Looking back at the landscape of rock history, a series of bands is as distinctive as The Police. The London-formed group recorded their debut single, "Fall Out," 49 years ago today, marking the beginning of an era.

According to This Day in Music, Sting (Gordon Summer), Stewart Copeland, and Henry Padovani recorded their debut single on Feb. 12, 1977, at Pathway Studios in London, England. Back in the day, it only cost roughly $255 for a recording session that would start the beginning of their punk rock career.

The track was written by drummer Copeland and is one of the only The Police songs with Padovani as the original guitarist. Andy Summers joined the band in July 1977, and they became a four-member band before Padovani was asked to leave in August 1977.

"Fall Out" was written by Copeland and was one of the first songs he ever presented to lead singer and bassist Sting. In Message in a Box Liner Notes, Sting commented on how their first song was "entirely a tribute to Stewart's energy and focus." He admitted the band wouldn't have existed without him.

Due to Padovani's nerves, he only played the guitar solos, and Sopeland took over the rest of the parts. He commented that it was one of the "rare instances in which I got to play guitar," as well as the B-side "Nothing Achieved."

The photo for their first debut single was of the three of them, taken from the roof of Copeland's apartment by his friend Lawrence Impey. "Fall Out," and the B-side were later released in May 1977, with Sting crediting Mick Jagger's review in Sounds of the single for its success. The rocker called it the single "competently played rock, with nasal annihilated vocals."

Their debut single failed to enter the charts or get critical acclaim until it was re-released in 1979 and landed a No. 47 spot on the UK Singles Chart.

On Feb. 12, 1972, Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” became the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. The smooth soul ballad began a one-week run at the top of the pop chart, marking a major moment in music history. More than five decades later, the track remains one of the most loved love songs ever recorded.

The single also reached No. 1 on the rhythm-and-blues chart, confirming Green as a crossover star during the golden age of 1970s soul music. Written by Al Green, producer Willie Mitchella nd drummer Al Jackson, Jr., the song blended romance and a soft but steady groove that defined Green’s signature sound.

At a time when soul music was growing across America, “Let’s Stay Together” stood out for its warmth and honesty. Green’s voice moved from a gentle falsetto to a deep, emotional tone. The music felt both sacred and romantic, shaped by Mitchell’s polished production at Hi Records in Memphis.

“Let’s Stay Together” became the title track of Green’s first gold album. It followed the success of his million-selling hit “Tired of Being Alone” in 1971 and helped launch a streak of classic releases throughout the early 1970s. Between 1971 and 1974, Green released eight gold singles and sold millions of records.

During a June 2025 performance outside Chicago, Green worked the song into his live set, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. 

“Oh, you know it too!” he said as fans sang along, per Forbes. Even at 79, Green’s voice was described as strong and soulful, with no backing tracks.

Green’s career spans decades. Born Albert Leornes Greene on April 13, 1946, in Forrest City, Arkansas, he rose from singing gospel as a child to becoming one of the most popular soul performers of the 1970s. 

He later became an ordained minister in 1976 and founded the Full Gospel Tabernacle church in Memphis. His life and music have always balanced faith and love.

The anniversary of “Let’s Stay Together” comes as Green continues to create new music. In January 2026, the 11-time Grammy winner released a four-song EP titled To Love Somebody via Fat Possum Records. The project includes covers of the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody,” The Velvet Underground’s “I Found a Reason,” R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” and a reworked version of “Perfect Day” featuring English singer RAYE.

“When Fat Possum came to my studio and played me ‘To Love Somebody’ and ‘I Found A Reason,’ I felt this instant connection and harmonies immediately filled me,” Green said, per Rated R&B. “The music spoke to me, so we immediately went to work.”

The EP marks his first non-compilation project since his 2008 album Lay It Down, which debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. That record featured collaborations with John Legend, Anthony Hamilton and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Green has earned 11 Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2014. Rolling Stone has ranked him among the greatest artists and singers of all time.

Still, it is “Let’s Stay Together” that many fans think of first. Fifty-four years after topping the Billboard Hot 100, “Let’s Stay Together” is more than just a chart milestone. It is a timeless anthem of love, sung by one of the greatest voices in American music history.

Ever sinceToday Show anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, went missing from her Tucson, Arizona home over a week ago, people across the country have been hoping and praying for her safe return.

On February 10, the Pima County Sheriff's Department released new door camera images of a potential suspect in the disappearance, which Savannah Guthrie shared on her Instagram page on the same day in the hopes that someone will recognize this person.

She captioned the post with, "We believe she is still alive. Bring her home."

On the same day, TMZ reported that the bitcoin account associated with the ransom note got a deposit, and the Sheriff's department later detained a suspect, who has since been released. The department also revealed that they were searching the foothills surrounding Nancy Guthrie's home.

On February 12, it was also reported that a white tent has been set up in front of Nancy's house, which covers her front door.

A little while ago, Savannah shared a heartbreaking new update about her mom on Instagram in the form of a collage of family home videos.

The video, which features footage of Nancy as a young woman with her young children, is just so heartbreaking to watch, as we can only imagine the pain and devastation Savannah and her family are going through during this awful time.

Immediately, fans flooded the comments with prayers and well wishes for the family. One person said, "Praying nonstop for your mama 🙏🏻 bring Nancy home! 🙏🏻"

Someone else added, "Thinking of you and praying for your family every day ❤️"

After exploding on the scene like a sharpened needle popping a mylar balloon, Ekko Astral has returned with their highly anticipated album, the beltway is burning.

Out on April 22 via Topshelf Records, Ekko Astral’s second album is a surrealist depiction of real-time events taking place in The Beltway—the area within I-495, the Interstate Highway that surrounds America’s capital. Heralding their return is “lil xan goes to washington,” a lead single that has fans counting down the days until the new album.

“Why is this so good?” asked a newly minted Ekko fan on YouTube. “I can make it two and a half months I can make it two and a half months I can make it two and a half months,” wrote another YouTube commenter. On Ekko Astral’s Instagram, Mx Loneycommented, “Been waiting for this one” (a sentiment shared by many, as many fans left strings of fire emojis).

Ekko Astraldid not burst onto the scene in 2024, but exploded like a much-needed Big Bang. Their debut album, pink balloons, wove unabashed vulnerability with sorrow-laden rage, haunting melodies with noise-punk fury that echoed long after the record was over.

This remarkable album earned widespread critical praise, including Pitchfork’s pick for “Best Rock Album” of the year. The band (Jael Holzman, Liam Hughes, and Miri Tyler) continued its upward momentum with tours alongside rock stars such as Jeff Rosenstock, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, IDLES, and PUP.

The band will headline the second night of Liberation Weekend II.

Ekko Astral’ Shares Meaning Behind ‘lil xan goes to washington’

Ekko Astral’s the beltway is burning is full of songs that play out like fictional vignettes, painting a D.C. where Adam Sandleris president, the DMC is a demilitarized zone, and SoundCloud rappers are public policy advocates.

Case in point: “lil xan goes to washington,” a fable that marries a fictionalized version of Lil Xan with the personal experiences of Ekko Astral’s frontwoman, Jael Holzman.

In a personal essay published February 12, Holzman writes how the song sees Xan, who rose in popularity in the late 2010s, “storm Congress in the hopes they take up his cause of Xanax addiction relief.”

Holzman says Jelly Roll’s lobbying for medical billing transparency legislation first inspired her to write a poem about Lil Xan (born Nicholas Diego Leanos), who is a known advocate against Xanax’s proliferation.

In the song, Xan, “like everyone else who ever enters that world,” gets swallowed up by the D.C. political machine. “He becomes a lobbyist for pharmaceuticals. He meets politicians putting migrants in ‘spiked out cages, ad infinitum.’ He goes on CNN, smiling ear to ear, only to feel nothing but demons inside,” writes Holzman.

She writes, “By the time “lil xan” reaches its conclusion and the tune explodes into a cacophonous barrage, Xan, like I have asked all my life, asks of the heavens: What’s real?”

This blurring of reality, between the persona one shows to the camera and the ones reserved for high-powered donors, stems from Holzman’s tenure as a D.C. reporter, a life she details in her essay.

Holzman also shared a connection to Lil Xan. His “borderline-punk form of brainless male self-indulgence…hit me at a moment in my early twenties before I came out as trans, at my absolute maximum repression, and I liked how he truly just did not give a f—k.”

Holzman also noted that she and a former best friend had nicknames for each other—she was “Lil Xan” and he was “Trippie Redd,” a similar Soundcloud rapper. Her friend “ceased contact with me after I came out as a woman,” she writes. “When Lil Xan ended, I began. I guess we never really can know what’s real.”

TV coverage of James Van Der Beek’s tragic death on Feb. 11 from colon cancer at the age of 48 frequently featured singer Paula Cole’s 1997 hit “I Don’t Want to Wait,” which served as the theme song for Dawson’s Creek, the TV show that starred the late actor.

On Feb. 10, just a day before Van Der Beek’s death, Cole announced a tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of This Fire, her breakthrough album that spawned her unforgettable hit song that served as the Dawson’s Creek theme.

“30 YEARS AGO “This Fire” came into the world and changed my life.  So I’m hitting the road with my amazing band THIS FALL 2026 to celebrate this pivotal album,” Cole wrote in a post shared on her official Instagram account. “Let’s share the stories, the songs, and this fire that still burns. Comment with the emoji “🔥” and receive pre-sale information. I can’t wait to see you out there. Let’s do this together!”

The caption incorporated a current photo of Cole with the words “This Fire: 30,” a photo of the album cover, the tour dates, and the words “Performing the album in its entirety.” Fittingly, “I Don’t Want to Wait” is the 11th song on the album, so it will come at the climax of Cole’s set devoted to her classic record.

The 13-date tour kicks off on Sept. 17 at Webster Hall in New York and concludes Oct. 11 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, Wash.

Although Cole announced the tour prior to Van Der Beek’s death, the timing was not lost on at least one fan, who posted “RIP James Van Der Beek” in the comments.

Others were just happy to hear that Cole is hitting the road. “tickets purchased! Can't wait!” wrote one.

Yet another fan shared a completely bonkers story about the lengths he went to not to miss one of Cole’s gigs 26 years ago.

“Holy shit! True story: @paulacoleofficial in 2000 I was going to school at the University of Cincinnati and I won tickets to your show in Akron, OH. But the week of the concert turned out to be during my spring break and I had already bought a plane ticket home to Atlanta. So when I won I literally flew home to Atlanta from Cincinnati, borrowed my aunt’s car because my car was still in Cincinnati, and drove from Atlanta to Akron just for your show, stayed on a friends couch afterwards, and drove all the way back to Atlanta for the rest of the week. That concert is still one of my top five concerts of all time. 🔥🔥🔥”

Fat is one of the nutrients that confuses people the most, especially when it comes to managing blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, your cardiologist has likely told you to ease up on foods that are notoriously high in fat, like cheeseburgers, butter and fried foods. 

Indeed, foods high in saturated fat (like the ones mentioned above) are scientifically linked to raising blood pressure when eaten regularly. But unsaturated fat is different. This type of fat is actually good for blood pressure and for heart health overall, and is found in foods such as avocado, nuts and extra-virgin olive oil.

Salmon is one food that’s high in unsaturated fats, specifically long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Even though salmon has the “good” type of fat, you may still be wondering if it’s safe to eat regularly. Especially if you are eating salmon more often to replace protein sources high in saturated fat (like steak, sausage and bacon), it’s important to know how much salmon it’s safe to eat regularly and how it impacts your heart health, including blood pressure.

Here, two cardiologists and two registered dietitians explain how eating salmon impacts blood pressure, both immediately after eating it and long-term when eaten regularly.

How Salmon Impacts Blood Pressure

In terms of how salmon impacts blood pressure immediately after eating it, Dr. Joy Gelbman, MD, a cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine, says that there is no immediate effect. If you do notice a change in blood pressure right after eating salmon, it’s caused by either what you’re seasoning your salmon with (watch out for sauces high in sodium) or other foods or drinks you’re pairing with it. 

Jess Rybka, RD, a registered dietitian with Sarah Wragge Wellness, agrees. “Eating salmon does not have an immediate effect—considered within minutes or hours—on blood pressure,” she says.

It’s a different story, however, when it comes to eating salmon regularly. According to all four experts, eating salmon a few times a week can help lower blood pressure over time. “Regular consumption can modestly improve blood pressure, mainly through the ability of omega-3s to relax blood vessels,” Dr. Gelbman tells Parade.

Abbey Sharp, RD, a registered dietitian and author of The Hunger Crushing Combo Method, explains that the omega-3s in salmon reduce blood pressure by helping blood vessels relax and also by lowering inflammation. 

Scientific research backs this up. According to one study published in the journal Atherosclerosis, adults who ate salmon every day for four weeks saw an average 4% drop in blood pressure compared to adults who did not eat salmon.

Other Ways Salmon Supports Heart Health

Supporting blood pressure isn’t the only heart health benefit of eating salmon regularly. Dr. Randy Gould, DO, a cardiologist with Manhattan Cardiologist and a contributor to LabFinder, says that it can help lower cholesterol, too. Once again, it’s due to those omega-3 fatty acids. “Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial in reducing triglyceride levels and slowing plaque buildup in arteries,” he says.

Remember that study with the adults who ate salmon every day for four weeks? In addition to an average 4% drop in blood pressure, they experienced an average 15% decrease in LDL cholesterol and a 7% increase in HDL “good” cholesterol.

All four experts say that the omega-3s in salmon also help decrease inflammation, which is noteworthy since inflammation is a primary contributor of cardiovascular disease. It’s because of all these ways that salmon supports heart health that the American Heart Association recommends eating two 3.5-ounce servings of fish high in omega-3s (like salmon) a week. (Just avoid frying it or you’ll take away from the nutritional benefits.)

“Salmon can help replace saturated fat-rich meats and processed meats, which [will] reduce heart disease risk,” Sharp explains. She also points out that salmon is a major part of the Mediterranean and DASH style diet patterns, which are consistently associated with better cardiovascular outcomes.

“Salmon is what I like to call a ‘dual citizen’ because it’s a great source of satiating protein and healthy fats. This means salmon is a super star for helping to support a healthy weight, balance blood sugars, support hormonal changes in perimenopause and much more,” Sharp adds. 

Knowing all the ways salmon can support cardiovascular health, you may be wondering if it’s safe to eat every day. Even though salmon is a nutritious food, it isn’t recommended to eat it every single day. Doing so can increase the risk of mercury exposure and nutrient imbalances. Remember, there are lots of great protein-rich foods that support blood pressure, including beans, skinless chicken and ground turkey.

If you do eat salmon regularly, rest assured knowing that you are doing something that’s directly supporting your heart. And if you don’t eat salmon regularly, consider this your sign to start integrating it into your diet more.

The Hollywood community is mourning the loss of a generational icon, but the grief has quickly turned into a heated debate. James Van Der Beek, the beloved star of Dawson's Creek and Varsity Blues, died on February 11 following a two-year battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer. He was 48 years old.

While the outpouring of support for his wife, Kimberly, and their six children has been immense, a GoFundMe campaign launched shortly after his death has sparked a firestorm of controversy. The fundraiser, which hit the $1 million mark within hours, has fans asking tough questions about celebrity wealth, medical debt, and the ethics of crowdfunding.

The Million-Dollar Question: Why Did a Celebrity Family Need a GoFundMe?

The campaign description paints a dire picture of the family's finances. Organizers claim that the “costs of James’s medical care and the extended fight against cancer have left the family out of funds.” They further noted that the family is "working hard to stay in their home" and trying to "maintain some stability" for childrenOlivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn, and Jeremiah. However, the rapid escalation of the fundraising goal—from an initial $350,000 to $500,000, and as of this writing to $1.5 million — left some onlookers skeptical.

Social Media Reacts: 'Sell the Mansion First'

On platforms like Reddit, the backlash was swift. Many users pointed to the family's public lifestyle and real estate assets as proof that the "out of funds" claim might be a matter of perspective rather than absolute poverty.

• Asset Accountability: One commenter noted, “Sell the mansion first... they own a house in LA that they rent out for $144k a year.” Another added, “I’ve been to their ranch in Texas for a wedding. It’s a multi-million dollar ranch on 36 acres outside of Austin. This is absolutely sickening.”
• The 'Cringe' Factor: The timing of the launch — coming on the very day of James's death — rubbed many the wrong way. “Asking for money to keep your kids in your $2 million, 36 acre compound is certainly… a choice,” one user wrote. “Especially ON the day that he died.”

Speaking with NBC News, Watkins revealed that he had been planning the proposal for a year, and as it turns out, he knows his wife-to-be extremely well. 

"I mean, that was my hope!" Johnson said of getting engaged at the Winter Olympics. "But it's definitely a lot more crazy with everything just happening all at once, and the reality of it is so different than the way you imagined, and so much better."

French ice dancers Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron have officially taken home gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics, yet their prevalent controversies continue to mire their unexpected victory.

Mor recently, the duo, who began partnering together in March 2025, won first-place with a score of 225.82 at Wednesday's free dance performance. Edging out the hands-on favorites Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the U.S., Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron managed to snag gold by a mere 1.42 lead over their American competitors.

While the pair enjoyed a tremendously emotional celebration on the ice, the duo's victory has earned a sharp response from international viewers, largely owing to their highly publicized separate controversies.

According to People magazine, the controversy surrounding Fournier Beaudry largely revolves around her boyfriend and ex-ice dancing partner, Nikolaj Sørensen. After accusations against Nikolaj Sørensen for a 2012 sexual assault against a former skater and coach emerged, Sørensen was suspended from the sport in 2024.

While his six-year suspension was later overturned, Fournier Beaudry claimed in Netflix's docuseries Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing that the incident all but destroyed her boyfriend's ice skating career.

In the case of her current partner, Cizeron himself has been accused of being "controlling, demanding and critical" by his former partner Gabriella Papadakis. Papadakis' comments come ahead of the release of her memoir, So as Not to Disappear, who also alleged that was "terrified" at the prospect of being left alone with Cizeron, with whom she won the gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

In response, Cizeron called his former partner's comments part of a "smear campaign" to damage his public image, alleging that Papadakis' book continues fabrication and falsehoods surrounding their relationship.

"I want to express my incomprehension and disagreement with the labels attributed to me," Cizeron said. "The book contains false information, including statements I never made, which I consider serious."

On Thursday, Feb. 12, a white tent was set up on Nancy Guthrie's property, covering her front door. The 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie and her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

It is unclear why the tent is being set up. Parade reached out to former NYPD Sergeant Joe Giacalone.

"I think they were trying to do height and weight measurements based on the video and that archway we know how tall the archway is and they can estimate his height," Giacalone tells me.

"They made a fatal mistake in this case by not setting up the house as a crime scene establishing a headquarters vehicle and running the operations directly from there so many things have gone wrong because of it, pizza deliveries, package, deliveries, media, and Youtubers walking all over the crime scene it’s an absolute abomination," he added.

Authorities believe that Nancy was abducted from her home in Arizona in the middle of the night. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has been working alongside the FBI in the ongoing investigation, though Nancy's whereabouts are still unknown, now 12 days from when she was first reported missing.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the. FBI released images and videos of a subject they say was at Nancy's home on the night of her disappearance. The person in the photo appears to be a male who was carrying a backpack and had a flashlight in his mouth. The subject had on a pair of black gloves, a long-sleeved, full zip jacket, long pants, and some sort of sneakers.

Later that same evening, police detained a man named Carlos Palazuelos in Rio Rico. The man was questioned for about two hours before he was released.

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the FBI released a statement on its socials in regard to the ongoing investigation.

“This morning, numerous FBI agents are conducting an extensive search along multiple roadways in the Catalina Foothills area related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation,” the statement read. "We are asking the media and motorists to follow all traffic laws and to remain especially cautious when passing law enforcement personnel near the roadways.
We appreciate the assistance and support we have received from the Tucson community. The FBI continues to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie. You can help by submitting tips to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.”

Millennials and newer Hilary Duff fans were surprised by her return to music after 11 years. February 20 is the release date for the album. Duff, 38, released music videos for "Mature" and "Roommates." The pop songs are fun and have lyrics about a former lover and drifting apart. Her voice is familiar, but her lyrics match the reality of more mature relationships than her past work. People will get to see Hilary Duff perform songs from her new album, Luck … or Something, this year, and we finally know which cities are on her tour.

Music lovers can currently buy pre-sale tickets on Ticketmaster. This opportunity will close February 26 at 6 p.m. ET. She'll leave for Europe after the states, hit Australia, Canada, then Mexico City. The world tour is expected to end in February 2027, according to Variety.

Heavy metal icon Doro Pesch has shared a major update for her American fans as she prepares for her latest U.S. appearances. 

The legendary German rocker announced on X that she will host an exclusive VIP event on March 21 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey, promising a rare and personal night with fans.

“Dear American fans & friends: I'm hosting an exclusive VIP event at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey on March 21st! Everyone attending is a VIP!” Doro wrote in her post.

The event comes during a busy stretch of U.S. shows, including her scheduled appearance at the Hell’s Heroes festival in Texas on March 19. But the New Jersey stop stands out.

Unlike a typical concert, this gathering is designed as an intimate celebration of Warlock’s 1986 album True As Steel, which marked Doro’s first American record release.

The performance will begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Organizers confirmed tickets are limited.

The March 21 event honors a turning point in Doro’s career. True As Steel introduced her to U.S. audiences during the height of the 1980s heavy metal boom. That first American promotional tour began in New York and helped build the foundation for what would become one of metal’s most celebrated careers.

“True As Steel is very special to me because it was my first American record and the first time I came to the United States, starting in New York,” Doro said, according to Brave Words. “I fell in love with America immediately, the people, the energy the metal fans.”

That experience directly inspired Warlock’s follow-up album, Triumph And Agony (1987), which featured the anthem “All We Are.” The song became a global hit and remains one of heavy metal’s most recognizable sing-alongs.

“I can’t wait to celebrate this music in such a personal way and spend time with the fans in New Jersey,” she added. “This will be a night from the heart.”

Fans attending Dingbatz can expect a full-band acoustic performance featuring rare versions of classic Warlock tracks, fan favorites from the late ’80s, and newer material.

Every ticket holder will be treated as a VIP. The special package includes a VIP laminate credential, a signed commemorative poster, a signed photo and an exclusive jacket patch. Limited-edition merchandise will also be sold only at the event.

After the show, Doro will personally meet attendees for a Q&A session, photos and additional autographs. With over 10 million albums sold and more than 3,500 concerts across 60 countries, the singer widely known as the “Queen of Heavy Metal” remains one of the genre’s most enduring figures. She first rose to fame with Warlock in the mid-1980s, becoming one of the first women to break into the global heavy metal scene.

In recent months, Doro has enjoyed renewed momentum. She released Warriors of the Sea in October 2025 through her own label, Rare Diamonds Productions, and a documentary, Doro Pesch – The Queen of Metal, screened in early 2026. 

Now, as she returns to the United States once again, that fan-first mindset is front and center. Tickets are currently available through Dingbatz’s official website, but with limited capacity and exclusive access promised, fans are encouraged to act quickly.

Derek and Corbett's Quiet Life

Living in Santa Barbara with Corbett, Derek prefers a quieter pace of life.

“...Right now, if I’m home, I wake up, make coffee, feed the horses, feed the dogs, feed myself, go to my computer, work in the garden, swim in the pool for exercise and then feed horses, feed dogs, feed ourselves,” she toldVariety back in 2020. “John and I watch Jeopardy while we eat and then we watch movies all night.”

No matter how they spend their time, it's safe to say that Derek is so in love with Corbett, 20 years on.

“It's that twinkle in his eye. His humor. He has a lot of joy in him and I feed off of it,” she told Entertainment Tonight.  “The simplest things can make him so happy, so he makes my day brighter because of that, too. And he's got a wicked sense of humor.”

Born in 1937, Merle Haggard—nicknamed "The Hag"—was a man made for country music.

Growing up in California during the Great Depression had Haggard, who passed in 2016 at the age of 79, living in a boxcar-turned-house with himself and his family.

Throughout his youth, Haggard began to get himself into trouble with the law. Around the same time, however, his late older brother gave him a guitar. While his criminal record grew, so did his love of and talent for music.

After a stint in the San Quentin prison, Haggard began topping the charts.

His illustrious career featured nearly 70 studio albums, two Grammy wins (among 13 nominations), and many collaborations with some of country music's most wanted, including Willie Nelson and George Jones.

In 2010, Haggard spoke on the phone with music blogger Donald Gibson, of Write on Music.

The interview, previously unshared with the public, reveals Haggard was sitting on unreleased work before his death: poetry.

"I’ve written a lot of poetry. I’ve written some really good poetry, I think," said Haggard.

"Probably come to the surface when I’m gone. I had a little old book that I stole on the road, don’t know what happened to it."

He continued: "It’ll come out someday. They’ll have some magic way of fixing it all."

While the lost poetry has still not found its way to the public, here's to hoping for one day.

When it came to writing, Haggard said: "I write from all perspectives, from all urges that you might have, but I usually eliminate things that I regard as out of the realm of usability.

"You know what I mean? There are some things that are too sad, some things too personal, some things overbearing, that with good sense after evaluating you just discard."

He added: "When you’re in love it’s a fight to stay afloat. It’s something you’ve got to work on every day. People are so different and people change. Life’s a b---h and then you die, really."

On April 6, 2016, Haggard tragically passed away from a battle with pneumonia. He was also born on April 6.

European chocolate is known to be some of the best in the world, and Aldi takes full advantage! Their chocolate bars are mainly produced in Germany, but some are made in Belgium or Austria. At any other store, chocolate from any of these places might carry a high price tag, but because this is a store-brand chocolate, Aldi can keep the price low.

Another reason Aldi chocolate bars are a fan favorite is the variety. They have a little something for everyone, no matter if you are a milk or dark chocolate fan, want extra flavor, prefer some salty mix-ins, etc. Oh, and they have seasonal choices too. I was super excited when I spotted this one. Not so much for me, but for my husband. He is down for anything spicy, and unlike me, enjoys dark chocolate the most. Unfortunately, this didn't have much heat at all—not even for a wimp like me.

However, the chocolate did have a nice flavor, and I'm guessing it was enhanced by the addition of chili, but we were looking for a little more wow factor from this bar.

I'm a huge mint lover—and not just at Christmas. Seeing a theme here? Yes, another dark chocolate variety is at the bottom of the list. I can't help it, I'm just a milk chocolate kind of girl. This one was another one I knew my hubby, who is a huge raspberry fan, would be excited to try.

This bar is filled with tiny pieces of raspberry, so much so, I didn't even notice the almonds, but rest assured, they're there too. It's just overflowing with raspberry bits and flavor!

The extra crunch and hint of sweetness from the cornflakes really played well with the salty peanuts and made for a delicious treat.

We have finally reached the #1 spot, and it truly wasn't an easy decision. What put the milk chocolate and almond bar at the head of the class? I have two reasons.

First, it's made with hazelnut spread, which gives it an extra smoothness and creaminess. And second, the flavor reminded me of another chocolate bar I have been obsessed with for years...Toblerone! Now I can have that same indulgence at half of the price!
