Walt Disney World has officially locked in the opening timeline for its next major property, confirming that Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will open its doors on July 1, 2027.

Marking the announcement, Disney released the first official look inside the resort’s 967 guest rooms and villas, which draw inspiration from the natural world and classic animated stories celebrating the great outdoors.

The marquee addition to the resort’s accommodation lineup is its collection of freestanding Lake Houses. Perched directly on the Bay Lake shoreline, these standalone A-frame cabins feature floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and private porches overlooking the water.

The Lake Houses channel the visual world of Brother Bear, highlighting natural Alaskan landscapes and artistic nods to the film. In the primary bedrooms, a custom Northern Lights-inspired lighting fixture casts a serene glow across the space.

Available in one- and two-bedroom configurations that sleep up to five and eight guests, respectively, these retreats come fully equipped with full kitchens, washers and dryers, and generous living and dining areas.

Throughout the main lodge buildings, guest accommodations lean into a variety of nature-forward Disney stories:

Duo Studios, designed for up to two travelers, draw inspiration from Encanto with butterfly murals and bright, cheerful design touches. These efficient layouts include a queen-size pull-down bed that tucks into the wall during the day, a spa-like split bathroom, a kitchenette, and a private balcony.

Deluxe Studios and one- and two-bedroom villas are steeped in the woodland charm of Bambi. These spaces incorporate warm natural wood tones, subtle forest motifs, and archival concept artwork. The multi-bedroom villas cater to larger travel parties, accommodating up to five or nine guests with full kitchens, private patios, and split bathrooms featuring soaking tubs.

For multigenerational groups, the three-bedroom Grand Villas take artistic inspiration from Fantasia. Sleeping up to 12 guests, these sprawling accommodations feature massive communal gathering spaces, multiple bathrooms, and sweeping lake views.

Standard resort rooms and suites throughout the lodge celebrate the sweeping natural landscapes of Pocahontas. The spaces incorporate earthy color palettes, scenic river murals, and subtle carved wood paneling honoring Grandmother Willow.

At the top of the resort, the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite offers two full bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a private balcony with direct views of Bay Lake and the evening Magic Kingdom fireworks. Guests staying in select top-tier club rooms and suites also receive access to The Artist’s Nest, a rooftop concierge lounge providing complimentary refreshments alongside panoramic views stretching toward Cinderella Castle.

Beyond the accommodations, guests will have access to a sprawling outdoor recreation area called The Wetlands, which includes a zero-entry pool with a spiral water slide, a winding lazy river, and direct water taxi service across Bay Lake straight to Magic Kingdom Park.

Clem Cattini turns 89 this week, capping a career that helped launch one of rock history’s most improbable global chart records.

Cattini was the drummer behind “Telstar,” the 1962 instrumental by the Tornados that became the first single by a British act to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, more than a year before the Beatles ever cracked the American charts. Produced by the eccentric Joe Meek, the track topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, an especially rare feat for an instrumental with no vocals at all.

The song’s title wasn’t just a catchy word: it was named after Telstar, the communications satellite launched that same year, which became the first satellite to relay a live television signal across the Atlantic Ocean. Pairing that space-age name with the record’s futuristic, otherworldly sound helped make it feel like a genuine product of its moment.

Cattini’s career extended far beyond that one hit. Before joining the Tornados, he played drums on Johnny Kidd and the Pirates’ “Shakin’ All Over,” another landmark of early British rock and roll. After leaving the band in 1965, he became one of the busiest session drummers in the UK, eventually playing on more than 40 different UK No. 1 singles, including the Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”, a tally that stands as a record among British session musicians.

His reputation in the industry ran deep enough that Jimmy Page reportedly considered him for Led Zeppelin before the band settled on John Bonham. Decades later, Cattini published a memoir, “My Life, Through the Eye of a Tornado,” detailing his six decades behind the kit.

Nearly 65 years after “Telstar” first topped the charts, Cattini is still one of the last surviving links to the earliest days of British rock and roll, a genre-shaping pioneer whose reach extended from a satellite-inspired instrumental to some of the biggest hits of the 1960s and beyond.

They say food is the language of love, and nothing beats cooking a dish for loved ones and enjoying their company. But for Ina Garten, the best part of gathering around the table might actually be the conversation.

The beloved celebrity chef is bringing that philosophy to her new podcast, Happy Hour with Ina Garten, and the first look at the series reveals that she has already found the perfect setting for it: her own New York City apartment.

In the trailer shared exclusively on PEOPLE, Garten explains that she’ll be inviting guests into her home to enjoy a drink and sit down for a conversation about their lives, careers and everything in between.

“I’ve always thought the best part of a great dinner party is the conversation – the stories you find yourself lingering over and listening in on,” Garten said in a press release. “That’s how I want Happy Hour to be.”

And if the trailer is any indication, viewers can expect the kind of relaxed, intimate atmosphere that has made Garten’s entertaining philosophy so beloved. The Food Network star kicks off the project with a cocktail inspired by the South of France: a bourbon sour that she shares with her husband, Jeffrey Garten.

The playful moment also gives viewers a peek inside the couple’s New York City apartment, which will serve as the backdrop for the podcast. While fans are accustomed to seeing Garten and Jeffrey at their East Hampton home, Happy Hour will offer a new look at their city space.

The format leaves plenty of room for intriguing celebrity conversations, too. Garten says she’ll invite people she’s “curious to know more about” to her home, where she’ll learn about how they got where they are, what makes them laugh and what they’re still figuring out. In other words, don’t expect this to be a typical celebrity interview.

Happy Hour with Ina Garten premieres Sept. 16, with new episodes arriving weekly on Wednesdays. If Garten has her way, Happy Hour will feel less like watching a podcast and more like being invited to her dinner party and pulling up a chair for the conversation. Don’t be late.

When 22-year-old Elvis Presley bought Graceland in March 1957, he was sealing a deal that would forever transform a Memphis mansion into the world’s most famous rock-and-roll sanctuary.

Now, a photo recently shared from the Graceland archives on Instagram is giving fans an up-close look at the exact piece of paper that started it all.

In early 1957, Elvis was a 22-year-old superstar riding high on the success of the hit songs “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and his debut film, Love Me Tender. However, with his growing fame came relentless crowds surrounding his family’s modest home on Audubon Drive in Memphis, Tennessee, making privacy nearly impossible.

The young star needed a secluded sanctuary. He found it in a 13.8-acre estate named Graceland, originally built in 1939 by Ruth Moore and her husband, Thomas Moore.

The newly shared photo highlights the initial $1,000 deposit check, dated March 16, 1957, and made payable to Moore. This deposit officially held the property for the family.

Just days later, on March 26, the final transaction went through for a total purchase price of $102,500. Presley’s parents, Vernon and Gladys, along with his grandmother, Minnie Mae, moved into Graceland on May 16, 1957, while Elvis was filming Jailhouse Rock. He officially spent his first night there in June, according to the home’s official website.

What makes the newly surfaced archival image so mesmerizing for fans isn’t just the historic dollar amount, but the personal details frozen in time. The check bears the signature of a young artist on the cusp of defining an entire generation.

For decades, Graceland has carefully preserved thousands of artifacts from Elvis’s life, but rare looks at the financial paperwork behind his biggest personal milestones always spark massive nostalgia. Seeing the actual piece of paper that transferred ownership of the mansion reminds fans how quickly the young kid from Tupelo built an empire.

Fans shared heart and lightening bolt emojis in response to the photograph. Others recalled seeing the check when they visited the historic Memphis home.

“I saw it last week,” exclaimed one follower. A second penned, “A treasure.”

Other followers shared their devotion to Presley, calling him “my king” in the comments section. Yet another penned, “TCB,” shorthand for Presley’s mantra, “taking care of business.”

Nearly seven decades after that $1,000 check cleared, Graceland remains a shrine to rock-and-roll history. This rare archival photo proves that the story behind its purchase is just as captivating as the legend himself.

Today, Graceland is the second most-visited home in the United States next to The White House. The home officially opened for tours on June 7, 1982, almost five years after Presley’s death in August 1977.

Reginald VelJohnson, the beloved dad from Family Matters, is looking happy and svelte in a rare red carpet appearance.

VelJohnson, 74, is best known for donning a police uniform onscreen in his diverse acting career. Fans love him from the Die Hard franchise, and he spent years as Carl Winslow on Family Matters. The show, which also starred Jo Marie Payton, Kellie Shanygne Williams, and Jaleel White, told the story of a Black Chicago family helmed by a loving father. White, of course, rose to superstardom as the nerdy next-door neighbor Steve Urkel. But it was VelJohnson who served as a steadying force in the series. In recent years, he’s had a thriving career as a voice-over actor, and even hit Dancing with the Stars in 2024. But the beloved star made a rare red carpet appearance in Los Angeles at the premiere of A24’s Onslaught at Regal LA Live, and looked great. More svelte than in his TV days, the star had a bright smile on his face.

Yes! Kellie Shanygne Williams, who played Laura Winslow on the series, and her co-star, Telma Hopkins, who played Rachel, the sister of Harriette Winslow and aunt to Laura, recently started a podcast called Welcome to the Family with Telma and Kellie.

In a statement, Williams opened up about why she and Hopkins decided to create a podcast about making the iconic show.

“To this day, ‘Family Matters’ is one of the most-streamed sitcoms, and it is an honor for me to be able to go back in time and remember what it was like as a kid to grow up on the show and go through some of the same things my character, Laura Winslow, did,” Williams shared, Variety reported. “Not to mention doing it with my surrogate mom, Telma, who’s become one of my closest friends and is really another member of my family, as well as reconnecting with fans and hearing how the show impacted them. We hope fans enjoy listening to these episodes as much as we have enjoyed making them!”

Maybe! Bryton James, who played Richie Crawford on the series, told Entertainment Weekly that he’s “had an idea to take the show and turn it into an animated series.” It would involve “taking the old episodes and modernizing them and kind of starting from scratch for the new generation.”

Now a star on Beyond the Gates, James said the fate of the idea is “sitting in Warner Bros.’ hands right now… That plan is still kind of floating around out there, and I’m still trying to pursue it.”

In early June, we learned Tim Curry was set to reprise his role of Lockwood in Stream 2: Sudden Death. However, there were questions about whether he finished filming all of his scenes before his death this month.

There is some excellent news for fans of the cultural icon. Director Michael Leavy told TMZ that Curry had finished filming all of his scenes. It will mark the final movie from the late star.

Leavy couldn’t go into the details of the Stream sequel, except for what was already known. The original movie brought together some of the biggest horror icons, including the late Tony Todd and Danielle Harris. Curry surprised many with his appearance as Lockwood, the mastermind of the live-streamed tournament, marking one of his biggest returns to the screen after his stroke in 2012.

When fans learned that he would return in the sequel, there was a lot of hype. It’s understandable that many feared that either his role wouldn’t be able to happen or would need to be cut short. After all, his role in the sequel was set to be expanded.

However, Leavy shared that not only had all of his scenes been filmed, but that Stream 2: Sudden Death would be dedicated to the late actor. The project will be dedicated to another fallen horror icon, Todd, who died in 2024 after a battle with cancer.

Leavy ended by saying that there are lessons to take from Curry, and that “it’s to enjoy every moment, embrace life, and live it to the fullest, no matter what — and Tim certainly did just that. May he rest in the sweetest peace.”

Curry passed away at the age of 80 in his home. While the cause of death has not yet been released, police do not suspect foul play. The Rocky Horror legend suffered a paralyzing stroke in 2012, but kept his wits about him and joined many of his former castmates at the 50th anniversary celebrations at the end of 2025. He will be missed, but we have one more movie to look forward to.

A release date has not been confirmed yet, but Leavy and his team are targeting a late 2026 or early 2027 release date.

J. Cole’s concert in Sacramento, California, on August 28 was canceled following the tragic death of a member of his touring crew.

The venue, Golden 1 Center, shared the news on social media.

“Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole’s performance at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento tonight, August 27, has been canceled,” the statement read. “Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

The Sacramento Bee reported that the crew member “was driving a semi-truck that veered off southbound I-5 and overturned south of Zamora about 6 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.” He died at the scene. The truck was carrying gear for the Tuesday’s night’s concert at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

“A preliminary investigation found the driver of a Volvo semi-truck towing a trailer traveled off the freeway and onto the right shoulder, officers said. The driver tried to return to the roadway by turning left but lost control of the truck, causing it to overturn,” the outlet further details. “The driver, who was the only person in the truck, was identified by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office as Jarlath Parkinson, 66, of Jackson, South Carolina.”

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to contribute to the crash, but an investigation is ongoing.

“It’s unknown at this time, may have been a distraction or fell asleep. Unfortunately, the solo occupant did not survive the crash,” said Sgt. David Barker of the California Highway Patrol, per CBS News.

The rapper is scheduled for two more shows on Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30, at Oakland Arena. His 73-show “The Fall-Off” world tour began on July 10 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Along with North America, he has performances set in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, with the tour set to end on Dec. 12 in Johannesburg.

“Move On Up” was a popular soul song released by Curtis Mayfield in 1970. It is now a classic that was named one of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” by Rolling Stone magazine. However, it never ended up charting in the United States.

The song was originally nine minutes long on his debut album, Curtis. An edited version of the song made it onto the UK Singles Chart, reaching the No. 12 spot.

“Everything was a song,” Mayfield said in an interview with Richard Williams. “Every conversation, every personal hurt, every observance of people in stress, happiness and love. If you could feel it, I could feel it. And if I could feel it, I could write a song about it. If you have a good imagination, you can go quite far.”

Mayfield also spoke about the way record companies operated when he was starting out in the business. “During that time, record companies were used to taking people off the street and giving them twenty-five bucks for a song,” he said. “Many a hit came off the street like that. But I was too stubborn, too strong-willed, which they didn’t care for. However, I also understood early on that it’s better to have fifty per cent of something than a hundred per cent of nothing. And at least I had it to bargain with.”

He added, “I’m a creative person. And I was just too young. I didn’t have the knowledge. I’m sure that for every dollar I’ve earned, I’ve probably earned someone else ten or twenty dollars.”

“Move On Up” has appeared in many different movies and TV shows over the years, including Bend It Like Beckham, The Bernie Mac Show, and The Wire.

Mayfield released several more popular songs over the years, including “Pusherman,” “Freddie’s Dead,” and “The Makings of You.” In 1998, he was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Mayfield died in 1999 at the age of 57 from complications due to type 2 diabetes.

Kathy Garver shared memories of her Family Affair co-star Anissa Jones on the 50th anniversary of the beloved child star’s death.

Speaking with Remind magazine, Garver, 80, recalled her close bond with her late TV sister despite their 12-year age gap.

“We were good friends,” Garver shared. “She was an especially luminous little spirit. And she was very kind to everybody. She was a kind person. And I related to her very well. And we spent time together.”

“She tried so hard to be herself,” Garver added of Jones. “And I think that the people around her wanted to keep her in a certain way, in a certain image. And I felt that about her. She wanted to emerge and really was held back, I think, in many ways.”

Garver noted that the last time she saw Jones was at her 18th birthday party in March 1976.

“Her mom came up to me and asked me if I would spend some more time with her because she was with the wrong group, and her mom was worried about her going out with this particular group,” Garver recalled. “I would have, except I went back East for three or four months to do the musical My Fair Lady. And then it was during that time that she overdosed.”

Jones died on Aug. 28, 1976, of drug intoxication after a party in Oceanside, California, 10 years after making her debut as Buffy Davis on Family Affair. The series, which aired on CBS from 1966 to 1971, also starred Garver, Brian Keith, Johnny Whitaker and Sebastian Cabot.

At the time of Jones’ death, The Los Angeles Times reported that the young star likely died of “an accidental overdose of prescription sleeping pills,” identified as Seconal. According to the autopsy report, barbiturates, phencyclidine, cocaine, and Quaaludes were also present in Jones’ system after she was found unresponsive by friends.

Family Affair co-star Whitaker, who played Jones’ twin, Jody, on the series, told Fox News Digital he had lost touch with Jones over the years but had attempted to reach out to her shortly before she died after his agent saw her and said she didn’t look well.

“I did try to contact her,” Whitaker, 66, said. “She was my sister.”

The actor, who went on to star in Sigmund and the Sea Monsters after Family Affair, told Woman’s World that Jones’ death became a wake-up call for him.

“I was watching television, and Rona Barrett came on Good Morning America and said, ‘Anissa Jones… Buffy… died yesterday of a drug overdose,’” he recalled. “I immediately got on the phone and called Les Kauffman’s office, who was the director of publicity for Don Fedderson Productions [Family Affair’s production company]. …  I spoke with him and found out that she had passed the day before. It was at that time that I realized that I might need to become a little bit more normal and do some more normal things.”

While speaking at the Midsouth Nostalgia Festival earlier this year, Whitaker said, “Anissa’s death really shook me up.”

The tragedy prompted the actor to step away from show business and go on a Mormon mission to Portugal, per Remind magazine.

Whitaker also said he regretted not being a better friend to Jones after Family Affair, but explained to Woman’s World, “I did not know what she was going through.”

Family Affair is set to celebrate its milestone 60th anniversary in September, with Garver and Whitaker the only surviving cast members.

Fifty years after Jones’ death, Garver shared a Facebook meme that showed Jones, Keith, and Cabot all wearing angel’s wings. “Treasure every minute,” she captioned the August 2026 post.

Drummer Danny Seraphine has a lot to celebrate in his professional life as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a Recording Academy Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. And on Aug. 28, 2026, he celebrates a personal milestone as he turns 78.

Born Aug. 28, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., Seraphine founded the rock band Chicago in Feb. 1967 alongside bandmates Walter Parazaider (woodwind player), Terry Kath (vocalist and guitarist), Lee Loughnane (trumpet player), James Pankow (trombone player), Robert Lamm (keyboard player and vocalist), and Peter Cetera (bassist and vocalist).

Seraphine learned his craft as a teenager while studying under percussionist Bob Tilles at DePaul University.

“He really transformed me into the drummer I am today. I have to give him all the credit, but he really saw the potential of my playing from being just a rock player,” he explained in an interview with Classic Bands. “He transformed me into being a well-rounded musician and a Jazz player.”

In 1977, Chicago’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hit, “If You Leave Me Now,” won a Grammy Award for Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals. The track, which has been featured in countless movies and TV show soundtracks, including Sex and the City, The Flash, The Half of It, and Modern Family, has stood the test of time. In 2020,  The Guardian ranked it No. 73 on its list of “The Greatest UK No 1s: 100–1,” describing the song as “impossibly lush and beautifully written, but its sadness is pervasive and affecting.”

Per Seraphine’s website, Chicago has earned 23 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums. The band has earned five No. 1 albums and 21 Top Ten singles. Rolling Stone reportedly named Seraphine, who is regarded as the “father of jazz rock,” per Jazz Alley, as one of the top 100 drummers of all time.

Gwyneth Paltrow is taking her multi-million-dollar wellness empire somewhere it hasn’t gone before: the dining room.

The founder of lifestyle brand Goop, which once sold out scented candles claimed to replicate her, well, shall we say, nether regions, has expanded beyond eye-catching headlines to build a bona fide culinary brand.

Goop Kitchen already has more than a dozen locations, but none of them are dine-in establishments, as Paltrow said herself on Instagram to hype up her latest venture, “Finally, somewhere to eat Goop Kitchen that isn’t on your couch.”

Given her parents are late television producer Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, and the actress herself is no slacker, having won an Oscar for her role in Shakespeare in Love, it’s no surprise she’s continued expanding Goop’s footprint across California.

The new location is slated for Del Mar, California, a ritzy seaside village known for horse races, pristine beaches, and celebrity mansions, reportedly home to famous faces such as Aaron Rodgers and Bill Gates.

Oh, the irony…

Goop Kitchen will be located inside the upscale One Paseo shopping center within a few miles from the coast, soon to be home to the brand’s only location where diners can sit down and enjoy a meal.

According to One Paseo, the full-service eatery will be “led by a Michelin-experienced culinary team” with a menu “crafted to make you feel good.”

Slated to open August 31, 2026, don’t expect the usual suspects of high-fructose corn syrup and greasy burgers — Goop Kitchen takes its clean-eating ethos seriously. You won’t find any of the following in its dishes:

• Gluten
• Seed oils
• Refined sugars
• Corn
• Processed additives

That’s right — Del Mar may be highfalutin, but you won’t find gluten. While the first San Diego County spot has yet to open, the others are beloved by loyal customers, one of whom shared, “I swear y’all put ‘fairy dust’ in your food and I’m here for it all.”

As for Paltrow, she’s taken a hands-on approach to the new restaurant, revealing to Architectural Digest that she hopes patrons stay a while and feel “at home and comfortable, and that they don’t need to rush” — which sounds about right for San Diego’s laid-back beach towns.

There’s no word on whether there will be any Goop candlelight dinners…

“Where Is the Love?” was released by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway in 1972. It rose all the way to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached No. 1 on the Easy Listening chart and on the R&B chart. It won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

When Flack was asked about the song in a 2013 interview, she said, “’Where Is the Love’ was written by Ralph McDonald, who was in my band, traveling with me around the world, and he came to me and said, ‘Ro, I’ve got a song,’ and he had recorded it with Valerie Simpson, who has an incredible voice. He had her singing ‘Where Is the Love?’ and I thought it was just the nicest, hippest, most wonderful R&B thing that I had heard at that point in my life. And I wanted to do it. And I said, ‘I’ll do it.’ And he said, ‘Who are you going to do it with? It should be a duet.’ I said, ‘Donny.’ He said, ‘Donny?’ I think Ralph really had some other ideas, but you know he acquiesced and Donny, and I went into the studio and did that.”

She continued, “That was another one that happened in like a fifteen- or twenty-minute window because we’re both musicians and if you listen to the songs ‘Where Is the Love’ and ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ I don’t think that they sound like we studied them.” She added, “On ‘Where Is the Love’ we just sang it down, two or three times and got it. The same thing with ‘You’ve Got a Friend.'”

This isn’t the only song that Flack and Hathaway teamed up to sing. They also released a cover of “You’ve Got a Friend” together and “The Closer I Get to You.” Separately, they had plenty of hits as well.

Flack released “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” and “Killing Me Softly with His Song.” In 2009, she was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.

Hathaway released “This Christmas” and “Someday We’ll All Be Free.” He was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. He also posthumously received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hathaway died in 1979 at the age of 33. Flack died in 2025 at the age of 88.

Check your pantry: A beloved mini donut snack is being pulled from shelves due to an allergen labeling error.

The Better Bakehouse Snack Company announced on Aug. 24 that it is recalling certain lots of Donutful Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Cake Donuts after discovering that the product may contain milk that isn’t listed on the label.

The recall is limited to specific lots manufactured and distributed in March 2026. One allergic reaction has been reported in connection with the recalled product. The individual has fully recovered, according to the company.

The recalled donuts, which come in a 7.05-ounce carton containing five 1.41-ounce pouches, or 10 mini donuts total. Only one specific lot is impacted: Lot 26078, with a best-if-used-by date of 9/15/2026. The affected product was manufactured and distributed in March 2026, reaching retailers nationwide as well as Amazon.

The FDA warns that people with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.

Consumers who have the affected snack cakes should not eat them. They can dispose of the product and obtain a refund from their point of purchase with a receipt, or return the product to the retailer for a refund.

The company says its contract manufacturer has identified the cause of the mislabeling issue and taken corrective measures. The Better Bakehouse Snack Company is also working with retailers to remove any remaining affected products from the marketplace.

The forces of heavy metal are colliding this fall, as hard rock vets Corrosion of Conformity and reunited Texas metal band The Sword have announced a U.S. co-headlining tour, with stoner-doom power trio Hippie Death Cult to open throughout.

“Well, well, well… to all the free thinkers and beer drinkers, the Corrosion train won’t stop,” C.O.C.’s Pepper Keenan said of the forthcoming tour. “Everywhere all the time! Gonna be ripping with The Sword and Hippie Death Cult. See ya on the horizon. Let’s f—ing go!”

Announced this week, the headliners are performing a two-week run kicking off Nov. 2 in Buffalo, New York, and wrapping up Nov. 19 in Pensacola, Florida. The tour features 13 shared shows, plus one additional festival appearance by C.O.C., performed solo.

“We are beyond stoked to announce we’re hitting the road in November with absolute legends @coccabal & @theswordofficial!!” C.O.C. wrote on Instagram alongside a post with tour details. “This run will directly follow our current North American dates, as well as our full month tour in Europe/U.K. prior. What a way to cap off the year.”

Formed in June 1982, the Raleigh, North Carolina, band is renowned for their sonic shapeshifting and celebrated as pioneers of bridging hardcore punk, heavy metal, and Southern sludge. Guitarist Woody Weatherman remains the only constant member across a career spanning more than four decades and landmark records including 1991’s Blind, 1994’s Deliverance, and 1996’s Wiseblood.

Following an eight-year gap between studio albums since 2018’s No Cross No Crown, C.O.C. released their 11th studio project, a double album called Good God / Baad Man in April 2026. It’s been described as a sweeping, psychedelic love letter to rock and roll with Black Sabbath-inspired riffs, punk aggression, desert rock soundscapes, and bluesy stoner grooves.

Meanwhile, The Sword, who are widely celebrated for revitalizing the stoner rock and doom metal genres, also with Sabbath-tinged riffs, and fantasy storytelling, was formed in 2003 by vocalist and guitarist J.D. Cronise. After generating massive buzz at Austin’s SXSW festival in 2004, they released 2006’s Age of Winters, which became a retro-metal touchstone fueled by the track “Freya,” later featured in Guitar Hero II.

Despite opening for Metallica on global arena tours and finding chart success with 2012’s Apocryphon, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200, Cronise announced the band’s breakup in October 2022, stating that he’d creatively accomplished everything he set out to do. That hiatus lasted only about two years, though.

In June 2024, The Sword announced a reunion performance at Austin’s Levitation Festival, and by February 2025, Cronise confirmed the band was officially back.

“We know there’s demand,” Cronise told Revolver about the band’s return. “It’s not a matter of that. … The thing is … nobody really likes what they’re doing more than [being in] The Sword. … I’d much rather go on tour and record music than work at some regular nine-to-five.”

Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-Fla.) came for Jelly Roll after the country star mocked President Donald Trump during his stint as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!—and Patronis says the singer is no longer welcome in his Florida Panhandle district.

While hosting the show, Jelly Roll joked about his dramatic weight loss by comparing the 300 pounds he had lost to “an entire Donald Trump.”

“And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing,” Jelly Roll said. He also poked fun at Trump’s weight with a joke about physical fitness.

The comments quickly drew backlash from Trump allies, including Patronis, who represents Florida’s 1st Congressional District.

“[Jelly Roll] is 100% not welcomed to Florida’s panhandle,” Patronis wrote on X. “I don’t even want to see his bus on I-10.”

Patronis also questioned Jelly Roll’s country-music credentials, calling him “the token ‘country’ star the libs in California are allowed to enjoy” and adding, “He ain’t country, never was.”

“Take the TDS elsewhere, loser,” Patronis added, referring to “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Jelly Roll addressed the backlash during his final Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue, pushing back against assumptions about his political beliefs.

The singer joked that he never expected to get into more trouble with Trump than Rosie O’Donnell, who has publicly feuded with the president for years.

“Any U.S. president should be able to handle a few jokes, right?” Jelly Roll said.

He also addressed criticism that appearing on Kimmel’s show meant he had suddenly become a liberal voice.

“It is funny that before this week, everybody thought I was MAGA, and now they think I’m some sort of liberal snowflake,” he said. “I guess I’m just not used to people projecting their beliefs onto me.”

Jelly Roll pointed out that his previous praise of Trump’s plan to host a UFC event on the White House South Lawn did not mean he supported everything the administration does.

“Just because I watched a fight on TV doesn’t mean I support everything this administration does,” he said. “Just like hosting Jimmy Kimmel’s show doesn’t mean I have all of Jimmy Kimmel’s politics.”

The singer described himself as politically “pretty down the middle,” adding that he is a Christian, country singer, farmer and bow hunter.

He said he has spent much of the past several months being judged based on assumptions about his political beliefs.

“For the last six months, I’ve watched people decide who I am, what I am, what I believe, what I support, and what I don’t support,” Jelly Roll said. “And I felt that even more this week, just because I told a couple of jokes.”

Jelly Roll said he had spent his career trying not to belong to a political party and noted that, until recently, he had not even been able to vote.

“I am a man of second chances,” he said, pointing to the opportunity he was given after his criminal conviction. “This country gave me room and a chance to become something more than the biggest and worst mistake I ever made.”

He also pushed back on the idea that his jokes or interactions with political figures should be interpreted as endorsements.

“A joke is not a political point of view,” Jelly Roll said.

He closed by calling for Americans to look beyond their political differences.

“I want us to remember that the person across the street from us is a human being before they’re a voter,” he said.

The job is open to nontraditional applicants and creators, and speaking additional languages is a plus. An interest in entrepreneurship, brand-building or product creation is also a bonus.

As White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt steps down from her post to spend more time with her growing family, news broke that the mother of two could become a guest host on The View. 

While Leavitt was invited to join the cast, it was as a guest—and not as a host. After The Daily Mail initially reported that sources had revealed the former Trump administration member was in secret talks with ABC to join Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, another source (from the network) told CNN that the invitation was extended to Leavitt only as a guest. 

Things could get tense if Leavitt appears on The View. But really, when don’t they?

In 2025, Goldberg slammed the then-Press Secretary’s comments about “wokeness,” saying on The View, “She said there will be no wokeness here. Let me explain something to you: because without that wokeness, you might not have that job. Because women were not invited to that table. Women were not invited to many tables in this nation.”

Goldberg continued, “The reason we fought and busted our behinds to make sure that you didn’t have to worry about this…The wokeness was put into place for a reason. Because black people couldn’t get into colleges. Because women could not get into the colleges they wanted to go to. This is all women.”

The View host added, “Women were not invited to this party. It was a man’s world, and we busted our a**es to make sure that this was a person’s world. So please stop using that phrase. Because you don’t understand what you’re saying.”

At age 27, Leavitt became the youngest person in U.S. history to serve as White House Press Secretary. On August 12, Donald Trump announced that she would leave her job, saying on social media, “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!”

Leavitt has two children with her husband, Nicholas Riccio: a two-year-old son, Niko, and an infant, Vivi (born May 1, 2026). 

She spoke to the press corps on her last day at work, sharing, “It’s very bittersweet. I’ll miss you guys. I know that’s probably not something anyone would expect me to say, but obviously it’s been great working with all of you.” When asked if she has any advice for the next Press Secretary, Leavitt answered, I think it’s most important in this job to understand that President Trump is his own best spokesperson.”

Along with a possible guest appearance on The View and, of course, spending time with her family, Leavitt recently told reporters that she plans to work for super PAC MAGA Inc. this fall.
