Paula Pickard, who appeared on early seasons of MTV's Jersey Shore, is soaking up every moment of her pregnancy before welcoming her little one.

On June 16, Pickard, 37, shared a series of photos from her baby shower on Instagram, including a sweet snapshot of herself cradling her growing baby bump. Alongside the post, she hinted that fans may not see many more pregnancy updates before her daughter makes her debut.

"Probably one of the last photo ops you'll see of me until baby Summer arrives," she wrote in the caption.

In another heartfelt post from the celebration, Pickard gave fans a closer look at the milestone and shared an update on her pregnancy.

"Yesterday we celebrated our growing family with almost all of our friends, family, coworker families (shout out to Beachcomber) and my favorite people to serve when I'm working," she wrote, referring to the iconic Jersey Shore bar where the coed baby shower took place.

She added that "Baby Summer is so loved already" and thanked everyone who attended what she described as a "super untraditional coed Sunday Funday bar baby shower."

Pickard also revealed she's now 32 weeks pregnant and expects baby Summer to arrive in about six to eight weeks.

"I feel ok, just normal pregnancy discomfort," she shared. "Nesting has taken over and now it's time to set up for her arrival and finish out this last month of work. Our family is looking forward to finally being complete and we can't wait to meet our Sunny baby girl."

Longtime Jersey Shore fans will remember Pickard from the MTV reality series, where she worked at the Shore Store and later became known for her on-again, off-again romance with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

Their relationship became a memorable storyline during the show's original run. After years of flirting, the pair officially dated during Season 6, though things ended dramatically when Sorrentino surprised Pickard by breaking up with her over dinner.

Despite the split, Pickard remained a fan favorite among many viewers, who appreciated her down-to-earth personality amid the show's larger-than-life cast.

Much has changed for both since their Jersey Shore days. Sorrentino, 43, went on to marry his college sweetheart, Lauren Sorrentino, and the couple now shares three children. Pickard, meanwhile, has largely stayed out of the reality TV spotlight, occasionally giving followers glimpses into major life milestones on social media.

Her latest update marks one of the biggest yet, as she's now counting down the days until baby Summer arrives.

HannahBrown is opening up about her experience with GLP-1s to treat polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome or PMOS.

The Bachelorette star spoke about her journey during a recent appearance on the SHE MDpodcast, hosted by OBGY Dr. Thaïs Aliabad, or “Dr. A,” and women's health advocate Mary Alice Haney.

"You were the first to tell me even what a GLP-1 was and how it could help with my insulin resistance," she said to the co-host, Dr. Aliabad.

Formerly known as PCOS, PMOS is a hormonal and metabolic disorder that alters how the body uses insulin. 

"You had discussed me going on a GLP-1. We talked about the weight gain that I was having," Brown said. "I was obviously really bloated. I was not having my period. You know, it would be every three months, maybe I would have one for two days and then that would be it."

GLP-1s are commonly used to help with Type 2 diabetes because of their effect on insulin. The medication works by lowering blood sugar by imitating the hormone that moves sugar into your cells. It stimulates the natural production of insulin. Common brand-name GLP-1s include Ozempic and Wegovy.

"You put me on one of those and I will say it changed my life," the reality star shared. "I have now, since taking that have had a period every 30 days. I have no bloating."

Brown is grateful for the medication’s help with her PCOS symptoms.

"I literally felt like a new human and not just because it was able to just stabilize me not continuing to just gain all this weight, but I could tell a difference by just how I felt being supported on that with all the other [PMOS] symptoms I had," she said. "I know some people who have a lot of bad things to say about GLP-1 but it changed my life."

"Uncontrollable risk factors for cancer are age, genetics, including personal history and family history, previous exposures to chemicals and radiation—what is done is done," says Dr. Adeel Khan, MD, an academic hemoncologist and epidemiologist in Dallas.

But you can change one of these factors moving forward: Chemical exposures, especially from everyday products, like the ones we use in the shower.

"Cancer development is a multi-step process and repeated exposure to harmful substances in our food, water and consumer products can cause progressive cellular damage," says Dr. James McCloskey, MD, the chief of the leukemia division at John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. "This knowledge empowers us to make informed lifestyle choices, such as avoiding tobacco and limiting alcohol, and to advocate for stronger regulations on harmful chemicals."

One of the best ways to advocate for change is with your wallet. When you understand the impact of combined chemical exposures, you can take proactive steps to switch to safer products, improving your long-term health and reducing your cancer risk in the process. For this reason, oncologists are begging people to stop doing this one thing in the shower. The good news? There are plenty of alternatives to this habit that pass the sniff test.

The One Thing Oncologists Are Begging People To Stop Doing in the Shower

Oncologists warn that using heavily fragranced body washes consistently might raise cancer risk. "Ironically, products we believe are cleansing and revitalizing ourselves may be harming us in the process," says Dr. Sudarsan Kollimuttathuillam, MD, a medical oncologist at City of Hope Seacliff. "However, it’s important to be mindful of the products we use, as they could, over time, increase cancer risk."

Dr. McCloskey points out that many of these body washes contain chemicals that can carry health risks, including cancer.

"Phthalates, often hidden in 'fragrance,' can mimic hormones, a process linked to an increased risk of breast cancer," Dr. McCloskey says. "Parabens, used as preservatives, also act like estrogen and pose similar concerns. Sulfates (SLS) create lather, but their manufacturing can produce a cancer-causing byproduct called 1,4-dioxane. Finally, some preservatives, like DMDM hydantoin, slowly release formaldehyde, a known carcinogen."

Is Fragrance Safe in Body Wash?

Oncologists note that research on heavily fragranced body washes is emerging. "It's important to be honest: We don't have proof that every fragranced body wash is harmful," Dr. Kollimuttathuillam says. "What researchers are trying to understand is whether repeated exposure over many years may contribute to health risks for some people."

Dr. Khan agrees, stating, "Simply put, for most people, occasional use is unlikely to be a major cancer or other health risk."

Still, he says it's reasonable to suggest reducing daily use of strongly fragranced products, especially if you have sensitive skin, asthma, migraines, are pregnant or are shopping for your kids.

Dr. Kollimuttathuillam emphasizes that the information on cancer risks associated with heavily scented body washes isn't cause for panic. "I'd look at this as an opportunity rather than an emergency," he advises. "Most cancer risks develop over a lifetime and involve many factors, not one body wash or one ingredient."

3 Alternatives to Heavily Fragranced Body Wash

You can still feel fresh and clean without a strongly scented body wash. In fact, switching might lower your exposure to ingredients that might contribute to cancer risk. Instead, oncologists recommend using one of these options in the shower:

1. Fragrance-free body wash. Dr. Kollimuttathuillam describes this one as the simplest swap for many people: "You still get the cleansing benefits without the added fragrance ingredients." Still, take a look at the ingredients list on the back of the label rather than relying on marketing copy that claims the product is "paraben-free." "A good rule of thumb is to look for simple, recognizable ingredients," he explains.
2. Bar soap. Simple and traditional, Dr. McCloskey notes that bar soaps usually have simpler, shorter ingredient lists than liquid body washes. "They often don't require the same level of preservatives—like parabens or formaldehyde-releasers—because they are solid and contain less water," he says. "This simplicity significantly reduces your 'chemical cocktail' exposure."
3. Pure liquid castile soap. Dr. McCloskey explains that this soap is made from saponified vegetable oil. "Castile soap...is completely biodegradable and natural," he says. "It contains no synthetic detergents, preservatives or foaming agents."

The Young and the Restless' head writer, Josh Griffith, is leaving The Young and the Restless. He had been working on the long-running daytime CBS show on and off for over 20 years.

On Friday, June 26, TV Insider confirmed that the Emmy-winning writer has decided to leave the soap opera. The cast and crew had been informed earlier that day, but it is not yet known when his exact departure will be. It has also not been announced who will take over the role from Griffith.

Griffith was also a co-executive of the soap opera, but according to Soap Opera Digest, he stood down from that role in May. Sally McDonald took over his producing duties, according to TV Insider.

He has been involved with the soap opera for two decades. He first joined The Young and the Restless in 2006 as a writer and lader co-executive producer. Although he exited in 2008, he returned for a year between 2012 and 2013, before moving to another soap, Days of Our Lives, in 2015.

You couldn't keep him away from Genoa City long, as he returned to The Young and the Restless in 2018 as supervising producer. The following year, he was promoted to head writer, and in 2023, he became an executive producer.

Over his stint on the show, he won four Daytime Emmy Awards. He also won for his work as a writer on Santa Barbara and One Life to Live.

In TV Insider’s preview for what Griffith had planned for the upcoming year as head writer of The Young and the Restless, he teased, “You’ve got to just keep that momentum going. It’s going to be a very exciting, suspenseful, and romantic winter and spring. It’s going to be jam-packed with intrigue, mystery, suspense, and love. We have some fun surprises up our sleeve for 2026.”

A spokesperson for The Young and the Restless did not immediately respond to People's request for comment on Saturday, June 27.

Cruz Beckham's latest music release has fans comparing the young musician's sound to that of a legendary '60s rock band.

On June 25, the singer dropped "Wear & Tear," the lead single and titular track of his upcoming debut EP, which is set to release on Aug 21. The six-track project was produced by industry masterminds Justin Raisen and Lewis Pesacov, who have also worked alongside chart-topping music makers such as Charli XCX. Tracked with Cruz's backing band The Breakers, the song comes ahead of a busy touring season, which will see Cruz Beckham and the Breakers hit a slew of cities on a headline U.S. tour before they take the stage at some of the world's biggest music festivals, including Lollapalooza and Reading & Leeds.

Fans have been comparing the new single to the likes of music icons The Beatles and Oasis, commenting that the track is like a transport back in time.

"Reminiscent of both The Beatles and Oasis..." one person commented under momVictoria Beckham's Instagram post, where she shared the official music video.

"Love the Beatles vibes," wrote a second.

A third compared the sound to the Madchester movement of the late '80s and early '90s, which saw Mancunian bands such as The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays adopt a fresh sound that merged indie rock with acid house and electronic dance beats.

Cruz Beckham and The Breakers broke onto the music scene in Oct. 2025 with the release of "Optics". The single peaked at No. 64 on the U.K. Official Physical Single Chart. Its follow-up, "For Your Love," reached No. 71 on the Official Singles Sales Chart.

Performing in the heat isn’t easy. And that’s why ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer Harry Styles had plenty to drink during his recent performance at Wembley Stadium. But when the former One Direction boy bander chugged a bottle of water, something went horribly wrong.

Fans watched in shock as Styles choked and collapsed onto the ground. After staying put on the stage for what seemed like an eternity to the crowd (in reality, it was reportedly only a few seconds), he was able to get up and make a hasty exit.

Videos of the incident quickly circulated on social media. The singer’s fans chimed in, expressing their concerns on an Instagram post of the clip with comments such as, “Must admit that on the livestream, I was afraid for a few seconds”, “We were so worried!”, and “Did anyone on stage try running to see if he was ok?”

In another post (of the video), one fan wrote, “When he fell to his knees, my heart stopped in shock. Harry is incredible, it surely takes immense strength and stamina to perform in these temperatures, and yet he always gives it his all.”

And yes, it does take immense strength and stamina to perform in London eight now. Europe is currently under high alert as a deadly heat wave sets new records. According to theBBC, on Thursday (the day before Harry’s concert at Wembley Stadium), temperatures soared to over 98 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the hottest day of the year so far. 

It looks like Harry is in for another hot night, with a second concert planned at the same venue on Saturday, June 27. An amber weather alert for extreme heat in eastern and southeastern England warns of potential adverse health effects and advises people in the area to drink plenty of fluids. 

Even though the high temperatures could pose a risk, Wembley Stadium recently announced that the concerts would go on as planned. But instead of the venue’s usual container policy, Wembley posted an updated notice informing visitors that they could bring metal or hard-plastic water bottles of 500ml or less into the concert. Additionally, water stations are available for free refills.

The stadium management also noted that, in light of the extreme heat, the venue’s bars would offer a 50% discount on bottled water at the Harry Styles concert. 

While Style’s sudden collapse sparked concern, the celeb is yet to make a public statement on the mid-concert mishap or his current health status.

What I like about Kohl's Zacoo Foldable Coffee Table is that it doesn't require you to commit to a permanent spot. Measuring about 31.5 by 19.7 inches, it's compact enough for apartments, dorms or temporary seating areas, and when you don't need it, it folds flat for easy storage (just like a card table).

It has a more minimalist, modern feel, but the solid wood construction makes it sturdier than you'd expect for a foldable table. It can just as easily hold coffee and books as it can double as a snack table or catchall when you're short on space.

The table comes in two different colorways—wood grain and white. For reasons that are honestly kind of inexplicable to me, each colorway has a different price, albeit only by a few dollars. I never understand why manufacturers and retailers do that, and I probably never will.

If your road trip plans somehow don't already include a Buc-ee's stop, that may soon be changing.

The beloved convenience store chain has announced plans to open 15 new locations over the next several years, per USA Today, expanding its footprint across the South and Midwest. Known for its enormous stores and endless snack selection, Buc-ee's currently operates 55 locations across 12 states. But by 2031, that number will be even bigger.

Which Buc-ee's stores are opening first?

The first wave of openings will begin later this summer, with three new stores already scheduled.

San Marcos, Texas, will welcome a new Buc-ee's on August 12, followed by Benton, Arkansas, on August 17. Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is set to open its location on November 16.

Buc-ee's has also confirmed six additional locations arriving in 2027:

• Ruston, Louisiana
• Kansas City, Kansas
• Gallaway, Tennessee
• Fort Pierce, Florida
• Boerne, Texas
• Monroe County, Georgia

More Buc-ee's locations are coming through 2031

The company already has plans stretching several years into the future. In 2028, shoppers can expect new stores in Mebane, North Carolina, and Lafayette, Louisiana.

The final phase of the current expansion includes four additional locations opening between 2029 and 2031:

• Ocala, Florida (2029)
• West Memphis, Arkansas (2029)
• Oak Grove, Kentucky (2029)
• Hardeeville, South Carolina (2031)

While Buc-ee's hasn't announced exact opening dates beyond this year, construction is expected to continue over the next several years as the chain grows its national footprint.

Other cult-favorite retailers are expanding too 

Trader Joe's recently announced plans to open nine additional stores across eight states, including new locations in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Utah. While the grocery chain hasn't shared exact opening dates, the stores are part of a broader expansion that will bring 21 new Trader Joe's locations to 13 states over the next six months.

And Costco is also continuing its rapid growth. The warehouse retailer recently opened new locations in Syracuse, Utah, and Pensacola, Florida, and has seven more stores scheduled to open beginning this August in New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, and Missouri.

Mike D, the iconic frontman of the '90s hip-hop group Beastie Boys, has announced five new U.S. shows. The news of the mini-trek was shared on June 24, 2026 via Instagram, eliciting instant excitement from longtime fans of the group.

The regional run follows the highly anticipated arrival of his debut solo album, Thank You, which is scheduled to drop on August 28 via Capitol Records. Mike D's short tour is set to commence on August 30 in Boston, Massachusetts and will conclude on September 9 in Queens, New York.

Just sugar. No contrast,” he says. “Adding hefty pinches of ground ginger and cinnamon to your dough changes the profile.”

If you want to add an unexpected boost to the berries, he also says he adds a few grinds of Aleppo pepper to the macerated strawberries for a moderately spicy kick.

2. Cut through the sweetness with a splash of vinegar

Leite also suggests amping up your macerating liquid by adding a splash of balsamic vinegar to make things interesting.

“Ditch the standard sugar-only maceration. Instead, toss strawberries with a tablespoon or two of good-quality balsamic vinegar and a 1/4 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper,” he says. “The pepper cuts the cloying sweetness, while the balsamic coaxes out a deep, complex syrup.” 

3. Add a hint of herbs for a summery shortcake

Although you can always use premade shortcake shells or sponge cake, if you’re making your own biscuits from scratch, you should avoid twisting your biscuit cutter. “If you twist the cutter, you pinch and seal the edges of the dough, which completely locks down the gluten and destroys the magnificent rise you're looking for,” Leite says.

2. Be mindful of maceration

Despite some recipes calling for you to macerate strawberries for a few hours or even overnight, Leite says when it comes to macerating berries, the shorter the better.

“Tossing the sliced berries in sugar sweetens them as well as creates all that luscious juice. But leave them too long, and you're fishing out flaccid little triangles of fruit,” he says. “I find 20 minutes, maybe 30, is perfect. None of this overnight chilling in the fridge.”

3. Skip store-bought whipped cream

This one might ruffle a few feathers, but while objectively there’s nothing wrong with Cool Whip or store-bought whipped cream from a can, if you’re going for a showstopping strawberry shortcake, it’s a good idea to make your own whipped cream.

Not only is it super easy, but it also tastes so much better. “A simple Chantilly cream made from heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla and a pinch of salt is all you need. It blows Cool Whip out of the water,” Leite says.

Before anyone effectively figured out how to sell music on the internet, Aerosmith gave it away. On June 27, 1994, the Boston rock band and their label, Geffen Records, made history by releasing "Head First" as the first song by a major artist available exclusively as a digital download, and the music industry hasn't really been the same ever since.

The vehicle was CompuServe, one of America's first major internet service providers, which counted roughly two million subscribers at the time. Customers could type "GO AEROSMITH" into the CompuServe command line and receive a 4.3MB WAV file of the track, or a smaller mono version for those tight on storage. The song was free, and CompuServe waived its standard $9.60-an-hour connection fees for the duration of the download. Given the modem speeds of the era, that download still took 60 to 90 minutes, and around 10,000 people did exactly that within the first eight days the song was available.

The track itself was a leftover. "Head First" came from Aerosmith's sessions for 1993's Get a Grip and had only appeared previously as a B-side on the European release of "Eat the Rich." Selecting it was partly practical, as Geffen's technology team, led by Chief Technology Officer Jim Griffin, needed a short file. "It was proof of life for digital music," Griffin said years later. The legal questions were immediate and enormous. How would artists, labels, and songwriters get paid in a world of digital files? There was no clear answer in 1994. Griffin himself went from CTO to traveling the world explaining the revolution in digital music distribution.

Steven Tyler, for his part, seemed more interested in the larger technology of the moment than the paperwork details. "If our fans are out there driving down that information superhighway, then we want to be playing at the truck stop," he said at the time. "This is the future, so let's get it going." Bassist Tom Hamilton took it further, entering CompuServe chat rooms to speak directly with fans and occasionally correct misconceptions about Aerosmith lore.

The music industry around them was far more cautious. Major labels were still treating the internet as a threat to be managed rather than a channel to embrace. Geffen's Luke Wood later described the rationale simply. "We did it because it can be done and is cool and is fun," he said, though he acknowledged the harder question lurking underneath. "How do you collect copyright fees?" Within a few years, Napster would answer that question in a way that further disrupted the industry.

Thirty-two years later, the industry that "Head First" helped disrupt generates the vast majority of its revenue from digital streaming. What Aerosmith and Geffen were at the front of with a single WAV file and a 90-minute wait time now plays out billions of times a day, frictionlessly, in pockets around the world.

Wendy Makkena, who played soft-spoken novice Sister Mary Robert in the beloved Sister Act films alongside Whoopi Goldberg, has opened up about some of her character choices.

“I thought to myself, ‘How am I gonna then justify how obsessed I sort of am with Deloris?' And then I thought, ‘Well, maybe there's an attraction,'” Makkena has recently said on the You Might Know Her From podcast.

The 1992 feelgood classic follows Goldberg's Deloris Van Cariter after she is forced into witness protection and must disguise herself as a nun. Makkena played a timid, novice to the convent who is still trying to find her place amongst the other nuns.

Deloris's loud, confident nature helps to warm up Sister Mary Roberts, who soon starts to sing and speak out. Makkena made the choice to add a subtext to her performance. The movie also starred Maggie Smith, Kathy Najimy, Mary Wickes, and Harvey Keitel. 

“It occurred to me that possibly, Sister Mary Robert was drawn to Deloris unconsciously, subconsciously… that there was some kind of attraction that not even Sister Mary Robert would have been, given how very innocent she was, aware of,” Makkena explained on the podcast

She never told anyone about her decision, “And nobody certainly noticed it on set. It was just an internal little secret that I used as an actor.”

But, some critics and audience members did pick up on this subtle character choice, something which surprised and validated the actress.

“It wasn't until the movie came out and the reviews were so lovely, and somebody called me, and they said, ‘Oh my gosh, Out Magazine says that how come nobody has noticed the sexual tension between Deloris and Sister Mary Robert?'” she recalled. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, they picked up on it.' ”

The film has long been a favorite of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2017, Dazed wrote a piece calling Sister Act a "biracial lesbian rom-com." In 2022, Catapult wrote about the "queerness" of the Whoopi Goldberg movie.
