’70s Rock Legend’s Band Member Quits After Seven Years
Bob Dylan’s touring group is dealing with major changes amid his 2026 U.S. Summer Tour.
After the 35-date run kicked off in Oregon on June 4, a longtime member of the iconic singer’s touring band has officially called it quits.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Bob Britt, who has been the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s acoustic guitar player since 2019, announced his departure from Dylan’s team.
Fans managed to capture his social media update on Reddit, which included a cryptic post showcasing a flight route map from Austin to Nashville with the phrase "Sayonara Bobby."
Bob Dylan performs as a surprise guest during Farm Aid at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in 2023.Britt also responded to a comment from a fan, noting "I quit," which appears to confirm his exit.
The comment section was filled with support for the touring member while some fans also expressed questions about who would replace him.
“He's had a good run with Bob overall ... Hope he's happier taking the break and I'm sure Bob will find a suitable replacement,” one wrote.
“There were not good vibes in ABQ last night. I was there. Lots of thoughts on expecting rain,” a commenter said, referring to a show at the Sandia Casino Amphitheatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Fans have also suggested possible replacements.
“He should get John R Miller to play instead,” a fan mentioned.
“Bob needs to get Stephen Pearcy and Warren DiMartini in the band. It’s destiny,” a Reddit user said.
While there has been no official statement from Bob Dylan or his management, the longtime guitarist’s decision to exit the touring band came after Doug Lancio reportedly left the band.
As the electric guitarist, he quietly left the band, according to the Los Angeles Times, and has been replaced on the current tour by Julian Lage, a Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist.
Lancio had been with Dylan for five years after officially joining the band in 2021 during the Rough and Rowdy Ways world tour.
On the other hand, the iconic musician is currently continuing the remainder of his U.S. Summer tour with special guests John Doe, Lucinda Williams, Jimmie Vaughn and Brittney Spencer on selected dates.

1984 Comic-Con's Early Start: How the Olympics Caused a Stir
In a matter of weeks, fans of movies, TV shows and, of course, comics will descend on Southern California for the convention of all conventions.
San Diego Comic-Con will return for yet another iteration, with the annual event having expanded in recent decades to incorporate the more modern forms of entertainment — such as those gracing the big and small screens.
And in honor of all the building hype for the 2026 convention, let's look at a unique milestone the organization just hit. Sunday, June 28 marks exactly 42 years since the 17th San Diego Comic-Con kicked off, at Hotel San Diego.
We say "unique" since the tourist attraction usually launches later the following month — just look at this year's July 23 timing as proof.
The reason 1984's schedule was off was the Los Angeles Olympics, which had convinced Comic-Con organizers to hold it earlier than usual, according to The Orange County Register.
For those not familiar, here's the event's official description as of 2026, per its website:
"Comic-Con is the premier event for all things comics and related popular art, including movies, television, gaming, interactive multimedia, and so much more! Enjoy cosplay galore and take part in unique programming, exclusive previews, and presentations, not to mention the expansive and diverse Exhibit Hall featuring merchandise and displays representing all fandoms."
View this post on InstagramIn other Comic-Con news, Mattel Creations announced earlier this month a new WWE Elite 3-Pack that will feature the first-ever WWE action figure inspired by Cyndi Lauper, who once helped bring professional wrestling into the pop culture mainstream. The collectible set is scheduled to debut as an exclusive release at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and celebrates one of the most memorable celebrity crossovers in wrestling history.
The set includes figures of Lauper, 73, alongside wrestling legends Roddy Piper and Captain Lou Albano, paying tribute to WWE’s groundbreaking “Rock ‘N’ Wrestling” era of the 1980s.
Aldi's 4-Pack of a Foldable Kitchen Must-Have Make Meal Prep So Convenient
The humble cutting board might just be the hardest-working tool in the kitchen. Sure, your knives get all the attention, but they're only as useful as the surface underneath them. A good cutting board protects your countertops from countless scrapes, gives you a stable place to prep everything, and makes it easy to scoop chopped ingredients straight into a pot, pan or mixing bowl. And, listen, when snack time rolls around, it can pull double duty as an impromptu charcuterie board without missing a beat.
Of course, not all cutting boards deserve the same praise. Some are bulky and awkward to clean, while others stain easily or slide around the counter when you're trying to chop. The best ones make kitchen prep feel easier, whether that's with a non-slip backing, a surface that's gentle on knives or a flexible design that lets you funnel ingredients exactly where they need to go instead of scattering them across the stovetop.

Crofton Antibacterial Flexible Cutting Mats, $4.99 at Aldi Crofton Antibacterial Flexible Cutting MatsAldi
Every once in a while Aldi busts out a set of foldable cutting boards that make meal prep so much easier, and they've done it again with these Crofton Antibacterial Flexible Cutting Mats. Not only is a four-pack of these only $4.99, the set comes in a rainbow of colors and sizes. There are small to large rectangle cutting mats in green, peach, purple and blue.
The biggest advantage to a flexible cutting mat is in the name: they bend. Instead of trying to awkwardly scoop chopped onions, peppers or herbs off a rigid cutting board, you can simply curl the mat into a funnel and slide everything neatly into a pan or bowl with far fewer escapees landing on the counter or floor.

They're also lightweight, easy to stash in a drawer and a breeze to clean, which makes them perfect for everyday meal prep. And since these come in different colors, it's easy to keep one for raw meat, another for produce and another for bread or cooked foods. They still protect your countertops like a traditional cutting board, but they're much easier to store and handle. It's the kind of practical kitchen upgrade you don't think much about until you realize it has made cooking a little less messy and a lot more convenient.
Buc-ee’s Newest Location Had an Hours-Long Line at 4 A.M. for This Sandwich
The hype surrounding Arizona's first Buc-ee's doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
In a Reddit post shared on Friday, June 26, one customer claimed they stopped by the new Goodyear location a few days after its grand opening around 4 a.m. and were met with more than an hour-long wait for one of the chain's famous brisket sandwiches.
The shopper described the scene as "absolute pandemonium unlike anything i've ever seen at any establishment in the middle of the night."
According to the post, shelves stocked with Buc-ee's branded snacks and merchandise had already been picked over, leaving "absolutely nothing but scraps left." They also claimed traffic was backed up for nearly a mile as drivers waited to enter the property.
"Okay first of all, i love the buc as much as the next guy, but there's not a single thing in there worth waiting an hour for at any hour of day, especially not in the middle of the night," the Redditor wrote. Still, they wondered whether the frenzy was simply part of opening a Buc-ee's in a state that had never had one before.
Arizona's first Buc-ee's drew huge crowdsThe Reddit post comes just days after Buc-ee's opened its first-ever Arizona location on June 22—the chain's westernmost store to date.
Thousands of fans turned out for the grand opening in Goodyear, with some camping overnight in triple-digit temperatures and one traveler reportedly flying in from Australia just to attend.

Even co-founder and CEO Arch "Beaver" Aplin III admitted the turnout exceeded his expectations. "I knew it would be big," Aplin said, per Arizona Family. "It even exceeded what I was expecting." He also hitned that more Arizona locations could be on the horizon.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs also attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, noting, "People plan road trips around Buc-ee's locations, and now one of those locations is here in Arizona."
More Buc-ee's locations are on the wayArizona won't be the last state celebrating a Buc-ee's opening. The chain—which first opened in 1982 Lake Jackson, Texas—is set to open new stores later this year in San Marcos, Texas; Benton, Arkansas; and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, before expanding into additional states through 2031, including Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and more.
And if the crowds in Goodyear are any indication, those future openings may want to prepare for some very early morning visitors, too.

1974 Timeless Classic, Written for a Jukebox, Was a No. 1 Hit 52 Years Ago Today
Sometimes the song that changes everything is the one nobody expects.
That was the case for Mickey Gilley's version of "Room Full of Roses." Fifty-two years ago today, the country classic reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, giving Gilley the first chart-topper of his remarkable career. But when he recorded it, he never imagined it would become a national hit.
The song had already been around for decades.
Written by Tim Spencer of the Sons of the Pioneers, "Room Full of Roses" was first recorded by George Morgan in 1949, reaching No. 4 on the country chart. Over the following years, it was covered by artists including Jim Reeves and Dean Martin, becoming a familiar standard long before Gilley ever sang it.
By the early 1970s, Gilley was making a name for himself in Texas through his Pasadena nightclub, Gilley's Club, while recording songs for his independent Astro label. The sessions weren't aimed at launching a major recording career. Instead, they were largely intended to provide fresh music for local jukebox operators.
"I was doing construction work in Houston, Jerry Lee [Lewis] had gone to Memphis, and Jimmy [Swaggart] went down to Baton Rouge to start his ministry," Gilley told the Santa Fe New Mexican. "I was making a dollar and 25 cents an hour doing construction work. Jerry Lee came into town singing 'Whole Lotta Shakin'. And I saw how well he was doing in the music business and I’m thinking if he can do this, I can too. I thought I could go out on the road, play piano, and do the same thing. I'd just cut a record and I'd become a star. It didn't happen, but I thought that at the time. Seventeen years later, I have a number-one song on the charts called 'A Room Full of Roses.'"
Ironically, Gilley didn’t even think "Room Full of Roses" was the strongest song from the recording session. He preferred the A-side, "She Called Me Baby," and later admitted he wasn’t particularly fond of the production on "Room Full of Roses," believing it contained too much echo and too many imperfections.
Listeners, however, had other ideas.
After local radio stations began giving the song airplay, demand quickly spread beyond Texas. Playboy Records picked up the recording for national distribution, and "Room Full of Roses" steadily climbed the country charts before reaching No. 1 in 1974. The surprise hit also crossed over onto the Billboard Hot 100, instantly transforming Gilley into one of country music's newest stars.
The breakthrough proved to be only the beginning. Gilley went on to earn 17 No. 1 country singles during his career, while Gilley's Club became a cultural landmark after inspiring the 1980 film Urban Cowboy.
"Gilley's will seat probably comfortable about 4,000 people, 3,500-4,000," Gilley said in a 1982 interview. "Now, of course, if you take up the dance floor and you set it up concert style, you can probably put somewhere between 5 to 5,500 in the club, but we've just finished another project next door to Gilley's that's connected to the club that we call the rodeo arena. It'll seat in the stands alone 7,500 people and we just finished promoting a concert with Willie Nelson there. We intend to use the rodeo arena to promote concerts and rodeos. [...] Of course, Gilley's is a honkytonk and it's a place to let your hair down and have a good time. It's not a supper club. People come to the club and they say I can't believe Mickey Gilley's got his name on this club. This club is what got me started. It gives me something to grasp for and to look forward to."
Together, his music and legendary honky-tonk helped define an era when country music reached an even wider audience.
More than 50 years after topping the charts, "Room Full of Roses" remains the song that changed Mickey Gilley's life. What started as a modest recording intended for jukebox play ultimately became one of country music's most unlikely success stories, proving that sometimes the biggest hits come from the most unexpected places.

2014 Adaptation of the Bestselling Novel That Shocked a Generation of Readers Is Trending on Netflix
Nearly 50 years after Flowers in the Attic shocked readers and became one of the bestselling gothic psychological thrillers of all time, the story is captivating a new generation thanks to its 2014 Heather Graham-led film adaptation, now trending on Netflix. Since V.C. Andrews' controversial debut novel was published in 1979, Flowers in the Attic has remained a cultural phenomenon, passed between friends, debated by critics, and embraced by generations of readers who couldn't put it down.
For countless Gen X readers (including this writer), Flowers in the Attic wasn't simply a bestseller—it was the book everyone whispered about, borrowed from older siblings, hid from parents, and stayed up far too late reading under the covers. Now, nearly five decades later, the story is finding an entirely new audience through Netflix.
Why the 2014 Flowers in the Attic Adaptation Is Trending on Netflix View this post on InstagramFans of the dark gothic novel waited years for a film adaptation, hoping whoever brought the controversial story to the screen would remain faithful to the novel's unforgettable twists and unsettling themes. In 2014, Lifetime answered that call with a television adaptation starring Heather Graham, Kiernan Shipka, and Ellen Burstyn. The film became one of the network's biggest original movie events, earning strong ratings while introducing a younger generation to the novel that had become a rite of passage for so many readers decades earlier.
On June 14, 2026, Netflix added the Heather Graham-starring adaptation to its streaming library, where fans quickly propelled it to the No. 2 spot. Graham also celebrated the film's resurgence on Instagram while filming Season 5 of HBO's The White Lotusin the South of France, writing:
“Flew to the South of France to work on @thewhitelotus and turned it into a vacation with @mcivetta @ninabergman @debrajfisher ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The beach is so beautiful at Cap d’Ail.
It was fun to see @theywillkillyoumovie debut at #1 on @hbo and Flowers in the Attic trending at #2 on @netflix 🎉”
Why Fans Prefer the 2014 AdaptationThe 2014 adaptation remains a favorite among longtime readers because of its faithful approach to Andrews' novel. Unlike the 1987 theatrical film, which omitted or softened several of the book's most controversial moments, the Lifetime version embraces the gothic atmosphere, psychological tension, and emotionally complex family dynamics that made the novel so unforgettable.
Andrews' debut novel centers on four siblings hidden away in their wealthy grandparents' attic following the death of their father. As years of isolation, manipulation, and abuse unfold, so do devastating family secrets, including the novel's infamous themes of incest and generational trauma. What begins as a gothic family drama gradually transforms into one of the most talked-about psychological thrillers of its era.
Why Flowers in the Attic Continues to Find New FansThe film's arrival on Netflix is introducing Flowers in the Attic to an entirely new generation while giving longtime readers another reason to revisit one of the defining novels of their youth. Nearly 50 years after it first sparked controversy, the story continues to fascinate audiences with its gothic suspense, taboo themes, and unforgettable characters. For those who grew up reading the novel, the film's streaming success feels like revisiting a formative cultural moment. For younger viewers discovering it for the first time, it's proof that some stories remain impossible to forget, no matter how much time has passed.

1995 Film Was Just Ranked the 'Scariest Mystery Movie of All Time'
While most mystery movies are full of suspense, not every one can be considered a terrifying experience for viewers. However, there are quite a few mystery movies that have enough scary scenes that could rival a horror movie.
For instance, in June 2026, Collider published a ranking of "the 10 scariest mystery movies of all time," that included films like 1988's The Vanishing, The Wicker Man from 1973, Jacob's Ladder, released in 1990, and Zodiacfrom 2007. The publication named the David Fincher-directed movie Se7en the most terrifying film from the mystery genre.
David Fincher Cleared up a Rumor About the Sloth Scene in 'Se7en'In a February 2025 interview with CinemaBlend, Fincher cleared up a long-standing rumor about one of the scariest moments in Se7en. Fincher addressed that some fans of the film believe that John C. McGinley's alarmed reaction in the Sloth scene was genuine because he didn't know the barely-alive victim wasn't a mannequin.
Fincher explained that there was no way to hide that the Sloth victim was being played by actor Michael Reid MacKay from any member of the cast or crew. He said MacKay was in makeup for "six or seven hours" before shooting the scene. MacKay also had to be "transported" in a noticeable way on set to ensure his makeup, which included gelatin, stayed intact.
"The idea that we could keep that a secret is in and of itself, like, that would have been an entire act for the game. I don't know how that would have been possible," said Fincher in the CinemaBlend interview.
Fincher then said that McGinley's alarmed reaction seemed genuine because the actor is able to expertly play big emotions.
"McGinley likes a big response, so you know, if you need somebody to jump out of their skin, like, get John, because he can do it," said the director.
Fincher also let fans know that the infamous scene took "19 takes" to get the now-iconic shot.
'60s Rock Band, Disbanded After Two Years, Ranked 'Best Supergroup' of All Time
Cream, the iconic British rock power trio, continues to cement its legendary status in music after being recognized as one of the greatest supergroups in history.
Formed in 1966 by three highly influential musicians, guitarist Eric Clapton from The Yardbirds and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, bassist and lead vocalist Jack Bruce of The Graham Bond Organisation and drummer Ginger Baker from Blues Incorporated and The Graham Bond Organisation, the group managed to captivate fans with their impressive live performances, blazing technical skills and signature anthems such as "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room," "Crossroads" and "Badge."
Despite their short run, Louder Sound named Cream one of the "best supergroups in rock history," securing the No. 1 spot.
Described by the outlet as a band that "influenced an entire generation of musicians," the London-based band's unique chemistry and groundbreaking albums made it the blueprint for future groups, earning Cream recognition as the world's first true rock supergroup.
Cream based its name on the trio's already established careers. They were considered the "cream of the crop" among musicians in the U.K., hence the band's name.

Over the course of their brief but groundbreaking career, the British rock stars released four successful albums, starting with their acclaimed debut, Fresh Cream, in 1966.
The album delivered a blend of rock and heavy blues that introduced Cream as a supergroup.
Featuring standout tracks including "Spoonful," "Toad" and "I Feel Free," the album helped establish the band's signature sound, with "I Feel Free" peaking at No. 11 on the UK Official Singles Chart.
Rock critic Dave Marsh described the band as "the fastest, loudest, most overpowering blues-based rock ever heard, particularly onstage," as mentioned on Baker's official website.
The trio continued its success with the release of its sophomore album, Disraeli Gears.
The psychedelic masterpiece featured the band's most famous anthem, "Sunshine of Your Love," which became Cream's highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 5.
It seemed like nothing could stop the band's momentum after the release of its third album the following year. Wheels of Fire made history as the world's first platinum-selling double album.
Unfortunately, internal issues, especially the relationship between Baker and Bruce and the grueling touring schedule, forced the band to split up.
Adding to the band's growing tensions, its record label, Atlantic Records, prioritized financial gain over the trio's well-being, pushing Cream to overwork.
"It was enjoyable until they broke the band’s spirit by putting us on the one-nighters for seven months without anybody to help us," Bruce mentioned in an interview cited by American Songwriter, adding, "That was what destroyed us."
Despite being together for just over two years, Cream left an enduring mark on rock history, redefining the genre through its pioneering role as one of music's greatest supergroups.

7 ’80s Songs You Forgot You Knew Every Word To
If an old lyric suddenly clears out the cobwebs in your brain while you're still cycling through your children's names, congratulations: you've probably stumbled onto one of those '80s songs you forgot you knew by heart.
Some songs don't need an introduction. You may not have heard them in years, but the moment those opening notes hit, you're back in your first car, at the roller rink, or glued to MTV after school—singing every word without even realizing it. Music has a unique way of unlocking memories, and these seven hits are proof. While they aren't staples on today's playlists, they were once impossible to escape. Decades later, they're still capable of triggering an instant singalong—and a powerful wave of nostalgia.
Dust off that old Walkman and go back in time...
- "One Night in Bancock" by Murray Head (1984) became an unforgettable ’80s hit thanks to its sharp satire, clever wordplay, and unusual structure. Written by Tim Rice and ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus for the musical Chess, the song contrasts the intellectual world of competitive chess with Bangkok’s chaotic nightlife, using humor and double entendres to mock Western stereotypes. Its cynical lyrics capture culture shock and the arrogance of a visitor convinced he understands the city. The song’s staying power also comes from its unique sound: Murray Head’s cool, spoken-word verses collide with the dramatic, soaring chorus that made it impossible to forget.
2. "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday (1985) remains unforgettable because it turns emotional vulnerability and relationship struggles into a powerful pop anthem. Aimee Mann’s restrained, almost anxious vocals in the verses build tension before exploding into the song’s iconic chorus, capturing the frustration of feeling silenced. The lyrics explore control, insecurity, and the fight to reclaim your own voice—feelings that still resonate decades later. The unforgettable MTV video helped cement the song’s legacy, transforming its story of a woman pushing back against a controlling relationship into a defining moment of ’80s pop culture.
3. "The Promise" by When in Rome (1987) continues to be an enduring ’80s favorite because it captures the feeling of unwavering loyalty with a uniquely confident romantic edge. The song’s chorus delivers a comforting message of being there for someone when they need it most, while its lyrics mix vulnerability with a bold determination to win someone over. That balance of reassurance and persistence gives the track its emotional pull. The song’s memorable sound is also elevated by the contrast between the singers’ deep, steady vocals and the chorus's soaring urgency, creating the perfect mix of nostalgia and longing.
4. Electric Blue by Icehouse (1987) is an unforgettable ’80s earworm thanks to its hypnotic chorus, shimmering synth-pop production, and a surprising songwriting collaboration. The song was co-written by Icehouse frontman Iva Davies and John Oates of Hall & Oates, who also contributed backing vocals. Inspired by the striking image of someone with unforgettable blue eyes, the track turns a simple phrase into a powerful pop hook. Repeating “electric blue” throughout the chorus gives the song its instant singalong quality, while the lush synthesizers and driving rhythm make the melody impossible to shake. It’s a perfect example of ’80s pop magic.
5. "Boys of Summer" by Don Henley (1984) turns a breakup song into a meditation on memory, aging, and the feeling of watching your youth disappear. Its haunting verses paint a lonely picture of empty roads and beaches, while the soaring chorus adds a bittersweet sense of hope. The lyrics capture the painful realization that love and time can’t be reclaimed, especially in the line "I thought I knew what love was, what did I know?" The song’s most iconic moment—the image of a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac—became a sharp symbol of changing times and lost idealism.
6. "Promises Promises" by Nakes Eyes (1983) captures the complicated mix of hope, heartbreak, and disappointment that comes with broken trust. The lyrics feel like a real conversation, with the frustration of believing someone who never intended to keep their word. Lines about retreating after being hurt again perfectly capture the cycle of wanting to trust while protecting yourself. The emotional weight of the song is amplified by Pete Byrne’s cool yet wounded delivery and the glossy synth-pop production, creating that classic ’80s contrast: an upbeat melody carrying a surprisingly painful message beneath the surface.
7. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears (1985) disguises anxiety and deeper questions about power beneath an irresistible pop melody. Released during the height of Cold War tensions, the song reflects fears about control, conflict, and humanity’s endless search for security. Its lyrics explore the gap between wanting freedom and chasing power, while questioning the world around us. That contrast—bright, catchy music paired with darker themes—is what makes the song timeless. The simple, instantly recognizable chorus transforms a complicated message into one of the decade’s most memorable sing-alongs.

After catching up on all the drama that had taken place, both on the Island and in Casa, she hosted the "Hot Girl Bakery" challenge, which reintroduced two bombshells to the game in Casa Amor: Amora Carl Schmidt and Amora “Amora Cachee” Robinson.
Megan Thee Stallion previously appeared in Love Island USA Season 7 when she hosted the “Build a Bombshell” challenge that introduced then-new bombshells, TJ Palma and Andreina Santos. T.J. Maxx Is Selling a Cordless Lamp With the Most Elegant Scalloped Capiz Shade

If you've ever spotted a lamp, tray or decorative box with a soft, pearly shimmer and found yourself wondering what it's made of, there's a good chance you were looking at capiz shell—or at least a material designed to mimic the look. Fun fact: Capiz shell comes from the windowpane oyster and it's beloved for its signature, almost Opalite glow.
The shells have a naturally iridescent finish that catches light in a way that feels elegant, making them a favorite in everything from lighting to wall decor. Even when a piece isn't made from genuine Capiz, designers often want to engineer the same luminous effect because it works just as well in breezy coastal rooms as it does in more modern homes.

Shop It!Tahari's Capiz Shade Rechargeable Table Lamp at T.J. Maxx pairs a shimmering capiz shell shade with a sleek gold-tone base. The simple silhouette keeps it versatile enough for everything from a bedside table to a bookshelf or reading nook. Plus, at 16 inches tall, it's compact enough to fit in smaller spaces but still makes a noticeable design statement.
There are also some really thoughtful features included that make it especially easy to live with. Because it's rechargeable and cordless, you can move it wherever you need a little extra light without being tied to an outlet, and it comes with a charging cable so it's ready to go.

Touch controls make it so simple to switch between three lighting modes or adjust the brightness with the built-in dimming feature, so it's just as useful for reading as it is for creating a softer glow in the evening. The lamp even includes the 2-watt LED bulb, so there's nothing extra to pick up before using it.
T.J. Maxx has lots of great home decor items, in fact, sometimes I find its selection is even better than its sister store HomeGoods, mainly because the home department is smaller and more tightly curated. Like right now the retailer has some beautiful area rugs at a great price and tons of gorgeous throw pillows that look hand-stitched (even if they aren't). It's always worth a look at the home department when you're shopping at T.J. Maxx, even if you initially just went there for a cute new pair of shoes (as I, personally, so often do).

Best-Selling Author’s Classic Novel Ranked Among ‘Most Read Books’ in United States on Goodreads
Some books become bestsellers the moment they're published. Others simply wait for the right generation to discover them.
That's the story behind I Who Have Never Known Men, the haunting dystopian novel by Belgian author Jacqueline Harpman. Originally published in French in 1995 under the title Moi qui n’ai pas connu les hommes, the novel has surged back into the spotlight nearly three decades later, recently ranking among Goodreads most-read books of the year. Its remarkable resurgence follows an explosion in popularity across BookTok and other social media communities, where readers have embraced its unsettling story and philosophical themes.
The novel has taken an unusual path to modern success.
After its original French publication, Harpman's novel was translated into English by Ros Schwartz in 1997.
"In those days there was no internet," Schwartz told Musing. "I corresponded with Harpman by snail mail. I asked her a handful of questions to which she replied. I wouldn't call it guidance but rather clarification."
View this post on InstagramThe first English-language edition appeared in the United Kingdom under the title Mistress of Silence, while the U.S. edition was published the same year as I Who Have Never Known Men, the title that has remained attached to subsequent editions. A revised translation and a 2022 reissue introduced the novel to a new audience after years of relative obscurity.
The story follows a young girl imprisoned underground alongside 39 women, guarded by silent men for reasons none of them can explain. When the captives finally escape, they discover a vast, empty landscape and begin searching for answers about the mysterious world around them. Blending dystopian fiction with philosophical reflection, the novel explores identity, freedom, memory and what it means to be human.
For years, the book remained a hidden gem known primarily among readers of translated fiction. That changed dramatically after readers on TikTok and BookTok began recommending it as one of the most unforgettable novels they had ever read. The viral enthusiasm fueled a remarkable revival, with the reissued edition selling more than 100,000 copies in the United States during 2024 and earning widespread acclaim from a new generation of readers.
Its newfound popularity has also transformed Harpman's legacy. Although the Belgian novelist, who died in 2012, wrote numerous acclaimed works throughout her career, I Who Have Never Known Men has become her best-known novel internationally. What was once a quietly admired work of literary science fiction has evolved into one of the defining viral book success stories of the decade.
"There is something essentially uplifting in the women's quest for survival and ability to adapt in I Who Have Never Known Men," said Schwartz.
Nearly 30 years after it first appeared in French bookstores, I Who Have Never Known Men is reaching more readers than ever before. Its place among Goodreads' most-read books this year demonstrates how a powerful story can transcend languages, generations and even decades, proving that some literary classics simply need time to find the audience they deserve.

AMC Unveils Limited-Edition IMAX Camera Popcorn Bucket With Real Viewfinder for 'The Odyssey'
One of the most anticipated movies of 2026 is set to open on July 17, and now movie-goers can get a sneak peek at a special limited-edition popcorn bucket that hits theaters just in time for The Odyssey’s premiere.
AMC Theatres recently gave fans a glimpse of one of the most intricate, amazing, and just plain awesome cinematic-themed swag of all time—the IMAX camera bucket. And if you’re thinking, “So what? It’s shaped like a camera. Big deal,” look again.
Sure, it holds popcorn. But that’s not all. AMC Theatres recently explained in an Instagram post featuring the collectible, “See The Odyssey and bring home an IMAX Camera popcorn bucket with a working viewfinder!”
Along with the explainer, the post also features a video of celebs such as Odysseus himself (Matt Damon), as well as other superstar cast members Zendaya, Lupito Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Holland, all oohing and ahhing over the buckets.
View this post on Instagram Why are AMC Theatres debuting IMAX popcorn buckets for ‘The Odyssey’?Of course, AMC didn’t just randomly decide to tie this camera-shaped popcorn bucket to any movie. The theater has a real reason for choosing this as one of The Odyssey’s collectibles.
Christopher Nolan’s epic is shot entirely on 70mm IMAX cameras. That makes it the first full-length feature blockbuster to be filmed using this type of technology. And while AMC Theatres already teased the kind of creepy, but still utterly well-received, Trojan Horse popcorn bucket (because, why not eat a salty snack from the belly of a horse?) a few weeks ago, the addition of the IMAX bucket is an unexpected option that fans are already kind of obsessed with.
View this post on InstagramThe announcement in AMC’s recent Instagram post got plenty of attention, with commenters sharing, “It’s gonna be sold out in 2 min”, “I need 40 of those,” and “Def need one of these. Looks awesome.”
How to get a collectible IMAX Popcorn Bucket for ‘The Odyssey’According to AMC, the limited-edition buckets are available in theaters on July 16 and sell for $49.99 while supplies last. The battery-operated light-up LED screen shows images from the film, making it truly a treat for fans (and maybe even worth the almost-$50 price tag).
1980 New Wave Song By Ex-Beatle Topped the Charts as a Live Recording
Each of The Beatles would ultimately embark on their own side quests and solo ventures following the iconic band's success.
Most notably is Sir Paul McCartney, who is still keeping busy with making and performing music for his countless fans around the world.
Sunday, June 28 marks 46 years since one of his many hit singles topped the music charts, which is worth mentioning since "Coming Up" in focus is one of the few "live" recordings to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
American disc jockeys reportedly preferred it to the studio version on the flip side of the record. The "Live At Glasgow" recording remained at the top of the Billboard survey for three weeks.
Listen to the chart-topping version by McCartney, 84, below.
Fans are still commenting on the YouTube upload to show their appreciation for "Coming Up," even into this last year. "Has a nice 70s vibe he is so cute I like it and get down get down so sweet just love it," wrote one user earlier in 2026, while another person commented, "God. I MISS THE 70s! 😢❤"
In other McCartney news, Saturday Night Livestar Sarah Sherman told People earlier this month the amusing yet hair-raising story of when she met the former Beatle.
Sherman, 33, had previously mentioned that her trademark mullet hairstyle reminded her of look McCartney sported in his youth. So when the music legend appeared on SNL May 16 with Will Ferrell, he made a comment to the comedian about her style.
“So, basically I was doing a bit talking about how I have his mullet from his Wings era,” she said during the 5th Annual Las Culturistas Culture Awards at the United Theater in Los Angeles on May 30. “And so he came up to me after the show and he pulled up my mullet and he was like, ‘Is it real or is it a wig?'" Find out the rest of the rest of the story here.
1976 Classic Ballad, Named No. 1 Hit Song, Remains a Radio Anthem 50 Years Later
Long before it became one of Barbra Streisand's signature songs, "Evergreen" was written to tell a love story on the big screen.
Released in 1976 as the love theme from A Star Is Born, the sweeping ballad quickly took on a life of its own. Co-written by Streisand and songwriter Paul Williams, "Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born)" became a massive commercial success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and earning its place among the defining love songs of the decade.
"They're magical things," Streisand told NPR of her songwriting instincts. "I can't describe it to you. It's why I could write 'Evergreen,' 'cause I hear it in my head. I hear it, and then I have to figure out how you do it. I had to learn to play the guitar to do it."
"She sat down and played on a guitar, the melody for 'Evergreen' that she'd written," recalled Williams in an interview with Songfacts. "It was just such a beautiful melody. I said, 'There's your love song. There's the big love song.' I asked her for the melody. She put it on tape for me, and I took it home."
It was history in the making. The song's success mirrored that of the film itself.
Streisand starred opposite Kris Kristofferson in the 1976 remake of A Star Is Born, portraying aspiring singer Esther Hoffman alongside Kristofferson's fading rock star John Norman Howard. At the emotional center of the film was "Evergreen," a heartfelt ballad that captured the enduring love shared by the two characters while showcasing Streisand's soaring vocal performance.
The recording became one of the biggest hits of Streisand's remarkable career. In addition to reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Evergreen" topped the Adult Contemporary chart and won both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. It also earned Streisand a Grammy Award for Song of the Year, making her the first woman to receive that honor as a songwriter.
The success further cemented Streisand's place as one of the era's most accomplished entertainers. Already an acclaimed actress and recording artist, she added another milestone to a career that would eventually span music, film, television and Broadway, with "Evergreen" standing as one of its defining achievements.
Over the decades, the ballad has remained a fixture on adult contemporary and easy listening radio. Its lush orchestration, timeless melody and universal message of enduring love have helped it connect with generations of listeners long after its chart run ended, while its association with A Star Is Born has introduced it to new audiences through the film's lasting legacy.
"I love when people write me and they say, 'I played you at my wedding.' 'That song helped me get through cancer,'" Streisand told CBS News. When I help people through my music or film, that's what makes me feel good, that I've earned my right to be born, you know, that I earned my right to be here, and to reap the success that has been lathered on me."
Nearly 50 years after its release, "Evergreen" continues to rank among Barbra Streisand’s most beloved recordings. What began as the emotional centerpiece of a Hollywood romance ultimately became one of the defining radio ballads of the 1970s, proving that some love songs never fade.
