Legendary ’70s Rock Star’s Limited-Edition Item Sells Out After Announcement

Sat, 05/02/2026 - 12:19am

A special limited-edition item honoring late heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne sold out almost immediately after it was announced, showing that fans around the world are still eager to celebrate the rock icon’s legacy.

Luxury fragrance company Czech & Speake revealed on Wednesday that it would release a tribute edition of its No.88 cologne, the scent Ozzy famously wore for more than 30 years. The product quickly disappeared after fans rushed to place orders online, according to Blabbermouth.

The special edition came packaged in a black sleeve with purple foil details and included a personal message from Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne.

Each bottle cost $370, and the company said 20% of all sales would go to Cure Parkinson’s, a charity connected to Parkinson’s disease research. Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, at age 76 after suffering from heart disease and Parkinson’s-related health problems.

In her note included with the fragrance, Sharon shared a memory about Ozzy’s love for the scent.

“I don't know exactly how long Ozzy wore No.88, but I'm sure it was at least 30 years,” Sharon wrote. “As soon as he smelled it, he said to me, ‘I'd like to smell like this for the rest of my life!’ And he did!”

The company described No.88 as its “signature and most unique perfume” and said Ozzy had remained loyal to the fragrance for decades.

According to Czech & Speake, the scent features woody and floral notes, including bergamot, geranium, rose otto, frangipani, vetiver and sandalwood. The company also said the tribute bottles included special fragrance artwork inspired by Ozzy himself.

The rapid sellout highlights the lasting influence of the singer, who became one of heavy metal music’s most recognizable stars during the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath.

Often called the “Prince of Darkness,” Ozzy helped shape heavy metal music with albums such as Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. After leaving Black Sabbath in 1979, he launched a successful solo career that included hit albums like Blizzard of Ozz, No More Tears and Patient Number 9.

Across his career, Ozzy sold more than 100 million albums through both his solo music and Black Sabbath releases. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, first with Black Sabbath in 2006 and later as a solo artist in 2024.

The fragrance release arrived less than a year after Ozzy’s emotional final concert, Back To The Beginning, held in Birmingham, England. During the event, Ozzy reunited with original Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for one last performance.

Because of Parkinson’s disease, Ozzy performed while seated on a black throne during the concert. Even so, the moment became one of the most emotional live events in rock music that year.

Ozzy died just 17 days later at his Buckinghamshire home while surrounded by family members. His death led to tributes from fans and musicians around the world, including thousands of people who gathered in Birmingham to honor him before his private funeral service.

The funeral was held on July 31, 2025, on the grounds of the Osbourne family estate. Friends, family, and several major rock musicians attended the ceremony.

Even after his death, Ozzy’s popularity continues to grow. Exhibits about his life have drawn large crowds, documentaries about his final years have been released, and collectors continue searching for rare items connected to the singer.

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If your living space is doing triple duty as your bedroom, living room, and home office, it can be tough to keep everything feeling organized. Open layouts are great for flexibility, but without a little separation, they can quickly start to feel cluttered and undefined. The good news? You don’t need a renovation to fix it — just a room divider to instantly add structure and help define your space.

Right now, Target has a stylish option that’s both practical and easy to incorporate into your home — and it’s on sale for a significant discount. The Costway 4-Panel Room Divider is currently priced at $110, down from its original $230 price. Shoppers are already taking notice of this gorgeous privacy screen, with one reviewer calling it “an excellent addition” to their living space.

Made from solid paulownia wood, the divider has a warm, rustic look that naturally gives your room some character. The rich walnut finish and “artistic-looking” decorative carved cutouts bring a vintage-inspired touch that works just as well in a bedroom, living room, or home office. Fully expanded, it measures 65 by 65 inches — large enough to define different areas within a room.

The panels are connected with double-action hinges, so they can bend in either direction and be arranged at different angles to fit your space. Whether you’re dividing a studio, adding a bit of privacy, or setting up a work area, it’s easy to adjust as needed. There’s no assembly needed — just unbox it and unfold. It also folds flat for space-saving storage.

One buyer noted that its walnut color may look slightly “red” right out of the package, but once placed in a room, it appears more brown, closer to what’s shown on the website. They also recommend giving the hinge screws a quick tighten before use to ensure it is secure.

At just over 50 percent off, the Costway 4-Panel Room Divider is an easy way to refresh and define your space. It’s unlikely to stay at this price for long, so it’s worth grabbing while you can.

1994 Hit Ranked Among ‘Greatest Country Songs of All Time’ Seems Like a Patriotic Anthem — But Isn’t

Sat, 05/02/2026 - 12:13am

On May 2, 1994, 32 years ago today, Martina McBride released her country classic “Independence Day.” A slightly misleading title, the tune actually isn’t about the popular Fourth of July holiday.

Written by Gretchen Peters, “Independence Day” instead focuses on the serious subject of domestic violence, something that wasn’t often brought up in the genre by a female artist. Even more so, the lyrics follow the redemption story from a daughter’s eyes as she recounts the abuse her mother suffered at the hands of her dangerous father, who was both unkind and a heavy drinker.

Although the topic is dark in tone, “Independence Day” is an uptempo song that finds the mother experiencing her personal form of independence during the chorus, a moment when she gains her freedom by setting the family home ablaze, in turn finally getting away from her husband.

The daughter, meanwhile, is sent off to the county home.

The Songwriting Process

Of writing the song, Peters told The Tennessean, per American Songwriter, “I had written the chorus first and sort of pieced the story around it based on what the chorus was making me feel. I got to that third verse, and I just kept saying, ‘I’ve got to resolve it some other way. This is too dark.’ I mean, the woman finds her independence in the hardest possible way.”

For listeners who don’t pay close attention to the lyrics, it’s easy to assume the song belongs on a Fourth of July playlist, especially as it has been used previously during various political events, such as in 2008 during Sarah Palin’s vice presidential campaign.

“I have mixed feelings about it, to be honest,” McBride told Rolling Stone, according to People, sharing how some folks mixup the meaning of the song. “I have always had such a connection to the real meaning of the song, and it’s … ‘annoying’ isn’t the word … interesting that some people just don’t understand what the song is about at all.”

Adding to that frustration, the song was, at one point, too dark for radio stations to consider it. However, that perception has since changed.

“We received initial pushback on the song, and I was so confused by that,” McBride added. “I was like, ‘Why wouldn't they play this song?'”

Hailed as McBride’s signature song, the Platinum-certified “Independence Day” surprisingly didn’t become a No. 1 hit. The tune reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Despite not going No. 1, “Independence Day” went on to win Song of the Year at the CMA Awards in 1995, and also was ranked at No. 45 on Rolling Stone’s list of 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time.’

“Independence Day” can be found on McBride’s 1993 breakthrough studio album, The Way That I Am, which spawned hits “My Baby Loves Me,” “Life #9,” and “Heart Trouble.”

1964 International Film, Rediscovered After 31 Years, Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 11:10pm

In 1965, a visually ambitious film debuted to little fanfare, but decades later, it would be hailed as a masterpiece.

I Am Cuba, directed by Mikhail Kalatozov, is now ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, a recognition that reflects its remarkable artistic legacy.

At the time of its release, however, the film struggled to connect with audiences. A Soviet-Cuban co-production, I Am Cuba was intended as a politically charged portrayal of life in pre-revolutionary Cuba. Its poetic storytelling and experimental style, while innovative, proved challenging for viewers, and the film was largely overlooked both in Cuba and the Soviet Union.

Despite its initial reception, the film stood out for its groundbreaking cinematography. Known for its long, fluid tracking shots and striking black-and-white imagery, I Am Cuba pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling, creating sequences that would later influence generations of filmmakers.

For years, the film remained relatively obscure until its rediscovery in the United States in 1995. Championed by prominent filmmakers and critics, I Am Cuba was reintroduced to a new audience, who recognized its artistic achievements and visionary direction.

"It is a story told with everyday heroes laboring in smoky dance halls and dusty fields, and with villains like Batista and the United Fruit Company," wrote Manohla Dargis for The New York Times in 2005. "Mostly, though, it is a story told with a camera as deliriously liberated as the Cuban people would prove enslaved."

This revival transformed the film's reputation, shifting it from a forgotten project to a celebrated work of cinema history.

Though its runtime is relatively short compared to many epics, I Am Cuba delivers a sweeping, almost dreamlike exploration of social and political change, told through interconnected stories that capture the lives of ordinary people.

Today, the film is widely studied and admired, not just for its historical context, but for its bold approach to filmmaking.

Its journey, from overlooked release to rediscovered classic, serves as a powerful reminder that some films are simply ahead of their time.

This Kids' TV Theme Has a Surprising Music Legend Connection

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 11:00pm

For many viewers who grew up watching Arthur, the show’s cheerful opening theme is instantly recognizable. But what some fans may not realize is that the voice behind that catchy tune comes from music royalty.

The theme song, "Believe in Yourself," was written and performed by Ziggy Marley—the son of legendary reggae icon Bob Marley.

Debuting in 1996, Arthur quickly became a staple of children’s programming, known for its relatable stories, gentle humor and memorable music. The opening song played a big part in setting that tone. With its upbeat melody and positive message, "Believe in Yourself" encouraged kids to embrace who they are—a theme that perfectly matched the spirit of the show.

For Ziggy, 57, the project was a natural fit. While he had already established himself as a successful musician in his own right, the opportunity to create music for a younger audience allowed him to carry forward a message of positivity and self-confidence in a new way. The result was a song that felt both timeless and universal.

Over the years, the Arthur theme has become more than just an intro—it’s a nostalgic touchstone for generations of viewers. Its lyrics are simple but powerful, reminding listeners that confidence and kindness can go a long way.

The connection to Bob Marley only adds another layer of meaning. Known for music that promoted unity, love and resilience, Bob Marley’s legacy lives on not just through his own work, but through artists like Ziggy, who continue to share those values with new audiences.

For many fans, discovering the Marley connection makes it all the more special; a reminder that even a children’s show theme can have roots in one of music’s most influential families.

Why Queen Camilla Flew on a Commercial Flight Back Home to the U.K.

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 10:29pm

Queen Camilla shocked travelers when she casually walked through the airport with minimal security as she departed the United States to go back home to London, England.

Camilla, 78, could be seen in videos posted to social media walking through a US airport wearing the same blue long-sleeve dress with black heels she wore to her April 30 engagements in Virginia. As for King Charles, 77, he went on to the second leg of his royal tour in Bermuda, marking his first official trip to a British Overseas Territory as monarch.

Charles and Camilla arrived stateside together on April 27 for their four-day trip to Washington, D.C., New York City, and Virginia. The couple parting ways at the end of their state visit was always on their agenda. Although Buckingham Palace did not give an official reason why, the queen consort is known not to be a fan of flying, which may explain why she also chose a commercial flight home instead of taking a private plane.

The Duchess of Cornwall does not like traveling and prefers to fly commercial in an effort to shorten her time in the air. Flying commercial also gives her a lower profile and creates a more accessible image as a senior member of the royal family. Other royals, including Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, have also been known to take occasional trips on commercial planes.

Camilla’s dislike of flying goes beyond discomfort, as she has expressed having a real fear. In April 2018, a Clarence House spokesman confirmed she cut her trip short while on a royal tour for the Commonwealth Games with Charles due to the stress around flying and wanting to limit her time in the air.

"The Duchess does not like flying, but I think she has to sometimes embrace that fear,” the spokesman said at the time.

Despite not loving the means of getting there, Charles and Camilla enjoyed their time in the US to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence and smooth tensions between the countries. The royals were first hosted by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House. Charles gave a historic speech in front of Congress, only the second time in history after his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, did the same in 1991. The monarch and his wife also visited Arlington Cemetery in Virginia, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City, and attended a block party in the historic town of Front Royal, Virginia.

Charles and Camilla penned a heartfelt social media post about their visit, writing, "🇺🇸 Farewell and thank you for the warmth of your welcome and the kind support you gave us throughout our first visit to the US as King and Queen, in this, your special anniversary year. We leave a piece of our ❤️ behind and take a little of yours back home with us. Until the next time … God Bless America. - Charles R. & Camilla R.”

'90s Rocker Shares Bad News After Ignoring His Injury: 'Took a Turn for the Worse'

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 10:21pm

CKY delivered disappointing news to fans after drummer Jess Margera shared an update on his health issues, which unfortunately took a turn for the worse.

As a result, the rock band, known for their signature track "96 Quite Bitter Beings," announced a major change in their upcoming tour.

In a post shared on the band’s official Instagram, CKY was forced to halt their upcoming shows this month due to Margera’s shoulder injury that he initially ignored.

“CKY MAY TOUR POSTPONED - It is with deep regret that we have to announce the postponement of our upcoming May tour. Unfortunately, Jess sustained a rotator cuff injury and has been benched by his doctor for a few weeks while it heals up,” the caption reads.

As the rock band expressed their “sincere apologies” to the fans, especially those who are looking forward to seeing CKY perform live, they confirmed that the scheduled shows will still push through later this year.

We know you were looking forward to this tour as much as we were and we're currently working to reschedule the dates for later this year,” the band added.

Concluding the statement, they confirmed that the remaining scheduled tour is “still on” especially the July 9 show in Bellingham, Washington as well as their appearance at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento in October.

Following the band’s statement, CKY drummer also shared his message to fans and revealed more details regarding his injury.

According to the musician, the shoulder injury that he has been brushing off has now gotten significantly worse and the recovery period is four to five weeks as mentioned by his doctors.

“So the good news is I will be back in the saddle this summer and the bad news is the May CKY dates are being postponed and rebooked as I type this. Please hang on to your tickets until then. Can’t Def Leppard it (I tried) Need both arms. Again, I am really sorry for this inconvenience and I promise to go full Ali vs Frazier when I recover. As Ringo says : Peace & Love and looking forward to seeing you all very soon,” he added, assuring fans that they will be seeing more of the band in the coming months.

CKY started the year with a series of shows in Australia in January and a mini U.S. Northeast tour in March.

They are supposed to continue the U.S. tour this May, covering states like Tennessee, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

1973 Rock Classic Launched Legendary Run for Iconic '70s Band With Six No. 1 Hit Songs

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 10:13pm

In 1973, a song hit the airwaves and helped transform a band's trajectory, launching one of the most successful runs of the decade.

"Band on the Run," performed by Paul McCartney and Wings, became a defining hit that set the stage for a remarkable stretch of chart dominance.

Released as the title track of the album of the same name, the song showcased a bold, multi-part structure that shifted seamlessly between moods and tempos. That ambition reflected Paul McCartney's continued evolution following his time with The Beatles, proving he could still innovate while crafting widely appealing hits.

"The times with Wings were exciting because we built up to it and eventually we hit the big time," McCartney told BBC. "There was a particular kind of excitement in achieving that goal."

The track climbed the charts and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the band's most recognizable songs. But its impact extended far beyond a single chart-topping moment.

"Band on the Run" helped usher in a dominant era for McCartney and Wings, who would go on to score multiple No. 1 hits throughout the 1970s, including favorites like "Listen to What the Man Said" and "Silly Love Songs." Altogether, the band would achieve an impressive string of chart success, cementing their place among the decade's biggest acts.

The song's themes of escape and freedom, paired with its dynamic arrangement, resonated strongly with listeners. Its layered composition and polished production helped distinguish it from other rock releases of the time, contributing to its lasting appeal.

"I think that's what happens with bands – it certainly happened with The Beatles and with Wings: you start off imitating people and just goofing around, trying to find out what works and what doesn't work," McCartney told Clash Music. "And at the time of 'Band On The Run', things like 'Band On The Run' and 'Jet' and 'Let Me Roll It', we suddenly found songs that people identified with."

More than five decades later, "Band on the Run" remains a cornerstone of McCartney's post-Beatles career, one track that not only stood on its own, but helped launch a legendary run of hits.

"I doubted whether it was possible to follow the Beatles," McCartney said in the documentary, Man on the Run. "But looking back on it now, I think we made what seemed like an impossible dream come true. That was the magic of it."

Its legacy is clear: sometimes, one song doesn't merely top the charts, instead it changes everything that comes after.

Beloved Country Star Forced to Cancel More Shows, Shares Details on 'Severe' Diagnosis

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 9:45pm

LeAnn Rimes has some more unfortunate news to share with her fans.

After cancelling two shows earlier in the week due to what she described as a “severe illness,” the country star shared a disappointing update regarding upcoming shows and her health.

“After a diagnosis of covid leading to severe laryngitis, I’m so sorry to have to reschedule next week’s shows,” Rimes, 43, began a lengthy text post on her Instagram Story, Friday, May 1. “A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news and I wanted to tell you as soon as I could.”

She continued, noting how disappointed it made her to have to let her fans down. “It breaks my heart, having to reschedule these shows,” the songstress wrote. “This is sadly out of my hands until I get this under control.”

A screenshot of Leann Rimes' Instagram Story on May 1.

Just like the two show Rimes cancelled earlier in the week, these additional concerts—Waukegan, IL, and Wilmington, NC—will be rescheduled to November 6 and 7 respectively. The original tickets will remain valid, but for those who can no longer attend, refunds are available.

The other affected shows include the April 30 show in Spokane, WA—which was moved to May 31—and the Seattle, WA performance on May 1 was rescheduled to June 2.

As she focuses on recovering her voice, Rimes has still been balancing a packed schedule beyond touring. The singer recently joined the cast of 9-1-1: Nashville, playing the role of Dixie Bennings, a bad girl country singer whose life intersects with the city’s emergency responders. The show premiered back in October 2025.

She gave an update to fans regarding her character development on Instagram a day earlier on April 30. “For those of you asking about dixie’s family, you’ll get some clues on tonight’s episode with meemaw. the fire behind dixie… 🔥” she wrote alongside a photo of her posing with actress Neva Howell. “My scene with her was one of my favorite scenes of the series to shoot and i can’t wait for more scenes with her in season 2,” she teased.

9-1-1: Nashville airs new episodes Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST. Episodes are also available to stream the next day on Hulu.

When you’re packing your suitcase for a vacay, shoes are usually the first thing you start second-guessing. They take up more space than clothes and add weight, bringing you to the task of narrowing it down to just one or two pairs that can do it all. The problem is, not every sandal is actually built for that vigorous of wear. Some look great in photos but don’t hold up after a full day of walking. And the last thing you want is to cut plans short because your feet can’t keep up.

That’s why having a go-to pair you can rely on, like the Dr. Scholl’s Islander Sandals, matters. Even better, this pair is currently just $34 at Amazon, marked down 58% from its original $80 price tag. They’re designed with comfort in mind but still chic enough to wear with dressier outfits, which makes them a practical pick for everything from travel days to everyday errands.

The upper features soft, flexible straps arranged in a foot-hugging configuration that balances openness with support. Stretch gore panels are seamlessly integrated, allowing the sandal to flex as you move and making it a step-in-and-go style. The microfiber upper and soft linings are crafted from 100% recycled plastic bottles, giving the sandal a lightweight feel while supporting environmental sustainability.

Underfoot, the contoured insole is engineered with anatomical cushioning that adapts to your foot’s natural shape, delivering all-day comfort. A subtle 1.25-inch faux wood wedge heel adds a boost of height while maintaining stability and ease. The look is finished with a crisp, scalloped white outsole that adds a pop of visual contrast and texture.

The sandal comes in two easy-to-style neutrals: Black, priced at $34, and beige at $37. Both colors are available in half sizes from 6 through 11, making it easier to find a comfortable, just-right fit.

I Tried Shake Shack's Bold New BBQ Menu and It's the Perfect Ode to Summer

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 8:45pm

Depending on what corner of the social zeitgeist you occupy, you may have noticed an uptick in chatter surrounding what some feel is a surge in accepted mediocrity. Harsher critics have called it an addiction, citing a growing sentiment that the bare minimum is more palatable and comforting to the masses. Why take the risk when the evidence shows that you can get equal or even outsized rewards for doing less? Sure, you could spend months developing recipes before finally releasing a cookbook, or you could just “ask Chat” and get it done in a matter of seconds. It might not be as good, but when the standards are so low, subpar AI slop can pass as genuine time-tested expertise without even trying.

It’s a phenomenon you can see across industries and disciplines, from music to art and even food. Especially when it comes to food, more and more people agree that we’ve entered an era where going out to eat is really just seeing who can cook Sysco the best, and, honestly, we're inclined to agree. Not that you can’t make magic with ingredients wherever you source them, but you can always tell when a restaurant goes the extra mile to laugh in the face of mediocrity and produce something truly extraordinary.

Case in point: Shake Shack’s new Smoky BBQ menu, so good that yours truly is petitioning for it to become a permanent addition. The beloved fast-casual burger brand introduced the stacked new menu nationwide on April 28, and yours truly got to sit down with Shake Shack’s Chief Communications Officer, Luke DeRouen, and try out the new menu. Included in the lineup are a few returning favorites, like the Smoky Classic BBQ Burger, along with new items like Mac and Cheese and a Boneless BBQ Baby Back Rib Sandwich. And, of course, to wash it all down, you can grab one of three new shakes or a tasty flavored lemonade

Upon arrival at the Shake Shack location at The Battery, just steps away from the brand’s new Atlanta Support Center and Kitchen Innovation Lab, I was immediately greeted by Luke and sat down to discuss all things Shake Shack. Now that the formalities are out of the way, let’s get into why you landed here in the first place. In a word, everything was exceptional. Crispy fried onions on top of perfectly lacy smashed burger patties, mingling with smoky bacon and barbecue sauce, blanketed in melty American cheese and brightened up by tangy pickles. The gentle yet distinct heat from the cayenne on the spicy cheese fries, juxtaposed with the rich, unctuous cheese sauce—it’s truly a love letter to summer barbecues.

View this post on Instagram My Honest Review of Shake Shack's New Boneless BBQ Baby Back Rib Sandwich

But more than anything, the new Boneless BBQ Baby Back Rib Sandwich epitomizes what this limited-time menu is all about—and it’s exactly what I’ll be going back for again and again. Instead of pulled pork or some rib-shaped mass of mystery meat, this sandwich is literally almost half of a tender, juicy pork rib deboned and then cooked to perfection. When you order, it gets a quick flash fry to give the exterior a nice crispy texture, and then it’s layered onto a pillowy soft potato roll with barbecue sauce, coleslaw and pickles. I was sold at first bite. It’s exceedingly tender. Like melt-in-your-mouth tender and the added texture just really makes this feel like something you’d enjoy straight off the grill.

Courtesy Kenn C. Bivins

That mindblowing taste is no accident, of course. According to Luke, this sandwich took a whopping five years to perfect, and before they even considered making it at scale, the team went through all of the logistics first. The ribs themselves are actually sourced from a family butchery that brines and processes the meat until it’s tender enough to be deboned by hand. It’s then shipped to stores, where highly-trained team members cook each order to perfection. How’s that for a departure from mediocre?

Courtesy Kenn C. Bivins

Joining the Boneless BBQ Baby Back Rib Sandwich is the brand’s new limited-time Mac and Cheese side, which honestly tastes like sitting outside on the patio with an ice-cold beer in hand. Perfectly cooked cavatappi noodles cling to a rich cheese sauce—conveniently made with Shake Shack’s famous cheese sauce—and are then topped with toasted breadcrumbs. It’s decadent and creamy and a perfect complement to the rest of the items on the menu. Again, I wouldn’t be mad if they decided to make this a permanent offering.

Mac and Cheese Joins Shake Shack Menu as a Limited-Time Side

Courtesy Kenn C. Bivins

Beyond the mouthwatering food, though, what really came through was just how much Shake Shack values your experience from beginning to end. It has an atmosphere that lets you know you’re welcome. You can feel it as soon as you walk through the door, and it only helps that the food is worth raving about. Although the likelihood of words “Shake Shack” and “mediocre” appearing in the same sentence is highly unlikely anyway, this limited-time offering from the fast-casual burger joint truly stands out as a perfect example of what Shake Shack is at its core. High-quality, approachable food, made fresh and served up with signature hospitality that lets you know you’re among friends.

As for what’s next for Shake Shack, Luke teased that the brand plans to open a slate of new locations later this year and hinted at even more deliciousness to come. We know where we’ll be this summer. How about you?

Legendary ’70s Singer Announces Update Amid Health Battle

Fri, 05/01/2026 - 8:42pm

Barry Manilow shared some good and bad news on his Instagram story on Friday evening.

It was revealed last December that the 82-year-old singer was diagnosed with Stage 1 lung cancer, after an MRI scan revealed a spot on his left lung. He underwent a successful lobe-removal surgery, resulting in a cancer-free status and requiring no chemotherapy or radiation. But because of his health issues, Manilow had to reschedule many of his shows that were originally planned to take place during the first three months of 2026.

One of those was his ongoing Manilow: The Hits Come Home! Las Vegas residency, set to take place at the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. He was supposed to start the run of shows next Thursday, but announced on Instagram that he is "not quite ready for Vegas."

"I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I'm making great progress and look great! All the training and exercising I've put in is paying off," the message read. "He did say, however, that I'm not quite ready for Vegas. This means I won't be able to return for our May shows at Westgate Las Vegas."

"The Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home and I'll see you all in July," he concluded, providing a timeline for his fans expecting to see him in concert. The singer also said that he should be ready for his shows in the United Kingdom that are taking place this June. "It's going to be great to see you all in the UK," he added.

According to PEOPLE, Manilow first went to the doctor in November because of hip pain. The doctor ordered him an MRI for his pelvis, then for his lungs, when he learned the "Somewhere Down The Road" singer had recently battled bronchitis.

"If he hadn’t done that, man...He saved my life, because there’s no symptoms for what I had. I could go on, nothing hurt — but they found the dot in my lung," he told PEOPLE.

A month later, Manilow underwent the procedure and spent a week in the ICU. As of now, he is cancer-free, but still on his road to recovery.

"It has really, really made me take stock of my life. This made me stop and think about: Have I done what I wanted to do, and have I made people happy? Have I been a good friend? All of those cornball things that I’ve read for all of my life, I started to think about that, too. It really did stop me in my tracks,” he said in his cover story in March. “And the answers are yes. And as a matter of fact, there are more yeses than I ever thought.

Manilow started his professional music career in 1964, when CBS director Bro Herrod asked him to arrange some songs for a musical adaptation of the drama, The Drunkard. At the time, Manilow was 21 years old, and instead, wrote an entire score. He then started working as a jingle writer and singer throughout the 1960s.

In 1973, he released his self-titled debut album through Bell / Arista Records, which peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard 200. He has since released more than 30 studio albums, with a new one titled What a Time on June 5, his first since February 2020.

Manilow also holds two Emmy Awards, a Tony, three American Music Awards and a Grammy for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance for his hit song "Copacabana." In addition, the successful singer has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is honored at the Songwriters' Hall of Fame and holds a Society of Singers Lifetime Achievement Award.

The first show for his upcoming Manilow: The Hits Come Home! Las Vegas residency is expected to kick off on July 9, and multiple shows will take place until October. Tickets for the upcoming residency can be purchased on Manilow's official website.
