused him of driving recklessly in the neighborhood. Ritchson tried to get on his bike again when the neighbor stepped in front of him and shoved him. That's when the actor punched him and told him to stay down. He then left with his sons.

Ryan Gosling and Beloved ‘Days of Our Lives' Star: The Cordial Lovefest We Never Want to End

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 3:15pm

In case you missed it, actor Ryan Gosling, 45, is currently having a very public lovefest with Days of Our Lives soap opera star Deidre Hall, 78. Don't worry for Gosling's wife Eva Mendes though—she's actually promoting this adorable back and forth. And it's an ongoing lovefest steeped in equal respect and acting admiration.

We didn't have this on our 2026 wishlist for the Ryan Gosling press tour of his blockbuster film Project Hail Mary, but yes, please!

How the public Ryan Gosling and Deidre Hall lovefest began

Okay, so Gosling was recently on the popular Josh Horowitz celebrity interview podcast and YouTube series, Happy Sad Confused, promoting his new film, as you do. Then Gosling and Horowitz got to talking about the TV that inspired them when they were kids and Gosling went right into praising Days of Our Lives, soap opera actors, and specifically Deidre Hall, who's played Dr. Marlena Evans on the show for almost 50 years (sans a few short breaks).

Photo by Michael Tullberg on Getty Images

"I loved Days of Our Lives," Gosling tells Horowitz. "Soap opera actors in general, they do not get the love they deserve ... [They] memorize. The night before. Like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take. And it's impossible scenarios."

"Like when Marlena, Deidre Hall, gets possessed," he goes onto explain. "This is right around when X-Files was a big deal. Suddenly everything got supernatural. She was possessed by the devil."

"It was an incredible acting class," Gosling says, gushing with awe for what soap opera actors pull off each day. "I remember that thinking Deidre Hall's a great actress because she's having to act possessed right now and that seems like a lot to ask of her."

Here's the clip of Ryan Gosling on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

View this post on Instagram Then, Deidre Hall responded to Ryan Gosling with an amazing invitation

Not long after this clip made its way around the interwebs, Hall jumped on Instagram to thank Gosling for seeing the tough work that soap opera actors do.

“I caught the podcast. Oh my gosh, what fun," she says in her message back to Gosling. "We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room, and we’re just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of. Because we work really hard, as you acknowledged.”

Hall then extended an open invitation, “So we think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods. So this is an open invitation to visit the Days of Our Lives set."

"Nobody will be possessed," she jokingly adds. "And if they are, I’ll keep an eye on you.”

View this post on Instagram Then, Ryan Gosling praised Deidre Hall some more and accepted her invitation

And it kept going! Gosling's wife Eva Mendes helped him post a reply via her Instagram.

"Deidre Hall! Are you kidding me?" responds Gosling. "Yes. This is a very enthusiastic 'yes' to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set."

"I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration," he continues. "It wasn't Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. It wasn't DeNiro in Taxi Driver. It was you. And I want to thank you for your offer. Anytime. Anywhere. You tell me. I'll be there."

"I'm not worried about the possession," he jokes back to her and then gets in this witty plug for his movie. "I'll say a Hail Mary before I get there. I'll be fine. And I'll see you on set."

Can this keep going, please? It's so positive and supportive, and the world needs more lovefests like this one in our everyday lives.

The horror genre remains one of the most popular, as it opens up worlds of myth and folklore. It can also bring about terrifying nightmares we’ve all had, giving us the boost of adrenaline that we need when we can’t get out to a fear house. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, we want to check out the latest horror picks, and Goodreads users have shared their favorites.

As people add books to their “Want to Read” shelves, Goodreads keeps track. This is a chance to delve into the world of new releases, finding something that you hadn’t realized is coming out and introducing you to authors who you didn’t know existed. We have a look at the three top picks for horror books releasing in April 2026.

‘The Caretaker’ by Marcus Kliewer

There have been plenty of times we’ve looked at Craigslist or similar sites for jobs, and while some have certainly turned into nightmares, they’ve been nothing like the one Macy Mullins ends up facing. When she sees a role for a caretaker that only requires three days of work and has competitive pay, she can’t help but take a look.

Something pulled her to that job listing, and at the moment, she can’t afford to be picky, so she decides to take her changes. It’s only three days of work, right? That is until something evil may be in the property she’s caring for.

Marcus Kliewer has become the new voice of horror, and The Caretakeris just his second release. Yet, with the suspense and jump scares his first book had, it’s easy to see why readers are ready for the second, releasing on April 21, 2026.

HarperCollins

‘Japanese Gothic’ by Kylie Lee Baker

Jump scares and monsters that go bump in the night aren’t the only things that create intriguing horror stories. Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker will bring another layer — the intrigue and mystery. This book is set in two time periods, 2026 and 1877.

The two stories are packed with heartbreak and determination. They both have tales that promise to make you think twice about what you’re being told. After all, it turns out that one of the stories is a lie, and as the reader, you need to figure out which one it is. One of the best things is it bring Japanese mythology to the heart of the story, and I swear, Japanese mythology is the scariest of them all.

Check out Japanese Gothic from April 14, 2026.

Penguin Random House

‘Molka’ by Monica Kim

“Molka” is a Korean term used for spy cameras that have been secretly and illegally installed. If that doesn’t already make you scared, then I don’t know what will. Molka by Monica Kim brings the story of a new couple, Dahye and Hyukjoon, who move into their new apartment, only to find out that all their sexual activities have made it to the internet.

After Hyukjoon flees the country, Dahye is left to figure out the fallout on her own. However, her nightmare isn’t over, as she ends up becoming the focus for Junyoung, a nerd IT guy at work, who decides to make Dahye his new sole obsession. Maybe that isn’t the scariest part of the story, as Dahye focuses on revenge against the men who have wronged her.

Molka will be released on April 30, 2026.

Tiger Woods Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Rollover Car Crash in Florida

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 2:47pm

Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a rollover car accident on Friday, Mar. 27.

According to local outlet WPTV, the accident occurred near Woods' home in Jupiter Island, Florida, just after 2 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said when police responded to the scene, they found a pickup truck pulling a pressure-cleaner trailer and a Range Rover belonging to Woods on its side. An image taken by WPTV shows the vehicle lying on the driver's side.

Budensiek said officers could see that the driver of the Range Rover "might be impaired," prompting them to contact the sheriff's office.

The sheriff said their investigation revealed that the pickup truck was traveling northbound and was begin to pull into a driveway.

"The driver of that vehicle looked in his mirror and saw a (Range) Rover overtaking him at high speeds," Budensiek said. "He saw it coming, so he tried to edge off the side of the road, but this is a small two-lane road, and there was no shoulder ... to get off the side of the road."

Budensiek said the Range Rover "swerved to avoid a collision" but clipped the back end of the pressure-cleaner trailer, causing Woods' vehicle to roll over on its side.

After the crash, the sheriff said Woods was able to crawl out of the vehicle through the passenger's side door.

"Our DUI investigators came to the scene, and Mr. Woods did (exhibit) signs of impairment," Budensiek said. "They did several tests on him ... He was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail."

The sheriff noted Woods complied with a breathalyzer and blew "triple zeroes" but refused a urine test.

"He's been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test," Budensiek said.

The sheriff believes the golfer was impaired by "some type of medication or drug" rather than alcohol.

"We will never get definitive results as to what he was impaired on at the time of the crash," Budensiek added.

Neither Woods nor the driver of the pickup truck were hurt in the crash.

Woods is facing misdemeanor charges. He will be held in the Martin County Jail for at least eight hours, in accordance with Florida law for DUI arrests. The Martin County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating.

Woods was previously involved in a serious car wreck in California in 2021, and he nearly had his leg amputated after suffering multiple fractures to the upper and lower fibula and tibia in his right leg.

The injuries had to be stabilized with a rod, and he also needed screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle. That crash was caused by excessive speed, per law enforcement.

In 2017, Woods was arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence. Woods later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, paid a $250 fine, and attended DUI school.

Pima County Deputy Arrested on Kidnapping Charge, Causes Nancy Guthrie Chatter

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 2:36pm

Travis Reynolds, a Pima County deputy, was arrested on a kidnapping charge, and subsequently fired from his position within the department. According to KOLD, the 22-year-old was arrested by the Tucson Police Department.

During a hearing held on Friday, March 27, "the state claimed a female victim said she is scared of Reynolds due to his job and due to the 'power dynamic between him and the victim.' The state also said the incident may have happened before," KOLD reported.

The female victim was being transported to the Pima County Jail by Reynolds when he allegedly made a comment about her looks. In the complaint, the woman also said that "they could go to a hotel and have sex." Per the report, the woman asked to be taken "inside the jail but Reynolds refused."

According to KGUN, Reynolds admitted that he talked to the woman about going to a hotel to have sex. He also said that he may have shown her sexually explicit videos while in the police car, presumably on his cell phone.

Reynolds, who doesn't have a prior criminal record, had his bond set at $200,000. He's due back in court on April 6.

Reynolds' arrest sparked chatter online, but he has nothing to do with the Nancy Guthrie case. Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that she was kidnapped from her home in the Catalina Foothills. Investigators have been unsuccessful in finding out who's responsible for her disappearance.

Recall Alert: Pizza and Bread Sold at Trader Joe's and Meijer Pulled Over Metal Contamination

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 2:25pm

Freezer staples and ready-to-bake favorites are getting extra scrutiny this week after a federal safety update involving popular grocery items sold at chains like Trader Joe's and Meijer. Shoppers who recently picked up pizza or focaccia at these major retailers may want to take a closer look at their packaging.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, manufacturer Bakkavor has voluntarily initiated a recall affecting more than 25,000 cases of certain pizza and bread products. The recall was first initiated on January 19 and later classified by the FDA as a Class II recall on March 23. A Class II designation means the products could cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences.

The recall is due to the possible presence of metal fragments. The company determined the source to be roasted tomatoes supplied by one of its ingredient vendors.

The recalled items were distributed to Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia. Some were also shipped directly to customers through grocery delivery services.

The following products are included in the recall:

  • HelloFresh Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Pizza (13.90 oz), UPC 8 57919 00785 5
    Lot 20367483 UB 6/29/26 Lot 20367483 UB 6/30/26 Lot 20377537 UB 9/4/26 Lot 20377821 UB 9/5/26

What Shoppers Should Do Now

Metal contamination in food products can pose a risk of injury if consumed. While no injuries have been widely reported in connection with this recall, the FDA advises consumers not to eat the affected pizza or bread items.

Anyone who purchased the recalled pizza or focaccia should check the lot codes and use-by dates carefully. Products that match the recall information should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

Consumers with questions can contact the recalling firm directly. Since this is an ongoing recall, additional updates could follow if more products are identified.

With Trader Joe's pizza and Meijer bread products included in this recall alert, now is a good time to double-check your freezer and pantry before your next pizza night.

I Just Read a Book That Is the Perfect ‘Game of Thrones’ for Tweens

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 2:19pm

While Game of Thrones brings some great stories of political intrigue and dragons, A Song of Ice and Fire is also a series not appropriate for children. If tweens see the shot of dragons flying high in the sky, it’s possible that they will want to read. Instead, there’s another amazing new novel worth checking out instead. Her Hidden Fire is the debut from Cliodhna O'Sullivan that is a must.

This is also perfect for fans of Shadow and Bone, Iron Flame, and even those looking for something that’s a tween-friendly version of A Court of Thorns and Roses. Good Morning America made it one of their YA book club picks, and for good reason.

A World Built and Developed in Style

O’Sullivan creates a world from scratch, even including a map of that world at the very start of the book — just after a breakdown of how names are pronounced, which I highly appreciated. This is a map that will need to be lasered onto wood and join the rest of my fandom world maps in my office, because it is beautifully crafted.

Within the story, the world is developed in an easy to understand way. I’m not always the biggest fan of high fantasy because of how unnecessarily in-depth an author can get into the world. After all, they want to share everything that they’ve come up with, but O’Sullivan finds that balance, and it’s clear that while there is more, there are more books to come that can delve deeper.

This is at the right level for a YA book. It creates a universe that can be explored, with much of the focus being on the magic and the history behind it. We also get a sense of dread when it comes to Families losing magic from the start.

Elements of the story feel a little like other books that involve magic, such as the magic training academy, but it all makes sense for this story. Anyone with powers will head there so that they can be molded in the way that those who have come before them see fit. They end up becoming puppets for a regime, and it helps to control everyone.

Absolutely Hateable Villains in a Great Way

Every novel needs a character that you love to absolutely hate, and Her Hidden Fire does that. They all start to come out in the second part of the book — there are three parts, which really helps to separate the journey our lead, Éadha, goes on — for the most part, creating a patriarchal system that you know you will come to despise by the end.

Villains are necessary in a story, but they need to make sense. In this case, they do when you consider the world that has been built. They want control, and if they think anything in this world is going to change things for them, then they’ll attack.

I expected to hate one of the characters in the main love triangle, Ionáin, as I started to dislike him from some of his actions at the very start. However, he has become somewhat redeemable by the end. My annoyance is in how Éadha sacrifices for him throughout the book, even from the very beginning, when he’s shown her so little respect from the start.

Something the many hated characters bring is the political intrigue that Game of Thrones offers. While not fighting for an Iron Throne, there is a fight for change. There is a fight for magic, and that even includes dragons! The dragons only come up in a small way in this first book, but it’s set to be a trilogy, so there is promise of more. I’m also excited to see more of the political elements and the fight for power as more secrets and lies come out.

Of course, this also means death. With a fight for magic and control, there are going to be character deaths that hit hard. And if I say Rue from The Hunger Games, I think you’ll get an idea of what to expect without spoiling too much.

I will warn that there are some elements that become a little repetitive at times, especially at the beginning. However, I have to remember the audience, and while older YA fans won’t need points becoming repetitive, the younger YA fans will. It’s a tough balancing act to get.

Her Hidden Fire is a must-read for tweens looking for something with real-world issues mixed with magic and dragons.

It’s officially cherry blossom season, and those who live near the stunning floral displays are abuzz with the beautiful sign of spring in the air.

Instagram food blogger Markie Devo took to the social media platform in mid-March to share that the cup would become available on the Disney Store website on March 13 for subscribers and on March 14 for the general public, but as commenters were quick to point out, it was sold out online just days later.

If you’d still like to get your hands on the cup, which fans on Instagram called “absolutely gorgeous,” but you’re not in California, fear not – it has also been spotted on the East Coast at Walt Disney World.

According to Walt Disney World News Today, the cherry blossom Starbucks tumbler has since been sighted at the Orlando, Florida theme park, specifically in Magic Kingdom. The site reports that it has been seen in both the bakery on Main Street and the Emporium, but warns that these tumblers tend to sell out quickly and urges fans to purchase one sooner rather than later if they are interested.

This isn’t the first time a Disney Starbucks tumbler has gone viral, with a subtle Winnie the Pooh cup getting major buzz on social media around the holidays.

Fri, 03/27/2026 - 2:11pm

Pfeiffer Hill hoped to find someone to settle down with on Age of Attraction. The 23-year-old committed to move forward with Derrick Fleming. He was 43 and had two kids.

They bonded over their love of traveling. But their 20-year age gap, her living in Seattle, and his living in Dallas seemed like obstacles to them having a future. They chose whether to stay together or break up in the finale. Here is where they are now.

The couple chose to continue their relationship in the finale. Pfeiffer agreed to move to Dallas to make it work.

Derrick revealed to Entertainment Tonight in a now private YouTube video that they broke up. She didn't move to Texas. He claimed the distance and her friends influenced them to break up. Pfeiffer decided not to join the cast for post-finale interviews or go to the reunion. He claimed they're still friends.

Pfeiffer is talking about her experience on the show on TikTok. She revealed she was a junior in college when she applied, so she took a year off in case she was picked. "That was really lucky," she said. Pfeiffer revealed she was returning to school at the end of March.

She also explained that she signed her dad up for The Golden Bachelorette in a different video. Someone sent an email asking if she was a younger woman interested in dating an older man. Pfeiffer was single and thought it would be fun to apply.

A commenter asked her why she wasn't at the reunion. "I can talk more on this after it airs on April 1st!" she replied.

The reunion will take place on The Viall Files. Derrick attended and will probably give his side of the breakup.

Constantly likened to Witherspoon due to their striking similarities, the model told Today in 2024 that she think's "it's a great comparison."

"It's funny, I'm like, it would be a lot weirder if I didn't look like my parents," she said at the time. "My brother and I joke about it a lot because he gets similar comments. But I don't hate it."

Witherspoon shares her daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. The two were married from 1999-2008 and also share son Deacon, 22.

Does it make me feel happy and good and confident?' Then that's what's going in the routine. Anything else can stay for others."

Witherspoon who just turned 50, shared snaps from a birthday celebration where her "twin" Ava was in attendance.
