Golden Retriever Siblings Look Like 'Before and After' Thanks to Muddy Mischief

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 7:20pm

Golden Retrieverbrothers Bauer and Maverick get into their fair share of mischief, but it was Bauer's antics that won the internet this time around. Caught red-handed and absolutely caked in mud, the teenage Golden was playfully scolded by his mom, who "left him alone for two minutes." Bauer ran around the pool carrying what looked like a piece of landscaping material in his mouth, and when questioned by both of his humans, he sat rather proudly while his very clean brother, Maverick, looked – and barked – on. It was a before-and-after shot that any parent of multiple dogs could easily relate to.

Bauer took his lumps like a champ and was told to jump in the pool to wash off. Not exactly a punishment if you ask me, but adorable nonetheless.

@imbluethesiberiann

He should add landscaper to his resume… #dogsoftiktokviral #dogsoftikok #goldenretriever #puppy #dogs

♬ Quirky Suspenseful Indie-Comedy(1115050) - Kenji Ueda

As funny as this video is, the comments are almost more entertaining. Among some of my favorites:

"Oh, you didn't need to clarify that it wasn't Maverick; we knew which one it was."

"There is no shame in Bauer’s game."

"Not a single regret in his brain."

"The CLOUD of darkness that floated up in the water."

"Your pool cleaner deserves a raise!"

With four dogs (two Goldens and two Huskies), this family has its hands – and pool – full.

One Home, Multiple Dogs

Parenting only one pooch, I have zero personal experience managing a multi-dog household. According to this post, written by the mom of seven (!) dogs, living with a pack can feel a little like running a very cute, very chaotic household. It only works when the human understands that no two dogs are exactly alike, even under the same roof.

In a multi-dog home, you’re balancing different personalities, energy levels, and life stages — from high-energy puppies who need constant activity to older dogs who just want a quiet place to nap. Creating harmony comes down to meeting each dog where they are.

Consistency helps set the tone. A predictable routine for meals, walks, and downtime can reduce stress and keep everyone on the same page. Just as important is making time for individual attention, whether that’s a quick walk, a training session, or a few minutes of one-on-one cuddle time.

Giving each dog their own space to retreat is also key, especially for seniors or more sensitive pups who need breaks from the group dynamic. For the more energetic dogs, regular exercise and mental stimulation (think puzzles, play sessions, or even daycare) can make a huge difference in keeping the peace at home.

At the end of the day, a happy multi-dog household is less about perfection and more about paying attention. When you tune into each dog’s needs and adjust accordingly, you create a home where everyone — humans included — can relax a little easier.

But not for too long. Just ask Bauer's mom.

Orange Cats Float in Tupperware During Bubble Bath in Self-Care Perfection

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 6:55pm

As pet parents, we do all kinds of strange things to keep our fur children happy. For instance, one of my three cats likes to play in the sink, so of course, I bought a water fountain that runs like an infinity pool so he can have at it anytime he likes. He's messy and toddler-like, but happy—and that's all that matters!

Peach and Pablo are two Orange Cats truly living their best lives, thanks to a mom who recognized their love of water. Cats aren't usually fans of bubble baths, but these two found a workaround, and they're not only fans, but now they demand it!

@peachandpablo

Now we have 2 sailor kitties 😂💕

♬ Austin Powers Theme (Soul Bossa Nova) - N.Y. Jazz Orchestra

If my water-loving kitty sees this, he's going to ask that I do the same (and I will do it). Peach and Pablo floating in plastic tubs will now be how I think of chilling out with a tube in a lazy river. At first glance, you might think, "They're definitely Orange Cats doing orange things," but I think this feline pair is onto something!

Related: Orange Cat 'Feeling Chaotic' Annoys Napping Sister Like a Typical Little Bro

As one fan appropriately praised, "What cute, little weirdos you have," and that nails it. I'm a big fan of cute, little weirdos—I have three felines, and they're all odd and quirky in their own ways. Though none of them enjoy this type of activity (yet), I assure you, each cat will find something equally as weird!

In case you're wondering how in the world this type of bubble bath event began, or how to teach your kitty to do it, there's a whole tab full of videos showcasing Peach's initial curiosity through to now. Here's the TLDR tub-floating evolution montage!

@peachandpablo

Peaches dreams came true 🧡

♬ sun and moon - mage tears Why Do Some Cats Enjoy Baths?

There's a big difference between bathing a kitty in the tub and letting them relax completely dry while floating in one. Still, the mysterious bathroom seems to be a popular spot for cats for a few reasons.

Hanging out on a cool, smooth surface (like the inside of a tub without water) or resting on a tiled bathroom floor both feel good. It can also be because the bathroom is a space we're in often, and if you know cats, anywhere we are is where they're going!

Some water-loving breeds, like Maine Coons, Siberians, and Ragdolls, enjoy putting their paws in the water or playing in it. Peach and Pablo don't need to explain why they enjoy their Tupperware tub time. If it makes them happy, then Mom's done her job!

Irish Wolfhound Mix Taking Control of His Walk Route Is the Cutest Boss King

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 6:10pm

My dogs love their walks and never want them to end. My Dachshund and my Pug mix will walk slower and stop for extra sniffs to stall for time. They know the route by heart and veer in the other direction when we head toward our house.

Henry the Irish Wolfhound mix often tries to outsmart his mom by blowing past a stop sign in the hopes of prolonging his walk.

@alaynasimone

nothin’s gettin by this guy 😂 #dogsoftiktok #dogs #laughoutloud #funnydogs #sneaky

♬ original sound - alaynasimone

In the TikTok from @alaynasimone, Henry was out for his walk with his mom and enjoying the fresh air. Though he looked like he didn't have a care in the world, Henry had a plan to extend his walk and was about to execute it.

"He knows that if we turn right at the stop sign it means a shorter walk," the onscreen text explained.

Henry saw the stop sign in his peripheral vision and knew he had to act fast in order for his walk to continue. He picked up the pace as he hugged the side wall and broke into a mini-sprint. The clever canine pulled his mom past the sign, hoping she didn't notice the mile marker. As soon as he felt he was in the clear, Henry resumed his normal pace.

"Nothing's getting by this guy," the caption read.

Followers gave props to the precious pooch for his perfectly orchestrated plan and seamlessly carrying it out.

"I love how he tried to get closer to the wall before he started running," one pointed out.

"He thought to himself, 'I was very smooth, good boy'," another remarked.

"Dogs are so smart. That is hysterical. He deserves the long walk after that," a follower raved.

"And wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO NOW NOW NOW," someone joked.

How Much Exercise Do Irish Wolfhounds Need?

These gentle giants require daily exercise to keep them physically and mentally healthy. Approximately 60 to 90 minutes of activity throughout the day is sufficient for your Irish Wolfhound to expend energy and keep their body in shape.

Brisk walks, off-leash play in a dog park or fenced yard, and mentally stimulating games, such as puzzle toys or agility courses, are ideal for this beautiful breed.

Henry obviously prefers long walks!

Rescue Kitten ‘Learning How To Make Biscuits’ Is Pure, Wholesome Goodness

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 5:00pm

Making biscuits is up there with like, unicorns and rainbows, at least for me. They're some of the cutest, easiest mood-boosters out there. Kittens learn to do it and carry it throughout their whole lives! My youngest dog makes biscuits, too, and they're the best!

Maybe second best, second only to this precious little kitten. She's a rescue, and she's only just learning how to make biscuits. Even though she's new to the biscuit game, they're some of the sweetest I've ever seen:

The PNW Cats are two rescues living in the PNW. They spend most of their time together, and they were both rescued, though one was through a shelter, and she got the other one from Craigslist for $10. We rescued my first-ever dog the same exact way, and he lived to be 16!

The one in this video is Lola, and this video is a little bit of a throwback: she's a little bigger now, and a lot better at making biscuits. She likes to exercise her skill wherever she can, including:

  • On her brother, Louie.
  • On her mom.
  • On the furniture.

Whoever is placing all these biscuit orders, please chill out! She's already working overtime at the biscuit factory, after all! When she's not, she's grooming her brother:

She's always got something to do. A busy cat is a happy one, at least!

When Do Cats Learn How to Make Biscuits?

Though we're not sure exactly when Lola was separated from her mother, one thing is clear: the making biscuits instinct had already been perfected. That's something they learn early!

Grey cat cuddling her kitten.

"Biscuit-making," or kneading, isn't a learned behavior: it's an instinctive one. Kittens knead while they nurse, which helps stimulate the flow of breastmilk. In fact, almost all young mammals do it. Even human babies!

They start doing it pretty much as soon as they're born, and even after they're weaned, many cats will continue to make biscuits as a comfort mechanism. They never give it up!

Golden Retriever Finally Accepts His New Puppy Sibling—and Now They’re Besties

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 4:55pm

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting. But for the resident dog, it can feel like their whole world just got flipped upside down.

That was exactly the case for Maui, an adult golden retriever who suddenly found himself sharing his space with a bouncy new golden retriever puppy named Hugo. While Hugo was ready to jump straight into best-friend mode, Maui…not so much.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

In a YouTube Short posted by @Mauithegoldenpup, Maui is seen keeping his distance. He avoids eye contact, ignores Hugo’s attempts to engage and generally acts like the new pup simply doesn't exist. Meanwhile, Hugo—full of that classic puppy enthusiasm—keeps trying to win him over with playful energy and gentle persistence.

The Adjustment Period Was Real

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VYZhfa5lFlw

Just like people, dogs don’t always warm up to new siblings overnight, especially when they’re at completely different life stages.

Maui needed time to adjust to the changing dynamic and Hugo’s constant movement and attention-seeking. And while Hugo meant well, his puppy energy didn’t always land the way he hoped.

At one point, things even got a little chaotic during playtime, with Maui accidentally stampeding Hugo while interacting with another dog.

Related: Sibling Cats Wrestle Like Pros But Are Really Besties in Reality

Hugo Didn’t Give Up

Despite the lukewarm reception, Hugo stayed determined. Instead of pushing too hard, he kept approaching Maui in softer, more relaxed ways, offering cuddles, sticking nearby and slowly building trust.

And eventually, it worked. After about two weeks, something shifted. The two started playing together, and Maui began to let his guard down. Before long, he wasn’t just tolerating Hugo—he was actively engaging with him.

Some might even say Hugo brought out Maui’s inner puppy again.

Now They’re Besties

Once the bond clicked, it really clicked.

The pair are now constantly together—playing, cuddling and moving through life side by side like they’ve been best friends all along. It’s clear they’ve found their rhythm, and it's the kind of transformation that makes the slow start totally worth it.

Maui and Hugo’s story is a reminder that even if a new pet introduction starts off a little rocky, it doesn’t mean it will stay that way. With time and positive interactions, many dogs learn not just to tolerate each other, but to truly enjoy one another’s company.

Sometimes, it just takes a couple of weeks, patience and a very determined puppy to turn strangers into inseparable siblings.

This Bossy German Shepherd’s Morning Routine Is Pure Comedy Gold

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 4:48pm

If you have a German shepherd, you don't need an alarm clock. You have a 70-pound biological computer that knows exactly when the kibble is supposed to hit the bowl.

A German shepherd recently shared on the social media platform Reddit showed that he has one important job when it comes to food: make sure breakfast happens on time. There’s a specific kind of determination in a hungry dog, and this young German shepherd has mastered it. No barking. No waiting. Just a firm, physical reminder that breakfast is not optional.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

While German shepherds are not classified as greedy eaters like Labradors or golden retrievers, they are highly food-motivated dogs.

As working dogs, they were bred to work, respond and complete tasks. For them, food becomes part of the system, part of a consistent routine. So, when they insist on breakfast, it is less about uncontrolled hunger and more about expectation meeting opportunity.

In the video, we see this young German shepherd dragging his mom to the kitchen. He knows it is time for breakfast, and he is ready to start the day.

Related: Wait Until You See This German Shepherd's Heartwarming Shelter Transformation

What Are Fans Saying About It?

The fun part is that there are two dogs in the video, a German shepherd and another dog that's a puppy. However, it's only the German shepherd that's dragging mom to serve breakfast.

Fans had encouraging words for the young dog. They know he is just doing his job, saying things like “Let me show you the way, and move quick” and “I’ll take you.”

Do Dogs Have a Sense of Time?

While dogs do not wear watches, they’re rarely wrong about time, and that doesn’t change with daylight saving.

If your dog starts pacing at exactly 7:58 every morning, you’re not imagining it. Dogs build internal clocks based on circadian rhythms and environmental cues.

That’s why this German shepherd doesn’t just want food. He wants it now, because now is when it always happens.

Related: Dramatic Australian Shepherd Goes From Begging to Battling for Snacks

Is Your Dog the Boss of the House?

Every dog owner recognizes this moment. You’re halfway through something. Coffee isn’t even finished. Then comes the stare, the nudge or, in this case, the full escort service to the kitchen.

While it might feel like you are being bossed around, it is just a routine for your dog—and a routine they don't take lightly. As a pet parent, you help build that routine because for dogs, consistency creates confidence. When meals happen at the same time every day, dogs can look forward to and expect their routine and not be stressed about when food is coming.

And if your dog is a greedy eater, you can try using a slow-feeder bowl to help them slow down when eating or you can try hand feeding your dog. They can also be fed two or three smaller meals throughout the day instead of one large one. Whatever you choose, make sure you are consistent with it. As you can see with the German shepherd in this video, they love a routine, especially when it comes to food.

Newfoundland 'Refuses to Share Grandma' With Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Like a Total Boss

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 4:35pm

We know that Chewie the Newfoundlandadores his grandma, but little did we know just how much. In this amusing video, Chewie barks at Cooper the Cavalier King Charles to keep away from Granny, and the poor little Spaniel is left with no choice. The size difference between them is enormous, and even though Newfies are gentle giants, Cooper isn't taking any chances.

Even though Chewie's mom says to him, "he can see Grandma, too," referring to Cooper, the damage has already been done.

@chewythenewfie

He protects his Grandma always ❤️

♬ Second Chances - Gregory Alan Isakov

"Chewy: 'Absolutely not,'" jokes one viewer.

And as one fan accurately points out, referring to the massive Newfie, "His harness cracks me up. He is so large, and the harness looks like an XS!"

The whole scene is a riot, but where does possessiveness like Chewie's originate?

Related: Black Cat Stealing Mom's Pizza With Zero Regrets Is the Confidence We're Here For

Possessive VS Protective

I've come to learn that possessive aggression in dogs is different than protective aggression. Now, I wouldn't call Chewie's behavior aggressive, but it is still a response rooted in control. My own Mini Labradoodle engages in similar behavior if I show affection toward other dogs, so I was very interested in learning more about her "jealous" side.

While both types of aggression and protective can look similar (think growling, barking, or snapping), the motivation behind them is very different.

Possessive aggression (aka resource guarding) is all about this is mine. It shows up when a dog guards something they value — food, toys, or a favorite spot. It’s rooted in instinct (protecting resources used to be about survival), but it can become a real issue if a dog feels the need to defend those things regularly.

Protective aggression, on the other hand, is more about this is my family.” Dogs displaying this behavior are reacting to what they perceive as a threat — like a stranger approaching, another dog getting too close on a walk, or even unfamiliar environments. It’s often tied to loyalty, but can be amplified by lack of socialization or anxiety.

The good news: both can be managed with the right approach. For resource guarding, it’s about teaching your dog that giving things up leads to better rewards. For protective behavior, the focus shifts to building confidence and positive associations with people, places, and situations that might otherwise feel threatening.

Across the board, the common thread is positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency — not punishment. When dogs feel secure and understand what’s expected of them, the need to guard or protect starts to fade, and everyone, including our pups, can relax a little more.

Cockatoo ‘Sends Mom to Her Room’ Like He’s Her Feathery Parent

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 4:00pm

Birds are so bossy. It doesn't matter what kind of bird you have: they are all just as bossy. There's one stark difference, though: some birds can verbally boss you around. Those are the birds I'm a little scared of!

One Cockatoo definitely showed his mom who's boss. He decided she was misbehaving, and he could not have it. Naturally, he decided he wanted to trap her in her room... And it worked perfectly:

@monkeyseemonkeydoranch

Preston told me I am punished and to stay in my room. #monkeyseemonkeydoranch #funnyanimals #fyp #prestonthecockatoo #fyp

♬ original sound - MonkeySeeMonkeyDoRanch

Preston the Cockatoo would absolutely be able to boss me around. If he told me to go to my room and stay there, there's a very good chance I would never emerge again. He's just scary enough to be someone everyone would listen to!

Preston lives on a larger ranch in Arkansas; there are donkeys, kangaroos, and yes, actual monkeys. However, at Monkey See Monkey Do Ranch, Preston is really the one in charge. He's also the only one who lives inside their house.

Related: Cockatoo Watching 'His Donkeys' Play Is the Best Manager

Preston the Cockatoo Bosses Everyone Around

Preston has learned several phrases over the years. He was given the ability to speak, and he puts that beak to work! Preston's favorite thing to do is give orders in a slightly threatening way. For example, he recently learned to tell people to "shut the front door."

@monkeyseemonkeydoranch

Preston won’t let me get a word in. #monkeyseemonkeydoranch #funnyanimals #fyp #prestonthecockatoo #ranchlife

♬ original sound - MonkeySeeMonkeyDoRanch

Is that a directive, a threat, or a thinly-veiled attempt at swearing? We may never know. At least it's hilarious! When he's not yelling at Mom (or anyone else in the house, for that matter), he's a pretty funny guy!

Cockatoos Can Be Aggressive

Preston's grounding of his mom was all in good fun, but one of the most important things to consider when you're thinking about adopting a Cockatoo is their potential aggression. These birds are sweet, affectionate, and smart, but that can change on a dime.

Cockatoo standing in front of a hole in a tree.

Image via Shutterstock / Ken Griffiths

Cockatoos have a very strong bite force. In addition to the potential for bites, Cockatoos might also scratch or chase you around. They're not necessarily doing it to be mean, though! They might be doing it because they:

  • Feel threatened.
  • Are bored.
  • Are overtired.
  • Are annoyed.

These birds need a delicate balance between somewhere to cool down when needed and somewhere to have fun. Luckily for Preston, grounding his mom actually provided both in one fell swoop!

Fluffy Golden Retriever Gives the Most Offended Face After Being Called 'Chonky'

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 2:55pm

Golden Retrievers are known for being easygoing and happy-go-lucky pups, and they’re happy and smiling through pretty much any situation. We’ve seen that play out time and again in videos online. But even they have their limits.

In this video, we meet a Golden Retriever who has found the limit, and as soon as it becomes known, the cute dog’s whole face changes. Instead of a relaxed expression on his face, he’s fully offended, and it’s secretly hilarious. Take a look at this cute boy!

@thegoldenwafflehouse

♬ original sound - Noah

On March 8, TikToker @thegoldenwafflehouse shared a short video of their beautiful Golden Retriever named Waffles. He was minding his own business and happy in his own world until his parents caught him walking into the kitchen.

In the clip, we don't hear what's happening, but the music is hysterical, given what we're told is happening here. Waffles is chill, doing his thing until he turns his head to the right to look at the person behind the camera. He's mad with a Golden Retriever scowl, which is, honestly, not always easy to come by since they're essentially happy puppies for life.

Related: Golden Retriever Knows He Can Do No Wrong and Fully Leans Into It

They called him "chonky," and it's the cutest, funniest thing. In the comments, people were happy to shower Waffles with love, while laughing, of course.

One person wrote, "Don't listen to them Waffles [you are] perfect."

Another shared, "Aww, Waffles, you look perfect to me," adding a few blue heart emojis at the end.

Other comments included, "Well, just a little," "Such a playful pup," and Waffles' family made sure to reply to everyone with laughing emojis and hearts.

Golden Retrievers Are Known for Their Personalities

Waffles has the most adorable personality, and we can see that shine through not just in this video but in each one posted to their social media. And if you've been around a Golden Retriever or seen one on social media, you'll know their go-getter, happy personality is pretty common with this pup!

According to PetPlan UK, Golden Retrievers are a popular dog breed because they love to have fun, aren't afraid to work hard, and get along with basically anyone and anything. The site explains that these dogs are "naturally intelligent" and that they have a "soft side." But they're also great with kids of all ages, rarely show aggression, and when you add in that they love to cuddle or go on long adventures, these pups are game to do anything and everything.

And, as we see with Waffles, they've got a great personality, too.

They Hate the Cold, So This Pit Bull and Kitty Found the Cutest Fix Together

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 2:48pm

While we often view cats and dogs as natural enemies, when they have a common problem, they may actually try to solve it together. Sometimes, in situations like these, unlikely friendships make perfect sense.

In a recent post shared on the social media platform Reddit, a pit bull and a kitty became the best of friends because they both were looking for the same thing: a warm place in their house. Pit bulls have a thin single coat and very little body fat to insulate them, and cats do not tolerate cold, giving both of them a reason to snuggle together.

My pittie and kitty hate the cold so they are always snuggling by the heater together 😅❤️
by u/KT9121 in aww

We may call this pairing unlikely, but dogs and cats share more things in common than we give them credit for. Both read body language perfectly, respond to tone, and seek out warmth and safety. In this case, the pittie and the kitty hate the cold so much, that they are always snuggling by the heater together.

As their mom explained, while they have beds and couches, they can lay on at any time, they enjoy the heat coming from the vent. They also have a heated blanket on the couches, but the heater is where they spend most of their time.

What looks like pure sweetness is also practical. Animals conserve heat by reducing exposed surface area and sharing body warmth. It’s the same principle penguins use when they huddle in extreme cold.

What Are Fans Saying About It?

Some fans talked about how they could use some heated beds or something similar, but as their mom explained, Coco, the bluenose pittie, and Emmy, the cat, have plenty of beds and blankets around the house for them to use. They just love spending time at the vent.

Many fans also commented on how cute the two look together, saying, “Coco's face in the 2nd pic makes me 🥺. they both look so sweet! my russian blue hates the cold as well and spends her winters close to the heaters."

Another person said, "I love your pittie/kitty dynamic duo! Please tell them I said so and give them each several pets from me. My girlies could learn a few things from yours."

What Short-Coat Dogs Need in Winter

A warm cuddle buddy helps, but it’s not the full solution. If you live somewhere with real winters, short-coated dogs need a bit more support.

A well-fitted dog coat isn’t a fashion statement; it reduces heat loss during walks. Indoor warmth matters too, especially for dogs that like to nap near drafts or on tile floors. Elevated beds, blankets and access to warm spots make a measurable difference in comfort.

It is easy to tell a dog is cold because they will start shivering. They’ll curl tighter, hesitate at the door or seek contact more than usual.

Seeing this pit bull and kitty cuddling together shows what a dynamic duo a dog and cat can make when they both have the same goal: being as cozy as possible.

Jolly Bernese Mountain Dog's Morning Ritual With Mom Is the Sweetest

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 12:55pm

I'm a firm believer that nearly every hard or challenging thing in life can be cured by having a dog. They have a way of making us feel like the most important beings in the universe. They don't really have bad days, and when we do, you can bet they'll be right there to cheer us up.

Binky, the Bernese Mountain Dog, lives up to all of this and then some. The sweet princess pup gets so excited to see Mom every morning that she can't contain her excitement. Channeling all the puppy energy from a thousand lifetimes means that Mom's going to have a good day—because no one can be sad around a jolly girl like Binky!

@thegoldenboysfredandrocs

I need to go back to bed after all that 🤣🤣🤣 #goldenretriever #bernesemountaindog #happydogs #dogloversoftiktok #fyppppppp

♬ original sound - TheGoldenBoysFredandRocs

This is what I think heaven looks like—happy dogs, sunshine, and fresh air! On my grumpiest mornings, it's my two dogs and their palpable thrill of seeing me that instantly lifts me up, and I suspect Binky does the same for her family. The Bernese Mountain Dog is full of life—just happy to be alive and surrounded by her humans—and that's really beautiful if you think about it.

Sweet Binky is the newest addition to the crew, joining her Golden Retriever brother, Rocco. Her older pup brother, Fred, passed, so Binky is helping fill in that massive void he left. I couldn't possibly be in a bad mood with an angel like Binky around! Although, I think Sir Rocco has mixed feelings, depending on the day!

@thegoldenboysfredandrocs

A totally predictable outcome - Binky’s FOMO lost her the battle 🤣🤣🤣 #goldenretriever #bernesemountaindog #dogloversoftiktok #funnydogs #fyppppppp

♬ original sound - TheGoldenBoysFredandRocs Do Bernese Mountain Dogs Have a Lot of Energy?

Binky is still a young one, so her energy levels are a bit higher than an older pup like Rocco. Bernese Mountain Dogs are considered to have a moderate energy level once they get past puppyhood. They eventually settle into a more mature, loyal, and calm that can sometimes lean more on the "lazy side!"

Like many pups, Binky loves playing and going on hikes in the woods. As long as she's getting 30 to 60 minutes of dedicated exercise a day, she's not in Mom's face as much. However rambunctious she is at times, she sure is a ray of sunshine on any cloudy day!

Montana Airbnb Complete With Mini Highland Cows Might Be Our Idea of Heaven

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 11:31am

Beautiful location? Check. Cozy farmhouse? Check. Nuzzles from two utterly adorable Mini Highland cows ANYTIME I WANT? Sign me up! If this Airbnb isn't the dreamiest spot for a nature-filled vacation, then I don't know what is. It's like a little slice of Scotland right here in the U.S., no passport required.

Saint Agnes Farmhouse is located in Whitefish, MT, a modest drive from gorgeous Glacier National Park. The chalet-style farmhouse sleeps eight guests and is open year-round, as are the "coos," Betty and Judy, for continual cuddles. The stunningly picturesque property also includes a second rental, Casa Alpina, and a Scottish Blackface sheep named Freya. Whitefish is only 60 miles from the Canadian border and boasts activities like hiking, boating, and fishing, as well as nearby skiing in the winter. The only remaining question is how much are tickets to Montana?

View this post on Instagram

The post is flooded with questions about whether one can visit the cows for the day (yes!) and if the property is available for weddings (unfortunately, no). But just about all of the comments go a little something like this one:

"Omg 🙌 hold on, we’re packing our bags!"

Wait for me!

Scottish Cows in Montana?

The Montana Rockies are actually an ideal place for Highland cows because they are the mirror image of the species' native Scottish Highlands. The mountainous terrain and cold, snowy winters are no match for Highland cows' thick, double-layered coats, which are specifically adapted to thrive in these harsh climates.

Miniature Highland cows, however, are the kind of animals that make you do a double-take — part farm animal, part walking stuffed toy. These small, hardy cattle are a downsized version of the traditional Highland cow, also bred to withstand the rugged conditions of the Scottish Highlands.

Despite their cozy, shaggy appearance, they’re surprisingly tough. Mini Highland cows can handle both cold winters and warmer weather, as long as they have proper shelter, shade, and water. But what really sets them apart is their temperament — they’re known for being calm, gentle, and even affectionate, which is why they’re becoming increasingly popular as companion animals – and as wonderful roommates at Airbnbs!

Physically, they’re compact but still substantial, typically standing around 36 to 42 inches tall and weighing between 500 and 700 pounds. Their signature look includes a long, fluffy coat (ranging from wavy to curly), a variety of earthy colors, and those iconic sweeping horns.

Betty, Judy, and friends may be mini, but they still bring plenty of personality — and plenty of people – to their yard.

Black Cat Gets the ‘Spooky Ookies’ and Immediately Starts Backing It Up

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 11:20am

Every cat has their weird little quirks. Some chatter at birds. Some knock things off tables like tiny chaotic landlords. And then there are the ones who, for no reason whatsoever, suddenly transform into a haunted Halloween decoration.

This Black Cat didn't just get spooked. He got the full-blown “spooky ookies” and immediately chose violence… but like, backwards.

@zoerohlen

#catsoftiktok #funny #cat #kitten #kitty

♬ original sound - Seyram Parku

The absolutely unhinged video uploaded to the @zoerohlen TikTok account shows a Black Cat puffing up, backing that booty up in reverse, and generally behaving like he is possessed by a Victorian ghost with unfinished business.

At one point, he sort of crouches with his tail up, fur completely fluffed, looking like a haunted feather duster that just came to life.

Related: Mom Puts Her Cats in an Aquarium and It’s Weirdly Genius

The caption says it all.

“How do I explain this to the cat sitter?”

Honestly, you don’t. You just let them experience it and hope they don’t move out.

The comments were immediately on the same chaotic wavelength.

“He’s gonna crab walk over to you, a*s first. Don’t panic.”

“He gets the spooky ookies.”

“He sometimes goes italic, and Oh it’s Crab o' Clock.”

One person described it in a way that feels medically accurate.

“He might scoot in cursive at you. You’ll know when you see it.”

Another pointed out the obvious seasonal vibes.

“He occasionally hits the Halloween pose.”

Yes. This cat is not walking. He is performing.

And I swear every kitty has a version of this. When Meatball was a kitten, he would puff up his fur, turn sideways, and sprint across the room like a tiny, possessed accordion. We called it his Halloween hop, and it would happen at random intervals, like his brain briefly disconnected from reality.

Which is exactly what is happening here.

Why Cats Puff up Their Fur Tiny kitten hissing.

Image Via: De Jongh Photography/Shutterstock

When a cat puffs up their fur, also known as piloerection, it is usually a response to feeling startled, threatened, or overstimulated. By making themselves look bigger, they are trying to appear more intimidating to whatever has offended them, even if that “threat” is literally a dust particle or their own shadow.

This behavior is often paired with sideways movement, an arched back, and that signature crab walk that makes them look like they are glitching.

In many cases, especially in playful or indoor cats, it's not true fear but more of an adrenaline spike or playful instinct kicking in.

So while it looks dramatic, and honestly a little supernatural, it is usually just your kitty having a moment.

A very weird, very theatrical moment.

And if yours has never backed it up in full spooky ookies mode… just wait.

Los Angeles Community Left Heartbroken After Beloved Neighborhood Mama Bear Euthanized

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 11:10am

Some wildlife stories do not just make headlines; they leave a whole neighborhood grieving. That is what happened in Monrovia, where residents had been closely following the fate of a well-known mama Bear and her two cubs after a woman was scratched while walking her dog. At first, people were waiting on DNA results and hoping for an outcome that might let the bear live, whether through relocation or sanctuary placement. Instead, the news that the mother bear had been euthanized landed like a heartbreak across the community.

The TikTok caption captured the tension many neighbors were feeling: officials said the mother likely reacted because she believed her cubs were threatened, and experts noted that bear attacks on humans are extremely rare. That framing mattered to people because it made this feel less like a “dangerous animal” story and more like a mother doing what mothers do in the wild, protecting her young. One commenter wrote, “Awe, momma bear was just trying her best 😭,” and that simple line says a lot about why so many people connected with her.

@nbcla

A Monrovia community is mourning after a mama bear was euthanized for attacking a woman over the weekend. Wildlife officials say DNA test results confirmed this was her second attack in the area, deeming her to be a threat to public safety. Neighbors even started an online petition to try and save her. They’re heartbroken because they watched her grow up and wish more could have been done to keep the mama with her babies. #nbcla

♬ original sound - NBC Los Angeles

According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and local reporting, DNA testing linked the bear not only to the March 2026 incident involving the woman in Monrovia but also to a 2025 incident in which an elderly man was clawed on his porch. Officials said that repeat aggressive encounters led them to classify the animal as a public safety threat, and the bear was euthanized after being captured. Her two cubs were taken to a rehabilitation facility, with plans for eventual release back into the wild.

In Monrovia, this bear was not just “a bear.” She was part of the neighborhood’s rhythm. Residents tracked sightings, shared updates, and saw her as one of the familiar wild lives that shaped the foothill community. Reports described public outcry, disappointment from local officials, and neighbors mourning what felt like the loss of a local presence they had learned to coexist with, even imperfectly.

View this post on Instagram

That grief feels especially heavy because two truths can exist at once: human safety matters, and people can still be devastated by the loss of an animal they believed was acting out of instinct, not malice. In a place where wildlife and neighborhoods overlap more and more, stories like this force communities to sit inside that uncomfortable space. And sometimes there is no ending that feels fully right, only one that leaves people wishing the system had offered a different path.

Coexistence Takes More Than Good Intentions

This story is a painful reminder that living near wildlife requires more than affection for the animals we share space with. It takes education, secured trash, careful pet management, awareness on walks, and real community planning before a crisis happens. The City of Monrovia said the cubs are healthy and were moved to a facility where they can eventually be returned to wildland areas.

Honestly, that mama bear was just trying to raise her babies, and her story became a heartbreaking reminder of how hard it can be when wildlife and human lives collide.

Big Maine Coon Cat Steals Kitten’s Treat Like Taking Candy From a Baby

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 11:00am

Just because one cat is full-grown and the other is still little, absolutely does not mean they're going to take it easy on them. In fact, it often means exactly the opposite: kittens are easier to manipulate!

One Maine Coon is definitely taking full advantage of the family's new kitten: smaller limbs, slower reflexes, and plenty of opportunities to steal his treats, literally like taking candy from a baby:

@the_maine_coonies_

The Maine Coonies are no strangers to kittens in their home! Their mom fosters cats and kittens frequently, including this boy. Usually, they're very gracious hosts... Until treats come out. When there are treats involved, you can bet that Casper doesn't play.

Related: Maine Coon Cat ‘Finds His Soul Kitten’ in Precious Moment

Casper is usually the one who spends the most time with the foster kittens: it's his job to entice the rest of his siblings to come and play, too. She fosters kittens often, though she has never foster-failed!

The kittens that come through her home are so well-loved and cared for! The cats are always sad to say goodbye... Mostly because it means fewer treats. Treats are an important part of training kittens and getting them ready for their forever homes! There's a new foster kitten now, luckily:

It'll take a few days, but I know he'll get better once the treats start coming out. That's just how this goes!

Do Cats Bully Kittens?

When a kitten comes into your home, whether permanently or as a foster, it's vital that you only allow supervised "visits" between them and any resident cats you may have. It won't be forever, but it keeps everyone safe in the short term.

Maine Coon cat with a Siamese kitten.

Cats don't always bully kittens, but it's a serious possibility. Kittens are often very energetic and take up a lot of your time, which can set them off. Bullying can look like:

  • Shoving.
  • Swatting.
  • Biting.
  • Hissing/growling.

If you notice bullying behavior, especially around food, make sure you separate the cat and the kitten. Give them separate spaces to cool down, eat, and try again later!

Fashion Magazine for Dogs Being Sued by 'Vogue' Publisher and Pup Lovers Are Calling for Justice

Thu, 03/19/2026 - 10:43am

I will always be the first to admit that anything that's done based on humans would only be made 100% better if it focused on dogs instead. For the proof, you have to look no further than the Puppy Bowl. It's a lot more adorable (and less stressful) to root for your favorite puppies running around their own football field than watching the actual Super Bowl.

This is also true of fashion magazines, including Dogue, the tongue-in-cheek, dog-themed version of cultural mainstay Vogue that features stylish canines instead of humans. There's just one problem: The magazine is being sued for copying the original. Yikes!

@cbseveningnews

Dogue, a small fashion magazine just for dogs, is being sued by Condé Nast, the parent company of the magazine with a very similar name – Vogue. #dogs #vogue #dogsoftiktok #dog #magazine

♬ original sound - CBSEveningNews

According to this report that CBS' Evening News shared on the outlet's official TikTok, Condé Nast (the media company that owns Vogue) is coming out swinging against Dogue, the unaffiliated magazine about dogs, because they're concerned that the names being so similar could cause consumer confusion.

Then, there's also the fact that Vogue occasionally releases special edition issues focused on celebrity dogs that they call Dogue, so that might be the final nail in the coffin for the newer dog-centric mag.

This seems to be a case of the big fish going after the small fish, because Dogue's total circulation is under 100 — who is getting the two magazines confused with such a small readership? However, it doesn't sound like Dogue's editor in chief, Olga Portnaya, is willing to go down without a fight.

“Art and culture have always evolved through reinterpretation and dialogue,” she told the New York Times. “For me, this is a larger fight: I’m not just fighting for my own work and our community, but for other independent creators.”

People Have Strong Feelings About the Vogue/Dogue Lawsuit

The comments of CBS' TikTok video about the lawsuit made it clear that most people are taking Dogue's side on this one. While some people can see how Vogue has a case to be made here, others are just glad that a dog-related version of a fashion magazine actually exists in the first place.

"The real question is… how can I subscribe to DOGUE?!" one commenter wrote.

Another chimed in, "Vogue is just jealous that Dogue has better models." (Probably true.)

Good luck to Dogue in this battle. It sounds like they have a lot of support behind them, if nothing else.
