Staffordshire Terrier Mix Helps Mom Feed the Fish and Takes the Job Seriously

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 10:10am

Certain breeds known as "working dogs" love to have a job. Border Collies, German Shepherds, and Bernese Mountain Dogs are examples of canines that thrive when assigned a task. Even if it's a small responsibility, they make sure they get the job done.

Dunkin the Staffordshire Terrier mix is quite a competent canine in many areas, including lending a paw when it's meal time for the family's fish.

@haleyandthepets

dunkin loves help feeding his fishy friends. although, on the days they get fed their frozen shrimp, he tends to not enjoy it as much because there’s less for him to retrieve and help with. he always enjoys watching them eat though #foryou #foryoupage #viral #dunkindadawg #dogs

♬ Beyond the Sea (From "Finding Nemo") - Geek Music

In the TikTok from @haleyandthepets, Dunkin's mom asked for his help on a daily task involving other family pets.

"Wanna feed the fish?" she asked. "Where's the food?"

Dunkin immediately snapped to attention and was ready to get to work. They both went over to where the fish food was kept. Dunkin's mom asked for certain items, and Dunkin quickly grabbed them with his mouth and placed them in her hands. The dedicated dog knew the names of each food label and correctly selected them on the first try. They worked together like a well-oiled machine.

The Staffordshire Terrier mix jumped on his special chair to supervise his mom feeding the fish to make sure everything was evenly distributed. His commitment to quality control was quite impressive.

Dunkin Runs a Tight Ship

Though his mom did a great job making sure one tank was tended to, Dunkin had to remind her that another group of fish still needed feeding. He barked a quick directive to his mom to stay on top of the situation.

Dunkin's mom suggested that he get the other food supply rather than waiting for her to do everything. Once again, he was happy to help and quickly retrieved the bag. The precious pooch watched in delight as the fish enjoyed their meal.

At one point, Dunkin felt they deserved more sustenance. He kindly requested she provide extra, so his mom pretended to feed the fish again to appease him. The canine cutie even grabbed his Lego aquarium to show the fish how he loves marine life.

Dunkin did his job effectively and with a positive attitude. He sets a wonderful example for dogs and humans!

3 Giant Orange Cats All Curled up Form the Perfect Pod and It's a Sight

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 9:20am

Orange Cats are known for many things, but sleeping in perfect pods all in a row with other big Orange Cats may not be one of them.

However, that is exactly what is happening in this new video from @thetangerinetriplets featuring three giant Orange Cats who could not be cuter as they sleep in a perfect line.

It is almost as if they are forming one large, beautiful, and fluffy orange totem pole.

These three kitties, whose names we don't know, all form perfect orange loaves and are all facing different directions.

The comments, as you can imagine, were quite funny.

One person wrote, "Where is this bakery located? I'd like a loaf."

Another wrote, "Orange Cat tree," and then another said, "We need a guide for telling which is which."

Finally, one person just shared a picture of three loaves of bread in comparison.

If you love Orange Cat content, then you should definitely check out this account, as it gives you triple the footage.

These cats love to loaf around (literally), play with lots of toys, and just stare longingly at their mom.

Why Are Orange Cats Considered To Be Wild?

You may have heard some things about Orange Cats, mostly that they tend to be a bit wild.

Why is this? Well, there are a few reasons.

First of all, according to pet adoption statistics, Orange Cats are usually male, which may be why they tend to be more adventurous and spirited when compared to females.

They also tend to be more energetic, playful, and vocal than other kitty types.

They also seem to be very confident.

Some so-called "crazy" Orange Cat behavior includes climbing to a spot they can’t get down from, lying all over furniture, lapping at the air, and even launching themselves at unexplainable heights.

Clearly, lying with their siblings in perfect loaf shapes is also another hobby!

Baby Cockatiel 'Crashing Out' When He Spots Mom Is the Cutest 'Velociraptor'

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 8:20am

If you've never had a hungry, screaming baby in your house, let me sum up what it's like: Sleep is a luxury you daydream about, their needs are the priority for a good while, and you might not remember the last time you washed your hair. Sometimes, this applies to a young pet, too.

Just ask @_veronicafaith whose new baby Cockatiel has the most dramatic reaction every time he spots her. She calls it crashing out, but I say it's just another day in paradise—I mean parenthood!

@_veronicafaith

I swear this one just demands food a 24/7 😭😭😭😭😭 when do I get some love 😫 #cockatiel #bird #birds #birdsoftiktok

♬ original sound - _veronicafaith

First of all, I'm obsessed with the absolute theatrics this little guy has perfected in his short time. He's cute as can be, whether he's screaming his head off for food or screaming his head off for Mom's attention!

His big bird sister Cody stands idly by as "the good one" and the one Mom often retreats to when she needs a breather from all things demanding baby (who doesn't have a name just yet).

Related: Cockatoo Returning Home After 4 Months Is the Happiest Boy in the World

I'm sure the little guy will settle as he grows, but for now, he's living up to the "baby" stereotype. He's clingy, needy, loud, and doesn't give a flying fluff what Mom's up to, as long as she quickly gets to him and gives him what he wants. I feel for you, Mama!

@_veronicafaith

Full Crop and still acting 🦖😂 #cockatiel #bird #birds #birdsoftiktok

♬ original sound - _veronicafaith How Long Do Baby Cockatiels Need To be Hand-Fed?

The tiny Cockatiel joined the crew on March 2, which means there are a lot more weeks of tending to his needs. Experts suggest hand-feeing these birds until somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks when they're fully weaned. Although, some birds might need TLC for 8 or more months (yikes)!

With no magic number or timeframe that fits all baby birds' needs, the real answer comes from what they're able to eat on their own. Transition away from formula when the bird's eating solid foods on a regular basis, and when they're able to maintain their weight that way, that's how you know the hand-feeding game is done.

In the meantime, might I suggest Mom grab her AirPods and crank up her favorite playlist when little baby is being extra for no reason other than he can!

Maine Coon Kitten Falls Over in Harness—Now She Wears It Like a Pro

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 7:55am

If you have ever tried putting a harness on a cat for the first time, you probably already know what’s about to happen. The dramatic flop. The confused stare. The sudden inability to walk like a normal creature.

One tiny Maine Coon kitten named Nala had that exact reaction the first time she tried wearing a harness.

@nalatheorangecoon

Oh my goodness, the drama. She hated it. #mainecoon #catsoftiktok #mainecoonsoftiktok

♬ BIRDS OF A FEATHER - Billie Eilish

TikToker @nalatheorangecoon shared the funny clip showing Nala’s full harness-training journey. In the first part of the video, the tiny orange Maine Coon tries on her harness for the very first time.

And immediately falls over. My cat Meatball did the same exact thing.

Related: Tabby Maine Coon Kitten Was Born With the Sweetest Little Ghost Face

The little kitten looks completely betrayed by the situation, lying dramatically on the floor like she has forgotten how legs work.

The caption in the video says it all: “This is your sign to stick to harness training. Oh my goodness, the drama, she hated it.”

But the video doesn’t stop there. As Nala grows bigger, she slowly becomes more comfortable with the harness. Eventually, she’s confidently walking around in it like she’s been doing it her entire life.

Viewers in the comments completely related to the early harness struggle.

“My cat did the same thing with a sweater,” one person wrote.

Another commenter laughed at how tiny she was in the beginning. “She was so tiny.”

Others shared their own success stories with patient training.

“Congrats! We helped our cat learn with plenty of patience and treats, and always giving her a safe spot to return to.”

And that’s really the key to the whole process.

Why Your Cat Needs To Wear a Harness Outside Cute kitten in the grass with a harness on.

Image via Shutterstock/Abi's Photos

Kitties love exploring outdoors, but letting them roam freely can be dangerous. Cars, predators, neighborhood dogs, and getting lost are all very real risks for outdoor cats.

Harness training allows cats to experience the outside world safely while still staying close to their humans. It gives them mental stimulation, fresh air, and new smells to investigate without the dangers that come with wandering on their own.

Maine Coons in particular often take well to leash training because they are curious, social, and very playful. Many of them enjoy walks and outdoor adventures once they get used to wearing a harness.

Of course, the beginning can include everything from refusing to walk to jumping around like a maniac.

But if Nala’s journey proves anything, it’s that even the most dramatic kitten can eventually grow into a confident little explorer with a bit of patience and practice.

Cat Lovingly Petting Feline Sibling Is the Sweetest Thing We've Seen All Week

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 7:22am

Every now and then, a video comes along that does not just make you smile, it makes you stop everything and feel something. That is exactly what happens in this incredibly tender TikTok featuring Bentley and Beau. The clip is short, simple, and impossibly sweet, but somehow it says so much about comfort, affection, and the quiet ways animals show love. Honestly, I had tears in my eyes watching it, and I do not think I am the only one.

The moment begins with the kind of softness you almost cannot believe was caught on camera. One cat gently reaches out and gives the other a tiny little pet before leaning in for kisses. The caption says, “The little pet before the kisses 😭,” and that really is the perfect way to describe it. It is not just adorable, it is deeply tender. There is something about that one tiny gesture, that little paw resting so gently, that makes the whole video feel extra special.

@bent_and_beau

The little pet before the kisses 😭😭😭😭😭 #cats #catsoftiktok #fyp #foryoupage #catdad

♬ original sound - Vids - Aesira

The person who posted it knew exactly what they had captured too. Their caption reads, “I think I just captured the sweetest moment on camera.” I would have to agree. Bentley and Beau are not just being cute for the internet. They look completely safe with each other, completely connected, and totally at ease. It is the kind of moment that reminds you that affection does not always need to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes love looks like a soft paw, a nuzzle, and a few gentle kisses between siblings.

And clearly, viewers are feeling it too. One comment says, “Needed this 🥹,” and that feels like the universal response. The world can be noisy, stressful, and heavy, and then along come two cats having the gentlest little interaction imaginable, and suddenly everything feels a bit lighter. Bentley and Beau have a lot of videos, and I can absolutely see why people keep coming back for more. When animals share this kind of trust and sweetness, it reaches right through the screen.

What makes the clip so unforgettable is how genuine it feels. Nothing forced, nothing staged, just one loving feline sibling reaching out to another in the most delicate way possible. It is pure comfort in cat form, and truly one of the sweetest things I have seen all week. Bentley and Beau did not just win over the internet; they basically turned TikTok into one giant group hug with whiskers.

Let the Soft Moments Count

Videos like this are a good reminder that the smallest gestures can completely shift the mood of your day. A gentle touch, a quiet moment, a little affection between two animals who trust each other, it all lands because it feels real. When life feels loud or heavy, it genuinely helps to pause for things that soften you instead of rushing past them.

According to ASPCA pet care resources, paying attention to animal behavior can help people better understand how pets show comfort, trust, and connection, and moments like this are a beautiful example of that. If a sweet clip like Bentley and Beau’s makes you tear up a little, that probably just means your heart is still working exactly like it should.

Sometimes, emotional support arrives covered in fur and acting more emotionally available than half the people in your contacts.

Golden Retriever Puppy's Daily Beef With the Trash Can Is Pure Comedy Gold

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 7:10am

Puppies are adorable in dozens of ways. From their floofy coats to their oversized paws, every breed of puppy just exudes over-the-top cuteness. These little fur babies also have an insatiable curiosity about the world around them. Watching them navigate everyday things they don't quite understand is pure entertainment.

Stevie the Golden Retriever puppy is a perfect example of this learning curve, where he's trying to figure out the purpose of a trash can in his house.

In the TikTok from @steviethegoldenpup, the canine cutie was having it out with a silver garbage can in the kitchen. Stevie jumped on it and pawed at it, possibly trying to intimidate the inanimate object. The persistent puppy barely took a breath as he battered the metal trash bin.

No reasons were given as to why Stevie had such a beef with the garbage receptacle. He didn't seem like he was trying to get food out of it or move it across the floor. The puppy's issue with the trash can almost seemed personal and it apparently happens every day.

"Time for the daily fight vs. the trash can," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Stevie's number one enemy."

Possible Reasons for Stevie's Outburst

Viewers of the video got a kick out of Stevie's contentious relationship with the trash can, where some theorized on potential motives.

"Bro is mad about this silver robot dog getting all the food scraps," one noted.

"The trash can knows EXACTLY what it did," another stated.

"Dog sees his reflection in said trash can: Why are you making faces at me?!!" a follower pointed out.

"To be fair, I side with Stevie. The can's attitude seems pretty trashy," someone joked.

Nat Geo Animals even weighed in, posting, "Need to know the tea between these two." A follow-up post revealed the start of the bad blood.

7 Signs Your Cat Really Admires You, According to Experts

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 6:10am

Cats don’t land high on the list of animals you can read easily, making it fair to wonder where you stand in your fur baby’s eyes. Do they love you or merely tolerate you because you give them food and a provide them with a litter box? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. To help you out, cat behaviorists reveal 7 sweet signs your cat secretly admires you. That way you won't have to constantly think to yourself, "Does my cat love me?" Instead, you'll be able to read their body language and decode cat affection signs.

After all, your cat won’t come out and tell you that they admire you, which is why pet behaviorists say there are clear signs you have to look for. The only problem is, how cats show love is not as obvious as you’d think. “Cats are masters at body language,” says LeeAnna Buis, certified feline training and behavior specialist at Feline Behavior Solutions. “Every little twitch and shake can tell a story.”

The good news is, once you know what cat behaviors to look out for, you can get a better sense of how your pet really feels about you. “These are behaviors cats do with each other to show comfort and increase bonding,” Buis says. Of course, each cat is an individual, making it hard to say that every feline will throw out the same adoring signals showing they secretly loves you. However, animal behaviorists say that there are common signs cats tend to share when they look up their humans. Below are the ones you should watch for.

They give you a ‘cat kiss’

One of the ways cats show attachment and affection is by talking with their eyes through a slow bink. "When your cat looks at you and gives you a slow, deliberate blink, they're essentially giving you a cat kiss,” says Alison Gerken, DVM, a veterinary behaviorist at the San Francisco SPCA.

She reveals research shows that cats are more likely to slow blink at their pet parents than at strangers. And, when you do this back, they respond with more slow blinking of their own. This is also a signal that your cat feels safe around you, according to Buis. Naturally, cats don’t do this with everyone. "A nervous cat may watch intently, worried about turning their attention away from potential danger,” Buis says. “On the other hand, that soft, slow blink and then glancing away means they're not feeling nervousness or fear.”

They mark their territory, aka you

Why does your cat rub against you? This is called “bunting” and it’s a way for your cat to essentially mark you as theirs. When they do this, it's another way you can tell if your cat likes you. “Cats have scent glands on their face, particularly around their cheeks and forehead,” Gerken explains. “When they bunt you, they're depositing their scent on you, essentially marking you as part of their family group.” In cat social groups, this cat behavior is reserved for preferred companions, Gerken says.

They show you their question mark tail

A surprising way cats show affection is with their tail. When your cat approaches with a high tail curved into a question mark, it’s one of the “signs of feline friendliness and admiration,” Gerken says. “This tail position signals that your cat is happy, confident and genuinely pleased to see you,” she adds. Gerken compares this to the kitty version of a cheerful greeting, menaing that your cat loves you. This can be hard for pet parents to miss, since it's subtle, making it one of the secret ways cats express love.

They want to be in your view

Not all cats are all that into humans. But when your cat follows you from room to room, it’s a sign that they admire you and want to be around you. So, when you notice your cat doing this, it shows they have loving feelings toward you. “Cats are often stereotyped as aloof and independent, but research has shown that cats form genuine attachment bonds with their pet parents, similar to the bonds human children form with their caregivers,” Gerken says. “Following you around is your cat's way of staying connected to their safe person.”

They find and share items with you

Cats have unique ways of showing affection, and sometimes their love and admiration can be surprising. One of the things cats do when they love you is bring you what they consider to be "gifts." So, while it can be admittedly icky when your cat drops a mouse or dead bird at your feet, this behavior is actually a sweet sign your cat admires you. “Bringing you ‘gifts’, even if they're not always pleasant ones, may also be your cat's way of sharing resources with you as part of their family group,” Gerken says. "This is similar to how mother cats bring prey to their kittens and takes care of them."

They are relaxed around you

Cats communicate differently than people do and their body language says a lot. A cat who likes you will show it with a relaxed posture as a result. “This shows they aren't worried or stressed out,” Buis says. “They're enjoying the moment and your company.”

So, if you notice this, know it's a subtle signs your cat cares about you and a sign your cat admires you.

They give you a kitty massage

It’s fair to wonder what’s happening when your pet quickly moves their paws up and down on your body. Are they trying to work out tension or telling you something? It’s the latter. Kneading, also known as  “making biscuits,” is a sweet gesture reserved for loved ones in the feline kingdom. “Kneading you with their paws is a behavior that goes back to kittenhood when kittens knead their mother while nursing,” Gerken says. “When your adult cat kneads you, they're reverting to this.”

7 Dog Stress Signs Hidden in 'Friendly' Behavior

Sun, 03/15/2026 - 5:10am

As a doting pet parent, you love your dog and have the best of intentions when raising your furbaby. However, sometimes that is easier said than done because while its not hard to tell when a person is feeling anxious or uneasy about something that makes them unconfortable or bothers them, it's more tricky to decode when your dog feels stressed, especially when they hide it. To help you understand your dog better, we rounded up 7 ways dogs secretly disguise their stress with 'friendly' behaviors.

"Many pet parents view their dogs as family members—and how could they not? Dogs are labeled as “man's best friend” for a reason," points out Annie-Mae Levy, CFBA, professional dog trainer at Woofz, a puppy and dog training app. "However, as pet parents, people tend to personify their dogs and attach human emotions to their actions, but in many cases, it becomes very easy to misread or misunderstand a dog's behaviors. After all, dogs communicate through body language, which makes it extremely important for dog owners to be able to properly translate what they’re trying to say."

That's why it can be helpful for you to figure out the red flags that your dog's "friendly" behavior is actually a cover-up and they are instead hidden dog stress signs. To learn more about that, see what Levy reveals below so you can figure out how to read your dog's body language. That way, you will no longer miss out on the hidden signs your dog is stressed that you might have otherwise.

Related: 7 Dependable Dog Breeds You Can Always Count On, Say Trainers

Levy reveals that learning to spot the hidden signs your dog is stressed is essential, especially when seemingly friendly behavior may actually indicate anxiety or stress in dogs. Understanding these red flags doesn’t have to feel intimidating. “You’re doing your best, and noticing these cues can help you respond appropriately,” Levy explains. “Recognizing and translating your dog’s body language is one of the best ways to strengthen the human-canine bond, advocate for your dog in stressful situations, and even prevent unwanted behaviors before they happen.”

1. Jumping up to greet people

How can you tell if your dog is stressed? Sometimes how dogs talk to their owners can be confusing so you have to really pay attention to a dog's actions. Even how a dog greets you, can reveal if they are feeling uneasy about something. For example, jumping to say "hello" is often considered a sign that your dog is happy to see you or adores a guest, but that's not always the case. "While this may be true most of the time, it isn’t always an indication of happiness or excitement," Levy explains. "It can also be driven by high arousal or social uncertainty. The dog might be nervous about the interaction, and jumping can defuse some of that stress."

Levy notes that nervous jumping often looks frantic or repetitive. “Dogs may lean away or avoid physical contact if the person tries to engage. In contrast, dogs that are truly excited and relaxed will actively solicit affection or attention,” she adds. Observing these behaviors as dog stress signals can help owners differentiate between friendly behavior and anxiety in dogs.

2. Rolling over onto their back

While many dogs roll onto their backs for belly rubs, this behavior can sometimes be a subtle dog stress signal. “Rolling over can also be an appeasement gesture,” Levy explains. “These non-confrontational behaviors help reduce social tension and are a way for the dog to say, ‘I’m not a threat to you!’”

Levy notes that while your dog may still enjoy a belly rub in these moments, owners should look closer to determine if the behavior indicates stress or anxiety in dogs. “Non-confrontational stress signals often come with a stiffer body, a closed mouth, and the dog may freeze in place. In contrast, a happy roll-over is loose and wiggly, with the dog ready to re-engage or move away when done,” she adds.

Recognizing this can help pet parents respond appropriately and better understand their dog’s body language and anxiety behaviors.

3. Wagging tail

When it comes to friendly dog behaviors that can mean your dog is stressed, tail wagging is one. While the popular belief is that dogs wag their tail when they are happy, Levy says that's not quite true. "A wagging tail simply means that the dog is 'ready to engage,'" Levy reveals. "Different 'types' of wags can often mean different things."

As a trainer, Levy stresses to pet parents that it's best to look at the "whole picture" when trying to figure out what their dog is saying. "A dog with a wagging tail, wiggly body, neutral ears and play bowing is likely very excited," Levy explains. "A dog with a wagging tail, tense body, forward ears and a hard stare is more likely to feel threatened or defensive. There is a lot to learn through close observation of body language."

Watching subtle stress signals in dogs—including tail movement, body posture, and facial expressions—can help owners identify anxiety or stress in dogs before it escalates.

4. Heavy panting

What does it mean when a dog pants heavily? Heavy panting in dogs can be another commonly misread dog stress sign, often mistaken for simple exertion or excitement. While your dog may have just finished a game of fetch or is cooling down on a hot day, panting can also indicate anxiety or stress in dogs.

"Stress panting often looks like a dog is 'smiling,'" Levy explains. "The dog may have a wide mouth with lips pulled back—sometimes showing teeth—and a curled tongue." Stress-induced panting is usually rapid, shallow, and loud. "It’s particularly noticeable when the panting seems excessive for the dog’s environment or activity level," Levy adds. Owners may also observe wide eyes or difficulty settling—both classic subtle stress signals in dogs.

Related: 7 Ways Your Dog Uses Their Ears to Talk to You, According to a Trainer

5. Licking

Did you know dog stress signs can be hidden in friendly behavior like licking? So, whle your dog could be showering you with kisses (affection) when they lick you, they could also be sending out an SOS. "Licking and chewing can release calming endorphins for dogs," Levy reports. "This makes it a really effective self-soothing behavior that dogs may choose when feeling overwhelmed, nervous or stressed."

Levy adds that other signs your dog is stressed while self-soothing through licking may include panting, yawning, pacing, and whining. Recognizing these subtle stress signals in dogs can help owners respond appropriately before anxiety escalates.

6. Grinning

Some smiley dog breeds are perpetually cheesing, but some "grins" signal that your dog is anything but happy. Though, certain dog expressions can actually be a sign of stress or anxiety. "This behavior may look quite odd—or very cute—to most dog owners," Levy says. "It looks like an actual human grin. With this behavior, dogs tend to pull their lips back tight."

Levy continues that some dogs will grin with their mouths closed, but it's more likely they'll show their teeth. "The face will likely look strained with squinting eyes or furrowed brows," Levy states. "It can be displayed as an appeasement gesture intended to reduce tension or a threat. Many owners misinterpret this as their dog being happy or guilty, but it’s actually a dog stress signal."

7. Whale eye

One of the sneakiest dog stress signs is the “whale eye,” which shows that your dog’s seemingly friendly behavior may actually be anxiety-related. Levy explains that the whale eye in dogs occurs when a dog looks away from something while keeping their eyes fixed on it, revealing the white part of their eye in a crescent shape.

"This is commonly misinterpreted as just a funny or expressive look," Levy notes. "It’s actually a dog stress signal and can act as a warning sign of anxiety or a way to avoid potential aggression. Dogs often use it to communicate, 'Please stop what you're doing; I don’t want this to escalate.' You’ll likely notice it alongside tense body language and other subtle signs your dog is stressed."

There’s no way around it, traveling with our pets can be pretty unnerving. From stressful moments of anxiety to overcrowded spaces full of strangers, it takes a well-behaved good boy or girl to get through the process without blowing a gasket, and that’s just talking about ourselves.

Thankfully, one aviation innovator is shaking things up with an industry-first service that lets pets travel solo without their owners. By choosing Vicuna Air, you get access to three ticket classes and a new standard of stress-free travel, while your pup stays in the cabin with a personal concierge.

Vicuna Air Launches Biscuit Class

Pets flying solo might sound like a wild idea, but Vicuna Air is making it reality with Biscuit Class. With a ticket in paw, your furry friend skips the cages, ditches the anxiety and enjoys a journey built entirely around comfort, care and peace of mind. Best of all, they get a premium experience aboard a Gulfstream GV private jet, redefining what pet owners can expect from international travel.

"Biscuit Class changes the terms of the conversation entirely. For too long, pet owners have been asked to accept the unthinkable: a beloved pet locked away in a cage, frightened and alone in the cargo, while you are locked in your own nightmare of panic and uncertainty,” Vicuna Air’s founder and CEO, Jamie Everett said. “We believe there is a better way. The cost is comparable, yet the emotional experience could not be more different. Once you see the alternative, the case for doing better becomes very hard to ignore."

Orange Cat and Bearded Dragon Are the Most Chaotic Besties

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 8:20pm

When people think about pets who become best friends, they usually picture two dogs or maybe a cat and another cat. But sometimes the internet delivers a friendship so unexpected that everyone watching has the same reaction: Wait, what… how did this happen?

That’s exactly the situation with one Orange Cat and a bearded dragon named Tortellini, who appear to have formed the most chaotic little friendship imaginable.

@allyblat

Well this was unexpected #beardeddragon #orangetabby

The sweet TikTok video, shared by @allyblat, shows the Orange Cat interacting with the small bearded dragon in a way that quickly caught viewers’ attention.

The caption reads, “Well, this was unexpected.”

Related: Bearded Dragon Is a 'Cute Little Baby' Napping on Mom's Chest

In the clip, Tortellini, the bearded dragon, confidently scurries up toward the Orange Cat, who watches the tiny reptile with curiosity rather than fear.

At one point, the two animals sit next to each other, while the tangerine feline even gives the bearded dragon a quick little lick on the head.

The moment had viewers both laughing and slightly stunned.

“Stop, this is too freaking cute,” one person commented.

Another viewer immediately began reconsidering their own pet situation.

“Soooo, you’re saying my cat needs a lizard?!”

Several people who are parents to both types of pets admitted they were surprised to see them getting along so well.

“I have two orange boys and a dragon, and I don’t know if they could ever be friends like this, but this is really cute.”

Others simply appreciated the unlikely chemistry.

“When you’re total opposites, but the chemistry is fire.”

Some viewers said their own pets had similar interactions.

“My cats love my beardie, too. So cute.”

However, a number of people also raised an important safety concern.

“Cat saliva is extremely dangerous for bearded dragons, and it takes a split second for a cat to scratch or bite,” one commenter warned. “As a fellow cat and beardie parent, please don’t put them in that situation.”

That concern opened up an important conversation about the risks of letting very different animals interact.

Is Cat Saliva Dangerous for Bearded Dragons? A bearded dragon outside.

Image Via: HeartPixel/Shutterstock

Yes, cat saliva can be dangerous for reptiles like bearded dragons.

Kitties carry bacteria in their mouths, including Pasteurella, which can cause serious infections in smaller animals. Even a minor scratch or small bite can introduce bacteria that may quickly become life-threatening for reptiles.

Because of this, most veterinarians and reptile experts recommend supervising any interactions between cats and reptiles very closely or avoiding direct contact altogether.

Even when animals appear calm around each other, cats are still natural predators, and their instincts can kick in very quickly.

That said, many people who share their homes with both reptiles and felines successfully keep them safe by maintaining separate spaces and carefully supervising any encounters.

And while the friendship between this Orange Cat and Tortellini, the bearded dragon, might look adorable on camera, responsible pet parents know that safety always comes first.

Speedy Pomeranian's Use of Laundry Basket To Chase Pup Brother Is Pure Genius

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 7:20pm

Some of the smallest soldiers end up becoming the most courageous. Size means nothing when you've got the perfect combo of spunk, pizazz, and character, and for whatever reason, the cosmos unanimously decided little dogs get personalities a little too big for their britches.

Teddy, an adorably fluffy Pomeranian, doesn't care what size he is. When he's covered by the safety of his emotional support laundry hamper, he can do anything. That includes sparking supersonic speed to chase his dog brother, Ranger!

@itsteddyburr

contrary to popular belief ranger actually does enjoy playing chase. and he def lets teddy know when he's done being chased. which is why we use the protection just in case #fyp #viral #trending #puppy #cute

♬ Monkeyshine-JP - Lt FitzGibbons Men

If you blink, you'll miss this speedy little guy! Call him the next Marvel superhero or by his government name, but Teddy Burr picks up quite the kick when he's under his basket. Poor Ranger does his best to outrun the little Pom-Pom, but I'm telling you—the hamper has magical powers that make Teddy's little paws go faster than a cheetah!

When I say the basket is his ultimate support system, I mean that in literal terms. It's not something Mom threw over him for any particular reason except that he loves it. No, but seriously—he even plays with his toys through the holes while beneath it, and it's pretty cute.

@itsteddyburr

and this is how teddy plays with toys while in his protection hamper. we cut lil holes in the basket so he can grab stuff lol #fyp #viral #puppy #cute #funny

♬ Hide and Seek - Cute Music for Kids Pomeranians Are Considered 'High-Energy' Pups

It's hard to imagine Pomeranians as anything but peppy little fluffballs, but the American Pomeranian Club says these pups once weighed 30 pounds or more and were used for herding dogs. That's a little hard to imagine, considering how they look and go about life now!

We all know Poms are darlings, but these active, playful pups are one toy breed deemed as "high-energy." Their big-dog personalities make for a good time, but they do require regular exercise, including walks and dedicated playtime, or they'll live up to that spitfire rep!

These vocal and intelligent dogs are good at the whole watchdog bit, but if they ever settle down, they really do need to burn some energy. Whether that means a game of fetch or putting a laundry basket over them and letting them go to town, whatever works. As for the Tedster, he'll be joining the Avengers by the end of the year, probably.

This Dachshund Mix Took a DNA Test—You Won’t Believe Her Other Breed

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 6:55pm

When dog parents send off their dogs’ DNA tests, they usually expect at least a few surprises.

But one pup’s results were so unexpected that hundreds of people online are still trying to wrap their heads around them.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

An Unbelievable Genetic Combination

In a post shared to Reddit’s r/DoggyDNA community, a dog parent introduced their pup Maple Syrup—a 35-pound black dog with a long body, short legs and floppy ears. Based on her appearance, the dog parent and other commenters guessed she was likely a dachshund–labrador mix.

Then the Embark DNA test results came back, and the second breed in Maple’s genetic makeup shocked everyone.

According to the test, Maple is 50 percent dachshund and 50 percent Great dane. Yes, really.

Related: This Border Collie-Looking Dog Took a DNA Test—and the Results Are Shocking

The Internet Can’t Get Over the Results

The unusual mix immediately sparked a flood of reactions online, with many commenters struggling to process how those two breeds could combine.

“50 percent dachshund is obvious,” one person wrote in the comment section. “But absolutely nothing could’ve prepared me for the other 50 percent.”

“Great dane genes didn’t even try,” another person joked.

Some commenters were simply baffled. “I’m sorry…what???” one person wrote.

Another added, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way, I guess.”

How Can Such Different Breeds Mix?

Dachshunds are famously small, with long bodies and short legs, while Great danes are among the largest dog breeds in the world. So how could a mix like this even happen?

As surprising as it sounds, combinations like a dachshund and Great dane are possible. The most realistic scenario is that the Great dane was the mother. A male dachshund could physically mate with a female Great dane, and the larger dog would be able to safely carry the pregnancy. The reverse pairing—a male Great dane and a female dachshund—would be extremely dangerous and generally isn’t possible without veterinary assistance.

Another possibility is artificial insemination, which can allow breeders or veterinarians to combine breeds that might otherwise have difficulty mating naturally.

So while the pairing might seem impossible at first glance, biology—and sometimes a little human help—can produce some very unexpected dog mixes.

In Maple’s case, it looks like she inherited the short, long-bodied Dachshund shape rather than the towering height of a Great dane. The bottom line? When it comes to genetics, you never really know which traits are going to shine.

Newfoundland and Grandma's Sweet Burger Dinner Date Is Giving People the Feels

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 6:20pm

Chewie the Newfoundland is one lucky dude. Not only does he get to spend the day being doted on by grandma, but the massive pup is also treated to a dinner of not one but two of her homemade cheeseburgers. After grandma carefully cuts the burgers into smaller pieces for the Newfie, he politely digs in, and the two enjoy their tender dinner date as Chewy's mom captures it all on camera.

As one viewer correctly comments, "Everything always tastes better at Grandma's house." I can only assume that, given his size, Chewy would happily take down even more of her delicious dinner, but the gentle giant has to return home to reality, where cheeseburgers do not magically appear at dinner time.

@chewythenewfie

Fans of the video were both touched by Chewy and his grandma's relationship and amused by the fact that the mom behind the camera wasn't offered a burger, too.

One joked, "LOL one for gram.. 2 for Chewy.. and none for you."

Chewy's mom responded, "I know, LOL. I was going to ask for one, but I was afraid she would give me hers, so he could still have 2!" Now that's a grandma for you.

The Mighty Newfoundland

Newfoundlands are famously gentle giants — massive, powerful dogs known just as much for their sweet temperament as their impressive size. Males can weigh up to 150 pounds and stand about 28 inches tall, while females typically weigh between 100 and 120 pounds. Despite their size, Newfies are beloved for their calm, patient nature and have long been nicknamed “nanny dogs” because of how protective and gentle they tend to be with children. The most famous Newfoundland is Nana, the family dog in Peter Pan, a dog so capable that she serves as the Darling family's nursemaid, watching over the children, Wendy, John, and Michael.

Originally bred as working dogs, Newfoundlands are strong swimmers with natural lifesaving instincts. So much so, in fact, that their aquatic predisposition, combined with their intelligence, strength, and distinctively calm temperament, has earned the Newfie a fitting nickname: the lifeguard dog.

Along Italy’s beaches, the Italian Coast Guard has even created a special K9 water rescue unit made up of Newfoundlands trained to save swimmers in distress. These powerful dogs can leap from speeding boats or even helicopters into the water, then use their impressive strength to tow a struggling swimmer safely back to shore. Before they’re ready for duty, each dog trains for at least three years.

More than 300 Newfoundland rescue dogs patrol Italian beaches during the busy summer season, helping protect the millions of visitors who flock to the coast. According to rescue officials, these four-legged heroes assist in saving around 3,000 people every year.

Beneath all that fluffy fur and easygoing vibe is a seriously impressive caretaker and first responder.

Pit Bull Acts Like 'Rebellious Teen' When She Doesn't Get What She Wants and It's Hilarious

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 6:10pm

Kids going through their teenage years have to navigate various challenges, including school, friend drama, and hormones. Parents know all too well that this tumultuous phase of life can often bring on moodiness and a whole lot of sass. The stereotypical angst during that time frame has been the subject matter of numerous film comedies and dramas since it's a treasure trove of emotions we can all understand.

Our dogs seem to mimic these drama-laden mood swings at times, especially when they don't get that special treat or extra time on a walk they so desperately wanted. Zara the Pit Bull mastered the sulking side eye of a disgruntled teen, along with the statement of locking herself in her room.

In the TikTok from @zarathepit, the pretty Pittie walked out of a room and headed across the hall, but not without giving her mom a very pointed look with full-on side eye. Zara's silence spoke volumes as she sauntered into another room. She obviously wasn't happy about something.

A few moments later, Zara pushed the door closed with her nose, letting everyone know she wanted to be alone.

"My dog goes to her room and shuts the door when she doesn't get her way," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Zara's in her rebellious teenage phase."

Zara Had a Beef With Mom

Zara clearly had a bone to pick with someone. Maybe her plushie was taken away, or she wasn't allowed to stay out late with her friends. Regardless, the fed-up fur baby made it clear she was upset and didn't want to be bothered.

Followers got the feeling that Zara's 'tude had something to do with her mom.

"I don't know what you did, but I'm on her side," one admitted.

"Not the side eye... you're obviously on her bad side," another pointed out.

"She's had enough," a follower remarked.

"She said, 'Bye to you!'" someone posted.

Zara's mom revealed in the comments that she dared to tell the Pittie "no more treats", which prompted the dramatic storm-off. Hopefully, Zara took some time to cool off and forgive her mom for the extremely unfair treatment.

This Giant Foster Dog’s Sweet Way of Cuddling Is Cuteness Overload

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 5:48pm

Large dogs can weigh between 70 and 120 pounds, and they are often not aware of their own size. We've all been there: you go to lie down for a quick nap, only to wake up pinned beneath a relaxed dog who thinks he is the size of a pillow (even if he's actually half your size).

For large dogs who do not understand the scale difference, that is part of their charm, and a new video shows one large dog who definitely does not understand his size.

In a video shared to Reddit, we see a senior dog that weighs 100 pounds trying to take a nap in his mom’s lap. He is the sweetest gentle giant. And despite his size, he somehow manages to fit.

My senior foster dog is the biggest, sweetest baby. He weighs 100lbs but thinks he’s a lapdog!
by u/carpecarp1 in aww

In the beginning of the video, his mom is looking at something on her phone, but he demands attention and will not stop until he gets it. He stands from his bed, goes to her and squeezes in her lap.

As she hugs him and pets him, he calms and enjoys every second of it. Older dogs tend to crave comfort and closeness, and this giant baby definitely wants every bit he can get.

What Are Fans Saying About It?

Some fans have had similar experiences with large dogs. One fan said, “What a beautiful boy! I used to have a lab/Great Dane and she was 114 pounds and every bit of a lapdog like yours!”.

Some fans talked about how happy the dog is for finding a foster mom that cares, saying, “Thank you for being so kind and loving to this sweet soul!” and “It’s like he’s been waiting to be held and loved like that his entire life. Bless you for the work you do.”

One fan summed it up perfectly about how large dogs want to be lap dogs, saying, “The bigger they are, the smaller they think they are.” And another commented on how much he loves cuddling with big dogs, saying, “He thinks? He knows he’s a lap dog, I love big dogs laying on top of me, always a good cuddle.”

Why Large Dogs Are Often the Gentlest Companions

We often call giant breeds “gentle giants.” If we look at breed history, many of them were developed for calm work around humans or livestock, rather than intense guarding or chasing.

For example, Great Danes are affectionate, sociable, friendly and eager to please. Despite their towering height, they have a people-oriented personality.

The Bernese mountain dog has a tendency for leaning, a behavior where they press their full weight against your shins to show affection.

Newfoundlands are known as ‘nanny dogs’ because of their natural instinct to be soft with smaller creatures. They are exceptionally calm, patient and protective around children.

The dog in this video is a prime example of how gentle giants can be sweet lap dogs too.

Funny Cat 'Locks In' Like a Diva the Minute She Sees Herself on Camera

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 5:34pm

If ever there was an animal whose very nature earns it the reputation of being a diva, it would be the cat. With few exceptions, cats can appear aloof thanks to their fierce independence and selective communication styles. Cats may seem aloof, but they’re actually highly intelligent and prefer to communicate on their own terms. Diva mode is just a regular day for a cat.

A viral video crossed our TikTok feed showing a gorgeous black cat who, in no uncertain terms, seems to know she’s gorgeous. Case in point: the cat accepts her human’s adoring attention until she realizes mom has her phone’s camera rolling. That’s when the cat goes into full diva mode and seemingly poses for the camera. Looks like we have our own Cat Moss, supermodel.

Gorgeous Cat Goes Full Diva When the Camera Starts Rolling

When it comes to cat breeds, not all cats are equally aloof or diva-like. Breeds like Ragdoll, Maine Coon, Siamese, Burmese, and Persian are known to be more affectionate and social than many other cat breeds. Hold a Ragdoll cat in your arms and that cat will likely go limp with delight (thus the name Ragdoll), and a Maine Coon cat has never met a lap it didn’t want to sit in.

As for this cat going into full supermodel mode when she sees the camera phone pointed her way, we’d like to assume she knows that means showtime, but it’s also possible she’s observed a change in her human’s behavior in the presence of a camera phone and is acting accordingly.

Regardless of her motives, we’re looking forward to more supermodel moments from this gorgeous black-and-white cat who’s clearly ready to walk the runway.

Sable German Shepherd Puppy’s Fur Color Is Impossible To Ignore

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 5:20pm

Every once in a while, you see a puppy whose coloring is so striking that you can’t stop looking at them. That’s exactly what’s happening with one sable German Shepherd puppy who is currently stealing hearts online.

With a coat that blends shades of black and warm brown together in that classic sable pattern, the little pup already looks like a baby version of the amazing working dogs German Shepherds grow into.

In the video, the fluffy sable puppy runs across an open field, his black-and-brown coat catching the light as he bounds through the grass.

Related: German Shepherd Checks on 'Her' Newborn Kittens Every Morning and It’s Too Much

Even as a young puppy, the beautiful sable coloring already stands out. Unlike the more familiar black-and-tan German Shepherd pattern, sable coats have individual hairs with multiple colors, creating a layered look that can shift slightly as the dog grows.

Viewers watching the video were super impressed by how beautiful the puppy looked.

“He's absolutely beautiful,” one commenter wrote.

Another simply said, “Gorgeous.”

Several people who already share their lives with sable German Shepherds chimed in as well.

“I have a sable, too. They are such beautiful dogs,” one person commented.

Another added, “My baby is a sable. Love her to death.”

And honestly, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with them.

German Shepherds are already known for their intelligence, loyalty, and strong bond with their families. When you add a striking sable coat into the mix, it creates a pup who is both incredibly capable and visually stunning.

Watching this puppy sprint happily through the field, it’s pretty clear he’s going to grow into one very impressive pooch.

And somewhere out there, someone may soon be very lucky to have this beautiful sable German Shepherd running straight toward them for the rest of his life.

What Colors Do German Shepherds Come In? Black German Shepherd lying in the grass.

Image Via: MarketJirmann/Shutterstock

German Shepherds actually come in several different coat colors, although many people are most familiar with the classic black-and-tan pattern. The sable coat, like the one on this puppy, is considered one of the breed’s most striking variations.

A sable German Shepherd has individual hairs containing multiple colors, usually a mix of black, brown, and gray. This creates a layered effect that can look slightly different depending on the lighting or the dog’s age.

Other German Shepherd coat colors include solid black, black and red, black and cream, black and silver, and bicolor. Some rarer variations, like white German Shepherds, also exist, although they are recognized differently.

No matter the color, German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and athletic build, which is why they are often used as working dogs in roles like police work, search and rescue, and service animal support.

And when you combine those traits with a beautiful sable coat, you get a dog who is not only incredibly capable but also impossible to ignore.

Rare All-Black Ragdoll Cat Looks Like She's Been Dipped in Ink

Sat, 03/14/2026 - 4:55pm

When we adopted my Ragdoll cat, Milo, he stood out from all the other kitties in the rescue with one special move that did me in: one gentle paw tapping my arm as I walked by as if to say, "Take me home!"

I couldn't resist his fluffy frame or those sparkling, crystal-blue eyes. Sure, it was love at first sight, but in the almost nine years we've had the sweet boy, it's his breed's best traits that are a daily reminder that shelters and rescues often have these purebred beauties—if you're paying attention—and some of them might be a rarity.

I've never seen an all-black Ragdoll before, so when I stumbled onto Scarlet, my jaw dropped. This perfectly plush, ebony-inked dream is like the Queen of all Ragdolls (Mother Ragdoll, if you will).

These felines are now officially recognized by The International Cat Association (TICA) under the Cherubim category, though they were previously not considered true Ragdolls. So what makes the "traditional" version? Like my Milo, they'll have blue eyes and color points (seal, blue, etc.).

An all-black kitty could be confused with a Domestic Longhair cat, but you can tell them apart by their fur. Black Ragdolls have a "distinct semi-longhair coat with minimal undercoat," as Posh Raggies notes, and their ink-black coloring is caused by a unique genetic combination that "overrides the typical colorpoint restriction gene found in traditional Ragdolls."

Other than the physical differences, these cuties still have all the best traits you'd find in the breed, and I can speak to this personally. They're sweet, easygoing, laid-back, and just chill snuggle buddies, whether they look like my buddy, Milo, or they are real stunners like Ms. Scarlet!
