'70s Rock Band Announces Update on World Premiere Ahead of 2026 Tour

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 9:54pm

Heavy metal pioneers Judas Priest are giving fans an exciting update ahead of their 2026 tour: tickets are now on sale for the world premiere of their official documentary, The Ballad of Judas Priest.

The film will debut on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Uber Eats Music Hall as part of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). Directed by Sam Dunn and Tom Morello, the documentary chronicles the band'’'s five-decade journey from their working-class beginnings in England's industrial "Black Country" to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Dunn shared his excitement about the milestone in a statement back in January, writing, “Super proud to announce that our Judas Priest doc, The Ballad Of Judas Priest, will premiere at Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival this February. Beyond excited for all our German metalheads to get the first look.”

According to the official description, the film dives deep into vocalist Rob Halford's long struggle as a closeted gay man in heavy metal and explores the band's controversial 1980s trial during the Satanic panic. Featuring exclusive band interviews, appearances by Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Run-DMC and Billy Corgan, as well as rare archival material, the documentary examines how Judas Priest not only helped define the sound and look of heavy metal but also contributed to making the genre more inclusive.

The band addressed the documentary in a statement, saying, "We have lived and breathed metal for over five decades, and finally in this documentary we are summoning our congregation to officially witness our lives uncensored, in a never-before-seen way…the cassock comes off, revealing Priest in all its metal glory!"

Co-directors Morello and Dunn emphasized the broader scope of the story. "While some may know Judas Priest for their huge hits that have shaped the heavy metal genre, there is so much more to their story,” they said. “Tracing their incredible 50-year journey, this film will capture how Judas Priest both defined the sound and look of metal, but also made it a more inclusive place along the way. We are grateful to the band for allowing us such intimate, unfiltered access to their lives and look forward to bringing this film to the metal masses around the world."

Dunn, co-founder of Banger Films, is known for music documentaries including the Grammy-nominated Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage and the Emmy-winning Hip-Hop Evolution. Morello, guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, brings his own deep ties to rock history and activism to the project.

With tickets now available and anticipation building, The Ballad of Judas Priest promises to be a defining cinematic moment for one of heavy metal’s most enduring bands, just as they gear up to bring their legacy back to the stage in 2026.

'90s Rock Star's Teenager Releases Her Debut Music Video, 'Thum'

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 9:26pm

It's interesting to see the next generation of musicians and which ones are children of famous artists. Violet Grohl is the 19-year-old daughter of Dave Grohl. He began as the drummer of Nirvana and became the founder of The Foo Fighters. The daughter's songs were previously available only through Bandcamp, but now people can enjoy the music video for "Thum" on YouTube.

The video takes place in a small bedroom full of clothes, Polaroid pictures on the wall, and candles. Grohl looks entranced by a small television with a static screen. The television shows Grohl in a vintage lace wedding gown and veil. The lyrics depict a picture of anxiety and nail-biting. Nikki Milan Houston directed and edited the music video.

Grohl is signed to Republic Records/Island EMI, and her debut album will be released through her own Auroura Records imprint. "From the moment we met Violet, it was clear that she represents the next generation of artists," Kristina Grossmann, Senior Vice President of A&R at Republic said, according to Louder Sound. "The music is immediate, intentional and her voice holds a rare duality." She described her as "unapologetically cool and is a fearless female voice."

Grohl previously teamed up with Gary Numan's daughter Persia for a David Lynch tribute. The track is named "What's Heaven Without You." It's unknown who else she will collaborate with on the album. She already worked with her father through a feature on Foo Fighters song "Show Me How." Violet performed it on stage with the band a couple times.

The father has four children: Violet, Harper,Ophelia, and the fourth child's name is unknown. Harper, 15, is also an artist and drew the cover of the Foo Fighters single, "Today’s Song." She sang with her father and sister on stage.

Mumford & Sons Singer Covers Taylor Swift Song He Says Is One of His All-Time Favorites

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 9:01pm

Marcus Mumford is apparently still in his evermore era.

The Mumford & Sons singer recently performed a cover of a popular Taylor Swift track, one that he says is one of his all-time favorite songs.

In a new clip from BBC Radio 2's Piano Room that dropped on Tuesday, Feb. 10, Mumford and his band performed Swift's "Cowboy Like Me" with an orchestra accompaniment, leaving fans floored by the new rendition.

"He has excellent taste. 10/10," one user wrote on X after watching the performance, while more fans applauded how much Mumford seems to appreciate Swift's song.

"No one loves cowboy like me as much as marcus mumford loves cowboy like me," one commenter wrote on YouTube.

"He’s obsessed with this song. I mean, same," someone else on X quipped.

Before the performance, which one fan called a "heavenly" cover, Mumford introduced Swift's "Cowboy Like Me," as one of his "favorite songs ever," pointing out that he actually sings the backing vocals on the track.

Swift, 36, wrote the folk ballad with Aaron Dessner for her ninth studio album, evermore, which came out in 2020. In addition to background vocals by Mumford, the song also features Desner, as well as Justin Vernon on various instruments.

Mumford even performed the song live with Swift during the Eras Tour, surprising the crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a live acoustic duet in March 2023.

1979 Classic Ranked 'Best Album Cover of All Time'

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 9:00pm

While it's of course the music on an album that decides whether or not that particular collection of songs will ever reach legendary status, there's another element that contributes to whether or not an album is destined to be iconic: The cover.

An unforgettable album cover is truly a work of art, and in many cases becomes part of a band or artist's identity for the rest of their career. (Of course, less-than-stellar album covers can also become part of a band's legacy in a different way...it's been 60 years and people still can't get over the hilariously bizarre cover of the Beatles' Yesterday and Today album, which featured the Fab Four wearing butcher smocks while holding decapitated baby dolls and pieces of raw meat, though it obviously didn't hurt their career.)

When it comes to choosing the best album cover of all time, however, that's a tall order. Still, Rolling Stone managed to narrow the playing field down with their "100 Best Album Covers of All Time" list in 2024. It's an impressive mix of musical genres and art styles, from rock to rap to country to reggae and beyond, with covers ranging from abstract images to artist portraits.

We're not going to reveal all 100 picks here, but some notable examples include the eerie frozen landscape of Radiohead's Kid A (2000) at #75, the mischievous cigarette-smoking angel representing Van Halen's 1984, released that same year, at #68, and the fabulously demented painting of David Bowie as a half-man, half-dog on Diamond Dogs (1974) at #75.

View this post on Instagram

If you were to skip ahead to the top 20, you'd find some fairly obvious choices: Carole King and her cat on Tapestry (1971) at #17, The Beatles' chaotic and colorful Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) at #14, The Velvet Underground's The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967), featuring Andy Warhol's instantly recognizable banana, at #11.

Nirvana's Nevermind kicks off the top 10 (of course), with everybody's favorite baby in a swimming pool, while Patti Smith's stunning black-and-white portrait on Horses (1975), shot by Robert Mapplethorpe, took the #6 slot. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon cover from 1973 (inspiration for countless laser light shows) was right up there at #3, while the #2 position was occupied by maybe the most famous record album cover in history, the Beatles' Abbey Road (1969).

So which album cover was ranked the best of all time? Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures (1979).

View this post on Instagram

As Rolling Stone put it, "There’s an uncanniness to the jagged, unpredictable angles on the cover of Joy Division’s debut album, Unknown Pleasures. Is it a mountain range? A graphical representation of brain waves? Why does it look so bleak? The mystery draws you in, and when you put the record on, with its bass-heavy atmospherics and frontman Ian Curtis’ overwhelming angst, the image makes a little more sense."

As the article went on to explain, guitarist Bernard Sumner "found the artwork’s peaks and valleys while leafing through The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy. The image is a graphical representation of a pulsar, officially named CP1919. Designer Peter Saville reversed the color scheme to make it white on black. He left off the band’s name and the album title, making it all the more curious and able to transcend the music into the mainstream."

Almost 50 years later, the cover is clearly still making an impact.

Dax Shepard Recalls Moments Before Near-Death Car Accident: 'It Was Shockingly Comforting'

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 8:56pm

Back when Dax Shepard was just a teenager, he had a terrifying accident that he thought would be the end of his life.

The actor and podcast host sat down with Kaley Cuoco for an episode of "Armchair Expert" published on Monday (Feb. 9) where he recalled the moments leading up to the near-death experience.

"I have had the moment, which is among the most unique feelings I’ve ever had in my life, where I went, ‘Oh, I’m about to die. I’m like seconds away from dying,'" Shepard shared.

During the episode, Shepard explained that he and a friend, then just seniors in high school, were driving home late at night from a trip to Ohio. As Shepard had to work the next day, he decided he would try to sleep in the backseat as his friend took over driving.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

"He had the cruise control on 85, and I’m like back there, I’m listening, and the road was really rhythmic. Just at that moment, I was like, ‘Oh, that rhythm’s nice. I’m gonna fall asleep.’ And then I just heard gravel hitting the side of the car," Shepard recalled.

When he looked up, he saw that his friend was "completely slumped over" and the car was careening towards the pine trees that lined the interstate.

"I started to go...to grab the wheel and there was a moment I just knew it was too far gone. Like we had gone completely sideways. I laid back down and then...we just launched in the air and we started rolling right down the highway,” Shepard said.

He continued, “I’m like, ‘We’re gonna hit a tree and that’s gonna be that.’ And I definitely had this moment where I was like, ‘Oh, wow, I’m gonna die in a second.’ And the feeling was shockingly comforting. Like, that I remember.”

Despite knowing that he could be moments away from death, Shepard said he was “very calm” and “kinda weirdly at total peace with it." Thankfully, as the car continued to roll, it landed upside down and completely avoided the trees. Shepard and his friend were able to crawl out of the car and walk away.

While they both survived, Shepard admits he questioned whether he was truly alive for the next few days.

"The trippiest part for me was post that event for about three days. Because I already went, 'Oh, I'm dead.' And I accepted it, for the next three days, I'd just be places and I felt very peculiar like, 'Am I dead? Like I know I died. Am I dead?' Like that was the weirdest part of the whole thing," Shepard concluded.

You can hear all that Dax Shepard had to say below.

Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mom: Unabomber FBI Profiler Says Case May Appear ‘Dead in the Water’

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 8:41pm

Twelve days into the investigation into the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy Guthrie authorities have yet to identify a suspect or even a person of interest, but a former FBI profiler says that doesn’t mean the case has stalled.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her Tucson-area home on Jan. 31. While investigators recently released surveillance footage showing a masked, apparently armed individual at her doorstep the night she disappeared, what initially seemed like a promising development this week quickly fizzled when a man detained for questioning was released hours later.

RELATED: Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mom Case Takes a New Turn as Authorities Speak Out

From the outside, the lack of arrests and the slowing cadence of press conferences may make the case appear, as some observers have put it, “dead in the water.”

But Mary Ellen O’Toole, a former FBI profiler who worked on the years-long hunt for Ted Kaczynski—known as the “Unabomber”—says appearances can be deceiving.

“It’s not uncommon for cases to seem dead in the water at the outset and still eventually get solved,” O’Toole explained to PBS News, noting that major cases often hinge on a single unexpected tip.

Investigators are now leaning heavily on public assistance. The FBI has released porch surveillance images of a masked person wearing a ski mask and a backpack, with what appeared to be a holstered handgun. Officials hope someone recognizes a detail — clothing, posture, behavior — that could generate a breakthrough.

Connor Hagan, an FBI spokesperson, previously emphasized that possibility in a statement: “Someone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home.”

Authorities have received nearly 18,000 calls since Nancy Guthrie was reported missing, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators have also confirmed that the blood found at the residence matched Nancy, and the home continues to be treated as an active crime scene. DNA collection and forensic testing remain ongoing, a process that can take time but has cracked major cases in the past — including the 2022 University of Idaho murders, which were ultimately solved through trace DNA and genealogical analysis.

Experts say the public release of surveillance images is a calculated move. In past high-profile investigations — including the eventual arrest of Kaczynski — recognition by someone close to the suspect proved pivotal.

In the meantime, Savannah Guthrie has continued to publicly ask for prayers and support as the investigation unfolds. The Today host has been in Arizona with her family as authorities pursue leads.

While the case may look quiet from the outside, experts caution that some of the most consequential developments in investigations happen behind the scenes — and often break without warning.

Anyone with information related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

James Van Der Beek Revealed His Favorite ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Scene — and It Involved Katie Holmes

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 8:33pm

James Van Der Beekdied at the age of 48 on February 11 following a battle with colorectal cancer, as reported by TMZ.

Van Der Beek cultivated a strong fanbase after starring as Dawson Leery on the WB teen drama, Dawson's Creek. Van Der Beek discussed shooting the series for six seasons until 2003 during a panel at the Steel City Con in April 2025. While on stage with his former Dawson's Creek co-star, Kerr Smith, Van Der Beek shared that his favorite scene from the entire show's run was an early moment between Dawson and Joey Potter, played by Katie Holmes.

"Honestly, my favorite scene was probably one of the first ones we shot. It was Katie and me in the bedroom," said Van Der Beek during the panel.

He said he remembered instantly feeling the chemistry between Dawson and Joey when reading the scene with Holmes. As fans are aware, Dawson and Joey were close friends and had a relatively short-lived romantic relationship on the series.

"To read it and have it on its feet with Katie, there was just like a chemistry that I don't know, man. Like the Dawson-Joey relationship just existed on its own regardless of like wherever Katie and I were or like whatever is happening in our lives," explained the actor to the audience. "There was this thing that just existed between these two characters, that just existed on another plane. And it was one of the first times, you know, to experience that and be like, 'Oh, wow. This friendship works.' That was just a real like feeling of elation."

James Van Der Beek Opened up About the Audition Process for 'Dawson's Creek'

Van Der Beek opened up about auditioning to play Dawson in a 2013 interview on Larry King Now.

He shared that he was 20 years old when he tried out for the character, who was just 15 in the show's first season. Van Der Beek said that he decided to "pitch [his] voice up" to appear younger during his audition for Dawson's Creek. The actor said he made the right choice and was flown out to Los Angeles to screen test for the role.

According to Van Der Beek, Sony wasn't keen on him being the lead for the show. However, the creator of Dawson's Creek, Kevin Williamson, fought for him to play Dawson.

"Kevin Williamson, who created the show, had to put his foot down and said, 'Listen, I created this guy. I know this guy. This kid is this guy,'" said Van Der Beek in the 2013 interview.

Olympic Skier Mikaela Shiffrin Is Rocking Half an Eyebrow — Here's Why

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 8:04pm

Mikaela Shiffrin is used to answering questions about her speed on the slopes—not so much her eyebrows. But during the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, fans couldn’t help but notice something slightly off: the decorated skier appeared to be missing half of one.

On Monday, February 9, the 30-year-old Olympian took to Instagram to clear things up, admitting she made a small grooming decision that snowballed at the worst possible time.

“If you see me in the next few weeks with half an eyebrow, no you didn’t,” Shiffrin joked in the video.

View this post on Instagram

She explained that years ago, she split her brow open during balance training and required 30 stitches. “I didn’t really know that you could get like thirty stitches in your brow bone, but you can,” she said. The scar has since caused her eyebrow hair to grow unevenly—“a little bit funky like a Truffula Tree,” she explained, referencing the Dr. Seuss film The Lorax.

In an effort to lean into the look, and be like the “cool people” who rock eyebrow scars, Shiffrin attempted to shave a subtle slash along the scar. “How bad could it be? Because I have the scar already, there’s a map on my face. I will follow the map,” she said. But once the tweezers came out, things escalated quickly.

“It’s the Olympics... there's like cameras around and there's people around... I think it was a fully reasonable thing to do at the time,” she quipped sarcastically. The real issue? “The thing is that with the makeup, it comes off when I sweat,” she explained. “I sweat predominantly from my eyebrows and upper lip with goggles,” meaning there’s a “high likelihood that I’m going to cross the finish line and I’ll just have half an eyebrow.”

And speaking of things being split in two, Shiffrin isn’t the only Team USA athlete struggling. Figure skater Alysa Liu revealed her gold medal detached from its ribbon after she was “just jumping up and down,” while skier Breezy Johnson warned, “Do not jump in them,” after her medal similarly split into two pieces.

Andrea Francisi, Chief Games Operations Officer for Milano Cortina 2026, revealed to PEOPLE that officials are investigating. “We’re going to pay particular attention to the medals,” he said, noting that the podium moment is “probably one of the most important moments for the athletes.”

Owl Unmasked on ‘The Masked Singer’ After Sing-Off Battle

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 8:00pm

This week on The Masked Singer, Twilight night ended in a dramatic showdown.

After audience voting, the two lowest vote-getters were Stingray and Owl, forcing them into a high-stakes sing-off. The pair battled it out with a duet of “Love Is a Battlefield” by Pat Benatar, delivering one final performance before the judges and studio audience made their decision.

Only one would continue on.

Who Got Unmasked on ‘The Masked Singer’ Tonight?

After the sing-off, Owl was eliminated and forced to remove the mask. Before the reveal, the panel locked in their final guesses.

Who Did the Panel Think Owl Was?

Robin Thicke returned to an earlier theory, guessing Dennis Quaid, citing Owl’s rugged voice and classic leading-man presence.

Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg stuck with her theory that Owl was Ted Danson, pointing to the seasoned delivery and long-running career clues.

Ken Jeong surprised everyone by abandoning his previous Matthew McConaughey guess and siding with Jenny, saying he believed it was Ted Danson.

Rita Ora pivoted back to her original thought, guessing Kurt Russell, referencing the Elvis clue and his iconic film career.

Who Is Owl on ‘The Masked Singer’?

None of the panelists got it right. Owl was revealed to be Billy Ray Cyrus.

The former country star famously broke out in 1992 with his smash hit “Achy Breaky Heart,” aligning with the recurring 1992 clue. Cyrus is also known as the father of pop superstar Miley Cyrus and is currently dating British model and actress Elizabeth Hurley.

His gravelly tone and stage confidence had the panel circling major Hollywood names — but in the end, it was a country icon hiding beneath the feathers.

‘Dawson’s Creek’ Mom Mary-Margaret Humes Shares Emotional Tribute to James Van Der Beek After His Death

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 7:30pm

As the world reacts to the heartbreaking news of James Van Der Beek’s death, his on-screen mom is sharing an emotional tribute.

Mary-Margaret Humes, who played Gail Leery — Dawson’s mom — on the beloved WB show Dawson’s Creek, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message following the news of his passing. Van Der Beek starred as Dawson Leery on the series was 48 at the time of his death. James Van Der Beek was 48 at the time of his death. His passing was confirmed on Wednesday by his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, who shared that the actor died earlier that morning following a battle with colorectal cancer.

Dawson's Creek premiered in 1998 and ran for six seasons before concluding in 2003. The coming-of-age show became a defining teen drama of its era and remains a nostalgic fan favorite decades later. The show was an anchor for Van Der Beek's budding acting career, and is credited with launching the careers of other young actors like Katie Holmes,Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams, making them household names.

In her post, Humes shared two photos — one recent image of the pair and a second throwback from their time on Dawson’s Creek, where they portrayed an emotional mother-son dynamic.

View this post on Instagram

“Rarely am I at a loss for words … today would be the exception,” she began. “James, my gracious warrior, you fought a hard battle against all odds with such quiet strength and dignity. I will always love and admire you for that.” She went on to reflect on their recent conversations. “Our last conversations … merely a few days ago … are forever sitting softly in my heart for safe keeping,” Humes wrote.

The actress continued by asking for privacy on behalf of Van Der Beek’s family. “To our extended Dawson’s Creek family of friends … please be respectful of our silences at the moment as Beautiful Kimberly and family have asked for peaceful privacy for now.”

Fans quickly filled the comments with messages of support, sharing their own memories of watching the beloved series and expressing condolences.

One fan's powerful response echoed the way watching Dawson and the gang navigate their teen years shaped my own adolescence: "@thereal_marymargarethumes all the Dawson's Creek fans… Especially those of us who grew up watching this cast because we were the exact same age… Feel like we lost a friend today. We did. Absolutely devastated. So very sorry for your loss. You made the perfect “mother and son.” 💔"

Van Der Beek’s portrayal of aspiring filmmaker Dawson Leery helped define an era of teen television, and for many viewers, his bond with Humes’ character remains one of the show’s most heartfelt relationships. Another commented on the bond Humes and Van Der Beek shared, by writing, "My sincere condolences, you were a mother to him and all of them in real life somehow. Thanks for always holding his hands. I send you hugs from Mexico! RIP JVDB. 😣"

As tributes continue to pour in from across the entertainment world, Humes’ words serve as a deeply personal reminder of the lasting connection forged both on and off screen.

Google Unveils Interactive Easter Egg for Hit TV Series ‘Heated Rivalry’

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 7:24pm

Sorry, we’re still at the cottage. Heated Rivalry premiered on HBO Max in the U.S. on November 28, 2025, and ever since, it’s pretty much the only thing anyone can talk about.

The six-episode romantic drama, which originally aired on Canada’s Crave, is based on Rachel Reid’s 2019 novel of the same name, part of her Game Changers series.

Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams as Canadian hockey pro Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Russian hockey pro Ilya Rozanov

The pair is introduced as teenage rival hockey players who eventually go on to fall in love after a roughly seven-year situationship.

Given the show’s staggering popularity — including an 8.9/10 rating on IMDb — Google decided to join in on the steamy fun.

If you go to the Google homepage and search “Heated Rivalry," you’ll be greeted with a cheeky text message exchange between Lily and Jane (Ilya and Shane).

To keep their relationship secret, Ilya, who identifies as bisexual, and Shane, who identifies as gay, saved each other’s contacts under women’s names in their phones.

“Lily: Still obsessed with us?”

“Jane: I’m not obsessed with anything!”

“Lily: How many times have you looked us up?”

“Jane: I don’t know. Maybe twice?”

“Lily: *Winking Face Emoji”

“Jane: See you next season :)”

For those of you who watched the show, you know why “I don’t know. Maybe twice?” is especially comical.

As for season 2, showrunner Jacob Tierney, confirmed that the series is slated to return in spring 2027, with filming anticipated to begin in July or August of this year.

Though Tierney, 46, has remained fairly tight-lipped about the plot, fans can expect that it will mostly follow Reid’s book The Long Game.

For her part, Reid, 45, also confirmed a new novel titled Unrivaled, set to be released in September. It will mark the seventh text in her Game Changers series, and will continue Shane and Ilya's love story.

  • A beach house in Hawaii.
  • A fish tank with a basketball inside.
  • “After years of running around, the girl of my dreams came dancing into my life.”
  • A diamond engagement ring and champagne.
  • A witch hat (resembling the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter).

🎤 What the Panel Is Saying

Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg connected the basketball clue to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, guessing Jordan Fisher, noting his musical theatre background and polished vocals.

Ken Jeong tossed out Joey McIntyre, referencing his Broadway run in Wicked and marriage, though McCarthy Wahlberg quickly pushed back, saying, “He doesn’t sound like that at all!”

Rita Ora noticed the cat and witch hat imagery and briefly questioned whether there might be a connection to Cat Witch, but ultimately stuck with her written guess: Jason Derulo.

The panel clearly believes Stingray has musical theatre or pop credibility — but the Hawaii setting could signal something deeper about his roots.
