The Most Expensive Celebrity Wedding Dresses, Ranked, Amid Taylor Swift Wedding Buzz

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 5:52pm

With all eyes on Madison Square Garden as buzz over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding reaches a fever pitch, one question remains: What will the bride wear, and who will design her wedding dress? When it comes to dressing for their big day, celebrities spare no expense, recruiting the world's top fashion designers to create the perfect look for their fairytale moment.

For celebrities likeSerena Williams, Kim Kardashian, Kate Middleton, and Sofia Richie Grainge, creating the perfect wedding dress comes with months of planning, secret meetings, and a hefty price tag. A new ranking reveals the most expensive celebrity wedding dresses ever worn, serving as a who's who of famous brides and their unforgettable bridal looks.

Serena Williams Wears the Most Expensive Celebrity Wedding Dress View this post on Instagram

In November 2017, tennis legend and entrepreneur Serena Williams married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in front of 250 guests in New Orleans. To complement the Beauty and the Beast-themed décor, Williams chose a strapless ballgown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She paired the billowing gown with a matching cape before changing into two different Versace looks for the reception.

At a reported cost of $3.5 million, Williams' gown is the most expensive celebrity wedding dress ever worn. With an estimated net worth of nearly $400 million, the tennis icon could certainly afford the lavish bridal look.

Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding Dress Is Fit for a Future Queen

While Princess Diana's wedding gown remains one of the most iconic in history, Kate Middleton's is among the most expensive. Also designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the future Queen of England's gown featured long lace sleeves, a plunging V-neckline, and an elegant eight-foot train.

Middleton's dress was a perfect fit for her April 2011 wedding at Westminster Abbey and carried a royal-worthy price tag of approximately $434,000.

Kim Kardashian's Designer Gown Turned Heads View this post on Instagram

Reality star and business mogul Kim Kardashian's wedding to rapper Kanye West was one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the decade. Never one to miss a fashion moment, Kardashian wore a form-fitting long-sleeve lace gown designed by Givenchy.

The SKIMS founder reportedly spent about $500,000 on the gown, which perfectly showcased her signature style.

Sofia Richie Grainge and Priyanka Chopra Chose Couture Bridal Looks

Influencer Sofia Richie Grainge, daughter of singer Lionel Richie, stunned in a $400,000 beaded Chanel gown featuring a dramatic open back for her April 2023 wedding to music executive Elliott Grainge.

Actress Priyanka Chopra married pop star Nick Jonas at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in India in 2018. Blending their Indian and American heritages, Chopra wore custom Jimmy Choo heels and a personalized Ralph Lauren wedding gown originally valued at around $2 million—equivalent to nearly $2.6 million in 2026. The embroidered gown took nearly 2,000 hours to create, featured more than two million pearls, and included a breathtaking 75-foot tulle veil.

Victoria Beckham and David Beckham have one of the most enduring marriages in sports and entertainment after tying the knot at an Irish castle in 1999. The former Spice Girl and soccer superstar were famous for their coordinated fashion choices, often matching from head to toe.

Victoria's strapless Vera Wang satin ballgown was a fitting choice for the future fashion designer. While luxurious, it wasn't among the most expensive celebrity wedding dresses. Her gown reportedly cost $100,000, the equivalent of about $195,000 in 2026.

Some Celebrity Brides Chose Surprisingly Affordable Wedding Looks

Despite having seemingly unlimited budgets, not every celebrity chooses an extravagant wedding dress.

Model Emily Ratajkowski married Sebastian Bear-McClard in a New York courthouse in 2018 wearing a mustard-yellow two-piece suit from Zara that reportedly cost just $200. Pop star—and Taylor Swift's close friend—Lana Del Rey wore a $400 vintage gown for her 2024 wedding.

Meanwhile, despite an estimated net worth of around $80 million, Frozen star Kristen Bellskipped a traditional wedding dress altogether, opting instead for a simple black top and pants for her 2013 courthouse wedding to actorDax Shepard.

Taylor Swift's Wedding Dress Could Join This Iconic List

Taylor Swift's wedding is shaping up to be one of the biggest celebrity events of 2026. Known for her impeccable fashion sense and love of meaningful details, whatever she chooses to wear is likely to dominate headlines and inspire bridal trends long after she says "I do."

Whether Swift opts for understated elegance or an elaborate couture creation, her wedding dress is almost certain to be compared with the most iconic—and expensive—celebrity bridal gowns ever worn.

Country Star Earns 32nd No. 1 Hit Song Amid 2026 Tour

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 5:41pm

Country singer Jason Aldean hit an exciting milestone on Friday.

The 49-year-old earned a No. 1 hit song on the country radio charts with his song "Don't Tell On Me," which marked his 32nd song to reach this accomplishment.

"Don't Tell on Me" by Aldean is an emotional, rock-infused country song about a guy hiding his heartbreak. The singer pleads with his own heart to keep quiet and help him play it cool, begging it not to reveal how badly he is hurting and that he is still in love with his ex. The song served as the second single for Aldean's 12th studio album, Songs About Us, which was released on April 24. "Don't Tell on Me" was put out in early March.

View the original article to see embedded media.

The track was written by Tully Kennedy and Kurt Allison, who have been songwriting and collaborating with Aldean even before he reached the national spotlight. They both wrote "Don't Tell on Me" with Aldean in mind.

"When you're going through something, the only thing that really knows the truth is your heart," Kennedy told Billboard in March. "So you try to put up a front to people — you know, your friends — and really, it can be kind of a charade when it's all said and done. So writing something about that, where it's just the heart not tipping your hand."

More than 30 of Aldean's 41 singles have reached No. 1 on either the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts, including "Amarillo Sky", "She's Country", "Big Green Tractor", "Crazy Town", "My Kinda Party", "When She Says Baby", "Burnin' It Down", "You Make It Easy", "If I Didn't Love You", "Try That in a Small Town," "Whiskey Drink" and more.

When Aldean reached 30 songs hitting No. 1, he spoke with Billboard and went through every single chart-topping song and explained the meaning of each one. His first No. 1 hit was "Why," which was crowned on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late May 2006, and served as the second single from his self-titled debut album.

"Our first single had, you know, took like 40-something weeks to crack the top 10. And you know, our first No. 1," Aldean reminisced. "I just remember thinking, 'Man, if all this goes away tomorrow, I can at least say I had a No. 1 single.'"

Look how far he has come now.

Aldean grew up in Georgia with his mother, but spent summers in Florida with his father, who taught him how to play guitar. After performing locally with a band during his teenage years, he was approached by longtime producer and music executive Michael Knox and released his self-titled debut album in 2006, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Since then, he has released twelve studio albums.

"I love it, I love going in the studio, working on these things and creating new music and working on this that we think are really cool," he told Nashville Music Now on a red carpet. "[I get] a chance to put them out and see what everybody has to say about it and thinks about them."

Aldean has been on the road all summer with his Full Throttle Tour, which he announced back in January. On July 16, he will be starting the summer leg of the national tour, opening in Maine, then performing in multiple states such as New York, Kansas, North Carolina, New Jersey, Missouri, Oklahoma, California, West Virginia and more, before concluding in Florida on Oct. 4.

In addition, Aldean is continuing to perform co-headlining stadium shows for the Double Down Tour 2026 with Luke Bryan. The extended run will officially end in December in Las Vegas.

"Don't Tell On Me" and Aldean's entire discography can be listened to on all streaming platforms. Tickets and more information for his upcoming Songs About Us Tour and festival appearances this month can be found on Aldean's official website.

'80s New Wave Frontman Says He ‘Can’t Imagine’ Making Another Album Following Long-Awaited Return

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 5:40pm

The frontman of the classic new wave band, Dexys Midnight Runners, spoke about the band's future in a new interview while fans await the group's first new album under their original name since 1985.

Kevin Rowland, who has been with the band as a singer and guitarist since its formation in 1978, spoke with Mojo magazine about Dexys Midnight Runners and the upcoming album, LOVE. At one point, the publication noted that the new album "feels like you're looking back and tying up a lot of loose ends," before asking, "Will there be another one after this?"

Rowland's answer is probably not the one fans were hoping for. He said, "It felt like the last album when we were making it, and to be honest, right now, I don't feel like making another one."

"Never say never," he added, making it clear that his feelings on the topic could change down the line. "I don't want to be one of those people that comes back and says: I've changed my mind! But right now, I can't imagine it. It takes so much out of me."

The musician explained that part of the reason for not wanting to produce another album is that he likes to get things "exactly right," and it can take a lot of time and effort. As for his feelings on LOVE, Rowland declared, "I'm really happy with this record. It feels like a good ending."

'80s Glam Metal Icon and Lead Singer of Beloved Supergroup Turns 70

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 5:29pm

By the time glam metal took over the 1980s, Stephen Pearcy had already helped give the genre one of its most recognizable voices.

The Ratt frontman and Arcade lead singer turns 70 on July 3, marking another milestone for a musician whose career helped define the sound and attitude of the Sunset Strip era.

Pearcy was born July 3, 1956, and became best known as the founder, lead singer and songwriter of Ratt. The band formed in Los Angeles in 1982 after Pearcy's earlier group Mickey Ratt, and quickly became one of the major names of the decade's glam metal scene.

Ratt's breakthrough came with the release of Out of the Cellar in 1984, an album that helped bring the band's sharp hooks, flashy style and hard-rock edge to a much wider audience. Its biggest single, "Round and Round," became the band's signature song and remains one of the most recognizable glam metal tracks of the era.

Pearcy's voice was a major part of that success. With Ratt, he helped lead songs such as "Round and Round," "Lay It Down," "Wanted Man," "You're in Love" and "Back for More," giving the band a sound that stood out during one of rock's most crowded and competitive decades.

After his time with Ratt, Pearcy continued building his career through other projects, including Arcade, the glam metal supergroup he formed in the early 1990s. The band featured musicians connected to acts such as Cinderella, Sea Hags and Gypsy Rose, giving Pearcy another outlet after years fronting one of the biggest names in '80s metal.

He also released solo music and remained active as a performer, keeping his connection to Ratt's catalog and glam metal history alive for fans who still return to the songs decades later.

For Pearcy, that longevity has come from a lasting connection to the work itself. In a 2021 interview with The Cosmick View, he said, "I keep busy...record and write songs all the time." He also explained why he has stayed in music for so long, adding, "Overall, the music business, I love it. You know, I wouldn't be doing it this long."

As Pearcy celebrates his 70th birthday, his place in rock history remains tied to a loud, flashy and unforgettable era. From Ratt's rise on the Sunset Strip to his later work with Arcade and beyond, his voice helped shape glam metal at its peak and left an impact that still carries through the genre today.

The United States Doesn’t Have an Official Whiskey–One Distillery Is Trying to Change That

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 5:21pm

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Americans are marking the occasion with fireworks, hot dogs, and all of the Fourth of July traditions we’ve come to know and love.

For some, that includes adult beverages, but if you’re going to lean into the Americana of it all, shouldn’t your drink choice be as American as possible? For whiskey lovers, that’s a little tricky, as the country doesn’t have an official type of whiskey. But one distillery is aiming to change that.

Related: This New England Hidden Gem Was Just Named the Best New Bar in America

WhistlePig Distillery is set on making rye the country’s official whiskey, even going so far as to ask fans to sign a petition to take the request to Congress. The brand’s website reads, “America has an official bird. An official flower. An official anthem. And for 250 years, no official whiskey. As America turns 250, that changes. Long before the United States existed, Rye thrived in tough conditions where other grains fell short. It was here before bourbon, before Tennessee whiskey, before any of it. The grain that fed this country in its hardest years and filled its glasses on the best ones has never gotten official recognition.”

The brand explains that rye was a popular spirit during the time of the Founding Fathers, pointing out that George Washington even had his own rye distillery. According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, it was one of “the largest whiskey distilleries in early America.”

Related: WhistlePig Fans Say Latest Launch Is the Distillery’s ‘Best One Yet’

While it may take some time for Congress to listen to the brand’s plea, WhistlePig recently made history in another way with the inclusion of its Louisville, Kentucky tasting room into the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The WhistlePig Vault, where customers can sample not just Whistlepig’s wide selection of rye, wheat whiskey, and bourbon that’s currently on the market, but rare finds like its annual limited-edition Boss Hog releases, took a former bank building and turned it into an upscale and unique experience. As evidenced by the current petition to make rye the official whiskey of the United States, Whistlepig is known primarily for its dedication to bringing rye back into the forefront of the whiskey industry, but that is not all it wants to be known for.

WhistlePig Vault in Louisville, Kentucky

WhistlePig

“For a brand that helped redefine Rye for a new generation of whiskey drinkers, joining the Kentucky Bourbon Trail is both a milestone and a signal of where we’re headed,” Kevin Didio, General Manager at the WhistlePig Vault, told Parade. “While Rye will always be at the heart of WhistlePig, this moment reflects the evolution of our portfolio and our growing presence in bourbon, all while staying rooted in the bold, rebellious spirit that built the brand.”

Target Is Selling the Sweetest Hooded Throw Blanket Perfect For Getting Cozy While Your AC Is Cranked

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

I know it sounds a little backward to be shopping for cozy blankets when it's upwards of 90 degrees outside, but hear me out. Summer has a funny way of turning us into people who bounce between two completely different climates. One minute you're melting in the driveway, and the next you're inside a grocery store, movie theater or living room where the air conditioning is working overtime. That's exactly the moment you're wishing you had something soft to wrap yourself in while you answer emails, settle in for a movie or sip your iced coffee.

It's for this reason I never completely retire my throw blankets for the season. They just take on a different role. Instead of keeping me warm on a snowy night, they're my defense against aggressively chilled AC. And if a blanket happens to be as cute as it is cozy — that's even better.

It has an oversized, relaxed fit that's made for curling up on the couch with a reading pillow. The soft jersey exterior and plush faux sherpa lining make it feel extra soft without being too heavy.

There are two roomy side pockets for keeping your hands warm or stashing your phone and TV remote, plus it's machine washable, so you don't have to think twice about using it every day. The sweet, ditzy floral print is what really makes it stand out — it has a charming, cutesy femininity.

A Target shopper says this throw is exactly what they were looking for, but the nearly $40 price tag did make them hit pause at first.

"It's extremely cozy, but not so thick that it would cause you to overheat," they wrote in their review. "The pattern is very cute. I'm a women's size 16 and it fits me with plenty of room. The price is a little steep and is definitely because of the Hollister label. Still, I'd give it a solid 5 stars."

The Hollister Collection at Target ranges in price from $19.95 for throw pillows to $64.95 for comforter sets.

The iconic bass part carrying the song forward with the wailing guitar harmonies is such a legendary musical moment that must have been incredible to see live. Bassist Rob Trujillo is also killing it. It's not the most difficult line in the world during this section, but the tone and emotion he's getting out of his bass is really great. It's nice to see Cliff's music being performed with such reverence.

Fans absolutely loved the performance, taking to the comments to express their appreciation for the legendary track.

"Best of the BEST!!🤘"

"My favorite song!!🤪🥰🤪"

"One of the best instrumentals."

Every night that "Orion" is performed, Cliff Burton's memory lives on, and every single not of that bass part is a tribute to a legend that everyone should know. There is no Metallica with Cliff Burton, whether that's in person or in spirit. He was a unique revolutionary that changed rock and heavy metal music forever with his hard, fast, and innovative style.

Country Star With Major No. 1 Hit Releases New Song Amid 2026 Tour

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 4:43pm

Not only have Riley Green's American fans been observing the Fourth of July this weekend, but they will also be celebrating this amazing news.

Green, who is currently embarking on his Cowboy As It Gets Tour around the United States and Canada, announced via Instagram that a new song, "Go Again," featuring Hannah McFarland, is finally out on streaming platforms. McFarland, who is also a rising country singer, is one of the supporting acts for Green's ongoing tour.

On Thursday, Green shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram, announcing that it will be out "tonight at midnight." McFarland immediately commented, "Trying to play it cool rn but finding it difficult."

In another post, McFarland also wrote, "I get to celebrate America and a song release in the same weekend? What dreams are made of really."

View the original article to see embedded media.

"Go Again" is a slow-burning country duet about the push-and-pull of knowing it's time to say goodbye, but wanting to stay for just one more moment. It explores the lingering vulnerability of two people who don't have time to fall in love but can't resist each other. The song will be the fourth track out of 18 for Green's upcoming album, That's Just Me, which is set to be released on Sept. 18. Two other singles, "My Way" and "Think As You Drunk," were released earlier this year.

According to a press release, That's Just Me was "written and recorded during a pivotal year in Green’s life and in the midst of the biggest tour of his career to date."

"That’s Just Me is a deeply personal multi-faceted body of work that captures the many sides of the country singer as both an artist and songwriter," Green wrote. The album was produced by Dann Huff, and the project "explores everything from fleeting love and lingering heartbreak to beachy escapism and country pride in his plainspoken, lived-in style."

The 37-year-old musician grew up in Alabama and played football at Jacksonville State University, but dropped out two years later to pursue a music career. Green started off playing local shows around Alabama and the South before dropping his debut single, "There Was This Girl," which received positive reviews from country critics and achieved commercial success. It even peaked across several country music charts, including No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay in April 2019.

The musician has had multple of his songs (as a solo artist or as a collaborator) top various mainstream and country charts, including "Don't Mind If I Do" and "you look like you love me," both collaborations with Ella Langley, as well as "Worst Way," which is featured in his EP Way Out Here and his most recent album, Don't Mind If I Do.

Green described his success to Billboard as "accidental," with the publication writing it as "his humble Southern way of saying he simply put in the work the old-fashioned way."

"I didn’t do anything better than anybody else,” he said. "[People] just came to my shows and streamed my music to where people in Nashville were like, ‘Holy hell, take a look at this.'"

Green has been on his Cowboy As It Gets Tour since April 2026, and the next leg will start up again next Thursday, where he will be performing at the Country Concert festival in Ohio. In addition, he has set to have concerts in various states, including Utah, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and more, all the way up until the end of the year. Opening acts supporting his tour include McFarland, Clint Black, Drake White, Mackenzie Carpenter, Adam Hood, Zach John King, Randy Houser and Kashus Culpepper.

Festival appearances this summer include Sunfest Country, the Great Jones County Fair, Jiffy Lube Live, St. Pete Country Fest, Rock the Country and Country Jam USA.

"Go Again (featuring Hannah McFarland)" is out now on all streaming platforms. Tickets for his ongoing tour can be found on Green's official website, and his fourth studio album, That's Just Me, will be out on Sept. 18.

Best-Selling Author’s Classic Novel Ranked Among ‘Most Popular Books’ on Goodreads

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 4:35pm

One unforgettable character was all it took to launch Gail Honeyman's literary career.

When Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine was published in 2017, the Scottish author's debut novel quickly became a word-of-mouth sensation. Nearly a decade later, its popularity shows no signs of slowing, with the book continuing to rank among Goodreads' most popular titles as readers discover, and rediscover, its poignant blend of humor, heartbreak and hope.

At the center of the novel is Eleanor Oliphant, a socially isolated office worker whose carefully structured routine begins to unravel after an unexpected friendship changes the course of her life.

"Although she's had a fairly catastrophic start, Eleanor is the agent of her own life," Honeyman told The Guardian in 2018. "I didn’t want her to be portrayed as a victim, and I didn't want her to be self-pitying either. I tried to leave space in the narrative so that the reader can feel those feelings on her behalf."

As Eleanor slowly confronts the trauma that has shaped her past, the story unfolds into a moving exploration of loneliness, healing and the transformative power of human connection.

View this post on Instagram

"I remembered reading an article in which a young woman, living in a big city, said that unless she went out of her way to make arrangements in advance, she’d often find herself not speaking to another human being from the time she left work on Friday night until her return to the office on Monday morning, and not by choice," Honeyman sad in an interview with Penguin Random House. "I started to wonder how such a situation could come about. When loneliness is discussed, it’s often in the context of the elderly, but I began to think about how it might manifest itself in younger people, and whether the issues might be slightly different for them."

Readers embraced the novel that sprang forth from that moment of inspiration almost immediately.

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine became an international bestseller, selling millions of copies worldwide while earning widespread critical acclaim. In 2017, it also won the Costa First Novel Award, with judges praising Honeyman's remarkable ability to balance emotional depth with wit and compassion.

The book's success extended far beyond traditional bestseller lists. It became a favorite among book clubs, librarians and online reading communities, where readers connected deeply with Eleanor's unconventional voice and personal journey. Recommendations on Goodreads, BookTok and other social platforms have continued introducing the novel to new audiences years after its original publication.

The runaway success of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine also established Honeyman as one of contemporary fiction's most closely watched authors. Although it was her debut, the novel demonstrated a confident storytelling style that resonated with readers around the world, proving that emotionally driven character studies could become global publishing phenomena.

Its continued presence among Goodreads' most popular books reflects the lasting impact the story has had on readers. Nearly 10 years after its release, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine continues to remind audiences that kindness, friendship and second chances can emerge in the most unexpected places, securing its reputation as one of the defining novels of its generation.

1984 New Wave Song Was the U.K.’s Longest-Running No. 1 of the Decade but Missed America’s Top 40

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 4:09pm

One of the biggest hits of the 1980s in the U.K. was a song from a new wave band called Frankie Goes to Hollywood, a group formed in 1980. The track in question, "Two Tribes," is an anti-war song centered around a continuous bass line and moody vocals. It features lyrics like, "When two tribes go to war/ A point is all you can score."

"Two Tribes" came out on June 4, 1984, as a single and was released as part of the album Welcome to the Pleasuredome later the same year. It was instantly a huge success in the United Kingdom, topping the U.K. Singles chart and holding the position for nine weeks. By the end of the 1980s, "Two Tribes" was still the longest-running No. 1 song of the decade. Even now, "Two Tribes" remains one of the top 50 best-selling songs in U.K. history.

During the song's long chart run, another of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's hits, "Relax," climbed the charts again after being No. 1 for weeks at the start of 1984. It eventually reached No. 2.

"Two Tribes" was also a hit in other countries, topping charts in Germany (West Germany at the time), New Zealand, the Netherlands, Ireland, Greece, and Belgium. But even with such extreme success for "Two Tribes" overseas, it didn't exactly translate over to America.

"Two Tribes" charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984, but its peak wasn't even in the Top 40. The highest it got was No. 43. Meanwhile, "Relax" peaked at No. 10 earlier in the year. It's a wonder why "Two Tribes" didn't resonate with American audiences as much as U.K. fans.

But in the end, because of the combo of hits with "Relax" and "Two Tribes," Frankie Goes to Hollywood earned a Grammy nomination in 1985 for Best New Artist.

1975 Rock Song, Originally a Powerful American Anthem, Remains a Classic 51 Years Later

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 4:05pm

Few songs have captured the promise and uncertainty of the American dream as vividly as "Born to Run."

Released in 1975 as the title track from Bruce Springsteen's breakthrough album, the soaring rock epic became the song that introduced "The Boss" to a national audience. Although it stopped short of becoming a major chart smash, its cinematic storytelling, towering production and themes of escape and possibility transformed it into one of the most enduring American anthems in rock history.

The song arrived at a pivotal moment in Springsteen's career.

After two critically acclaimed but commercially modest albums, Springsteen knew his future as a recording artist depended on his next release. He spent months painstakingly crafting "Born to Run," determined to create a song that captured the excitement of classic rock while telling a deeply personal story about young people yearning for something more.

"I had these enormous ambitions," Springsteen later told Rolling Stone. "I wanted to make the greatest rock record that I'd ever heard. I wanted it to sound enormous, to grab you by your throat and insist that you take that ride, insist that you pay attention – not just to the music, but to life, to being alive."

The gamble paid off.

Released as the lead single from Born to Run, the song reached the Billboard Hot 100 and helped propel the album into the Top 10, turning Springsteen into one of rock's brightest new stars. Its emotional intensity, Phil Spector-inspired "Wall of Sound" production and unforgettable saxophone work from Clarence Clemons made it unlike anything else on the radio.

More importantly, "Born to Run" became something bigger than a hit single. Its lyrics about chasing freedom, leaving the past behind and believing in the possibility of a better future resonated with listeners across generations. Rather than celebrating America uncritically, the song embraced the hope, resilience and restless optimism that have long been central to the country's cultural identity.

Over the decades, "Born to Run" has remained the centerpiece of Springsteen's live performances, often serving as the emotional climax of his concerts. It has appeared on countless lists of the greatest rock songs ever recorded and continues to inspire artists across rock, country and Americana, while its opening guitar riff remains instantly recognizable to fans around the world.

"You can change someone's life in three minutes with the right song," Springsteen told The Guardian. "I still believe that to this day. You can bend the course of their development, what they think is important, of how vital and alive they feel. You can contextualize very, very difficult experiences. Songs are pretty good at that."

More than 50 years after its release, "Born to Run" still speaks to anyone chasing a dream just beyond the horizon. What began as Bruce Springsteen's breakthrough recording has become one of the defining American rock anthems of all time, proving that its message of hope and possibility never goes out of style.

2000s Rocker Cancels Tour to Seek Immediate Medical Care After Health Crisis 'Worsened'

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 3:50pm

Alkaline Trio fans received disappointing news on Friday after the band abruptly pulled the plug on the remainder of its 2026 European tour due to frontman Matt Skiba's health.

Just hours before the group's scheduled performance in Birmingham, England, the punk rock veterans announced they would no longer be able to continue the run.

"We are immensely sorry, but we must cancel our dates in England," the band wrote in a statement shared on their Instagram, adding that the decision was made because of "medical issues Matt has been suffering from that have worsened."

While the group didn't specify what those medical issues were, they reassured fans that, "He’s gonna be okay but needs to be treated stateside as soon as possible. We will be back healthier and stronger."

The update came just one week after Skiba, 50, revealed he'd been injured in a motorcycle accident before leaving Los Angeles for Europe. Sharing a photo of his injured leg on Instagram, the singer wrote, "Elevating and hydrating as best as possible for today’s show @vainstream_rockfest party people. Jacked up but hoping to play on my feet today. Fingers crossed."

He continued, "Had a lil motorbike crash before leaving Los Angeles for Europa. I’m gonna do my best."

Although the band never confirmed whether the crash was connected to the worsening medical issues, many fans speculated the two could be related.  And many also expressed frustration about the short notice of the announcement.

“A bit more notice next time please, we have been travelling for an hour to the show and only just finding out by happening to have Instagram open isn't ideal,” one said.

Another replied, “But I've just traveled to Birmingham & paid for a hotel - could this have been decided & shared sooner??”

Skiba has since shared a brief update of his own, thanking fans for their support while explaining why he couldn't continue touring. Speaking from London's Heathrow Airport before returning to the U.S., he said in an Instagram video that fans "deserve a better show than I can throw right now," revealing that he had lost feeling in his hands and feet and was also struggling with his voice. Despite the frightening symptoms, he reassured supporters, "I'm OK," adding that he'll head home to get checked out before returning to the stage "as soon as we can."

The cancellation also affected fellow musicians on the tour. Anthony Green, who had been scheduled to perform alongside Alkaline Trio, shared a message of support on Instagram. "TO OUR UK FRIENDS," he began. "Sending all our love and support to Matt and Alkaline Trio. Wishing him a steady and swift recovery."

Green added that his band still planned to perform in Birmingham while they worked to determine the rest of the week's schedule.

Influencer Emilie Kiser Announces Family News One Year After Son Trigg's Drowning Death: 'Feels Very Surreal'

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 3:14pm

Emilie Kiseris experiencing one of life’s biggest joys yet again.

After a year of heartbreak and grief after losing her 3-year-old son Trigg in a drowning accident, the 27-year-old influencer announced Friday, July 3, that she and her husband, Brady Kiser, are expecting their third child together. The couple is also parents to 15-month-old son Teddy. "We are so grateful and excited to share that we will be welcoming another baby into our family," Emilie wrote in an Instagram announcement on Friday, July 3. "This news feels very surreal and has already been such a bright light to us during some of our darkest days."

Emilie, who has over 5.2 million followers on TikTok and 2.1 million on Instagram, also made it clear that she plans to be more protective of this pregnancy and the next chapter for her family.

"As I stated last year, my family's privacy will always be my priority. Because of that, I'm not sure how much I will be sharing about this pregnancy and next phase of life, but I appreciate your understanding as I navigate those boundaries," she added in her pregnancy announcement.

Still, she said the baby has already brought light back into their home after an incredibly painful year as the couple mourned their son's untimely death. "This baby has already brought so much hope and joy into our home, and we are treasuring every moment of it together. Thank you in advance for all of the love, well wishes, and support as we navigate this next chapter of our growing family. Love you, guys."

What Emilie Kiser Said in First Interview After Losing Son Trigg  View this post on Instagram

The announcement comes just over a year after Trigg's death. He was hospitalized after falling into the family's backyard pool in Arizona on May 12, 2025, and died six days later, on May 18, as reported by NBC News. During the June 17, 2026, episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Emilie gave her first interview since her son’s death and reflected on the painful year that followed. "Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change, and how quickly life can be literally taken away," she told Shetty.

Emilie also opened up about how she and Brady rebuilt their relationship after the tragedy.  She admitted she had "felt so angry at him" early in her grief and wondered whether their marriage would survive, before coming to a difficult realization. "This could have just as easily been me in Brady's position. Brady was taking care of our newborn child. When I left for dinner that night, he was de-thawing my breast milk, trying to get Teddy settled," she shared.

A Family Growing Through Grief View this post on Instagram

Emilie and Brady welcomed Trigg in July 2021, sharing the news with a heartfelt post. "Trigg Chapman Kiser II," she wrote at the time. "07-14-21 at 9:04 pm. 6 pounds 5 ounces. We are smitten with all his tiny features and love him so much."

Following Trigg's death, Chandler, Arizona, police confirmed he had been pulled unconscious from the family's backyard pool, as per USA Today. Prosecutors ultimately determined there was "no likelihood of conviction" against Brady and released an official statement on July 25, 2025. A few weeks later, on August 28, 2025, Emilie took to Instagram to break her silence and speak publicly for the first time.

"I take full accountability as Trigg's mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him," she wrote. "One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it's something I will never overlook again. I hope amidst this pain, Trigg's story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss."

Now, as she and Brady prepare to welcome their third child, Emilie continues to lean on the tools that have helped her through the past year.  "I feel so much better going into my day," she said of therapy in a TikTok video shared on September 28, 2025.

1966 Original Album From One of History’s Most Revered Bands Was Recalled—Because the Cover Was Unexpectedly Gruesome

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 2:53pm

The Beatles really hit it big in the early '60s, and their clean-cut, heartthrob persona defined them. By the time 1965's Rubber Soul came out, the band members had grown past their pop persona.

“We got involved completely in ourselves then. I think it was Rubber Soul when we did all our own numbers," John Lennon said in a 1968 Rolling Stone interview. “Something just happened. We controlled it a bit. Whatever it was we were putting over, we just tried to control it a bit.”

In the years that followed, their attempts to push the envelope historically worked in their favor. In 1967, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band spent 27 weeks at the top of the UK charts, took home four Grammy Awards, and became The Beatles' best-selling studio album.

But somewhere in between, in 1966, the group produced the album Yesterday and Today. It was an amalgamation of songs from recent Beatles LPs that hadn't yet debuted in America, including "Yesterday," "Drive My Car," and "Nowhere Man." Through Capitol Records, the group released a cover now known as the "Butcher Cover," featuring the four members in butcher coats surrounded by severed baby-doll heads and pieces of meat.

Why The Beatles Chose That Cover

There are several standing theories as to why they chose this controversial cover.

“1966 was the year the world was made aware of John Lennon’s famous comments about Christianity and the year they were chased out of the Philippines for apparently 'snubbing' a garden party hosted by Imelda Marcos, the first lady," Liverpool writer Dale Roberts once said. "This is the year they began to move away from the famous Mop Tops and the year that John Lennon met Yoko Ono. The Beatles in 1966 were not far away from controversy; the Butcher cover was one part of it."

“One theory is that it was a statement against Capitol Records 'butchering' the British album releases for profit," he continued. "Typically, Capitol would receive The Beatles' UK album releases and hold back tracks for future US releases and mix them with A- and B-side singles to spread them out over more albums to make more profit."

Related: 1964 The Beatles’ Missing Television Performance Footage Found

Another theory emerged around something photographer Robert Whitaker, who shot the album, had once said about the concept. He insisted it was his idea for a conceptual art piece to humanize The Beatles, taking them out of "God-like" status.

Lennon himself seemed to confirm that theory. The writer claims he once said they were "inspired by our boredom and resentment at having to do another photo session and another Beatles thing. We were sick to death of it.”

The album was reissued after a few hundred copies circulated, and a much more familiar, clean-cut image replaced it. Depending on the condition of the album, it is estimated to be worth between $10,000 and $12,000 today.

Taylor Swift Fans Turn Their Frustration Toward the Singer Over White House Posts

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 2:46pm

Taylor Swift fans were focused on what many believe is her wedding weekend with Travis Kelce, but an unexpected White House post sent social media in a completely different direction.

Ahead of Independence Day, the White House shared two posts that have raised some eyebrows. One graphic was shared to Instagram featuring President Donald Trumpon a version of Swift’s Eras Tour poster, alongside the caption "It's been a long time coming,” (which is also a Swift lyric from the song “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”).

The second was a TikTok set to the same song featuring a countdown clock much like the one used at the opening of Swift’s Eras Tour, which transitioned into moments throughout Trump’s presidency and imagery from America’s history. The caption read “Welcome to America’s eras tour 🇺🇸.”

View this post on Instagram

While much of the backlash was initially directed at the White House, some fans have turned their attention to Swift herself, wondering why the post remained online for over 18 hours when she has openly endorsed democratic candidates in the past.

“Oh I KNOW Taylor’s gonna be pissed,” one person wrote in the comments of the TikTok.

Another replied, “‘Taylor’s gonna be pissed’ really? Where was she the 3 other times they used her music? Hmm?”

One user on Threads wrote, “Nobody is saying she gave permission, but the fact that she hasn’t denounced it, or that she hasn’t sent her lawyers after it SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.”

Many defended the pop star, noting that she’s busy with her rumored wedding weekend.

“Gurl - she’s in the middle of her wedding reception and if you actually think she approves man you’re deranged,” another Threads user pointed out.

Another commented on TikTok, “She’s getting married tomorrow, that’s the only thing that should be on her mind .”

After largely avoiding political endorsements early in her career, Swift publicly backed Democratic candidates in Tennessee's 2018 midterm elections before endorsing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in subsequent presidential races.

Speaking in her 2020 documentary Miss Americana, Swift explained why she ultimately decided to become more politically outspoken. "Back in the [2016] presidential election, I was in such a horrendous place that I wasn't going to pop my head out," she said. She later added, "I need to be on the right side of history."

As of writing, both posts remain live, and neither Swift nor anyone on her behalf has spoken out.

1972 Classic Ballad, Reimagined Nearly 30 Years Later, Became a Soft Rock Anthem

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 2:44pm

Heartbreak has always been one of James Taylor's greatest songwriting subjects.

That was especially true on "Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight," the tender ballad he released in 1972 on his landmark album One Man Dog. With its understated arrangement and quietly devastating lyrics, the song became one of Taylor's most beloved recordings and a defining soft rock favorite. Nearly 30 years later, he gave it new life by re-recording it with acclaimed saxophonist Michael Brecker.

The original highlighted Taylor's remarkable ability to find beauty in vulnerability.

Written solely by Taylor, "Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" explores the emotional uncertainty of a relationship on the verge of ending. Rather than relying on dramatic declarations, the song unfolds through gentle acoustic guitar, understated vocals and deeply personal lyrics, qualities that helped establish Taylor as one of the era's most respected singer-songwriters.

"Because of 'Fire and Rain,' mostly, and 'Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight,' I was sort of cast as somebody who was troubled or hurting," Taylor later told American Songwriter. "But it'’'s not really the case. My instinct is to humor and to ecstasy and to bliss."

Although it was never among his biggest chart hits, the ballad steadily grew into one of the cornerstones of his catalog. It became a favorite of adult contemporary and soft rock radio while earning admiration from fellow musicians, many of whom have recorded their own interpretations over the years.

"'Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight' has probably been covered more than any other song of mine," Taylor told Songwriting Magazine. "It's a simple song and a very relatable message."

In 2001, Taylor revisited the song when he reconnected with Grammy-winning saxophonist Michael Brecker to record a new version for Brecker's album Nearness of You: The Ballad Book. The collaboration was a natural and easy one, as the pair had worked together on the original.

"On the album One Man Parade, [Michael Brecker] played that beautiful solo on 'Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight,'" Taylor said in a 2023 interview. "So we had a musical connection for many years, and I would often ask him to come in and overdub three or four different parts."

The new version of the song paired Taylor's familiar vocal with Brecker's expressive tenor saxophone, giving the classic ballad a richer jazz-influenced texture while preserving its intimate emotional core.

The reinterpretation introduced the song to new listeners while reminding longtime fans why it had endured for decades. Brecker's lyrical playing complemented Taylor's understated delivery, creating a fresh perspective on a song that had already become a modern standard.

Over the years, "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" has remained one of Taylor’s signature compositions. Its timeless melody and universal themes of longing and vulnerability have ensured its place among the defining soft rock ballads of the 1970s.

More than 50 years after its original release, "Don’' Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" continues to resonate with listeners around the world. Reimagined with Michael Brecker nearly three decades later, the classic ballad stands as a testament to the enduring power of James Taylor's songwriting.

1973 David Bowie Concert Shocked Fans With This Major Retirement News

Fri, 07/03/2026 - 2:34pm

As the song goes, "Ziggy played guitar..."

And then, in 1973, he stopped. But David Bowie's career carried on for decades thereafter.

To explain: Friday, July 3 marks 53 years since Bowie performed his final concert as his infamous alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.

Fans, bandmates and the rest of the civilization certainly didn't see it coming, according to reports from the early 1970s...

After 182 Ziggy Stardust concert performances, Bowie — who died a decade ago at age 69 — announced he was about to retire from live performing, but with a twist. The Ziggy stage persona was actually taking its bow, and not Bowie himself.

Only his guitarist Mick Ronson reportedly knew about the announcement, which came as a complete shock not only to the audience but the rest of Bowie's band and crew.

According to Rolling Stone, the creation of Ziggy dates back to the 1960s when Bowie met British rocker Vince Taylor, who had apparently "joined a cult and decided he was an alien god on Earth."

Bowie’s fascination with space travel and science fiction had already surfaced in such songs as “Space Oddity," and began developing a character based on Taylor plus other eccentrics like Texas “psychobilly” singer Legendary Stardust Cowboy, per Rolling Stone.

Bowie dubbed the end result “Ziggy Stardust," with the first name reportedly taken from a tailor’s shop that he saw from a train. The concept of Ziggy ultimately became an omnisexual alien rock star, sent to planet Earth as a messenger.

Last month, Parade reported on Bowie's song "Heroes," often considered a masterpiece by his fans — though it underperformed on the charts at the time of its initial release in 1977.

"Heroes" was the first single from Bowie’s album of the same name, but the song ultimately failed to break through on the Billboard Hot 100, believe it or not. Find out more here.
