‘Saved by the Bell’ Star Tiffani Thiessen’s Daughter Looks Just Like Her Mom at the Same Age
Tiffani Thiessen, who rose to stardom as Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell, has a twin in her lookalike daughter, Harper.
Thiessen, 52, played the iconic Bayside High cheerleader on the beloved teen sitcom from 1989 to 1993, and continued her role as Kapowski on the short-lived series Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Her character finally married Zack Morris in Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas in 1994. (Yes, over 30 years ago!) Of course, her post-Saved by the Bell years led Thiessen not too far away from Bayside High. She landed on Beverly Hills, 90210 as the troublemaker Valerie Malone, where she caused chaos for 5 seasons before departing. These days, Thiessen is thriving as a social media influencer and actress known for sharing her delicious recipes online. A proud mama, she just shared photos from her family’s summer vacation, and Harper is a dead ringer for her TV star mother.
“Summer 2026☀️ From Hawaii to Maine and everything in between. ☀️A memorable summer it was ♥️,” Thiessen captioned the photo set, which showed a series of sweet family photos.

Thiessen Loves When People Say She Hasn’t Changed a BitAs Thiessen shared in a hilarious Instagram reel, she certainly doesn’t mind comments that she hasn’t aged a day since her days on 90210.
“When someone says I look the same as I did on 90210,” Thiessen wrote on her reel, which showed her pretending to be humble before showing off her best face for the camera as a fan blew wind in her face. “Who me???? ☺️”.
View this post on Instagram Will They Reboot Saved by the Bell Again?Saved by the Bell was back in action… for a short amount of time, at least. A reboot of the series aired on Peacock for two seasons from November 2020 to December 2021, and starred Thiessen as her beloved character, who was still married to her longtime love, Zack Morris. However, the reboot didn’t stick. When asked if she thought another one was possible, Thiessen spoke candidly.
“I don’t think so. I think they tried it,” she told PEOPLE last year. Even though it didn’t last, Thiessen made it clear she “loved the reboot.”
“It only lasted two seasons, sadly,” she added. “[But] who knows? There are other shows that are in my sort of realm that are further along in possibly getting a reboot.”
Legendary Rock Musician From ELO Turns 75
Mik Kaminski is a musician who is most well-known for playing violin in Electric Light Orchestra. He was part of the rock band from 1973 until 1980, when he was fired along with Hugh McDowell and Melvyn Gale, because Jeff Lynn was hoping to take the band in a more modern direction.
However, Kaminski was still touring with the band from 1981 to 1986. He then became a member of Electric Light Orchestra Part II from 1991 until 2000, and The Orchestra from 2000 until 2026. Today, he turns 75.
Kaminski originally got his start in the iconic band after answering an advert in Melody Maker magazine, which was a weekly British magazine for musicians. Kaminski was the only person who auditioned for the band who did not play a single note incorrectly and ended up getting the job.

In an interview, when he was asked whether he believed he was influencing young musicians to play the violin instead of the guitar, he gave a humble answer, saying, “That’s hard to say. The violin in ELO is used more as a classical instrument rather than rock.”
Kaminski also spoke about a comment that John Lennon made in 1974, when he claimed he’d seen the next Beatles, and they were ELO. Kaminski said, “He probably meant that if the Beatles were around today, that is how they would’ve sounded. Musically, there are similarities that crop up, and people keep referring to it.”

ELO holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 hits for a band without ever reaching the top spot. 20 of their songs have made it onto the charts, including “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Telephone Line,” “Mr. Blue Sky,” and “Evil Woman.”
In addition to playing in the Electric Light Orchestra, Kaminski was also part of the band Violinski. They had a hit with a song called “Clog Dance.”
Major Change Coming to NBC’s No. 1 True-Crime Franchise
The real “FOMO” is staying in, grabbing some snacks, pouring a glass of wine, and deep-diving into the latest Dateline episode.
That’s why Dateline is NBC’s No. 1 true-crime franchise. Airing Friday nights, while others are out at bars forgetting what happened the night before, who could forget an intriguing whodunit?
Ready to kick off its 35th season, longtime anchor Lester Holt revealed in an interview a major change coming to the popular series that’s well on its way to a four-decade run.

In the day and age of doom-scrolling, you know you have a hit on your hands when fans want to extend the runtime rather than shorten it.
Dateline will be rolling out more two-hour episodes, something Holt said “we know the audience really likes.”
Fans simply can’t get enough, nor are the folks behind the scenes slowing down, as he went on to say, “We’re excited about next season,” with the whole crew ready to get back to work as Season 35 gets underway with hopes of continuing its epic run as the “best storytellers out there.”
Additionally, Holt is launching his own podcast, Before & After with Lester Holt. The six-episode series will put him across the mic from guests including Colin Kaepernick, Jeremy Renner and Adrianne Haslet for candid conversations about experiences that dramatically altered the course of their lives.

Of that bunch, Renner may be the most compelling to hear from, as he detailed to famed podcaster Joe Rogan last year how his nearly fatal snowplow accident left him with dozens of broken bones and an injury so gruesome he could see his own eyeball with his other eye — all after trying to save his nephew. Now that’s a Dateline episode in the making if we’ve ever heard one…
The new podcast is set to debut September 14, while Dateline is slated to return soon after, September 25, to kick off your weekend glued to a new mystery.

Beloved PBS Series to Return for 25th Season This Fall
After making more than 1,000 house calls to help fix what’s broken, the resourceful team behind PBS’ beloved series Ask This Old House says there will never be a shortage of homeowner questions to address. So it’s a good thing they’re returning to address even more!
On Tuesday, September 1, PBS announced the show has been renewed for a whopping 25th season, scheduled to premiere on October 1. Kevin O’Connor has served as host the entire time, and wouldn’t think of missing the DIY home renovation show’s silver anniversary.
“The best part of this job is watching somebody realize they can do it themselves,” O’Connor said in a statement. “Twenty-five seasons in, that hasn’t changed. Homeowners keep asking, and we keep showing up. We’re not just fixing houses – we’re building confident homeowners.”
The Emmy-winning DIY show has been filmed at over 1,000 homes in all 50 states, two foreign countries, and even at NASA‘s Johnson Space Center, per PBS. In each episode, a team of experts visits real-life homeowners who need help solving everything from plumbing problems to landscaping issues to renovation crises.
General Contractor Tom Silva has been making those house calls during all 25 seasons, so the team is jokingly calling the show’s silver anniversary the “Silva” anniversary season. He’s not the only familiar face returning, though.
According to PBS, the following experts are all coming back for Season 25: Plumbing and Heating Expert Richard Trethewey, Landscape Contractor Jenn Nawada, Mason Mark McCullough, Master Electrician Heath Eastman, Painter Mauro Henrique, Carpenter Nathan Gilbert, Building Engineer Ross Trethewey, Landscaper Lee Gilliam, and General Contractor Zack Dettmore.
View this post on InstagramExecutive producer Sarah Chasse, who’s been with the show since 2014, said in a statement that Ask This Old House “has always evolved with the homeowners we serve.”
“The way people learn, watch and ask questions has changed dramatically over 25 seasons,” she said, “And we’ve evolved with them – from how we film and tell stories to the ways people can access our experts and information. What hasn’t changed is the heart of the show: meeting homeowners where they are, working alongside them and giving them the confidence to take that next step.”
Ask This Old House is a spinoff of its even longer-running predecessor, This Old House, which was renewed earlier this year for a 48th season. Both series will return with new episodes on Thursday, October 1 (check local listings for times) and will be available to stream on The Roku Channel beginning on Monday, October 5.
The team behind the show hopes 25 is their lucky number, since the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on October 30. Ask This Old House won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Program in 2019, and is up for two awards in 2026: Outstanding Instructional / How-To Program and Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Non-Fiction Series.
Most-Watched TV Episode on NBC Aired in 1993 and Marked the End of an Era
People love The Office episode where Stanley has a heart attack, so Michael works to relieve stress around the office, and the tear-jerker series finale of Friends, when Monica finally leaves that awesome purple apartment and moves to the ‘burbs with Chandler.
But neither of these episodes was the most-watched in NBC’s history. That prize goes to a sitcom that came before them both.
Collider looked at the 7 most-watched episodes of television in NBC history and laid them out in a list format, so they’re easy to digest. Friends actually makes the list twice, and you’ll also find Seinfeld and Frasier, but the No. 1 slot goes to a 1993 episode of Cheers.
Actually, “One for the Road” was the 275th episode of the series and its forever finale. Cheers ran for 11 years and starred actors who are big even by 2026 standards: Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Woody Harrelson, Rhea Perlman, Kelsey Grammer (Frasier was a Cheers spinoff).
The show — which was mostly set in a bar — was relatable by today’s standards, too. Folks would find their favorite Boston watering hole at the end of a long, hard day and let off some steam with a glass of their choice beverage. Who hasn’t done that?
It was where people from different walks of life could find common ground: At the bar. It also touched on controversial topics like (at the time) homosexuality and addiction.
Cheers had a cult following, so when it was time to say goodbye to bartender Sam Malone and the gang, everyone wanted to be there to pay their respects. Per Collider, Season 26, Ep. 11 pulled in a staggering 93.5 million viewers when it aired on May 20, 1993.
It was like nothing television had seen before and fell second only to the series finale of M*A*S*H on CBS (1983). It was extra special because several of its stars who had left for whatever reasons — like Long — returned for one last episode.
Friends is lucky it came after Cheers, or it might not have been as popular — that show about 6 friends and their lives in New York City premiered on Sept. 22, 1994, more than a year later. Cheers is frequently cited as one of the greatest television shows of all time.
Tiger Woods Enters Plea Agreement Following Florida Rollover Crash
Tiger Woods struck a plea deal in his DUI case following his rollover crash near his Jupiter Island home on March 27.
He initially entered a plea of not guilty, but ultimately changed his plea to no contest after the defense and the prosecution came to an agreement, with Woods’ DUI charge being reduced to reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful chemical or physical test.
As part of the agreement, Woods has his driver’s license suspended for five years and has also agreed to pay $1,500 in fines.
“If you drive for any reason at all, you will be going back to jail,” the judge told the golf legend, per Page Six.
Woods was joined at the hearing by his attorney, Douglas Duncan, and his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump.
Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI and refusal to submit to a lawful test on March 27 after he was involved in a rollover crash near his Jupiter Island home in Florida. He told authorities at the time that he was looking down at his cellphone and changing the radio station, which led to the crash. However, in the arrest affidavit, Martin County Sheriff Deputy Tatiana Levenar said he was “sweating profusely,” and his movement was “lethargic and slow,” ESPN reports. While his Breathalyzer test didn’t show signs of alcohol on the day of the crash, Woods refused to submit to a urinalysis or blood test for other drugs. Two hydrocodone pills were found in Woods’ pants pocket the arrest affidavit added.
Following the crash, Woods announced that he was going to step away from golf for a “period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” also going on to spend time at an inpatient treatment facility in Switzerland.
Wayfair’s 'Super Cute' and 'Sturdy' Outdoor Side Table Is Nearly 80% Off Ahead of Labor Day
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Fall can be one of the nicest times to use your outdoor space. If your patio setup is missing somewhere to put your coffee or a book, Wayfair’s Highland Dunes Allurine Outdoor Side Table is super discounted for Labor Day. The blue version is currently just $58, down from $259, which is nearly 80% off and more than $200 in savings. Prices vary by color, and six options are available right now: black, blue, gray, navy blue, teak, and white.
The round table measures 18 inches wide by 18 inches deep and just under 18 inches high, making it compact enough to tuck between patio chairs without taking up much room. It weighs 13 pounds but has a surprisingly high 360-pound weight capacity. It also has a handy lower shelf, and it’s designed to resist water, UV rays, fading, rust, chipping, and other outdoor wear.
Highland Dunes Allurine Outdoor Side Table, From $58 (was $259) at Wayfair Shop at WayfairThis compact table is perfect if you want the look of a classic outdoor wood table without the maintenance that often comes with it. The material is designed not to rot or splinter, and all you need to clean it is a little soap and water. Its two-tier design also gives you more room than a standard side table without a much bigger footprint, so you can put drinks and snacks up top while keeping a planter or outdoor essentials on the shelf underneath.
One reviewer said the material “looks like wood and I doubt anyone would notice it’s not wood,” adding, “This table is very sturdy.” Another called it “super cute and easy to put together.” And a third shopper who had owned theirs since the previous summer said it was “heavy enough that you won’t ever have to worry about it being blown over but light enough to be easily moved.”
There are lots of ways you could use this little table, whether you decide to keep it outside or move it in. You could place it between two Adirondack chairs or rockers, add a cute lantern or potted mum on the bottom shelf, or leave it as is so you always have an open space for knick-knacks. And because the table is just 18 inches across, it can fit on smaller porches, balconies, and patios without crowding the seating area.

Mandy Moore Says Her Son Loves Her 1999 Song, Which She Released When She Was Only 15
Mandy Moore has three children with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, who is a singer, songwriter, and producer. She recently opened up to PEOPLE about her oldest child’s love of music and revealed he is a fan of her song “Candy.” The tune came from her 1999 album, So Real, which she released when she was only 15.
“I don’t know how or why because I would not play that for him, but now he wants to hear it in the car,” she said. “I’ve had to put a moratorium on it. I’m like, ‘Bud, I don’t want to hear it every day.’ He’s like, ‘Why?’ I’m like, ‘It’s just not my favorite.’ Hearing it every once in a while is a total fun little bop and stroll down memory lane.”
She continued, “He’s like, ‘I’m the same age that you were when you made that song.’ I was like, ‘No, you’re five, but you are closer probably to that age than I am to that age.’ So it’s pretty funny that he can make that distinction.”

“Candy” currently has 24 million views on YouTube. One listener said, “The fact that she went on to be both a Disney villain and Disney princess, PLUS Emmy winner, is just fantastic. Love Mandy.” Another said, “There are people out there who only know Mandy Moore as an actress, and that’s crazy.”
During her interview, Moore also spoke about the possibility that her son will get into the music industry himself when he’s older. “We have a little songwriter in our midst,” she said. “Our oldest has already written his first album. There’s nine songs. It’s only 21 minutes long, but he wants to listen to it in the car.”

She continued, “[Gus] makes up these songs, and then he wants to listen back to them. It’s so much fun. He’s definitely inspired by Dad, for sure.”
Moore continues to act and release music. Her most recent album, Real Life, was released in 2022.
Delta Just Launched a Rare Credit Card Offer That Lands You Guaranteed Delta Comfort+ Seats
If you’ve spent any time trying to redeem airline miles lately, you know the quiet frustration of playing seat roulette. You finally find award availability, only to realize the miles barely cover basic economy, leaving you crammed into a middle seat in the very back row with your knees wedged against the tray table.
Delta Air Lines and American Express are taking a refreshingly different approach with their latest limited-time promotion, and it comes down to a perk flyers rarely see handed out for free: guaranteed extra legroom.
Through November 4, eligible new cardholders who sign up for the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card can earn two round-trip Delta Comfort flight certificates, plus 50,000 bonus miles, after spending $10,000 in purchases over their first six months.

Delta
Instead of dumping a generic lump sum of points into your account and leaving you to navigate dynamic pricing charts or settle for standard coach, the offer directly upgrades your flying experience. Delta Comfort seats give you up to three extra inches of legroom, dedicated overhead bin space so you never have to gate-check your carry-on bag, early boarding, and complimentary beer and wine on most routes.
The certificate terms are surprisingly flyer-friendly, too. You can use them on Delta-operated round-trip flights across the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands with zero blackout dates, as long as you book at least 21 days in advance. Standard government taxes and fees apply up to $80 per traveler, but considering cross-country Comfort seats routinely price out at $400 to $700 each during peak getaway windows, locking in two confirmed seats in the front half of the main cabin delivers substantial upfront value before you even touch the 50,000 banked miles.

For travelers who prefer a lower spending threshold, the promotion extends to the rest of the Delta Amex family with elevated mile-and-cash perks. The Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card offers up to 90,000 bonus miles plus a $300 statement credit after spending $4,000 in six months, while the Gold Card offers up to 80,000 bonus miles and a $250 statement credit for spending $3,000.
What really makes these cards work for everyday travelers beyond the initial welcome offer is how easily they chip away at annoying airport fees. Cardholders save 15% on any award flight booked through Delta’s website or app, receive their second checked bag free on domestic routes, and get an automatic $2,500 MQD headstart on Platinum and Reserve cards to fast-track elite Medallion status.
If you are plotting a fall foliage road trip connection, a cross-country holiday flight, or a sunny Caribbean escape this winter, starting your journey with guaranteed legroom beats fighting for space in the back of the plane every single time.

22-Year-Old All-Time Country Record-Breaker Hits Major Billboard Milestone Following George Strait Performance
Hudson Westbrook picked up a milestone this week: his single “Painted You Pretty” debuted at No. 93 on the Billboard Hot 100, the 22-year-old’s first-ever entry on the chart.
The song, the second radio single off his debut album Texas Forever, had already spent months climbing Billboard’s Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts, along with a run atop the Bubbling Under Hot 100. Its jump onto the main chart caps off a stretch that’s included television performances on Today and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Westbrook’s rise happened fast. He first broke through in 2024 with the viral hit “Take It Slow” while still enrolled at Texas Tech University studying energy commerce, working at a feed store on the side. He left school in the fall of 2025 to pursue music full time, and has since racked up more than 1.2 billion global streams and a Billboard Country Rookie of the Month nod.
His debut single at country radio, “House Again,” reached No. 1 on the Mediabase country chart in February, making Westbrook the youngest solo male artist ever to top the country airplay chart with a debut single. “House Again did the dang thing,” he wrote on social media after the milestone hit.
That song, inspired by his parents’ divorce, became the flagship of his 2025 debut album. Its success helped fuel a breakout year: Westbrook has spent 2026 alternating headlining shows with opening slots for some of country’s biggest names, including George Strait, Morgan Wallen and Bailey Zimmerman.
Westbrook just released “Made You Look,” the title track off his sophomore album due Nov. 6, and he kicks off his own 24-date headlining “Hits Me Tour” on Sept. 18 with two sold-out shows at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas, hometown turf for the singer who was still working at a feed store when his music career first took off.
Best-Selling Author’s Novel, Linked to ‘Big Brother,’ Named One of the Best Debut Books of 2026
Reality television has its perks. Not only can it help a budding writer get an audience, but it can also turn a fellow reality star into an unlikely book promoter.
Both actually happened Tuesday, Sept. 1, on the Big Brother live feeds when Rick Devens, one of BB28’s resident Icons, shared with his fellow houseguests one of his favorite page-turners, which just so happens to be the debut novel from Stephen Fishbach, a two-time contestant on CBS’s Survivor.
View this post on Instagram🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬
The book is called Escape!, and it was an instant national bestseller when it hit shelves Jan. 27, 2026. A Dutton release, the novel received critical praise from The Atlantic, Slate, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, and it has now landed on Spotify’s best debut books of the year so far.
“Anyone can enjoy it,” Devens said, “but if you’ve been on a reality show, it’ll speak to your soul. … Then again, it’s not just a reality show; it goes totally off the rails.”
Set in the jungle, Escape! follows Kent Duvall, a faded reality TV winner, and Beck Bermann, a disgraced producer, both trying to redeem themselves on a cutthroat remote survival show. Drawing on Fishbach’s own experience playing Survivor, the novel is packed with challenges, sabotage, rival camps, and cash prizes.
“I spoke with dozens of producers and audio technicians and other crew. I also read countless interviews with reality producers,” Fishbach told One Story about his research process for the novel, as well as his approach to gaining insight from those outside the confines of reality TV.
He also added insight into Beck‘s character, explaining that her dilemma is “fundamentally human.”
“At least, it’s deeply meaningful for me,” he said. “Beck desperately wants to shape her life experience into a tidy story. She wants victories to be deserved and tragedies to lead to healing and growth. But how do you reckon with a tragedy that’s just random, where nothing good comes of it, that you can’t fit into a coherent narrative? In some ways, ‘reality TV producer’ is just a metaphor for that struggle.”
CBS Photo Archive / Getty Images
Beyond his reality-TV career, Fishbach is a Pushcart Prize-winning writer and former television executive. He appeared on two seasons of Survivor: Survivor: Tocantins and Survivor: Cambodia.
Meanwhile, Devens also competed on two seasons of Survivor: Survivor: Edge of Extinction and Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans. Devens joined Big Brother 28 as one of three reality-TV Icons alongside fellow Survivor alum Dee Valladares and former Big Brother houseguest Angela Murray.
Now in Week 8, Devens remains in the game with his fellow Icons by his side. And book recommendations aplenty.
M&M’s Just Revealed ‘Practical Magic 2’ Candy Packs Inspired by That Iconic Spell Scene
M&M’s is conjuring up another round of collectible snack packs and this one is practically magic. Ok, so that’s hyperbolic, but the limited-edition drop is all about Practical Magic 2.
On Tuesday, just a little over one week away from the theatrical debut of the sequel to the 1998 hit film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, the beloved Mars, Inc. candy brand unveiled the perfect movie-watching companion: its limited-edition Amas Veritas Spell & Snack Pack.
Following the successful limited run of its All Cerulean pack (which coincided with the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2) and the bombshell that was its Love Island-themed game packs, M&M’s is continuing to spread whimsy with another series of custom snack packs.
M&M’s Is Giving Away Custom Practical Magic-Inspired Candies—Here’s How to Score YoursIf it wasn’t obvious, the Amas Veritas Spell & Snack Pack was inspired by the scene in the original film when a young Sally Owens (played by Camilla Belle) recites the famous “Amas Veritas” love charm.
According to an official statement shared in an email with Parade, the spellbinding pack allows fans to “recreate the magic bite-by-bite” with its custom M&M’s candies featuring the eight “magical qualities” that Sally wished for in her ideal man (such as flipping pancakes in the air, riding a pony backward, and having one green eye and one blue).
The limited-edition M&M’s also include an “extended verse” of four new symbols that we’re told, “hint at the mysteries brewing in the sequel.”

Billboard Announces Career First for Belly Gang Kushington
Belly Gang Kushington has reached a new milestone in his rising rap career.
The Atlanta rapper earned his first career entry on the Billboard Hot 100 this week as “WTF GOIN,” his collaboration with 21 Savage, debuted at No. 85 on the chart.
Billboard also announced the milestone on Instagram, noting that Belly Gang Kushington earns his first Hot 100 entry with the song. The track also appears at No. 85 on Billboard’s current Hot 100 chart, marking its first week on the ranking.
Belly Gang Kushington shared Billboard’s announcement on his own social media and celebrated the moment with a short message: “Billboard LETS GET IT🍴🍴🍴”

The debut gives the rapper a major new chart achievement as he continues to build momentum around his music and his upcoming project.
View this post on InstagramThe Billboard Hot 100 milestone adds to a busy year for Belly Gang Kushington, whose career has moved quickly since he signed with Love Renaissance, also known as LVRN, in late 2024.
Born Victor Thomas, the Atlanta rapper began his rap career in 2020. He later released his debut studio album, The Streets is Yours, on April 25, 2025, through LVRN.
His mainstream breakthrough came with “Friend Do,” which helped put his name in front of a wider audience. The song and its remix with YKNiece became important parts of his early rise, with “Friend Do (Remix)” reaching No. 20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Before his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, Belly Gang Kushington had already earned recognition from several major music platforms.
In March 2026, Billboard named him its Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month. At the time, “Friend Do” was gaining attention on the Urban radio chart, while Belly said he was beginning to notice a bigger change in how people recognized him.
“I just want to continue to be able to work every day. I don’t really got no money goals, no number goals. I just want to learn how to be happy,” he told Billboard in March.
His 2026 run also included a BET Award nomination for Best New Artist. In June, he was named to the 2026 XXL Freshman class, another major recognition for a young rapper building his name in hip-hop.
Belly has spoken openly about what being part of the XXL Freshman class meant to him. He said he viewed the list as an important stepping stone and wanted to be part of a group that could represent the state of rap for its time.
“I think I bring underdog-ness, vulnerability, but still bully to the class,” Belly said. “Depending on what song you listening to ’cause it’s so diverse.”
That range has been part of his rise. His music has included songs such as “Do You?,” “Same Day,” “Ice Cup,” “Rent Due,” “75 on 75,” “Birds Like Popeyes” and “Friend Do.”
His work has also included collaborations with artists such as Dess Dior, YTB Fatt, OMB Peezy, Will A Fool, Jermaine Dupri and Swavay.
With “WTF GOIN” now debuting at No. 85, Belly Gang Kushington has officially added his name to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. And judging from his response to the news, he is ready for what comes next.

1988 Dance Hit, With an Iconic David Fincher Music Video, Became a No. 1 Song
“Cold Hearted” was released in 1988 by Paula Abdul. It rose all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 21 weeks on the chart overall. This was her third song to top Billboard, following “Straight Up” and “Forever Your Girl,” which all came from her album Forever Your Girl.
When speaking about her iconic album with Numero Netherlands, she said, “Forever Your Girl was a hit beyond my wildest dreams. When it was released, it was actually the first time that any artist had ever had four consecutive #1 singles – ‘Straight Up’, ‘Opposites Attract’, ‘Forever Your Girl’, ‘Cold Hearted’ – on the Billboard Hot 100.”
She continued, “I was a dancer and a choreographer, and with Forever Your Girl, I’d be singing as well. When crafting my sound and style, it had to be energetic and authentically me. That meant when people heard it, I didn’t want them to just sing along. I wanted them to dance along. They could dance at a club, at a party, on a stage or in a studio, but they had to dance. Becoming a vocal artist was a huge and important first for me. It was the first time I was taking such an enormous step out of my comfort zone.”
The music video for “Cold Hearted” was directed by David Fincher, who is known for Fight Club, Gone Girl, The Social Network, and Seven. The video currently has 23 million views on YouTube.
Abdul had several other hits throughout her career, including “Rush Rush” and “The Promise of a New Day.” In 1990, she was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Straight Up.” She also won the Grammy for Best Music Video for “Opposites Attract.”

Abdul spent some time away from performing after experiencing a plane crash. “When we plummeted, I hit my head on the ceiling of the plane,” she told Yahoo Entertainment. “I was really injured. I mean, I had a spinal cord injury and nerve damage. I started losing all feeling on my right side, and I was starting to really live in excruciating pain. So, back then, neurosurgery, especially with having spinal cord injury and having surgery, there was a 50/50 chance to get better. But I was willing to try, because the quality of my life was starting to really suck, and it hurt. … From a [pain] scale of one to 10, my ‘normal’ was hovering at seven. You learn to live like that. It was not fun. I wasn’t able to do what I love, my heart place, which is dancing. That wasn’t happening.”
Abdul is currently 64.

In 1972, Carly Simon Landed Her Signature No. 1 Hit—Thanks to Uncredited Vocals From Rock Royalty
Long before listeners began debating the inspiration behind Carly Simon’s signature hit, “You’re So Vain,” another mysterious guest star was standing right beside her in the studio.
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger landed an uncredited backing performance that helped turn the 1972 song into a runaway smash. “You’re So Vain” made its Billboard Hot 100 chart debut in December 1972, and by January 1973, the song was No. 1, where it remained for three weeks.
Jagger was never actually supposed to sing on the track. That spot originally belonged to legendary singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson for the tune included on Simon’s No Secrets LP.
She told CBS This Morning that Jagger’s involvement on “You’re So Vain” was “kind of chance in a way.” Simon began, “I was in London, it was 1972, and he happened to call at the studio while I was doing the background vocals with Harry Nilsson.”

“There was just a message that Mick was on the phone. I took the call, and he asked me, ‘whatcha doing?'” she continued. “I said, ‘We’re doing some backup vocals on a song of mine. Why don’t you come down and sing with us?'”
“Mick, Harry, and I stood around the mic singing, ‘You’re so vain, you probably think this song is about you,'” Simon recalled. “Harry was such a gentleman. He knew that the chemistry was between me and Mick in terms of the singing.”
She concluded, “And so he sort of bowed out, saying, ‘The two of you have a real blend. You should do it yourselves.’ And that’s how it happened.”
The performers did have chemistry that went beyond that recording session. Simon discussed their friendship in her 2015 memoir Boys in the Trees, and a passage discussing the Rolling Stones rocker was excerpted by PEOPLE Magazine.
“If Mick could have his way, it would be Romeo and Juliet tragic,” she wrote. “We couldn’t have each other.”
Simon explained that the night before her wedding to James Taylor, she received a call from Jagger’s wife Bianca.
“She told James that he shouldn’t marry me because her husband and I were having an affair. She muttered some things I couldn’t believe she was saying,” she wrote.
“Then James said, ‘I’m sure that’s not true. Carly has told me about it and it’s not what you think. I trust my wife-to-be. I trust Carly,'” she concluded.
Beyond its secret backing vocalist, the single sparked endless speculation over its subject, with fans theorizing it was written about everyone from James Taylor and Warren Beatty to David Bowie and Kris Kristofferson.
Simon admitted to People Magazine in 2015 that “the second verse is Warren.” The singer and songwriter also told the BBC, “Now, that doesn’t mean that the other two verses aren’t also about Warren. It just means that the second one is.”
She dropped a clue about whether the song referenced ex-husband Taylor in a 1973 interview with Rolling Stone. “It’s definitely not about James, although James suspected that it might be about him because he’s very vain.”
While the debate over who inspired “You’re So Vain” remains part of classic rock lore, the track’s true magic lies in that spontaneous London session. Over 50 years later, the blend of Carly Simon and Mick Jagger’s voices remains an unbeatable piece of 1970s music history.

1987 Hit Dance Song Was Written by Debbie Gibson When She Was Only 14
“Shake Your Love” was a 1987 dance hit released by Debbie Gibson. The song, which was on her studio album Out of the Blue, rose all the way to number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
In an interview with Pop Entertainment, she spoke about people assuming her music is insubstantial. “That’s a big misconception, I would say, that my music is all one-dimensional and bubble gummy,” she said. “That’s been pounded into people’s heads. Of course, a song like ‘Shake Your Love’ was just that, but, hey, I wrote it when I was fourteen. It was a lot better than the songs I was writing when I was eleven. Those were about my dog and stuff.”
The same year that “Shake Your Love” was released, she also released “Foolish Beat,” which reached number one on the charts. At 17, she became the youngest person to write, produce, and perform a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and she still holds the record as the youngest woman to do so.
Although many people know Gibson as Debbie, she is now known professionally as Deborah as well. She spoke with Pop Dose about the change. “Going to Debbie at 16 was the biggest challenge!” she said. “I was always Deborah. The Deborah shift was organic. Not ‘Ohhhhh I’m sophisticated now.’ Once I realized I built a brand and tore it down and confused people, I embraced Debbie in a new way. Yes, I’m me onstage, but there’s also a persona and it didn’t have to be congruent with the me that cooks dinner! There’s a divide between personal life and the stage. Friends call me Deb or Deborah, but ‘Debbie Gibson’ is catchier. How narcissistic do I sound right now?”

Gibson is currently 56. She had a number of huge hits throughout her illustrious career, including “Lost in Your Eyes,” “Foolish Beat,” Only in My Dreams,” and “Electric Youth.” In 2014, she was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.

Star Trek Fans Can Help Set a Vulcan Salute World Record
For a franchise built on optimism and togetherness, Star Trek‘s plan to celebrate its 60th birthday could not be more fitting. The franchise wants fans around the world to raise a single split-fingered hand at the same moment and, in doing so, make history together.
Paramount has announced a sprawling slate of events for Star Trek Day, the annual celebration held on Sept. 8, the date the original series first aired on NBC in 1966. The very first broadcast, an episode titled The Man Trap, introduced audiences to a hopeful vision of the future that would resonate for generations. This year’s edition doubles as the franchise’s diamond anniversary, and the centerpiece is an invitation for the global fanbase to take part in something communal.
The marquee event is a Guinness World Records attempt for the most people performing the Vulcan Salute at the same time. The gesture, an open hand with fingers parted between the middle and ring finger, was created by Leonard Nimoy for his character Spock and has long been paired with the phrase “Live Long and Prosper.” Fans can join in both in person and online. The official attempt comes from London’s Science Museum during a free, adults-only evening event, while viewers everywhere can participate through a synchronized digital celebration.
Related: Shatner, Takei and Koenig Reunite for Star Trek’s 60th Birthday
The theatrical side of the celebration reaches closer to home for American fans. More than 750 U.S. theaters will screen newly restored 4K presentations of classic Star Trek films, each paired with a beloved episode of the original series making its big-screen debut. Attendees will also have a chance to buy replica collectibles tied to the anniversary.
The festivities spill into some unexpected corners of television. Two long-running game shows, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal, will air Star Trek-themed episodes on CBS on Sept. 8, with Strange New Worlds stars Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck making appearances. Entertainment Tonight is also planning themed content drawn from its archives.
Beyond the anniversary date itself, the tributes continue for weeks. Star Trek will receive the Franchise of the Year Award at the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame ceremony in New York on Sept. 29. A Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic Con on Oct. 10 will preview the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. There is even a new LEGO Icons set recreating the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise on the way.
The celebration arrives at a transitional moment for the franchise. Strange New Worlds wraps its fourth season this month and is set to conclude with a fifth and final run in 2027, leaving the future of Star Trek on television uncertain even as its past is honored.
That blend of reflection and community feels true to what has kept the series alive for sixty years. The invitation to lift a hand in unison, wherever fans happen to be, turns a simple gesture into a shared act of connection across a global audience.
