Maine Coon Cat's Crystal-Clear Blue Eyes Have People Asking If He's Real
Many of our fur babies have features that stand out. My Dachshund has adorable floppy ears that she can move into some hilarious positions. Her Pug brother has the cutest little walk that looks more like a hop, making people smile when we pass by. Other dogs are remarkably big or small, have head-turning fur patterns, or possess a distinctive bark.
Hudson the Maine Coon cat has a beautiful, lush coat, but it's his ice-blue eyes that would make anyone do a double-take.

♬ original sound - HudsonThe TikTok from @hudson.the.coon featured the pretty kitty roaming around his house. Hudson's flowing and luxuriously fluffy coat was trademark Maine Coon, with soft, shaggy waves highlighted with black, gray, and gold stripes. His high-pointed ears and thick mane around his neck gave him a powerful, majestic look.
As stunning as his silky fur appeared, Hudson's eyes were true showstoppers. The luminous color looked like it was developed in a Crayola factory. Icy-blue like glaciers, the shade made a beautiful contrast against his lush coat.
Hudson's eyes have to be seen to be believed, though followers questioned if a filter was being used.
"How is Hudson real? Wow!" one posted.
"Is there a filter?! Does he really have those color eyes?! He’s so beautiful!" another exclaimed.
"He looks like a tiger and a lion in mini size," a follower noted.
"All that baby would have to do is look at me and I would immediately give in," someone remarked.
"Oh you're sooooo beautiful... and those blue eyes," a fan raved.
Maine Coon Cats Have Large EyesThis beautiful feline breed is known for its iconic coat and vividly colored eyes. Maine Coons tend to have larger eyes than other cats. The round shape makes them appear wide-eyed and alert most of the time. Other breeds have more almond-shaped or oval eyes.

200-Pound Mastiff's Funny Way of 'Trapping' His Brother Is the Definition of Unbothered
A 200-pound English Mastiff named Benny is making viewers laugh with his nonchalant way of “trapping” his big brother, Bowser, in the bathroom. He lies across the doorway, just chilling like an unbothered king, while Bowser whines from inside, asking to pass. Even though the older, gentle giant could have easily stepped over or even on Benny, the helpless pup stayed put until his human coaxed Benny to move.
Their mom admits that "Benny can be a brat" sometimes, but Bowser needs to learn to stand up for himself. Although this isn't the first time the enormous dog has gotten himself into a pickle. It seems that Bowser's size works against him in small spaces: in this other TikTok, he can't seem to figure out how to put it in reverse to get out of the same bathroom (and turning around doesn't seem to be an option!).
@bowserthemastiffBenny can be a brat and a he can also be a good boy/brother. #bigdogs #funnydogvideos #fyp #dogsoftiktok #dogrescue
♬ Funny - Gold-TigerA viewer who seems to know the pair says, "Bowser is the gentlest giant there is."
I find something particularly endearing about a super-sized breed (like the Great Dane and the Newfoundland) that is also so sweet and tender. For Mastiffs, however, it's especially notable since they were reportedly used in ancient Rome to fight lions for entertainment in the Colosseum.

Big Ole SoftiesMastiffs are the definition of a gentle giant — massive, powerful dogs with surprisingly placid, affectionate personalities. Often weighing well over 120 pounds (and sometimes over 200, like Bowser), these loyal companions are known for being calm, protective, and deeply devoted to their families.
Despite their size, Mastiffs are actually pretty low-key. They don’t need endless activity and can even adapt to apartment living, as long as they get regular walks and daily movement. That said, their sheer size comes with practical considerations — think space for that sweeping tail (and time to teach them to navigate smaller rooms!). And yes, the drool is real.
Historically bred in England as guard dogs, modern Mastiffs are much more mellow, though their protective instincts are still very much intact. With proper training and early socialization, they tend to be patient, steady, and great with families, especially older kids.
Care-wise, they’re relatively low-maintenance in the grooming department thanks to their short coat, but they do require consistent training, moderate exercise, and close attention to health. Like many giant breeds, Mastiffs are prone to issues like joint problems, and they typically have shorter lifespans.
If you’re prepared for the size (and the slobber), a Mastiff will reward you with loyalty, calm companionship, and a whole lot of love in a very big package.

Baby Coming From the Hospital Meeting Greyhound Siblings Will Make Your Day
Bringing your baby home from the hospital for the first time is special, exciting, and maybe a little nerve-wracking.
One thing that can stress some people out is introducing their new tiny family member to their existing family members, especially their dogs.
But in this sweet video from the account @laurenwiltse, a couple is seen driving home from the hospital with their new bundle of joy in a car seat in the backseat.
Then they come into the house, and you see their two beautiful Greyhounds waiting excitedly behind a dog gate, excited to meet their new sibling.
Their mom wrote in the caption, "The moment we waited 9 months for."
With the dogs behind the gate, their dad lets them check out the baby, still in the car seat. They gently smell him.
Then the video cuts to the mom holding the baby and the pups sniffing him more, still from behind the gate.
Finally, in the next clip, Dad is seen on the couch holding the newborn with one of the dogs lying their head on Dad's lap.
Then there is some more gentle sniffing, and finally a shot of a baby sleeping on the bed as the tan Greyhound looks at him sweetly while also lying down.
That introduction could not have gone better! Their mom wrote in the caption, "Besties in the making 🐶👶🏼 our newborn meeting our pups was a moment we talked about since day 1 of being pregnant 🥹."

♬ You've Got a Friend in Me - From "Toy Story"/Soundtrack Version - Randy Newman How To Introduce Your Dog to Your BabyIntroducing your dog to your new baby is a very important step.
There are certain things you can start doing before the baby comes to make it easier for your dog, you, and your newborn to adjust to this new life.
First, you can let them become familiar with all the new things that will be in your house for the new baby, like the crib, bassinet, and stroller.
Once the baby is born, bring home a blanket or something that smells like the little one from the hospital for the dog to smell. They need to smell the baby so they understand them.
When you do bring the newborn home, first greet the dog without the baby, especially if you have been gone for a while. Make the pup feel special and loved because they are!
Then have one person in charge of the dog and one in charge of the baby.
If the pup gets anxious, don't punish them; just move the dog into another room and comfort them.
Never leave the baby and dog unsupervised. According to PetMD, use gates, pens, and safe spaces to make sure the pooch and the baby are separated unless you are there to watch them.

Pit Bull’s Flabbergasted Face Says It All When Mom Uses Her Squeaky Ball for Workout
Dogs can be a bit territorial when it comes to their toys. My Dachshund and my Pug mix both love their plushies and prefer you ask permission if you want to play with them. If you happen to take one of their toys without their consent, they let you know in no uncertain terms that they expect you to return it ASAP. Neither of my fur babies is ever aggressive about it, but the expression on their faces speaks volumes.

Dog Suddenly Not Eating? Vets Explains What To Do
If your dog is usually first in line for a meal and races to the food bowl at dinnertime, a sudden decrease in appetite or refusal to eat can be worrying for pet parents. While skipping a meal occasionally isn’t always a cause for alarm, a sudden or persistent loss of appetite can sometimes signal an underlying problem that warrants a veterinary exam. So, if you've ever had this happen and have wondered, "Why is my dog not eating?" keep reading because veterinarians explain what to do when your dog suddenly loses its appetie, below.
“Generally speaking, dogs love to eat, so when their appetite noticeably decreases, it usually indicates they’re not feeling good,” says Dr. Jordyn Zoul, a Georgia-based veterinarian and vet advisor to Spot & Tango.
From minor digestive issues and stress to dental pain or illness, a dog may lose interest in food for several reasons. Below, veterinarians explain the most common causes of canine appetite loss, the symptoms pet owners should watch for and when it’s time to seek medical care. That way, you'll feel more prepared on what steps you should take if your dog is refusing meals.

Why Did My Dog Suddenly Stop Eating? A dog looking at its food bowl and not eating.Getty Images Oscar Wong

According to Dr. Lauren Tseng, director of veterinary outreach at JustFoodForDogs, sudden appetite changes in dogs can stem from a broad spectrum of causes and there can be several common causes of appetite loss in dogs. “On the less urgent end, a lack of appetite may be caused by environmental stress of anxiety, dietary transitions, overfeeding or selective eating patterns towards a more palatable food option,” she explains.
Emotional stress can affect appetit more than many owners realize and be a reason why your dog won’t eat. “Changes such as moving homes, introducing a new pet, loud environments or disruptions in routine may cause dogs to temporarily lose interest in food,” says Dr. Amir Nazari, lead veterinary partner at CityVet Chevy Case. “Separation from family members or unfamiliar surroundings can also play a role.”
Zoul adds that some dogs learn to hold out for tastier options, such as wet food over plain kibble. “While it looks like the dog has a decreased appetite, they might actually just be training his owner to give him the good stuff,” she advises.
When to Worry If Your Dog Won’t EatHowever, appetite loss can also be the first visible sign of an underlying medical condition. Tseng says this may include severe dental disease, gastrointestinal upset or systemic illness, all of which warrant closer evaluation by a veterinarian. “Older dogs may also experience changes in appetite as they age,” Nazari explains.
Certain medications can also reduce appetite. “Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications and some pain medications may cause nausea or stomach discomfort,” he continues. “If your dog stops eating shortly after starting a new medication, it’s important to notify your veterinarian.”
Related: This Simple Vet-Approved Dental Routine Could Save Your Dog's Life
What To Do if Your Dog Won’t EatIf your dog misses a meal or two but remains bright, alert and behaviorally normal, Tseng says close observation is often a reasonable first step. “A single skipped meal in an otherwise healthy dog is rarely cause for immediate concern, unless this is far from their normal behavior,” she explains.
When appetite changes suddenly, it’s always worth checking the food for freshness or recent ingredient changes, Nazari recommends. Spoiled food or changes in formula can cause dogs to turn away from their meals.
“If the dog is still bright, alert and energetic with a good attitude, we might have a simple upset stomach that can be treated supportively,” Zoul says. Nazari adds that viral infections or minor digestive irritation can also cause nausea and a temporary loss of appetite.
Appetite loss can also becomes a clinical concern when it appears alongside additional symptoms. Tseng recommends seeking veterinary attention immediately if your dog also experiences:
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Lethargy or marked weakness
- Abdominal distension, or sudden bloating
- Rapid or significant weight loss
- Labored breathing
“If there’s any suspicion of toxin ingestion or foreign object consumption, don’t wait and contact your veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately,” Tseng says.
Puppies, senior dogs and pets with existing health problems should be evaluated sooner. “Their bodies can become weaker more quickly when they stop eating,” Nazari says.
How To Encourage a Dog To Start Eating AgainIf your dog appears otherwise healthy and has only missed one or two meals, a few simple steps may help restore their appetite. First, try offering a bland diet to help dogs with mild digestive upset. “Boiled chicken without seasoning mixed with plain white rice is often well-tolerated and appealing,” Nazari says. “Once appetite returns and symptoms improve, slowly transition back to their regular food.”
Keeping fresh water available is also key. “Hydration is especially important if a dog has been vomiting or experiencing diarrhea,” he says. “Ensure clean water is always available and refill bowls regularly.”
Maintaining a consistent feeding routine can also help dogs get back on track. “Dogs respond well to routine,” Nazari explains. “Feeding meals at consistent times each day helps regulate appetite. Too many snacks or table scraps between meals can reduce interest in regular food.”
Finally, try to minimize stress. “Providing a calm, quiet environment can help anxious dogs regain their appetite,” he adds. “Sometimes simply returning to a normal routine helps appetite recover.”
How Long Can a Dog Go Without Eating? If your dog continues refusing food, not eating, or shows a loss of appetite for more than 48 hours, or develops additional symptoms such as lethargy, vomiting, or changes in behavior, a veterinary exam is strongly recommended.
“Changes in appetite happen occasionally and are not always a cause for alarm,” Nazari says. “But when a dog refuses food for several days or shows other concerning signs, it’s important to investigate the cause. Early attention often leads to faster recovery and better results.”

English Bulldog Is Mom's 'Little Shadow' and She Literally Can't Turn Around
Coming home to a sweet dog who's thrilled to see you? Absolutely amazing. Having a beloved dog who follows you to the bathroom, the kitchen, back to the couch, and literally everywhere you go? That's Kevin the English Bulldog's velcro specialty.
There's a TikTok video where Kevin's mom explains her situation, and it's hilariously relatable to anyone with a velcro dog of any size and shape.
The caption reads "Our little shadow, 🩶" which is putting it mildly based on what mom's describing in the video.
@kev.thebulldogOur little shadow 🩶 #englishbulldog #bulldogs #britishbulldog #englishbulldogs #bulldogpuppy
♬ original sound - Denita 🤪🩷Her explanation: "Do y'all have one of these? Honey, it don't leave me alone if I'm walking around in the house. It's attached to my leg, walking with me. Sometimes I can't even turn around because her head's in the crack of my ass."
That's unconditional love and loyalty from Kevin right there.
The video demonstrates exactly what mom means. Kevin in the car? He’s right next to mom. Mom sitting down? Kevin's in her lap getting petted. Mom just existing in the house? Kevin is always right by her side. Wherever Mom goes, so does Kevin.
There's no place he'd rather be than wherever she is. He maintains zero personal space and maximum human proximity at all times.
Fans and fellow bulldog parents immediately identified with the situation.

"I have a Velcro baby!!" wrote someone dealing with the same consequences of their life choices.
"I have one & he's always right next to me💓" confirmed another English Bulldog parent.
"They are the best little friend," captured why nobody's actually complaining about this behavior.
"Mine is stalking me 🤣" summed up the entire Velcro dog experience.
English Bulldogs Are Born Velcro Dogs Who Bond Deeply With Their HumansHere's why Kevin's Velcro antics make complete sense: English Bulldogs are companion dogs through and through. They were bred specifically to be close to people, not to work independently or hunt on their own.
Dogs are pack animals. According to experts, when we adopt them, we become their pack. In all honesty, when Kevin follows his mom everywhere she goes, he's just doing what feels natural—staying with his pack.
English Bulldogs are known to pick one person in the home, and that person is the center of their entire world. Usually, it's whoever feeds them, walks them, and spends the most time with them.

Some dogs exhibit velcro dog behavior because they've learned it gets them rewarded. Every time they stick close to their humans and get love, treats, or attention, they're learning that this behavior works. The attention reinforces their reasoning for sticking so close.
But there's a difference between being a velcro dog and having actual separation anxiety. Velcro dogs prefer to be near you because they crave that attention. Dogs with actual separation anxiety absolutely panic when you leave their line of sight. Kevin seems perfectly happy and stable—this little guy just wants to be as close to his mom as possible.
Kevin's mom not being able to turn around without tripping over him? That's peak English Bulldog behavior. They simply do not understand personal space because to them, being close to you is the entire point of their existence.
Is it inconvenient having your bulldog under your feet? Definitely. Would she trade any of it? Based on that caption and video, absolutely not.
Kevin's her little shadow. Honestly, we should all be so lucky.
Walmart's $11 Pet-Safe Spray Helps Prevent Scratching and Biting
Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
In no particular order, I think the three things that I hate the most (not counting Florida drivers) are sneezing, yawning, and scratching.
All three are self-explanatory, but the latter can cause real harm if you let bad habits -- like scratching and clawing -- set in early in your pets' lives.
If you want to protect your BFF and your furniture from unnecessary damage, Walmart is currently running an $11 flash sale on the TUHIMO anti-scratch pet spray, and pet parents should consider the purchase. I mean, it says "No scratching & biting" right on the bottle.
3 Quick Things to Know- The Herbal formula spray is designed to prevent furry friends from scratching themselves, but it also helps keep furniture from getting destroyed. That is good news, seeing as my pup Winnie now enjoys scratching the couch, especially when she gets excited.
- This spray is designed to last over a 24-hour period, though buyers are suggested to spray 3–4 times a day for the first two weeks.
- The 120 ml bottle is currently 11% off its usual retail price.
Courtesy of Walmart
Shop ItThis anti-scratch pet spray holds a 4.5-star rating on Walmart’s website. Nearly 80% of shoppers have left a perfect 5-star rating.
You may also be glad to know there are few concerns or complaints about the smell, which is a necessity when choosing a spray or shampoo.
The Bottom Line: If you enjoy scratching yourself, all the power to you. All I know is that if I do not like scratching, then I see no reason to make Winnie go through it. Remember: Not only would you be protecting your pet, but you would be saving your furniture, clothes, and anything around your house from claws and teeth.

Mom Puts Her Cats in an Aquarium and It’s Weirdly Genius
Cats have a special talent for turning the most random household objects into their favorite sleeping spots. Cardboard boxes, laundry baskets, and freshly folded towels are all fair game.
But one cat mom may have accidentally discovered the most creative cat bed of all time when she turned an old fish tank into a cozy cat chill lounge.
@indieskye01So cute.😊#cattok#fyp#cat#litter#litterbox#petpivot#AutoScooper#petpivotfamily#petpivotcattok
♬ original sound - indieskye01The surprisingly genius idea was shared on the TikTok account @indieskye01. In the video, the cat mom explains that the whole setup started when her in-laws gave her an old fish tank they no longer wanted.
At first, she tried turning it into a terrarium.
That plan did not exactly work out.
Related: Orange Cat and Bearded Dragon Are the Most Chaotic Besties
“So a while back, my in-laws gave me this old fish tank they were going to get rid of, and originally I had made it into a terrarium,” she explains in the video. “But I just killed all the plants in it.”
So she came up with a new idea.
“I just made it into a cat display case, and I have to say, it is the best decision I have ever made.”
Inside the aquarium, she added blankets and toys, turning the tank into a cozy little sleeping nook. In the clip, an Orange Cat is completely relaxed inside the tank, curled up for a nap like it's the most normal thing in the world.
Later in the video, a gray and Tortoiseshell sibling joins the Orange Cat inside the tank, creating what might be the world’s most adorable aquarium exhibit.
The cat mom says the simple setup makes her smile every time she walks by.
“Whenever I walk past, and I just see one of them sleeping in there, it's just the biggest hit of serotonin. 1000 out of 10 would recommend.”
People in the comments immediately ran with the aquarium theme.
“As I live and breathe, it's a purrarium,” one person joked.
Another commenter compared the kitties to something you might see in a pet store display.
“Cosplaying Petco cats.”
Others leaned fully into the fish jokes.
“Those are some nice catfish.”
“You should make them little museum cards.”
“We were promised a terrarium. Guess we got catfished.” Get it?
Some viewers were so inspired that they wanted to try it themselves.
“Running to my garage to dig out my old fish tank right now.”
And of course, someone had questions about the “fish.”
“Where did you get your fish, and what type of fish are they? Do you feed them fish crackers?”
Another commenter suggested adding one more authentic detail.
“Is there a ‘don’t tap on the glass’ sign?”
One person summed up the situation perfectly.
“I love how cats are the solution to everything. Don’t know what to do with an empty box? Cats. Old, weird furniture you don’t use? Cats. Unfolded laundry? Cats. Circular cardboard in frozen pizza? Cats.”
Why Do Cats Love Sleeping in Small Spaces? Cat sitting in a cardboard box.Image Via: AKMAL DAHLAN/Shutterstock
Cats naturally seek out small enclosed spaces because they make kitties feel safe and secure. In the wild, tight hiding spots help cats avoid predators while also allowing them to watch their surroundings without being easily seen.
This instinct carries over to domestic cats, which is why they often choose boxes, baskets, and other snug spots for naps.
Small spaces also help cats conserve body heat and relax more deeply, since fewer directions need to be monitored for potential threats.
So while sleeping inside a fish tank might look unusual to humans, to a kitty, it probably just feels like the perfect little hideout.
And in this case, it just happens to double as the most entertaining “cat exhibit” in the house.

Good News for Cats: Shelter Euthanasia Has Dropped Nearly 75 Percent in the Past Decade
If you needed a little good news today, this might be it, especially if you’re a cat person.
According to new data released by Best Friends Animal Society, the number of cats euthanized in shelters has dropped by nearly 75 percent over the past decade. This marks a major shift in animal welfare and is giving advocates something to genuinely celebrate.
🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾
The data, collected from more than 10,000 shelters across the country, also shows that 2025 marked a record-high save rate for cats.
"A 75 percent decrease in the number of cats unnecessarily dying in shelters simply because they don't have a safe place to call home is something I want to shout from the rooftops," said Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society, in a press release.

What’s Driving the Change? That kind of progress didn't happen overnight, though, and it didn’t happen by chance. Animal welfare experts point to a few key reasons behind the dramatic improvement, and they’re all things everyday people have played a role in.
- Community cat programs have made a major impact. These programs focus on humanely trapping, spaying or neutering, vaccinating and returning healthy outdoor cats to where they were found. Over the past decade, the number of cats safely returned to their outdoor homes has surged, helping reduce overcrowding in shelters.
- Kitten foster programs have also been a game-changer. Kittens make up nearly half of all cats entering shelters, and they require round-the-clock care to survive. Foster volunteers step in to raise these tiny, vulnerable babies at home, freeing up shelter space and dramatically improving survival rates.
- More people adopting cats, especially Gen Z.Cat adoptions have climbed by about 20 percent over the last 10 years, with younger adopters leading the charge. (Yes, your cat-obsessed TikTok feed is apparently doing some real-world good.) Check out one heart-warming adoption story below!
According to Best Friends Animal Society, ten years ago, a cat getting out of the shelter alive was basically a coin flip. Today, they're being saved at history-making levels.
As encouraging as this progress is, the story isn’t over yet. Best Friends Animal Society says that 188,000 cats were euthanized in U.S. shelters in 2024—a number advocates are working hard to bring down even further.
And with “kitten season” underway—the time of year when shelters see a surge of newborn kittens—support from the public is especially important right now.
How You Can HelpIf you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is your sign.
Simple actions can make a real difference:
- Adopting a cat from a shelter or rescue instead of buying one from a breeder
- Fostering kittens (even short-term helps!)
- Volunteering at a local shelter
- Donating pet supplies to shelters and rescues—or contributing financially to support their work
- Sharing adoptable pets online
- Volunteering with local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs
The bottom line: progress is happening, and it’s happening because people are showing up for cats in bigger ways than ever before.
If the past decade is any indication, the future for shelter cats is looking a whole lot brighter.
Dachshund's Mom Helps Her Strengthen Her Core in the Cutest (and Most Delicious) Way
We all need to make time to better our physical health, and if we can incorporate a sweet treat into that workout, the better it will be!
That is exactly what we see happening in this new video from @itsmejanetbark featuring a gray dapple Mini Dachshund named Janet.
In the video, we see her mom sticking a board onto the fridge that's presumably covered in peanut butter.
Then she gets Janet a Pilates block and has her step onto it with her two front legs.
Now it's time for the workout, as little Janet will extend her core and lick the treat-filled board, which is a strength-building activity and also delicious!
In the caption, her mom writes, "POV: You're strengthening your core because apparently back problems run in the family."
Well, this will certainly help with that! What a clever idea!
@itsmejanetbarkPreventative care, ya know? 💪🏽 #dogsoftiktok #minidachshund #dachshundsoftiktok #ivdd #fyp
♬ Tchaikovsky "Dance of the Reed Flutes"(1257471) - kzy Why Do Dachshunds Get IVDD?This is not Janet's first experience with the Pilates block, as in another recent video, she has her on the block working for treats again.
Her mom writes in the caption on that video, "Daily exercises because IVDD is unfortunately common in Dachshunds. Their long backs put extra stress on their spines, so I try to do everything I can to keep her core strong and support her back. So obviously, we do Pilates."
Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is a degenerative disease in which the spinal discs in a Dachshund's vertebrae bulge or burst.
This then impacts the spinal cord and puts pressure on the spinal nerves.
Symptoms of IVDD include difficulty walking, pain, nerve damage, and at its worst, lower-body paralysis.
IVDD can be latent for years, as it is a gradual degenerative disease.
Then, when there is an acute injury to the spinal cord space, these symptoms come about.
The activities that can cause injuries that can trigger IVDD symptoms include jumping on and off furniture and going up and down stairs.
Dachshunds usually develop IVDD between the ages of 3 and 6 years old.
Other dog breeds susceptible to developing IVDD include:
- Bassett Hounds
- Beagles
- Bulldogs
- Corgis
- Cocker Spaniels
- Pekingese
- Poodles
- Shih-Tzus

Cockatoo Checks on Mom While She Fake Naps, and He's 'Literally the Sweetest'
I wasn't aware until seeing this video of Casper the Cockatoo checking on his "sleeping" mom that birds could be so tender. But that's just what his mom wanted us to know about her "sweet baby" when she pretended to lie down for a nap with the camera rolling. She starts the clip by announcing her plans to Casper and quickly gets under the covers and closes her eyes. The curious bird waddles into frame to make sure she's all tucked in. He asks, "You asleep, baby?" and gives her a goodnight kiss. Once Casper confirms she's asleep, the cutie quietly walks away to let her slumber.
I agree with the viewer who commented that "the best part is knowing that he's repeating things that he's been told. He's clearly...so loved at home."
@casperthetooHe is literally the sweetest #birdsoftiktok #fyp #talkingbird #trending #animal
♬ original sound - casperthetooOther fans joke that he's only checking on his mom so he can go make mischief while she's out.
"He’s tucked you in so he can go pick the buttons off the remote or casually destroy the tip of your shoes," says one.
"Making sure you’re asleep so he can call all his friends to come over," laughs another.
Either way, it's evident that Casper loves his mama and receives plenty of sweet messaging at home. The gentle questions, the kisses, the preening. Seems like these two are living the dream.

Is a Cockatoo For You?Casper and his affectionate behavior make life with a Cockatoo seem idyllic, but no pet is an angel all the time. Cockatoos are undeniably charming — big, expressive parrots known for their playful personalities and strong bonds with their people — but they’re also a serious long-term commitment. With lifespans that can stretch up to 70 years in captivity, bringing one home is less like adopting a pet and more like adding a very opinionated roommate.
These highly social birds thrive on interaction and mental stimulation, which makes them wonderful companions for the right person — but challenging for anyone who isn’t prepared to meet their needs. Cockatoos require a balanced diet (not just seeds), a large, secure cage, daily enrichment through toys and play, and regular vet care to stay healthy.
They’re also known for being loud (very loud) and prone to behavioral issues like separation anxiety or feather plucking if they’re bored or overly dependent on their humans. Their affectionate nature is part of the appeal, but it also means they don’t do well being left alone for long stretches.
If you’re considering one, adoption is often encouraged, as many cockatoos are rehomed due to their noise level and care demands. The bottom line: cockatoos can be incredibly loving, intelligent pets, as we can clearly see thanks to Casper— but they’re best suited for people who are ready to commit to them for the long haul.

Senior Golden Retriever Adopted Just in Time—and It’s Making Everyone Emotional
Some rescue stories stick with you, and Gus’s is one of them.
In a post shared to Reddit’s r/goldenretrievers community, a person explained that they pulled a scruffy, senior golden retriever named Gus from a rural shelter in heartbreaking condition. The adopter explained that Gus, estimated to be around 7 or 8 years old, was severely underweight, had bald patches and was battling multiple health issues, including giardia and Addison’s disease.
“All I knew was that he looked awful and I couldn't leave him,” the adopter wrote.

The situation was more urgent than anyone initially realized. After bringing Gus home and immediately taking him to a veterinarian, the vet confirmed just how serious his condition was.
“My vet said one or two more days and he would have died from Addisonian crisis,” the adopter explained.
That narrow window makes his rescue feel nothing short of life-saving.
Despite the challenges—and the cost of care, which the adopter says has been significant—there was never any regret.

The Little Wins That Mean EverythingOver the past month, Gus has been slowly learning how to be a dog again, and it’s the small milestones that have made the biggest impact.
His adopter shared a list of “firsts,” each one more meaningful than the last:
- A full week of solid digestion after treatment
- Learning to walk up stairs smoothly instead of one step at a time
- Figuring out the dog door (even if it’s still a work in progress)
- Lifting his leg to pee
- Climbing onto the couch for the first time
Individually, they may seem like ordinary moments. But for Gus, they represent healing, comfort and a fresh start. “Seeing these unremarkable moments that are truly remarkable brings me such joy,” the adopter wrote.
Internet Falls in Love With “The Gussiest Gus”It didn’t take long for people online to fall head over heels for Gus.
One person wrote in the comment section, “Please tell fuzzy Gus I love him. Is there a waiting list to hug Gus because I want to join it.”
Another joked, “Gus is my new #1 ranked dog in the latest Internet golden retriever polls.”
Someone else commented on his fitting name. "I don’t think any name could suit him better. Hey Gus, nice to meet you buddy," to which the adopter replied "Exactly what I thought when I looked at him. The Gussiest Gus to walk the land!"
And perhaps the pup’s most enthusiastic fan added, “I would sell my husband for a chance to sit in the same room as Gus.” Honestly, same.
A Reminder About Senior DogsGus’s story is a powerful reminder that senior dogs, especially those with medical needs, are often overlooked, despite having so much love to give.
Thanks to one person who simply couldn’t walk away, Gus now gets to enjoy comfort, care and the kind of life every dog deserves.
And judging by the additional photos shared in the comments—full of couch cuddles and happy walks—he’s truly making the most of every moment.

Golden Retriever 'Rehashes' His Vet Appointment Like a Dramatic King
Like many dogs, my fur babies dread going to the vet. Both of them get nervous the second I pull into the parking lot. My Pug mix literally plants his tush down and refuses to move, so I have to carry him into the office. His senior Dachshund sister shakes uncontrollably before we even get in the door. Afterwards, they both collapse in exhaustion on the ride home and try to forget what they've endured.
Mac the Golden Retriever obviously prefers to process his feelings with his parents after his vet appointment, and he gave them an earful.

The gorgeous Golden spent the day at the vet and had plenty to say about the visit. Mac started the story with some emotional whines, expressing how distressing the experience was for him.
"It wasn't fun?" his dad listened and validated Mac's feelings. "That's not fun."
The precious pooch's mom heard the stress in Mac's voice and sought out more information.
"Did they trim your nails?" she asked, as Mac gave her a pained look. "Yeah, you didn't like that, did you? I know."
Then the fur baby's dad brought up injections, which really set Mac off.
"And then they gave you shots, too? A couple of shots," his dad remarked as Mac barked in belated protest and put his front legs on the floor. He gave his dad some more details. "They took blood?"
"You didn't like any of it, did you?" Mac's mom sympathized.
Post-Visit Prescription: 'Treats and Belly Rubs'Followers felt that Mac deserved some loving comfort and tasty rewards after such a harrowing day.
"Group therapy is vital after a vet appointment," one remarked.
"I think a cheeseburger is in order for all the fur angel had to go through," another suggested.

Sweet Cat Experiences Snow for the First Time Thanks to Loving Owner
Cats love to explore, but sometimes they are limited to an indoor life if you choose to have an indoor-only cat. These cats spend their entire lives inside the walls of an apartment or house, so pet parents have to find other ways to provide mental enrichment and physical activity. Well, one cat posted to Reddit got the experience of a lifetime.
Jack the cat watched snow through the window for his entire life. This year, with the snowstorm hitting the United States, he finally got to experience it firsthand. The cat had never felt snow before, so his owner brought the winter snow to him.
In a simple but thoughtful gesture, his pet parent scooped up fresh snow from outside and brought it inside for the cat to investigate. As we can see in the video posted on the social media platform Reddit, the reaction is immediate: curious paws, cautious sniffs, then playful taps as the cold, unfamiliar texture starts to make sense.
Jack can’t go outside, brought the snow inside for himby u/Mdmaguire in aww
For a cat that cannot go outside, this is more than enrichment. This cat is experiencing something they would otherwise never be able to.

What Are Fans Saying About It?As the cat parent said, this was the first time Jack saw snow besides looking at it through the window. In the comments, they also explained that he is an indoor cat that loves to play.
Fans love the interaction, and commented on how Jack is happy to have an owner take good care of him, saying, “That’s hilarious. It also appears you threw at least 2-3 snowballs against the wall and had your own fun,” “Awwww he loved it! Thanks for giving your kitty a nice treat,” and “Awww that's a really sweet gift for kitty.”
One fan had a suggestion for how to improve the game. They said, “I’ve been doing this for years! Pro tip, if you can, brew cat nip like tea and dribble it in the snow for extra crazies.”
Can Cats Tolerate Snow?Cats can tolerate snow for short periods of time (between five and 15 minutes) because their bodies aren't built for longer cold exposure. Being outside for a prolonged period can cause hypothermia or frostbite during winter days.
Yes, cats are curious. They would love to play on different surfaces, but they do not like wet, freezing texture. During winter, it is best that cat parents of indoor-outdoor cats limit outdoor time. Keep the excursions very brief, and make sure to check their paw pads afterward for ice or snow damage.
Why Some Cats Must Stay IndoorsThe decision to keep a cat indoors is often a matter of safety and health. Statistics from the American Veterinary Medical Association suggest that indoor cats live significantly longer lives. They are protected from vehicles, predators and infectious diseases like feline leukemia.
At the same time, an indoor life can become stagnant without effort from pet owners. Cats, like dogs, need mental stimulation and physical activity. Jack’s owner understands that while Jack stays inside for his own protection, he still has the instincts of his wild ancestors. They brought the outdoor fun in for Jack to enjoy in a memorable way.

Bougie Ragdoll Cat's First Time Trying Sashimi Is Too Funny
When we think of rich people, we might think of fancy cars, big houses, designer bags... And cats who eat sashimi. However, realistically, any cat could try a little sashimi! You should definitely be careful, though... They might develop some seriously expensive taste!
One Ragdoll cat recently got her first taste of sashimi, and it seems like it went over pretty well. Her mom definitely has a little bit of trouble ahead, because this kitty is about to develop some expensive tastes:
@ziggyandmochi ♬ original sound - Ziggy & Mochi🩶🧡Ziggy and Mochi both got to try a little bit of the sashimi, and both of them seemed to have loved it! It was salmon. Personally, I don't think I would do this with my cat if I had one, mostly because I know they'd go on a hunger strike until I got them more!
Related: Ragdoll Kittens’ Adorable ‘Cuddle Fest’ Could Heal Any Heart
Ziggy and Mochi are brothers, though they're technically 3 months apart; Ziggy came first. Apparently, he was so awesome that his mom needed another one immediately. That does mean she has to give out double portions of sashimi, but it's a small price to pay! She's trying to win Ziggy over:
@ziggyandmochiunconditional love where #ragdollcat
♬ Mozart/Requiem "Lacrimosa"(1394506) - MintYou'd think getting fed sashimi would help her cause, but he's a tough nut to crack. As the caption of that video says, he's definitely a "conditional love" type of cat!"
Should You Feed Cats Raw Fish?Sashimi is raw, sushi-grade fish. It's something that a lot of humans refuse to eat, but cats? They'd gobble it up in a second if given the chance!
Bicolor Ragdoll lying on the floor.Image via Shutterstock / Peredniankina
Raw fish is not good for cats in large amounts or when fed to them frequently. It contains an enzyme that can cause Vitamin B1 deficiency, and raw fish that's gone bad can cause severe stomach upset. Plus, certain varieties are a little too fatty. A little is totally fine, though!
Make sure not to feed cats fish that's:
- Visibly discolored.
- Been sitting out for a while.
- Smelling a little weird.
- Not from a source you trust.
Basically, if you wouldn't eat that piece of fish, don't give it to your cat. Luckily, Ziggy and Mochi's mom would never!

Sweet Cat Makes a New Best Friend, and Their Bond Is Truly Heartwarming
While popular culture often paints dogs as a child’s best friend, cats also seek out the company of the youngest family members. While they do not perform affection on demand, they do give trust you cannot force. Their love is selective, deliberate and earned.
A bond between a cat and a child is special, and a recent video posted on Reddit proves just that. The video shows a young girl coming close to a cat, petting him and then walking him. The cat in the video could have walked away at any moment. Instead, he stayed right beside the girl, like he had already decided that young girl was his person.
The Best of FriendsIn the video shared to Reddit, we see a young girl approaching a cat named Uno on the street. The cat is on a leash, and the girl wants to know his name. After learning his name, she says, "This is now my new friend." The girl then hugs the cat and walks him. In the end, they each go their separate ways. The girl gives him another hug, and tells him bye.
There is no tension between the two, no resistance, just pure love. The interaction doesn’t feel like a pet being handled. It feels like a true friendship.
Related: Sweet Cat Finally Gets a New Best Friend After Heartbreaking Loss
What Are Fans Saying About It?Most fans were surprised how calm and patient Uno was. They said, “This cat knows how to handle his fans with grace and aplomb. The little one also doing really well,” “Uno is a scholar and a gentleman,” and “Both her and uno were so sweet!”
One fan noticed something every cat parent knows. The commenter said, “Wow. I thought no cat would ever tolerate having their whiskers pulled at, even gently." In this video, Uno is the perfect gentleman, handling every pet (and whisker pull) in a calm and peaceful way.
Cats and Kids Can Be FriendsDogs get most of the credit when it comes to being “family pets,” but cats are often overlooked in this conversation. Some cats understand children and are extra tolerant. Studies have shown that cats be very affectionate to young children and teenagers.
When properly socialized, cats can be best friends with children. Socialization is important for cats to react to the voice of children, and it can take some patience and a trial and error period. When the interaction feels safe, they lean into the love, so don't get discouraged if it takes a bit for a cat to warm up to a child.

Walking a Cat Is No Longer UnusualA few years ago, the idea of walking a cat on a leash felt like a novelty. Now, it is quietly becoming a trend among pet owners who want to safely enrich their indoor cats’ lives.
Harness training allows cats to explore the outdoors without the risks of traffic, predators or getting lost. Leash walks provide controlled exposure to the outside world. Of course, not every cat will take to it, so be sure to read your cat's body language to see if they would like a leash walk.
Cats need gradual training, starting indoors with a harness, then taking short supervised outings. The key is letting the cat set the pace. Just like in the video, the best walks do not look forced. They look like cooperation.

Mastiff Steals a Lollipop Like a Gentleman and It’s Just Too Cute
If you have a food-motivated dog in the house, you know just how tricky it can be to leave out a simple bowl of candy. Even well-mannered pups sometimes just can't resist getting a taste of whatever delicious aroma is drifting through the room.
For Winston, a Dogue de Bordeaux French Mastiff, it appeared he was hoping no one would notice if he quietly snuck just one tiny treat. He was careful. He was slow. He was quiet.
Lucky for us, his mom was recording, because this big dog's precision on a tiny lollipop stick is too cute to miss.
