'60s Guitar Legend to Receive Major Honor 56 Years After His Tragic Death
It's no exaggeration to say that the world still hasn't gotten over the sudden passing of Jimi Hendrix at the age of 27 in 1970. Over half a century later, his memory is just as alive as ever...and now the iconic and influential musician is receiving a major (and majorly cool) honor.
As Far Out reported, New York City is naming the part of West Eighth Street where Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios is located "Jimi Hendrix Way." The new sign will be unveiled during a ceremony on Feb. 24, when Hendrix's sister, Janie Hendrix, will speak (along with E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt and NYC council member Harvey Epstein). Both Janie and Van Zandt helped to campaign for the name change, part of an effort to promote musical education by Experience Hendrix LLC and Van Zandt’s non-profit charity, TeachRock.
“This collaboration speaks to the heart of our mission — carrying on Jimi’s legacy through education," Janie said in a statement, adding, “His music is a powerful gateway for young minds to connect with history, creativity, and their own potential.”
“Jimi Hendrix didn’t just play guitar — he reimagined what art could be," Van Zandt said. "I want TeachRock to transport students into that same sense of possibility and discovery I felt the first time I saw Jimi perform. His story, lyrics, and sound remind young people that creativity has no limits.”
Hendrix follows in the footsteps of a handful of other musicians with strong ties to NYC to have streets named after them, such as Run DMC, Joey Ramone, and Missy Elliott.
The history of Electric Lady Studios came to life in a 2025 documentaryIn an interview with Guitar World last year, Hendrix's engineer Eddie Kramer opened up about his part in director John McDermott’s documentary, Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision.
“It’s the history of how we put the damn place together, which was kind of a miracle when you think about it,” Kramer said, adding, “It was basically a bunch of hippies who thought they knew what they were doing. And I guess we did…”
“Well, that was Jimi’s thing," Kramer continued. "He loved to jam. He loved to go down to the Generation Club, as a place to hang— and he would always jump on the stage, no matter what was going on. So one day I get the call saying, ‘We’re gonna build a nightclub in the Village.’ And I’m looking at the site, thinking, ‘This is a great space. But what about what Jimi’s been doing for the past year, spending money day after day at the Record Plant, The Hit Factory, wherever?’"
“I mean, thank goodness he did that because it meant we had a huge body of material to work with," Kramer recalled. "But, you know, he was spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on studio time. So I came up with a proposal: ‘Let’s make this the best studio in the world for Jimi. It’s gonna be his home, he’ll love it, it’ll be a place he can relax and create.’ And they went, ‘Yeah, good idea. Okay, let’s do that.’”
The rest is music history.

Skateboarding Legend Facing Health Crisis ‘Needs Your Help’
In his youth, Paul Constantineau was a member of the legendary Z-Boys skateboarding team that shaped the extreme sport by taking it from the sidewalks to the vertical walls of drained swimming pools.
Decades later, Constantineau is in need of help.
Dogtown Skateboards recently posted on its social media accounts about the famed skater’s current situation along with a classic 1976 photo by noted photographer Glen E. Friedman of Constantineau shooting the tube on a schoolyard bank.
“Legendary Z-Boy and @dogtownskate Paul Constantineau needs your help! PC is recently out of spending three weeks at UCLA hospital. He has Benson’s Syndrome, a rare brain neurodegenerative syndrome. He will need full time care going forward. It is only half covered by insurance. For all the inspiration that Paul has brought to the skating world, we can now step up to help him. All contributions go directly to his life partner, Maria Minelli, who is managing his care.”
Dogtown Skateboards also shared the link to a GoFundMe account created for Constantineau by fellow former Z-Boy Nathan Pratt. As of this writing, the fundraising effort was closing in on its goal of $26,000 with more than 100 donations, with word from Pratt that an anonymous donor was offering to “match all donations up to $8,000. Your dollars are doubled! Don't let us leave money on the table.”
Constantineau and Pratt were part of the scene documented in the 2001 film Dogtown and the Z-Boys, co-written and directed by onetime Z-Boy Stacy Peralta, and narrated by Sean Penn. The film, which won the Audience Award and Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival, also nabbed an Independent Spirit Award in 2001 for Best Documentary. It also inspired the 2005 drama Lords of Dogtown, that focused on the lives of Z-Boys Tony Alva, Jay Adams and Peralta, as they revolutionized skateboarding and struggled with their newfound fame.

1971 Best-Selling Record Ranked No. 1 ‘Classic Rock Album’ of the '70s
More than 50 years after its release, Led Zeppelin IV is still dominating. It's latest triumph? Being ranked the No. 1 classic rock album of the 1970s.
Released in November 1971, the band's fourth studio album is technically untitled, though it's widely known as Led Zeppelin IV or, as some describe it, the one with artwork of an old guy carrying sticks. The album followed a run of already massively successful records, but this one cemented the band's place among the greatest acts in rock and roll.
Of course, much of its enduring legacy is tied to "Stairway to Heaven," the eight-minute epic that became one of the most iconic songs in rock history. But, the ranking underscores something fans have long argued: the album's greatness extends far beyond that single track.
Across its eight songs, Led Zeppelin IV moves seamlessly between acoustic folk influences and thunderous hard rock. Tracks like "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll" deliver explosive, riff-driven energy, while songs such as "Going to California" and "The Battle of Evermore" showcase a softer, more introspective side of the band. The dynamic shifts give the album a dramatic arc that feels both ambitious and carefully paced. It's an album that is greater than the sum of its parts.
That balance, between quiet and bombastic, mystical and grounded, helped define the band's sound at its peak. The record's sequencing is often praised for its flow, with each track building naturally into the next, culminating in one of the most memorable side-two experiences of the era.
Commercially, the album was a juggernaut. It became one of the best-selling albums of all time and remains a cornerstone of classic rock radio decades later. Critically, it continues to top "greatest albums" lists, a testament to its longevity and influence.
More than 50 years later, it still sounds just as monumental.
12 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' Spots That Have Closed Forever (And Why)
If you’re a fan of Guy Fieri’s "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," you know the thrill of walking into a restaurant that’s earned a Flavortown seal of approval. But not every spot featured on the show has managed to stay open.
From sky-high rents and pandemic shutdowns to diminishing foot traffic and owner burnout, a surprising number of Triple-D favorites have closed their doors for good. Even a visit from Guy Fieri isn’t always enough to guarantee long-term survival.

1. Ben's Best Deli (Queens, NY)After 73 years in business, this beloved kosher delicatessen shuttered in 2018. Jay Parker, the owner and son of the original owner, cited slow business tied to a lack of parking after the city installed bike lanes. The closure is part of a larger trend of kosher delis disappearing across New York City.
2. Eight Noodle Shop (Napa, CA)In a region better known for wine tastings, Eight Noodle Shop offered a casual place to grab comforting noodle bowls. In 2019, just one year after appearing on the show, the restaurant closed permanently. No specific reason was publicly shared, leaving a ramen-shaped hole in the hearts of many Napa locals.
3. The Red Door (Seattle, WA)This cozy neighborhood pub served fish and chips, burgers, and other comfort food staples for more than 30 years. With an expiring lease and rising operating costs, the owners were forced to close in March 2020, just days before widespread pandemic shutdowns hit Seattle.
4. Krokstrom (Kansas City, MO)Scandinavian cuisine is hard to come by, which made this one sting. Despite widespread praise and national attention, the Nordic comfort food restaurant closed in late 2019. The owners had openly shared their struggles to keep the business profitable and warned that closure was possible if things didn’t improve. Fans still talk about the wild mushroom strudel and Flying Jakob Swedish casserole Guy tried on the episode.
5. Brint's Diner (Wichita, KS)This no-frills diner was old school in the best way. Brint’s closed permanently in April 2022, but the end didn’t come out of nowhere. The restaurant had gone through multiple ownership changes and previous closures over the years, making it one more example of the classic American diner slowly vanishing.
6. Grubstak (Chandler, AZ)Grubstak took comfort food to another level with over-the-top loaded bowls. The Sweet Lou’s BBQ Stak piled waffle fries with BBQ-braised beef, applewood-smoked bacon, and house-made coleslaw. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed for good in June 2021 following COVID-19 shutdowns and broader business downturns.

7. Purple Carrot Food Truck (Arlington, VA)Purple Carrot’s farm-to-table approach focused on seasonal ingredients that tasted unmistakably fresh. Carrot sliders and rotating vegetable dishes made it a standout on the food truck scene. The truck closed around 2020 without a formal goodbye, though fans can still find elements of its cooking through Red Haven pop-up dinners.
8. Queen's Comfort (New York, NY)Another casualty of the pandemic, Queen’s Comfort closed in October 2020 after nine years in business. Limited outdoor seating, seasonal slowdowns, and ongoing rent costs made continuing impossible. The loss hit hard for locals who still miss dishes like the Atomic Fireballs (spicy mac and cheese balls).
9. Pok Pok (Portland, OR)It’s hard to imagine Portland without Pok Pok’s famous fish sauce wings. After nearly 15 years and multiple locations, the restaurant group shut down all remaining outposts by the end of 2020. Pandemic shutdowns delivered the final blow, though the business had already been facing mounting challenges.
10. Percy Street BBQ (Philadelphia, PA)You’d be hard-pressed to find a pork belly sandwich as good as Percy Street’s. The restaurant closed in 2017 after a mix of ownership changes and extensive water damage caused by flooding. Despite early hopes of reopening, it never returned.
11. Joe's Cable Car Restaurant (San Francisco, CA)This iconic Mission Street burger joint was featured on Triple D for its fresh ground beef steaks and old-school diner vibe. After nearly 49 years in business, owner Joe Obegi decided to close the restaurant on March 16, 2014 when he chose to retire rather than sell. The closure marked the end of a beloved local landmark known for juicy burgers and neon charm.
12. Blueplate Lunch Counter & Soda Fountain (Portland, OR)Guy Fieri visited this old-school lunch counter and soda fountain in downtown for its classic American comfort food. Think burgers, grilled cheese and tomato soup, milkshakes, and house-made sodas. Blueplate operated downtown for nine years before closing permanently on April 29, 2016 after its owner opted to shut down and pursue other projects.

Chrissy Hofbeck Reveals the Secret Conversation That Changed Everything on ‘Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers' (Exclusive)
The Final Six of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers walked back to camp, stunned. Seeing Ben Driebergen as the biggest threat in the game, everyone had piled their votes on him. But the Marine pulled out the first of a few "Ben Bombs," playing an idol that sent home Lauren Rimmer with one vote. In secrecy, however, Chrissy Hofbeck was celebratory.
"I actually also wanted Lauren out," Chrissy, who will be returning to our screens in the upcoming Survivor 50, reveals in an exclusive interview with Parade. "But I recognize that if I voted for Lauren with Ben, then I would be the enemy with Ben. So right before that vote, which we didn't see, I said to Ryan, 'Ben has the idol. Let's vote for Lauren. We'll be with everybody.'"

It was a wise move from the woman who would eventually become runner-up in one of the most (literally) hotly-contested endings in Survivor history. Indeed, the penultimate episode of Season 35 (which is reairing tonight as part of CBS's "Road to 50" programming) has the financial analyst comfortably in the majority, in full control of the game. Yes, there is yet another Ben idol find and play. But, as she tells us, that was merely a side dish to the main course she was serving up. Across this three-day period, Chrissy wins both reward and immunity. She locks in a Final Three alliance with Ryan Ulrich and Devon Pinto. And she plans and executes a pitch-perfect blindside on Ashley Nolan, breaking up the game's most solid duo just before the finale.
Read below for Chrissy's full interview with Parade, where she breaks down the events of "The Survivor Devil," and what she changed most about her approach going into Survivor 50.

Let's start with where this episode kicks off. Ben dropped his first "Ben Bomb" at Tribal Council, using his idol to nullify a unanimous vote against him and single-handedly sending Lauren home. What was your headspace as you arrived back at camp?
So I actually also wanted Lauren out. But I recognize that if I voted for Lauren with Ben, then I would be the enemy with Ben. So now that he has already waved around his idol and we knew that he was going to play it, it was actually a much smarter vote to vote with Devon, Ashley, Lauren and Mike and vote against Ben, and then I could sort of be back into the majority alliance. So right before that vote, which we didn't see, I said to Ryan, "Ben has the idol. Let's vote for Lauren. We'll be with everybody." And that's what ended up happening. So, yes, Ben plays an idol and gets this historic six votes against him or something. But I wanted Lauren out anyway.
So was Ben your number one target, no matter what, once that happened? Or did the idea of getting rid of Ashley germinate earlier than we saw?
So I think that we all recognize that we need to get Ben out of the game. But we're now down to a Final Xix, and we also know that eventually the idols run out, and we all are against Ben. So at this point, we're like, "Yeah, worse comes to worse, we can get him out of five. We can get him out of four. It doesn't really matter. We all want him out."
So my biggest problem at that point was not Ben. My problem was Ashley and Deoin were such a tight pair, and they were very obvious about it. And I started playing the game with Ashley. I approached her so many times. We talk about it to this day. I'm like, "I asked you so many times to play the game with me." She didn't want to. We were very good friends on the island. We're still very good friends to this day. But she didn't want to play that game with me. So I had to break up the twosome in a different way. So going into it, I was thinking, "We have to get Ben out, but we don't have to get him out now. So how can I split up Devon and Ashley?"
This is obviously a big challenge episode for you. You and Devon kick it off by winning reward, and you choose to bring Ryan. That sparks quite an emotional reaction from Ashley in the moment. And at Tribal Council, she tells Devon, "I know you weren't making the decision." How true is that?
Well, there was 0% chance that I was going to be the third wheel on an Ashley and Devon overnight date. That was never going to happen. I thought Devon would push back more. It literally happened exactly like you see it in the episode. I said to Devon, "I think we should take Ryan," and he goes, "Okay." It was easier than I thought. So then we brought Ryan. We got a king-size bed. I'm in the king-size bed with Ashley and Devon? No.
Mike also speaks up back at camp, upset that Ryan has been brought on so many rewards. Did you consider him at all?
No! That's funny. Why did I not think about bringing Mike? I don't know. At this point, my goal was really to split those two up. And I just figured I'd bring Ryan, and he was my sidekick.
This reward is where we see you lock in a Final Three deal with Ryan and Devon, which you'll take all the way to the Final Four. Was this something you had gone into the reward wanting to do, or did it happen spontaneously?
We were sort of talking about it, but. When you're talking about it at dinner, how much does that hold? I don't know. It's sort of like anytime someone makes a Final Three deal, you say yes.
What happened, though, and this was not on camera, because our camera person was sleeping. In the middle of the night, I actually woke up, and I thought, "Okay, I'm just going to go outside. I'm going to look at the stars. I'm going to think." And I was out there for a good probably 10 minutes. Devon woke up. I'm sure he panicked and wondered," Where the heck am I?" And he came. I was just standing right there, and we started talking about the game. And I looked at him and said, "Devon, I know we kind of talked about it. But I literally think, you me and Ryan have to be the Final Three. That has to be the Final Three." And he said, "I do too." And we hugged, and it was real. It was a real moment where we locked in the endgame, and that is how the endgame was meant to play out.
What was your relationship like with Devon up to that point? Because we really didn't see much with the two of you until this episode.
I mean, I can't speak for Devon, because I don't know exactly what he was thinking at that time. But my hunch would be that he recognizes Lauren is now gone. Ben is public enemy number one, and Devon is probably also trying to get himself into a majority alliance. And he's probably thinking, "What's the best way to do that?" That's my guess. I don't know. And Devon could have been lying to me for all I know. But I felt like it was a real moment. Wait, can I just tell you, though, about that night, which you totally didn't see on camera?
Please!
So food is hard to come by, right? So we have this huge table of food. And at some point, the food goes away. And we said, "Well, can we bring the food into bed?" And they said, "We'll give you plates, and as much as you can bring with you, you can take." So we had these three plates, and we literally piled them with as much food as you could possibly imagine.
So we get in the bed, which is this big, king-size bed. Devon and I were on either side; Ryan was in the middle. And we slept with our plates of food. And we would literally power nap for 45 minutes, let food digest, and then we would wake up and just eat as much as we possibly could until we couldn't eat anymore. And then we'd be like, "Okay, go to sleep again!" And then we go to sleep for 45 more minutes and wake up and be like, "Okay, you guys. Wake up. Wake up. We have to eat more." We had so much fun just trying to stuff as much as we possibly could into our little bodies.
Courtesy of CBS
Well, all that food came in handy immediately in the next Immunity Challenge! As Jeff points out, you end up winning in the exact same site as where you puked and nearly passed out in the premiere. What was it like to have that full-circle moment?
I mean, realistically, for me to win any challenge was like, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe I won a challenge." And that was, I think, the second one that I won. But when I saw that challenge, I did "slow and steady wins the race." You see I'm last one down the net, the last one running. I kind of thought, "I'm not going to tire myself out, because I'm pretty sure that I can probably get this before everyone else." I'm a visual learner and very mathematical. And so when it was the gears puzzle, I just kind of knew to go about it methodically. The hardest part about that puzzle, honestly, is we weren't allowed to put any of the gears on the ground. They had to be either on these two spindles, or on your puzzle. So we had to figure out how to make it without spreading them out and looking at them.
Let's talk about how you got that blindside in gear! What do you recall about being able to convince Mike, Ryan and especially Devon to vote out Ashley?
I don't remember, but my hunch is that probably we all assumed we could get Ben out at five or four. Idols expire at five. And if it was me, Devin, Mike and Ryan, I think that probably Mike and Ryan recognized they had to split up this pair. Devon and Ashley were very tight. They would go into Tribal Council and talk about who was going to give who the neck rub when they got back. And I'd be like, "What? How do you know one of you isn't getting voted out tonight?" It was very good on them, but unfortunately, it didn't work out well for Ashley. And realistically, had Ashley agreed to work with me, I would have worked with her to get Devon out.
Interesting! So you were fine going to the end with Ashleyif she wanted to work with you?
I didn't want to go to an endgame with a tight pair, because I thought there was a chance that I might not get taken to a Final Three scenario. Now, actually, that's backwards knowledge, right, isn't it? Courtney Yates, wasn't she the one who said you never go to the Final Three with a pair, because then the other person always wins? See, I should have thought more about her strategy. I probably should have brought Ashley and Devon. But it didn't matter, because guess what? Ben just kept turning up with idols. And when there were no more idols to be, there was a fire-making challenge. So, whatever.
Speaking of those idols, we see a whole sequence of Ben finding an idol clue, having to stick his hand under the middle of the shelter to get one. Did you catch onto any of what he was doing, considering how public it was?
To me, it didn't matter. That wasn't something I was focusing on. Because at Final Six, again, I still know that we have time to vote Ben out later. I didn't think that I was the target. So whether Ben had an idol or not didn't really matter to me. Because ultimately, there was the goal that we could get him out at Final Four. And we kept saying to each other, "Okay, he's the only one who can't win immunity." And he didn't, because then I just kept winning it!
Let's get into Tribal Council. The edit presents it as if the vote could be either Ben or Ashley. But was one outcome locked in stone before you sat down?
I believe the plan was always Ashley.
And that was helped by the fact that Ben makes Survivor history here. He pulls out his idol, and when Devon keeps saying he's not gonna play it, he ends up doing so, the first time that's happened before the vote. Did that throw you off at all?
It was just more of his shenanigans. Did it throw me off? I don't know. The whole game is like getting thrown off at stuff, right, Mike? I mean, every moment is insane. Probably it did. I think I was laughing because it was probably also fun and crazy. I probably made all sorts of the facial expressions because he's also totally obnoxious, which is hilarious. Ben is great. Ben and I are still friends, by the way.
To that point about your reaction, after he does it, you flat-out roll your eyes and say, "Okay, well that's a little ridiculous."
Yeah, it didn't need to be that crazy. But you know what? That's what makes Survivor fun. But we all knew that we wanted to get Ben out. So in the absence of being able to get Ben out, you split up the pair. Now, who would it have been had he now played the Ben bomb? I think it still would have been Ashley.
We see Ashley take the blindside hard, as she denies Devon a hug on the way out. Did you feel she was regarding you a certain way at all?
No. Because, again, she and I were friends on the island, but she didn't want to play the game with me. She actually didn't have any game animosity towards me, because she ended up voting for me to win the million dollars, right? I think that she knew that I did that because she had declined me enough times.
Fiinally, what's one similarity and one difference between the Chrissy we saw in this episode of Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers and the Chrissy we're going to see in Survivor 50?
Okay, I have to give you a slight backstory about that. So what do I do as an actuary? I think of all the possible combinations that happen in the future, and we assign a probability to it, and we say, "What do I need to do now to be ready for that?" So when I was playing 35, every time we were going to Tribal, I would say, "Okay, what if we have to vote out two people? What if there's a second one?" Finally, Ben came to me and said, "Chrissy, you are being paranoid. You have to stop doing this, because people think you're being paranoid." And I was like, "Alright, that's a little crazy." It was not crazy! [Laughs.] I should have thought of every possibility.
And so when I went into 50, I was like, "I can be paranoid all I want, just don't express it to other people." But I definitely then started thinking, "What is going to be thrown at us now?" The theme of the season, "In the Hands of the Fans," is we don't know what the fans are voting. We don't know if the fans voted Final Four firemaking. We don't know if the fans voted idols into the game or not. But that's one difference. I went into the game saying, "Trust yourself and think about all the possibilities."
A similarity is that we saw it in 35 that I literally clawed my way to the end of the game. And I went into 50 feeling very similar. It's never over till it's over. So there is no chance that I was ever going to roll over and die, or just say, "Oh well, it's me." So I really went into that thinking, "There's always a chance." Until that torch gets snuffed, or, you know, you're called the winner, there's always a chance.
'90s Rocker Opens Up About Legendary Band's Future After Longtime Member's Departure
Over three decades since Pearl Jam shot to the top of the charts with their debut album, Ten, the iconic grunge band's tunes are still just as popular as ever...but is there any new Pearl Jam music on the horizon?
When longtime drummer Matt Cameron left the band seven months ago, it seemed the future of Pearl Jam was up in the air. But as frontman Eddie Vedder told Rolling Stone in a new interview, Cameron's departure didn't mark the end of Pearl Jam. In fact, Vedder found an apt description for the group's situation in something he read about his own band.
"The quote was, I think, ‘Pearl Jam is in between eras at the moment,'" he explained. "And I thought that was actually pretty concise."
"We're in the lab, we’re woodshedding, excited," Vedder continued. "It’s cool to think of change. As much as we'd like to have done it the way we did it forever — and we'll still be able to do that thing — I think we’re all just excited for the future."

Cameron announced he would be leaving Pearl Jam after 27 years with original members Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Jeff Ament in July 2025.

Alex Vesia Opens Up About Healing With Wife Kayla After the Death of Their Baby Girl
During an emotionally charged press conference on Friday, February 13, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia spoke about how he and his wife, Kayla Vesia, are navigating life following the death of their newborn daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, on October 26, 2025.
"The lessons we've learned from this is that life can change in an instant. For us, 10 minutes is all it took," Vesia, 29, addressed the audience at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.
"Sterling Sol was the most beautiful girl in the world. We got to hold her, change her diaper, read to her and love her. Our time together was far too short. Kay and I will keep those precious moments and memories to ourselves. I hope that anyone listening can empathize and respect our wishes for privacy as we continue to heal and as we navigate the ups and downs of a baseball season,” he continued.
Vesia, who spoke for more than six minutes, also shared that he and Kayla, who got married in January 2024, are in therapy.
"It hasn't been easy, but talking to someone, it has made a difference," he assured, before encouraging others in their position to do the same. "For those out there who've lost a child or are fighting through any struggle, if you can take anything from this, please seek help. Talk to somebody. It's definitely helped Kay and I. Please don't be afraid to speak up. Your mental health matters.
Vesia added, "I've learned that what has happened to us has also happened to so many families, and realizing that has deepened our empathy and our gratitude for this community. The baseball community is extremely strong."
According to those who attended the press conference, Vesia took a deep breath before saying, "I was not prepared to not bring my baby girl home, but we're carrying her with us every day. It's been hard, but we're doing OK."
‘Melrose Place’ Star Says Her Marriage Is 'the Best Thing' to Come Out of the Show
Actress Laura Leighton appeared in the first five seasons of the hit '90s series, Melrose Place.
In a January 2025 interview on the Still Here Hollywood podcast, hosted by Steve Kmetko, Leighton discussed playing her Melrose Place character, Sydney Andrews.
During the interview, Kmetko noted that Leighton ended up marrying her Melrose Place co-star, Doug Savant, who played Matt Fielding, a year after she left the series in 1998. Kmetko referenced that Savant has said that "the best thing that came out of the show" was his relationship with Leighton. Leighton replied that she agreed with Savant, whom she described as "a very good husband."
"I absolutely do. I mean who would have thought? We're [at] 26 years of marriage and we've raised four children together. And we're pretty proud of that and still going. And it truly was the best thing to come out of the show," said Leighton on the podcast episode.
Laura Leighton Discussed the Legacy of 'Melrose Place'During the Still Here Hollywood podcast interview, Leighton discussed the legacy of Melrose Place, which had a seven-season run until 1999. She said that the show's creator and executive producer, Darren Star and Aaron Spelling, understood how to connect with audiences.
"It was television tapping into what people wanted to talk about the next day. And Darren Star and Aaron Spelling really had their finger on the pulse of telling those kinds of stories that were really like water cooler television talk," said Leighton during the interview.
She also said that she feels "really lucky" to have been part of "such a cultural moment."
In addition, Leighton said she felt a sense of camaraderie with her Melrose Place castmates, which included Heather Locklear, Andrew Shue, and Josie Bissett.
"If you're lucky enough to get [a show] that lasts as long as Melrose did, it becomes a family. And so having that place to go every week is something, there's nothing like it. And you miss it when it's gone," said Leighton while recording the 2025 podcast episode.
Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir Share Powerful Messages for Ilia Malinin After Devastating Falls
Figure skating legends and The Traitors season 4 stars Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir took to social media to send support and strength to Team USA's star figure skaterIlia Malininafter several uncharacteristic flubs and two falls took away the 21-year-old "Quad God's" shot at a medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Feb. 13.
"The grace, honesty and sportsmanship you showed in a moment of heartbreak reveals you are not only an elite athlete but a gracious human being," wrote Lipinski, 43, in her heartfelt message on Instagram shortly after the stunning event. "I can’t wait to watch you rise."
For his part, 41-year-old Weir, Lipinski's longtime bestie, called Malinin "One in a million."
"You showed true sportsmanship and grace," he added. "I can’t wait to see where you’ll take us next."
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rN9nj2X2_ZA
The sportsmanship they're referring to came in the form of support for his fellow competitors in the face of massive personal devastation. Though he didn't end up on the podium and finished in eight place with a score of 264.49 (despite many expecting him to take home gold), Malinin could be seen sweetly embracing and congratulating Mikhail Shaidorov, the Kazakh figure skater who took home the gold for the men's singles event.
Olympic sportsmanship at its finest. 🙌 #WinterOlympics pic.twitter.com/ZahQr7pnOo
— NBC Olympics & Paralympics (@NBCOlympics) February 13, 2026Malinin was very much the favorite heading into the games, and was even expected to attempt the elusive quadruple Axel. Though he's accomplished the feat before, it has never been done in the Olympics. Unfortunately, he turned the quadruple in his routine to a single amid several mistakes and two actual falls. It's the first time he's lost since 2023.
Lipinski, who was commentating the event, called the gaffes "shocking," and Malinin himself seemed stunned. “I can’t process what just happened,” he told NBC’s Andrea Joyce. “I blew it.” When asked what happened, he said it was "definitely mental."
“This is probably the worst meltdown in figure skating history, certainly Olympic history, by a favorite,” sports analyst Christine Brennan told CNN, calling the loss “as big an upset in sports as we’ve probably ever seen.”
Despite that, fans have rallied around Malinin. "As Jim McKay once said 'the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.' We will see him again in 4 years," said one supporter in Weir's comments, while another added, "It's just a step and experience. It hurts but it will only make him stronger. @ilia_quadg0d_malinin we love you and proud of you!"

Per Variety, Robbie explained that she used Rachel McAdams'audition for The Notebook to prepare for her own auditions.
"I used to watch Rachel McAdams' audition for The Notebook before I would go to auditions. She’s so good, and she’s so charming and real, and like, in it...I used to watch it before I’d go to an audition, I was like, 'OK, just try and be as good as her,'" Robbie explained.
The Barbie actress went on, "Technically, you could say any part I got would’ve been in thanks to her because I was always watching her audition before. It’s just the commitment. I always watched it to remind myself that you have to fully commit in the audition room."

'Days of Our Lives' Sets Billy Flynn's Exit Date
The moment Days of Our Lives have dreaded has finally arrived as Billy Flynn’s final episode date as Chad DiMera has officially been revealed.
Flynn final appearance is set for Tuesday, February 17. In the episode, Chad leaves Salem with his children, Thomas (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte (Autumn Gendron), for what is described as a temporary move to Arizona.
Chad first shared his plans during the week of February 9, 2026, telling Jullie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) that he wanted to take his children away for awhile. He later informed his former love interest Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) that he would be leaving Salem.
In a recent Parade reader poll asking what might be next for Chad and Cat’s relationship following Flynn’s exit, 32% of respondents said they believe Cat will move on without Chad, while 26% predicted a romantic reunion after his eventual return.
As Parade previously reported, the role of Chad has been recast with former The Young and the Restless actor Conner Floyd. A spokesperson for the show also confirmed to Parade that the role of Thomas DiMera has also been recast.
For a brief period, both Flynn and Floyd appeared on The Young and the Restless at the same time, before Floyd’s character, Chance Chancellor, was written off the series.
Floyd is scheduled to make his debut as Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives beginning April 21, 2026.
Following his departure from Days of Our Lives, Flynn joined fellow Sony soap The Young and the Restless, where he reunited with executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith and stepped into the role of Cane Ashby.
For his portrayal of Chad DiMera, Flynn earned Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series in 2017, 2019, and most recently in 2023.
Flynn joined the cast of Days of our Lives in 2014 taking over the role from Casey Deidrick, and has appeared off and on ever since.
Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.

How To Make the Best-Ever Valentine's Day Steak, According to My Chef-Husband
Moving with your spouse is never easy. Moving with a chef-husband, on the other hand, is a whole different level of chaos. Somewhere between searching for missing sheet pans and debating which is the proper drawer for fish spatulas, Valentine’s Day quietly crept up on us.
Normally, I’d vote for a cozy restaurant, a great bottle of red and zero dishes to wash. Luke’s first choice? Texas Roadhouse. (Not mine.) But with half our life still in cardboard boxes and our cookware buried somewhere in the garage, staying in suddenly felt like the more realistic—and strangely more romantic—option.
So I asked the obvious question: Should we just grill?
Sure, it was barely 10 degrees outside. Yes, this seemed mildly unhinged. But grilling meant one thing we desperately needed in the middle of moving chaos: simplicity.
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being married to a chef, it’s that great food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the most memorable meals come down to a beautiful piece of meat, a hot fire and a little patience. Add a slice of melty compound butter and a glass of wine, and suddenly staying home feels less like Plan B and more like the best Valentine’s Day idea we’ve had in years.
Want to try it at your place this year? Here’s exactly how my chef-husband makes a steakhouse-worthy Valentine’s dinner—right in our own backyard.

Forget marinades. Forget complicated homemade rubs. Forget anything TikTok told you. Luke’s rule is beautifully minimal: room-temperature meat (he chose a ribeye for two, in honor of the holiday’s shared spirit) and a simple seasoning blend—like the cheeky Brisket of Love barbecue rub he brought home from The Spice House.
The smoky-sweet Spice House blend is great, but if you're short on time or ingredients, salt and pepper alone are all you really need for a perfect steak.
As for the compound butter, the formula is just as easy: good butter, a handful of fresh herbs (Luke loves parsley, chives and sage), a clove or two of finely chopped garlic and a bit of minced shallot. Simple ingredients; steakhouse-level payoff.

How To Make the Best Valentine's Day Steak"Hot man; hot pan!" he laughs when I ask him the key to nailing a Valentine's Day steak. "Just kidding," he quickly pivots. "Our pan is still lost in boxes, and I'm not smoking up the house." Plus, grilling is really the best way to cook a steak, he tells me, and luckily, Luke's Valentine's Day present was just delivered.
What to get the chef-husband who has everything, plus two kitchens? Answer: a Big Green Egg. It's the king of grills, especially among discerning (and extremely picky) chefs. Luke fires up the Egg and gets to work seasoning the room-temperature—never cold out of the fridge—meat.
"A good rule is when you light the grill, take the meat out and season it then and there," he says. It'll absorb some of the salt and then that step is over. It's not a step you want to be doing at the grill."
Courtesy Kelli Acciarco Venner
He also grabs some extra shallots he bought for the butter and portobello mushroom caps that needed to be used up for a little veggie skewer side. Those get a drizzle of olive oil, along with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
"All right, now, people ask me, how long do you cook a steak?" he says, noting that it's an impossible question. "Grills are different, and the thicknesses of steaks are different. If you have a thick cut of meat, it's best to use a thermometer. If you're grilling a thin cut, use your best judgment and try to get a good caramelization. Factor in time to rest for five to ten minutes before you serve."
While the steak sizzles, he moves on to what might be the real star of the night, the compound butter.

I might be biased, but Luke's herby compound butter is the ultimate steakhouse topper. Not au poivre, not béarnaise, though that’s a close runner-up. For me, butter loaded with garlic and fresh herbs is the real key to winning my heart, and Luke’s method couldn’t be easier.
First, he adds chopped shallots, garlic, parsley, chives and sage to a blender (a food processor works, too). Then he feeds in softened butter and blends everything until smooth and fully incorporated.
If you're making the butter ahead, you can transfer it to a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment, shape it into a log, roll it up and chill it until you're ready to use it. The log shape (see below) makes it easy to slice and gives the steak a restaurant-level look, but you can also use the butter as soon as you mix it up.

That’s it. No chef theatrics required. Plus, melting a round of that butter over a hot steak?
Instant romance.

My Honest Thoughts About My Chef-Husband’s Valentine’s SteakCourtesy Churncraft
Here’s the truth: I love a fancy dinner out as much as anyone, but there’s something sweeter about staying home, opening a bottle of wine and eating a perfectly cooked steak in pajamas.
And this steak? Absolute perfection. Smoky char on the outside, a deeply seasoned crust from the BBQ blend and a juicy medium-rare center—just the way I like it. (Not still mooing, the way Luke prefers.) I always appreciate when he cooks to my preferences. It's the little things, after all, that make the best dinners: A hot grill, good butter and someone you love sitting across the table.

4 Tips for Making This Steak1. Choose the right cutAccording to Luke, the biggest mistake home cooks make is getting overly ambitious. “You don’t want to get over your skis,” he tells me. “If you’ve never cooked a bone-in porterhouse for two, maybe start with something smaller—like a petite filet.” If you're not sure what to get, ask someone at the butcher counter to help you out.
2. Nail the timingSeason the steak when you light the grill so the salt absorbs properly—and you’re not scrambling when it's time for the meat to hit the fire.
3. Don’t cook by the clockSteak thickness and grill heat vary. Use a thermometer for thick cuts and instinct for thin ones.
4. Let it rest—then add butterResting the steak for five to ten minutes keeps it juicy, not dry. Finish with a slice of herb-packed compound butter melting over the top for that final, steakhouse-worthy touch.

This Classic Track Was Just Named the Top Song of 1976
Nearly 50 years after its release, the Eagles' hit 1976 song, "Hotel California," is getting some serious recognition.
Ultimate Classic Rockreleased their list of "The Top 40 songs of 1976," ranked by the publication's staff. The list featured several hits from the year, including The Rolling Stones' "Memory Motel," "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Ramones, "The First Cut Is the Deepest" by Rod Stewart, "Rich Girl" by Daryl Hall & John Oates, Blue Oyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) The Reaper, "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas, Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way," and "You Should Be Dancing" by the Bee Gees. However, the Eagles' classic "Hotel California," from the Hotel California album, got the number one spot.
The publication reasoned that the 6:31-minute track deserved the title of the top 1976 song because of the gravity and gloominess of its lyrics. In addition, Don Felder and Joe Walsh's impressive use of their guitars was highlighted as what makes the song work.
Don Felder Opened up About Writing 'Hotel California' in a 2008 InterviewFelder, who is a former member of the Eagles, discussed co-writing "Hotel California" in a 2008 interview on The Howard Stern Show. He explained he was casually playing his guitar while on a beach with his young children, near his rental house in Malibu. He said that he started playing what eventually became the song's introduction and decided he needed to immediately record it. According to Felder, the first recording of the song was "almost identical to what's on the record," minus "a few guitar solos on the end" and the lyrics, which were written by Glenn Frey and Don Henley.
In a 2025 interview with Get on the Bus, Felder complimented Henley's abilities as a lyricist. Felder said Henley was able to craft vivid imagery when writing "Hotel California."
"Don Henley is just a brilliant lyricist. He writes in little picture postcards," said the 78-year-old guitarist in the interview.

Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie Xo Details ‘One of the Darkest Times’ of Her Life Amid Weight-Loss Journey
Bunnie Xo, the wife of country star Jelly Roll, recently opened up about what she calls “one of the darkest times” of her life. In an exclusive interview with People, she revealed she went through “a bout of suicidal ideation” while taking a GLP-1.
“It was scary,” Bunnie Xo, 46, recalled of that painful and unexpected experience, which occurred over the month of December 2025. “I prided myself on the fact that I only had anxiety. I never had depression. So when you get slammed with suicidal ideation and visions and just, oh, it was horrific.”
Luckily, She Says She Is OkThough the month was especially difficult, Bunnie Xo emphasized that she is doing better now.
“I'm good now," she said. "December was a rough month, let me tell you."
She also reflected on the contrast between anxiety and depression from her perspective, saying “You want to have anxiety because you want to be scared to die. You don't want to have depression because you literally don't care if you want to die. So yeah, it was really dark.”
She Opened up About Her HealthThe Dumb Blonde podcast host, who will release her highly anticipated memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, on Feb. 17, shared that she technically needs to consider GLP-1 medication citing high levels of insulin and a family history of diabetes. But, unfortunately, for her, she says, “my body just cannot tolerate it.”
Despite the challenges she faced, Bunnie Xo hopes that by sharing her story she can open up the conversation to help others recognize the warning signs of depression and suicidal thoughts, and empower them to seek help before it’s too late.
She’s Leaving a Message With Others“I really think people need to talk more about this…. I haven't had suicidal ideation like this since 2020. That's how bad it was,” she said reflecting on a separate time she dealt with the unwanted thoughts that led her to now speak out on the topic.
“I just want people to know you're not alone. Everybody goes through ups and downs and you are worth staying here. Please stay,” she pleaded. “Everybody, please stay because you're here for a reason and you're going through this, but do not make a permanent decision based on a temporary emotion because it will go away."
If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide or struggling with suicidal thoughts, help is available 24 hours a day through the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
