In 1975, a ballad co-written by The Monkees’ guitarist Michael Nesmith became a Top 20 country hit for one of the biggest country stars of the era.

Lynn Anderson released “I’ve Never Loved Anyone More” in June 1975, five years after her signature hit, “Rose Garden,” turned her into a country and crossover star. Written by Nesmith and singer-songwriter Linda Hargrove, the tender ballad showed another side of Anderson’s voice.

The song reached No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles ranking and performed even better in Canada, where it climbed to No. 4. It also became the title track of Anderson’s 1975 album, I’ve Never Loved Anyone More.

But Anderson wasn’t the first person to record the song.

Hargrove released her own version in 1974 on her album Blue Jean Country Queen. Her recording reached No. 82 on Billboard’s country ranking before Anderson revisited the composition the following year and turned it into a much bigger hit.

Hargrove, nicknamed the “Blue Jean Country Queen,” had a recording career of her own but became especially successful as a songwriter. Among her other compositions was “Let It Shine,” which Olivia Newton-John turned into a country and easy-listening hit. Hargrove later co-wrote “Tennessee Whiskey” with Dean Dillon, a song subsequently recorded by David Allan Coe, George Jones and decades later was a huge hit for Chris Stapleton.

“I’ve Never Loved Anyone More” wasn’t Hargrove’s only collaboration with Nesmith, either. The two also co-wrote “Winonah.”

Lynn Anderson Took ‘I’ve Never Loved Anyone More’ to the Top 20

Anderson recorded “I’ve Never Loved Anyone More” at Columbia Studio in Nashville with producer Glenn Sutton, her longtime collaborator and husband at the time.

The song represented something of a change of pace for Anderson. In its contemporary review, Billboard described it as “more of a ballad” after her string of uptempo songs, adding that it showed “some tenderness” in her voice and calling it an “excellent song.”

The softer approach came after an extraordinary early-’70s run for Anderson. “Rose Garden” had topped Billboard’s country ranking for five weeks and crossed over to No. 3 on the Hot 100, earning Anderson the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. She followed it with additional No. 1 country hits including “You’re My Man,” “How Can I Unlove You,” “Keep Me in Mind” and “What a Man My Man Is.”

“I’ve Never Loved Anyone More” didn’t reach those heights, but it gave Anderson another Top 20 hit while adding an intriguing chapter to Nesmith’s songwriting catalog outside The Monkees.

A decade after Nesmith first began blending country influences into his songwriting, one of his compositions had found its way to a Grammy-winning country star and onto the country charts.

Jordan Peele’s 2017 film Get Out has been ranked the No. 1 thriller movie of the past 10 years, placing the Oscar-winning horror film above several other acclaimed thrillers released during the period.

Collider’s ranking names Get Out the best thriller of the last decade. The film, Peele’s directorial debut, stars Daniel Kaluuya as Chris Washington, a Black photographer who visits the family home of his white girlfriend, Rose Armitage, played by Allison Williams.

The weekend begins with awkward conversations and strange behavior. It soon turns into a terrifying fight for Chris’s freedom when he discovers the disturbing secret behind Rose’s family.

Collider praised the movie for mixing psychological horror, social satire and suspense. The ranking also mentioned how Peele uses the story to explore everyday racism and liberal microaggressions while keeping viewers trapped in Chris’s growing sense of fear.

The recognition comes nearly a decade after Get Out first reached theaters and adds another major honor to a film that has remained highly regarded since its 2017 release.

According to Collider, Get Out stands out because it does more than rely on familiar horror ideas. The film places its main character in a setting that appears welcoming at first, then slowly reveals itself as dangerous.

Chris travels with Rose to meet her parents, Dean and Missy Armitage. Dean is a neurosurgeon, while Missy is a psychiatrist. Chris initially believes their overly friendly behavior may come from uncertainty about their daughter dating a Black man.

As the visit continues, however, Chris notices disturbing details involving the family and their Black employees, Walter and Georgina.

One of the movie’s most important ideas is the “sunken place,” a dark mental space connected to Missy’s hypnosis. The concept becomes a major part of Chris’s experience as he tries to understand what is happening around him.

Kaluuya’s performance is also central to the film. His portrayal of Chris captures the character’s confusion, fear and growing determination as the strange weekend turns into a nightmare.

The Guardian similarly praised the film when it was released, calling it a “hypnotically nasty gem” and describing it as a twisted horror satire about race. The review also noted that the movie is both creepy and funny while becoming increasingly unsettling as Chris spends more time with the Armitage family.

Get Out was released in 2017 as a psychological horror film written, directed and co-produced by Peele. The movie became a major commercial success, earning about $259.9 million worldwide against a reported $4.5 million budget.

Its success was matched by strong critical recognition. Rotten Tomatoes lists the movie with a 98% Tomatometer score from 403 reviews and an 86% audience score from more than 50,000 ratings.

The film also became a major awards contender. At the 90th Academy Awards, Get Out won Best Original Screenplay and received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Kaluuya.

Peele’s screenplay received another major distinction. In 2021, the Writers Guild of America ranked the Get Out screenplay as the greatest screenplay of the 21st century so far.

The movie has also continued to appear on major best-film lists. It tied for 95th place in the British Film Institute’s 2022 Sight and Sound critics’ poll of the greatest films of all time. 

In June 2025, it placed No. 8 on The New York Times list of the 100 best movies of the 21st century. In July 2025, Rolling Stone ranked it No. 22 on its own 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century list, while The Hollywood Reporter placed it No. 2 among the 25 best horror movies of the 21st century.

Debuting her new pixie cut and stunning in custom Prada, Zendaya attended the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles with her husband, Tom Holland, by her side. After spotting the Euphoria actress, Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández decided that he couldn’t play it cool around her.

“I want to say hi to Zendaya,” Hernández said while introducing the Best Director for a Comedy Award. “Hi. You’re a beast and you’re amazing. And I saw you, and I wanted to play it cool, and I’ve decided I can’t do that. So, I would like to invite you and Spider-Man to have dinner at my house.”

The moment quickly sparked the attention of fans on social media. When the Today Show posted a clip of the interaction, it gained over 1 million views in two hours on their Instagram page.

“Valid use of free will, I too would invite Zendaya and Spider-Man for dinner,” one user said.

“Tom just happy nodding in the back is killing me,” another joked.

This year’s Emmy Awards marked Holland’s first appearance at the ceremony. He was there to support Zendaya, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the third season of Euphoria.

Holland wore an all-black Dior suit, complementing his wife’s sheer Prada gown, dripping in crystals and featuring a floor-length train. The dress was paired with a diamond-encrusted watch and a suite of Mikimoto jewelry, InStyle reported.

“I loved the idea of taking something as timeless as Mikimoto pearls and making them feel fresh, modern and young,” Law Roach, Zendaya’s stylist, said to InStyle. “There’s an elegance to pearls that will always be classic, but the way Zendaya wears them tonight feels completely of the moment.”

While being interviewed by Variety on the Emmy red carpet, Roach cleared up previous comments he made about Zendaya and Holland being married.

“I actually lied; she wasn’t married,” Roach admitted. “They actually haven’t had an official ceremony yet; it’s gonna happen after the Dune press tour.”

Variety said that, when pressed, Roach confirmed that no wedding has happened.

“She’s been his wife for a really long time now, but it’s not official yet,” he said.

Exfoliating your skin can feel so productive. Afterwards your skin looks immediately brighter and feels smoother. That satisfaction is likely why so many people end up exfoliating too often, and particularly for skin over 50, it can cause more harm than good.

As skin ages, getting exfoliation just right can get complicated. Since the skin’s cell turnover slows down, dead skin cells may linger on the surface longer, which makes exfoliation more beneficial than it was in younger years. But at the same time, the skin barrier becomes less resilient. It produces less oil, loses moisture more easily and has a harder time recovering from irritation. So, the same exfoliation routine that worked in your 30s may be too much in your 50s and beyond.

Further, skincare content on social media tends to overstate how often people should exfoliate, and many popular routines assume a level of skin tolerance that doesn’t apply to mature or sensitive skin.

To settle the debate on how often women over 50 should really be exfoliating, we asked two board-certified dermatologists to weigh in: Marisa Garshick, MD, FAAD of MDCS Dermatology in New York City, and Melanie Palm, MD, MBA, FAAD, FAACS, founder of Art of Skin MD in Solana Beach, California.

How Often Should You Really Exfoliate Mature Skin?

“Women over 50 should start with exfoliation once per week and adjust based on how the skin responds,” Dr. Garshick tells Parade. “As we age, the skin tends to become thinner, drier and more easily irritated, making it even more sensitive.”

Dr. Palm agrees and tells patients to start with once or twice a week and adjust from there based on how the skin responds.

“More is not necessarily better,” she explains. “I tell patients to exfoliate based on what their skin can tolerate.”

“The aggressive exfoliation someone tolerated in their 20s and 30s may suddenly leave their skin red, flaky or uncomfortable in their 50s,” she adds.

Why Mature Skin Needs a Different Approach to Exfoliation

“Focus on gentle exfoliation,” Dr. Garshick recommends. “Any products that are too harsh can actually disrupt the skin barrier and make the skin worse rather than better.”

“I like mild exfoliants such as lactic acid because you’re getting that smoothing and brightening effect without being overly aggressive, and lactic acid also has humectant properties, which is helpful for skin that tends to become drier with age,” Dr. Palm says.

“Aging skin naturally undergoes changes in its lipid content, hydration and ability to repair the barrier…. Add hormonal changes around menopause, which can further contribute to dryness and sensitivity, and there is simply less room for error,” she continues. “If your skin is irritated, I would stop exfoliating temporarily and go back to a very simple routine: gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen until the barrier feels normal again.”

Physical vs. Chemical Exfoliation After 50: Which Do Dermatologists Prefer?

“I generally prefer a gentle chemical exfoliant for mature skin, as this can help to loosen and help remove dead skin cells without as much friction on the skin, making it less likely to cause microtears,” Dr. Garshick says. “For those that prefer a physical exfoliant, it can be used, but it is important to avoid any abrasive scrubs or applying too vigorously as this can be irritating for mature skin.”

In addition to lactic acid, Dr. Palm also likes gommage, explaining, “It’s a very gentle form of physical exfoliation where the product helps lift away dead surface cells as you massage it off, without the harsh particles you might find in a traditional scrub. For someone who likes that immediate smooth feeling from a physical exfoliant but has more mature or sensitive skin, gommage can be a really nice option.”

“What I generally steer people away from are coarse scrubs or anything that requires a lot of rubbing or scrubbing,” she says. “You don’t need to be aggressive with mature skin to get a good result.”

The Signs You Are Over-Exfoliating—and What To Do About It

“Redness, burning, stinging, increased dryness, flaking and tightness can all be signs that someone is over-exfoliating,” Dr. Garshick tells Parade. “Mature skin is more vulnerable because the skin barrier becomes weaker with age, so it may be more susceptible to sensitivity and irritation when compared to younger skin.”

Dr. Palm adds a shiny or almost “polished” look to that list, along with a sudden sense that everything in your routine is irritating.

“That is usually your skin barrier telling you it has had enough,” she says.

How To Exfoliate Sensitive, Dry or Rosacea-Prone Skin

“If someone has rosacea, eczema, very dry or sensitive skin, or a compromised skin barrier, it is important to be conservative with exfoliation and in some cases, avoiding it completely until the skin is calm,” Dr. Garshick says.

She continues, adding, “Rosacea-prone skin can burn or sting at baseline so adding an exfoliant during a flare can make things worse. It is always important to first calm any flare up first as exfoliating can actually exacerbate rosacea and eczema.”

“I would also be cautious if someone is already using a retinoid, because they’re already increasing cell turnover and adding a strong exfoliating acid several nights a week can quickly become too much,” Dr. Palm says. “The same applies after lasers, chemical peels or other in-office procedures; exfoliation usually needs to take a temporary backseat while the skin heals.”

With sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, Dr. Palm likes lower-strength formulations and much less frequent use, explaining, “The goal is improvement without inflammation. Chronic irritation ultimately works against what we’re trying to accomplish with an anti-aging skincare routine.”

Other Exfoliation Tips for Mature Skin

“Less is more,” Dr. Garshick says. “Additionally, exfoliants can make you more sensitive to the sun, so it is always important to use proper sun protection when incorporating an exfoliant into a routine.”

“Don’t mistake irritation for effectiveness!” Dr. Palm says. “There is still this misconception that if a product tingles, burns or makes you peel, it must be working. That’s simply not true. You can improve texture and luminosity without disrupting your skin barrier.”

Dr. Palm advises starting conservatively and giving the skin time to respond.

“Remember that exfoliation is just one piece of the puzzle,” she adds. “Daily sunscreen, a good moisturizer and evidence-based actives such as a retinoid or antioxidant generally matter far more to the long-term health and appearance of mature skin than how aggressively you exfoliate.”

The bottom line: Start with once a week, choose a gentle formula, watch how your skin responds and always follow with SPF.

Savannah Guthrie had a heartfelt message for Allison Janney after the Oscar-winning actress took a moment during Emmy night to remember Guthrie’s mom, Nancy.

Janney spoke about Guthrie’s family while talking to reporters in the Emmys virtual press room, saying she thinks about the loss every day and knows she isn’t alone.

The Today Show played a clip of Janney speaking to reporters shortly after her win for Best Supporting Actress in The Diplomat.

“I honestly can say I think about her every day and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through,” Janney told reporters. “I don’t think I’m alone too. I think all of America was thinking about her.”

Guthrie was deeply touched that Janney used her own moment of triumph to think about her family. She thanked the actress for remembering her mom and used the opportunity to renew her family’s plea: “We just want our mom home, give her a proper goodbye.”

“I was so touched to see her do that, and it’s her moment of her triumph and for her to sit and just take a moment and think about our family, which, you know, I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom and how much we miss her and love her and my whole family, my sister and my brother,” Guthrie told Today co-host Willie Geist.

Guthrie continued, “All of our extended families are in such pain. We just need, we need help. So thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and for giving an opportunity for me to renew that call. We just want our mom home, give her a proper goodbye.”

The investigation into the February 2026 abduction of Nancy Guthrie remains active, but authorities have yet to announce a major breakthrough in the case or identify a suspect. More than seven months after she disappeared, Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother remains missing.

Recording “Ebb Tide” in 1965 sparked an instant showdown between the Righteous Brothers and producer Phil Spector.

Bill Medley was reportedly convinced that Spector’s dramatic orchestration and studio tricks had completely washed over Bobby Hatfield’s soaring lead vocal. The friction between the singers and their producer reached a boiling point, as Medley and Hatfield felt powerless against Spector’s determination to record them his own way.

In a 1975 interview with Gig Magazine, Medley shared details of working with the infamous record producer. He said, “I remember he’d have all this stuff going on at the same time we were singing. He had to overdub everything. Whereas now, they just put it on another track.”

“He was hard to work for,” Medley continued. “Because we never knew when we were going to rehearse or record. And when it was time, he had to have you there, regardless of whether you were in England or something. But I suppose if there’s any genius producer in the business, he’d have to be it.”

According to U Discover Music, “Ebb Tide” was written by Robert Maxwell and Carl Sigman. It was also a hit for Frank Chacksfield, whose version spent a month at No. 2 in the US, the site reported, followed by interpretations from Vic Damone, Roy Hamilton, Frank Sinatra, the Platters, and Lenny Welch.

The song was first recorded in 1953. The Righteous Brothers recorded it in 1965, and it became a soaring hit, a showcase for Spector’s infamous “wall of sound.”

“Ebb Tide” hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 less than one month after it was released in December 1965. The Righteous Brothers’ dramatic version of the tune peaked on the charts in January 1966.

The Righteous Brothers were formed in 1962. Paramours member Medley needed someone to fill in for one of his regular band members. He called Hatfield, who was a member of the Variations, according to The Los Angeles Times. Eventually, they splintered off to become their own group.

“Our original goal was just to put together a band that was good enough to get out of Orange County and become one of the best rock ‘n’ roll bands playing a lounge in Las Vegas,” Hatfield said.

The vocalist had a series of hits throughout the ’60s, including number ones “(You’re My) Soul and Inspiration,” and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin.” Additionally, they hit the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rock and Roll Heaven,” and “Unchained Melody.”

The Righteous Brothers split in 1968. They regrouped in 1974, then separated again.

Bill Medley is still performing live as part of The Righteous Brothers alongside Bucky Heard. Bobby Hatfield died in November 2003 at 63.

Among the photos Markle posted were sweet snapshots of Harry skiing with Lilibet, the couple caught in a romantic embrace, a father-son archery moment, and several other precious family pictures.

Harry’s adoring wife also added the caption, “He’s simply the best. Happy birthday, my love.” And of course, she added the track ‘Simply the Best’ in the background.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t publicly spoken about their recent move, Markle did post a video on Instagram earlier this week of their family’s first few days in the U.K. The clip shows the pair walking hand in hand in the woods, Archie and Lilibet riding bikes and playing outdoors, and the family fishing. Markle didn’t caption the recent share and, like her other posts, she has turned off the comments.

The Sussexes have made daily headlines with their move-related activities. Most recently, news broke over the couple’s decision to pull Archie and Lilibet from their school. 

Per Reuters, Prince Harry and Markle’s spokesperson confirmed on Monday that, only two days into the new school year, the returning royals were forced to make a major change due to security concerns stemming from heavy traffic in the area, sharing, “The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.”

The spokesperson continued, “The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.” 

While there are ongoing security concerns, the couple (and their children) will not formally represent the monarchy at public events. Unlike Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Sussexes are no longer working members of the royal family. King Charles confirmed their status as private citizens in a letter sent to senior British officials earlier this month.

Martin Short may have just earned a new Hollywood title: the “male Susan Lucci.”

After losing the Emmy for his work on Only Murders in the Building to Matthew Rhys of Widows Bay, the beloved actor appeared to comedically rip up his speech, prompting a flood of reactions online from viewers who believe Short has been overlooked for far too long.

Short was nominated for his performance on Only Murders, but the award went to Rhys for his deadpan, hilarious portrayal of Mayor Tom Loftis in Widows Bay.

The loss quickly became a talking point online, with some viewers praising Rhys while others argued that Short deserved the recognition. One commenter even compared Short to Lucci, the legendary All My Children star who became synonymous with Emmy losses before finally winning Outstanding Lead Actress in 1999.

Screenwriter Todd Spence pointed out on X that Short has never won an Emmy for acting, joking that his reaction deserved an Emmy of its own.

In the thread, one commenter made the Lucci comparison, while another praised Short as “an international treasure and a comedic legend.”

Spence agreed, but added, “I really want to see him on that stage.”

Elsewhere on X, another viewer shared video of Short tearing up his speech, writing, “leave it to marty short to bring bits back to the #emmys,” while another called him “our favorite emmy loser.”

Short has been nominated for an Emmy 23 times, never winning for a performance. He did, however, take home an Emmy in 1983 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Musical Program for SCTV Network, and later won Outstanding Variety Special Host for the AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Mel Brooks in 2014.

It’s been 74 years since one of the most iconic television episodes in history aired for the first time. On Sept. 15, 1952, the I Love Lucy classic, “Job Switching,” premiered on CBS.

Starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley, the episode featured the 1950s foursome switching “jobs”—the girls went off to work at a candy factory while the boys stayed home and took care of the cooking and cleaning.

The episode was ranked among the “Best TV episodes of All Time” by Rolling Stone, mostly due to an iconic scene in which Lucy and Ethel (Ball, Vance) hilariously try to keep up with a conveyer belt of “speeding bon-bons” and later end up in a chocolate fight with a veteran factory worker.

“It’s the pitch-perfect slapstick turns from both Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance, struggling to keep up at their new gig at Kramer’s Kandy Kitchen, that everyone remembers,” the outlet noted.

I Love Lucy writers Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll Jr. once revealed that they came up with Lucy and Ethel’s job in a surprising way.

“We needed a job. People said, ‘Gee, how’d you do candy?’ We went to the yellow pages,” Carroll once told The Television Academy Foundation. “We knew we were going to take some job away from the house. They went to the farmers market to watch how it was done.”

Pugh added, “And they were dipping the chocolates. … They brought a real candy dipper in to work on the show and Lucy just watched her.”

Tasting Table noted that the famous See’s Candies located on La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles inspired the fictional Kramer’s Kandy Kitchen and that famous conveyor belt scene in the I Love Lucy episode, and that Ball and  Vance even visited the shop ahead of filming to try their hand at candy making.

Once it came time for filming, Ball was paired with real-life candy dipper Amanda Milligan. The I Love Lucy star once shared a funny story about working with Milligan.

“Now she had been 20 years, 20 years at this place at the farmer’s market and sitting there all of 20 years doing this, never looking up, never smiling, never changing,” Ball shared. “And she came on our set, and she sat down, and they said. ‘We’ll call you when it comes time for your rehearsal.’ She sat there, she looked around, somebody went over to her and said, ‘How do you  like it?’ She said, ‘It’s so boring!’”

Nearly 75 years after it first aired on TV, “Job Switching” remains one of the most beloved and memorable episodes of I Love Lucy, a true showcase of Ball’s gift for physical comedy.

In 1983, Spandau Ballet delivered a track that defined the New Wave era.

Driven by a standout vocal performance and lush production, “True” immediately shot up the charts and became a signature moment for 80s pop. The tune became a benchmark for the band’s sound, opening doors and defining their career.

Fox News reported that lead guitarist Gary Kemp wrote the track when he was just 22 years old. Other group members included frontman Tony Hadley, bassist Martin Kemp, saxophonist Steve Norman, and drummer John Keeble.

Kemp explained that “True” was inspired by a “platonic relationship” he was having with a fellow singer. The songwriter added, “I think I wanted to write a song that was a bit like a Marvin Gaye, Al Green song, a blue-eyed soul song. It was at a time when I was concentrating on melody first rather than the sort of riff and the groove.”

Kemp concluded, “My brother and I, being the kind of ordinary chaps that we are, we were still living at home with our parents. So I mean, probably I would be playing that song to him in our bedroom and then our Mum would go, ‘Come down, your dinner’s ready!’”

Bandmate Norman added, “You never know if a song is going to be a classic. “We’re in the studio recording it, and then we started to sing. Gary was sort of playing the guitar, I believe, and we were all there sort of singing along, and then there was a little bit of magic in the studio there. That was the first indication that we were onto something special.”

Rolling Stone Australia cited “True” as one of its 200 Best Songs of the ’80s. They wrote, “Spandau Ballet gave us all a New Romantic slow-dance classic with ‘True,’ one of the decade’s most divisive hits—you either love this one or hate it. But some of us cherish every moment, especially the way Tony Hadley turns the word ‘true’ into a 17-syllable sob.” The tune ranked at 104.

The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in October 1983. It had an astonishing 18 week run on the chart and was the group’s only Top 10 hit in the United States. The band would land three more songs in the Top 100 in 1984 including “Gold,” “Only When You Leave,” and “Communication.”

Spandau Ballet captured pure magic with “True,” crafting a single that easily outlasted the 1980s. Decades later, the track still defines the era.

As if you needed one more reason to plan a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains this year, Dollywood just gave us four.

Dolly Parton’s beloved Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, theme park walked away from the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards—the “Oscars” of theme park awards—with more wins than any other theme park in the world, taking home four of the amusement industry’s most coveted honors.

Presented annually by Amusement Today, the Golden Ticket Awards have been recognizing the “Best of the Best” in the amusement and attractions world since 1998. This year’s winners were determined by an international poll of more than 500 ballots sent to knowledgeable industry voters, with awards spanning everything from the best parks and roller coasters to family attractions and guest experiences.

So, what exactly makes Dollywood such a standout? Apparently, quite a lot.

It might come as no surprise that the most impressive of Dollywood’s four wins is Best Guest Experience, a category that takes friendliness, cleanliness, ride operations and value into consideration. Dollywood has now won the award seven consecutive times since the category was introduced in 2019. In fact, it’s the only theme park ever to win it, an honor that feels especially fitting for Dolly’s namesake park.

And anyone who has visited Dollywood probably won’t be surprised by its next honor: Most Beautiful Park. Tucked into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, the 165-acre park has a natural backdrop that can make even waiting for your next roller coaster feel scenic. Dollywood previously won the category in 2024 and reclaimed the title this year by a narrow margin.

Then there’s Wildwood Grove, which earned its seventh consecutive title for Best Kids’ Area. The family-friendly land has held the honor every year the awards have been presented since opening in 2019 and is home to favorites including Dragonflier, Big Bear Mountain and the recently opened NightFlight Expedition.

Speaking of Big Bear Mountain, the coaster scored Dollywood’s fourth win of the night: Best Family Coaster. The ride features three launches, onboard audio and plenty of airtime without venturing too far into white-knuckle territory. Even cooler: The category was introduced in 2023, the same year Big Bear Mountain opened, and the coaster has won it every single year since.

And Those Weren’t Dollywood’s Only Honors

Dollywood also landed the No. 2 spot for Best Park in the world, behind Germany’s Europa-Park, while its Thunderhead coaster finished sixth among the world’s Best Wooden Roller Coasters.

There’s also one award Dollywood can no longer technically win because it was simply too dominant. After Smoky Mountain Christmas claimed Best Christmas Event for 15 consecutive years, the category was retired in 2024, with the event designated a Golden Ticket Awards “Legend” for theme park Christmas celebrations.

And the timing of Dollywood’s latest winning streak couldn’t be better for a visit. The park’s Harvest Festival kicks off Sept. 14 and runs through Oct. 31, bringing thousands of pumpkins, Great Pumpkin LumiNights and a new separately ticketed after-hours event, Harvey’s Boo Bash, to the Smokies.

Four new trophies may be heading home to Tennessee, but judging by Dollywood’s winning streaks, they’ll have plenty of company.

In 1972, Uriah Heep released a song that turned a moment of sudden inspiration into a timeless rock masterpiece. The song, “Easy Livin’” came to songwriter Ken Hensley during a London taxi ride—and it came to him fast, proving that a truly magical track doesn’t always take long to write.

Written by Hensley for the 1972 album Demons and Wizards, “Easy Livin’” is a quick, two-and-a-half-minute ride highlighted by Hensley’s organ riff and a bluesy vocal performance by David Byron about life on the road and the burnout of stardom.

The song became Uriah Heep’s only Top 40  hit in the United States, reaching No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1972. It was also featured in the 1975 movie Dog Day Afternoon.

Hensley penned “Easy Livin’” in minutes, following a taxi ride home from a three-day recording session at Lansdowne Studios in London.

“We’d been rushing to finish an album before we left to go on tour,” Hensley told Classic Rock magazine in a 2018 interview. “We were having a conversation, and someone mentioned how people think we have such an easy life, how we just show up, collect the dollars and go home. The words ‘easy life’ stuck in my head. When the taxi dropped me off at my flat, I went in, put the kettle on, sat down at the piano, and within about ten minutes that song was finished.” 

“We were already doing well, but that song took us to another level of success,” Hensley added of the classic rock hit.

While Uriah Heep had been known for longer prog-style tracks, ”Easy Livin’” was a quick track that became a game-changer for the British rock band.

“We were entering the era of the 3-minute single,” Hensley once explained to Classic Rock Revisited, adding, “Within three minutes of the cab dropping me off at home, the song was being born.”

Still, the rockers didn’t expect the level of success they found with the song.

Speaking with Songfacts, Hemsley admitted he knew “Easy Livin’” was good but didn’t pen it thinking it would be a massive hit.

“I knew we had a great song for the band and it translated into a great live ” he said. “But, since I never wrote (nor write) with a particular ‘destination’ in mind, I hardly ever considered that a song may succeed to any extent at all.”

Fifty-four years after its release, ‘Easy Livin’” remains one of Uriah Heep’s most beloved classics—a song written in 10 minutes about how hard life can be but remembered decades later as the band’s ultimate feel-good anthem.

To say Dancing with the Stars is a massive commitment would be an understatement. When they called, I said yes. They were like, “Do you think…” I was like, “Yeah, no, let’s do this. I want to do this. And so it’s nice to be able to come back to your first or second love and re-experience it in your adulthood. So it’s kind of nostalgic in one way. Philadelphia is launching three all-new cream cheese flavors that fans are sure to fall in love with this season—and at least two of them will be here to stay.

Two months after wowing fans with the breakfast game-changer that is its lactose-free cream cheese, Philadelphia is back at it again, this time releasing a “swicy” collaboration with Mike’s Hot Honey and two much sweeter companions (one of which is exclusive to autumn).

Officially revealed for the first time this morning is Philadelphia’s new Mike’s Hot Honey Whipped Cream Cheese, which melds the namesake chili-infused honey into the cult-favorite cream cheese for a one-of-a-kind sweet-and-spicy spread.

According to the brand, the partnership was inspired by consumers’ steady preference for swicy menu items in 2026. It promises the new spread brings a “creamy twist” to a beloved mainstay and is ideal for spicing up bagels, breakfast sandwiches, charcuterie boards, pizza and more.

As for those sweeter spreads, shoppers should expect to spot Philadelphia Cranberry Orange and Salted Caramel flavored cream cheeses on shelves real soon, refreshing the brand’s growing lineup of permanent and limited-time flavors.

We could see both of these new varieties turning favorites like stuffed French toast, mini cheesecakes, and creamy fruit dips into something special and completely new with nearly no effort (a real win, if you ask us).

According to Philadelphia, its Mike’s Hot Honey Whipped Cream Cheese is currently available exclusively at Walmart stores across the country, expanding to additional retailers in January 2027 as part of its everyday offers. The brand’s new Salted Caramel and limited-edition Cranberry Orange flavored cream cheeses are also rolling out now at major retailers nationwide.

It took less than an hour for John Fogerty to come up with one of the CCR songs that would resonate with fans for decades.

In 1969, Fogerty sat down to write the now-iconic Creedence Clearwater Revival song “Proud Mary.” After less than an hour, he had written with what would become one of the most enduring songs in rock ‘n’ roll history.

During a conversation with Rick Beato in September 2025, Fogerty looked back on the making of “Proud Mary,” revealing he knew he had started and finished it “within the hour”—and he instantly knew he had a hit on his hands.

“I looked at the page and I went, ‘John, you’ve written a classic,'” he remembered thinking at the time. “I had never written what I considered a song like the greats.”

Naming other songwriting geniuses like Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, Fogerty said, “My whole life I wanted to get there, be like them, but I also knew that none of my songs were good like that…And now I’m looking at one that is.“

And Fogerty’s gut feeling about “Proud Mary” was quickly proven to be true. The song was released a single from the band’s Bayou County album in January 1969, and peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 chart just two months later.

Interestingly, “Proud Mary” never hit the No. 1 spot on the all-genre singles chart, and instead peaked at No. 2. It stayed there for three weeks, blocked from reaching the summit by the Sly & The Family Stone song “Everyday People” and Tommy Roe‘s “Dizzy.”

But that didn’t stop the song from solidifying a spot in rock music history.

“Proud Mary” is considered to be among the most legendary songs ever recorded. Rolling Stone includes the CCR track on its roundup of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, where it’s placed at No. 152. It is also recognized on Billboard‘s list of the best songs to ever peak at No. 2, with “Proud Mary” coming in at No. 31.

Ella Langley just landed in the same sentence as Mariah Carey, and not for anything Christmas-related.

“Choosin’ Texas” spent a 22nd nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week, tying Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s history, a record book that stretches back to August 1958. It’s an unusual tie: Carey’s 1994 holiday standard built its total gradually, picking up a handful of weeks each December since 2019 as it resurfaces every winter. Langley’s country-pop crossover got there in a single stretch, first topping the chart in February and clawing back to No. 1 even after a brief interruption knocked it down for five weeks over the summer.

Getting to 22 meant passing a stacked list of records along the way. “Choosin’ Texas” already held the mark for most weeks at No. 1 among non-holiday songs by a woman, surpassing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Carey’s own “We Belong Together” (14 weeks each), then Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” (16 weeks). At 19 weeks, it tied Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for the second-longest reign ever. Now it’s out of that tie entirely and sitting alone at the top of the leaderboard, alongside Carey.

Whether Langley pulls ahead outright is still an open question. Carey’s Christmas song reliably picks up more weeks every December once holiday listening kicks back in, meaning the record could keep moving even as Langley holds steady. For now, though, a country song not built around sleigh bells has fought its way into a category usually reserved for holiday classics.

The milestone landed the same week Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion, returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, a reminder that this isn’t a one-song moment for her.
