General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini is taking to social media to reflect on the series iconic 63rd anniversary.

The Daytime Emmy Award winning executive producer shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), where he posted, “I would like to take a moment and thank all of the fans who have helped General Hospital reach its 63rd Anniversary.”

On April 1, 2008, CBS announced that Guiding Light, the longest-running drama in broadcast history, would end production with its final episode airing on September 18, 2009.

Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Springfield, The Guiding Light followed generations of families navigating love, loss, and legacy. Created by Irna Philips, the series began as a radio drama in 1937 before transitioning to television in 1952.

In its later years, the series experimented with a new production style in an effort to boost ratings. Under executive producer Ellen Wheeler, the show moved away from traditional studio sets, adopting handheld cameras and filming on location in Peapack, New Jersey.

Over the decades, the show centered on several core families, beginning with the Bauers, and later expanding to include the Spauldings, Lewises, and Coopers.

Each family brought a distinct perspective to the series. The Bauers often served as its moral center, with deep ties to the medical field and traditions like the annual Bauer barbecue. The Spauldings embodied wealth and power, often driving corporate storylines, while the Lewises represented “new money” ambition. The Coopers, meanwhile, reflected the show’s blue-collar roots, anchored by the community hub of Company diner.

Over the years, the series featured appearances from actors who would go on to major Hollywood careers, including Kevin Bacon, Christopher Walken, James Earl Jones, Brittany Snow, Cynthia Watros, and Joan Collins.

The series also created enduring soap opera legends, including Kim Zimmer as Reva Shayne and Michael Zaslow as the iconic villain Roger Thorpe.

While the series ended in 2009, fans link the series downfall to the creative decision to kill Maureen Bauer (Ellen Parker) in 1993. After the death of Bert Bauer (Charita Bauer) in 1984, Maureen was set to become the matriarch of the Bauer family. However after finding out her husband Ed (Peter Simon) was having an affair with her best friend Lillian Raines (Tina Sloan), Maureen was killed in a car accident after her car skidded off the road.

Although the show continued for years afterward, the loss of the character marked a significant shift in the series’ dynamic for some viewers.

Ultimately the series finale featured a one-year flash-forward, offering a glimpse into the characters futures. The final moments reunited fan-favorite supercouple Reva Shayne and Joshua Lewis (Robert Newman), bringing the story full circle.

16 years later, on February 24, 2025, CBS in association with Guiding Light production company Procter & Gamble with help from the NAACP launched a brand new soap opera, Beyond The Gates. The first hourlong drama featuring a primarily Black cast. Former Guiding Light cast member Karla Mosley headlines the soap opera as Dani Dupree, continuing on the daytime legacy that began with Guiding Light, 88 years prior.

Singer Evan Ross has been in the spotlight for years thanks to his acting roles, music career and famous family—but his relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson has also drawn plenty of attention.

Who Is Evan Ross Married To?

Evan Ross is married to singer, actress and television personality Ashlee Simpson. The couple got engaged in January 2014 and tied the knot later that year on August 30 at Diana Ross’ estate in Connecticut.

Together, they have two children—daughter Jagger Snow, 10, and son Ziggy Blu, 5. Ross is also stepfather to Simpson’s son Bronx Mowgli, 17, from her previous marriage to Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz.

In 2018, the couple released a joint EP under the name Ashlee + Evan and starred in their own reality series, Ashlee+Evan, which followed their lives and creative process.

Evan Ross on Performing and Keeping Secrets

Ross recently reflected on competing on The Masked Singer season 14. He was revealed as Stingray during the March 18 double elimination. Ross said he really enjoyed stepping into a new creative space.

“I was so sad when it was over,” Ross said. “I loved everybody on that production. You feel like you end up becoming like part of the family. It was great.”

He added that performing anonymously allowed him to experiment in a different way.

“I was excited about the idea that I could do these songs that I loved, and nobody know it's me,” he said.

Ross also noted that keeping his involvement a secret wasn’t always easy—especially within his own family.

“Obviously, siblings and things like that, I know [they] could tell, it's not hard, especially with the clues,” he said, adding, "I think Nick Cannon knew from the moment he saw me.”

But he and Simpson were adament about keeping their kids in the dark because they can't keep a secret.

“We did not tell the kids, because I was very concerned that Jagger and Ziggy would go to school and tell everybody, because I don't think we have any control over that at some point,” he said.

He was also asked about the rumors that his wife is also competing on the show this season, but he played coy, saying, "Man, I don't even know. That would be kind of wild if she was on the show. I feel like she doesn't need good luck. If she's if she's doing anything, she's performing, she's the best there.”

Florence Pugh stepped into the spotlight of Bvlgari’s recent jewelry event in Milan, Italy, with Finn Cole on her arm.

While all eyes were on the couple, as, according to People, this was Pugh’s way of hard-launching her new boyfriend, she stunned the crowd in a yellowish-green Elie Saab strapless dress with a thigh-high slit from their Spring 2026 couture collection.

In an interview with British Vogue in October 2024, Pugh said she was dating someone. However, the actress kept her special someone’s identity hidden until March 31, when she posted photos on Instagram of the Bvlgari jewelry event.

Cole is known for his work in the Netflix show Peaky Blinders, where he portrayed Michael Gray until April 2022. His latest movie, Last Breath, was released in 2025 and also WoodyHarrelson andSimu Liu..

Cole also shared photos of himself and Pugh at Bvlgari’s event, simply captioning the post as “Bvlgari in Milan.”

Fans took to Pugh’s comment section to share their excitement for her relationship with Cole. One fan wrote, “THEY ARE INSTA OFFICIAL OMG.”

When Pugh was interviewed by British Vogue in 2024, she said she and her boyfriend were still figuring out “what [they] actually are.”

“I think for the first time, I’m not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster," Pugh said. "I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.”

Some of the most iconic songs in rock history are famed for their notoriously misheard lyrics, from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" ("There's a bathroom on the right") to "Purple Haze" ("'Scuse me while I kiss this guy") and countless others. Most of the time, though, a song's title isn't too difficult for fans to figure out...but there are exceptions.

A perfect example of a song with a title that stumped listeners (and continues to do so, to this day), is Led Zeppelin's "D’Yer Mak’er." Released on their classic 1973 album Houses of the Holy, the name of the reggae-influenced tune is meant to be pronounced like "Jamaica" with a British accent. Alas, for decades fans who don't know the song's history have been saying "Dire Maker" or "Deer Maker" (or just, "that one song").

So what is the backstory?

As Robert Plant once explained in an interview with DJ Mike Halloran, the song's name came from an old joke which is best read aloud while doing an impression of the singer (or any other English rocker): “My wife's gone to the West Indies.” “Jamaica?” “No, she wanted to go."

Between the silly name and the unexpected sound of the song, "D'Yer Mak'er" divided some fans; as Far Out reported, bassist John Paul Jones apparently thought the track should have remained an in-studio gag.

“I didn’t expect people not to get it," said Jimmy Page in an interview with Dave Schulps, adding, "I thought it was pretty obvious. The song itself was a cross between reggae and a '50s number, 'Poor Little Fool,' Ben E. King's things, stuff like that."

Perhaps understandably, the misunderstanding over "D'Yer Mak'er" was more widespread in the U.S. than the U.K, as the guitarist later revealed in a 2015 interview with Classic Rock.

"In America they had no clue what it meant, and it was just boring to have to explain what it was," Page recalled. "You’d think: why didn’t we name it something else? At least the Brits got it, thank God."

Joke or not, "D'Yer Mak'er" is still an iconic song.

Andrew Wheeler met LibbyVodicka on Age of Attraction. He knew she was younger when she didn't know who the Spice Girls were, but didn't find out she was 22 until they committed to each other. The couple decided to try to make their relationship work after the Netflix series.

The cast had their reunion and gave an update on their lives a year later. Andrew, 39, explained why he's waiting to introduce Libby to his daughters.

Andrew has teenage daughters and is open to having more children. He said at The Viall Filesreunion that he doesn't want to have another kid at 46, and that gives the couple a timeline. Libby said she loves that Andrew is a father and is aware of his timeline for a new baby.

He hasn't introduced her to his kids. "We're trying to figure out the long-distance thing first," the father said. Libby is in San Deigo and he is in Baltimore. Andrew refuses to introduce a partner to his daughters if he doesn't know she is his "forever person" after making that mistake once.

"I want to see that we can move in together, the relationship is headed to us getting engaged, spending the rest of our life together before we make that introduction," he explained.

His daughters do know he's dating Libby. Libby addressed the fact that how they met is on a show for them to watch.

"There's an element of judgment that is going to be made one way or another," she said. "So for me that's the only hard part is I don't want anybody in his family to see a little clip of me and make any assumptions versus me in real life."

Libby also hasn't met the mother of his children. Andrew said it's up to his ex to ask if she wants to meet his girlfriend. The couple is taking their time before considering getting engaged. They claimed their communication is strong, and they visited each other while keeping their relationship a secret to avoid spoilers.

There's no shortage of songs inspired by New York City. From Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" to Billie Holiday's "Autumn in New York" to The Beastie Boys' "No Sleep Till Brooklyn," the Big Apple has been musically honored countless times in just about every genre, but not all of these tunes turned into classics.

One NY-themed song that's been hailed as a fitting tribute to the city that never sleeps for decades is, of course, Billy Joel's 1976 hit, "New York State of Mind." Ranked among the "best songs about New York" by Time Out New York and Paste alike, the song has been striking a chord with New Yorkers since its release on Joel's fourth studio album, Turnstiles.

It makes perfect sense that "New York State of Mind" continues to resonate with so many listeners, considering how much Joel's sincere love for the Empire State comes through in the song. As the singer-songwriter explained in the documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes, he wrote "New York State of Mind" in a burst of appreciation for his birth state after moving back from Los Angeles. He came up with the idea for the tune while riding a Greyhound bus to his newly rented home in Highland Falls on the Hudson River in upstate New York (as the lyrics suggest).

“Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from the neighborhood,” Joel said in the doc, recalling how the words came to him. “I’m in a New York state of mind.”

“The minute I got back to this rented house, and I saw my wife, I said, ‘Do we have a piano?' ‘Yeah, it’s upstairs,'" he continued. "'Let me just go up to the piano.’ Ran up to the piano and wrote the song probably within about an hour. It just came out.”

In the same documentary, rapper Nas (who released a popular song of his own called "N.Y. State of Mind" in 1994) opened up about how much the song affected him as a young boy.

“‘New York State of Mind,’ that one stood out,” he said. “It was a phrase that I heard my dad say all the time with his friends, and I thought it was the most sophisticated, brilliant phrase.”

Interestingly enough, "New York State of Mind" was never released as a single, and Turnstiles — while considered a classic — peaked at just #122 on the Billboard 200. (Don't feel too bad for Joel, though; he went on to have a total of four #1 albums, with 11 landing in the top 10.)

Now, half a century after its release, "New York State of Mind" is just as relevant as ever. At the time of this writing, the song has 113,101,195 streams on Spotify alone.

Roseanne Barr has received a serious health warning from her doctor, and she wants everyone to know she has absolutely no intention of acting on it.

The 73-year-old actress opened up on the Friday, March 27 episode of her podcast, revealing that her doctor recently told her she has a "damaged" heart and urged her to seek further medical care. 

The news left her less than impressed. "He's always sending me to other doctors to check me out, and I'm like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing's wrong?" she said. "And then get in shape so I can have surgery and die on the surgery [table]. I mean, it doesn't make any sense."

Barr was candid about her reasoning, and pretty unfiltered about where she'd rather end up. "I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again in my life and just get a heart attack or a stroke and just be put into a home," she explained. "That is the life. Living in the hospice…That's all I want. You're dying and they give you morphine." 

The blunt comments track with a broader pattern—Barr previously revealed to Fox News Digital in 2025 that she had suffered an injury while mowing her lawn, suggesting her relationship with her own health has always been somewhat laissez-faire.

The podcast return comes after Barr drummed up attention on social media with a clip that had fans doing a double take. She posted a video of herself dancing on top of a coffee table in polka-dot socks to "Fight the Power, Part 1" by The Isley Brothers, sporting her short natural hair. Little kids, likely her grandchildren, could be heard playing in the background. Trader Joe's tried to pull a fast one on April Fools Day. But it completely backfired in the best possible way.

The beloved grocery chain took to Instagram on Wednesday, April 1 with what appeared to be an exciting new product launch: a lip mask flavored like their iconic Chile Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. The tangy, slightly spicy fan-favorite snack is already something of a cult item, so the idea of wearing it on your lips sent followers into a frenzy. The only problem? It was a joke. 

Fans, however, are not ready to let it go—and the comments section quickly filled with customers begging Trader Joe's to make the product a reality.

“The way i would go crazy for this tho,” one user noted while another agreed, “Um is it sad that I would actually use this.”

A third noted, “You know what april fools joke aside i would actually be down for this in real life. Might make a good lip plumper 😂.”

According to new wedding planning reports in US Weekly:

• Date: It's a Summer 2026 wedding, set for Saturday, June 13, 2026. 
• Location: Rhode Island (more on this below).
• Venue: The wedding and surrounding festivities will likely be split between two venues: 1) Swift's $18 million mansion, often referred to as "High Watch" or "Holiday House," which overlooks the Block Island Sound in the Watch Hill area of Westerly, Rhode Island, and 2) A five-star seaside resort perched high on the bluffs, called Ocean House, not too far from Swift's Holiday House.
• Dress: Sources say Swift's wedding gown has been chosen, and it's already getting its alterations. The singer has been known to love Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, and Versace, but mum's the word on which designer she picked.
• Bridal party: Sounds like having formal bridesmaids is out, but being surrounded by close girlfriends, like Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid, is in. Reportedly, Swift has already asked her friends to sleep over at Holiday House on the wedding eve.
• Invitations: No paper invitations by mail so far; likely gotta keep it hush hush. It's a good idea to put nothing in writing!
• Guest list: Sources say the guest list will include about 150 people, "They’ve scaled it down. It’s no longer going to be a massive blowout.” Guest names being floated include several of the couple's celebrity friends include Gomez and Hadid, of course, as well as brotherJason Kelce, actors Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, and Emma Stone, Kansas City Chief's friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes, and the Haim sisters.
• Theme: All that's being reported so far is that the couple will include several traditional elements at their wedding, like having Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, walk her down the aisle and celebrating afterward with father-daughter and mother-son dances.

Is Taylor having a bachelorette party and is Travis having bachelor party?

The US Weekly sources do mention that a bachelorette getaway is in the works, but what about the bachelor party? According to Page Six, Kelce's bachelor party is a go, too, and here are the reported details:

• The bachelor party will be held at the end of of May.
• It will be a "chill trip with his buddies," likely including his brother Jason and Mahomes.
• Kelce and the guys will rent a large-scale villa in the Bahamas.
• There will be golfing.

Where will Taylor and Travis spend their honeymoon?

And what about the honeymoon?

• Recent reports say the couple plans take a three-week honeymoon in the Caribbean (the Bahamas), also hitting Europe (specifically Lake Como, the Italian coast, the French Riviera, Croatia, and Greece) and Asia (Singapore). That's a lot of stops and Taylor and Travis are a busy couple, but hopefully they really can take this kind of time away together to celebrate.

A brand-new teaser for the upcoming Star WarsTV Show Maul: Shadow Lordkicks off with the voice of Emperor Palpatine himself, but that may not mean what you think.

Shadow Lord will be set just after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, in what is known as the Dark Times in the Star Wars timeline. The story, although it's largely been kept under wraps, is confirmed to center on the titular villain Maul, who was once Darth Maul, Palpatine/Darth Sidious' Sith apprentice.

However, after Maul's apparent death in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Palpatine brought on a new apprentice, Count Dooku, who took Maul's place. He, too, was eventually replaced when Anakin Skywalker decapitated him in Revenge of the Sith and ultimately became Palpatine's new Sith apprentice, the infamous Darth Vader.

It is that specific succession that the new Shadow Lord teaser seems to reference. The video, posted to Star Wars' official Instagram account, begins with Palpatine's voice (presumably speaking to Maul) saying, "You have been replaced" and then doing his signature evil laugh.

Some have begun to speculate that this means yet another Palpatine appearance in Star Wars—a touchy subject after his extremely controversial sudden appearance in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, the specific line Palpatine delivers in the teaser is telling. While it's possible that Palpatine will be a character in the show, it seems more likely that this concept that Palpatine replaced him will frame Maul's Shadow Lord story.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars already laid the groundwork for that, with Maul telling Ahsoka Tano how he had been cast aside by Palpatine during the Siege of Mandalore battle. Given that Shadow Lord is going to show how Maul survived during the Dark Times, it would make sense for the show to depict his anger and bitterness over being replaced and explore how that shaped his story in the long term.

The teaser also offers an interesting twist on Star Wars' previous mantra, "I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me." Maul's version is apparently, "I master the Force, and the Force serves me," which is a complete reversal of how the Force is meant to be used. This, too, sets up a fascinating focus for Shadow Lord, which may offer audiences a much closer look at how differently dark side Force-users view (and use) the Force.

Breakups are hard, and listening to some well-known tracks about a broken heart and losing someone somehow makes it better. In 1971, Bill Withersreleased his debut album with a hit track that became known as one of the best breakup anthems to ever be released.

UDiscoverMusic created a list of some of the most iconic breakup songs, dating from the 60s to 70s classics to modern-day hits. While many sing about unrequited love, harsh relationships that aren't working, and the woes of what it means to love, one song is universally known.

Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" became a favorite for good reason and became a career-defining breakthrough hit for the singer. The track has become a relationship staple and has been covered by multiple artists since its release, not to mention it has an all-star lineup of collaborators.

The track was released as part of Withers' debut album titled Just As I Am. It included Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass guitar, Al Jackson Jr. on drums, and Stephen Stills on guitar. All who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their work in the industry. It was originally released as a single and as the B-Side to another song called "Harlem."

As the story goes, Withers was inspired to write the song after watching the 1962 movie Days of Wine and Roses starring Lee Remick and Jack Lemmon. He saw their relationship as being toxic, but something many people sometimes can't stop themselves from going back to.

"They were both alcoholics who were alternately weak and strong. It's like going back for seconds on rat poison. Sometimes you miss things that weren't particularly good for you. It's just something that crossed my mind from watching that movie, and probably something else that happened in my life that I'm not aware of," he said, according to Smooth Radio.

At the time he wrote the track, Withers was a factory worker and took the advice of keeping the repeating phrase "I know" 26 times. It ultimately became a staple of the hit track and led "Ain't No Sunshine" to hit the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 3 and R&B charts at No. 6.

It was tagged by Billboard as being one of the biggest hit singles to have been released in 1971, and earned Withers a gold record. The record company reportedly gave Withers a gold toilet seat to mark the start of his career, seeing as he worked making lavatories for airplanes.

"Ain't No Sunshine" also became certified platinum in multiple countries and was listed by Rolling Stone as one of the "greatest Songs of All Time." It even led the Library of Congress to add the track to their National Recording Registry in 2024. The song's fame also led Michael Jackson to record his own version in 1971 for his debut album Got to Be There.

Hallmark Media officially shut down its TV Everywhere app on March 31, 2026. That means the free app that let cable and satellite subscribers log in with their provider credentials to watch Hallmark content on streaming devices is now gone.

The news has understandably rattled some fans, so let's break down exactly what happened and what your options are going forward.

What was the Hallmark TV Everywhere app?

A TV Everywhere app lets you use your existing cable or satellite login to watch a network's content on devices beyond your television—like on your phone, tablet, Roku, Amazon Fire Stick or other similar streaming devices. The Hallmark version featured on-demand access to programming from Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery and Hallmark Family.

It was free to download and didn't require a separate subscription beyond your existing cable or satellite package, which is why Hallmark fans loved it!

Why did Hallmark shut it down?

Hallmark stated that rising costs to operate across dozens of device ecosystems—and declining engagement with the app compared to larger streaming platforms—were to blame for the decision.

But here's the thing: Hallmark isn't alone in this. Disney (ABC, Freeform, FX, NatGeo), Paramount (Comedy Central, CMT, MTV, TV Land), Warner Bros. Discovery and NBC have all made similar moves in recent years. It makes sense when you think about it—networks are consolidating their digital efforts and pushing viewers toward their own dedicated platforms. For example, they'd rather people use Hallmark+ to stream content rather than go through a free app using their cable login because Hallmark+ is a paid subscription that—unlike TV Everywhere—generates revenue and gives Hallmark full control over the viewer relationship.

Is Hallmark Channel shutting down?

No. Hallmark's linear cable channels—Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery and Hallmark Family—remain fully operational for subscribers with traditional cable or satellite packages. This change only affects TV Everywhere.

How Can I Still Watch Hallmark?

Not to worry—you have plenty of options! Your cable or satellite provider still carries Hallmark's channels through your set-top box, just as it always has.

Hallmark's separate Hallmark+ streaming service also continues to operate outside of the cable TV realm. For $7.99 a month (or $79.99 a year), it offers ad-free, on-demand access to hit original movies and fan-favorite shows like When Calls the Heart.

Why have so many studios/networks stopped using TV Everywhere?

Shifting trends—as well as the push toward their own platforms—are likely the reasons many studios and networks have chosen to discontinue use of TV Everywhere apps.

How can I watch Hallmark Channel?

Hallmark Channel will still be broadcast through your cable/satellite provider. For cord-cutters who want live Hallmark channels, several streaming services carry them. Frndly TV is the most affordable option. I do want to note that while both Hallmark+ and Frndly TV are similarly priced—starting at $7.99 and $8.99, respectively—they offer different things: Hallmark+ is for exclusive original series and perks, while Frndly TV is for watching the live broadcast as it airs.

Other services that carry Hallmark Channel include Sling TV (with the Lifestyle Extra add-on), Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, YouTube TV and DIRECTV Stream.

Will refunds be issued?

No refunds are necessary. The TV Everywhere app was always free—it simply required a valid cable or satellite subscription to log in.

Are viewers upset?

Reactions have been mixed. Some longtime users are frustrated by the loss of its convenient access on their streaming devices. But with so many alternative ways to watch, most fans seem to be taking the change in stride and finding a new path to get their Hallmark fix!
