Fluffy Mini Cow Excitedly Gallops Outside As He Enjoys the First Days of Spring

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 6:31pm

Even if winter is still lingering where you live, there are signs of spring everywhere. The days are getting longer, the sun is beginning to thaw the freeze of this seriously cold winter, and spring is in the air. If you’re like us, you can’t wait to get outside at the first signs of spring. Even if it’s still chilly, it feels so good to get out on a crisp spring day. Animals, like Highland Mini Cows, are no different. When spring is in the air, animals want to get outside as soon as possible too.

In a seriously adorable video that crossed our TikTok feed, posted by Circle of Highlands in Tennessee, one ebullient Mini Cow named Sprinkles can be seen making the most of the first signs of spring. Galloping like a horse, Sprinkles clearly has spring fever. The post is captioned:

“Sprinkles, the adorable Mini Highland Cow, is having a fantastic time basking in the warm Tennessee sunshine. Known for their sweet disposition and fluffy coats, Mini Highland Cows like Sprinkles are a delightful addition to any farm. Sprinkles loves to explore the lush green fields and bask in the sun, showcasing the simple joys of farm life.”

Is everything cuter when it’s small😂 Herşeyin mi küçüğü güzel olur😂 The Highland cow (Hairy Coo), a world-famous symbol of Scotland, is one of the oldest registered cattle breeds in the world. Known for its long shaggy coat and impressive horns, it is incredibly resilient to harsh climates. These animals are famous for their gentle temperament and iconic appearance. Because they enjoy interacting with people, they are often described as “dogs in cow form.” The long fringe that falls over their eyes is called a “dossan,” which helps protect them from wind, rain, and insects.

We love Sprinkles’ enthusiasm for spring, one we, and the post’s many viewers, can completely relate to.

“If a Golden Retriever was also a Mini Cow,” commented one viewer, referencing Sprinkles’ energetic gallop. “Nothing like seeing a frolicking Mini Cow,” gushed another.

We’re taking Sprinkles’ social media video as inspiration to get out and enjoy these early spring days. See you outside!

Noodle the Frenchie Has the Cutest Habit for Bath Time Anxiety, and We’re Obsessed

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 4:48pm

Some dogs panic when they enter the bathroom for bath time. Sure, some dogs enjoy it, but others may have to find ways to deal with the anxiety it brings up. For any pet parent with an anxious dog, it's a win just to get through bath time.

In a video shared on the social media platform Reddit, we see a French bulldog who clearly is not a fan of bath time. He is not thrilled about it, that much is clear. However, he copes in a way that keeps him calm, present and manageable—and it's adorable.

In the video, we see the Frenchie trying to lick the drops of water on the shower glass. It is a small moment, but it shows that sometimes dogs find their own unique way to cope with something they may not be entirely comfortable with.

What Are Fans Saying About It?

Fans loved how calm and relaxed Noodle looks in the video. One person commented, “Licking his anxiety away.” One fan jokingly said Noodle might have seen a video about a lick mat and tried to do it too. The commenter wrote, “I think he saw a tik tok where people put peanut butter on the glass.” In this case, there was no lick mat, but Noodle licked anyway to calm himself down.

A couple of fans commented on how beautiful he is, saying, “Oh that tongue! Love it! Your baby is so adorable.”

One fan wanted to try this shower trick with her own pup. She said, “Omg my girl hates baths so much maybe I should try showering her!” Noodle’s dad explained that his French bulldog was never a fan of baths, but enjoyed the shower.

Why Do Dogs Hate Bath Time?

For many dogs, baths feel unnatural from the start. Water changes how their fur feels and moves. The sound of running water can be loud and unpredictable. The tub itself is slippery, which makes it hard for them to feel stable. Add in unfamiliar smells from shampoos and soaps, and the whole experience can quickly become overwhelming.

We also have to take into consideration past associations. For example, a rescue dog might link bathing with stress from earlier experiences. Even if nothing bad is happening now, their body remembers the feeling.

How to Help Dogs Cope With Anxiety During a Bath

Small adjustments can make a big difference. You can transform the bathroom from a place of fear into a place of rewards with a few environmental shifts.

For starters, you can use a non-slip rubber mat to help dogs feel secure and safe on their feet.

A nifty trick is smearing a small amount of dog-safe peanut butter on the wall or a lick mat. Dogs lick it and do not pay attention to the bath. For dogs, licking is a natural soothing behavior, and peanut butter may do the trick.

Another way to help a dog is to keep the water pressure low and avoid spraying the dog directly in the face. For many dogs, that type of spraying doesn't feel good.

Lastly, introduce your dog to the dry tub several times per week with treats. This helps them associate the room with something good, not with getting wet.

Mini Dachshund Snoozes on Mom's Shoulder for the Ultimate Car Ride Nap

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 4:31pm

Okay, you adore your Mini Dachshund, but you’re not sure if it’s healthy for your dog to want to be around you this often. Truth be told, you love the company. What could be cuter than a Mini Dachshund as a shadow? We’ll wait… nothing. Maybe your other furry friends are more aloof or take a while to bond, but your Mini Dachshund is always around, especially when it’s bedtime. You’re cool with it, but just want to make sure it’s typical for the breed.

There’s a reason why Dachshunds have earned the nickname “Velcro Dogs.” This breed loves company, especially when they sleep. Big fans of co-sleeping, Mini Dachshunds crave companionship at bedtime, helping them feel safe and secure. Pack animals by nature, Dachshunds and Mini Dachshunds find comfort in bedtime cuddles and knowing someone or something else is nearby while they sleep.

A Mini Dachshund’s need for anxiety-reducing sleep habits might explain the adorable video that just crossed our TikTok feed. In the video, Mom can be seen driving a car with her Mini Dachshund comfortably snoozing on her shoulder. Little Olivia, the Mini Dachshund, nuzzles her head into Mom’s neck and rests comfortably on her human’s shoulder, the motion of the car lulling this precious pup into a blissful nap.

Mom keeps the car ride safe by not letting the snoozing dog obstruct her arms or visibility, and the dog appears to be deep in dreamland as Mom drives down the road.

Other Mini Dachshund lovers were quick to jump into the comment section, sharing their own pup’s car ride nap habits, with one writing, “Mine does that too, but only in the car.” Another added, “My baby loves to do that. Is it like a Dachshund thing or something else?”

Other family members of Mini Dachshunds shared photos of their own dogs sleeping on their shoulder, leg, or neck during car rides as well. A few commenters even shared photos of their dogs napping similarly, despite being a different breed.

Dachshunds may be known as Velcro Dogs, but many dogs love to stay close to a human or another pup while snoozing. Consider it a compliment, and by all means don’t move. A dog napping on a human’s shoulder is one of the most heartwarming things we’ve seen all day.

Sweet dreams, Olivia.

35% of Americans Want to Adopt Large Dogs, But This Common Barrier Is Fueling Shelter Overcrowding

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 3:50pm

Shelters are full of dogs of all sizes looking for loving homes. However, large dogs disproportionately spend longer in shelters than their smaller counterparts.

According to a new report, 35 percent of Americans would prefer to adopt a large dog. However, housing restrictions, economic factors and rental agreements stand in their way, leaving these dogs to sit in shelters.

Big Dogs Sit in Shelters Longer Stray dogs await adoption at a shelter.

Evgenii Bakhchev via Shutterstock.com

Overcrowding is one of the biggest challenges currently facing our shelters. Between dogs being dumped in the streets, unplanned litters and surrenders, shelters cannot adopt pups out as quickly as they are coming in. Adoption specials and redistributing pups to neighboring shelters aren't making up the difference either, especially when it comes to pups that are a little bit on the larger side.

According to the ASPCA's 2025 Shelter Animal Count Report, 5.8 million dogs and cats were taken in by rescues and shelters nationwide. Of that 5.8 million, 2.8 million were dogs. Thankfully, 2 million of them found new homes by the end of 2025, with a carryover of 147,000 dogs. However, although large dogs account for only 26 percent of intakes into rescues and shelters, they have longer stays than small and medium dogs.

Hill's Pet Nutrition recently compiled its 2026 State of Shelter Pet Adoption Report, which details why larger dogs spend longer in shelters and what can be done to help them find the loving homes they deserve more quickly, with the ultimate goal of alleviating the overall toll on dogs and shelters. Large dogs are classified as those weighing 61 pounds or more.

“The 2026 State of Shelter Pet Adoption Report uses data-driven insights to help the animal welfare community identify and quantify the unique challenges affecting large dog adoption,” said Meghan Lehman, Senior Manager, Brand Engagement for Shelters at Hill's Pet Nutrition in a press release. “By understanding and identifying the root causes of adoption hesitancy, we can empower the sheltering community to develop effective strategies that reduce barriers and improve outcomes.”

State of Shelter Adoptions Report Identifies Hurdles

The report covers the results of a sample size of 2,000 Americans. While it is a small sampling, the findings are eye-opening and could have wider implications. A little over a third of the sample said they would ultimately like to adopt a larger dog, while 19 percent were open to any dog size.

One of the factors that deters the majority of Americans sampled from considering larger pups is a lack of confidence in their ability to care for and handle a bigger dog, something I can completely understand as an owner of a 70-pound German shepherd. That concern is amplified when you have a larger dog with a high prey drive; you tend to wonder what will happen if all that time you spent training fails and your dog decides to chase down that squirrel or, in my case, a deer. Fortunately, I am fairly confident in my handling abilities and have never had an issue, which puts me in line with the 89 percent of those surveyed. But those who weren't likely to adopt a large dog said they had only 33 percent confidence in their handling abilities, which steered them toward smaller dogs.

Pet ownership is expensive, and the bigger the pup, the more they eat, the more expensive their vet visits are and the more expensive it is if something goes wrong. Larger dogs are also more expensive to adopt and more expensive to fix. It's no surprise that the biggest factor in the battle of small versus big dog is the financial cost. Many programs focus on making initial pet ownership more affordable by offering lower adoption fees or big-dog specials, but not all. Potential adopters would be more motivated if there were free or discounted training, low adoption costs and financial assistance to get the basics needed to bring home a new dog.

While younger generations are 30 percent more likely to bring home a big pup over a small one, they face different challenges than the 16 percent of Gen X and Boomers who say they would want a bigger four-legged friend. Fewer Millennials and Gen Z own homes, and many apartments or condos have size restrictions for pets, often favoring pups under 30 or 40 pounds. So while they may be more willing than the older generations to adopt a larger dog, they have a barrier standing in the way of them and their ideal companion.

"The challenges facing large dogs in shelters are not isolated to any one community — they are national in scope and require shared understanding,” said Jim Tedford, President and CEO at The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, in a press release. “This report equips shelter leaders with timely, relevant data that can help guide conversations, shape programs, and strengthen outcomes for pets in need.”

This is the fourth edition of the Hill's report. Hopefully, it can continue to provide actionable information that will eventually help more large, lovable pups find their way into new homes a little faster every year.

Amazing Dog Riding a Onewheel Is 'What the Internet Was Made For'

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 2:38pm

Greyson really gets around. The Pit Bull mix has the extraordinary ability to control a one-wheeled skateboard like an absolute pro. He rides around town, turning heads and garnering so much praise online that one commenter claims the internet exists solely to showcase unique talent such as his.

Video after video on Greyson's account documents his amazing skill, but this one in particular shows the free-wheeling pup maneuvering his Onewheel around the park, tail wagging happily. His human can be heard assuring spectators that the dog is, in fact, steering his own board. At one point, a man moves off the path to make room for Greyson, and we can see the amazement on his face as he watches the dog zip by.

"I can't even get mine to come when I call, let alone put them on wheels," jokes one viewer.

"He drives better than I do," laughs another.

Others are simply blown away and question what it took to get him there.

"The amount of patience to teach him that," wonders one.

But how does one actually teach a dog to ride a skateboard so masterfully?

Related: Golden Retriever's Refusal to Leave the Park Is So Sad, It's Funny

Skateboarding Basics For Dogs

I couldn't find a post that showcased how Greyson was taught to ride his board, but the process was probably similar to what this article recommends. After all, teaching a dog to skateboard looks impressive, but it’s really just a series of small, very patient steps. The goal isn’t speed—it’s getting your dog comfortable and confident first.

Start with the basics: the right board matters. It should be sturdy, stable, and big enough for your dog to stand on without feeling cramped. From there, just let them get used to it—sniff it, stand near it, exist around it. No pressure.

Next, you build up slowly. First paws on the board, then all four paws, with the board not moving. Once they’re steady, you introduce a tiny bit of movement—very controlled, very slow. Treats and praise do most of the heavy lifting here.

Eventually, you work up to actual rolling, and then (the hardest part) getting them to push the board themselves (or in Greyson's case, teaching him to control the speed and direction of the electric board by shifting his body weight). That part takes time and repetition, and not every dog is going to master it—and that’s fine.

It's best to keep sessions short, positive, and low-pressure. If your dog seems unsure, go back a step and take extra time. This is one of those things where patience matters more than progress.

Spring Scratch House, $9.99 at Aldi

Just like their owners, cats can get bored over winter. Sure, they may have a favorite bed nap spot or scratching post, but a refresh will do wonders to lift their spirits and make them feel loved as they head into a new season. Aldi's Heart to Tail Spring Cat Scratch House will certainly leave them with butterflies- in more ways than one!

The butterfly-themed scratcher is bright and cheery, and it screams, "Spring has entered the chat!" The cat house measures 18.90 inches long by 12.60 inches wide, and stands at 21.10 inches tall. The storefront-style house features a pink-and-white awning set against a chic pastel backdrop, which is covered with a perfectly sensible amount of red, yellow, and lavender florals.

Flittering about the exterior are butterflies of all shapes and sizes. Each is a unique blend of pastel colors. The rooftop is pink and adorned with butterflies, but this collection is decidedly brighter and cheerier than those along the walls.

Your cat can snuggle inside, feeling safe and protected, while having the option to exit through the semicircular front door, the round back exit, or merely peek their head out of the aptly shaped cat head window. Cats do like to keep their options open, and this scratcher fits the bill.

Catnip is a kitty favorite no matter what season it is, but the 2 grams included with this cat scratcher can only enhance your cat's feelings of joy and contentment as they roll around in the comfort of their spring scratch house. Rescued Cockatoo's Sweet Little Wave After Feeling Safe With New Family Is Everything

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 12:30pm

Adopting a new animal to add to the family can be a big adjustment for everyone (human and otherwise) in the household, but seeing how much you can change the life of your new pet just by giving them a loving home and family really is everything.

The prime example of this is Carmen the Cockatoo, featured in the TikTok video below. Now that he has joined his new family, he is thriving.

@carmenthechicken

In this video shared on Monday, March 23, Carmen's human explains the massive change that he's made since they first brought him home.

"I adopted Carmen after a long life of isolation and being misunderstood," she wrote. "Now he's dancing, going to work with me, loved by an entire family. We are all Carmen around here."

Sure enough, Carmen looks like he's living his best life in this video, busting a move all over the house and looking so happy the entire time. He deserves this!

How to Rescue a Cockatoo

Adopting a rescue Cockatoo is going to be a bit different than adopting a dog or a cat, and not just because we're talking about very obviously different animals. While rescuing a dog or cat can be as easy as visiting your local animal shelter or humane society, finding a Cockatoo in need of a loving home will be a bit more of a challenge.

Once you've decided to take the plunge and add a bird to your fam, a good place to start will be at local parrot and bird rescues since that's where these animals will receive the specialized care they need.

The well known Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah also has plenty of birds of all kinds available to adopt, so their website can be a good place to start as well.

It may take a bit of extra effort, but imagine making a bird as happy as Carmen is in this video. In the end, the extra effort will be totally worth it.

Mom Teaching Her Deaf Maine Coon Cat Sign Language Is So Beautiful To Watch

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 12:20pm

There are a lot of sweet pet videos on the internet, and then there are the ones that make you stop because something about them just feels different. This is one of those. A cat mamma is communicating with her deaf cat using American Sign Language, and the moment she asks a simple question, his entire energy shifts in the best way.

It is quiet. It is intentional. And then suddenly, it is chaos in the most joyful, cat way possible.

Just wait until you see his excited reaction when she asks him a simple question.

@huckleberry.cant.hear

I think he’s ready! 🤩 #catsoftiktok #deafcat #signlanguage #cattok #fyp

♬ original sound - Huckleberry

@huckleberry.cant.hear shared the beautiful video on TikTok, and in the clip, the cat mom signs to her stunning white Maine Coon, a beauty with heterochromia (one blue eye and one green eye) wearing a hot pink harness. She asks if he is ready to go for a walk, and before she even finishes, he absolutely launches across the room toward her like he has been waiting his whole life for this exact moment.

Related: Blind and Deaf Mini Dachshund Wearing Girly Blue Bows Is Melting Hearts

It's the kind of excitement that feels bigger than just “walk.” It feels like understanding. Like connection. Like this cat knows exactly what she is saying and is all in.

People in the comments were just as moved, and also a little obsessed with how smart and gorgeous he is. One person wrote, “I love how you learned sign language just for him,” while another added, “He’s so smart and handsome.” Someone else shared, “I sign food to my cat, and he understands,” which honestly opens a whole new door of possibilities I was not prepared for.

Others were just stunned by how striking he is, writing, “Whoa. One of the most beautiful cats I’ve ever seen,” and “Your deaf cat listens to you better than my fully hearing-abled cat listens to me,” which… fair. Very fair. And of course, there were the curious viewers asking, “I didn’t know cats could understand sign language?!”

A few people pointed out something really important here. Kitties may not “understand language” the way we think of it, but they are incredibly good at picking up on visual cues, patterns, and repeated signals. Over time, those signs become meaningful, especially when they are tied to something exciting like a walk.

Also, quick personal aside, Meatball (my Maine Coon) would absolutely learn exactly one sign, and it would be “snack,” and then somehow pretend to forget all others immediately.

Why To Adopt a Deaf Cat @tassiloedwards

I eat when I wanna eat! #cat #deaf #deafcat #deafcatsoftiktok #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #cutecat #catsoftiktok #catsofinstagram #cats #whitecat #foodie

♬ originalljud - Toffee & Tassilo

Deaf cats often get overlooked in shelters, which is honestly heartbreaking because they are just as capable of forming strong, loving bonds with their people. In many cases, they are even more visually attentive and tuned into their environment, which can make communication feel really special.

They can learn routines, hand signals, and visual cues surprisingly well, especially when those cues are consistent. Things like feeding time, playtime, or yes, even walks, can all be communicated without sound. It just takes a little patience and a willingness to meet them where they are.

Deaf cats also tend to be incredibly strong. They adapt in ways that are genuinely impressive, relying more on sight and vibration, and often forming deep trust with their humans because of that extra layer of communication.

This video is such a beautiful reminder that connection does not depend on hearing. It just depends on showing up, paying attention, and maybe learning a whole new way to say, “Ready for a walk?”

These Pet Sports Jerseys Are a Sneaky Good Gift Idea

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 11:24am

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Karma — the Coonhound, not the whole cause-and-effect principle — entered my life in August 2011, only months after the New York Jets reached the AFC Championship Game for the second straight year. Seeing as I made the excellent decision to voluntarily become a Jets fan, I made sure that Karma would properly share the Sunday experience with me and bought her a Jets shirt.

Incredibly, not only have the Jets not made the playoffs since the 2010 season, but they haven’t posted a winning season since 2015.

Well, for your sake, I hope you have better luck with your sports teams. If you or a pet parent you know is a die-hard fan, Fanatics has all sorts of adorable pet jerseys, including replica Travis Kelce and Shohei Ohtani jerseys, and they make for affordable gifts, too.

Over 100 Options to Choose From for Sports-Animal Lovers

Fanatics currently offers over 100 jerseys for six major sports leagues: MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, and NASCAR. Are you a Yankees fan ready for baseball season? You and your dog can match when Aaron Judge says “All Rise” and crushes a home run on Opening Night.

Or maybe you’re a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan still reminiscing about that dominant Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. Either way, Fanatics has something for most.

What to Know:
  • Most jerseys come in sizes ranging from XS to 2XL.
  • New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen are among the notable players with a replica jersey.
  • Please note: Not every team has a jersey at this time.

The Bottom Line: At this point, I’ve long since given up hope that the Jets will win a playoff game anytime soon. But as anyone who loves sports knows, we just keep coming back every year. If we’re going to put ourselves through misery while hoping for something incredible, both Dog and Dog Dad might as well be cozy while we do it.

In the world of Dachshunds, Cholito is checking all the right boxes. He's Dachshund-shaped with that low-slung, hot dog body, long ears, and a pronounced nose. But the half chestnut, half snow-colored face is everything! That's definitely not your typical Doxie!

Cholito has already captured the internet's collective heart, and many people have come up with their own funny comparisons as to who or what this precious pup looks like.

Whether the colors look like "wearing a muzzle and socks," or "running out of printer toner," Cholito sure is a one-of-a-kind boy who loves doing all the normal things pups do!

The sweet Dachshund obtained this unique, split-face coloring due to vitiligo. PetMD explains that the autoimmune condition happens when the skin loses natural pigmentation, turning light pink or white, often in splotches or patches. It's a condition still not fully understood, making the unique color patterns even more magical.

While considered harmless and not an emergency, vitiligo is usually hereditary and more likely in some breeds, such as Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Dachshunds (to name a few), and it usually shows up around the age of 2. It's not really preventable, and there's no way of knowing if your dog has it until you notice a loss of pigment.

The good news is, dogs with vitiligo aren't fazed and live long, happy lives. And if you end up with a cutie like Cholito, you might even have the next leading actor in an opera on your hands!

There is no question that these three dogs are the very best of friends, and it's no surprise to see two Saint Bernards getting along with a German Shepherd, according to experts.

The American Kennel Club describes Saint Bernard dogs as being "playful, charming, [and] inquisitive," and when you look at their family life profile, these guys land at the very top of the scale of "affectionate with family" into the "lovey-dovey" category, while also being the top of the "good with children" spectrum and approximately halfway up the "good with other dogs" spectrum, which is amazing.

When we look at German Shepherds, their stats in the family life profile exactly match those of Saint Bernards, so it's no surprise that these three are besties for life.

Pet Parents Are in Love With This Tiny Hair Removal Tool on Amazon

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Even if we were only driving 5 minutes down the road to go fishing, my pup Karma was an amazing co-pilot. She’d sit in the front seat, smile and pant, stick her head out the window, and love life.

There was only one problem: Karma was a shedder, and my passenger seat took a beating over the years. No matter how hard I tried, I would keep finding fur all over the car, and this was after she’d covered my blanket and couch in fur!

If you have a dog in your life, then you know my pain all too well. Luckily for us, Amazon has a mini pet hair remover for only $13 during its Big Spring Sale through March 31, and it’s quickly become a hit among pet parents.

This Tool Will Work Wonders on Your Car and Furniture
  • The mini pet hair remover comes in a triangular shape, and you only need to “glide” it across anything from furniture and bedding to car seats.
  • Although it comes in seven (7) colors, only the black and orange ones are on sale. However, the black one is the cheapest.
  • As always, Amazon offers free shipping to Prime members.

This mini pet hair remover has an impressive 4.6-star rating, with 77% of shoppers leaving a perfect score. This tool is gaining momentum, with over 4,000 sales on Amazon in the last month.

Shoppers Say…
  • “This is the only pet hair remover that has actually worked! Very easy to use and pet hair comes off quickly with minimal time and effort.”
  • “I have a beagle mix and watch my friends and family’s dogs and needed a solution for the shedding and the dog hair that would get embedded in the car’s floor areas, and this works so well! I’m buying some for my friends and family!”

The Bottom Line: It’s an understatement to say that getting rid of fur is a pain, so I love reading all the positive feedback about this tool. Many of the reviews praise how easy the Analan is to use, as well as its ability to make used items look brand new. It sounds like a winner to me, especially as we start approaching the summer — and, if your dog is like Karma, then you’ll be running into pet hair all day, every day.

Cat Brings Home Stray As 'One Night Stand' and the Outcome Has Us Cracking Up

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 10:10am

My dogs can be a bit territorial at times. They don't mind if another dog comes over to visit, but sleepovers are crossing the line. I'm sure my Dachshund and my Pug mix would come to accept another fur baby in the house, but it would definitely take time.

This gray cat spearheaded the idea of adding another feline to the house when he brought home a stray kitty, and now he's having second thoughts.

@ceefitton

Grumpy boy 😂 #catsoftiktok

♬ Grumpy cat - Internet Cultura

In the TikTok from @ceefitton, a black-and-gray striped cat ate out of a bowl on the dining room table. The pretty kitty looked perfectly comfortable noshing on the table top, almost like she had her meals there every day.

The camera panned over to a gray cat huddled against the couch, giving the other feline a downright death stare.

"POV your cat brings home a stray and now that she's part of the family he absolutely hates her," the onscreen text explained, with the caption adding, "Grumpy boy."

The gray cat obviously didn't realize he was gaining a new resident when he brought the feline friend home. He probably assumed she would stay for a snack and then be on her way. His angry expression spoke volumes on his feelings regarding his unexpected predicament.

Why the Change of Heart?

The social media post didn't give a specific reason, such as an argument or an annoying habit, for the cat's sudden shift in feelings. Followers suspected a romantic entanglement that went awry.

"He wanted a one-night stand and you made it into a marriage," one speculated.

"I don’t think he was looking for anything long term," another remarked.

"He said, 'Your Uber’s outside'," a follower joked.

"That was his one-night stand. Now she's family. Of course it's awkward," someone pointed out.

"Bro, you never bring the girl home to the family too early," a fan noted.

The female feline appeared oblivious to the negative vibes coming from the gray cat. Time will tell if she's able to win over the cranky kitty.

Maine Coon Mom Cat Adopts Tiny Foster Puppy and Starts Nursing Her

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:55am

There are some animal stories that feel almost too gentle for the internet, like you want to sit with them for a second before the chaos comes rushing back in. This one starts with a tiny puppy who was not doing so hot, the kind of situation that usually goes one of two ways, and neither of them feels great.

But then something unexpected starts happening. And it keeps happening, even after someone tries to stop it.

@mossycottagemainecoons

One of the quiet rewards of being a breeder who’s also involved in rescue is getting to witness moments like this. People often act like ethical breeding and rescue live on opposite sides of the fence. In reality, they’re both rooted in the same thing: caring deeply about animals and doing what’s best for them. Sometimes that looks like carefully planning healthy, well raised litters. Sometimes it looks like stepping in to help the vulnerable ones who need a little extra support. Either way, the goal is the same. And every now and then… you get a reminder of why it all matters. #mossycottagemainecoons #mainecoon #animalrescue #fosterpuppy #catmom

♬ sonido original - Rocío Alvarez Creaciones Digit

TikTok user @mossycottagemainecoons shared the beautiful video, explaining that the tiny black foster puppy arrived fading and too weak to compete with her larger litter. The plan was to step in and bottle-feed her until she gained strength, just enough to give her a chance.

Related: Tabby Cat Steals Newborn Puppies and Decides They’re Her Babies

But the Maine Coon mom in the home had other ideas. Not once, but twice, the puppy was found tucked into her nest with her newborn kittens. Each time she was removed, and each time she somehow made her way back. At a certain point, it stops feeling like a coincidence and starts feeling like a decision. That's her baby now.

Then things shift in a way that honestly feels like a miracle. The Maine Coon begins grooming her, caring for her, and eventually even nursing the puppy alongside her own kittens. Slowly, the little puppy starts to fight again. She gets stronger. She stabilizes. And when she is finally ready, she returns to her actual litter to learn how to be a dog.

People in the comments were completely emotional over it, and not even trying to hide it. One person wrote, “She knew exactly what that baby needed! My Maine Coon mix is definitely a rescuer and momma cat to all baby animals and animals in need.” Another said, “This is the sweetest thing I've ever seen,” which feels accurate on a cellular level.

Others were just in awe of the moment, with comments like, “This is incredible. Thank you for sharing her story with us!” and “What a lesson we could all take from this,” which… yeah. That one lingers a bit. Someone else added, “No babies go hungry around that mama,” and honestly, that might be the whole story right there.

Also, quick aside, Meatball (my Maine Coon cat) would absolutely try to adopt something deeply unhelpful like a loaf of bread and then act personally betrayed when I intervened, so this level of maternal focus is impressive to me.

Why Cats Sometimes Care for Other Animals @mhanimalrescue

Sapphire has no milk for some reason. I am syringe feeding kittens and bunny #bunny #cat #kittens #love #takeaNAIRbreak #happy #kittycat #orphanbunny

♬ Good Day - Nappy Roots

Cats, especially mother cats, can have incredibly strong maternal instincts that are not always limited to their own kittens. When hormones are active after giving birth, that caregiving drive can extend to other small, vulnerable animals that trigger the same response.

It's not that the cat understands species differences in the way humans do. It is more about cues. Size, sound, movement, and vulnerability can all signal “baby” to a nursing cat, and once that switch flips, the behavior can be surprisingly consistent.

Situations like this are not super usual, but they are not unheard of either. When they do happen, it is usually because the environment feels safe and the animal is already in a caregiving state. Add in a persistent little puppy who keeps ending up back in the nest, and sometimes instinct just wins.

Adorable Puppy’s Obsession With One Stick Turns Into Pure Chaos

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:48am

Every dog parent has seen this situation unfold: a dog locks onto something random—a leaf, a shadow, an oddly shaped rock. And in a second, that object turns into the most interesting thing on the planet and the dog goes crazy trying to get it.

These episodes of chaos don’t mean something is wrong. Rather, these types of over-the-top reactions are often a sign of a healthy, stimulated puppy, and a recent video posted online shows just how fun and funny that chaos can be.

In a recent video shared on social media platform Reddit, we see exactly how young dogs can hilariously fail to regulate those emotions. What looks like chaos is actually enthusiasm without brakes.

As his parent explained, Mango is an 8-month-old cocker spaniel, and he literally screams when he sees a stick. In the video, his stick is stuck in a bush—one that is a lot bigger than him. Mango tries to go around the bush to get his stick, but fails. Then, fully determined, he decides to jump onto the bush and get his stick.

The best part? This wasn’t even a regular habit. This was a brand-new obsession, which his parent saw for the first time and decided it was worth sharing with the world. Well, thank you Reddit for bringing a smile to our face.

What Are Fans Saying About It?

Fans instantly recognized Mango’s enthusiasm and loved the energy he brings. One person commented, “Mango is the proud owner of the most awesomest stick!” Other people posted “Mango is hysterical. Does he have a fan club? I will join!” and “Lively little dude! I laughed at your other dog with his back turned to him, trying to ignore the shenanigans.”

Some people posted that they understood that cocker spaniel energy. One person said, “I have a cockapoo and the spaniel side is strong with mine... I recognize the goofiness right away. Literally jumping through hoops for any stick/ball. Endless source of entertainment.”

Why Dogs Get Obsessed With Sticks

For dogs, sticks are more than toys. They stimulate several of their instincts, providing plenty of fun and mental stimulation.

First, they mimic prey. The size, the texture, even the way they snap or move when picked up can trigger a dog’s natural hunting and chewing behaviors. Puppies are wired to explore the world through their mouths, and sticks are everywhere.

Second, sticks are unpredictable. Unlike a store-bought toy, no two are the same. One might be brittle and crunchy. Another might be heavy and hard to drag. That unpredictability keeps a dog engaged.

There’s also a simple reward loop at play. When a dog fixates on an object and keeps trying, their brain releases small bursts of dopamine. Even failing to get the stick can make the behavior repeat, especially in high-energy breeds like cocker spaniels.

That’s why Mango doesn’t just walk away. He tries to jump into the bush to get his stick.

When to Step In and When to Laugh

Moments like this are funny, but they’re also a chance to guide behavior.

If your dog gets fixated like Mango, calling them away, redirecting with a toy or turning it into a quick training moment can help build focus. The goal isn’t to stop the excitement. It’s to teach them how to come back from it.

Still, sometimes it’s OK to just watch it unfold and laugh because one day that wild, screaming puppy energy settles down, and you might actually miss the days when a single stick could make their entire world explode.

Boxer Begging to Go Relax on the Patio With Her iPad Is Legit All of Us

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 9:28am

Some dogs want to go outside and run around. Princess Poppy the Boxer wants to go outside, get some sun and judge the neighbors while watching Paw Patrol. Sounds like the perfect Saturday morning to me.

There's a TikTok where Princess Poppy's making her intentions extremely clear: she wants to go outside on the patio. But not just go on the patio—she has requirements.

The caption reads, "A girl needs her hat and iPad 💞," which honestly undersells the whole situation taking place.

The POV text: "You want to go on the patio with your hat and iPad" and that's exactly what's transpiring.

@princess.poppyyy

♬ original sound - Princess Poppy

Mom asks Poppy: "Do you want to go on the patio?"

Princess Poppy's response involves howling and "talking" until her voice is heard. Her look says stop asking questions you already know the answer to and open the door.

Mom’s pampering continues,"You need your hat. Here."

"You want your iPad, Mama? Get it. Come on."

Princess Poppy's getting very impatient with all this back-and-forth. Let's go, mom. Stop dilly-dallying.

Finally the patio door opens to reveal her bed and hat already waiting for her.

Now she's set up. PJs? Check. Sun hat? Check. Lovey? Check. She's situated herself like some elderly gentleman on a park bench, ready to people-watch and judge each and every passersby.

Mom lays out the rules: "If you want to stay out here, you cannot be a Karen. Cars are allowed to drive by and people are outside walking cause it's a nice day. So, we're gonna be nice to everyone or you're gonna lose your patio privileges."

Princess Poppy's holding court from her perch; sunbathing and watching Paw Patrol on her iPad. Judging her unknowing subjects.

Then she gives mom the ‘step to’ look. "My snack?"

Mom immediately brings popcorn because honestly, who wouldn’t. Everything’s better with popcorn.

All is good in the world and Princess Poppy continues to reign supreme over her beloved sunshine land.

The comments are busting with people who recognize this Boxer energy.

"We just went through this… The angry snuffing and huffing is too funny 🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣 And btw, you don't take privileges from grandog. She and grandma will take privileges from you… I said what I said… All my love, Grandma"

"Omg, patio privileges!"

"She's the Queen 🤴," slay Princess Poppy. Slay.

Boxers Are Devoted, Expressive Dogs Who Form Deep Bonds With Their Families

Here's why Princess Poppy's whole demanding diva routine makes sense: Boxers are completely, unapologetically devoted to their people. They don't just tolerate humans—they're genuinely obsessed with being involved in everything their families do.They know they are an intregal part of the family unity.

Boxers are expressive dogs. They don't hide what they're feeling, at all. Their directness is one of my absolute favorite thing about my Boxer and Boxers as a breed. Happy? Their whole body wiggles. Want something? They'll let you know. Repeatedly. With sound effects.

That devotion extends to wanting specific things done specific ways. Princess Poppy knows what team work makes the dream work and she wants: mom’s help, patio, hat, iPad and snacks. And she's comfortable with letting everyone within earshot know that.

Boxers are also very in tune to their families' moods and feelings and respond beautifully to affection. They're patient, warm, loving and endlessly entertaining. Princess Poppy sitting there in her sun hat watching Paw Patrol while eating popcorn? Not only is it peak Boxer behavior, these gentle loving creatures deserve nothing less.

She's not being difficult. She's being a Boxer. Devoted, expressive, specific about her comfort, and absolutely certain that her needs should be met.

The patio privileges stand. Princess Poppy has spoken.

Rescue Cat Likes To Be ‘Dribbled Like a Basketball’ and We Can’t Get Over It

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 8:59am

Cats are so weird. They all have their weird little things, but some of them are definitely a little weirder than others. Rescue cats in particular often develop strange little quirks, and sometimes, it's those exact quirks that really help them get adopted!

For example, this rescue cat. Her quirk is that she loves when people dribble her like a basketball. They marketed it as, "She likes rough pets," but like, come on. That cat wants to be a basketball so bad:

@yeastybeasties

she just keeps coming back for more 😭😭 #cat #fyp #catsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Yeasty Beasties

CeeCee the Rescue Cat is one of the cutest cats ever. She's having the most fun ever with her dribbling, and she deserves it! How precious is she?!

Related: Mama Cat Gives Birth the Morning of Her Spay and Her Kittens Are Little Balls of Happiness

CeeCee was rescued semi-recently, and the shelter made it very clear that this cat enjoys "rough petting." Her new dad assumed that just meant that he would need to literally just pet her a little harder, but no. What she actually likes is being dribbled like a basketball.

The way her tail shakes when he does it is so funny! Some people in the comments were a little bit concerned that she actually didn't like it, but did you see her? She keeps coming back for more! One thing about cats is that they're never going to stay somewhere they don't want to be. When she's not in basketball mode, she's pretending to be a parrot:

@yeastybeasties

She climbs us daily. We are her cat tree.. #cat #catsoftiktok #fyp

♬ original sound - Yeasty Beasties

To be clear, she has cat trees. She is very well-loved, and she has everything she needs. Climbing a cat tree just isn't as fun!

Why Do Cats Love Rough Pets?

We all love our pets, and it's natural to want to be gentle with them. Everyone says you should, but some cats (and dogs) really seem to like it when you're a little rougher while petting them! It's so weird!

Orange stray cat getting pets.

Rough petting does a lot of things you might not expect for cats, like:

  • Activates their hunting instincts, providing mental stimulation.
  • Provides comfort and reminds them of when their mamas used to groom them as kittens.
  • Hits their nerves just right, which releases endorphins.

Now, rough petting does not mean you can slap them around or anything. It simply means that you should try patting them firmly: most cats prefer this on their backsides, and some pats just above the base of the tail. Gradually, you might be able to shoot a 3-pointer with them! CeeCee is definitely almost there!

Chocolate Lab Is the Best Protector to 'His Baby': 'This Has My Whole Heart'

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 7:17am

Getting your dog ready for a new baby can be a very stressful event in a multitude of ways. Will they be gentle with the baby? Will they adjust to splitting your attention? Do they realize you still love them? Will they accept this tiny human being you brought into their world as part of their pack?

Millie Mae the Chocolate Labrador had a different approach: immediate ownership. The baby was hers.

There's a TikTok where Millie Mae's sitting on the couch next to “the baby”, and her entire vibe says, "this is mine now!" The caption reads "Best friends already" but honestly the tone feels more like, "This is my baby and I'm in charge of protecting them."

The text overlay confirms it: "This is the dog's baby."

@kayleeefrey

♬ Psalm 95 - Instrumental - Poor Bishop Hooper

Millie Mae's cuddled up right next to that baby, standing guard, making it very clear she's taken responsibility for this little human's safety.

Ms. Millie Mae's got this. She's on duty, therefore, the  baby's safe. No worries, everything is under control.

The comments are full of fans whose hearts are melting.

"Oh, this has my whole heart 🥹😍," captured the universal reaction.

"This is so so sweet!!🥹," it really is.

Related: Golden Retriever Overcome With Pure Joy Reuniting With Mom After 2 Days Apart

Millie Mae's not being aggressive or in the least bit overbearing. She's just existing. Directly, next to the baby. Watching. Alert. MIllie is gentle but still, clearly protective. This is her baby now, and she's taking that job extremely seriously.

Labrador Retrievers Are Loyal Dogs Who Form Deep Protective Bonds With Their Families

Here's why Millie Mae's behavior makes total sense: Labs bond incredibly strongly with their families. That loyalty runs deep, and when they sense someone—especially tiny and vulnerable human beings—in need of looking after, that protective instinct kicks in to high gear.

Labs aren't what you’d expect of as a traditional guard dog. They are not naturally aggressive or intimidating in the least. But, their loyalty? That's real and it’s spectacular. Their sheer size alone—a large dog sitting protectively next to a tiny baby—has genuine deterrent value. I know I’d think twice before even looking at Millie.

What makes Chocolate Labs especially good with babies is their easy-going temperament. They're warm, adaptable, and naturally gentle. They're pay attention to what's going on around them and will absolutely notice if something feels off. They trust their intuition, but they're not going to overreact or become unpredictable around visitors.

Millie Mae sitting there calmly and patiently next to that baby, just watching and being present? That's the story of a Lab doing exactly what they do. They're loyal, tender companions who take their place in the family seriously without being overly aggressive about it all.

That baby's got a protector. Not because Millie Mae's mean or scary but because she loves that baby and considers them part of her pack. Labs protect their pack at all costs.

The "this is the dog's baby" text overlay isn't wrong. Millie Mae's claimed this tiny human. She's gentle, she's watchful, and she isn’t going anywhere.

Best friends already? Of course,  but also, bodyguard the tiny human. Guardian and the one being guarded.

Millie Mae's on duty, and that baby couldn't be safer.

Dogs Boarding Bus for Home Is Exactly Like Wrangling Kids At the End of a School Day

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 7:12am

Our furry friends from the K9 Konvoy doggie daycare bus are back and funnier than ever. This time, though, we get to see what it's like supervising the boarding process at the end of their outdoor playtime, and the resemblance to corralling children onto their buses at the end of a school day is uncanny. The dogs bark orders (or are they complaints?) at one another while clamoring onto the steps of the bus, causing a bottleneck of pups at the entrance. One by one, they make their way down the aisle, some holding up the line looking for their favorite buddy or testing out different seats. Others seem totally confused, as if they are new to riding the bus, despite being regulars. Two dogs in particular decide that the driver's seat is their spot of choice.

"Y'all can't sit in the front," says their fearless leader when she sees the two sharing her captain's chair.

Based on this entertaining video, I think the idiom "like herding cats" might be more accurate as "wrangling dogs."

Honestly, I could watch videos like this all day long. And viewers seem to agree in the comments.

As one fan correctly claims, "This is literally the best reality show on TV right now."

"That's some happy chaos," says another.

These pups must go home to their families good and tired, just like young children after a long day of using their brains and burning out their social batteries at school. But just like not all kids are suited for every school, not all dogs are cut out for group daycare.

Which Dogs Are Best Suited to Daycare?

Dogs that thrive in daycare are typically social, high-energy, and confident, such as Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and Poodles. These breeds often enjoy constant interaction, playtime, and regular exercise.

Labs and Goldens are basically the overachievers of daycare. They’re friendly, easygoing, and happy to spend the day running around with new people and dogs.

Then you’ve got breeds like Poodles, Beagles, and Corgis, who are smart, active, and need both mental and physical stimulation—otherwise they’ll find their own “projects” at home (usually not the kind you want).

High-energy working and herding breeds—like Border Collies, Huskies, and German Shepherds—also tend to do well, mostly because they need something to do. Daycare gives them an outlet so they’re not pacing the house or inventing chaos later.

Even smaller dogs like Jack Russell Terriers can thrive in daycare, as long as they’re social—they may be tiny, but their energy absolutely is not.

It’s less about the exact breed, however, and more about personality. Dogs that enjoy other dogs, like activity, and can handle a busy environment are usually the ones who love daycare. Dogs that are more anxious, reactive, or low-energy might prefer a quieter setup.

Story of 7 Stolen Dogs Escaping and Making Trek Home Together Has the Internet Obsessed

Wed, 03/25/2026 - 7:10am

Dogs are pack animals by nature. They instinctively look out for each other and stick together through thick and thin. I've seen it with my own two dogs — if my Dachshund isn't feeling well, her Pug brother stays by her side until she's ready to play again. When my Pug is overexcited and needs help calming down, his Doxie sister comes alongside him with a gentle reprimand to get him settled.

This group of seven dogs faced a traumatic challenge when they were stolen from their parents, but they made their way back home with no dog left behind.

@mustsharenews

They reportedly did not split up at any point during their journey home. #mustsharenews #china #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - MustShareNews - MustShareNews

The TikTok from @mustsharenews shared the amazing story of the pack of pooches, which appeared to include Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a German Shepherd. A Corgi seemed to take the lead and watched over the entire group, so no one got lost.

"On March 16, seven dogs in Jilin, China, traveled around 17km (almost 11 miles) back to their village after escaping from a dog thief," the onscreen text explained as the pack of canines huddled on the side of the road. "The dogs were stolen from three different households and intended for slaughter at a dog meat shop."

The courageous canines were somehow able to escape from the moving truck that held them hostage and made a break for it on the Changshuang Expressway.

As the dogs walked along the side of the road, they stayed together as a group. If one pooch slowed down, the rest waited for them to catch up. Miraculously, all dogs were safely returned to their parents with only minor injuries. They were able to navigate dangerous traffic and unknown terrain by sticking together.

Pack Took Care of Injured German Shepherd

A German Shepherd appeared to be injured from the escape. According to People, online viewers noted how the dogs surrounded the Shepherd to keep him in the center of the pack, safely supported throughout the journey.

The dogs were seen crossing fields and finding their way through streets while staying in a close cluster. Local rescuers later revealed that the canines are from the same village and frequently play together.

Thanks to their courage, resilience, and unwavering friendship, all seven dogs made it home safely and are in good condition. Their bravery and loyalty to each other are a wonderful example of a dog's dedication and devotion to others.
