Tyler Perry Reveals Why His Movies Made Him Avoid Marriage Despite Long-Term Relationships
Tyler Perry has it all: the fame, fortune, and a close circle of family and friends. Despite having long-term relationships and even a son, as well as promoting marriages in his projects, he’s never been married. And he says don’t expect him to say “I Do.”
Perry is currently on the media circuit promoting his latest film Why Did I Get Married Again? The film is the third installment of the franchise and follows the original couples from the 2007 film Why Did I Get Married who reunite for the destination wedding of Marcus and Angela’s daughter, Jasmine, who is marrying Wesley. Secrets are uncovered along the way at the destination wedding in Italy, forcing the parents and adult kids to face hard truths.
Speaking in an in-depth interview with Today, Perry says he initially considered marriage earlier in his career. “When I wrote the first one, I thought, ‘You know, marriage might be a good idea at some point.’ But at this age, that’s not a good idea for me. So, no, there won’t be any marriage for me. But having the understanding of being able to take these characters on that journey has been really fulfilling for me to watch.”
When asked whether he scared himself out of marriage, Perry answered honestly. “By watching my own movie,” he agreed.
In a separate interview with Jennifer Hudson, Perry doubled down on his decision to not get married, and he says it’s all about protecting his billionaire status. According to reports, Perry is worth an estimated $1.4 billion.
“It’s not the marriage that bothers me, it’s the divorce,” he explained. Everybody that I know, that did well, and went broke, it was because of a divorce. So, I’m good just being free,” he insists. He even joked he’ll make a movie titled Why Did I Never Get Married.
Sally Field Shares How She Kept Her Composure During Dolly Parton Tribute at 2026 Emmys
Sally Field revealed she struggled to keep her composure during her tribute to the late Dolly Parton at the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday.
Recounting the heartwrenching tribute with press after she took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in Netflix’s film Remarkably Bright Creatures, she got to talking about the honoring of Parton earlier in the night and spoke about her longtime relationship with the iconic country singer.
“As an actor, you spend a whole lot of time, especially me, trying to make yourself cry,” she said. “And I was trying to make myself not cry, so it was hard.”
Field, 79, who starred in 1989’s Steel Magnolias along with Parton, who died in August, went on to gush about their working experience together.
“She was a friend. I admired her. I loved working with her. I never stopped loving her,” she said to a group of reporters.
“This acting world where you where you do films and you’re so bonded with this group of people … ” she continued, “It’s like being in battle together, it’s like being in Battle of the Bulge together, and you save each other’s lives, and you’ve got each other’s backs, and you spend 24/7 with each other … and it never leaves your soul.”
However, the Mrs. Doubtfire icon went on to admit that in the years since the film she and Parton weren’t always in touch due to living far away from each other.
“Dolly and I live so far apart, we could never make it ends meet, we could never find a way,” she said. “But I never stopped feeling that way about her. And the times we did reach out, I think she felt that way about me. So I loved her.”

In her on-stage tribute, which also included a performance from Reba McEntire, Field shared a similar sentiment of Parton.
“If there are truly angels on Earth, we have just lost one,” she said. “Over the years, I never stopped loving her, though we lived very far apart.”
“I adored her from Day 1,” she continued. “How could you not?! She was genuine and humble, supportive, and blisteringly funny, with a bawdy sense of humor that would send any rude guy looking for a place to hide.”
McEntire sang a reimagined version of Parton’s song “Appalachian Memories” as part of the tribute.

Long-Awaited 'Princess Bride' Musical Sets Opening Date for 2027
After years of active development, The Princess Bride stage musical is officially set to premiere in Chicago in 2027.
According to Playbill, The Princess Bride‘s long-planned stage adaptation will play at Chicago’s Nederlander Theatre from July 19 to August 22 next year. If so successful, it’s safe to assume the play will eventually find its way to the Great White Way of Broadway somewhere down the line.
The creative team behind the project includes the Academy Award-winning composers of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen), with a book by Tony winner Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Rick Elice (Peter and the Starcatcher).
Overseeing the show’s direction is Tony winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!), with choreography by Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton).
Referring to the project, lead producer Jeffrey Seller (Hamilton) said, “I read The Princess Bride in college and thought it could be a musical … So it’s no exaggeration to say I have been wanting to do this show for 40 years.”
As of yet, casting for the show has not been announced.
Based on the fantasy novel of the same name by William Goldman, The Princess Bride tells the unlikely love story between a farm boy-turned-seafaring pirate and a fair princess named Buttercup. Mixing comedy, romance, adventure and fantasy together into one overstuffed package, the book has won a consistently positive response since its initial release in 1973.
Over a decade later, the book gained renewed exposure thanks to a wildly successful adaptation by Rob Reiner. Starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, André the Giant, Wallace Shawn, and Billy Crystal, the 1987 film remains a beloved classic of modern film, as well as one of the most popular movies ever directed by Reiner.
Over the years, several attempts to adapt The Princess Bride into a musical have come and gone, including an attempt in 2006 by Goldman and Light in the Piazza composer Adam Guettel.
The 4 Zodiac Signs With the Strongest Personalities
According to astrologers, these four zodiac signs have strong personalities, known for walking into any room without saying a word and still getting noticed: Aries, Leo, Scorpio, and Capricorn.
They have a certain je ne sais quai. Maybe it’s the way they speak, the way they carry themselves, or simply the fact that they aren’t afraid to be themselves. You always know where you stand with them, and you probably won’t forget meeting them.
Which Zodiac Signs Have the Strongest Personalities?Aries, Leo, Scorpio, and Capricorn all have pretty strong opinions, and once they’ve made up their minds, that’s usually it. They might listen to what you have to say, but that doesn’t mean they are going to change their minds suddenly. They like doing things their own way, and they’re usually pretty comfortable with that.
Being strong-minded doesn’t mean you have to be loud, bossy, or always looking for attention. Sometimes it’s simply being willing to say what you think, stick with your decisions, and be comfortable with who you are. You don’t have to change yourself just to fit in with everyone else.
AriesAries usually doesn’t spend much time waiting around. If they have an idea or want something, they’re likely to go for it rather than wonder what everyone else thinks. They’re pretty direct about their opinions, and when no one else wants to make the call, Aries is often the one willing to step up and do it.
People born under Aries tend to have a fearless side that makes them stand out. They may be the friend who talks you into trying something new or the person at work who isn’t afraid to speak up when something needs to change. They don’t spend much time worrying about whether everyone will agree. That can get them into trouble sometimes, but it’s also a big part of what makes them so confident.
Aries knows what they like and what they don’t. They may change their minds from time to time, but they’re not likely to change who they are to make somebody else happy.
LeoLeos make an impression wherever they go. They have a confidence that can draw people in, even when they’re not trying to get attention. They have their insecure moments like everyone else, but most Leos are pretty good at putting those feelings aside and carrying on.
Leo also has a generous side that people don’t always notice right away. They enjoy making people laugh, cheering on their friends, and doing something special for the people they care about. They can turn an ordinary get-together into something people remember.
Leos also tend to have strong opinions. Once they believe in something, they’re not likely to back down just because someone disagrees. They know their worth, and they aren’t interested in making themselves smaller to keep other people comfortable.
RELATE?: Born in These 4 Months? You Might Be Terribly Impatient
ScorpioScorpios don’t have to say much to get noticed. They can be perfectly comfortable sitting back and taking everything in while everyone else is talking. They’re observant and usually think things through before they speak, which can make them seem a little mysterious to people who don’t know them well.
Scorpios can be incredibly determined. Once something matters to them, they don’t give up easily. They take their relationships seriously and can be fiercely protective of the people they love. Cross someone they care about, and you may quickly see just how strong their personality really is.
There’s usually a lot more going on beneath the surface with Scorpio than they let people see. They may keep their feelings private, but that doesn’t mean they’re unsure of themselves. Often, they don’t feel the need to explain themselves to everyone.
READ: Are You An Old Soul? These Birthdays Have Been Here Before
CapricornCapricorns usually have their own way of doing things. They can spend hours working on something without needing anyone to notice or tell them they’re doing a good job. Once they decide they want something, they tend to stick with it. Even when things get frustrating or take longer than planned, giving up isn’t usually their first choice.
Capricorns can be remarkably stubborn once they’ve set their minds on something. Tell them something can’t be done, and there’s a good chance they’ll want to prove you wrong. They don’t scare easily when life gets difficult, either. They may complain about the situation, but they’re usually already thinking about how to deal with it.
Capricorn also has a strong sense of independence. They’ll listen to advice, but that doesn’t mean they’ll take it; once they’ve decided what they want to do, good luck talking them out of it.

Parents, Rejoice: Spotify Kids' Music No Longer Has to Impact Your 'Wrapped'
Losing control over your Spotify algorithm? Perhaps your loving offspring are to blame.
As a girl dad, I’ve noticed that the list of searches in my music-streaming app now cater mainly to my 3-year-old’s urgent requests: “Baby Shark,” “Super Simple Songs,” etc.
But now, Spotify has stepped in to assist those parental figures who happen to be die-hard users — and concerned onlookers of the app’s coveted year-end recap of our most-streamed songs known as “Wrapped.”
The new feature to “Include kids and family music in taste profile” is turned on by default for Free and Premium users, Billboard reports. That means you must disable it in order to prevent these kinds of tunes from factoring into, say, your personalized recommendations such as Discover Weekly and Daily Mix.
And luckily, Spotify’s new component works retroactively for the year. For parents who wish to disable the inclusion of kids and family music, here’s what you do:
- Open Spotify and tap your profile picture in the top-left corner
- Head to your “Settings and privacy” section
- Select “Content and display,” where you’ll be able to switch off “Include kids and family music in taste profile”
Per Billboard, Spotify says it can take up to 48 hours for the change to fully appear in personalized recommendations.
More About Spotify and Its Popular StreamsThe music-listening app remains extremely popular in this modern age of streaming, with Apple and Amazon among its competitors. At a glance, Spotify remains quite active on social media, with at least 14.4 million Instagram followers, for instance.
Throwback songs are still popularly streamed on the app, in addition to today’s hits. As one impressive example, legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac released “Silver Spings” 50 years ago, a song that became a timeless breakup anthem with hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify. Find out more here.
Steam Treatment vs. Cryonite Freezing for Chemical-Free Bed Bug Control
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Finding bed bugs is stressful enough. For homeowners who want to avoid pesticides, the next question is harder: Which chemical-free treatment actually works?
Two professional options are steam and rapid freezing with pressurized carbon dioxide, often called Cryonite. Both kill bed bugs without leaving a conventional pesticide residue, but they work differently and have different limitations. Neither should be treated as a guaranteed stand-alone solution.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends an integrated pest management approach for bed bugs, combining appropriate control methods with inspection and continued monitoring.
Need professional help? Orkin offers free, no-obligation quotes after assessing the situation and can help you create a plan for eliminating bed bugs from your home.
Steam is generally better suited to treating accessible surfaces such as mattresses, upholstered furniture, bed frames and cracks where the technician can maintain direct heat exposure. Pressurized CO₂ snow is useful for targeted treatment around heat-sensitive belongings and areas where moisture is undesirable. Neither method reliably reaches every hidden bed bug, so inspection and follow-up remain essential.
How does steam kill bed bugs?Professional steam treatment delivers lethal heat directly to bed bugs and their eggs. The EPA says steam cleaners can treat cracks, fabrics, carpets, baseboards, bed frames and furniture when the steam reaches at least 130°F and is applied without forceful airflow that could scatter the insects.
Penn State Extension describes steam as a useful option for objects that cannot be treated with insecticides, including couches, beds, toys and upholstered furniture. Its guidance stresses slow, methodical application because moving too quickly can leave cooler areas untreated.
Steam has a practical advantage when a technician can physically follow the bed bug’s hiding places. That includes:
- Mattress seams and surfaces
- Upholstered furniture
- Bed frames and headboards
- Baseboards and accessible cracks
- Other surfaces that tolerate heat and moisture
The limitation is penetration. Steam kills what receives enough heat; it does not automatically eliminate insects hidden deep inside furniture, walls or inaccessible voids. Penn State notes that effectiveness drops when bed bugs are protected beneath certain materials.
Steam also introduces moisture. That makes careful application important around materials that can be damaged by water or heat.
Cryonite-style treatment uses pressurized carbon dioxide to produce extremely cold CO₂ snow that rapidly freezes bed bugs on contact. The process leaves no conventional pesticide residue and produces little moisture, which makes it attractive for some sensitive items and locations.
The tradeoff is direct contact. Cornell’s IPM guidance notes that CO₂ snow does not penetrate mattress pleats and seams in the same way steam or heat can, so the nozzle must reach the insects. The force of the snow can also dislodge bugs before lethal exposure occurs.
That means freezing is best viewed as a targeted tool rather than a substitute for a complete bed bug control program.

The choice should follow the inspection rather than a blanket preference for one technology. The EPA says nonchemical methods sometimes control bed bugs alone, but doing so is often difficult, less effective and more resource-intensive than a comprehensive integrated approach.
If you are finding live bugs after repeated DIY attempts, stop adding treatments at random. A professional inspection can determine where the infestation is hiding and which combination of methods makes sense for the property. Orkin’s bed bug treatment plans are customized after inspection and may include heat or conventional treatments depending on the situation.
Are chemical-free bed bug treatments enough?Usually, homeowners should not assume that killing visible bugs means the infestation is gone. Bed bugs hide in places that are difficult to inspect, and eggs can survive treatment if they do not receive sufficient exposure.
The EPA recommends continued inspection after treatment and notes that retreatment may be necessary. It also recommends measures such as mattress and box-spring encasements, reducing clutter and using interceptors to monitor activity.
A professional inspection matters because the treatment has to match the infestation’s location and extent. Orkin’s bed bug specialists describe their process as inspection, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up monitoring rather than relying on one application.
What Homeowners Should Not Try With Bed BugsAvoid improvised freezing or heating methods. The EPA specifically warns against using freezers, fire extinguishers or outdoor cold air as DIY freezing treatments, and warns that space heaters and fireplaces are dangerous and ineffective for whole-home heat treatment.
Homeowners should also avoid applying unregistered chemicals or household substances such as rubbing alcohol. The EPA reports that alcohol has caused house fires when used against bed bugs.
Start by confirming the pest. Bed bugs can be confused with other insects, and treating the wrong pest wastes time while the actual problem continues.
If bed bugs are confirmed, avoid moving mattresses, furniture, clothing or other belongings into untreated rooms. Launder and high-heat dry items when appropriate, reduce clutter and follow the preparation instructions provided by the pest professional. The EPA recommends drying bedding and clothing on high heat and keeping treated items sealed to prevent reinfestation.
For households seeking a chemical-free approach, steam and pressurized CO₂ freezing are legitimate professional tools. Their effectiveness depends on precise application and access to the places where bed bugs hide. Neither eliminates the need for inspection, preparation and monitoring.
Orkin offers no-obligation quotes for bed bug treatment. Schedule an assessment to determine what is happening in your home and what treatment options fit the infestation.
1975 Disco Song, Written in 7 Minutes for Maxine Nightingale, Became an International Hit
Maxine Nightingale was making her way as a singer for on-stage productions when she released her biggest breakthrough hit, and it became a well-loved relationship classic.
The 22-year-old at the time was better known for having begun her tenure in the West End production of Hair in 1969. She played a supporting role and understudied the lead character, Sheila. After relocating, she continued her career in hit productions like Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell.
In 1975, Nightingale was approached by Pierre Tubbs and J. Vincent Edwards to record “Right Back Where We Started From.” She had recorded three tracks before, but none of them had gained any noticeable traction. According to PopDose, Tubbs had heard her singing backup vocals on the track “Fool” by Al Matthews and was charmed by her voice.
It just so happened that Tubbs asked Edwards to co-write a song for Nightingale to record, and Edwards was already familiar with the singer. Edwards had performed with her in the West End production of Hair and used an old tune he had worked on years ago.
Tubbs was the one who came up with the track’s title, and they both came up with its lyrics in minutes. According to American Songwriter, Tubbs and Edwards developed the lyrics within seven minutes while taking a trip to the hospital. Edward’s wife was at Charing Cross Hospital getting ready to give birth to their daughter Nadine.
“Right Back Where We Started From” wasn’t written about what was happening at that very moment. Instead, the track is about a woman in a relationship that’s falling apart and her wanting to bring back what originally brought them together in the first place.
Some reports claim that Nightingale originally refused to record the track because of its “crush” rhythm. Other reports detail that the singer almost rejected the track because she didn’t want to revive her career, as she had spent time raising her daughter. She was soon convinced the track would be a hit, but wanted it to be released under a pseudonym. Tibbs and Edwards convinced her not to and to accept a royalty deal instead of a session singer fee.
“Right Back Where We Started From” became an international hit that landed at No. 1 on Cash Box and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also landed at No. 5 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and it hit in France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Canada, and landed at No. 8 in the UK.
Nightingale recalled in a 2013 interview that Tubbs “took it straight to United Artists Records [in London], and they loved it too. They paid me 100 pounds (and after that) they (offered) me an advance and a contract to finish recording the single.”
The track became something of a sports anthem after it was used in the 1977 hockey comedy Slap Shot. NHL teams like the New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs adopted the song as their victory tune, played following every win at home.

What Has Oprah Said About Using Weight Loss Medications?Winfrey’s slimmed-down physique comes after decades of struggling with her weight. When she finally found weight loss medications like Ozempic to deal with her issues, the TV icon found a way to “release her shame” about it.
“I realized I’d been blaming myself all these years for being overweight, and I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control,” she told PEOPLE in December 2023. “Obesity is a disease. It’s not about willpower — it’s about the brain.”
Last year, Winfrey spoke on her podcast about what she realized: her brain operated differently from someone who doesn’t struggle with weight issues.
“One of the things that I realized the very first time I took a GLP-1 was that all these years I thought that thin people, those people just had more willpower,” she said on the Jan. 14 episode of The Oprah Podcast. “They ate better foods. They were able to stick to it longer. They never had a potato chip. And then I realized the very first time I took the GLP-1 that, ‘Oh, they’re not even thinking about it. They’re only eating when they’re hungry and they’re stopping when they’re full.'”
Oprah Has Taken Up a Workout RoutineIn addition to weight loss medication, Winfrey has added a strong workout regimen to her routine. In her ABC special “Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution,” Winfrey shared that she is “hiking three to five miles a day.” She also does strength training and has taken up running. For her 70th birthday, Winfrey shared a video of herself jogging on the beach. She used a hashtag that read “health is the best gift.”

How Much Do Security Cameras Cost? Indoor, Outdoor and Doorbell Prices
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
If you’re dealing with a recent break-in, replacing a damaged camera or noticing blind spots around your property, one question usually comes first: How much do home security cameras cost?
A single battery-powered camera can cost less than $100, while a professionally installed multi-camera system can cost several thousand dollars once wiring, storage and labor are included. HomeAdvisor currently puts professional security camera installation at $593 to $2,040, with an average of $1,296. Extensive systems can exceed $3,500.
For homeowners who need help choosing equipment, placement and monitoring, ADT currently offers free quotes and in-home consultations.
Home security cameras typically cost about $25 to $500 or more per camera before installation. Professional installation adds to the total, with national estimates ranging from about $593 to $2,040 for a complete project. Multi-camera wired systems cost more because of cabling and labor. Here is an overview of current prices:
Camera or System Type
Typical Cost
Basic wireless camera
$25–$250 per camera
Wired security camera
$150–$500+ per camera
Wireless IP camera
$100–$250 per camera
Four-camera CCTV system
$600–$1,600
Four-camera wired IP system
$500–$1,500 installed
Professional installation
$593–$2,040 typical project
Extensive installation
$3,500+
These are planning ranges rather than quotes. The property, camera locations, wiring, storage and equipment determine the final price. ADT’s published pricing lists an outdoor camera starting at $179.99. Professional packages and installation pricing vary by equipment and location.
What drives security camera prices?Installation often creates a larger price difference than the camera itself. Battery and Wi-Fi cameras are relatively easy to place because they don’t require Ethernet cables run through walls or ceilings. Wired IP cameras use Ethernet or Power over Ethernet (PoE), which provides power and data through one cable. That makes them well-suited to permanent installations but increases labor when cables must be routed through finished spaces.
Resolution, night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, weather resistance and recording options also affect the price. Storage adds another potential expense, depending on whether footage is saved locally or in the cloud.
Indoor cameras are generally the simplest to install. Outdoor cameras cost more when they require weather-resistant construction, wider coverage or difficult mounting. Doorbell cameras combine video surveillance with a doorbell and often include two-way audio and visitor alerts.
Indoor Security CamerasIndoor cameras work well for monitoring entryways, main living areas or other specific rooms. Because they are protected from the weather and often sit near an outlet, installation is usually straightforward.
ADT says its indoor cameras provide a wide viewing angle, showing why placement and field of view matter when deciding how many cameras you need.
Outdoor cameras must withstand weather and provide usable images in changing light. Mounting height and location also matter. A camera covering a driveway requires different positioning from one aimed at a porch or side gate.
Doorbell camerasA video doorbell focuses surveillance on the front entry. It can show who is at the door, provide two-way communication and record activity around the entrance. Installation depends partly on the existing doorbell setup. Battery models simplify installation, while hardwired models require suitable wiring.
Are Wired or Wireless Security Cameras More Expensive?Wireless cameras generally cost less to install because they avoid much of the cable routing required by wired systems. Wired PoE cameras cost more to install but provide a dedicated connection and continuous power without battery changes. For larger properties, installation requirements often matter more than camera prices.
HomeAdvisor estimates wired camera installation labor at roughly $150 to $500 per camera, although difficult installations can cost more. NVRs, DVRs, cables and storage add to the project cost.
For a commercial-grade PoE array, expect the project to be priced as a complete system. Multiple cable runs, network equipment, recording hardware and labor can push a large installation into the thousands.
If you’re securing several exterior entry points and aren’t sure whether wireless or wired equipment fits your property, getting an assessment before buying cameras can prevent an expensive mismatch. Request a free ADT quote to compare equipment, installation and monitoring options.
Do Security Cameras Have Monthly Costs?Security cameras don’t necessarily require a monthly fee. Self-monitored cameras can operate without professional monitoring, although cloud video storage may require a subscription. Professionally monitored systems add a recurring service cost in exchange for continuous monitoring and a broader security system.
Storage is one expense homeowners sometimes overlook. Local storage may require an SD card, DVR or NVR. Cloud storage typically involves a service plan.
ADT’s current residential terms list professional monitoring plans starting at $34.99 per month under applicable offer terms. Equipment and installation pricing varies by package and location.
Internet-connected cameras need protection, too. The Federal Trade Commission recommends strong, unique passwords, current software, encrypted connections and two-factor authentication when available. It also recommends securing the home router and considering a separate network for cameras.
How Many Security Cameras Does a Home Need? The right number depends on the home’s layout and the areas that need coverage. A common starting point is an exterior camera at a primary entry and another covering the rear of the property. A doorbell camera can add front-door coverage. Larger or more complex properties require additional cameras.
ADT recommends considering the property’s size, outdoor access points and outbuildings when determining camera count. Rather than buying a fixed number of cameras first, identify the areas you need to see. Then determine the field of view, mounting location and power source for each camera.
Get a free ADT quote and inspection to evaluate camera placement and security options for your property. Compare equipment, monthly monitoring plans, and installation details with zero obligation.
'I Took Creatine Every Day for a Month and I Was Completely Surprised by the Results'
Creatine has been having a major moment lately—and for good reason. It’s one of the most popular and extensively researched “ergogenic aids” for recreational weightlifters and athletes to boost performance and strength.
Today, you can find creatine at many grocery or health food stores in powder and gummy form. There are different types, too: creatine monohydrate (the most popular), creatine hydrochloride and creatine ethyl ester. But what does creatine do, exactly? The benefits of creatine go beyond physical performance; research suggests this supplement could also have a positive impact on healthy aging, women’s wellness and cognitive care.
Up until recently, I hadn’t considered trying this specific supplement. But after learning more about its incredible benefits, my immediate thought was, “Sign me up!” So, I decided to take creatine every day for a month—and here’s exactly what happened.
Of course, before sharing my story, there’s an important caveat to keep in mind. No supplement should be a replacement for regular exercise, a nutritious diet, restful sleep and stress management. And if you have a health condition or are taking certain medications, it’s always wise to speak with your healthcare provider before adding supplements to your routine.
Now, let’s dive into my creatine 30-day results and what you should be mindful of during your own journey.

Why I Decided To Supplement With Creatine MonohydrateI dubbed 2026 my “year of health,” which has involved completely revamping my workouts, adding more nutritious foods to my diet, optimizing my nighttime habits for better sleep and making my overall well-being a top priority. So, whenever there’s hype around something like a supplement, I’m automatically intrigued.
During my research phase, I learned from Aston Dommel, RD, registered dietitian at Top Nutrition Coaching, that creatine “has one of the best, if not the best, safety profiles of all supplements out there.”
I also found out from Kristin Kirkpatrick, RDN, dietitian at the Cleveland Clinic department of Wellness & Preventive Medicine, that women in particular can majorly benefit from creatine, as it helps with energy levels, strength, mood, heart and brain health. She emphasizes that it’s a small supplement that has the potential to make a big difference, especially as we age. Taking the right steps now is crucial if I want my body to function to the best of its ability down the road.
There’s truly a whole wealth of research backing up the positive benefits of creatine monohydrate beyond just physical performance, so I felt inspired to add it to my routine.

My Daily Routine: Dosage, Timing and Loading vs. No Loading Dosage and timingDuring my creatine journey, I followed the standard dosing protocol on my container of Vegan Sunwarrior Active Creatine Monohydrate: one scoop (five grams) mixed into eight to 12 ounces of my go-to beverage, per day for a month.
While some research shows there’s not one best time to take creatine, I had mine in the morning. The unflavored supplement powder was a seamless addition to my chilled water glass when I woke up around 8 a.m. It served as a solid hydration boost before heading to Club Pilates and tackling the tasks of the day.
Loading vs. no loadingIf you’re curious about the creatine loading phase vs. daily dosing, let’s break it down. Apparently, when taking creatine, the dosing strategy you follow—which is where loading vs. no loading comes into play—can determine how quickly you notice changes.
According to Jennifer Pallian, BSc, RD, registered dietitian, food scientist and recipe developer at Foodess Creative Inc., a loading phase can typically increase muscle creatine stores within several days. A common loading strategy involves taking roughly 20 grams of creatine per day (spaced out throughout the day) for five to seven days, which quickly saturates muscle creatine stores.
“Improvements in strength and power have been reported after about five to 10 days in some studies,” Pallian shares.
For those who take creatine without a loading phase, consuming roughly three to five grams each day can increase muscle creatine stores at a more gradual rate.
“Similar levels of muscle creatine saturation and the resultant improvement in strength and power can be achieved after approximately 28 days,” Pallian tells Parade.
My experience fell under the “no loading” category.

Weeks 1 & 2: Scale Weight, Hydration and Initial EffectsI read that “creatine weight gain” is actually a thing—but it doesn’t have the negative meaning you might think. It’s common to gradually gain weight while taking creatine, due to an increased amount of water being stored in the muscles. For me, any changes I noticed on the scale were, overall, very minimal—and nothing happened during the first two weeks. (I’ve also been roughly the same weight for the past 10+ years of my life, so this may just be a “me” thing.)
Throughout weeks one and two, I didn’t notice any groundbreaking changes, but rather a few small ones to take note of.
Adding creatine to my mornings meant I started each day with a tall glass of water and an essential hydration boost. This helped me drink more water throughout the day.
During the second week, I also began to feel more energized for my daily Pilates classes and experienced fewer mid-afternoon slumps, where I would typically hit a brick wall of fatigue.
After several days, my sleep even improved—I fell asleep quicker and woke up less throughout the night. While I’m unsure creatine was the sole contributor to this awesome benefit, I do think it played a key role in a larger change: I ended up moving my body more during the day and exerted more energy on my creatine kick than I typically do, which helped me ease into my bedtime routine.

Weeks 3 & 4: Muscle Endurance, Strength Gains and Physical ChangesCreatine strength gains are real. During weeks three and four, I definitely felt I was getting stronger. Maybe creatine was the extra boost my strength-training regimen needed! I was able to flow through each Pilates workout quicker and more seamlessly—and instead of sticking to mostly Pilates level 1.0, I weaved in a few Pilates 1.5 and 2.0 classes. My body was able to handle the more challenging sessions, and I felt all-around more accomplished.
I also experienced quicker recovery times. In other words, I didn’t feel as sore or fatigued between workouts. (I usually aim for three to four Pilates classes per week, in addition to taking daily brisk walks or bike rides throughout my neighborhood.)
While I still have more I’d like to accomplish with my fitness and well-being—my goal is to build more muscle and get toned—I genuinely feel pairing creatine with my workouts is making a real difference. Only time will tell!

Debunking Side Effects: Bloating, Water Weight and MisconceptionsWhile mild side effects like bloating and water weight can occur when first starting creatine or during a loading phase, fat gain is not common. During my 30-day creatine journey, I think my occasional bloating was more likely due to something I ate, since I have a very sensitive stomach.
“Water retention and bloating occur when the body struggles to eliminate excess fluid. However, when creatine is properly dosed, it draws water into muscle cells, which is actually beneficial. This process enhances muscle hydration, increases cell volume and supports overall muscle function and recovery,” explains Kirkpatrick.
Another common misconception? That creatine is just for pro athletes, heavy weightlifters or bodybuilders. Actually, it could be a beneficial supplement to take as you age to combat the natural loss of lean muscle, when paired with a protein-packed diet and regular strength training.

Final Results: Is Taking Creatine Every Day Worth It?While taking creatine every day may not be for everyone, it proved to be a foolproof addition to my mornings—and I’m so glad I tried it.
My creatine monohydrate transformation is far from over. I’m still including this supplement as part of my daily wellness routine. While it’s only been a month, I’m pleased to say I already started to experience some of creatine’s celebrated benefits and am eager to see what it has in store for me as I continue to take it beyond just one month.

Think Europe Is Expensive? These 7 Cities Could Save Remote Workers $1,000+ a Month
Calling all digital nomads! Your fall “workation” might come with a surprising perk: spending less money.
While cities like Paris and Barcelona don’t exactly have bargain-basement reputations, new research suggests several popular European destinations can cost considerably less than major U.S. cities for remote workers. In some cases, we’re talking savings of more than $2,000 a month.
The numbers come from bunq’s 2026 Working Abroad Index, which compares monthly living costs across 75 cities worldwide, factoring in rent, groceries, utilities, mobile and home internet, and public transportation.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you can simply pack your laptop and move overseas tomorrow. The index doesn’t account for salaries, taxes, visas or individual circumstances, and Americans still need to make sure they’re legally permitted to live and work in their destination of choice. But if remote work gives you geographic flexibility, these seven comparisons might have you eyeing a transatlantic change of scenery.

New York to Barcelona: Save About $2,380 a MonthTrade Manhattan for Mediterranean living and the difference is significant. According to bunq’s data, a New Yorker could spend approximately $2,380 less per month in Barcelona based on the expenses measured by the index. That’s nearly $28,600 over a year—not to mention considerably more opportunities for tapas breaks between Zoom calls.
Miami to Athens: Save About $2,090 a MonthTurns out swapping South Beach for the Greek capital could be a money saver. Athens comes in roughly $2,090 per month below Miami, potentially leaving plenty of room in the budget for weekend island hopping.

San Francisco to Berlin: Save About $2,055 a MonthBerlin’s arts, nightlife and café culture have long made it a magnet for international creatives and remote workers. For someone relocating from San Francisco, bunq’s figures suggest the appeal could be financial, too, with a difference of approximately $2,055 per month.
Los Angeles to Málaga: Save About $1,710 a MonthIf giving up Southern California sunshine sounds like a deal breaker, consider another sunny coast. Moving from Los Angeles to Málaga could mean spending roughly $1,710 less per month on the costs included in the index. Your new commute? Possibly a stroll along the Mediterranean.
Boston to Paris: Save About $1,700 a MonthYes, Paris. Despite its reputation as one of Europe’s pricier destinations, bunq’s data puts monthly costs in the French capital at about $1,700 less than Boston. Suddenly, answering emails from a café overlooking a cobblestone street doesn’t sound quite so extravagant.

Washington, D.C. to Vienna: Save About $1,380 a MonthVienna routinely attracts travelers with its grand architecture, coffeehouse culture and excellent public transportation. Compared with Washington, D.C., remote workers could also spend approximately $1,380 less per month.
Seattle to Berlin: Save About $1,065 a MonthBerlin makes the list twice. A Seattle-based worker could see expenses drop by around $1,065 per month by relocating to the German capital, based on bunq’s calculations.
And you don’t necessarily need a passport to find major savings. The same data shows that swapping New York for Austin could save approximately $2,235 per month.
“Working abroad isn’t only about where you can take your laptop. It’s also about what kind of life you can buy once you get there,” bunq Chief Evangelist Joe Wilson said in announcing the findings.
So, while a European workation certainly isn’t as simple as booking a cheap fall flight, for those who can legally work abroad, living across the pond may be more attainable than expected.
And that Paris café office? It might actually be cheaper than your cubicle back home.

Kelly Osbourne Addresses Fractured Relationship With Sister Aimee: 'We're Like Oil and Water'
Kelly Osbourne is done pretending there’s a bond that doesn’t exist.
In a candid sit-down on Paul C. Brunson‘s We Need to Talk podcast, the star opened up about her fractured relationship with older sister Aimee Osbourne, making it clear that reconciliation isn’t on the table.
Kelly explained that growing up, it was really just her and brother Jack Osbourne — Aimee, she said, kept to herself and rarely engaged with her younger siblings. Looking back, Kelly admitted she’s come to believe her sister may have felt embarrassed not just about her and Jack, but about their parents, Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, as well.
The reality star didn’t hold back describing just how different she and Aimee are. “We’re very different,” she said. “Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not. Like, you couldn’t be more polar opposite. We’re like oil and water.”
That disconnect has left a lasting mark. Kelly opened up about the pain of growing up without the guidance a big sister typically provides, saying she had to figure things out on her own—something she admits she still resents.
Asked directly whether the sisters might ever mend fences, Kelly offered little hope. She struck a diplomatic note, saying she respects and accepts Aimee even though their differences run deep.

But as she kept talking, the gloves came off.
“How do I say this without sounding like a b—h?” She continued. “If you’re not going to accept me for who I am, and constantly be trying to change me, and say horrible things about me, and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”
'Queen of Pop's' 1984 Dance-Floor Hit, Performed on a 17-Foot Wedding Cake at the First VMAs, Gets Reimagined by Meghan Trainor 42 Years Later
Madonna’s performance at the first MTV Video Music Awards is getting the Drunk History treatment.
Meghan Trainor plays Madonna in the premiere of three new short-form episodes, which launch on Comedy Central’s YouTube channel Tuesday, Sept. 15. They are the show’s first original episodes in years. Drunk History pairs reenactments with unscripted storytellers who have been drinking.
What Happened in 1984The awards were held Sept. 14, 1984, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and Madonna was booked to open the show. She came down a 17-foot wedding cake singing “Like a Virgin” in a white wedding dress. Midway through, as she stepped off the cake, one of her white stilettos came loose.
“So I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just pretend I meant to do this,’ and I dove on the floor and I rolled around,” Madonna told Jay Leno in 2012.
The mishap is part of what made the moment famous. The performance “immediately announced her as a star,” and MTV’s former executive vice president of programming, Les Garland, said afterward, “She stole the show.”
Her album Like a Virgin came out two months later. The song is still inspiring tributes. Earlier this summer, Jennifer Lopez reenacted the “Like a Virgin” video in Venice.
Who Else Is in the New EpisodesThe other two episodes cover Frances Perkins, whom Comedy Central calls “the unsung architect of FDR’s New Deal,” and two men’s lifelong race to build the world’s largest ball of twine.
The cast includes Seth Green, Colin Hanks, Jack McBrayer, Chris Parnell, Mae Whitman and “Weird Al” Yankovic. Patton Oswalt is among the narrators.
Where It Left OffDrunk History premiered in 2013 and ran for six seasons. It won an Emmy for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or a Special and picked up 17 nominations along the way.
“I’m so excited to be back making Drunk History again! We have a lot of catching up to do,” co-creator Derek Waters said.

Frame Expansion in Extreme Weather: Pella vs Andersen Performance
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
A window that sticks after a heat wave or suddenly feels drafty during a deep freeze is frustrating. It also raises a reasonable question: Is the frame moving enough with the temperature change to affect the seal?
In an Andersen vs Pella comparison, the answer depends on the specific window series and frame material. Renewal by Andersen uses Fibrex® composite, while Pella’s Impervia® line uses fiberglass. Both materials are designed for dimensional stability during temperature changes. Installation, glazing and weatherstripping also influence how well a window performs after extreme weather.
If your existing windows are sticking, leaking or developing visible gaps, a professional inspection from Renewal by Andersen can determine whether the problem is a repair issue or a sign that replacement makes more sense.
Frame expansion and contraction can affect how a sash meets its weatherstripping and how the window assembly interfaces with the surrounding wall. Thermal movement itself is normal. Problems arise when movement combines with deteriorated seals, damaged components or an installation that does not properly accommodate the window.
The U.S. Department of Energy identifies air leakage as a significant source of heat loss and heat gain through windows. Lower air leakage means fewer drafts and less unwanted air movement through the window assembly.
Why Frame Material MattersDifferent materials respond differently to temperature changes. Traditional vinyl, for example, expands and contracts more than wood or aluminum, according to Building America guidance. Fiberglass and composite materials are engineered for greater dimensional stability.
That distinction matters during repeated cycles of extreme heat and cold. A stable frame helps keep the sash, seals and surrounding components in their intended relationship.
Andersen vs Pella: Which Frame Handles Extreme Temperatures Better?Renewal by Andersen uses Fibrex composite, made from reclaimed wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer. Renewal by Andersen states that Fibrex has a low thermal expansion rate and retains its rigidity at temperatures up to 150°F. The company also reports that Fibrex remained twice as strong as vinyl after 30 years in a Minnesota home.
Pella Impervia uses proprietary fiberglass. Pella says its fiberglass has virtually no expansion and contraction and is designed to resist warping or sagging in summer heat and becoming brittle in severe winter conditions. Pella also reports testing its Impervia fiberglass material from -40°F to 180°F.

The available manufacturer information does not establish that one material provides universally better sash-seal performance. Both are designed to limit thermal movement. The more useful question for a homeowner is how the complete window performs in the home’s climate and opening.
What Matters More Than Frame Expansion?A low-expansion frame does not guarantee a trouble-free window. Installation determines how the window interacts with the rough opening and surrounding materials.
Pella’s installation documentation specifically identifies allowing for expansion and contraction as an installation objective. The system also must limit air and water infiltration.
For homeowners, that means a draft that appears during a temperature extreme does not automatically prove that the frame has expanded excessively. The source could be deteriorated weatherstripping, failed sealant, an operating problem or an installation issue.
If a window became difficult to operate or developed a noticeable draft after a major temperature swing, an inspection from Renewal by Andersen can identify whether the frame, sash, seals or installation is responsible.
Temperature swings do not automatically mean a window needs replacement. Look for problems that persist after outdoor conditions return closer to normal:
- Drafts: Air movement around the sash or frame can indicate worn weatherstripping or air leakage.
- Sticking: A sash that repeatedly becomes difficult to open or close deserves inspection.
- Visible gaps: Separation between the frame, trim or surrounding wall can indicate a sealing or installation problem.
- Moisture: Persistent condensation, staining or deterioration around the opening can signal a moisture-management issue.
The NFRC rating is also useful when comparing replacement windows. The Department of Energy recommends examining U-factor, solar heat gain coefficient and air-leakage information rather than judging performance from frame material alone. Lower U-factor means less heat transfer through the window, while lower air leakage indicates less air infiltration.
When Does Window Repair Become Replacement?A worn weatherstrip, deteriorated sealant or damaged piece of hardware may be repairable. A frame that has become permanently distorted is a different problem.
Replacing a seal will not correct a structural or dimensional problem with the frame itself. Likewise, replacing the window without addressing a damaged or poorly prepared opening can leave the underlying problem unresolved.
That is why an inspection matters before committing to a whole-home replacement. A qualified professional can evaluate the condition of the existing window, identify sources of air or water infiltration and determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
Renewal by Andersen
Professional window replacement from Renewal by Andersen can help you save money on your utility bills.
How Should You Compare Andersen vs Pella Windows? For Andersen vs Pella frame expansion performance, compare the actual window series rather than relying on the brand name. Fibrex and Pella’s Impervia fiberglass both emphasize dimensional stability under changing temperatures, but frame expansion is only one part of window performance.
Review the complete window’s:
- Frame and sash material
- NFRC U-factor and air-leakage ratings
- Glass and spacer configuration
- Weatherstripping and seal design
- Installation method and condition of the rough opening
Dark frames absorb up to ninety percent of solar radiation, creating intense surface heat during hot summer months. While standard vinyl window frames warp at elevated surface temperatures, Renewal by Andersen’s Fibrex material retains its structural rigidity up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Its low thermal expansion rate prevents dark composite frames from bowing, twisting or damaging surrounding sash seals during severe heat waves.
Does window condensation during extreme weather mean the window seals have failed?Window condensation during severe temperature swings does not automatically mean window seals have failed. According to Renewal by Andersen glass guidance, exterior condensation often indicates that energy-efficient Low-E4 glass is successfully restricting heat transfer between glass panes. Conversely, interior fogging occurs when high indoor moisture encounters cold interior glass surfaces, reflecting indoor humidity levels rather than broken perimeter seals or frame defects.
How do composite window frames compare to vinyl in extreme temperatures?Standard vinyl frames expand and contract significantly during extreme seasonal weather, which can lead to warping, bowed frames and compromised weather seals over time. In contrast, engineered Renewal by Andersen Fibrex material is twice as strong as vinyl and resists thermal movement. It maintains rigid structural stability in temperatures up to 150°F, preventing frame distortion, air drafts and premature seal failure.
For homeowners dealing with recurring drafts, sticking sashes or visible deterioration, a professional evaluation provides more useful information than a simple brand comparison. Schedule a free Renewal by Andersen inspection and quote to find out whether your existing windows need repair or whether replacement is the better solution.

Chesney teased a bonus surprise for one lucky city. “We even have [Old Dominion] making a special appearance in Buffalo,” Chesney wrote on Instagram. “It’s going to be a great summer.”
View this post on InstagramChurch echoed that excitement in his own post. “This is going to be a really special show,” Church posted on Instagram, along with photos of the two on stage in the past. “Premium Church Choir members will have a dedicated presale beginning tomorrow (September 16) at 12pm local venue time. All other fans can sign up at EricChurch.com for a registration presale that will begin Thursday (September 17) at 10am local.”
This won’t be the first time the country stars have shared a stage — but it has been a while since they toured together. Church last joined Chesney on the road during The Big Revival Tour back in 2015, and the two have popped up together sporadically since, most recently this past June, when Church made a surprise appearance during Chesney’s show at the Las Vegas Sphere.
View this post on InstagramAs for Crow, she dropped her own hint the day before the official announcement, sharing an Instagram Story of a lanyard reading “Vibe Room 2027, No Shoes Nation.” The tour will mark her first time touring with Chesney.
With four major names on the bill and more dates possibly still to come, the Original Vibe Room Tour is shaping up to be one of country music’s biggest outings of 2027 — and if the presale timeline is any indication, tickets won’t stay available for long. Fans hoping to snag a seat should lock in their presale registrations well before the Sept. 25 general on-sale date.
2001 Musician Inspired by Seeing Oasis Live Started a Band Behind One of Rock’s Biggest Singalong Hits
Before The Killers became one of the biggest bands of the 21st century, their frontman was a young musician in Las Vegas looking for a new direction. After seeing Oasis live in 2001, Brandon Flowers realized he wanted to be in a rock band and soon answered a newspaper ad from guitarist Dave Keuning. That chance meeting helped launch The Killers—and eventually led to “Mr. Brightside,” one of the biggest singalong hits of the 2000s that still gets entire crowds shouting every word.

After seeing Oasis perform at the Hard Rock, he realized he wanted to be in a rock band and left his group. Soon afterward, he responded to a newspaper ad from guitarist Dave Keuning, who was looking for musicians to start a band. The two connected over their shared love of British rock and began writing songs together.
That first connection eventually led to the formation of The Killers, though the band was originally called Killers. “Mr. Brightside” was already taking shape. In the band’s earliest days, they performed it during their first open-mic appearance together in Las Vegas. The song was eventually released in 2003 and became a breakout hit, one that is still considered the band’s signature song.
The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” Became a Singalong Hit @golden.hit0When The Killers dropped “Mr. Brightside” in 2003, they didn’t just release a debut single—they created an immortal, undisputed cultural phenomenon. Blending relentless indie-rock energy with slick, New Wave synth-pop, this track perfectly captured the absolute paranoia of thinking your partner is cheating on you. With its legendary, repeating verse and that explosive, soaring chorus, it became a massive global smash that has practically never left the charts since the day it debuted. If there is one song on earth that is scientifically guaranteed to make an entire room of people completely lose their minds, it is this one. It doesn’t matter if you are at a massive music festival, a packed dive bar, or a wedding reception—the very millisecond that frantic guitar intro starts, everyone instantly drops what they are doing to scream “coming out of my cage” at the top of their lungs. Years later, this track is still an absolute masterpiece. “Mr. Brightside” remains the ultimate, high-voltage indie banger that proves a little bit of heartbreak and jealousy can create the greatest party anthem of all time. #mrbrightside #flashback #thekillers #oldsong #lyrics
♬ original sound – golden_hit0“Mr. Brightside” has become an unlikely party anthem because it turns a painful story of jealousy and betrayal into a song people can unanimously sing together at weddings, parties, concerts and sporting events. The song’s staying power is nothing short of remarkable. In 2024, it became the most successful song in U.K. chart history never to reach No. 1, ironically surpassing Oasis’ “Wonderwall” in cumulative chart sales.
Brandon Flowers’ Oasis Connection ContinuesInspired by seeing Oasis live, Brandon Flowers’ connection to the band doesn’t stop there. Flowers has described “Mr. Brightside” as a sort of response to Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” In September 2026, he performed that Oasis classic onstage with his teenage son Henry during his solo tour, adding another generation of fans to The Killers’ fan base.
The Killers’ origin story is a reminder that before rock’s biggest stars launch into public fame, they are aspiring musicians dreaming of something bigger and looking for inspiration. Sometimes that inspiration comes from seeing a favorite band live and having the courage to change direction in hopes of going from being a face in the crowd to the rocker onstage inspiring another generation of future stars.
