John Krasinski’s Net Worth in 2026 Means He Won't Have To Take an 'Office' Job Anytime Soon
John Krasinski’s net worth in 2026 is nothing like Jim Halpert’s—the character Krasinski famously played on NBC’s The Office. The actor/writer/director triple-threat has kept himself busy long after the 2013 ending of the beloved sitcom. And we’re not just talking about his enviable marriage to Emily Blunt!
Krasinski has definitely diversified his career over the past decade, from starring as Jack Ryan on the Amazon Prime Video series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan to co-writing, directing, producing and starring in 2018’s A Quiet Place (and writing and directing its sequel!), we have to imagine Krasinski is raking in some serious dough. He even made his first appearance in the MCU with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Here is everything you could ever need to know about John Krasinski’s net worth in 2026.

To anyone who’s a fan of the actor, the answer is probably pretty obvious. John Krasinski was a relative unknown in 2004 when he auditioned for and landed the role of Jim Halpert in NBC’s The Office, the American version of the U.K. sitcom.
Prior to landing The Office, Krasinski had interned at Late Night With Conan O’Brien in 2000 while still at Brown University, appeared in commercials and guest-starring roles on shows like Ed and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and had small roles in films like 2000’s State and Main, 2004’s Taxi and 2004’s Kinsey, in addition to appearing in some off-Broadway plays.
It was Krasinski’s casting and subsequent portrayal of Jim on The Office that put him on the map and made him a household name.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, John Krasinski's net worth in 2026 is $100 million. It is important to note that this is a combined net worth with his wife, Emily Blunt, though it has been reported that Krasinski is responsible for a slightly larger share. Krasinski has earned this baller bank account through his work as an actor, director, writer and producer.
How much did John Krasinski make per episode of The Office?Because John Krasinski started his time on The Office as an unknown actor with little clout, he was paid $20,000 per episode for the first three seasons. This was reportedly raised to $100,000 per episode starting with the show’s fourth season and remained in that range until the end of the series' nine-season run.

With John Krasinski earning $20,000 per episode for the show’s first three seasons and $100,000 (or more) per episode for the series’ remaining six seasons, that would have netted the actor at least $14,720,000 from the show—without counting bonuses, residuals or extra cash from video sales, syndication, streaming or reruns.

The actors from The Office do get residuals from their work on the series as outlined by their contracts and SAG-AFTRA agreements. However, when it comes to deals like the $500 million one to stream the series, it is unlikely that the actors—beyond headliner Steve Carell—get any piece of that pie beyond their SAG-AFTRA residuals.

It is not known how much John Krasinski earns in royalties from The Office. We do know that the cast receives residuals; however, the exact amount is not public knowledge.
How much does John Krasinski make for Jack Ryan?John Krasinski has remained tight-lipped about his salary on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan for his portrayal of the title character. Given his star power when he landed the role, we can imagine he is paid in the high hundreds of thousands per episode for the Amazon Prime Video series, if not the low seven-figure range (which is what Chris Prattreportedly got for The Terminal List on Prime Video).
How much did John Krasinski make from Dr. Strange? It is not known how much John Krasinski was paid for his cameo role as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a follow-up to 2016’s Doctor Strange. Because he had a relatively small role in the film, we can imagine he was paid in the hundreds of thousands for the role.
How much did John Krasinski make from Monsters University? It is not public knowledge how much John Krasinski was paid for his voice-acting role as Frank McCay in 2013’s Monsters University. Because of the actor’s clout at the time he was cast, we can see him being paid in the high hundreds of thousands for the voice appearance.

John Krasinski was a co-writer, director, producer and star of the 2018 horror hit A Quiet Place. However, it is not known exactly how much the quadruple threat earned for his work on the film. As he had so many behind-the-scenes roles, including as a producer, and also starred in the film, we can imagine Krasinski was also entitled to a portion of the film’s profits.
The movie earned a worldwide gross of over $340 million on an estimated $17 million budget, so we can imagine Krasinski probably earned upwards of $15 million when all was said and done for his work on the movie. (And those numbers are particularly stellar considering it came out right before the pandemic!)
How much did John Krasinski make from A Quiet Place 2?John Krasinski has not publicly released how much he made for 2021’s A Quiet Place Part II. Krasinski wrote and again directed the film but had a much smaller onscreen role. It has been reported that his wife, Emily Blunt, earned around $12 to $13 million to reprise her starring role in the sequel.
That being said, Blunt and Krasinski ended up in a legal battle with Paramount Pictures over the shortened theatrical release of the film, as both actors were entitled to a portion of the film’s box office gross as part of their pay according to their contracts.
The movie grossed $297,372,261 worldwide as of this writing. That means we can estimate Krasinski again most likely earned upwards of $15 million for his behind-the-camera and onscreen responsibilities on the film.
How much did John Krasinski sell Some Good News for?John Krasinski’s Some Good News was one of the few bright spots that emerged early on during the coronavirus pandemic. The YouTube series ran from March 29, 2020, until May 17, 2020. Following a reportedly colossal bidding war, Krasinski licensed the web series to ViacomCBS in what has been described as “a rich deal.” While the details of this deal remain secret, we can imagine Krasinski earned at least a few million.

’90s Rock Band, Originally Disbanded After First-Ever Show, Announces First Tour in 30 Years
After 30 years, Australian alternative rock band TISM (short for This Is Serious Mum) is going back on tour. The announcement came Tuesday via Instagram, marking their first national headline tour since the 1990s.
The band's decision to go back on the road follows their wild April performance at Sydney Opera House, where they put on an anarchic live show that resulted in nearly $19,000 in venue damage. TISM later denied any part in the destruction in a brash statement posted to social media. The situation sparked massive discourse across Australia due to the band's notoriously chaotic reputation, which only seemed to encourage the anonymous collective further.
TISM perform on stage at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on November 9, 2024 in Melbourne, Australia. The trek, titled the NO MISTAKES TOUR, will set out on July 10 and travel to a series of major Australian venues. Kicking off in the summer, TISM will make a couple of high-profile festival appearances, starting at the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival, and will conclude with a chain of fall theater dates, ending at Sydney's Enmore Theatre. As of now, no opening acts have been announced as support.
In their announcement post, the band gave brief, characteristically cynical synopsis of what to expect from the upcoming dates, emphasizing the rarity of the performances to their cult following.
Because TSIM wants all your money, they’ll be playing radically different selections of fan favourites each night — plus all the other weird [expletive] that goes on at a TSIM show," the group stated. "Equal parts chaos, anonymity and Australian music history, this is a rare chance to witness one of the country’s most legendary live bands at full force."

1975 Rock Classic Ranked Among 'Best Karaoke Songs' of All Time
Head to karaoke night, and there are a few classic tracks that you can guarantee will be sung at some point throughout the evening. One of those includes a hit rock anthem that will wow audiences every time.
That song? "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. Voted among the 100 Best Karaoke Songs of All Time by Billboard, it's a great song if you want to impress your friends with a dramatic finale at the end of the night. It's got everything you could ask for in a top karaoke tune: singalong moments, head-turning solo vocals, and energetic, layered instrumentals that even conclude the song with a gong.
Despite it being one of the most legendary songs to date, it hasn't always been the case. First released as a single on October 31, 1975, the track peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. Seeing a resurgence following the release ofWayne's World in 1992, the song reached the number two spot on the same chart, before charting for a third time in 2018. This made "Bohemian Rhapsody" a rare multi-decade chart success.
Queen singer Freddie Mercury died in November 1991, before the song's second wave of success. Guitarist Brian May said that the iconic musician would be relishing in the song's success.
“We thought, this is going to be a nice track for our new album [A Night at the Opera],” May explained of the song's origins, per Big Issue. “which hopefully is going to save us, because we’re seriously in debt and in a very bad situation as regards management.”
“We certainly weren’t thinking in terms of number ones, we just felt it was the best song on the album,” added drummer Roger Taylor. “It was the most arresting, unusual thing.”
May said that maybe "the time was right" for "Bohemian Rhapsody," but the success of the song remains a "mystery."
"I’m kind of glad it’s a mystery, because nobody really knows where Bohemian Rhapsody came from. Nobody could have predicted that it would fall upon the general public’s ears at that moment and have such an incredible effect. So I suppose I think ‘Rhapsody’ would have done well at any point but was certainly well timed in a sense of the way people felt."
Travis Kelce's Tight Ends & Friends Concert Returns
Travis Kelce and his tight end pals are back!
The Kansas City Chiefs star, along with San Francisco 49ers' George Kittle, and former Carolina Panthers' Greg Olsen, are returning for another year of their "Tight Ends & Friends" concert.
The show, presented by Reese's, is "poised to be one of the most anticipated nights of the summer."
Last year's inaugural concert set the bar high with country music star Kane Brown taking the stage before a surprise performance by Kelce's now-fiancée Taylor Swift.
View this post on Instagram"Tight Ends and Friends is everything TEU stands for: the brotherhood, the celebration, the fans, and the moments that nobody sees coming. What we built last year in Nashville was something truly special, and this summer we are taking it to another level entirely," Olsen said.
After the viral night of music from last year's Tight Ends & Friends concert, and TEU and Authentic's standout event during Big Game Weekend in San Francisco earlier this year, this year's show promises to build on the momentum.
"When SI and Tight End University joined forces in San Francisco, the result spoke for itself. That event was the place to be, and we are incredibly excited to bring that same energy to Nashville this June on an even bigger stage," said Matt Goldstein, EVP, Authentic Live, a division of Authentic Brands Group.
While the performances for the 2026 Tight Ends & Friends concert are being kept under wraps, fans can expect top-tier country music talent and very special guests.
Fans 18 and over can get their tickets now for the June 23 event taking place at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee.

‘80s Queen Kate Capshaw, 72, Is Still a Blonde Beauty 42 Years After ‘Indiana Jones'
Kate Capshaw may be best known for her role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, but the retired actress, who is married to director Steven Spielberg, rarely makes public appearances.
The retired actress, 72, rose to stardom in the role of Willie Scott opposite Harrison Ford in the 1984 hit, in which she played a nightclub singer who gets wrapped up in Indiana's adventures. While she did have a few other roles after Indiana, like The Quick and the Dead, Capshaw eventually chose to ditch life in the spotlight. Instead, she chose to raise a family with Spielberg, in addition to her children from a previous marriage. But on Tuesday, the blonde beauty made a rare public appearance alongside her husband outside The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York City. While it's been 42 years since she starred in Indiana Jones, Capshaw is still every bit the blonde beauty she was back in the '80s.

Retirees Face Some Huge Threats Thanks to Inflation Sitting at a 3-Year High
If you’ve been staring at your retirement savings and wondering how it’ll hold up to this record-high inflation, there are some steps you can take to ease your mind. With the help of a savvy financial planner, the huge threats to your retirement can be mitigated, although not avoided entirely.
💰 Get all of the retirement advice you need with Parade's daily newsletter 💰
The Triple ThreatOlder Gen X and younger Boomers are staring down the barrel of retirement. Planning for your post-work life may look different from what you expected. The past few years have seen record inflation with no sign of it slowing down soon.
The portfolio you thought would carry you through your Golden Years may not be looking as sustainable now. MarketWatch recently released a piece noting that retirees may need to increase withdrawals, which leads to higher taxes and faster depletion of funds. It’s a vicious triple threat that may leave some people nervous about their ability to retire at all.
Related: Foreclosures Are Spiking in the Most Popular Retirement States
Combating InflationThere are steps you can take with your retirement investments to help combat rising inflation, especially if you’re worried about the amount of funds you have and the taxes to withdraw those funds.
Consider converting traditional IRAs and 401(k) accounts into Roth IRAs. Roth withdrawals are tax-free, so transferring money to them will shield it from future taxes. Additionally, if you spend down the highly taxable accounts first that weren’t converted, you’ll benefit from the tax-free Roth later down the line.
If you have the capability, consider qualified longevity annuity contracts (QLAC). You’ll guarantee yourself income with the returns and set monthly payments, as well as reduced taxable income in your early retirement years.
You’ll also want to get a little more aggressive with your investments. Going too aggressive could be disastrous, but not being aggressive enough could leave money on the table. It’s worth it to consult a financial advisor about the best steps to take, considering your starting capital, age until retirement, and financial goals.
Other Retirement PlanningIf you currently live in a high-cost-of-living area like Hawaii or California, you may want to consider moving to an area of the country where retirement living is easier and less expensive. A little research will help you determine unlikely spots where lower and middle-income retirees are living well. While many dream of coastal living, choosing an affordable place to retire can help stretch your hard-earned portfolio for decades.

JD Vance Jokes Karoline Leavitt as Possible VP Paternity Leave Stand-In
Vice President JD Vance recently stepped into the role of White House Press Secretary as Karoline Leavitt remains on maternity leave. And while stand-up comedy isn’t exactly the VP’s strong suit, he started the briefing with a joke that raised eyebrows.
What Did JD Vance Say About Karoline Leavitt? WASHINGTON, DC - APRIL 27: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt speaks during the daily press briefing in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House on April 27, 2026 in Washington, DC. Leavitt spoke to reporters about this weekend's events at the White House Correspondents' dinner. (Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images)After telling the White House Press corps that, “It’s cool to be here,” Vance continued, “I’m going to give a shout out, of course, to the person I am replacing today, Karoline Leavitt. Who hopefully is at home enjoying some time with her beautiful Kids. I told Karoline I would stand in for her today for the White House press briefing on the condition that when Usha has our baby in July that she would be Vice President for a couple weeks.”
Of course, Vance’s comment was only in jest. And yes, the press got the joke (as evidenced by their audible laughter).
How Long Will Karoline Leavitt Stay On Maternity Leave?Leavitt announced her maternity leave in April, right before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. On April 24, she posted a message on Instagram about the upcoming birth of her daughter, adding, “Be back soon!” Little did she know that would mean the following day. While she did briefly return to her official duties immediately following the WHCD, she resumed her maternity leave ASAP and gave birth to baby Vivi on May 1.
The Press Secretary hasn’t given a specific date for her return to work. Based on recent Instagram posts, the new mom of two (she and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, also have an almost-two-year-old son, Niko) is enjoying her time off. Along with an absolutely adorable birth announcement, Leavitt shared a sweet pic of newborn Vivi cuddled on her lap to her Instagram Stories. She also posted several Mother’s Day photos of herself, her own mother, and big brother Niko with the newest member of the Leavitt-Riccio family.
When Will Usha Vance Give Birth? As the VP said in his somewhat silly speech, his wife, Usha, is due in July of 2026. Baby Vance will join the couple’s other children, Ewan (born in 2017), Vivek (born in 2020), and Mirabel (born in 2021).
Is JD Vance a Permanent Replacement for Karloline Leavitt? WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 19: U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrives to a press conference in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House on May 19, 2026 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Heather Diehl/Getty Images)No, Vance is not trading his VP role for the Press Secretary job. Instead of naming one full-time replacement, the administration is switching things up with a rotation of notable names.
Vance isn’t the only politician to take the podium recently. In early May, Secretary of State Marco Rubio served as a stand-in.

National Hamburger Day has quietly become one of the biggest examples.
App-exclusive freebies, rewards points, and limited-time meal deals now dominate many of these campaigns, giving chains a reason to boost app engagement while customers score inexpensive meals or free add-ons.

Parents Refuse Daughter’s Offer of $1,000 a Month for Watching Grandkids— Now She Wants to ‘Sneakily’ Invest It for Them
One lucky mom emailed the Rich Habits Podcast for advice on a delicate situation at home. Her problem? Her parents graciously volunteered to babysit her young kids while she worked. However, they refuse to accept payment for the service. The mom's solution is to invest $1,000 a month for her parents, which she hopes will help them build a solid nest egg for retirement.
While her intentions are good, host Robert Croak warned the caller that there was one major oversight she was making, which could turn her nice gesture into a huge headache for her and her parents. Keep reading to find out what it is.
A Woman Wants to Pay Her Parents for Watching Her KidsA mom named Carrie Ann emailed Croak's podcast, hoping to get advice on how to handle her parents' generosity. According to Wall St 24/7, her parents were refusing to accept any payment for watching her two young children while she works, and she feared that even if she could get them to take some money, they would only turn around and use it to buy junk for the kids.
Croak's solution involved investing $1,000 a month into a joint brokerage account. "It’s super simple," Croak explained. "You could sit down with her, do it in a few minutes, maybe 10 or 15 minutes, get it up and running, and then really set them up."
Related: The Secret To Boosting Your Social Security Check by 30 Percent
His co-host quickly did the math, saying that investing even $900 a month into a dividend-paying EFT could get big results, adding up to around $11,000 a year, which could quickly turn into $469,000 in 20 years.
Opening a Joint Account Like This Could Cause ProblemsWhile the idea is solid, it sounds like the real concern is whose name goes on the account. When the account is opened in both Carrie Ann's and her parents' names, it can open the entire family up to liability that goes both ways.
For example, if Carrie Ann is sued, her parents' assets could be at risk. On the flip side, if her parents are sued, that money could still be at risk, and Carrie Ann would have no way to protect it.
Related: Here's What You Should Spend Your May Social Security Check On, According to Experts
So what should she do? According to Wall St 24/7, there are a few other options available, including:
- Opening the account in just her parents' name
- Opening the account in her name only with the intention of handing the money over at a later date
- Opening a transfer-on-death account in her parents' names with her listed as the beneficiary
Obviously, Croak gave Carrie Ann a lot to consider, but this highlights just how many different ways there are to invest money for retirement...and how many pitfalls can be waiting for you if you don't consider all of your options before getting started.

The 4 Birth Dates That Are Destined for Karmic Relationships
Karmic relationships can be challenging to explain solely through language, but anyone who has experienced their intensity cannot deny their emotive power. In our lifetimes, we may encounter these dynamics in various forms, contributing to our spiritual growth. Often, our unresolved personal patterns play a role in these fated connections. According to the interplay between numerology and astrology, these patterns are influenced by our cosmic makeup. Read on to discover which four birth dates are most likely to be destined to experience karmic relationships.
Which Birth Dates Have Relationship Karma? While everyone carries a certain degree or type of relationship karma, those born on the 6th, 15th, 22nd, and 26th of any month have specific learnings to absorb during this lifetime.
Born on the 6th: Cultivating Self-Protection and ReceptivityRuled by Venus, the planet of relationships, this birth date may carry the most karma around building connections with others. Individuals born on this date are deeply relationship-oriented, often longing for another person to reflect back an energy of love and devotion. In their desire to be accompanied, they may open their hearts hurriedly or blindly, leaving themselves overly exposed.
As part of their relationship's karmic journey, those born on the 6th of any month must cultivate protection for their hearts. As deeply sensitive souls, they must know their limits in terms of receiving as much as they give. They must learn to receive as much as they give to others. By honoring this sacred mirroring effect, they ensure their relationships grow in a balanced and mutually beneficial way.
FURTHER: Your Dream Garden, Based on Your Birth Date
Born on the 15th: Learning Intellectual and Energetic BoundariesIndividuals born on the 15th are deeply focused on relationships due to their strong karmic influences. Guided by Venus, the planet of love and relationships, they carry a natural inclination to engage, converse, and connect with others. These individuals seek constant mental stimulation and fulfilling intellectual connections. They long for relationships that broaden their horizons and enrich their lives.
However, constantly seeking advice or engaging in conversations with others can blur judgment. It can particularly impact their sense of personal confidence and desires, as well as their independent journey. Therefore, individuals born on the 15th must learn to establish clear boundaries, especially intellectual ones. Additionally, they should ensure that their efforts and compassion are reciprocated, as this is essential for their contributions to be valued by those around them.

Born on the 22nd: Finding Rapport Amid Life’s ResponsibilitiesEven forces of nature need love! People born on the 22nd of any month are especially blessed for many reasons. As one of the master numbers, 22 carries a frequency of personal self-mastery and worldly success. Since 22 reduces to 4, which is influenced by the unconventional planet Uranus, those born on this day often crave freedom to innovate in the world.
However, at a deeper level, what 22nd natives crave is a true, real connection. Part of their karmic relationship journey is to balance their disciplined, practical side with their softer, receptive side, making space for rapport to emerge within their connections. By attuning more to their vulnerable, emotional side, they can attract partners who are as talented and unstoppable as they are, even if they show strength differently.

Born on the 26th: Surrendering to Compassion and Relationship FlowIndividuals born on the 26th of any month are exceptionally talented and bold. They have a strong character and the courage to succeed in life. They are ruled by the stern planet Saturn, which tends to make them focus on their professional and material pursuits. However, part of their karmic journey in relationships involves learning to open their hearts.
When they do so, they can access a softer side of themselves, ready for flow and surrender. Time is key for those with birth date 26, who often prefer slow-burning, quality, long-term relationships to flighty ones. Once they fully commit to friendships and romantic connections, their loved ones teach them essential spiritual lessons of surrender, compassion, and the sacred ebb and flow of connection.

Christopher Cross, 75, Played 'Sailing' Live, And His Voice Hasn't Changed One Bit in Over 45 Years
Christopher Cross may have released his legendary song, "Sailing," as a single in 1980, but the yacht rock icon's voice hasn't changed one bit decades later.
Cross, 75, hit the stage at a recent concert and performed the beloved hit, blowing the crowd away with both his ageless appearance and youthful voice. Considering it's been over 45 years since "the song "Sailing" was released as a single, it's incredible to see that the soft rock legend still sounds the same. Captured by @MelMusicReporter, Cross grooved onstage in a navy suit and black hat, and instantly "takes all your worries away" with the hit song.

Cross is Aging like Fine WineThe years have been good to Cross, who looked particularly youthful in photos snapped at his concert on May 19 at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, England. With so many years of music stardom under his belt, it's great to see the musician happy and healthy.

Cross Laughs at the Term 'Yacht Rock'While the musician is often instantly associated with yacht rock, Cross told the Irish Times last week that the term doesn't really mean much to him.
“I certainly didn’t have the money to have a yacht. Never had one. Don’t have one now,” he shared. “I was writing songs and trying to get a deal.”
In fact, "Sailing" doesn't have anything to do with yachts or boating. Instead, the song is about his search for mental peace after a troubled upbringing in San Antonio, Texas. The "canvas" that he sings about in the song has nothing to do with a yacht's sails, but the canvas that a painter uses, he continued.
“The canvas is a painter’s canvas. It has more depth to it than people think. A lot of sailors think it’s their theme song, and that’s fine. Whatever peace it brings to people,” he explained.

Michael J. Fox Thrills Fans at Knicks Game: 'National Treasure!'
Michael J. Fox was sitting courtside at the Knicks game on Tuesday in perhaps what was considered a "Great Scott!" moment in NBA playoff history.
The 'Back to the Future' star, 64, was seated in the famed "Celebrity Row" and was met with resounding cheers and applause from fans at Madison Square Garden when his face flashed on the jumbotron.
@nypostsportsWhoa, this is heavy. Michael J. Fox never misses a big Knicks game
♬ original sound - New York Post SportsAnd fans at home basically had the same reaction.
"National treasure!! Protect Michael J. Fox at all costs!!!" one fan commented on a TikTok clip of his appearance that was shared by the New York Post.
"This guy will NEVER know how cool and how much he means to us!!" added another.
"I hope Michael J. Fox knows that he is an American hero," a third echoed. "We all grew up with him. We will always love him."
"There ain't no Marty McFly without Michael J Fox. PERIOD!!!" another said, referencing his iconic 1985 film that also starred Christopher Lloyd.
As for the game itself, the Knicks won against the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime after a stunning 4th quarter comeback, thanks to a history-making number of points scored by the New York team in the end of the game, according to NBA.com.
Also in "Celebrity Row" for the first playoff game of the series were Ben Stiller, Timothée Chalamet, Jimmy Fallon,Lenny Kravitz and John Leguziamo. Fox was also joined by his wife Tracy Pollan.

Fox's appearance comes weeks after rumors swirled online that the iconic actor had died. Due to an April CNN article entitled “Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox,” fans believed that Fox had passed and that the outlet published his obituary — which ultimately led to the news outlet releasing an apology.
“The package was published in error; we have removed it from our platforms and send our apologies to Michael J. Fox and his family,” a spokesperson for CNN told Parade at the time.
Fox for his part, has taken to Instagram since then. While his post may not have been a direct response to the rumors, it most definitely symbolized his strength and resilience — and sense of humor — as he's suffered from Parkinson's since the 1990s.
“F*ck Parkinson’s,” Fox he captioned a photo alongside boxing legend Freddie Roach.

These Are the Most Common First Symptoms of Hantavirus, According To Infectious Disease Experts
Hantavirus is serious, but should you really be worried? That depends on how much you've been exposed to rodents recently.
While the MV Hondius cruise ship hantavirus outbreak sounds terrifying—there were 11 confirmed cases and three deaths (a 27% fatality rate), per the World Health Organization—the disease typically isn't spread quite as rapidly, even if you're partying on the high seas.
"Hantavirus is not a typical cruise ship pathogen," Dr. Tyler Evans, MD, infectious disease specialist and founder and CEO of Wellness Equity Alliance, tells Parade. "Unlike Norovirus or respiratory viruses that move easily between passengers, hantaviruses are primarily spread through contact with the urine, droppings or saliva of infected rodents, with one important exception: The Andes virus, which circulates in Chile and Argentina, is the only hantavirus documented to transmit from person to person, and it is rare."
The cruise ship with the recent hantavirus outbreak, Dr. Evans says, is "squarely within that virus's range."
"That geography matters," he explains. "It is the most plausible explanation for what we are seeing, and it is also the reason this outbreak should not cause panic among people who have no connection to that part of the world. There is a pattern that has repeated across every major outbreak I have worked on, from HIV in sub-Saharan Africa to COVID-19 in New York City. The acute event commands attention. The structural lesson does not. Cruise ships, whether they carry 6,000 passengers or 150 passengers, are mobile communities that move pathogens across borders faster than any public health system can track them."
That said, hantaviruses can be deadly, with Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife being the highest-profile people to fall victim to them. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 38% of people who develop respiratory symptoms from hantavirus will die from the disease.
What are the most common hantavirus symptoms and what signs of hantavirus will show up first? Find out what they are and how to protect yourself.
imageBROKER/Mikalai Sayevich/Getty Images
Is It Hard To Get Hantavirus?Thankfully, the answer is generally yes. Hantavirus is generally pretty rare, to the point that the American Lung Association noted that there were fewer than 900 cases between 1993 and 2022.
That said, hantavirus is an airborne illness that you can get from inhaling feces, urine or saliva from infected rodents, as well as from infected rodent bites or scratches, as well as from touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your mouth or from eating food contaminated with rodent droppings or bodily fluids. However, things may get complicated and more dangerous with certain strains, as Dr. Evans pointed out previously.

What Are the First Signs of Hantavirus?According to Dr. Mu Tomlinson, MD, CEO of Vituity and author of Less Than One Percent, the first signs of hantavirus can vary, but will typically include some or all of the following, and may appear anywhere between one week to two months after exposure to the virus:
- Fever
- Fatigue/exhaustion
- Muscle aches, especially in the thighs, hips, back and shoulders
- Headache
- Chills
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
These can all also be symptoms of myriad other conditions, from COVID-19, the common cold and flu to simply going too hard at the gym, which makes narrowing down a hantavirus diagnosis tricky—and also makes the illness potentially more dangerous, because you may not realize you have hantavirus until and unless it gets really severe.
Related: What Is the Status of Hantavirus in the U.S.?
What Are Other Hantavirus Symptoms?Other hantavirus symptoms may develop anywhere between four and 10 days after the initial signs mentioned above. The later symptoms can be severe and very dangerous, even deadly, if untreated. Per Dr. Tomlinson, these may include:
- Dry cough
- Chest tightness
- Shortness of breath
- Rapid breathing
- Fluid buildup in the lungs
That last one is the worst of the bunch and can be deadly, and the chest tightness is often a result of fluid filling the lungs, so if you feel it, get help from a physician immediately.
Symptoms that you won't see from hantavirus include sore throat, rash or runny nose, so if you have any of those, let your doctor know just to be safe (because you may still have hantavirus while also, for example, fighting for your life against tree pollen in the spring and summer already).
Related: First Case of Hantavirus Confirmed in North America
Does Hantavirus Live in Old Droppings? It can, but it's less likely. According to the CDC, droppings that are six weeks old or more are less likely to be infected with hantavirus, but you should still avoid them, and if you can't, you must use caution when cleaning them up.
Who Is Most at Risk for Hantavirus?Per the CDC, pregnant people, people with compromised or weakened immune systems and children younger than five years old are at the highest risk of contracting hantavirus and suffering severe symptoms. Exterminators, people with rodents as pets and animal caretakers are also at risk of infection for pretty obvious reasons: They're simply exposed to droppings, saliva and urine more often and more likely to be bitten or scratched due to their proximity to rodents that can carry the virus.
Related: Tragedy at Sea: 3 Passengers Dead From Suspected Hantavirus on Cruise Ship
Is It Possible To Have Hantavirus and Not Know It?It sure is. Testing for hantavirus can be difficult, and because so many hantavirus symptoms overlap with our respiratory illnesses, many people who are infected don't realize it.
How Long After Exposure to Mouse Droppings Can You Get Sick? You may get sick from hantavirus anywhere between one week to eight weeks after exposure to rodent droppings.
What Kills Hantavirus? In terms of surfaces, you can kill hantavirus with disinfectants or with a solution of one part bleach to nine parts water. Wear gloves and a protective mask, spray the area and let it sit for about five minutes before using a paper towel to pick up any droppings and dispose in the trash, then take that trash out.
When you get back inside, wash your hands with gloves on for two minutes, then remove and dispose of the gloves and wash your bare hands for another two minutes.
Here are more tips to kill hantavirus on various surfaces and how to prevent it from invading your space to begin with.
If you're talking about wanting to nix a hantavirus infection, there is no magic bullet or pill for that—since it's a virus and not a bacterial infection, antibiotics won't help. Your best bet is to manage symptoms with a doctor's help and supervision until you recover.
"Treatment mainly focuses on oxygen support, IV fluids, blood pressure support and intensive care monitoring," Dr. Tomlinson tells Parade. "Severe cases may require ventilators, ICU admission or ECMO (heart-lung bypass support)."

Is Hantavirus Killed by Lysol?Lysol disinfectant can, in fact, kill hantavirus—but be sure it's an actual disinfectant, because not all Lysol-branded products are.
Does Washing Clothes Get Rid of Hantavirus? The CDC recommends washing clothes with a hot water cycle if you suspect you've been exposed to hantavirus. If your washing machine has a sanitize cycle, that's even better.
Is It Safe To Vacuum Old Mouse Droppings? Please, no! Vacuuming or sweeping rodent droppings can send hantavirus particles into the air, making you more likely to inhale them.

1987 Power Ballad, Originally Written for Another Music Icon, Became a Defining Love Anthem 39 Years Ago
In 1987, Whitesnake released a hit power ballad that became a staple love song for fans and one of their biggest concert crowd pleasers.
The theme of love has been central to some of the music genre's greatest hits, and Whitesnake's "Is This Love" is no different. The track was released 39 years ago on May 18 as the second single of their self-titled album. It was a success for the band, landing at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts after the chart-topping hit "Here I Go Again" was released years earlier.
UltimateClassicRock even tags "Is This Love" as one of the best power ballads of all time at No. 29 on their list. Ever since its release, it's been a mainstay for the band at their live concerts and has been rereleased several times as part of their live albums. Believe it or not, "Is This Love" was never written or intended to be sung by Whitesnake.
The power ballad was written by vocalist David Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes during the early days of their album, which they worked on in the South of France. According to American Songwriter, the song was originally written and intended for music legend Tina Turner. Coverdale revealed in one of the band's YouTube videos in 2022 that he got a call from friends at EMI Records looking for new material for Turner.
"My friends and associates at EMI Records were looking for songs to follow up Tina’s astonishing success story. The album with ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’ was huge. Global. And they were looking for songs, and they knew I was going away to do the old correlation of song ideas and said, ‘If you come up with anything that you think might be good for Tina’—because they knew I was a huge fan—‘let us know,'" he explained.

The two band members soon jetted off to France to work on new songs, with Coverdale admitting he liked working during the day, while Sykes would stay up into the late hours of the night. Coverdale remembers how the guitarist staggered into the room in the middle of the day with coffee and heard the working demo of "Is This Love."
“And he said, ‘Oh, what’s that? That’s nice.’ I said, ‘It’s not for us, it’s for Tina Turner,'" he recalled.
When producer David Geffen heard the demo, he was the one to tell Coverdale the track would stay with Whitesnake and become their next hit. "Is This Love" went through its doubts by Coverdale, who felt the keyboard notes gave the track a pop feel that fans weren't used to from the band. The track did ruffle some feathers, but undoubtedly became a staple for the band.
The Famous Voice Behind Home Depot Ads Is Finally Revealed—and Fans Definitely Know Him
For over a decade, you've heard his voice on Home Depot television and radio commercials. Now,Palm Royale star Josh Lucas is finally taking center stage for the beloved home improvement brand in a dynamic new FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.
In the commercial, Lucas teams up with global sports icon David Beckham to transform a backyard into "the ultimate watch party zone." Speaking from a Home Depot via telephone, Lucas guides Beckham—and viewers—through the challenge with the flair of a sports commentator.
"Is David Beckham ready? I suppose he thinks he can build it like Beckham," Lucas says, with a playful nod to the 2002 movie, Bend It Like Beckham. Speaking with PEOPLEabout the commercial, Lucas explained how it all came to fruition: "When the company came to me with the idea, at the time they called it 'Revealing the Voice.' I was like, 'Are you kidding me? It's something I would be so totally honored to do.'"
The Yellowstone actor also noted that fans tend to recognize his voice more than his face, thanks to his long-running Home Depot gig. "I'll walk into a Home Depot, and people are like, 'Oh my God.' Oftentimes, they say to me, 'Oh, I recognized your voice before I actually put it together that it was you.'"
As for working with both Home Depot and Beckham, Lucas is humbled to have his passions collide in the best of ways. He told PEOPLE, "My grandfather was a builder. I can hack anything, so I definitely feel like I am lucky that I get to be part of a company that I, frankly, would use whether I was involved or not."
"I played soccer growing up. I'm a huge FIFA World Cup fan. And I'm a massive David Beckham fan. I can't even like overstate it, frankly. I've been joking with my wife [ABC7 meteorologist/reporter Brianna Ruffalo] ever since that I have the worst man crush ever now on David Beckham," Lucas added. "It's rare that you walk away from a day of work like that and you feel, like all the stars aligned."
The 4 Luckiest Birth Years, According to Expert Numerologists
The year you were born is an essential number in numerology, tied to your cosmic path and greater soul purpose. Each serves a divine purpose, with each generation ushering in a new universal responsibility. However, expert numerologists point out which birth years are often considered auspicious or lucky. Whether they're here to inspire change, spread their gifts, or challenge the status quo, read on to discover which four birth years are considered the most blessed below.
Which Birth Year Numbers Are Most Auspicious?Check your birth year below. Disregard your birth month and day.
Your birth year is converted to a single digit by adding together the digits of the year. For example, if someone was born in 1954, the calculation would be: 1 + 9 + 5 + 4 = 19 → 1 + 9 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1. Fortunately, the calculations for every birth year from 1951 to 2026 have already been considered and are listed below, if applicable.

As versatile learners, they explore a variety of passion projects and exciting experiences. However, when they focus on their favorite topic, skill, or outlet, they can achieve remarkable success.
Abundance tends to follow them, as long as they pursue their curious joy. The number three is ruled by Jupiter, the planet associated with expansive luck, suggesting that those born in this year have their stars aligned. This generation is called to inspire others with their authenticity, encouraging free thought, confidence, and a spirit of experimental playfulness.
Birth Year 7 — The Divinely ProtectedBorn in 1951, 1960, 1969, 1978, 1987, 1996, 2005, or 2014

People born in a year whose digits add up to 8 are part of a collective, generational effort to reclaim power. Ruled by Saturn, the planet of karmic discipline, they often achieve great feats due to their unstoppable resilience.
From a young age, they carry the wisdom and perspective of old souls. Therefore, they typically have a heightened awareness of the material plane, which can lead to career success, excellent money management, and a strong foundation that benefits those who follow in their footsteps. Overall, this birth year group is fortunate because they foster a meaningful destiny that not only improves what they inherit but also enhances the lives of others under their leadership.
Birth Year 9 — The Karmic ChangemakerBorn in 1953, 1962, 1971, 1980, 1989, 1998, 2007, or 2016

Courageous in the face of injustice, they create change by setting trends and encouraging others to reflect on what truly matters. Their luck continues to flourish as long as they challenge the status quo and pursue their higher vision.

1974 Horror Film's Most Terrifying Scene Took 27 Hours Straight to Shoot - Cast Went 'Insane'
Imagine this: Deep into a brutal Texas summer night in 1973, inside a remote farmhouse with no air conditioning, and the temperature has climbed to a grueling 115 degrees. Rotting meat hangs from the ceiling as props, filling the air with an overwhelming stench. The cast has been filming for 20 hours straight. Then 22. Then 25.
They still have more to go.
This was the unimaginable reality behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's infamous dinner scene — five minutes of macabre footage that became one of horror cinema's most disturbing sequences.
The problem started with John Dugan, the actor playing the ancient, corpse-like Grandpa. Getting him camera-ready required an intense 10-hour makeup application. When filming day arrived, Dugan made one thing absolutely clear: he wasn't going through that process twice.
Director Tobe Hooper had no other choice. Everything would have to be filmed in a single marathon shoot.
Twenty-seven hours later, they finally wrapped the scene.
"By that point we were really just on the verge of mental collapse," Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface, later recalled. "I think all of us were slightly insane by then."
The conditions were horrendous. Hot film lights blazed in an un-air-conditioned room. The rotting meat — authentic animal parts baking for weeks — made breathing nearly impossible. Between takes, actors ran to windows, gasping for air and vomiting from the stench.
They couldn't change their clothes. Due to budget restrictions, each actor had only one single costume. By hour 20, everyone on set reeked. By hour 25, they'd stopped caring.
Marilyn Burns, who played Sally Hardesty, had it the worst. Strapped to a chair for most of those 27 hours while men in grotesque makeup loomed over her, screaming and jabbing with props, she wasn't acting terrified anymore. She was actually terrified.
The marathon pushed everyone beyond reason. When the fake blood rig for Sally's finger-cutting scene kept clogging after multiple takes, an exhausted Hansen simply removed the safety tape and cut Burns for real. "At this point I was so crazy that I just wanted to get the film over with," he later admitted.
Why That Suffering Still MattersAs a lifelong horror fan, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre still stands as the most macabre movie in cinema history. I've watched it at least a hundred times, and it always gives me the chills. That authenticity — especially in the dinner scene — is why.
Photo by Movie Poster Image Art on Getty Images
Everything about it is psychologically terrifying: being bound to a chair made of human bones with chaos erupting around you, unable to escape. The family's cheering, jeering, and sneering. And the most frightening moment — when they hold Sally still and push her head over the bucket while trying to have Grandpa slaughter her with a hammer. Only he's too weak, so the family keeps holding it in his hands, simulating the motion, missing repeatedly. All while screaming, taunting, and terrorizing her beyond the brink of sanity.
The whole scene stops me cold. Every single time.
Knowing the conditions behind it matters: What you're watching on screen isn't acting. It's real people pushed beyond their breaking point. Marilyn Burns' genuine terror after 27 hours strapped down, the cast's actual exhaustion and derangement — that's what makes it work decades later.
From "Sick Crap" to MasterpieceThe film was born from chaotic creativity. Late in winter, Hooper and co-writer, Kim Henkel, would meet nightly at Hooper's unfurnished apartment. They'd sit on the dining room floor working out scenes, then Henkel would bang out the pages on an old typewriter. His goal: keep Hooper happy with each draft page.
Nobody was happy during that 27-hour shoot.
Shot on a dismal budget starting at $60,000 and ballooning past $100,000, the production was absolutely brutal. Cast members wore the same sweat-soaked, blood-stained costumes every single day. By production's end, they avoided eating near Hansen because his wool Leatherface costume — never washed in triple-digit heat — smelled so horrendous.
When the film opened in October 1974, critics savaged it. One viewer called the movie "sick crap." Even the Rice University football team blamed it for their loss to Arkansas.
But, then critic Rex Reed told readers to "run, not walk" to theaters. And then they received a Cannes invitation. Even the Museum of Modern Art acquired a print of the movie poster.
Fifty years later, it's called "a perfect horror film" and "one of the most emulated genre films of the last half century."
Why does it endure? Because Hooper captured something vulnerable and raw — human beings at their absolute limits, their exhaustion and fear bleeding through the screen.
Those people in that dinner scene weren't acting anymore. After 27 hours in that heat, breathing that stench, they'd crossed over into something else entirely. Insanity fueled by fear.
Knowing what they endured gives the film new appreciation. Sometimes the most effective horror happens in between takes. And sometimes suffering becomes art that terrifies us a hundred viewings later.
