Dachshund With 'Mohawk' Falls in Love With Bird With the Same Hairdo in Sweet Video
Some of the greatest love stories ever told begin with a simple meeting of the minds, where the chance of sparks flying is palpable. These kismet interactions, especially between the most unlikely souls, don't always fit in a neat little box, but the heart wants what it wants.
This is what Einstein, the WirehairedDachshund, recently experienced during an outing with Mom. Once this mohawk-sporting pup spotted the prettiest Cockatiel in all the land, it truly was love at first sight.

♬ pluto projector - alLike I said, you can't control fate or how love finds you. I'm sure Einstein didn't wake up that day thinking he'd be so smitten with a Cockatiel, but after laying eyes on a bird with the same mohawk, he just *knew* they're meant to be together forever and ever, Amen!

Einstein is the only Wirehaired Dachshund in his doggy-centric household, which includes seven other adorable Doxies and a huge Great Dane to round things out.
We're always happy when Mom @yunabugs shares a small glimpse of what it's like living with such a lively canine crew. Whenever Einstein has special one-on-one time with Mom, it's even better. He's such a kind and gentle soul; it's no wonder he and the bird shared a precious moment.
@yunabugsReply to @_iswearicanexplain Let’s see who goes next!! 🥹 #fyp #fy #foryou #dog #dachshund
♬ Everybody Talks - Neon Trees Can Dachshunds Get Along With Birds? As cool as it is to watch Einstein fall head over heels for a cute bird, it's not a usual love connection. Dachshunds are generally considered some of the best independent hunters of small prey, particularly dangerous animals, with a high prey drive. The diligent, loyal, sometimes stubborn watchdogs might confuse a pet bird as prey, and if given the chance, they might act on those instincts.
While every pup has their own personality, temperament, and ways of interacting with other animals, the Doxie-and-bird combo isn't a sure thing. For pet parents with a Dachshund thinking about adding a bird to the mix, know your pooch's pros and cons, and as always, supervise any interactions.
That said, Einstein and his new love interest are why Disney and Pixar exist, and they really are the sweetest pair!

Precious Dog Abandoned in Hawaii Gets the Most Unexpected Surprise From Tourists
Abandoned dogs have to survive on the street, often in horrific living conditions. This is a global crisis, with many canines suffering from illness and malnutrition as they have to fend for themselves with no outside support.
Some animal lovers have come across stray dogs while on vacation and made the spontaneous decision to add a fur baby to their family. Kona was a homeless pooch when she befriended some tourists and ended up with a forever home.

♬ original sound - KeirAHHThe TikTok from @keira.bo.beira shared the story of how Kona was found in a parking lot in Hawaii and caught the attention of some tourists. A young woman traveling with her mother was smitten with the pooch after crossing paths and decided to get her off the streets.
"Made my mom drive back to the boat harbor and [Kona] was waiting for me in the same spot," the onscreen text explained as the sweet gray and white dog ran to greet her rescuer. Immediately, the vacationers changed their plans so they could bring Kona back to their hotel. "Cancelled our dinner reservations and walked to the subway."
The mother-daughter duo had to sneak the precious pooch past the front desk since the hotel didn't allow pets. Then, Kona got a bath to remove the ticks and black tar on her skin and fur before catching some shuteye in a cozy dog bed.
Kona Flew Home With Her New FamilyThe family took Kona to the vet for a checkup, then she had to stay at the local pound for five days for full clearance to leave the state. The young woman and her mom extended their vacation while waiting to take Kona home. They even moved to a pet-friendly hotel so Kona could fully enjoy her accommodations.
"Explored the island while waiting for her paperwork to fly home," the story continued as Kona and her new mom joyfully ran in a park and looked over a restaurant menu together.

Finally, the family flew back home to Los Angeles with Kona in tow. The fur baby met her canine siblings and is loving her new life with her forever family.
"Now she sleeps in my bed every night and comes with me to the barn," the text concluded, with the caption adding, "My baby Kona."
Thanks to these caring women and their selflessness in altering their vacation, Kona is now living the life she deserves.

Boxer Gets Dramatic When Mom Burps Baby Until Dog Sibling Gives Emotional Support
Dogs are very empathetic and can pick up on our discomfort. Yet sometimes they misinterpret everyday situations as a sign of distress and feel the need to step in. That protective side of canines sometimes kicks in even when intervention isn't necessary.
Goose the Boxer seems to get upset whenever her mom has to burp her human baby brother, prompting her canine brother Rooster to calm her down.

♬ original sound - a moneyGoose's mom was on the couch with her baby boy in the TikTok from @amoneyroorda. She repeatedly patted the baby on his back in an effort to get him to burp, prompting some fussing from the little boy.
The Boxer heard the baby's protests and tried to put a stop to the belching protocol. Goose reprimanded her mom with a disconcerted expression and some barking.
"I'm just burping him, I'm not hurting him," Goose's mom reassured as the dog continued her vocal disapproval. "He's fine."
Goose's Sibling Lended a PawDespite her mom's attempts to appease her, Goose wasn't buying it and approached her mom in a plea to halt the entire burping process. Her fur baby brother Rooster saw Goose's genuine concern and knew it was time to step up.
The black and white dog placed a paw on Goose's back, hoping to both stop her and comfort her at the same time. Rooster seemed to be saying, "Hey, it's okay. This is what moms do."
The caption confirmed that everything was okay with the baby, stating, "He’s fine — just won’t burp."
Followers raved over the compassionate canines and guessed at what went through Rooster's mind.
"The one in the back is like 'hold yourself together man'," someone posted.
"The other one is like, 'come on, dude, we do this every day!'” a fan remarked.

Wait Until You See the Surprise This Firehouse Had for Their Favorite Shelter Dog
Some dogs don’t need saving in the dramatic sense—they just need consistency, familiar faces and a place where they don’t have to prove themselves every day.
Ferb, a 10-year-old senior dog who became a favorite at the local Station Five fire station in St. Charles, Missouri, didn’t change who he was to get adopted. He just finally ended up somewhere that understood him.
Ferb spent many years at Five Acres Animal Shelter, according to an article from InvestigateTV. He had been adopted and returned twice, but then, finally, the kennel door opened and he found his forever home.
How a Shelter Dog Became Part of a Fire CrewFerb’s turning point didn’t happen in a single moment. It built slowly, visit by visit, as firefighters kept coming back.
Everything started when the local firefighters learned about Ferb’s obsession with sirens. According to the shelter, whenever a fire truck passed by with its sirens, he would let out a howl. When people at the fire station learned about his behavior, they invited him to the station. They even celebrated his birthday together there.
Soon, Ferb began visiting the firefighters weekly with trips to the firehouse. The station provided something he didn’t have at the shelter: routine, structure, timing and knowing his role. He fit into their rhythm immediately.
At the fire station, Ferb got his own bed, and would greet firefighters with a wagging tail every time they came back from a mission.
Related: Shelter Dog Goes on Simple Walk—Then the Unthinkable Happens
Finding His Forever HomeIt didn’t take long for people to notice that Ferb is an awesome dog once he was out of the kennel. With the firefighters, he was getting plenty of attention.
Two weeks after his story aired, a couple contacted the shelter about Ferb. They saw the story, and said, “He looked like a good dog, and we loved his name.”
Once the kennel door finally opened for Ferb and his forever home, we can be sure he couldn’t stop wagging his tail going into his new home.
The news story said he has a new favorite place: the kitchen, a place where he patiently waits for treats.
After waiting 10 years to find his forever home, we're so happy he finally found his because every dog deserves a chance at a happy life.

Exhausted Shih-Tzu Looks Like He’s Fighting for His Life To Stay Awake
Some dogs get sleepy. This Shih-Tzu? This man is battling something. His eyes are barely open, his little mouth is doing that half-awake “I am not OK” thing, and his entire face looks like he just remembered something embarrassing from 2007 and cannot recover.

Related: Shih-Tzu Screaming To Be Lifted Onto the Bed Sounds Exactly Like a Furious Child
The comments immediately turned it into a full personality.
“How I look when I’m congested,” one person wrote, and honestly, that is exactly the face. Just fully blocked, no thoughts getting through.
“Me, when someone talks to me in the morning,” which feels a little too real. No eye contact. No conversation. Just survival.
“Get that baby to sleep!” someone begged, and yes. Please. He has done enough.
“Me, hungover the next day thinking I really didn’t need that last shot,” another added, which… yeah. That tracks.
“Me waking up at 7 p.m. after saying I was taking a 2-hour nap at 2 p.m.,” and suddenly this dog is all of us.
And then, “When my husband tells me to watch his golf video,” which might be the most specific and accurate one of all.
I keep staring at his face because it somehow gets worse the longer I look. The eyes drifting. The tiny mouth. The general vibe of “Please stop judging me.” If I looked like this, I would simply cancel the day and crawl back into bed. For a week.
How Much Sleep Do Adult Dogs Need? @cottonmillk9sDid you know? 🐾 Dogs generally sleep for 12 to 14 hours a day on average, although this can vary significantly with age, with puppies and senior dogs needing more sleep (up to 18-20 hours) and working or smaller breeds potentially sleeping less. Dogs' sleep patterns are different from humans, involving frequent naps throughout the day and night, and proper rest is crucial for their physical and mental health, including immune function and repair. So try not to wake a sleeping dog… they NEED it.
♬ original sound - MabelAdult dogs typically need around 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day, though it can vary depending on their age, breed, and activity level. Smaller breeds like Shih-Tzus can sometimes sleep even more, especially if they are living a very demanding life of… being carried around and judging everyone.
Pups don't sleep in one long stretch like humans. Instead, they nap throughout the day, which is why you will often see them fully passed out one minute and ready to go the next.
If a dog looks especially exhausted, like this little guy, it could just mean he had a busy day, did a lot of playing, or is simply in a deep rest cycle. Puppies and senior dogs tend to sleep even more as their bodies grow or slow down.
As long as your furbaby is eating well, active when awake, and not showing signs of illness, a lot of sleep is usually completely normal.
That said, if your dog ever looks like they are actively fighting to stay conscious like this… maybe just let them nap. Immediately.

Dog Parents Can’t Stop Buying Amazon’s $7 ‘Indestructible’ Fetch Stick
Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
A new month means a new set of toys for my pup Winnie, and one of her squeaky animals has already been through the wringer.
Our process is simple. I say, “Where’s your toy?” and Winnie bolts toward her bin. Then, she brings the toy, sprints when I throw it, starts panting in excitement, rolls on her back, and then returns it to me. It’s an adorable exchange that has only strengthened our relationship.
For as much as Winnie loves the toys that make noise, her favorites are the ones that she can chew on. Amazon currently lists the Chuckit! ultra fetch stick for $7, and it’s a deal every dog parent should consider.
What to Know About This Dog Toy- At 12 inches long, the stick is designed to work for dogs of all sizes, from a tiny Yorkie to a giant, fluffy Goldendoodle.
- The fetch stick comes in two types: the Ultra Fetch and the EcoFetch. However, the EcoFetch stick is skinnier and costs $10.
- You won’t need to worry about losing sight of the stick, not when it comes in bright orange. That’s the only color available for the Ultra Fetch. The EcoFetch is primarily green, with blue and orange accents.
- Free shipping is available for Prime members.
Courtesy of Amazon
Shop ItReviews: What Buyers Say About This Fetch StickThe Chuckit! ultra fetch stick has a high 4.6-star rating (out of 5.0) on Amazon's website, with 78% of the over 18,000 reviewers leaving a perfect score. Interestingly, despite Amazon suggesting that the toy isn’t made for dogs who are aggressive chewers, buyers raved about how well the stick held up in those instances:
- "Indestructible for a dog who has destroyed every other toy I've bought him."
- “I never really expected it to last when I got it. Surprise! Almost two months of rigorous daily play and it’s still almost like new!”
The Bottom Line: As I write this, Winnie just licked my face and is ready to play fetch again. She’s ready to go. If your furry friend has the same mindset as Winnie, then definitely look into the Chuckit! ultra fetch stick. You certainly don’t want to be picking up pieces of a torn-up, fragile chew toy.
Tripod Dog and Kitten Become Best Friends During Hospital Stay—and Their Story Has the Sweetest Ending
Friendships can form in the most unexpected places—like this one, which began in a veterinary hospital during recovery.
At a vet hospital run by Maryland-based animal rescue Last Chance Animal Rescue, a young dog named Blueberry and a kitten named Meadow were both healing from life-changing injuries.

Blueberry, a 1-year-old French Bulldog mix, had one of her front legs amputated after being found on the side of the road with serious injuries. Meadow, a 7-month-old black kitten, also underwent an amputation after arriving at the rescue with part of her hind leg missing.
Both were adjusting to life as “tripods,” and somewhere in that process, they found each other.
“They met while recovering at our vet hospital and quickly became inseparable—two three-legged survivors learning how to navigate the world again, side by side,” the rescue shared on Facebook.
From Recovery Buddies to Best FriendsMeadow, described by the rescue as a bit of a “kitty ambassador,” would visit and comfort other animals recovering from surgery. Typically, the other animals wouldn't engage with Meadow much, but with Blueberry, the connection was mutual.
The two began spending more and more time together—playing, cuddling and simply existing side by side as they healed. It was as if they were helping each other through it.

A Hopeful Wish Comes TrueAs Blueberry and Meadow got stronger, the rescue had one big hope: that they might be adopted together. It wasn’t a requirement, but it was clear just how much they meant to each other.
And then, the right people came along. After seeing their story, a Maryland couple stepped forward to adopt both animals, recognizing that their bond was something special. The couple already had experience caring for a three-legged pet—their tripod cat named Cici, who they adopted in 2023—making them a perfect fit.
“Now settling into their new home with two feline siblings (including a fellow tripod!), they’ve been home for almost a week and are doing great,” the rescue wrote in a follow-up Facebook post.
A Story of Resilience and FriendshipBlueberry and Meadow’s story is heartwarming, but it’s also a reminder of how resilient animals can be.
Despite trauma, surgery and major life changes, both of them have continued to show curiosity, affection and an ability to form deep bonds.
Ultimately, this story is a wonderful reminder that healing doesn’t just come from time—it can also come from having someone by your side who understands. For these two best friends, that’s exactly what they found in each other.

Mama Bear's Precious Game of Hide-n-Seek With Her Cubs Caught on Trail Cam
There are some things you just don't expect to see on a trail camera. A mama bear playing the most adorable game of hide and seek with her cub? That's definitely one of them.
There's trail footage from near South Lake Tahoe that caught exactly that situation—a mama bear and her baby playing what looks like an actual game of hide and seek in the forest. ABC7 News Bay Area shared the video with the caption, "An adorable game of hide and seek between a mama bear and her baby was caught on a trail camera near South Lake Tahoe. The video is from late March when bear activity is at its highest for this community."
And it's exactly what it sounds like. Mama's hiding and peeking around trees. Baby's following along. They're playing.
The commenters immediately sized up the situation.

"So adorable 🥰" the universal reaction.
What makes this footage special is that we're witnessing behavior that, decades ago, we might never have gotten to see. Trail cameras let us observe these moments without disturbing the animals—just pure mama bear and cub bonding in their natural habitat.
Mother Bears Are Incredibly Protective and Nurturing With Their CubsHere's what makes this play session so significant: mama bears don't just protect their cubs—they actively teach and engage with them. Every decision a mama bear makes is filtered through the priority of keeping her cubs alive. She teaches them to forage for food, identify danger, and navigate the world around them.
Play is part of that learning process. When cubs play with their mother, they're learning coordination, building strength, and practicing behaviors that they'll need as adults. Hide and seek might look like just having fun, but it's also teaching the cub about staying close to mama, following her lead, and understanding their environment.
Mother bears choose den locations with their cubs' safety in mind, stay with them for a year and a half to two and a half years, and will defend them against any threat—even threats much larger than themselves. Mama bears will do whatever it takes to protect their young. The protective ‘mama bear’ instinct is real, powerful, and starts before the cubs are even born.

But they also do this—they play. They bond. They create precious moments like the one caught on this trail camera.
Late March is when bear activity spikes near South Lake Tahoe, as bears emerge from winter dens with new cubs. This mama and baby were doing what bears do: exploring, bonding, playing.
And now we get to witness it. That's the gift of trail cameras—these private, precious moments preserved without interruption.Mama playing hide and seek with her baby. Adorable doesn't even come close to covering it.

The bond between a pet and their owner is one of the most significant relationships in a person's life. However, the demands of modern life—work, travel and social obligations—often mean leaving our furry companions home alone for hours at a time. This separation can lead to pet parent guilt and anxiety for both the human and the animal. Many owners find themselves constantly wondering what their pets are doing: Are they sleeping? Are they barking at the mail carrier? Or perhaps they are getting into mischief in the kitchen?
In recent years, the rise of smart home technology has revolutionized how we manage these periods of absence. Rather than returning home to a mystery, pet owners are now utilizing advanced monitoring systems to bridge the gap. These devices offer more than just a window into the living room; they provide a sense of presence and interaction that was once impossible. By integrating high-definition visuals with communication tools, technology has turned the solitary hours of a pet's day into an opportunity for remote engagement and positive reinforcement.

For many pet owners, mealtime is the highlight of the day. It is a moment of excitement and bonding, but it can also be a source of hidden stress for our furry companions. Traditional plastic or lightweight metal bowls often slide across the floor as a dog or cat tries to eat, leading to a frustrating chase for their kibble. Furthermore, certain materials can harbor bacteria or create harsh reflections that startle sensitive animals. Creating a dedicated, calm dining environment is essential for the long-term health and happiness of your four-legged family members.
Choosing the right accessories for your home involves balancing aesthetics with functionality too. While we want our living spaces to look coordinated, our pets still require equipment that is safe, sturdy and easy to maintain. High-quality ceramics and stoneware have become the preferred choice for interior-conscious pet parents because they provide the necessary weight to stay upright and in place even during vigorous eating.

♬ original sound - Deo M. Divinagracia - RetroSibs 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 What Is Cerebellar Hypoplasia in Cats?Corns wobbly ways are actually a noncontagious, nonprogressive neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). This is when the part of the brain that controls balance and coordination (the cerebellum) is underdeveloped at birth. Since the brain stops growing, it remains in an immature state.
The result is a "wobbly" kitty whose movements are jerky and cartoonish, sometimes with tremors or falling over, but it doesn't worsen over time.
The severity of this condition depends on how far along in development the kitten is in utero before Mom is infected with the viral infection that causes it. Then, she may pass it down to unborn babies.
The good news is that Corn is thriving and living his best life. Maybe one day we'll catch him kicking the soccer ball around with the pros!

Turtle Covered in Hundreds of Barnacles Fights Her Way Back to the Ocean After 92 Days
As someone who loves all animals, I get a slew of mixed emotions watching rescues. We're so happy that the animals are being removed from something that's not safe, but it's also really hard to see their appearance not being treated the way they should be. These rescues can feel like a race against time, but watching humans jump into action is powerful.
In this video, one turtle's journey changed with the care and patience of a marine rescue center that quite literally saved his life. Here's her story.
@tabbysiegfriedSyrena’s story reached so many people 💙 I’ve seen a few common questions in the comments, so let’s talk about them 👇🐢 Drop your questions below! #seaturtlerescue #seaturtles #seaturtlerehab #navarrebeachflorida #marinebiologist
♬ original sound - Tabby Siegfried | Marine BioOn April 1, @tabbyseigfried, a marine biologist working in sea turtle rehabilitation and conservation, shared a video about a sea turtle named Syrena, who was exhibiting symptoms of debilitated turtle syndrome (DTS), according to the video. They're not sure what causes DTS, but once they found Syrena and saw she was covered in barnacles, the rescue team went right to work.
Over the course of 92 days, the team worked to bring Syrena out of the danger zone since the survival rate is only 20%, she explained. They were thankfully able to "bring her back to life," and she looks so much healthier now.

In the comments, people were encouraged to ask questions, and they had a lot of them.
One person asked, "Thank you for all the hard work in saving these turtles! Is there any way we can help support your work?" Tabby answered her question, sharing that the "best way is to spread awareness."
Another wrote, "What’s her estimated age? Survival likelihood after release? Did she spend time in a freshwater tank to make barnacle removal easier?" Tabby explained that they can't estimate her age, but they believe she is an adult.
Someone else shared, "I’m so glad she’s healthy. On my island, we have so many turtles, and they truly are magical creatures."
Other comments included, "Thank you for all of your hard work!! Super inspirational," and "Thank you so much." And a lot of people asked for videos of them removing all the barnacles.

How Did the Rescue Conservation Team Find Syrena? In a previously published video, we learn how the conservation team came across Syrena and saw footage of them pulling her into the boat.
@tabbysiegfriedWe found her struggling nearshore — weak and in desperate need of help. Without a second thought, I jumped in. That’s what you do when you care deeply about sea turtles and the ocean they call home. Since then, she’s been receiving the critical care she needs to stabilize — but she’s not out of the woods yet. Her condition is still very serious, and we’re monitoring her closely every day. Despite it all, she’s already carved out a special place in my heart. There’s a quiet strength in her — the kind that reminds me why this work matters, even on the hardest days. #seaturtlerescue #marinebiologist #oceanconservation #wildliferehab #conservation
♬ Lovely Moment - RealMusicAccording to the video, the marine biologists found the sea turtle near the shore and struggling. They jumped in to help her onto the boat so they could attempt to save her life, unsure if that would be possible given how much she was struggling. She immediately received "critical care she needs to stabilize" and described her condition as being "very serious."
But thankfully, with the incredible strength Syrena showed and the dedicated team, she's on the upswing, and that's amazing!
Man With Only $11 Fed His Cats Over Himself—Nearly 100 Rescued Cats Need Homes Immediately
When you have just $11 to your name and you choose to spend it feeding your cats instead of yourself, that's love. And that's exactly what happened in Alabaster, Alabama.
A man living in a small shed in Shelby County was evicted, leaving nearly 100 cats without a place to call home. But this isn't a story about neglect—it's about a man who cared so deeply about others that he went without to make sure his cats didn't.
Stephanie Brown, media manager for Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, explained what rescuers found: "He did everything he could to take care of these cats. It just clearly got out of control."
@wbrcnewsAn emergency hoarding situation has left nearly 100 cats without a home in Alabaster, and local rescues are working together to find them all a place to go by Sunday night. Abby Haymond has the details. (📸 - Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue) #wbrc #wbrcnews #wbrcandme
♬ original sound - WBRC 6 News - WBRC 6 NewsIt started five years ago, the man had two older fixed cats and took in one stray who turned out to be pregnant. Unortunately, when cats aren't spayed or neutered, the population can explode faster than a caretaker can keep up. The shed had power and water but no ceiling, so cats were living in the rafters. The conditions were quite overwhelming, but the man's good intentions were never called into question. With only $11, he was feeding them over himself.
Now, the man is getting help from a friend out of state to get back on his feet. But, those cats need help too—and fast.
Nearly 100 Social, Adoptable Cats Need Urgent Homes After Alabama RescueHere's the great news: these cats are in great shape. Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue has found 91 cats so far, and one just gave birth to another litter Friday. Most are less than five years old. They're very social. They’re adorable and they're adoptable.
Related: Could Tax Credits for Your Pet Be Coming? This State Has Them in the Works
"So many rescues would just take them in and euthanize," Brown said. "And that's not what we want because these cats are actually in great shape. We really feel strongly that they have a chance at being wonderful, adoptable pets. And we want to do everything that we can to get them to that place."
The rescue is racing to find homes, provide medical care, and spay and neuter the cats who are old enough. Even with other rescue groups taking in dozens of them, they still can't take all that are left.

Rescued Italian Greyhound Without Eyes Is the Definition of Precious
It is always a little magical when a special-needs dog ends up exactly where they are supposed to be. Like everything lined up just right, and somehow they land in a home where they are not just cared for, but fully, deeply loved. That is Emma.
In the clip, Emma, a tiny Italian Greyhound, is living her life in the most normal, joyful way imaginable. Going on walks, playing, being passed from family member to family member for kisses, curling up for cuddles, as if she has always belonged there. And honestly, she has. Just watch this beautiful video.
@emma.the.iggya year ago, after months of saying I would never get a dog, this tiny creature came into our lives. we haven’t been the same since. Emma needed bilateral enucleation surgery while she was at the humane society, and we adopted her shortly after. She is the sweetest and so easy to love. #seniorpup #iggy#cutedogsonly #dogsoftiktok #doglove
♬ original sound - emma.the.iggyThe TikTok video was uploaded to @emmatheiggy, and the caption explains that Emma needed bilateral enucleation surgery while she was at the humane society, and her family adopted her shortly after. They said they had spent months saying they would never get a dog, which is always how these stories start, and now they cannot imagine life without her.
Related: Watch This Brave Blind Dog's Sweet Surprise During His Very First Leash Walk
And you can see why. Emma moves through the world with so much trust and confidence. She leans into her people, follows their voices, plays like any other dog, and just… exists in this really pure, uncomplicated joy.
There is also a moment where she is wearing little googly eyes over her empty eye sockets, and I need you to understand I lost it. It is ridiculous and sweet and somehow perfectly captures the vibe of this whole story. Nothing about her life is defined by what she is missing. It is defined by how loved she is.
The comments were exactly what you would hope.
“She is beyond perfect. What an incredible, lovely, and magical creature,” one person wrote.
“I’m so happy she’s with her people,” another added, and that really is the whole point.
“What a precious little one!! So sweet!” and “That baby knows she is so loved,” which you can feel through the screen.
“God bless all of you and thank you for adopting this beautiful baby,” someone said, and yes. That gratitude shows up in every second of the video.
And then, of course, “The googly eyes!” because no one is getting over that.
I keep thinking about how different her story could have been. And instead, she is here. Warm, safe, adored, and probably getting more attention than she knows what to do with. As she should.
How To Prepare Your Home To Adopt a Blind Dog @hollywooddiva_If any of you pawpals have questions about caring for blind pups or things you wonder about me, don't hold back!😆🐶 drop them in the comments below 👇💙 #blinddogsoftiktok #blinddogawareness #blindlifestyle
♬ original sound - HOLLYWOODBringing home a blind dog might feel intimidating at first, but most adapt incredibly well, especially when they have a consistent, loving environment. The biggest thing you can do is keep your home predictable. Try not to move furniture around too often, and keep pathways clear so your pup can learn the layout and move confidently.
Be consistent. Using sound can also help a lot. Talking to your dog as you move around, calling their name, or even using gentle cues like tapping can help them orient themselves and feel secure. Many blind dogs rely heavily on their hearing and sense of smell, so they build a mental map of their space faster than you might expect.
It is also important to create safe zones. Soft beds, rugs for traction, and barriers around stairs or unsafe areas can help prevent accidents while they are still learning.
And maybe the most important part is this. Treat them like a dog, not a limitation. They still want to play, explore, cuddle, and be part of your life. They are not fragile. They are adaptable.
Emma is proof of that. She is not defined by what she cannot see. She is defined by how fully she is loved.

Cockatoo Throws the Funniest Toddler Tantrum After Dog Bumps Into Her Cage
There are dramatic pets.
Then there are Cockatoos.
And then there is Molly, who reacts to one dog accidentally bumping her stand like she's preparing a formal complaint, a memoir, and possibly a retaliation plan.
@mollsballs208Angry Tranquility Chicken because one of the dogs accidentally bumped his stand lol kind of funny though. #hilarious #cockatoo #goofy #grumpy
♬ original sound - MollyIn the video, Molly is up on her perch, visibly offended and absolutely not interested in moving on quickly. The post caption says, “Angry Tranquility Chicken because one of the dogs accidentally bumped her stand, lol, kind of funny though.” That already tells you everything you need to know. This was not a major incident. No one was harmed. Nothing exploded. But to Molly, this was clearly an act of disrespect that deserved a full emotional response.
And wow, does she deliver one.
What makes the clip so funny is how specific the outrage feels. Molly is not just startled. She is bothered. She has the exact energy of a toddler who got jostled in line and now needs the whole room to acknowledge what just happened. You can practically feel her replaying it in her head, like, first of all, how dare you.
The people in the comments absolutely understood the assignment, too. One person wrote, “Whistling for the dog 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” which is hilarious because it really does look like Molly is calling the suspect back over for questioning. Another said, “My birb has a specific sound for the dogs, and it’s definitely a swear word in her language. 🤣” That one feels deeply correct. If Parrots can develop signature tones for household drama, then Molly absolutely has a dog-related setting, and it is not polite.
That is why this video works so well. It is not just a bird making noise. It is a full personality event. Cockatoos are already masters of expressing huge feelings in tiny moments, and Molly seems especially gifted at making one accidental bump feel like a betrayal on a spiritual level.
And honestly, that is part of what makes Cockatoo videos so addictive. Dogs can be dramatic. Cats can be dramatic. But Cockatoos bring this extra layer of theatrical conviction that is almost impossible to beat. They do not just react. They announce. They process out loud. They perform.
Molly clearly has thoughts about the dogs, thoughts about personal space, and thoughts about being inconvenienced in her own home, and she is not about to keep any of those thoughts to herself. Good for her, honestly.
Big Reactions Are Part of How Cockatoos CommunicateAs funny as Molly’s tantrum is, companion birds often use vocal changes and body language to show excitement, fear, frustration, or overstimulation. VCAHospitals notes that birds can react strongly when aroused or stressed, and that warning signs and behavior shifts matter because what looks “funny” can also be a real communication signal.
That is why it helps to watch the setup, not just the outburst. If your Cockatoo gets upset after a pup gets too close, a stand gets bumped, or the room gets chaotic, creating more space, reducing surprise interactions, and giving them a calmer perch area can go a long way.
Honestly, Molly reacted like that dog had just stepped on her tiny lawyer briefcase.

This Allergy Alert Service Dog Will Drop Anything to Get His Human Her Meds—and We’re Impressed
Service dogs are trained for moments exactly like this, but seeing it in action never gets old.
In a viral YouTube short posted by @ryderthedal, Ryder the Dalmatian proves just how seriously he takes his job as a medical alert service dog.

On Top of His GameThe clip—which is captioned “Randomly testing my Service Dog’s Epi-pen retrieval!”—shows Ryder being put to the test in a variety of everyday situations—and passing every single time.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VuQxoc743hQ
It starts with Ryder standing on the bed, happily holding a plush toy. The moment his mom says, “Ryder, meds!” he drops it without hesitation and sprints off to grab her EpiPen pouch, quickly returning it with a wagging tail.
Next, he’s chewing on a tasty treat. Same cue, same response—drop everything, retrieve meds. And it doesn’t stop there.
No Matter the SituationRyder is tested while his mom is in the shower, in the basement and even outside at the beach. Each time, the result is the same: immediate focus, quick action and a clear eagerness to help.
No distraction is too big. No environment throws him off.
It’s not just that Ryder knows what to do—it’s how excited he seems to do it. Every time he delivers the pouch, his tail is wagging, like he knows he’s doing something important.
What Is a Medical Service Dog?Ryder’s response isn’t luck—it’s the result of specialized training.
Medical service dogs are trained to assist people with specific health conditions, such as severe allergies, diabetes, seizures or mobility challenges. Depending on their role, they may be taught to detect changes in their handler’s body, alert them to a medical event or retrieve critical items like medication.
In Ryder’s case, he’s been trained to recognize a specific verbal cue (“meds”) and immediately retrieve an EpiPen, which can be life-saving during a severe allergic reaction.
Training for these dogs involves repetition, positive reinforcement and gradually introducing distractions, so they can perform reliably in real-world situations, not just at home.
More Than Just a TrickWhile the video is impressive (and incredibly adorable), what Ryder is doing goes far beyond a fun party trick.
This kind of training can make a real difference in an emergency where every second counts.
And judging by how quickly Ryder springs into action—no matter what he’s doing—it’s clear he takes that responsibility very seriously.

Standard Poodle Looks Like He’s Wearing Boots and Acting Unhinged
Frankie is a Standard Poodle with the house to himself. Groomed to look like he’s wearing boots, Frankie is charming social media with his wild antics caught on video. Standard Poodle moms and dads are likely quick to recognize Frankie’s shenanigans. The breed is known for its frisky phase. Frankie’s does seem like more than a phase, however. Judging by the way this pup rocks out, Frankie is just a wild child at heart, enjoying the freedom of having his Yorkie buddies out for the day.
It’s easy to think of Standard Poodles as calm, even regal, with their mature, poised personas coupled with their typical grooming style, which can give off the impression these Poodles are dignified and haughty. To know a Standard Poodle, especially a puppy, is to know this dog breed has a wild phase that can include some chaotic, even unhinged, behavior.
Frankie is a perfect (and let’s face it, wildly charming) example of a Standard Poodle who’s coming temporarily unglued. Check out the video, then keep reading to find out why your Standard Poodle might be acting unhinged, too.

Why Standard Poodles Have a Wild Phase @quinnieminnieminnieThe criminal element started young with this one. #poodle #puppy #dog #criminal #standardpoodle
♬ original sound - Mimic And CoFrankie’s wild antics are emblematic of Standard Poodles. Highly intelligent and capable of forming deep bonds with their humans, Standard Poodles are known to have more docile personalities than Miniature or Toy Poodles, which often act more tightly wound. However, Standard Poodle puppies go through a frisky phase, which often settles down after the pup is 2 to 3 years old.
Highly intelligent breeds like Standard Poodles need consistent mental stimulation, or they can turn to destructive behaviors. This breed is also athletic and sometimes takes on clownlike behavior to entertain their humans.
Frankie may look unhinged, but he might actually just be putting on a show. Though judging by his wild behavior, it’s safe to assume life with Frankie is always entertaining.

Adorable Dog Refuses to Sleep Without This Tiny Ritual First
Every night, right before sleep, it likely happens with your dog. There's no chaos and no noise. Just a tiny ritual your dog does night after night before you both go to sleep.
And in the case of one dog on Reddit, some gentle nibbling is involved in their bedtime routine.
As we see in a video shared on social media platform Reddit, Kevin the Chihuahua likes to nibble and lick his parent's hand before sleep. You can see how gentle and patient he is, almost as if his nibbling is a way of communication—like he is saying good night.
You can tell Kevin loves routine and small rituals. For him, his nighttime routine of nibbling and licking his parent’s hand has a calming effect.
And like many dogs, he thrives on predictability. Routine isn’t just helpful; it’s stabilizing. Feeding times, walks, bedtime. These patterns reduce anxiety and help dogs understand what comes next.
Kevin's nighttime routine goes beyond structure. It is an emotional anchor. That gentle nibble is a behavior tied to comfort, connection and the transition to rest.

How Are Fans Reacting to It?Kevin’s mom explained that he is two years old and that he rarely gets rough when playing. She says he is gentle with biting and really enjoys gently sucking her hand before he settles in for the night.
Fans loved the interaction between Kevin and his mom, commenting things like, “That means he loves you” and “He trusts you completely! It’s a great feeling!”
Kevin is not the only dog with a strange habit like this one. Another fan wrote, “When my Bernese mix was young she refused to sleep until she could put her mouth in my thumb and nibble before falling asleep.”
How to Build a Calming Nighttime RoutineIf your dog struggles to settle at night, routine is your best tool.
Keep bedtime consistent. Lower stimulation at least an hour before sleep. Dim lights, reduce noise and avoid high-energy play.
Like Kevin’s parent, introduce a small, repeatable action. This can be a short cuddle or a quiet command. Over time, your dog will start associating that pattern with rest.
Dogs crave predictability. A consistent evening routine reduces canine anxiety and can even help with behavioral issues during the day.
Bonding time serves multiple purposes, including emotional regulation, physical health and sensory connection. If your dog has a strange bedtime habit, embrace it.
Whether it is a nibble like Kevin’s or just a heavy sigh as they lean against your legs, these moments lay the foundation for a secure and loving relationship with your furry companion. Think of it as your dog’s way of saying that as long as you are there, they are safe to close their eyes and rest.

Adorable Duckling Zoomies Are What Every Workday Demands

The ducklings also live with a Norwegian Elkhound named Freya, who seems to understand that "they are not chicken tenders." I wonder how they all seem to live in harmony together (so far)?
Slow and SteadyExperts say that if you’re trying to get dogs and ducks to coexist peacefully, the best strategy is: don’t rush it.
Start slow and controlled. Early introductions should always be supervised, with your dog on a leash so you can gauge their reaction without things escalating. You’re looking for calm curiosity—not lunging, chasing, or full “this is a moving squeaky toy” energy.
Training matters here. Solid basics like “sit,” “stay,” and especially “leave it” go a long way in helping your dog understand that ducks are not part of the entertainment lineup. Reward calm behavior generously so your dog starts associating ducks with “I chill, I get treats.”
It’s also important to give the ducks a safe space—somewhere they can retreat where the dog can’t follow. That way, they’re not constantly stressed, and your dog learns boundaries.
Breed and temperament play a role, too. Dogs with strong prey drives may need extra time (we're looking at you, Freya), structure, and supervision. Some dogs will never be fully trustworthy around ducks, and that’s okay—management is still a win.

Super Fluffy Newfoundland Puppy Looks Like Chewbacca Melted Into a Teddy Bear
Puppies are adorable fur babies that often resemble giant clouds of fluff or stuffed animals. Certain breeds have that plushie look in excess. Bernese Mountain Dogs, Chow Chows, and Pomeranians are prime examples of puppies with that extra floof factor.
Copper the Newfoundland puppy is still just a baby and his puffy fur coat gives him a likeness to a teddy bear stuffie mixed with a beloved Star Wars character.
@copperthenewfOhhhhhhhh okay so he’s a teenager now? 😍😩😂
♬ Rivers and Roads - The Head And The HeartCopper was just lying on the floor, minding his own business and looking over-the-top adorable in the TikTok from @copperthenewf. The precious puppy was like a ball of pure chocolate brown fluff with two eyes peeking out. Copper clearly had the soft cuddliness of a teddy bear, combined with a sort of pint-sized Chewbacca lookalike.
The pup could be mistaken for a plushie version of the Star Wars Wookiee warrior with that tousled yet spikey lush fur and gentle eyes that seemed to stare through your soul. His head shape exuded total Chewy vibes, with a sweet, laid-back look on his face that made you want to run in for a snuggle. His oversized paws just added to his irresistible cuteness.
Despite his undeniable appeal, Copper may be getting a bit of a 'tude as he gets older. "This 2-week change is criminal," the onscreen text read, hinting at some sass, with the caption adding, "Ohhh okay so he’s a teenager now?"
Regardless, followers were smitten with the fluffy fur baby and couldn't resist posting their praise.
"I just want to snuggle this fluff nugget!" someone remarked.
"How on earth could he possibly get any cuter!" another declared.
"Can confirm the large floofs enter a sassy period," a follower pointed out.
How Big Are Newfoundlands At Adulthood?Copper won't be this small forever and will actually get significantly larger with each passing month.
Male Newfoundlands weigh up to 150 pounds at adulthood, and stand at approximately 28 inches tall. Females tip the scales between 100 to 120 pounds, with their height measuring at about 24 to 26 inches.
