A Divisive Romance Novel Is The Most-Read Classic on Goodreads in 2026

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 3:26pm

A stormy, emotionally charged literary classic is having a major moment in 2026. According to Goodreads’ latest data on the most-read classics in the last few months, readers have been gravitating toward one famously debated novel above all others so far this year: Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.

It’s probably no surprise that the 19th-century novel is topping the list. A new film adaptation released in February has reintroduced the story to audiences, sparking fresh discussion around its famously polarizing characters and bleak emotional landscape.

The Wuthering Heights adaptation directed by Emerald Fennell and starring Margot Robbieand Jacob Elordi has been just as controversial as the original book, but for different reasons, including the whitewashing of Heathcliff, the inaccuracy in the production design, and how it romanticizes a relationship that in the original book is arguably quite abusive. Despite any issues people had with the movie, it did well at the box office, bringing in $241.3 million worldwide.

Of course, the book was also polarizing when it came out in 1847, with The Telegraph sharing some original reviews of the novel years ago. In 1948, a critic for The Examiner wrote, "This is a strange book."

"It is not without evidences of considerable power: but, as a whole, it is wild, confused, disjointed, and improbable," they went on. "And the people who make up the drama, which is tragic enough in its consequences, are savages ruder than those who lived before the days of Homer."

Because of all of this, and the timelessness of the classic novel, it makes sense that Wuthering Heights has soared to the top of the most-read classics on Goodreads so far this year.

As for the other most-read classics on Goodreads in 2026, the list includes plenty of familiar titles, with a few being 1984 by George Orwell, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Megan Thee Stallion has accused her boyfriend, Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson, of cheating on her.

The rapper made the bold accusation via her Instagram Story on Saturday, Apr. 25. The pair confirmed their relationship publicly in July 2025 when Thompson posted romantic photos of their tropical vacation together to Instagram.

"Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house..." Megan began. "Got 'cold feet.'"

“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be 'monogamous????'” she continued. “B---h I need a REAL break after this one... Bye yall."

Although Megan did not reference Thompson by name, a her representative later confirmed the couple had broken up via a statement to Complex.

I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward," the statement read. "I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity."

Prior to her relationship with Thompson, Megan previously dated former Boston Celtics forward Torrey Craig from 2024 to 2025.

Thompson, on the other hand, has been previously linked to actresses Laura Harrier and Eiza González.

Thompson has yet to publicly address Megan's allegations.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Announces Her Maternity Leave, ‘Be Back Soon!’

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 3:21pm

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is leaving her post. At least, temporarily. Appointed by President Donald Trump in 2024 (at the age of 27), the now-28-year-old is the youngest person to hold the job in history. Not only has she built quite a career at such a young age, but Leavitt is also about to become a mom of two.

Leavitt and husband Nicolas Riccio, 60, met in 2022. The couple got engaged one year later (in 2023) and welcomed their first child, a son named Niko, in July 2024. And yes, you did the math correctly. There is a 32-year age gap between Leavitt and Riccio.

Last year, Karoline opened up about her relationship on The Megyn Kelly Show, explaining that she met her now-husband (they tied the knot in 2025) at a mutual friend's event during her congressional campaign. Of the age difference, Leavitt said, “It’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend, he’s my rock.” She explained that her husband is “fully supportive of me building my success in my career.”

The Press Secretary also spoke with Kelly about Riccio as a father, saying, “He’s the best dad I could ask for and so supportive, especially during this very chaotic period of my life.” Leavitt opened up about parenting her first child, Niko, while working relentlessly, “ It’s a lot, no denying it…I had him in the midst of the presidential campaign, three days before the President almost lost his life in Butler, Pennsylvania…it was my first day home from the hospital with him, and it kind of threw me right back to work much sooner than I probably would have expected or hoped. But becoming a mother in the midst of this very chaotic political world that I work in has been the best thing I could have ever imagined because it gives you great perspective, and it humbles you.”

So how does Leavitt handle working and raising her son? She told Kelly, “It’s a difficult balance to prioritize being good at my job and being good as a mother, but I just try to prioritize my time and carve out that time when I can, and I’m so grateful to have the support system I do. A great husband who can be very present with our child, and then of course a wonderful mother and father and friends who chip in when I need them.”

Now the White House Press Secretary is about to become a mom again, and recently announced her maternity leave. Leavitt wrote, in an Instagram post, “When my husband and I found out we are expecting another child, my first thought was overwhelming gratitude and joy.” Of course, as any parent knows, having two children close in age and working a demanding full-time job isn’t exactly easy. Karoline continued, “My second thought was “how the heck am I going to do this job, with a toddler, and while pregnant? Well, 39 weeks later and we did it. Be back soon!”

This piece embraces a playful, kitschy spirit with its unmistakable lemon shape — bright, glossy, and impossible to ignore. The yellow exterior features a subtle, dimpled texture that mimics the natural skin of a lemon, giving it added depth and a tactile quality. A hand-painted finish enhances this effect, with tonal variations in the yellow adding richness and dimension. At the top, the leaves are rendered in raised, three-dimensional form, with soft curves and painted veining that make them feel organic, as if they’ve just been plucked.

Crafted from durable 100% dolomite, a durable, lightweight stone, it has a sturdy, substantial feel while maintaining a smooth, glossy glaze that’s easy to handwash. The gently curved edges help keep contents contained, so snacks, fruit, or small items stay in place without spilling over. Measuring at 8 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, and 2.8 inches high, its size makes it versatile enough to move throughout the home.

2024 No. 1 Hit Just Became a Surprise Duet Between This Beloved Comedian and Ella Langley

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 3:08pm

Comedy and country music came together for an unforgettable moment on Friday, April 24, afternoon during the 2026 Stagecoach Festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, which runs from April 24-26.

A Surprise for the Fans

While making her debut at the popular music festival, Ella Langley, 26, enlisted the help of comedian and podcaster Theo Von, 46, who joined her on stage to sing her No. 1 hit “you look like you love me,” which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart in December of 2024.

The moment came as a surprise for lucky attendees as Langley didn’t welcome her guest to the stage until the second verse, where he then filled the shoes of her original collaborator, Riley Green. An unlikely duet, but Von held up his portion of the onstage collaboration. He didn’t miss a beat, and instead, confidently fed off his duet partner’s energy while delivering the lyrics that play out like a conversation to the listener.

Those moments can be viewed in the fan-uploaded TikTok videos below.

In those clips, Von can be seen even looking the part for his male role in the duet, sporting head-to-toe denim with a cowboy hat atop his head. His country attire paired well with Langley’s glam outfit, complementing her pair of long red cowgirl boots, flowing miniskirt, fridge shawl, and eye-popping corset adorned with sequins and red and green accents.

The one-of-a-kind duet comes just weeks after Langley appeared on Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend w/Theo Von, to discuss her music career, life, and latest album, Dandelion, which dropped on April 10.

“Bet you didn’t expect that… keep ’em guessing!” the Alabama-born singer/songwriter joked as Von exited the stage.

Aside from treating fans to a reimagined version of her “you look like you love me” collaboration, Langley delivered both new and old songs from her catchy catalog. She performed Dandelion tracks, “Bottom of Your Boots,” “Broken,” “Choosin’ Texas,” and others, as well as “20-20” from the deluxe edition of her Still Hungover album.

1941 Box Office Flop Banned by a Tycoon Became the Greatest Film of All Time

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 2:40pm

It happens. Stellar cinema can bomb at the box office. From The Shawshank Redemption and Mulholland Drive, to The Fabelmans andFight Club, some movies take a hot second to find their audiences. For Citizen Kane, however, the underwhelming box office was the result of causes far beyond audience indifference.

According to IndieWire, the Orson Welles-directed masterpiece drew the ire of the powerful media tycoon the film was about.

A psychological drama recounting the life and death of a man named Charles Foster Kane, the film is an unauthorized cinematic portrait of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. Over the course of an hour and 59 minutes, the film unapologetically explores the ego, power, and loneliness of the mogul, with Welles in the leading role.

“Upon its release, Citizen Kane was an immediate critical success, with reviewers praising Orson Welles’ inventive direction, his acerbic screenplay with Herman J. Mankiewicz, and the incredible performances of the ensemble cast,” IndieWire writes. “During its theatrical run, however, the film struggled, almost entirely because of the interference of newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst.”

When Hearst got wind of the “boy genius” shredding his reputation on the big screen, he did everything he could to shut the film down, even going so far as to sabotage the film’s theatrical run by bribing theater chains to forgo playing it.

“As a result, the movie lost around $160,000,” IndieWire shares. “But Hearst couldn’t keep the film down forever, and Citizen Kane is now frequently ranked as the single best movie ever made.”

Hollywood executives rallied around Hearst in an attempt to gain rights over the film and burn the negative. Efforts also included smearing the film in his newspapers and launching FBI investigations. And at the time, it worked, PBS reports. It would take a quarter century for Citizen Kane to be revived.

“Hearst and Welles were proud, gifted, and destructive — geniuses each in his way," producer Thomas Lennon tells the outlet. “The fight that ruined them both was thoroughly in character with how they'd lived their lives.”

Eight and a half decades later, Citizen Kane remains at the top of AFI’s 100 Years … 100 Movies. Now, there are best-movie lists, and there is the American Film Institute’s list. Think of it like the Supreme Court of all things moving image. The organization's authority, legacy, and near-universal recognition trumps everything else.

Turns out, you simply can't cancel a masterpiece.

This Movie Has a 99% Rating—and It’s One of the Most Popular Streams Right Now

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 2:27pm

The Perfect Neighbor is a 2025 documentary film told through real police bodycam footage and 911 calls. It is about a seemingly minor dispute in a Florida neighborhood that escalated into deadly violence when a white woman, Susan Louise Lorincz, fatally shot her Black neighbor, Ajike Owens.

The 90-minute film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Directing award. It was also nominated for Best Documentary at the Academy Awards. When it was originally released, it had a limited theatrical run, but it is now streaming globally on Netflix.

The film has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and is one of the most popular streams at the moment. Although it is about a real tragedy, one reviewer said, “It is an upsetting 97 minutes that needs to be seen.” Another said, “A gut-wrenching documentary that feels like a real-life horror movie. The editing keeps the film engaging throughout.”

Related: ‘Dateline’ Announcer Who Worked on the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ Dies at 77

The film was directed by Geeta Gandbhir, a Harvard graduate who has won Emmy awards and Peabody awards for her work. In a 2025 interview with Film Comment Magazine, she explained about how she became aware of the story. She stated that Owens was a close friend of her sister-in-law and they “decided to start filming because we were really concerned that Susan would not be arrested due to Florida’s stand-your-ground laws. We wanted to make the media aware of the suppression going on with local authorities, and make sure justice for Ajike was a possibility.”

She continued, “I do not think of this film as true crime. This is a story that happened to my family, and I made it to mitigate grief. One of my concerns coming to Sundance was that I wasn’t sure there was a place for it in the world, because it can’t be categorized. You’re making something that hasn’t been seen before, and that can also be problematic in this culture where so much is algorithm-based. I wasn’t too interested in the commerciality of this; I just wanted this story out somehow.”

Gandbhir also produced Katrina: Come Hell and High Water alongside Spike Lee, which is also streaming on Netflix.

The PLATSMÄRKE doormat from IKEA is priced at $24.99 and features a floral design in calming blue tones. The pattern winds across a coir surface, giving it a decorative look that sets it apart from basic entry mats. It is designed to greet guests while also helping keep dirt and debris outside, where they belong.

PLATSMÄRKE Doormat, Coir/Floral Pattern, $24.99 at IKEA Shop It!

Made from coir, a natural fiber taken from coconut husks, the doormat is built to be durable and functional. Coir is known for being strong enough to handle heavy foot traffic while still offering a textured surface that helps scrape off dirt and mud from shoes. It is also considered a more sustainable material since it uses coconut waste rather than synthetic fibers.

Shoppers are describing this IKEA doormat as a quick way to add personality to an entryway. The blue floral design has been compared to coastal New England style, which often features soft ocean-inspired colors and classic home accents. That look pairs especially well with neutral or navy exteriors, but can also brighten up more modern homes with ease.

Reviews of this IKEA find highlight the vibrant color and size as standout features. Many say the design adds a noticeable pop at the front door without feeling overwhelming. Others appreciate the balance between decorative style and everyday usefulness, especially since the mat helps keep floors cleaner inside the home.

While doormats are often seen as a basic household item, small design choices like this one from IKEA can help set the tone for a home before guests even step inside. The floral pattern offers a more welcoming feel than plain designs, making it an easy seasonal update for spring and summer.

As homeowners continue looking for affordable ways to refresh their spaces, simple decor like this IKEA mat shows how even small details can help create a more polished and inviting entrance.

You know how the whole idea of an organized home is a place for everything and everything in its place? Sounds great in theory, until you realize you simply don't have enough places to put all your stuff. Yes, I would love to neatly tuck everything away, but where, exactly? Riddle me that. Then the whole thing starts to feel less like a system and more like a personal attack.

And if you're working with a smaller space, it's even trickier. You can't just keep adding bulky storage pieces without making your home feel cramped. So now the mission becomes finding something compact and functional and (because you aren't giving up entirely) actually cute. No big deal, right? It's the kind of puzzle that can make your head spin while you're standing in your kitchen, wondering why you own this many random items in the first place.

Enter a rustic-style kitchen trolley at Target that somehow checks all the boxes—the Bestier Small Kitchen Trolley Cart. It adds extra storage space all while having a smaller footprint than, say, a traditional kitchen island. But it also has a look that doesn't feel like an afterthought as long as you're going for a rustic farmhouse vibe. Because if you're adding storage, it might as well work and look good doing it at the same time.

The kitchen cart comes in either rustic brown (shown above) or rustic gray and is currently on sale at Target for $134.48.

What actually matters here is that with this Bestier Kitchen Trolley, you're getting a mix of open shelving and a drawer, so you can stash the messy stuff (utensils and random kitchen bits) while still keeping appliances like a coffee maker or microwave within reach. It's on wheels, so you can move it around or lock it in place when needed. There's also a built-in towel bar/paper towel holder, which sounds small but makes a difference day to day.

The size is compact enough for apartments, but it still holds a surprising amount, thanks to three shelves and side storage.

One customer is thrilled with this cart, calling it a "space saver" in their review.

"I absolutely love this stand," they wrote. "All my appliances are on this stand as well as it being my 'hot' beverage station. It keeps the kitchen looking neat and organized and keeps my counters free from bulky appliances!"

If this sounds like it will save you a lot of storage headaches, grab it before it goes back to regular price.

What really sets the CloudBubble blanket apart is the material. Instead of faux fur, it’s made from plush fleece, which gives it a soft, cozy feel without the shedding issues that can come with other textured fabrics. In addition, it’s machine washable and safe for tumble drying. Many Amazon shoppers said in reviews that it held up well after washing, coming out soft, fresh, and ready to use again each time.

Its softness comes from a raised bubble texture that creates that signature plush, cloud-like feel. Beyond comfort, it also adds a subtle decorative touch when styled in any living room or  bedroom. Drape it over the end of a bed, fold it across an armchair, or toss it over the sofa to instantly give your space a more polished look.

The blanket is available in four sizes, ranging from a 50 by 60 inch throw to a 108 by 90 inch king.

Goldfish Just Dropped a New Snack—and Fans Want Them All

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:41pm

Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, Goldfish has released a nostalgic new snack that comes in several fun shapes. These themed bags have packaging that feature some of the most iconic Pokémon in the series.

There are four different editions that you can purchase—Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Each bag is filled with crackers that look like the specific Pokémon along with traditional fish-shaped crackers that match each Pokémon’s vibrant color. Pikachu is yellow, Charmander is red, Squirtle is blue, and Bulbasaur is green.

View this post on Instagram

The new shapes can be seen in an Instagram post from snackolator, who covers and reviews new snacks. The post said, “Goldfish has FOUR new Pokémon drops with special shapes, colors, and packaging and I immediately purchased all four so I could catch em all! I spotted these at Walmart and they come with Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur with natural colors for the different varieties and a custom shape for each. Which Pokémon shape would you grab?”

Fans of the franchise are excited about trying out the fun new snack. “Kinda wanna catch em all,” one person joked.

“At least they’re trying to make it Pokémon themed unlike the Pop-Tarts,” another added, referring to the Pokémon branded Pop-Tarts that recently came back after 25 years. Although they had many fans excited, they were not exactly the same as the original. The first version was Wild Cherry flavored with sprinkles in the shape of different Pokémon, but the new version has regular, round sprinkles with a Frosted Vanilla Cupcake flavor.

This isn’t the first time that Goldfish has partnered with iconic franchises. They have also released Snoopy crackers with a Peppermint Cocoa flavor for the holidays and Hello Kitty crackers with a Strawberry Shortcake flavor.

This isn’t the first time that Goldfish has partnered with Pokémon either. In 2025, they released cheddar snacks that were shaped like Pikachu and Poké Balls. Those snacks had fans just as excited, saying, “The cravings have been sparked.”

Oscar Isaac Just Explained the Most Mocked Line in Star Wars History

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:41pm

Seven years is a long time to carry a meme. Oscar Isaac has been doing exactly that since 2019, when his character Poe Dameron delivered what became what may be the most lampooned line in modern Star Wars history: 'Somehow, Palpatine returned.' Fifteen minutes into The Rise of Skywalker, delivered with an almost theatrical exasperation, and the internet has never let it go.

Now Isaac has finally explained where it came from, and the answer is exactly as turbulent as fans suspected.

Appearing on Josh Horowitz's Happy, Sad, Confused podcast in April 2026, Isaac revealed that the line was a late addition to the film, added during reshoots after principal photography had already wrapped. 'Those were reshoots. We had to do reshoots. Those are like surgical strikes where you come in and they're scrambling, trying to get everything done. That line was a new addition right at the end. There was a lot of movement and flux throughout the whole process.'

He also offered a detail that tells you something about just how rushed the moment was. By the time the reshoots were scheduled, Isaac had already cut his hair and moved on to other projects, meaning he had to wear a wig for the scene. His assessment of that wig, delivered with characteristic deadpan, was that it was 'pretty good.' (Your mileage may vary). Watch below.

Did he have any sense that the line would follow him forever? 'Had you asked me if, at that moment, I thought that was going to be a viral line, I wouldn't have known. I mean, I committed to the exasperation, that's for sure,' he said.

Isaac is back in the spotlight thanks to BeefSeason 2, currently streaming on Netflix, which has given the press a fresh occasion to revisit his Star Wars chapter. He reflected warmly on the making of The Force Awakens while being plainly honest about how chaotic the third film's production became.

He also noted, with some curiosity, that Palpatine's return was first announced not in the film itself but during a sponsored Fortnite event, a detail that has never quite stopped being strange.

There was one more thing Horowitz asked about, whether Poe Dameron might ever return to the galaxy far, far away. Isaac left the door open, responding with a tentative 'Maybe?' and adding, in Spanish, something roughly translating to 'God willing,' Though he did made clear there's no known project in the works and that this is not him teasing a secret cameo.

So maybe, just maybe...somehow Poe will return.

Eric Trump Gives A Glimpse Into Family Life With Adorable Daddy-Daughter Dance Photos

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:38pm

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a democrat or a republican—political followers (and celeb watchers) from both sides of the aisle can all agree that Eric Trump’s recent pics with his daughter are absolutely adorable.

The Trumps, they’re just like us. At least, in some ways. Eric just joined his little one at a recent daddy-daughter dance, and the photos couldn’t be cuter.

Who Are Eric Trump’s Children?

He’s the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and a prominent political fixture alongside his famous dad, President Donald Trump. But that’s not all. Eric is also the father of two young children with his wife, Lara Trump: Carolina Dorothy Trump (born 2019) and Eric Luke Trump (born 2017).

What Did Eric Trump Just Post On Instagram?

Trump recently shared a cute carousel of photos featuring Carolina, captioning the post, “4th annual Daddy Daughter dance!” The precious pics include sweet snapshots of the little girl wearing a pink dress and her doting dad in a classic suit. In one photo, Eric lovingly puts a corsage on Carolina’s wrist, and in another, she opens a card and a small gift (presumably from her father).

View this post on Instagram

Fans and friends weighed in on the heartwarming post, commenting, “Adorable,” “So sweet and such a good Dad,” and “Beautiful father and daughter pictures.”

Eric wasn’t the only one in his family to post about the daddy-daughter dance recently. His wife, Lara Trump, also shared a carousel of her own. But her post didn’t include pics of Eric or their daughter. Instead, she wrote, “When Dad takes Carolina to the Daddy Daughter dance, Luke gets a mom and Kim mall date!”

View this post on Instagram

Of course, Luke is her younger child. And judging by the photos, he lucked out and got to spend some QT with mom, as big sis Carolina enjoyed the night with Dad. One commenter praised the pics and offered their advice, writing, “Love the mom and son moments! Take advantage of it.” Another fan added, “Aww, how special, love it!”

Unlike some other celeb parents, the Trumps (Eric and Lara) don’t have an issue with sharing their children’s faces online. Lara recently opened up on The Katie Miller Podcast, saying, “I think that I try to live my life and give my kids as normal a life as possible. And they think it’s cool to be on. They’re like, ‘Are you going to put that on Instagram?’ Like, ‘How do you know what Instagram is?’ They’re six and eight. Now, mind you, they don’t have a phone. They will not, and they will not have a social media account for many, many, many years.”

While Lara says Eric is on board (obviously, based on his recent photos) with posting pics of their kiddos on social media, she adds, “What’s interesting is that the one person who sort of has told us maybe we should do less is my father-in-law.”

1973 ‘Best American Rock Song’ Ranked Best Classic Rock Needle Drop in Film

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:27pm

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird,” which was just named the greatest American rock song, is also one of the most utilized classic rock songs in film. With its storytelling lyrics, slow build to explosive payoff, and legendary guitar solo, the Southern rock hit makes for the grandest companion to pivotal scenes on the big screen.

American Songwriter gets it. The outlet recently published a roundup of the best uses of classic rock songs in movies and, of course, “Free Bird” made their selective list. The particular film they cite for using the song to keen effect is Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Released in 2014 and directed by Matthew Vaughn, the action thriller stars Taron Egerton and Colin Firth as members of a stylish spy outfit battling a global threat in the form of a crazed tech bro, played by Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s action is brutal yet classy, creative yet classic, and entirely on display in the killer church scene.

A wildly thrilling, though incredibly bloody, gun fight in a house of worship, the scene mixes hand-to-hand combat and weapons mayhem with slick choreography. It’s basically a gauntlet Firth’s immaculately dressed agent has to kick butt through. All the while, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s tune provides the soundtrack. The scene is too brutal to post here, but you can watch the whole battle royale here

Should you want a lighter take on “Free Bird”-in-film, we highly recommend Elizabethtown. Despite playing out like a dilutedJerry Maguire knockoff (too harsh?), Cameron Crowe’s 2005 rom-com is still a decent watch — specifically because of its soundtrack, which features a funeral concert complete with “Free Bird” and an actual bird on fire.

We also must point out that AS left off THE actual best use of ’70s classic rock in film from their list. In addition to Kingsman and “Free Bird,” the outlet cites Almost Famousand Elton John's “Tiny Dancer,” and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2and Cat Stevens' “Father and Son.” Great picks. But where is Reservoir Dogs and Stealers Wheel’s “Stuck in the Middle With You”?

The 1972 hit soundtracks a significant tonal shift in Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 crime thriller about a group of colorful bank robbers who start to turn on each other one by one. As Michael Madsen’s Mr. Blonde begins a fit of torture on a captured cop, he tunes the radio to his favorite song, “Stuck in the Middle With You,” of course, then goes about dancing and making light of a truly dark switchblade moment. Watch it here.

Now, we get it: These things are highly subjective and everyone has their own take on the best use of classic rock in movies. So, shout-out your favorite classic rock cine-tune moment in the comments. And don't miss out on the band's new music video for "Free Bird."

Kingsman: The Secret Service is streaming on Hulu, Elizabethtown is streaming for free on Pluto, and Reservoir Dogs is streaming on Peacock.

‘Catching Breast Cancer Early at 31 Years Old Saved My Life—Here’s What I Wish Everyone Knew About Early Detection’

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:25pm

While deaths from breast cancer have declined greatly in the U.S. (a whopping 44% since 1989), breast cancer diagnoses are unfortunately on the rise, according to the American Cancer Society

As with any cancer, early diagnosis is key to overcoming breast cancer. When it's caught early, the five-year survival rate is greater than 90%. (This means that more than 90% of women diagnosed with stage 1 or stage 2 breast cancer live at least five years after diagnosis, and typically live much longer than five years past diagnosis). But the later breast cancer is diagnosed, the lower the survival rate is. Once cancer has spread beyond the breast tissue, the five-year survival rate drops to 31%.

It’s recommended that women of average risk for breast cancer get regular mammograms from age 40 to 74. But if you have a family history of breast cancer, it’s recommended to be screened earlier. Lucy Abrams, a therapist who lives in Ohio, knows this firsthand. Here, she shares her health journey and what she wants everyone to know about early breast cancer detection, especially if you have a genetic predisposition.

Lucy Abrams.

The Importance of Knowing Your Risk

Abrams knew from a relatively young age that she had a family history of breast cancer.

“A bunch of women on my mom’s side of the family had breast cancer, so my mom ended up getting genetic testing done when she was 40 to find out if she had [a mutation of] the BRCA1 gene,” she tells Parade.

BRCA1 (BReast CAncer gene 1) and BRCA2 (BReast CAncer gene 2) are genes that produce proteins that help repair damaged DNA. Everyone has two copies of each gene, one copy inherited from each parent. People who inherit a mutation of one of these genes have an increased risk of several types of cancer, including breast cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, 60% of women who inherit a harmful change in BRCA1 or BRCA2 will develop breast cancer.

When Abrams’ mom found out she had a mutated BRAC1 gene, Abrams says that her doctor told her to get tested for the gene when she was 25. “There was a 50% chance I would have the [mutated] gene and if I had it, the risk of getting breast cancer was high,” Abrams explains.

Knowing this, she followed the doctors’ advice and underwent genetic testing. Like her mom, Abrams also ended up having a mutation of the BRCA1 gene. “Because of this, I knew that it was really important for me to stay on top of my breast cancer screenings,” Abrams shares.

In the summer of 2023, she went for a routine doctor’s appointment. She had kept up with getting regular mammograms to screen for breast cancer, only missing one. When her doctor did a breast exam, she felt a lump and recommended Abrams get a mammogram and ultrasound.

Related: The #1 Early Breast Cancer Sign Most People Miss

During the ultrasound, the radiologist found a tumor, which was sent to be biopsied. The tumor turned out to be breast cancer. “I first found out through a message in MyChart. It said it was an invasive ductal carcinoma, which I immediately Googled,” Abrams says. Her doctor called her an hour later to confirm and explain the diagnosis.

As anyone would be, Abrams was shaken by the news. She was only 31 and was in the middle of planning her wedding. Even though she had a family history of breast cancer, she had been staying on top of screenings and doctor’s appointments, doing everything she could to look after her health. It didn’t seem fair. It wasn’t fair.

“My mom and fiancé went with me to my doctor’s appointment the following week, which is where I was given my prognosis and cancer stage. I had stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC),” Abrams says.

Drastic Highs and Lows

Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis completely altered Abrams’ life.

“Everything was happening really fast,” Abrams tells Parade. She and her fiancé moved into Abrams’ parents’ house to be closer to Cleveland Clinic, where Abrams was being treated.

Before she had time to process her diagnosis, her calendar was filled with appointments for chemotherapy.

“Originally, the treatment plan was for me to do 16 rounds of chemo and then have a double mastectomy,” Abrams says. She also had to consider questions she had never thought about before, such as whether she wanted to freeze and preserve her eggs or if she wanted to meet with a plastic surgeon after her double mastectomy.

And though she loved her job as a therapist, chemo completely wiped Abrams out and she had to cut her client list way down.

“I had to reprioritize everything, which was really hard,” she says. Though there were many hard moments, there were some bright ones too, such as Abrams’ wedding day. “We got married in Scotland surrounded by our immediate family and close friends, which was really great,” she shares.

Lucy Abrams

Abrams hit her hardest moment after nine rounds of chemo. “I started getting really dizzy, to the point where I wasn’t even able to make it up the stairs. I didn’t even feel human anymore,” she says. Abrams met with her oncologist and underwent MRIs, which showed that her tumor was completely gone.

Given this improvement, Abrams’ oncologist told her she didn’t have to continue chemo. “The chemo had completely killed the cancer, which is awesome,” Abrams says. This was December 2023, at which point she was declared completely cancer-free.

Though the chemo worked, Abrams moved forward with getting a double mastectomy. “Because of the genetic mutation, my plan was always to get a double mastectomy when I was 40 because my cancer risk was so high,” Abrams explains, adding that getting cancer meant she would just do it earlier than planned.

She also plans to get a hysterectomy in the next few years to eliminate the body’s primary source of estrogen, which will lower her risk of getting breast cancer again.

What She Wants Everyone To Know

Now, at 34, Abrams is cancer-free. This is largely because she knew her risk and took action by staying on top of regular cancer screenings and doctors’ appointments. That’s how her cancer was caught early.

“What I hope people will take away the most from my story is to not skip cancer screenings,” Abrams says. “Some people don’t want to be screened for cancer because they don’t want to know if they have it, but it’s way less scary to know if you have cancer than to not know and for it to get worse."

Abrams also stresses that it’s important to advocate for yourself. If you feel like something is “off” with your body, speak up. If your doctor doesn’t take it seriously, seek out a second opinion. No one knows your body better than you.

If you don’t know if breast cancer runs in your family, consider discussing genetic testing with your primary care doctor. The more you know about your body, the more proactive you can be in terms of your health. For Abrams, this intel saved her life. It just might save yours, too.

1985 Hit Ranked Among ‘Greatest Power Ballads’ of All Time Hit No. 1 41 Years Later

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 1:06pm

In 1985, Mötley Crüe released a song that would go on to become emblematic of the power ballad era.

Their track, "Home Sweet Home," has since been ranked among the greatest power ballads of all time by Ultimate Classic Rock, thanks to its emotional resonance and enduring popularity.

Originally featured on the album Theatre of Pain, the song stood out for its softer, more introspective tone, which proved a stark contrast to the band's harder-edged image. Built around a piano melody and a soaring vocal performance, "Home Sweet Home" quickly became a fan favorite, capturing themes of longing, life on the road and the desire to return to something familiar.

While it was a major hit in the '80s, it peaked at No. 89 on the Billboard Hot 100. But, it's story didn't stop there.

More than four decades later, the track experienced an unexpected resurgence when the band recorded a new version, a collaboration with country legend Dolly Parton. Released in 2025, the updated rendition introduced the song to a new audience and propelled it to No. 1 on the MediaBase Classic Rock Songs chart, marking a remarkable full-circle moment.

"Dolly looked at me and said, 'I really love these lyrics,'" Mötley Crue bassist and "Home Sweet Home" songwriter told Forbes. "This was one of her husband Carl's favorite songs. And she goes, in her very sweet southern accent, 'When you're young, you want to get as far away from home as possible. You want to chase those dreams. You want to chase whatever you want to do. And then once you get there, it's the journey getting back to your roots.' I was like, 'No one's ever explained my lyrics to me that clear.' That just touched me on so many levels."

The crossover success highlighted the song's universal appeal and the enduring draw of the beloved country star. Stripped down or reimagined, its message remains just as powerful, resonating with listeners across genres and generations. Mötley Crüe and Dolly Parton even made an official music video for the new version of the song.

Few songs achieve that kind of longevity, let alone return to the top of the charts decades after their debut.

"It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe's 40th Anniversary re-release of 'Home Sweet Home,'" Dolly shared on her website. "I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic."

Today, "Home Sweet Home" stands as a timeless classic, one that not only defined an era, but proved its staying power 41 years later with a whole new audience.

1998 ‘Days of Our Lives’ Departure Ended a Record-Breaking Run of Six Distinct Roles That Changed Daytime TV Forever

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 12:42pm

On this day in 1998, Eileen Davidson final appearance in her original five-year run as Kristen Blake-DiMera on Days of Our Lives.

Davidson joined the soap in 1993 as social worker Kristen Blake. After Kristen was saved from a mugging by John Black (Drake Hogestyn), she was grateful, until she learned his identity and that he was the longtime rival of her father, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). Although Kristen tried to keep her distance, Alice Horton (Frances Reid) helped bring the pair together at the Horton cabin, where they fell in love.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES -- Season 29 -- Pictured: (l-r) Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Eileen Davidson as Kristen Blake, Thaao Penghlis as Tony DiMera (Photo by Chris Haston/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images)

Their romance faced constant obstacles, including Kristen’s complicated marriage to Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). Believing John belonged with Marlena, Kristen honored Stefano’s ‘dying wish’ and married Tony after learning Belle was John’s biological daughter, not Roman Brady’s (Wayne Northrop).

Kristen’s marriage to Tony eventually ended, allowing her to reunite with John. Believing a medical issue may leave her infertile, Kristen rushed to start a family with him, and the couple conceived a child, which would change the trajectory of their lives forever.

Things quickly change for the couple again, when Marlena was kidnapped by Stefano and taken to Paris. Kristen followed along in the search for Marlena, but after an unexpected explosion killed Kristen’s mother Rachel Blake and injured her, Kristen secretly lost the baby John believed they were expecting.

Stefano then orchestrated one of the soap’s most infamous twists: hiring a pregnant woman to impersonate Kristen and hand over her newborn as Kristen and John’s child. That woman was Susan Banks, launching Davidson’s fan-favorite multi-role era.

In a February 1997 interview with TV Guide, Davidson explained that she was originally supposed to leave, revealing, “My contract was up in April, and I've extended it for a few more months because they wanted to go with the story a little bit more. You know Jim Reilly. I wouldn't put anything past that man. Anything could happen. I mean, it would be fantastic if Susan just takes over Kristen's life.”

During the storyline, Davidson also played the role of Sister Mary Moira Banks, Penelope Kent, and their brother Thomas Banks, for a total of six distinct parts.

Kristen’s lies were eventually exposed. Susan ultimately traded Kristen’s freedom for her own, while Kristen famously screamed “No!” after realizing Marlena and John had once again reunited and would live happily ever after.

After leaving Days, Davidson returned to The Young and the Restless as Ashley Abbott. Years of fan speculation ended in 2012 when she reprised her Kristen once again.

The role was later recast with Stacy Haiduk taking over as Kristen and Susan. Haiduk has since earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series.

Recent reports indicate the role of Kristen will once again be rested, with Haiduk expected to leave at the end of this year.

Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.

The Most Revolutionary Zodiac Signs, Ranked

Sat, 04/25/2026 - 12:38pm

What makes a zodiac sign revolutionary? To begin with, the way individuals fight against authority and the methods they use to implement their ideology can vary. This could involve staging a protest or expressing their views on social media. Each zodiac sign possesses unique traits that provide it with the courage to stand up and revolt.

The six astrological signs—Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries, Scorpio, Leo, and Gemini—are considered the most revolutionary. These forward-thinkers possess an idealistic vision for the future. These star signs advocate for themselves and others. Through various methods and techniques for change, they can help bring about a new vision.

The 6 Most Revolutionary Zodiac Signs, Ranked

Check for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs.

RELATED: Your Zodiac Sign's 8-Year Forecast: Uranus Enters Gemini

Aquarius

The air sign is ruled by Uranus, the planet of discord and rebellion. Uranus is called the “great awakener” because it helps us see where things need improvement and change as society moves forward. As a result, we can grow and transcend. Therefore, this star sign knows we have to take collective well-being and growth seriously. Revolting against the norms and status quo pushes us to new heights culturally, politically, and energetically. Taking a stand against authority gives Aquarius the motivation to get on their high horse and soapboxes for social causes they believe in.

Sagittarius

Sagittarians can be controversial, challenging conventions; they often speak their minds, think, and act against the grain to insert their opinions. Their fiery, unique philosophies span continents and cultures, making their views particularly interesting. Because the archer will defend their thoughts and autonomy, it makes sense for them to be among the most revolutionary signs of the zodiac. Their open-mindedness and passion prove that they aren't ones to sit around and be silent. Sagittarians are the disruptors, making them at the front of every picket line and unafraid to battle for liberty for all (not just themselves).

Aries

Aries is the warrior, as the warrior planet, Mars, is their ruler. Since Aries are the first sign of the zodiac, they are natural-born leaders. Not only can they confidently assert and argue their perspectives, but the ram also brings people together. Aries are pioneers, making them often at the forefront of disruptive change. This fire sign isn't one to simmer down when they are impassioned about a cause or concern that speaks to their heart and soul. They will fight endlessly until they win or sway others to their way of thinking. When it comes to inequalities, they give their all to ensure everyone has peace of mind.

RELATE?: The 4 Most Endearing Birth Dates

Scorpio

Scorpios are known to be the “claws of justice,” so they will put themselves in the mix to have a finite resolution to matters. They're an ultimate sign of change and revolution. Because Scorpio is associated with Mars and Pluto, it is a fact that the water sign is one to put itself on the front lines to protest beliefs and ideas it does not agree with. They would throw unfit people out of positions of power and demand unfairness and truths to be revealed at all costs. Plus, Scorpios don't back down and never will from augmenting the world at large.
