Julia Fox’s Video of Her Son Trying To Give Donuts to the NYPD at the Knicks Parade Will Make Your Day

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 8:26pm

Julia Fox just shared a video from the Knicks parade, and her five-year-old son Valentino absolutely stole the show.

Fox is known for making quite a commotion just about everywhere she goes. Kanye West’s (or rather, Ye’s) ex repeatedly shocks fans with her skintight cut-out outfits and daring designs, such as a dress made from sheer plastic wrap, a skirt made from belts, and a tube top made from…wait for it, condoms.

This time, Fox isn’t pushing boundaries with her out-there ensembles. Actually, she’s playing it safe with a very mom-like look (a grey jersey-knit calf-length tank dress with a flowy skirt). Instead of the model/actress taking center stage, she let her kiddo grab the spotlight during the day’s festivities.

The 36-year-old recently posted a series of videos and pics on Instagram after the Knicks parade in New York City. In the cute carousel, Valentino is seen riding on his mom’s shoulders, standing on an NYPD police car, hanging with Fox and friends on top of a New York sanitation truck, and delivering donuts to New York’s finest.

In what can only be described as the most absolutely adorable video clip, the five-year-old (with mom by his side) walks up to several police officers, holding an open Dunkin’ box. While the NYPD patrollers politely decline the little boy’s offer, it looks like (based on Fox’s other photos) they did let him take a ride in one of their cars.

View this post on Instagram

Fans flooded Fox’s Instagram post with comments, writing, “Your kid was the kid on a TikTok video. Someone asking why there’s a kid on the cop car!” Fox replied, “lmao cuz why did he become the main attraction.” Other commenters added, “The donut gesture was so sweet, just like him!”, “Iconic mother moves,” and, “This is how you do it! Best mama ever…he will never forget this day!”

And yeah, we agree. Donuts, riding on a street sweeper, hanging in a police cruiser—does it get any better than this? Of course, it does. After all, Julia and her son were at one of the biggest ticker-tape parades in NYC history, celebrating the Knicks' first NBA Championship victory in 53 years.

Oliver Tree's Mom Shares Emotional Tribute to Late Son

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 8:14pm

Oliver Tree's mother is speaking out about her son's tragic death

Days after news broke that the musician had died in a helicopter crash in Brazil, Christine Begin Nickell shared an emotional message on Facebook, remembering the son she said made the world a better place.

"Our dear son Oliver, you made this world a better place. We are so proud of you. RIP ❤️❤️❤️," she shared on Thursday, June 18, alongside a childhood photo of the singer.

Since his death, friends, family, and fans online continue to remember the singer.

Among them was Melanie Martinez, who dated Tree after years of friendship. Shortly after the news broke, the singer shared a message on her Instagram Story reflecting on their time together. "Been an absolute wreck today. It's really hard to understand how someone who you once shared such a specific and formative time of your life with can all of a sudden be gone," she wrote.

Martinez went on to praise Tree's dedication to his craft, adding, "He was so dedicated to his art which I admired and respected so deeply." She also reflected on the joy he brought to those around him, describing him as someone who balanced creativity with "a sense of childlike wonder and awe.”

Who was dumped from the Island on Love Island USA Season 8 tonight?Sol Dean & Gabriel Vasconcelos

At the end of Tuesday's episode, America was given the opportunity to vote for who they considered their favorite couple. Tonight, America's vote was revealed, and four couples were immediately safe. Trinity Tatum & Bryce Dettloff, Aniya Harvey & KC Chandler, Kayda Bosse & Zach Georgiou, and Melanie Moreno & Sincere Rhea.

The remaining islanders were split between the genders. The boys had to vote for which girl they wanted to dump from the Villa, and the girls voted for which boy they wanted to dump.

Ultimately, Sincere explained that the boys chose based on what had happened in the Villa up to that point, and they didn't know what would happen in the future. They went back and forth, but it was a mutual decision, and the girl they wanted to dump from the Island was Sol.

The girls explained that the boy they're dumping was someone who had had his chance to explore the villa but is still exploring for connections and will never be happy, but this is not the place for him right now. He's gotten multiple chances to, connect with someone, but is always waiting for a new bombshell, and thus the boy they wanted to dump was Gabriel.

’80s Rock Icon Shares the 'Brutal Truth' About Aging Rock Legends Who Keep Taking the Stage

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 8:00pm

With so many classic rock bands currently touring, it shouldn't be a huge surprise to learn that some people have interesting opinions on the subject. Even Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, who is a fellow rock icon, has some unique thoughts on the matter, and in a new interview, he didn't hold back.

While talking with Kerrang! amid Iron Maiden's huge Run For Your Lives World Tour, Dickinson touched on how many older rockers are back on stage, performing in front of longtime fans. But he posed the question: should they be?

The topic came up in relation to Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain's retirement at the end of 2024. In an interview he did soon after with Chaoszine, McBrain noted that the jam-packed touring got to him, and he "felt that I wasn’t giving it 100." Dickinson related to McBrain's decision, recalling how he argued with a journalist about how he wanted to step away from the stage if he couldn't perform at his best.

He told Kerrang!, "I said, ‘Look, there are loads of singers [whose] voices are shot and everybody knows it,'" referring to his peers in the industry. Dickinson said the journalist replied, "Yeah, but they're legends," but according to him, that's not exactly true.

"They're not f---ing legends. They're people who can't sing anymore," Dickinson boldly declared. "When they were singing, they were legends. When they can't sing anymore, they're not legends anymore. That's the end of that, the brutal truth."

He concluded, "I don't know how people get onstage when they can't do it anymore. Obviously, it's their life, but it's not my way.”

This topic is openly debated among classic rock fans, with some wanting to see their favorite bands no matter their condition, while others think they should retire when their skills are still at their height.

Iron Maiden is currently touring across Europe, and they will head to North America for a slew of dates in the fall.

Bunnie XO Says She and Jelly Roll Are Still Having a Baby Despite Divorce

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 7:55pm

Bunnie XO is breaking her silence on her divorce from Jelly Roll—and revealing a shocking detail.

On Monday, June 15, the country star, 41, stunned fans when it was revealed he filed for divorce from Bunnie, 46, after 10 years of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the singer filed for divorce in May in Tennessee, with sources noting that it was a “mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.”

The Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic author later confirmed the news on a Thursday, June 18 episode of her podcast Dumb Blonde.

"[Jelly Roll] and I are getting a divorce. Okay, nobody cry, nobody f--king get upset. It's happening," Bunnie said. "We did a f--king great job, it'll never be replicated again, but our future is so much more important, and being happy and healthy, and best friends through this is probably, I think, the biggest gift that we could have given each other."

Bunnie then shocked listeners when she revealed she and her soon-to-be ex-husband are still planning to have a child together and co-parent.

The pair don’t share any biological children together, however, the two have been open about their IVF journey. During the podcast, Bunnie shared they suffered multiple embryo losses, which took a significant toll on their relationship, and caused her to become a "shell" of her former self.

"It wrecked me emotionally, spiritually, physically," Bunnie said, before explaining that they were both on hormones while trying to have a child together. "In a way, I kind of think [Jelly Roll] and I are trauma-bonded."

Jelly Roll also has two children from previous relationships: Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy.

Bunnie XO then denied that cheating led to their split, saying that the singer has always been her "best friend" and that she loves him "more than life itself."

"So, we have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered," Bunnie added. "We're going to co-parent together. [He] is my best friend. Like, this isn't what you guys think this is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It's literally just we served our purpose for each other."

Jelly Roll and Bunnie met after she attended one of his concerts at Las Vegas’ Country Saloon in 2015. The couple married on August 31, 2016 in a Las Vegas courthouse after the country singer proposed on stage earlier that night.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie renewed their vows at the same Las Vegas chapel on their seven-year anniversary in 2023.

The couple have previously been open with fans about Jelly Roll's 10-month affair in the early years of their relationship, a mistake the singer called “one of the worst moments” of his life during an October 2025 episode of the Human School podcast, adding that he put “a lot of work to repair” their marriage after his infidelity.

The Simple Home Upgrade Costco Shoppers Are Turning to During Humid Summer Months

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 7:55pm

Summer brings plenty of things homeowners look forward to. Longer days, backyard gatherings and warm weather are all part of the season. However, with those warmer temperatures often comes something far less enjoyable: excess humidity. When moisture levels start rising indoors, rooms can feel sticky, uncomfortable and even stuffy, no matter how often the air conditioning runs something commonly experienced in my home state of Georgia.

Many homeowners spend time looking for ways to make their living spaces feel cooler and more comfortable without drastically increasing their energy bills. While fans and air conditioners can help, controlling excess moisture is often the missing piece of the puzzle. Reducing humidity can make a noticeable difference in how a home feels while also helping improve overall indoor air quality.

Hisense 35-Pint Dehumidifier, $179.99 at Costco

Costco

That's why shoppers have been taking a closer look at the Hisense 35 Pint Dehumidifier, currently available at Costco for $179.99. Designed to cover areas up to 3,000 square feet, this Energy Star Certified appliance helps pull excess moisture from the air, making living spaces feel more comfortable during hot, humid months.

The dehumidifier includes several convenient features homeowners appreciate. An easy slide-out bucket design makes emptying collected water simple, while an auto shut-off feature stops collecting water once the bucket is full. It also comes equipped with a washable, removable filter, making routine maintenance quick and hassle-free.

For many shoppers, real-world performance matters more than a list of features.

"I bought this to replace a larger capacity model of a different brand that finally bit the dust. (10 years was a good run!) Honestly, I don't miss the extra reservoir capacity," shared one shopper on Costco.com. "This one is lighter/easier to move (we wheel it in/out of the bathroom when we shower) and it doesn't leak when we move it. The compressor seems just as powerful and pulls moisture from the air like a champ. It's not 'silent', but it's by no means 'loud'. Filter is easily accessible. I also like that it has a smaller profile than the old one and has a flat vs convex top. (Perfect for cats to sit on, lol.) We've only had it a couple of weeks, but run it every day—so far, so good."

As someone who has dealt with humid rooms before, I know how quickly moisture can make a home feel uncomfortable. Sometimes the biggest difference doesn't come from lowering the temperature a few degrees—it comes from removing excess humidity altogether. For shoppers looking for a practical way to improve comfort this summer, this Costco find may be worth adding to the list.

Leiya from 'Outlast: The Jungle' Responds to 'Mean' Cast's Criticism of Her Fire-Making Skills

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 7:51pm

Leiya Pillitteri was a major character on Outlast: The Jungle. She, like the other women in the cast, had to argue to keep their spot on their team.

The makeup artist and fisherwoman said she could make a fire. But other cast members criticized her skills. The 27-year-old contestant responded to those criticisms.

Spoiler alert for the Outlast: The Jungle finale!

Leiya Struggled to Make a Fire on 'Outlast: The Jungle' Brett, 22, Pearl River, LA, Boar Hunter & Commercial Fisherman

Netflix

Leiya started on Team Charlie, which picked shelter equipment. That meant they need to find their way to make fire in nature.

"We're gonna have fire tonight," Leiya told her team in the first episode. "Have faith in me." She tried to use friction between wood to get one started.

"I really practice a lot, but I promise you this is the right way to do it," she told Brett Johnson. "And I have it down."

However, that strategy didn't work. She later got a new idea after the rest of Team Charlie complained about her not making a fire yet on day 10. Brett suggested using glass in the sunlight to spark a fire. Leiya then had the idea to use the binoculars and a metal pale to get a spark.

It didn't work when she did it. But Brett took over, and the fire started. Leiya later left Team Charlie for Team Alpha. She decided to do the fire-making portion in the semifinal competition. She emotionally struggled, which frustrated Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones.

They were the last team to make fire. "Leiya says that it's her thing and I'm really excited to give her a moment to shine after not being able to really do anything on Charlie, but Leiya is panicking," Nikki said in the confessional. "You're crying about something that you said you've been doing and are good at?"

The boxer said her confidence in Leiya plummeted. Thankfully, Leiya did get a fire, and Team Alpha pulled out a win. Maddy and Nikki later voted out Leiya in the final.

Leiya Says She Didn't Claim to Be an Expert at Fire and Ben Defends Her Ben, 43, Salt Lake City, UT, Former Department of Defense Civilian

Netflix

Ben Orndorff was on Team Alpha with the winners. He answered a fan's question in his Instagram Story asking how he felt about Leiya getting voted out at the last minute on June 18.

"I think that really is bullsh-t because I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that in the challenge where they had to make fire with ferro rod and then shoot the target with a bow, if Maddy and Nikki didn't have Leiya they would not have gotten the fire started," Ben answered in a video.

"And all they did was sit there and yell at her," he continued. "But I can tell you because that's what I was doing behind the scenes to keep things going as like the survival stuff they didn't know how to do."

The Former Department of Defense Civilian said he didn't feel like Nikki had any survival skills. Leiya reacted to the story by commenting, "Thank you, Ben. They both told me they didn't know how to make fire." Leiya addressed the cast members, claiming she oversold her abilities on her Instagram Story on June 18.

"Both teammates had told they didn't know how to make fire," she wrote over Ben's video. "I simply stepped up to contribute in a team, never said I was an expert. Not sure why they went against that in the confessional. If I wasn't there, they would've lost, but speaking so badly about me instead of being appreciative was just so mean & unnecessary."

The good thing is that Leiya proved herself in the challenge. But she sadly didn't get to split the prize money.

Eddie Vedder Debuts Emotional New Song at the Obama Presidential Center Opening — for a Meaningful Cause

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 7:32pm

Pearl Jam’s frontman Eddie Vedder wowed the crowd at the Obama Presidential Center Grand Opening Ceremony on Thursday. And if you were expecting to see one of the musician's iconic songs, you’re in for a surprise—in the best way possible.

Instead of the usual set list, Vedder debuted a brand-new song he created (with some help) just for the event. Titled ‘Better Believe,’ the soon-to-be hit is a collab with the young students of Chicago’s Guitars Over Guns program and the audio arts students and alumni from Columbia College Chicago.

Who did Eddie Vedder record his new song with?

So, what exactly is Guitars Over Guns, and how did Vedder get involved with these musical kids? Reportedly, former POTUS Barack Obamaconnected him with the group. Back in 2023, the organization was awarded a $15,000 grant from the Obama Foundation. Instead of just sending a check, Obama went to the Guitars Over Guns South Side music studio for a meet-and-greet.

The song also features (and was co-written by) Regional Director of Guitars Over Guns and Colombia adjunct professor Andre “Add-2” Daniels (who helped to facilitate the collab between the organization and the audio students) and local Chicago musicians Mark Anderson, Giselle Castro, Jeremiah Fristoe, Michael “Myskie” Hightower,Cassidy Lee, Naomi Owens, Isabella Santillan, and Joy Viltz

Per the group's website, Guitars Over Guns' mission is “Empowering youth through music, mentorship, and the arts.” The nonprofit works with area schools and the community to give students who might not otherwise have access to the arts the chance to learn from musical mentors, read/write music, play instruments, and perform.

How can fans listen to Eddie Vedder’s new song ‘Better Believe’?

While the live event is over, fans can still watch Vedder’s performance with the young musicians of Guitars Over Guns on the Obama Presidential Center’s website here. You can also download/play the song on all major streaming platforms. All royalties earned will go to benefit Guitars Over Guns.

1971 Timeless Classic, Inspired by a Crush on a Rock Legend, Became a Road Trip Anthem

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 7:11pm

Fifty-five years ago, the legendary '70s rock band Led Zeppelin released "Going to California," a song inspired by an artistic crush that would blossom into an iconic road trip anthem.

Released on November 8, 1971 as the seventh track on their landmark fourth album, Led Zeppelin IV, "Going to California" quickly became a fan favorite. Because it was never issued as a commercial single, it never charted on the Billboard Hot 100. However, the track was deeply beloved on Album-Oriented Rock (AOR) radio stations, where DJs would spin it religiously.

Written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, "Going to California" was famously inspired by the pair's collective crush on singer-songwriter and folk-rock legend Joni Mitchell. The artists crossed paths while spending time in the vibrant music scene of Laurel Canyon, California and quickly became enamored with Mitchell's artistry. The song directly reflects her influence through lines like "Someone told me there's a girl out there / With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair" and "They say she plays guitar and cries and sings."

In a 1975 interview with Rolling Stone, Page articulated his profound artistic admiration for Mitchell, stating: "The main thing with Joni is that she's able to look at something that's happened to her, draw back and crystalize the whole situation, then write about it. She brings tears to my eyes. What more can I say? It's bloody eerie."

The stunning acoustic-folk song functions as an ode to the '70s California music community. The track explores the wistful feeling of leaving behind a life you have outgrown to chase a fresh start on the West Coast. Page and Plant's lyricism mirrors their own experiences of traveling to the Golden State from England to build their musical career, making the acoustic piece a definitive road trip staple.

Produced by Page through Atlantic Records, the instrumental arrangement in "Going to California" perfectly complements its lyricism. The song utilizes a soft acoustic approach—featuring Page on acoustic guitar and John Paul Jones on mandolin—to craft a stunning folk ballad that stood as a stark deviation from the group's signature heavy electric sound.

Over five decades after its release, "Going to California" continues to resonate with listeners in the digital era. On Spotify alone, the track has garnered over 316 million streams—a staggering achievement for an album cut that never had the backing of a commercial single release. The song's lasting relevance remains a testament to its unshakable songwriting quality and permanent status as a legendary rock classic.

The flames offer warmth on cooler nights, and the table design provides space for drinks, snacks, and small plates when you’re hosting. The included lid is especially helpful because it lets you use the surface even when the fire pit isn’t lit. And since it runs on propane, you get the warmth and glow of a fire without dealing with the smoke from a wood-burning fire pit.

One shopper said the fire pit “looks great and it’s easy to use.” Another wrote, “This was very, very easy to assemble,” noting “it’s really pretty when burning.” A third person, who described it as “beautiful” and “very sturdy,” called it a “very good value for the money.” They also noted that swapping the lava rocks for blue fire glass made it feel even more decorative.

Shoppers Are Racing to Target to Grab This $8 Find That's Perfect for Parks, Picnics and Playdates

Summer is officially here, and for many families like mine. That means spending as much time outdoors as possible. Whether it's a trip to the park, a backyard barbecue, a family picnic, or simply enjoying the warm weather on the patio, parents are always looking for ways to keep their little ones comfortable outdoors. The best part is that creating a kid-friendly outdoor setup doesn't have to require a big budget or a major investment.

One thing I've noticed is that parents often gravitate toward practical purchases that can serve multiple purposes. When you're shopping for young children, versatility matters. An item that can travel from the living room to the backyard, then come along to family gatherings or playdates, tends to get a lot more use than something designed for a single purpose.

2023 Action Hit Climbs U.S. Streaming Charts Again Despite Sequel Cancellation

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 6:53pm

You may know him best from 300, where Gerard Butler delivers the iconic line, "This is... Sparta!"

In the 20 years since, the famed Scottish actor, 56, has gone on to star in plenty of other action films, including a recent surprise hit simply titled Plane (2023).

Made for $25 million, the juicy thriller went on to make nearly $75 million at the box office, leading to talks of a sequel. It's certified "fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 94% average audience score. Here's the website's synopsis of Plane:

"Pilot Brodie Torrance (Butler) saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island — only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI. In order to rescue the passengers, Torrance will need Gaspare's help, and will learn there's more to Gaspare than meets the eye.Content expanded."

In February 2023, Variety reported that Ship, a follow-up to Plane, was confirmed and would soon begin production. Colter, 49, was set to lead the film, and it wasn't clear whether Butler would also return for the sequel.

Cut to three years later, in February 2026, when The Direct reports that Ship is now officially canceled. Colter told the outlet that Butler had pulled out of the project two weeks before production was scheduled to start.

Nevertheless, it seems fans are still "on board" with the original and haven't lost interest in tuning in at home. According to Prime Video's nationwide chart, for example, Plane recently climbed to become the 5th most-watched movie on the streaming service in the U.S.

Hey, sometimes disappointing updates can help in their own unique ways. "Any publicity is good publicity," as they say.

Jelly Roll Breaks Silence on Viral TikTok After Fans Accuse Him of Dissing Bunnie Xo Amid Split

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 6:35pm

Jelly Roll is getting backlash online for a recent TikTok post that fans speculate is shade at Bunnie Xo

On Monday, June 15, it was revealed that the country singer was divorcing the “Dumb Blonde Podcast” host after 10 years of marriage.

According to TMZ, in May, he filed the paperwork in Tennessee. The outlet cited a source that claimed their divorce is a “mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.”

Just a few days before the news broke, Jelly Roll shared two photos of his daughter on social media.

The "Son of a Sinner" has two children from different previous relationships, Bailee Ann DeFord and Noah "Buddy" DeFord. Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have held primary custody of Bailee since she was 8 years old.

The first photo the 41-year-old singer posted on TikTok was of himself and his 18-year-old daughter holding up their middle fingers to the camera. The photo included text that read, “Can’t believe my life right now I feel on top of the world.”

The on-screen caption references lyrics from the song “Mama,” which he included as the audio for the post. The song features Jelly Roll and is off Latto’s new album, Big Mama.

The second photo in the slideshow is a black-and-white photo of a younger version of the father and daughter smiling. It includes text that reads, “Should've seen my face when they told me it's a baby girl,” which is also a lyric from “Mama.”

Fans were not pleased with the post. Many of the top comments claim he was dissing Bunnie Xo.

One user wrote, “Bunnie got you there. You owe her everything,” while another shared, “I'm staying with mom after the divorce.”

Jelly Roll posted his own comment addressing the TikTok, writing, "This wasn’t posted today it’s just going viral today, it is not a response to anything. All this post meant was I love my daughter and I’m honored to be on Latto’s song. Love y’all."

'80s Icon Brings Audience to Tears With Beloved 1989 Ballad: 'Still Has That Magical Voice'

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 6:33pm

Richard Marx, 62, may have ruled the late 1980s and early 1990s as the king of love songs and ballads, but more than three decades after he dominated the music charts, the iconic singer still looks and sounds like it's 1989.

Currently on tour with Rod Stewart, Richard Marx brought audience members "to tears" at his recent Hollywood Bowl show in Los Angeles. Marx closed his set with his 1989 love song "Right Here Waiting." With audience members calling his voice "magical," the iconic balladeer's vocals showed no signs of wear and tear over time. His '80s-style big hair and shoulder pads may have been retired with the decade, but his stellar voice still reigns supreme, and fans were visibly emotional watching the singer's performance.

"No better singer in the world, amazing," gushed one commenter on a social media video shared of Marx's performance.

Another added, "He sounds the same from back in the day."

One of the most successful adult contemporary artists of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Marx built a career on a seemingly endless catalog of chart-topping ballads. Hits such as "Hold On to the Nights," "Endless Summer Nights," "Hazard," and "Right Here Waiting" catapulted him to superstardom. Marx has sold more than 30 million records worldwide and became the first solo artist whose first seven singles reached the Billboard Hot 100 Top Five.

For many fans, Richard Marx's songs serve as the soundtrack to their lives. Seeing him live is less a nostalgic throwback and more an extension of the heartfelt connection fans have always felt to his music.

The Story Behind "Right Here Waiting"

Part of what has always made Richard Marx's ballads feel so personal is his ability to draw from his own experiences to create music that resonates deeply with listeners.

In videos shared from Marx's Hollywood Bowl performance, the audience can be seen and heard flawlessly singing along to "Right Here Waiting," which the Chicago-born singer-songwriter wrote as a love letter to his then-wife, actress and dancer Cynthia Rhodes of Dirty Dancing fame.

Decades later, the honesty and vulnerability of the song still resonate. "Right Here Waiting" quickly became Richard Marx's signature song, but the ballad continues to strike a chord with generations of fans who first discovered his music in the late '80s and those who are now being introduced to his music through streaming playlists and social media videos.

"Right Here Waiting" spent three weeks at No. 1 and remains Marx's best-selling single. The song is still considered one of the most beloved love songs of its era. Judging by the reaction from fans on social media and those watching the singer perform live, his music remains just as relevant today as it was when it first dominated the airwaves in the late 1980s.

The 1976 Rock Classic Everyone Still Sings Wrong

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 6:29pm

Released in 1976, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s "Blinded by the Light" has earned an unusual place in music history: it is widely regarded as the most misheard song of all time.

Despite its enduring popularity and classic rock status, the track continues to confuse listeners decades later, with even modern AI transcription models correctly identifying only 63% of its lyrics in testing.

Part of the challenge lies in the song’s dense, fast-moving lyrical structure and its unusual phrasing.

Written by Bruce Springsteen and reimagined by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, the track layers poetic imagery over a driving rock arrangement. Although it moves at a relatively moderate pace of around 80 words per minute, the delivery is anything but simple.

The vocal style, combined with heavy instrumentation and rhythmic shifts, creates moments where words blur together, making accurate interpretation surprisingly difficult.

The most infamous example is the opening line: "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night."

For generations of listeners, this line has been the source of widespread confusion.

One of the most commonly reported mishearings replaces "revved up like a deuce" with a far more provocative alternative, illustrating just how dramatically meaning can shift when lyrics are misunderstood. These misinterpretations have become part of the song’s cultural legacy, often passed along in jokes, memes, and sing-along mishaps.

Beyond individual lines, the song’s overall structure contributes to its reputation.

"Blinded by the Light" scored a relatively low lyric readability score of 85, reflecting how difficult it is to parse even when read alongside the audio. This makes it not just a challenge for casual listeners, but also for computational models tasked with transcription.

What makes this phenomenon especially interesting is that the confusion persists across generations and technologies. From vinyl records and car radios in the 1970s to streaming platforms and AI-powered lyric tools today, the same sections continue to trip listeners up.

Ultimately, "Blinded by the Light" stands as a reminder that music is not always experienced literally.
