As much as we try to communicate with our furry family members, humans and animals don’t speak the same language. Still, some pets can be harder to read than others. If you have a cat, then you know how tricky it can be to figure out what they're trying to tell you. After all, while they can be sweet and cuddly, they’re also not as obvious as dogs about how they’re feeling in any given moment, or at all. With that, it’s understandable to wonder if your cat sees you as their protector or just someone who feeds them at regular intervals. To help you decode their body language better, we rounded up 7 signs your cat sees you as their guardian angel, according to vets.

That said, your feline could be dropping clues that they see you as their safe place that you just may not be picking up on them. “We can’t ask cats whether they actually think of their people as protectors, but some behaviors can certainly be signs of familiarity, social interaction, communication and a positive relationship,” explains Jo Myers, DVM, a veterinary advisor at Vetster. 

Therefore, your pet's strong attachment to you could be why your cat does things like follows you to the bathroom whenever you’re there as they know you’re the one who watches over them and keeps them safe. And that's not the only way cats show that they see you as their source of comfort, you just probably don't always notice them since they can be subtle. Here are some sweet and silly cat habits and behaviors that are actually signs that your cat views you as their protector and trusts you.

They Turn Their Back to You

What's one way to know if your cat fully trusts you? Pay attention to your cat's behaviors and how they sit when they are beside you. If your furbaby presses their little back against your body, it's a good sign. “A cat's eyes are oriented on the front of their face, leaving a large blind spot behind them,” says Chyrle Bonk, DVM, a veterinarian at Embrace Pet Insurance. “When your cat presses their back to you, it shows that they trust you and feel secure with you in their blind spot.”

So the next time your kitty does this, remember they aren't ignoring you. Instead they are revealing that they are at ease around you and they rely on you for security and reassurance.

They Sleep in the Open

If you've ever thought to yourself, "Does my cat feel safe with me?" you're not alone. No matter if you adopted your kitty from a shelter, rescued a cat, or welcomed in a stray cat, an easy way to tell is to watch how your furry companion is resting. In fact, your cat know they are vulnerable when they’re passed out. Because of that, how they sleep can show you how safe they feel around you.

“If a cat isn’t feeling secure, they will sleep hidden away,” Bonk says. “However, if a cat chooses to sleep out in the open, it shows that they feel comfortable and protected with you around.”

Therefore, whenever you spot your your favorite feline sprawled out on the couch, consider it a compliment.

They Tell You About Their Day

Some cat breeds are known to be more vocal than others. However, others love to chat with their favorite people, which is a sign you've earned a place in their heart as their guardian angel and someone they can be themself around.

“Many cats learn that vocalizing is an effective way to interact with people, and owners often become remarkably skilled at recognizing their own cats’ different vocalizations,” Myers says.

When your cat regularly “talks” to you, they recognize that you’re someone worth talking to and that you care about them so they want to bond with you.

They Bring You an ‘Offering’

That toy mouse on your bed or plopped at your feet is may not seem like a big deal to you, but to your cat, it’s a sign that they think you’re worthy of this gift.

“If your cat deposits something like a toy on your pillow, you’re welcome to interpret it as a touching expression of your special relationship,” Myers says.

Cats that do this, value your companionship and know you're someone who is looking out for them. Overall, it's a sign your cat trusts you and depends on you.

They Use You as a Massage Tool

Not all cats show affection, but when they do it's a big deal. Seeing how cats have scent glands around the face and head, rubbing their face on you is a way of saying they feel comfortable and familiar with you, Myers says. This also signals to other cats to back off and find their own guardian angel. How sweet is that?

Keep that in mind if you ever wonder how strong your cat-human relationship is.

They Are Comfortable Enough to Complain

If your cat sees you as their trusted protector, don't be surprised if they "report" every inconvenience to you. Cats that feel secure with their humans often vocalize or seek them out when something isn't quite right, whether it's an empty food bowl, a closed door, or another pet invading their space.

“Sometimes, based on my experience with cats, the message appears to be a formal complaint regarding unacceptable delays in meal service,” Myers says. 

While your cat isn't actually filing a grievance, repeatedly coming to you when they want something can be a sign they trust you to solve the problem. Whether they're meowing for dinner, asking you to open a door, or demanding attention, they're treating you as the person who can make things right.

They Turn Your Chest Into a Pillow

Whether you wake up with a furry weight on your chest or your cat enjoys cuddling in that spot while you’re reading or watching TV, Bonk says when your kitty snuggles with you it's a sign that your cat feels safe with you and thinks you are their guardian angel.

“If they choose to sleep on your chest, it shows that they feel secure enough around you to be comfortable,” she says. “They’re putting their trust in you that you will protect them.”

As for its overall size, the glass bottle container holds about 24 ounces of nectar and features roughly a 5.5-inch diameter. The Home Depot does not provide its exact height, however, but feeders of a similar design typically stand around 8 to 12 inches tall on average.

How To Care for a Pomapoo's Fluffy Coat

So how do you keep a Pomapoo's coat nice and healthy like Teddy's (so he also will look like he gave up drinking)?

First of all, for a little context, a Pomapoo is a crossbreed between a Pomeranian and a Toy Poodle or a Miniature Poodle, resulting in an absolutely adorable little pup.

They usually weigh between 5 and 14 pounds and are known for their teddy bear-like appearance due to their often very fluffy coat (which is handed down from the Pomeranian parent).

Now, not all Pomapoos have a naturally fluffy coat, as they may inherit more of the curly coat from the Poodle parent, which is also hypoallergenic.

If you do have a fluffy Pomapoo, though, you need to brush their hair very frequently and schedule grooming appointments about every six weeks, according to PetEducate.com.

They won't need frequent baths, but definitely every few weeks.

Due to their parents' different coats, there is a lot of variety in a Pomapoo's coat.

Their coat will also determine how much they shed.

But whether they take after the Poodle side or the Pom's side, you know they will be quite cute.

Jimothy may be the talk of the town right now, but there's another oddly shaped little legend ready to make people stop scrolling.

Had Erika Mendina actually made it home with this bobkitten, she definitely would have been in for a wild ride. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have noticed at first! Luckily, though, she figured it out quickly and made the executive decision not to put the kitten in her car.

Thank goodness. Most likely, Mama was nearby, and something tells me that Mama would not have liked that very much. I know there's nothing I would want less than a mad bobcat coming at me! So, she left him there and minded her business.

How to Tell a Baby Bobcat From a Regular Kitten

One thing most people are not going to want is to accidentally bring home a bobkitten when they thought they were just helping out a regular kitten. It becomes a mess very quickly, but luckily, telling them apart is easy when you know what to look for.

Unlike kittens, all baby bobcats look pretty much the same, so if you spot one, you'll know. The tell-tale signs that a "kitten" is actually a bobkitten are:

• Fluffy points on both ears.
• Striped markings down their body.
• A warm, orange-tan color.
• A short, bobbed tail.

The tail is the biggest thing. If you see a kitten without a tail, double-check to make sure they're not a bobkitten. If they are and they appear injured or look like they need help, you should call a wildlife rescue, but if they're just passing through, mind your business!

Both of my dogs love most foods, yet they have a certain obsession with burgers. In the TikTok from @zarathepit, the precious pooch's mom had a to-go box alongside some tubs of guacamole, tipping off that she was about to enjoy some Mexican food. Zara instantly smelled the delectable aroma and lingered nearby, putting her mom on guard.

"Are you gonna be a good girl?" Zara's mom asked as the pretty Pittie eyed the takeout container. "You're not going to eat Mommy's food?"

Zara gave her mom an innocent look as if to say, "Of course, I'll be good", and her mom bought it hook, line, and sinker. She opened the container to the irresistible cuisine and Zara just couldn't hold back. The canine cutie began licking at the food to get any tiny taste she could swipe. Pet parents should use caution when treating their dogs to human-grade meals, including certain Mexican dishes. Ingredients like well-cooked, low-fat ground meat and zucchini are safe for pups and can be whipped up into a dog-friendly taco using a sweet potato as the shell.

When Might a Cockatoo Need a Sweater?

If you have a healthy Cockatoo, they don't need a sweater for warmth in almost any case. If it's exceptionally cold where you are and you want to take them outside, then maybe, but it's technically unnecessary.

Most Cockatoos would never need a sweater at all, but that doesn't mean they can't wear them. If your Cockatoo is willing to wear a sweater, then you can put a sweater on them. However, there are some times a sweater might actually be recommended, like if:

• Your bird has experienced feather loss.
• Your bird is underweight.
• Your bird has a habit of feather-plucking.

When I brought my puppy home three years ago, I swear, her paws hardly touched the ground for weeks. We were all in love with her and simply wanted her close to us at all times. These days, she's full-grown and still thinks she's a baby!

New Hope Animal Rescue Center definitely isn't used to seeing this. Most of the time, animals are brought into the shelter scared and upset, even if they're getting off the streets. It's unfamiliar, loud, and typically not very comforting.

For these puppies to be happy, and even sleeping soundly in their shelter kennel just hours after coming in... The situation they came from must have been very stressful.I'm happy they're still together for now, and they'll have safety for (hopefully) the rest of their lives.

Rottweilers are some of my favorite dogs ever, mostly because they look like they could tear you apart, yet they're like bumblebees in dog form. All they want to do is run into stuff and figure things out!

Rottweilers were originally bred as a sort of multi-purpose farm dog: they could herd, pull carts, guard the livestock, and be great companions for humans all at once. As a result, they're:

• Fearless.
• Adventurous.
• Smart.

Rottweilers love to find things out: they'd investigate sketchy spots on farms to look for predators. Though they're not as commonly used for that purpose anymore, they're still very curious, especially when it comes to memory foam, apparently!

Why Do Cats Sleep in Funny Poses?

Many of the comments on the Ragdoll cat sleeping position video featured other Ragdoll cat parents saying their kitties also sleep or nap in very funny and similar poses.

One wrote, "My Ragdoll does that all the time, too! A few of my other cats started copying him..."

So why do kitties sleep in such funny poses? Well, first of all, cats typically sleep 16 hours a day and more when they're older, so that provides a lot of time for different sleeping postures.

As for why they may choose a weird or funny way to position their bodies during naps, there are a few reasons.

• Cats are very flexible: Positions that may look uncomfortable to us are completely natural to them, as they can contort their spines in ways humans simply can't.
• Felines regulate their body temperature through their sleeping positions: To warm up, they may curl up, and to cool off, they may spread out with their bellies fully exposed, as Copper did in this video.
• Cats feel safe when they're sleeping: Copper here is sleeping on his back, belly exposed, which indicates he feels very secure.

Misty Mae is a saint for finding and helping them all when she had the chance. She's seen this cat before, and most of the times they've interacted had been for food. That's what she thought was going on this time, too, but... It was different.

How to Handle Stray Kittens

If you find kittens in your yard, it's only natural that you're probably going to want to keep them. They're so vulnerable, and the thought of bringing them to a shelter can be a little scary. You might even see a video like this and be like, "Well, if she can do it, why can't I?"

If you find stray kittens, no one is going to stop you from keeping them. If you have the time, energy, and money to keep them, you should do it. However, if you don't, or even if you just don't want them, you can:

• Set them up with a TNVR organization for neutering, vaccination, and release.

• Offer to foster them and find adoption placements that way.

Neville the Bengal-Maine Coon is less than a year old, though you'd never know it by looking at him. He's not the fluffiest cat in the world, since his Bengal genes give him a long but sleek coat. Both Bengals and Maine Coons are absurdly long cats, though, which explains him.

He's long, lean, and doesn't take no for an answer, especially when it comes to adventure. He likes to go out every day he possibly can, and his mom supports him by putting a leash on him. Responsible outside time is absolutely the best!

Bengals and Maine Coons, separately, are two breeds that most people advise leaving to experienced cat parents. They're:
