Walmart's $28 Floral Shower Curtain and Rug Set Brings Major Cottagecore Vibes

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 2:30pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Home design trends have leaned in a decidedly charming direction lately, with many incorporating soft, comforting, and whimsical details that have a grounding effect on a room. That kind of style is especially welcome in the bathroom, whether you like the idea of creating a spa escape right in your home or you think it could use an update.

Implementing cottagecore-inspired elements is a simple way to make that look a reality. Defined by a sense of serenity with a hint of romance, it's warm, nostalgic, and dreamy in the best way. With the Framics Bathroom Accessories Set, you can quickly refresh the space without committing to costly changes. Reduced from its usual $50 to only $28, it has everything that you need to give the room a fresh spring makeover.

Color plays a key role in any successful cottagecore rollout. This set, available in angelic baby blue and sage green hues, pulls off the vibe easily with its pretty botanical print. A crisp white backdrop helps the shades pop, instantly commanding attention without feeling too overwhelming. That's important especially in smaller rooms, where too much of anything can visually shrink the space. This light and airy palette has the opposite effect, creating the illusion of a more open room.

Tying it all together, the curtain comes with a coordinating bath mat with a non-slip surface. The material establishes a firm ground grip, preventing it from moving while adding a super soft detail to the room. It's another feature that enhances the ambiance in the bathroom and contributes to its overall tranquility. A set of 12 white hooks is also included, the perfect finishing addition to this restrained design.

It's more than just good looking, too. The curtain is built to last, with waterproof polyester that resists mildew and retains its soft texture over time. You can toss it in the washing machine using cold water as needed, then tumble dry on low. Offering both style and convenience, it's a lovely option for a spring update. One shopper stated that they "love the look" in their guest bathroom, and it's just as well suited to a master bath.

While the cottagecore trend reigns right now, it's one of those aesthetics that won't ever go out of style. The sweet simplicity of the look keeps it from feeling too extravagant, while nature-inspired motifs help it stay down to earth. The Framics Bathroom Accessories Set makes it so easy to invite that traditional look into your home.

In photos obtained by the New York Post, Feldman wore casual clothing and sunglasses inside the airport, as security escorted him and his kids. The family, minus Savannah, wheeled luggage as they walked together. It's unclear from where the trio arrived.

Check out the photos of Feldman and his kids with Savannah here.

Friday marked the first time since Feldman—a communications consultant, public relations professional, and former Democratic political aide—was photographed in public since Nancy, 84, went missing. The Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) launched a search for Savannah's mother on Feb. 1, after she was last seen. on the evening of Jan. 31 in her home.

On Feb. 3, Feldman broke his silence about his mother-in-law's disappearance, telling Page Six that he didn't “have anything new to report." He added that he was “just being responsive” as detectives did everything in their power to locate Nancy. Additionally, Feldman admitted that he felt “mostly unhelpful," but shared his appreciation for the media’s “thoughtfulness.”

'70s Rock Legend Inspired to Make a 'Victory Lap' Album to Celebrate Band's 50-Year Legacy

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 2:17pm

Nancy Wilson of the legendary rock band Heart is ready for the next chapter.

During a recent appearance on Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast, the guitarist opened up about her desire to make a new album with the band, explaining why it feels important to take "a victory lap out of our legacy" as Heart celebrates more than 50 years together.

"I go  through these phases. Right now I'm in a phase of really feeling like creating some new songs. And I've got songs going on. But I feel like this is the perfect time for Heart — this year, next year — to make a victory lap out of our legacy. So I figure we need to make one more Heart album," she shared.

Wilson also revealed that she has new material in the works, sharing her excitement about collaborating with Heart's current lineup. The group's members also perform alongside sisterAnn Wilson's band, Tripsitter, a dynamic that makes the creative chemistry even stronger as they consider what's next.

"And especially with these players that we have in the lineup right now in this band, we're just really excited to play together, and there's no limits on what we could pull off as musicians," she said.

"So I've got a few songs, and Ann's working with those guys in her side band right now writing other songs. But I think I'm gonna want to make the last Heart album and do the victory lap and make 2027 mainly about the Heart film, the Heart documentary," Nancy added.

The last time Heart released an album was exactly 10 years ago, with 2016's Beautiful Broken.

Nancy also touched on the band's highly anticipated biopic, which she shared will have a "final draft soon." According to Blabbermouth, the movie about the iconic band will be directed by Carrie Brownstein of the rock band Sleater-Kinney and produced by Amazon, in collaboration with Lynda Obst, whose work includes the films Sleepless in Seattle and Interstellar.

There is still no official word on who will play Nancy and Ann in the upcoming biopic, but Nancy shared her own dream casting: she could see Elle Fanning as a contender to play her, with her sister portrayed by Florence Pugh.

Back in 2023, when asked by the Totally 80s podcast who she'd like to see portray her, Ann didn't name any specific actors. Instead, she wanted "somebody who could sing, and then they could sing some, I could sing some. I think that my preference would be somebody young and brand new and fresh — somebody who's really got their s--t together in terms of being into the script."

I Tried All 14 Flavors of Trü Frü Treats To Find the Best of the Bunch

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 1:32pm

It’s officially chocolate-covered-everything season. Everywhere you look, there's something enrobed in chocolate: strawberries, pretzels, gummy bears (yes, that's a thing). And although it's not an only-in-February thing, there's also Trü Frü, the line of frozen, chocolate-dipped fruits that launched in 2017 and quickly became a viral brand.

I happened upon Trü Frü a few years ago and found that it's the rare snack that all four members of my household will happily eat without hesitation, which, as the mom of two little kids, feels like a small miracle. It hits that sweet spot perfectly: real fruit, rich chocolate and a satisfying bite that feels light and refreshing.

The only downside? It’s surprisingly hard to get your hands on all of the flavors. Some stores carry only a few varieties, and the freezer section is often picked over. Lots of people have strong feelings about the best Trü Frü flavor, so I was curious to know how they'd stack up when tasted head-to-head, which is just what I did in my kitchen recently.

To help me tackle this chocolate-dipped fruit marathon, I invited my good friend, colleague, taste-testing partner in crime and registered dietitian, Tory Stroker of Tory Stroker Nutrition, to try all of the Trü Frü flavors with me. We snacked our way through both the original frozen fruits and the freeze-dried chocolate-covered fruits that were added to the Trü Frü lineup in the fall of 2025 and ranked the two categories worst to best. Here's how the sweet treats stacked up.

How We Tasted the Trü Frü Flavors

For this taste test, we tried the nine frozen Trü Frü flavors, which include chocolate-dipped strawberries, cherries, bananas, blueberries and raspberries (some of which come in milk and dark chocolate versions). We also tried the five flavors in the newer freeze-dried line. Those snacks include a variety of fruits (strawberries, bananas, blueberries and raspberries) with either a dark chocolate or crème coating.

Tory and I started with the frozen varieties. Following the instructions on the bag, we let each flavor thaw for about 15 minutes before tasting. We soon learned that letting the fruit rest before you dig in truly makes a huge difference in texture and flavor.

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

After ranking the frozen options, we moved on to the freeze-dried line, which has a crunchy, candy-like vibe. This story includes two separate rankings because the two product lines are so distinct. We wanted to be comparing apples to apples (or frozen fruit to frozen fruit).

9 Trü Frü Frozen Flavors, Ranked Worst To Best

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Before we jump into the ranking, a note about the numbers: Because Trü Frü offers many of its frozen fruits in both dark and milk chocolate versions (often paired with white chocolate as well), Tory and I decided to taste and rank the frozen flavors together rather than splitting hairs over which chocolate was “better.” We found that choosing dark versus milk comes down to personal preference.

Both of us are dark chocolate fans, so we preferred that version across the board, though the milk and dark chocolate options tasted quite similar. If you were just snacking on these instead of tasting them professionally (what a life!), I suspect you wouldn't notice a huge difference. In the tasting notes below, you'll see a shared description of the fruits that have milk and dark chocolate variations.

We focused our ranking on what mattered most across the lineup: the fruit’s texture when ready to eat, how well it paired with the chocolate coating, and which flavors felt the most satisfying overall.

9. Trü Frü Nature's Blueberries

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Frozen blueberries were the toughest sell for both of us. The flavor is OK, especially if you already love blueberries, but the texture just doesn’t shine when frozen. The berries are small and firm, and the bite is more icy than creamy compared to the other fruits. While the dark and white chocolate coating is sweet and well-balanced, it can’t fully overcome that classic frozen-blueberry chew. If you’re a blueberry person, you’ll still enjoy them, but in this lineup, they were our least favorite.

8. Trü Frü Nature's Cherries

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This was the most divisive flavor at the table. Tory immediately said, “Hard no for me—I’m not a huge cherry fan,” while I was very into their bold tartness. The cherries have a sharp, almost sour edge that really pops against the chocolate, but we both agreed they could be slightly sweeter for broader appeal. If you love a tangy fruit-and-chocolate combo, these might be for you, but they’re definitely not the most crowd-pleasing option.

7 and 6. Trü Frü Nature's Strawberries (White & Milk Chocolate) + Trü Frü Nature's Strawberries (White & Dark Chocolate)

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Strawberries are always a little unpredictable out of season, and that came through in our tasting. We both noted these would benefit from being coated in peanut butter like the bananas. One bag had beautifully ripe berries, while another was noticeably paler inside with a more sour flavor.

Still, the concept is classic: juicy strawberry meets creamy chocolate. I kept thinking this is the kind of snack my kids would go crazy for, even if adults might find them a bit inconsistent. They’re solid, familiar and sweet—just not the most exciting of the bunch.

5 and 4. Trü Frü Nature's Raspberries (White & Milk Chocolate) + Trü Frü Nature's Raspberries (White & Dark Chocolate)

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Raspberries bring serious personality. They’re tart, bright and intensely fruity, and when frozen, they take on what Tory described as a “crystal vibe.” She noted that they feel “less desserty” because raspberries are naturally so sharp and tangy, but that contrast is exactly what makes them special. The sweet chocolate coating balances the fruit beautifully, creating that delicious sweet-tart combination. If you like your treats a little punchier, these are a standout.

3. Trü Frü Piña Colada

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This was the biggest surprise of the entire frozen lineup. The pineapple texture is incredibly satisfying, juicy, chewy and much softer than berries when frozen. The white chocolate and coconut coating make it feel like a tropical dessert instead of just a chocolate-dipped fruit snack. Eating these genuinely transported us out of snowy New Jersey for a second. It’s a fun departure from the rest of the flavors, and one we kept reaching for again and again.

2 and 1. Trü Frü Nature's Bananas with Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate + Trü Frü Nature's Bananas with Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

This was the unanimous winner. Bananas are naturally creamy, which makes them the most ice-cream-adjacent fruit in the freezer aisle. Add that thick peanut butter layer, and you get something smooth, rich and deeply satisfying. Both Tory and I agreed these were the smoothestand creamiest of the bunch. We both wished for a bit more peanut butter, but more is always more on that front for us. If you want the Trü Frü flavor that truly feels like dessert and is something your whole house will love, this is the bag to grab.

5. Trü Frü Blueberries + Creme

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

Even though it isn’t technically artificial, this flavor was the one that read the most “blueberry candy” to both of us. The freeze-dried crunch is really pleasant, but the crème coating doesn’t have the same rich payoff as Trü Frü’s chocolate versions. Tory immediately clocked that something felt slightly off, and while we didn’t dislike them, they just didn’t deliver the same craveable balance of fruit and coating. If you love white chocolate-style treats, you may still enjoy these, but compared to the deeper chocolate flavors, they felt a little less special.

4. Trü Frü Strawberries + Creme

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These were solid, but not a standout. The strawberries have that satisfying freeze-dried crispness, and the crème coating makes them sweet and snackable, but we both kept wishing for a little more intensity. “I like them, but I don’t love them,” was Tory’s quick summary, and I felt the same way. They’re enjoyable, but they don’t quite have the candy-like magic or bold flavor contrast that the top-ranked options do.

3. Trü Frü Dark Chocolate Freeze-Dried Bananas

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

We were both surprised by these—mostly because we expected neat little banana discs, not chunkier pieces. The dark chocolate coating is smooth and creamy, but the banana texture in freeze-dried form just wasn’t our favorite. It’s a little airy and odd compared to the crisp berries, and the shape threw us off right away. They’re not bad, but in a lineup where the berry flavors taste like actual candy, these felt like the one option that didn’t fully know what it wanted to be.

2. Trü Frü Dark + White Chocolate Freeze-Dried Strawberries

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

These completely shocked us in the best way. Tory preferred them to the frozen strawberries, and once I tasted them I understood her stance. The freeze-dried strawberry plus the chocolate coating creates a texture that is crispy, airy and ridiculously snackable. “These remind me of malt balls,” Tory said immediately, and she was so right. I kept thinking these would be incredible mixed into popcorn or tossed into a salty snack bowl for movie night. They feel less like fruit and more like a legit candy treat.

1. Trü Frü Dark & White Chocolate Freeze-Dried Raspberries

Courtesy Jeanette Donnarumma

If any flavor truly blurred the line between “better-for-you snack” and straight-up candy, it was this one. The tartness and seediness of the raspberry give it the most classic malt-ball vibe of the entire freeze-dried lineup. Tory called that out right away: “The raspberry ones have the most malt-ball texture because of the tartness and seediness of the fruit,” she said. The sweet coating against that punchy, real raspberry flavor is so delicious, and honestly, these could absolutely pass for something you’d buy at a candy store.

70 Best Romantic Movies of This Century

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 1:30pm

These are the classics of the modern era that make us believe in love, over and over again. For this list of the greatest 21st-century screen romances, we're looking at love stories from around the world. Any film from 2000 through now where romantic love is front-and-center is fair game. We've included romantic comedies (including new favorites like Materialists!), dramas, period pieces, tragedies—even horror, sci-fi, action and animated family fare.

In ascending order, here is our ranking of the 70 most unforgettable romantic movies of the 21st century. There are some mild spoilers, so beware going in!

Best Romantic Movies of the 21st Century Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer in Call Me by Your Name

Sony Pictures Classics

70. Call Me by Your Name  (2017)

An emotionally ripe experience for the senses, Call Me by Your Name was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Timothée Chalamet‘s star-making breakthrough. James Ivory‘s Oscar-winning script makes heavy cuts from the last chunk of André Aciman‘s sexy, enthralling novel. These cuts are right for the screen, though. Ivory keeps a wistful, moving monologue near the end intact, and the film’s final moments and last shot are already iconic.

Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal in Materialists

A24

69. Materialists (2025)

We were sold at the mere thought of Pedro Pascal in a romcom, but when you add in Chris Evans (proud owner of "America's ass" and a genuine, infectious earnestness) and aloof, lime-hating, third-generation nepo baby Dakota Johnson, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a good time. Johnson is Lucy, a gold-digging matchmaker who believes money can, in fact, buy love. She's torn between John (Evans), a broke caterer and struggling actor, and the wealthy Harry (Pascal), who is, on paper, everything she thinks she wants.

Chris Pine and Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman

Warner Bros./Courtesy Everett Collection

68. Wonder Woman (2017)

We were all hoping Wonder Woman would be fun and entertaining, and then director Patty Jenkins gave us one of the most stirring and dramatically satisfying adventure films of the past decade, a film that puts story and character first at every turn. Gal Gadot's Diana Prince is a winsome, unapologetically idealistic screen presence for the ages. Chris Pine is also invaluable here as Steve Trevor, and their chemistry is perfect. By remaining one gracious half-step behind Gadot in delivering a touching and full-bodied performance, it’s one of the most appealing onscreen depictions of masculinity in recent memory.

Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine

The Weinstein Company

67. Blue Valentine (2010)

Written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, this often uncomfortably intimate drama uses a nonlinear narrative to show us a couple's sweet courtship, followed by a ripper of a breakup. Generous turns by Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling help Blue Valentine stand out from other films of its ilk. The picture was originally slapped with an NC-17 for a relatively non-graphic sex scene depicting female pleasure (notoriously frowned upon by the MPAA). Upon appeal, the rating was bumped to R with no cuts.

Matt Rogers, Zane Phillips, Tomas Matos, Joel Kim Booster, Torian Miller and Bowen Yang in Fire Island

Jeong Park/Searchlight Pictures

66. Fire Island (2022)

Written by and starring Joel Kim Booster, what do you get when you combine Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with a modern-day technology, some of the funniest comedians of their generation and a queer hotspot setting? You get Fire Island—and it's even better than it sounds. The film explores not just romance and farce, but also queer community, race relations and classism within LGBTQ+ spaces.

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook

Netflix

65. Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

David O. Russell's Philly-set masterpiece, about two hot messes who fall for each other as they heal from significant trauma, is an astounding blend of huge laughs, painful authenticity and a moving love story. Silver Linings Playbook was the first movie since Warren Beatty's Reds 31 years earlier to be nominated for Oscars in all four acting categories (for stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver). Lawrence won Best Actress.

Family is a funny thing. We love them, and sometimes they drive us nuts. Few pictures in memory have better captured the devastating heartbreak and occasional hilarity that happens when loved ones throw down quite like Silver Linings Playbook. There's a stunningly effective message here—about grace, living amends and the healing powers of selfless love.

In addition to being one of the most powerful screen romances we've seen in the 21st century, Silver Linings Playbook is a profoundly American movie—has any other film dissected our love of football with as much insight as this one?

Steve Carell and Catherine Keener in The 40-Year-Old Virgin

Universal Pictures

64. The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)

Arguably the best film directed by Judd Apatow (and his directorial debut), this raunchy—yet perceptive and humane—sex comedy announced Steve Carell as a film star to be reckoned with. The 40-Year-Old Virgin received enthusiastic reviews and grossed a huge $177 million against a $26 million budget. The 40-Year-Old Virgin was nominated for a Best Original Screenplay honor by the Writers Guild of America and was selected as one of the year's 10 best films by the American Film Institute.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in La La Land

Lionsgate

63. La La Land (2016)

The takeaway of Damien Chazelle's acclaimed spin on the classic musical is the love story. At the risk of understatement, it's one for the ages. Sharply written and performed, it's a kind of love story we haven’t seen on screen before, at least certainly not done this well. It's about two creative people (Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone), wildly ambitious and all but defined by their lofty dreams, who really see each other and help each other. The dreams come true—at the cost of their union. Love it or hate it (we love it, for the record), it's hard to deny the picture's layers of brilliance.

Leonor Watling and Rosario Flores in Talk to Her 62. Talk to Her (2002)

Is this Pedro Almodóvar's finest hour? In Spanish-language Talk to Her, two men form a bond as they care for comatose women. In an Oscars shocker, Talk to Her wasn't selected as the country's selection for the Academy Awards' Best Foreign Language Film honor. However, Almodóvar won Best Original Screenplay.

Domnhall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams in About Time

Universal Pictures

61. About Time (2013)

Domnhall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams are at the center of About Time, which follows Tim (Gleeson) as he navigates his surprise power to travel through time—but with a huge catch that turns crushing later in the film. In the meantime, though? It's absolutely adorable, especially Tim's meet-cute with Mary (McAdams), which he re-does several times until he calms his nerves and is able to charm her.

Lelio co-wrote the screenplay of Disobedience with Rebecca Lenkiewicz, and it’s adapted from a novel by Naomi Alderman. Rachel McAdams and Rachel Weisz star as childhood friends whose reignited attraction rocks their Orthodox Jewish community to its core. This critical darling is a provocative and moving tale of desire, faith and family.

Mia Goth and Anya Taylor-Joy in Emma

Focus Features

59. Emma (2020)

Before she dominated small screens with the Netflix bingeworthy The Queen’s Gambit, Anya Taylor-Joy brought style, humor and a 21st-century knowingness to Jane Austen‘s iconic matchmaker. Autumn de Wilde‘s Emma. is everything you’re hoping for in a period rom-com: transporting, hilarious and touching. Beyond that, this is likely the most visually gob-smacking Austen adaptation to date, with costumes and production design that received major awards attention. Taylor-Joy is a singular, versatile talent whose abilities are not to be underestimated.

Amazon Prime Video

58. Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)

Based on the 2019 novel, Red, White & Royal Blue tells the story of Alex (Taylor Zakhar Perez), son of the president of the United States, who feuds with—and then falls in love with —Britain's Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine). The challenges they face, ranging from international relations, palace "firm" interference and long distance, not to mention acceptance of their sexual identities, are handled with more grace and nuance than you might expect from a streaming romcom.

Niko Terho and Jake Borelli in The Thing About Harry

Freeform

57. The Thing About Harry  (2020)

Peter Paige's delicately radical Freeform original takes the comfort of Hallmark and Lifetime romance movies we love as the framework for a modern LGBTQ classic. Jake Borelli and Niko Terho star as high-school rivals reunited in young adulthood, after they've both come out, opening the door for romance. It's well-acted, warm and insightfully written—with surprising emotional punch. Ironically, the comfort-food foundation is what makes it feel edgy and so savory.

Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in Marriage Story

56. Marriage Story (2019)

Noah Baumbach‘s emotional juggernaut showcases career-best work from Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos in Blue is the Warmest Colour

Wild Bunch

53. Blue is the Warmest Colour (2013)

Its reputation somewhat marred by controversy and a highly publicized falling-out between its stars and director, Blue is the Warmest Colour is an undeniably moving epic, carried by sensational lead performances by Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos. Blue is the Warmest Colour unanimously won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, also winning awards for director Abdellatif Kechiche and the actresses.

Glenn Powell and Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You

Sony Pictures

52. Anyone But You (2023)

Glenn Powell and Sydney Sweeney star in this loose, modernized adaptation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. The pair's chemistry was so palpable that even offscreen there was a ton of "will they or won't they" speculation ever since. (Spoiler alert: In real life, they won't—or at least they haven't publicly!) Made on just a $25 million budget, the film grossed more than $220 million worldwide, effectively resurrecting the entire romcom genre.

Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth in Bridget Jones's Diary

Miramax

51. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

Renée Zellweger is a million-watt movie star in Sharon Maguire's funny, beloved rom-com based on an equally cherished book by Helen Fielding. There was some controversy when the slim Texan was cast as a Londoner who worries about her weight; that turned out to be all for naught. Zellweger received her first Best Actress Oscar nod for a sympathetic, captivating embodiment that's become fairly iconic. This box-office and critical hit was followed by two sadly lesser sequels.

Pierre Png and Gemma Chan in Crazy Rich Asians

Warner Bros.

50. Crazy Rich Asians (2018)

Jon M. Chu‘s film version of Kevin Kwan‘s novel, about an economics professor who discovers her boyfriend is practically royalty in Singapore, is a watershed moment for representation in Hollywood. Beyond that, the deliciously glossy, hilarious and downright moving picture is one of the best studio-released romantic comedy of the past decade or so. Audiences are clearly on board: Crazy Rich Asians was hugely profitable, only the third 2018 release to top the box office for three straight weekends after Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

Audrey Tautou in Amélie 48. Amélie (2001)

Whimsical without being saccharine, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's French-language rom-com made an international star of Audrey Tautou, who plays a waitress who reaches out to help others, and in doing so, finds love herself. Nominated for five Oscars, Amélie was a critical darling, and a mammoth hit at the box office (it remains the highest-grossing French film in the U.S.), grossing about $175 million worldwide against a $10 million budget. It was adapted rather unsuccessfully into a Broadway musical. Jeunet wasn't shy about voicing his disdain for the stage show.

Peter Strickland‘s critically adored British drama stars Sidse Babett Knudsen and Chiara D’Anna as lesbian lovers tangled in a web of dominance and subservience. The Duke of Burgundy boasts a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes; some critics even named it one of the best films of the past decade. It’s like Fifty Shades of Grey…only with substance.

46. Atonement (2006)

In 2006, filmmaker Joe Wright pulled off an unlikely feat in selling Jane Austen's 1813 romantic novel of manners Pride & Prejudice to a young modern audience. A year later, Wright and star Keira Knightley reunited for a picture of even stranger alchemy. An adaptation of Ian McEwan's book about an alleged crime, wrongful accusations and decades-spanning repercussions, Atonement is stylish as hell without ever distracting us from a narrative that intrigues us at first—then finally shatters our hearts into a million pieces.

Kim Taeri and Kim Min-hee in The Handmaiden

45. The Handmaiden (2016)

This erotic psychological thriller is such a twisty ride that it almost feels like a spoiler to put it on this list. Park Chan-wook‘s elegant suspenser tells of a blossoming love between a wealthy Japanese woman (Kim Min-hee) and a Korean pickpocket (Kim Tae-ri) … and the men who try to control and oppress them. For any viewer willing to embrace the subtitles, some shocking sex and gore, and a hefty runtime, The Handmaiden is a giddy blast. It won a BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language.

44. Twilight (2008)

Haters gonna hate, but no one can deny the popularity and influence of the film series spun from Stephanie Meyer's bestselling vampire chronicles, which practically ruled a pocket of the zeitgeist for nearly a decade. Thirteen director Catherine Hardwicke's original picture stands tall as the best, overflowing with equal parts angst and eroticism.

Eva Green and Daniel Craig in Casino Royale

MGM/ United Artists/Sony/Eon Productions

43. Casino Royale (2006)

A thunderously successful debut for Daniel Craig, Casino Royale was the first James Bond film written after 9/11, and audiences needed the Bond movies to evolve considerably. The filmmakers rose to the occasion, hitting it out of the park farther than anyone could have anticipated. This is a stunning action picture with the weight of romantic tragedy. How often does that happen? Often the best part of whatever she's in, Eva Green has a singular haunted magnetism that makes her the only actress for Vesper Lynd, the double agent who breaks Bond's heart irreparably.

40. Stranger by the Lake (2013)

Perhaps the darkest film on this list (it’s probably even darker than The Favourite because there are some slayings) but too glorious to skip over, this French suspense yarn is set at an eerily quiet cruising ground and nude beach. Its appeal isn’t that far removed from Twilight, only it's smarter and cuts far deeper. At the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Alain Guiraudie won Best Director, and L’Inconnu du lac also won the Queer Palm. The film features graphic sex scenes, some filmed with body doubles. Stranger by the Lake has so much on its brain that it would be entirely reductive to just label it a “gay movie.”

Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2 39. Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Most great films start with a great screenplay. Alvin Sargent, the two-time Academy Award-winning screenwriter of World War II drama Julia (1977) and Robert Redford's Ordinary People (1980) might have seemed an unusual choice at the time to pen a Spidey screenplay, but the result is a focused, self-contained and downright exhilarating narrative. At its heart, Spider-Man 2 is all about identity and making the tough choices in life.

Beginning and ending with a close-up on the face of Mary-Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), Spider-Man 2 wisely puts as much emphasis on its relatable romance as it does on thrilling set pieces. Superhero films frequently end with a prolonged battle sequence of some kind; it’s pretty much just something we expect at this point. The climax of Spider-Man 2 is actually something of a subdued affair, and it’s a stronger film for it. It’s all about these people and the decisions they make. Don’t let the spandex fool you; this is high drama. If the 2002 Sam Raimi film was the point when Hollywood realized this genre could be a box office goldmine, Spider-Man 2 is when we officially had proof that a superhero movie could be a work of art.

Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman in The Favourite

Fox Searchlight

38. The Favourite (2018)

Though this is no one’s idea of a good date movie, The Favourite boasts one of the most stunning ensemble casts in memory, and it has no shortage of heart. The exquisitely crafted and brutally funny dark comedy tells of a love triangle between Queen Anne (Olivia Colman), her advisor Sarah (Rachel Weisz), and Sarah’s impoverished cousin Abby (Emma Stone). Abby is ultimately exposed as a user, but the love between Sarah and Anne has a sad, honest truth about it. What takes the film the extra mile is the depth of these characters; we feel for all of them. The Favourite was nominated for 10 Academy Awards—winning a really, really well-deserved trophy for Colman’s tragicomic tour de force.

37. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

A classic that fully deserves its reputation, Ang Lee‘s wuxia (that’s a genre of Chinese martial arts fiction set in ancient China) drama has electrifying stunt work—and more importantly, it tells a heartfelt, romantic story about morality and courage. Crouching Tiger was nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture. It won four, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Cinematography. The Netflix-original sequel, also available to stream, is nowhere near as great, but it does boast a return from the mighty Michelle Yeoh.

The Big Sick was based on their tumultuous courtship, impossible enough under the demand of Nanjiani’s traditional Pakistani-American family to marry a Muslim woman, and further complicated when Gordon fell into a medically induced coma during a grave illness. An uproarious, touching, riveting two-hour epic about culture, family, barriers and identity, The Big Sick was universally acclaimed, and its stellar script garnered an Oscar nod.

32. The Spectacular Now (2015)

An uncommonly perceptive film about young people is always something to celebrate. This drama, based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Tim Tharp, is exactly that. A tender drama about a destructive alcoholic teen who falls for a kind, introverted girl, The Spectacular Now was director James Ponsoldt's follow-up to Smashed, another wonderful drama about a struggling drinker. The cast list of The Spectacular Now is a veritable who's who of some of the finest dramatic actors working today, including Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bob Odenkirk and Kaitlyn Dever.

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line 29. Walk the Line (2005)

In a casting decision that felt like the planets aligning, Reese Witherspoon played June Carter Cash opposite Joaquin Phoenix in James Mangold‘s acclaimed, highly popular Johnny Cash biopic. Witherspoon effortlessly embodies June’s perky stage act, as well as her intensity and darkness behind the scenes. Walk the Line benefits greatly from fiery erotic chemistry between the leads, who both did their own singing. Witherspoon’s turn here is a masterclass, and days shy of her 30th birthday, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Joanna Kulig and Tomasz Kot in Cold War 28. Cold War (2018)

Julie Christie and Gordon Pinsent in Away From Her 22. Away From Her (2006)

Sarah Polley's sad, understated drama centers on an older couple whose bond is tested by an Alzheimer's diagnosis. Julie Christie cleaned house in the Best Actress category at most stops on the awards circuit, though she ultimately lost the Oscar to La Vie En Rose's Marion Cotillard. Francis Lee‘s quiet, optimistic stunner about the healing powers of a love between two farmhands is something like perfection. Set in the filmmaker’s native Yorkshire, God’s Own Country has a uniquely tactile quality about it, and lead actors Josh O'Connor (The Crown) and Alec Secareanu don’t hit a false note. The emotional arc and through-line here is as simple and clear as it is effective. It all sneaks up on you, then knocks the stuffing out of you. Best of luck not sobbing uncontrollably.

Vicky Krieps and Daniel Day-Lewis in Phantom Thread

Laurie Sparham / Focus Features

16. Phantom Thread (2017)

Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Oscar-winning period piece Phantom Thread is, unequivocally, the best, richest movie about workaholism of all time. This is a bizarre, brilliant film whose triumphs are layered. That’s one of them. Daniel Day-Lewis stars as a grief-stricken, troubled fashion designer who meets his match in a beautiful waitress (Vicky Krieps). Some great films about toxic, conflict-heavy romance, written with a lot of thought and care, benefit from being watched twice in a row so you can follow the story from both perspectives. Phantom Thread is one such film. The romantic power struggle at the core of Anderson's magnum opus is as intoxicating as the filmmaking craft around it.

The coming-out story of 17-year-old Simon Spier (Nick Robinson) generated a coveted A+ CinemaScore from test audiences, and in its way, it’s already an all-timer. Sally Hawkins in The Shape of Water

4. The Shape of Water (2017)

Is any film of the modern era more intoxicating in its love of cinema? Is there any other modern love story that's this primal? Guillermo del Toro is at home with monsters, and this labor-of-love romantic Baltimore-set fable saw the master back at the top of his game. Sure, the romance between woman and fish is unconventional, but the heart of The Shape of Water is pure, unmistakable, timeless Old Hollywood swoon. From its very premise to a musical interlude straight out of a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers pic like Top Hat, this is one of our great dreamers operating with total confidence and freedom. Sally Hawkins‘ luminous turn as mute cleaning woman Elisa is as fine a feat of screen acting as any in recent memory. Anything but a passive victim, Elisa is lionhearted, sexy, clever, funny, rude when the occasion calls for it—and she goes after what she wants. The pairing of del Toro and an excellent Octavia Spencer is inspired, and this is hopefully the first of many collaborations. The actress has a quality that always brings us to Earth, perfect for del Toro’s low fantasy.

Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke in Before Midnight

Sony Pictures Classics

3. Before Sunset (2004) and Before Midnight (2013)

In 1995's Before Sunrise, Jesse (Ethan Hawke) convinced Céline (Julie Delpy) to hop off the train out of Budapest for a romantic stroll around Vienna. Nine years later, they cross paths in Paris. Nine years after that, we got a snapshot of their new reality as they vacation to Greece. By multiplex standards, not much happens in the Before films. And yet, the walking-and-talking trilogy is, in its way, exhilarating—not to mention profoundly moving in a layered sort of way that few romantic films could even aspire to. Before Sunset is the most purely enjoyable entry, and this series, which started out damn near perfect, has just gotten better as it goes along. A lot of this has to do with Delpy and Hawke becoming more involved in the writing of their characters, undeniably influenced by the performers' real lives. We simply must have part four in 2025.

For months, slower sales have plagued certain locations, and according to sources, the company has quietly been closing outdated restaurants since November, hinting that big changes could be on the horizon.

It now seems those changes are becoming very real. As U.S. sales fell 5.2 percent in 2025 and sales at existing restaurants dropped 5.6 percent compared with the year before, the writing on the wall is pointing to even more store closures.

Wendy's 2026 Outlook and the Reason Behind the Closures View this post on Instagram

Wendy's first announced plans to close hundreds of locations in November 2025, citing "outdated technology." Since then, closures have outpaced new openings, bringing the company's U.S. location count down to 6,000. The chain now plans to close an additional 300 to 350 restaurants, which is roughly five to six percent of its remaining stores, during the first half of 2026.

U.S. struggles aside, Wendy's international sales are reportedly booming, with overall sales up 8.1 percent and sales at existing restaurants up 1.3 percent compared with the previous year. That said, according to Wall Street, Wendy's stock price is down roughly 8.5 percent in 2026 and nearly 50 percent compared with this time last year.

"We are making progress against our Project Fresh turnaround plan in the U.S. and continue to deliver strong growth internationally," said interim CEO Ken Cook. "Our fourth quarter performance was in line with our expectations, reflecting the challenges we anticipated."

What Project Fresh Means for Customers and Employees

Under Project Fresh, Wendy's is attempting to reshape its U.S. operations. Some underperforming restaurants are reportedly closing, but the company is also investing in improvements at its remaining locations. Customers can expect new menu items and other updates to enhance the in-store experience.

For employees, the closures are undoubtedly impactful and may affect staffing at certain restaurants, but the plan is focused on strengthening Wendy's long-term foundation and positioning the chain for future growth. Here's hoping displaced employees will have options when their location closes, whether through transfers to nearby restaurants, new roles within the company, or severance packages.

Cook added, "We're encouraged by the operational improvements we've driven at U.S. Company-operated restaurants and our marketing calendar for 2026, which includes new everyday Biggie value offerings and upcoming innovation across our core menu. We're executing Project Fresh with urgency to strengthen our foundation and position Wendy's for long-term success."

Numbers can be deceptive, so for us boots-on-the-ground folk, these changes have the potential to affect eating habits nationwide. Whether the impact is positive or negative remains to be determined. One thing is for certain, however: if you're seeing a dip in sales, something has to change. With consumers seemingly getting the short end of the deal for years, it's time we see changes across the board, including more affordable prices and expanded menu offerings.

‘I’m a 50-Year-Old Oncologist—This Is the One Cancer Screening I’m Begging People Over 50 To Get'

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 1:25pm

As we age, our risk for many chronic diseases increases. Unfortunately, several types of cancer are included under this umbrella. An oncologist who recently turned 50 himself believes that with age comes the need for wisdom in the form of personal data.

For both men and women over 50, the single most important first step in cancer prevention is understanding your personal risk," says Dr. Elias Obeid, MD, the medical director at Hennessy Institute for Cancer Prevention and Applied Molecular Medicine at Hackensack Meridian John Theurer Cancer Center.

At Dr. Obeid's center, people can take a free at-home risk assessment. Your local center may offer a similar tool or your primary care doctor may be able to point you to one. The American Cancer Society's CancerRisk360 also includes an assessment tool that asks you about lifestyle factors (diet, exercise and sun habits) and risk factors you can't change (family history and age).

He and his teammates use their risk assessment to provide a "personalized roadmap to guide you and your doctor toward the most effective screening plan for your health."

Screening often involves regular tests at certain ages, such as mammograms for women. That said, Dr. Obeid, who has treated patients for more than 20 years, wants everyone over 50 to get certain cancer screenings if they haven't already (and continue as needed based on their unique risk factor and care team's advice). Here's the often overlooked cancer screening people over 50 need, plus a few more not to skip.

The Top Cancer Screening To Get After 50, According to an Oncologist

An oncologist wishes people over 50 made skin cancer screenings a habit.

"Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer," Dr. Obeid states. "When detected and treated early, skin cancer is highly treatable."

SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/Getty Images

Indeed, around 1 in 5 people will receive a skin cancer diagnosis by age 70. Skin cancer can be fatal (about 8,000 people die from it annually). Yet, it has a 99% 5-year survival rate if it's detected early. That's where screening comes in, but the guidance isn't as straightforward as, say, mammograms for breast cancer and colonoscopies for rectal cancer.

"While there are no universal guidelines for professional skin exams for the general population, many doctors recommend regular self-exams and an annual skin check by a healthcare provider, especially for those with risk factors like a history of sun exposure, fair skin or a family history of skin cancer," Dr. Obeid says.

Related: ‘I’m an Oncologist—This Is the One Cancer Myth I Wish Would Go Away’

What a Skin Cancer Screening Involves

Dr. Obeid shares that skin cancer screenings involve self and clinical checks. "This involves checking the skin for any new, unusual or changing moles, sores or other growths that could be signs of skin cancer," he says.

The goal is to notice signs of any of the skin cancer types, the three most common of which are:

  • Basal and Squamous Cell (most common in sun-exposed areas like the head, neck and arms, but can develop anywhere)
  • Melanoma (risk factors include moles and first-degree family history, like a parent or sibling)
  • Lymphoma (starts in immune system cells, and age is a risk factor)

The ACS offers a full guide to performing a skin check at home and recommends doing one once per month. The short of it:

"Regularly check your own skin for any changes," Dr. Obeid says. "It is important to see a dermatologist if you notice any new spots, changes in the size, shape or color of existing moles or any spots that itch, bleed or simply look different."

It's crucial to flag these issues and see a dermatologist. "A dermatologist visually inspects your entire body for suspicious spots," he explains.

Your PCP will also likely flag any skin changes and refer you to a dermatologist and/or recommend additional testing if they notice them during an appointment, like your annual. It's vital to follow through on the screening process.

2 More Cancer Screenings Not To Skip if You’re 50+

At-home and clinical skin cancer screenings are vital if you're over 50. However, Dr. Obeid says it's crucial to get screened for colorectal and lung cancer. We'll start in the back (side) with colorectal cancer. "This screening detects precancerous polyps and early-stage colorectal cancer in the colon or rectum," he says. "It is a vital tool for both prevention and detection."

For this reason, the ACS suggests that average-risk people have a colonoscopy every 10 years starting at 45, though higher-risk individuals will start sooner.

"A colonoscopy is a visual exam of the entire colon," Dr. Obeid shares. Other screening tools include less invasive stool-based annual tests and CT colonography (virtual colonoscopy) every five years.

If you use a screening test other than a colonoscopy, any abnormal result requires a prompt follow-up colonoscopy.

Then there are lung cancer screenings, which are literally life-saving, something Dr. Obeid can't say enough. "This screening looks for early signs of lung cancer using a low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) scan," Dr. Obeid states. "The screening involves a short, non-invasive CT scan of the chest that provides detailed images of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, and this screening is specifically for those at high risk."

Dr. Obeid reports that the USPSTF recommends yearly LDCT scans for adults ages 50 to 80 who:

  • Have a 20 pack-year smoking history (a pack a day for 20 years)
  • Currently smoke
  • Have quit within the past 15 years

"Some guidelines apply even if you quit more than 15 years ago," he adds. "Early detection before symptoms appear can lead to more effective treatment."

Jameela Jamil Criticizes Women In Hollywood: 'So Obedient, So Compliant'

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 12:53pm

The Good Place actress Jameela Jamilrecently shared some harsh words about women in Hollywood, calling them "so obedient" and "so compliant" for adhering to beauty standards through weight loss medications like Ozempic and cosmetic procedures such as facelifts.

Speaking to W!ZARD Radio Media, Jamil said, "I'm very exhausted by how obedient a lot of the women in my industry are being at the moment—so obedient, so compliant. All the facelifts, all the Ozempic, all the everything. And this is not like Ozempic for health purposes. This is just to achieve the super, super skinny look. And then, because they're losing weight too fast, they're needing to get facelifts, and then they get the facelift, and then they look 19 forever, and then they start to behave like they're 19."

Jamil continued, "All of this is just to make men happy. Ultimately, they think it's to make them happy, but the conditioning is that we behave like infantilized little girls so that men can feel like big, strong and wise people...I don't want to be part of it."

Toward the end of her comments, Jamil's language got even stronger. She added, "I'm f—g sick of it, and I don't want to be obedient ever, and I don't want to be compliant ever. I would like to live a life of spite."

View this post on Instagram

Jamil has never been one to shy away from her opinion, particularly when it comes to issues concerning women, misogyny and patriarchal/societal expectations. She has been particularly vocal about body positivity and fighting against society's standards for women, including being, as she said, "super, super skinny."

However, these words are perhaps a bit sharper than those Jamil has used in the past, particularly in terms of her commentary being directed at a specific group: women in Hollywood. While Jamil has frequently called out patriarchy and/or misogyny, she hasn't often openly criticized women in the industry.

In part, her frustrations may be stemming from the increasing popularity of weight loss methods like Ozempic, which was emphasized during the Super Bowl commercials this year, many of which focused on GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic.

'Shark Tank' Star Remembers Frantic Valentine's Day Wedding 38 Years Later

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 12:48pm

Valentine's Day is extra special for Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran and her longtime husband,Bill Higgins, because the couple got married on the holiday in 1988! On Feb. 14, 2026, they celebrated their 38th anniversary, and the 76-year-old entrepreneur shared a fun story about the mayhem that surrounded their wedding day all those years ago.

"38 years ago today, I said 'I do,' she wrote on Instagram beside a sweet photo cuddled up to her hubby.

"Bill and I almost missed our own wedding," she admitted. "We went cross-country skiing that morning, got lost in the woods, and somehow still managed to hit traffic on the way back, even though we always hit traffic." They were so late, the nuptials were nearly cancelled!

View this post on Instagram

"My parents and the minister were ready to call it a day when we finally walked in," she wrote. "Five minutes later, we were married."

After nearly four decades together, Corcoran is just as fond of her husband now as she was on that day. "I married a good man, a great father, and a very handsome guy," she said. "Happy anniversary, Bill. You’re still the one. I love you. [red heart emoji. href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-meanings"]"

The couple shares two children: a son in 1994, via in vitro fertilization and an egg donated by her sister, and a daughter they adopted later.

While Higgins is much more private than his reality star wife, Corcoran is extremely proud to show off her life partner on Instagram. She celebrated him and his service in a touching Veteran's Day post in 2025.

"My husband Captain William F. Higgins Jr. spent decades serving our country in the US Navy," she wrote. "He played football for the Naval Academy and went on to serve as a captain in operation Desert Storm. He even woke me up to the Internet when he used it to play war games in Korea, but that’s a story for another time! Today, his walls are covered in photos and awards from floor to ceiling, and he proudly sports his Navy hat every day. I’m so proud of Bill every day, especially on Veteran’s Day."

Winter Olympic Village Runs Out of Condoms in Record-Breaking Time

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 12:47pm

The Olympic spirit is strong. And apparently, so is the drive.

According to La Stampa, an Italian newspaper, the 10,000 gratis prophylactics available to the athletes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games have run out in record-breaking time -- i.e., three days.

View this post on Instagram

“The supplies ran out in just three days,” an anonymous athlete told the newspaper. “They promised us more will arrive, but who knows when.”

Shifting blame to the Olympic organizers, they added, the Games were not “particularly generous with the numbers."

"In Paris the athletes received 300,000 condoms – two per day each – but the numbers for these Winter Games were significantly lower: not even 10,000,” La Stampa stated.

Yes, the 10,000 rubbers doled out for this year’s Olympics is significantly less than the 300,000 distributed for the Paris Games. Of course, in 2024, there were nearly 11,000 athletes, per the New York Post Sports, competing, as opposed to the 3,000 going for gold in Milan.

Last week Attilio Fontana, the governor of the Lombardy region, addressed the issue on social media, The Guardian reported.

“Yes, we provide free condoms to athletes in the Olympic village,” he said. “If this seems strange to some, they’re unaware of the established Olympic practice. It began in Seoul 1988 to raise awareness among athletes and young people about sexually transmitted disease prevention — a topic that shouldn’t cause embarrassment.”

The news comes as the Winter Games are juggling another predicament. Last weekend, rumors about potential penis injections regarding the Olympic ski jumpers went viral. Olympic officials have addressed the claims, calling them wildly untrue.

“This wild rumor started off a few weeks ago from pure hearsay,” FIS spokesman Bruno Sassi told The Associated Press, per ESPN. “There has never been any indication, let alone evidence, that any competitor has ever made use of a hyaluronic acid injection to attempt to gain a competitive advantage.”

Fans certainly seem on board with the new collaboration based on the comments already left on Erewhon's recent Instagram post promoting the Gabriela Smoothie and showing the girls glamorously posing with their latest creation. "They’re collabing with everyone i love it," wrote one user, while others praised "QUEEN MANON" for her gorgeous look.

And you can tell the die-hards were on the prowl, with a number of commenters concerned that Megan was the only member whose face wasn't fully shown in the Instagram carousel. Plus, some other fans took note of how "Sophia's face" looks noticeably different in the social-media images.

Regardless, these comments are just additional proof that Katseye remains red hot following their epic night at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where they were dually nominated in addition to performing "Gabriela." Days later, they appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to discuss a new a partnership.

And last month, Katseye teamed up with Laneige (an icon in its own right — those lip sleeping masks are everything) for a new product launch. The JuicePop Box Lip Tint is basically a comfy, glossy lip tint that lasts up to 12 hours without drying your lips. It goes on feeling light and watery, then settles in with a hit of nourishing oil, keeping your lips hydrated instead of tight or flaky.

Simone Biles' Husband Had the Most Romantic Surprise for Her on Valentine's Day

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 12:14pm

Simone Biles, 28, got to do one of her favorite things with one of her favorite people on Valentine's Day 2026: go to the Olympics with her 30-year-old husband, Jonathan Owens! But it was Owens' surprise when they got back to their hotel in Milan, Italy, that made the holiday of love extra special for his wife.

The Olympic gymnast shared a clip on her Instagram Stories of their room filled with shiny red and rose gold heart balloons and a perfectly-made bed that had "Be My Valentine" written out in red rose petals.

Their dinner was just as on-theme: a heart shaped pizza on a table covered in petals. Clearly the couple was hungry after their big day at the games, because there was a chunk taken out of the pie in the photo.

"Phone did not eat first [laughing emoji href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-meanings"]," joked Biles.

Earlier in the day, the seven-time gold medalist and her Chicago Bears safety hubby enjoyed a tasty looking charcuterie board before watching the Olympic figure skating finals, including Ilia Malinin's highly anticipated, but ill-fated performance.

The couple was twinning in their outfits, as usual. Both wore Olympic bomber jackets, with Biles' cream coat rocking the Olympic logo on the back and Owens' blue version donning "Team USA" across his shoulders. He dressed his look down with some light gray sweatpants and sneakers, while she dressed hers up with some white jeans, cream heels, a red, blue, and gold Gucci bag and a diamond goat necklace.

Neither Biles nor Owens is a stranger to the Olympics. Biles has competed in three Olympic Games: Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024, where she won 11 medals total, and Owens took time off from his football schedule to support his wife in Paris in 2024.

"It was emotional even when she made trials. I cried for her, knowing all the work that they put in. Usually, it's once every four years, so just imagine, the pressure for them … 'if I mess this up, I won't get another chance for four years,'" he told the Bears' blog in 2024. "I know all the hard work that she puts in. I can't wait to go out and just watch her and watch all of her dreams come true."

Owens was over-the-moon when Biles took home the gold in July 2024. "Witnessing history every time you step on the mat!" he wrote alongside a sweet photo with his wife as he wore her medal. "Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful I was there to see it!"

Owens is just as supportive of her man. She showed up to almost every single one of his NFL games in the 2025-2026 season wearing unique custom outfits with his name on them, while always greeting him on the sidelines with a kiss. "Love getting to support mine [white heart emoji]" she wrote beside a sweet on-field photo on Dec. 30.

Hockey Stars Anna Kjellbin of Sweden and Ronja Savolainen of Finland Are Real-Life ‘Heated Rivalry’ at Milan Olympics 2026

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 11:52am

Before the Games are done, engaged couple Anna Kjellbin and Ronja Savolainen could find themselves in a icy showdown.

Kjellbin of Sweden and Savolainen of Finland play for rival teams, with both heading toward a possible face-off in an elimination round of the Olympic women’s hockey tournanment at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Olympic fans and viewers are calling the matchup real-life scene out of Heated Rivalry. Based on the book series Game Changers, by Rachel Reid, Canada's Crave production was released on the U.S.'s HBO Max back in December, with the six-episode slate receiving a tone of farfare in the States.

Following the forbidden romance between professional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, the series even had fans baking their feelings into iced hockey-themed layer cakes once it finaled.

Season two has been already inked, and is set to adapt Rachel Reid's The Long Game, focusing on the next chapter of Shane and Ilya's relationship. It's release will likely be early to mid-2027.

According to Them magazine, the Professional Women’s Hockey League has 30 openly queer players, including Kjellbin and Savolainen, who first met while playing together in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League. In 2024, they announced their engagement after five years of dating.

“I’m usually the one who goes home as a winner,” Savolainen said in a 2024 interview with Ottawa Citizen. “I don’t care who’s in front of me … if it’s going to be her, I’m going to hit her … When you play, you just play. You don’t really think about who’s there. You’re friends after. On the ice, she’s my enemy. That’s how it goes.”

The couple added that though they love to play on the same PWHL team, they are “super lucky that we are so close to each other.”

As for an update on the ice, Sweden is set to meet the U.S. in the semifinals Monday, Feb. 16, with Finalnd losing to Canada last Thursday, landing them fourth in Group A. They “will meet fifth-placed Switzerland in the last eight” today, per the offical Olympics website.

'Love Is Blind' Bri Says Her Chat With Connor Was About Another Man (Exclusive)

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 11:39am

Spoiler alert for Love Is Blind season 10 episodes 1-6.

Bri McNees became close to two men in the pods, but chose Connor Spies. Their relationship quickly took a downturn in Cabo. Bri, 34, was bothered by surface-level conversations she had with the other men at the mixer. The senior merchant hoped to have deeper chats later because she told some of the men things she didn't share with anyone else.

This comment seemed to bother Connor. She dated Chris Fusco in the pods. They later spoke by the pool and Bri compared Connor to Chris. Parade talked to the cast during a press junket on February 12. She claimed the episode missed some important information and she wasn't talking about Chris after the mixer.

Bri Says She Was Talking About Mike to Connor, Not Chris

Adam Rose/Netflix

The senior merchant revealed her third top connection in the pods we didn't see was Mike Gibney. He got engaged to Emma Betsinger. "And what's not actually shown in Mexico is Mike and I had a really interesting conversation at the pool, and he kind of approaches me and says, ‘Hey, kind of, what happened between us?’" Bri told Parade. "And Mike and I actually didn't get a closure moment in the pods of like a breakup. It was just one of those days, we just like didn't see each other."

Bri claimed her conversation with Connor about talking to other men from the pods was about him not Chris. "We're actually talking about Mike and not Chris because Mike had actually shared a lot of those feelings with me at the pool where Chris and I were kind of more friendly in that moment," she said. "So, it's kind of interesting that that didn’t necessarily come up because there's a lot of conversation with Mike and I overtly around it."

She claimed neither of them regretted moving forward with other people. Bri said "closure" or "validation" aren't the right words for what she wanted with the other man. "But again, it was just kind of a mutual decision that we were going to stay friends," she said. "It wasn't something we were exploring further. But he was happy with his decision with Emma and I was happy with mine with Connor."

Connor told the other men at the mixer that she doesn't shut up. Emma didn't take offense to this. "We're both yappers," she said. She mentioned how she cuts him off in her letter to him in the pods. "I feel like it was something that we kind of poked fun at, from the jump in the pods, and it kind of continues," she said. "But I think that's what makes our relationship so playful to watch back."

Love Is Blind teased that couples will see each other’s homes and introduce their partners to their families. Season 10 episodes 7 to 9 will be released on Netflix, Wednesday, February 18.

Reflecting On Her Australian Open Wins

While in Australia, Capriati sat for an interview with the Tennis Channel in which she reflected on her past wins at the Australian Open in 2001 and 2002. Calling it "surreal" to be back, Capriati said she “always loved playing here... everything was perfect and the conditions. I think the year before, I had gotten close."

She continued, “It was 2000, and then I lost in the semi-finals. [In] 2001, I was ready, as ready as I’ve ever felt before, and it all clicked in for me.”

Deciding to Retire

Capriati was a child tennis phenom, starting her career as a professional at just 13 years old. As a teen, she skyrocketed to fame and won the Women's Singles Gold at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics at age 16. But personal struggles followed, including arrests for shoplifting and marijuana, and the star ultimately took an extended break from the sport before coming back even stronger.

After her return, Capriati topped the rankings yet again until she retired in 2004. While she didn't formally announce her departure from her tennis career, she had been plagued by years of injuries.

Reflecting on how her life changed after stepping back from her career, Capriati told the New York Times in 2006 that "I wake up every day, and my life has totally changed," she said.

"You don't know what's your driving force," Capriati said. "Is it sponsors, pressure, money, self-worth? Or is it that you really love the game so much that you can't be away from it?"

Here's a look back at Capriati on the court:

Design-wise, the appeal is in the simplicity. The silhouette features clean lines and balanced proportions that work just as well with modern decor as they do with more traditional place settings.
