Investing in plants is one of the best ways to bring some life into your space. Whether you're a novice plant owner or are looking to add to your robust collection, it's important that you first find a proper home for your greenery. Luckily, retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon are selling gorgeous plant stands at incredible discounts. In fact, the Costway 6-Tier Metal Plant Stand is on sale at Target for 50% off right now.

The stand originally cost $120, but has been reduced to $60. It's made of a heavy-duty curved steel frame that's sprayed with a rust-resistant finish, so you can place it indoors or outdoors. The piece features seven shelves that you can place items on, with each shelf having the ability to support up to 44 pounds. There are five rectangle shelves for bigger plants, and two smaller circular shelves for smaller plants, like succulents

The half moon-shaped plant stand is 13.5 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 61 inches tall, so make sure to take those measurements into account when purchasing it for your home. You can install the arc-shaped shelves in two different ways, to the left or to the right, depending on which fits best in your space. You will have to assemble the piece yourself, but shoppers said that it's "easy" to put together and "very sturdy" overall.

What we especially love about this stand is that it consists of an additional hook, which is perfect for small potted plants, and can hold up to 11 pounds. The stand is equipped with non-slip pads to protect your flooring upon movement. The coating is also smooth and waterproof, making the shelves very easy to clean — just wipe them with a soft, damp cloth. There's even a built-in anti-toppling device that prevents it from toppling over, so you can even place items beyond plants on it (picture frames, home decor, books, etc.).

Shoppers described this stand as the "perfect accent piece," adding that it's  "space-saver with charm" and a "game-changer" for plant owners. It "fits a lot of plants without taking up much space," another reviewer wrote. Others said the piece is "beautiful" and "adds elegance" to any room.

Madonna Commandeers Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella Set With Rambling Speech Amid Surprise Performance

Sat, 04/18/2026 - 2:03am

Madonna thrilled the Coachella 2026 audience as Sabrina Carpenter’s surprise guest, though her performance got a bit off topic at one point.

As Carpenter’s Friday, April 17, set neared its conclusion, Madonna, 67, joined her on the main stage for a duet of the pop icon’s 1990 hit “Vogue” and the live debut of their new collaboration from Madonna’s upcoming Confessions: II album, “Bring Your Love.”

The pair then took a break from singing, with Madonna thanking Carpenter, 26, for inviting her to perform at Coachella with her.

“You can have whatever you want,” Carpenter said, to which Madonna replied, “Do you really mean that?”

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

After joking about taking Carpenter’s earrings, Madonna began an impromptu speech, telling the audience, “I have a few things I wanna get off my chest.”

Madonna mentioned that she appeared alongside Carpenter 20 years after she performed her 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor, at Coachella, which she recalled was “such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later.” Remarking how she wore the same jacket, corset and boots from her 2006 festival appearance, she called her return a “full-circle moment” and “very meaningful for me.”

Madonna then ventured into seemingly unrelated territory.

“Also I wanna point out that it is the new moon of Taurus,” she told the crowd, with Carpenter chiming in, “She’s pointing to me because I’m a Taurus. Just so you guys know, in case you were confused at home.”

After noting that there are currently “seven planets lined up in Aries,” Madonna offered to educate festivalgoers with a “quick course in astrology.”

“We need to work on our communication skills,” she said. “We all think we’re talking to each other on the phone, but we’re not really communicating, so we need to work on that.”

“The other thing we need to do is to avoid confrontations,” she continued. “Because Aries is ruled by the planetMars. Mars is the planet of war. So, in all circumstances for the rest of the month, let’s try to get along, OK? Let’s try to be together. Let’s try to avoid disagreements, and to that point, the great thing about music is that it brings people together.”

Madonna added that music is “the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their shit down and just everybody have a good time together,” saying that she was “thrilled to be a part of that healing experience [of] bringing people together.”

Madonna subsequently sang a few lyrics from her 2005 song “Get Together” to further emphasize her message: “Can we get together? / I really, I really wanna be with you / Come on, check it out with me / I hope you, I hope you feel the same way too.”

As a final remark, Madonna quipped that her Coachella performance with Carpenter marked “the first time I’ve ever performed with someone who’s shorter than me, so thank you for giving me that experience.”

Carpenter jokingly responded, “Amen.” Then the duo launched into a duet of the 1989 hit “Like a Prayer” before Madonna left the stage and Carpenter finished her set solo.

Iconic ’70s Rock Band Shares Exclusive Photos Amid 2026 Tour

Sat, 04/18/2026 - 12:33am

A legendary music powerhouse from the 1970s is giving the public a glimpse of their journey as Foreigner shares exclusive snaps from the past.

Ahead of their highly anticipated 2026 tour, the British American rock band takes fans on a trip down memory lane by offering a nostalgic look into their earlier career.

In an Instagram post, the band, consisting of the original lineup led by frontman Lou Gramm, guitarist Mick Jones, bassist Ed Gagliardi and Rick Wills, drummer Dennis Elliott, keyboardist Al Greenwood and multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald, posted never-before-seen photos taken by a photographer who is known primarily for his stunning shots of rock musicians.

“We're back with more exclusive images from the Neal Preston archive! This week, we're sharing more iconic shots of the band in action from back in the day. With @lougrammgram joining the band for the next few shows, it felt like the perfect time to highlight some photos of him! To access more photos from the Neal Preston collection, visit our fan club at by clicking the link in our bio,” the caption reads.

Among the photos are moments that capture the unique chemistry and electric energy of Gramm and Jones on stage, while another snap highlights the frontman’s charm as he commanded the crowd with his timeless hits.

The comment section instantly lit up with excitement and nostalgia as fans reminisced about the band’s golden years.

“Awesome time the 70s and 80s with the best music ever,” one wrote.

“Beautiful shots! I love the last photo, the black and white photo of Lou!” another added.

A follower also remarked, saying, “Back in time.”

With the success of their decades-long career, Foreigner has released a string of notable tracks that are considered timeless to this day. This includes “Waiting For a Girl Like You” and the power ballad "I Want to Know What Love Is,” which became No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After five decades, the band is still going strong, which prompted Jones to express his pride, gratitude and amazement at the band’s long-lasting success.

“Fifty years is a long time,” he said, as cited by Billboard, adding “and I am certainly proud of the fact. I did not have any idea that Foreigner would have such a long life…. The life expectations of band was pretty low when we started. So what’s happened has been unbelievable, really.”

To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the band is booked and busy for a string of shows for their global tour.

Starting the tour is the North American leg, which kicked off on March 25 in Idaho, followed by a three-night run in Washington, before moving to Florida this April.

While it covers major cities like Charlotte, Bristow, Detroit and Toronto among others, the North American leg will conclude in November in Reno, Nevada.

In between the tour, the band will head overseas for a European run in July with stops in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria.

World Market's Antique-Inspired Desk Is Sleek, Elegant and Extremely Versatile

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 11:55pm

The transition toward remote work and flexible schedules has fundamentally changed how we view our home environments. A dedicated workspace is no longer just a luxury; it has become a vital component of a functional household. However, the challenge for many is finding a way to integrate a professional setup into their existing decor without making the room feel like a sterile corporate cubicle. The modern home office requires a thoughtful balance between ergonomic utility and intentional design, ensuring that the furniture we choose inspires creativity rather than just facilitating tasks.

Interior design trends are increasingly leaning toward pieces that carry a sense of history and character. Traditional styles that emphasize clean lines and portability are seeing a massive resurgence as people seek to create work-from-anywhere vibes that feel grounded and permanent. Using natural textures and warm wood tones can significantly reduce the tech-heavy feel of a room, softening the impact of monitors and cables. By selecting furniture that prioritizes craftsmanship and timeless silhouettes, you can create an environment that feels both professional during the day and cozy in the evening.

Amazon’s 'Dainty' Birth Flower Ring Is an 'Expensive-Looking' Mother’s Day Gift for Under $15

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 11:30pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Shopping for Mother’s Day tends to follow a familiar pattern — flowers, a candle, slippers, maybe a cozy robe or a box of chocolates. They’re classics for a reason, and they’ll definitely get used, but they don’t always feel especially personal. If you’re looking for something that she can wear and enjoy for years to come, jewelry is usually the safest bet.

But instead of going the expected route, the Ladygd Birth Flower Ring at Amazon offers a more thoughtful twist. Priced at just $13, it’s a simple yet meaningful piece that feels far more personal than your standard gift. Each ring is designed around a specific birth month flower, adding a layer of symbolism that turns it into more than just an accessory — it becomes something tied to her story or her family.

This ring leans into a refined, sculptural take on everyday jewelry — simple at first glance, but full of small, intentional details up close. The 14-karat gold-plated over brass band is thin and smoothly polished, giving it that light, barely-there feel on the finger, but it’s anchored by a raised floral centerpiece that adds just enough dimension to make it stand out.

Available in all of the 12 birth month flowers, each bloom is not flat or perfectly symmetrical. Instead, the petals have a slightly organic, almost hand-formed look, with soft ripples and uneven edges that mimic the natural movement of real buds.

There’s a mix of finishes within each design that gives it depth. The outer petals are mostly high-shine and reflective, while the inner details vary depending on the flower — some feature fine etched lines radiating from the center, while others highlight more dimensional elements like pistils, disk florets, or clustered berry centers. A few designs incorporate subtle recessed areas or darker tones to create contrast, giving each ring its own focal point without the need for added stones.

Related: Macy’s $21 Gold-Plated Initial Necklace Adds a 'Beautiful' Personalized Touch to Any Outfit

Available in sizes 5 through 9, the ring offers a straightforward fit that works for most. From there, the real personalization comes in choosing the birth flower itself. You can keep it classic by selecting the recipient’s birth month, or make it more meaningful by choosing the birth flowers of her children, partner, a family member, or even her wedding month. This choice opens the door to a more thoughtful, story-driven gift — one that feels intentionally chosen.

Jewelry lovers adding to their own collections, as well as those gifting it, praised this “very pretty” and “delicate” ring in the reviews section. One shopper called the design “perfectly sized, dainty, and expensive looking,” adding that they’ve worn it “while exercising, showering, and even while putting on lotion,” and that “it hasn't tarnished or become dingy in the slightest.”

If you’re looking to switch things up this Mother’s Day, the Ladygd Birth Flower Ring is an easy way to give something that feels a little more considered than the usual go-to gifts. Pick this beautiful piece up for $13 at Amazon today and stay ahead of the holiday rush.

Grammy-Winning Singer Sells $6.8 Million Home After Canceling 2026 Tour

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 11:07pm

A major life shift is unfolding for Grammy-winning pop star Meghan Trainor, who has sold her Los Angeles mansion for $6,835,000 on the same day she announced the cancellation of her 2026 Get In Girl tour.

The quick sale, which closed just over a week after the property hit the market, comes as the singer steps back from touring to focus on her growing family.

The 32-year-old artist confirmed the tour cancellation directly to fans, writing, "After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I've made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour."

US singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor attends the series premere of Peacock's "The Paper" at Harmony Gold theater in Los Angeles.

The announcement followed a wave of personal changes, including welcoming a new baby and prioritizing time at home.

Trainor explained the decision further, saying, "Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take right now."

She added that she needs to be “home and present” for her loved ones.

According to TMZ, the newly sold Encino estate reflects the singer’s high-profile lifestyle over the past few years. The sprawling property spans around 14,164 square feet on 1.09 acres, featuring seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. It includes luxury amenities such as a pool with a waterslide, a professional recording studio, a mirror-lined gym and even a full-size basketball court.

Trainor originally purchased the home in 2020 for $6.6 million from rapper Doug Jordan, meaning the recent sale brought only a modest profit. Despite that, the quick turnaround highlights a decisive move during a period of transition.

The property also carries a celebrity history, previously owned by Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green and featured on Bravo’s “Flipping Out.”

The mansion sale comes as Trainor shifts focus toward family life with her husband, Daryl Sabara, and their three young children. The couple recently welcomed their daughter, Mikey Moon, via surrogate, joining sons Riley and Barry.

Trainor acknowledged that stepping away from touring may disappoint fans, writing, "I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down." Still, she emphasized that the decision is necessary, adding, "This is the right decision for my family and me right now."

She reassured supporters that her break is temporary, promising, "I will be back soon and I can't wait for you to hear this new record."

Despite canceling the tour, Trainor is still set to release her seventh studio album, Toy With Me, on April 24.

View this post on Instagram

Shortly after canceling the tour, she shared a lighthearted moment online, posting a video singing with her son Barry, showing a softer, more personal side of her current life.

1987 Iconic Pop Duet Hit No. 1 39 Years Ago Today

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 11:00pm

Aretha Franklin and George Michael's duet "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" hit No. 1 on the charts 39 years ago today!

On April 18, 1987, the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after steadily climbing the charts after its release in January 1987, staying there for two consecutive weeks.

The song marked Franklin's first No. 1 hit in nearly 20 years, breaking the record for the longest gap between No. 1 songs. It would also mark the iconic singer's second and last number one single in the United States.

In 1984, three years before the song's release, Michael was approached to write and produce a song for Franklin. However, his busy schedule with Wham! made it impossible at the time.

Michael first offered the song to Michael Jackson and then to Stevie Wonder, as he was nervous to team up with Franklin—who was one of his idols.

Nevertheless, the song ended up in Franklin's hands, and the duo recorded it over two days at a studio in Detroit in May 1986.

RELATED: 1964 Career-Defining Hit Was Recorded 62 Years Ago Today

The song gave Michael his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. As for Franklin, in 2018, Billboard listed the song as Franklin's all-time biggest Hot 100 single.

Franklin and Michael famously performed "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" live together on August 29, 1988, at the Auburn Hills arena in Detroit during Michael’s Faith tour.

Following Michael's death at age 53 in December 2016, Franklin reflected on the lasting impact of recording "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)."

"The first time I heard George was with Wham! and I liked it then. He had a very unique sound, very different from anything that was out there," she told Entertainment Weekly in January 2017. "When Clive [Davis, Franklin’s producer and label boss] suggested we get together for 'I Knew You Were Waiting,' I was all ready."

"It reminded me of [working with producer] Jerry Wexler," she continued. "We’d go in the studio and cut songs. If we were happy with what we recorded, Jerry would say, 'Let’s wait until tomorrow. If we feel the same way [then] that we do now, maybe we have a hit.' 'I Knew You Were Waiting' had that. Musically, it does not grow old."

Ella Langley’s Ex-Boyfriend Confirms They Dated After Keeping Relationship Private

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 10:48pm

Ella Langley and John Sansone were indeed dating when fans speculated as much. Now, the Farmer Wants a Wife alum is finally speaking out about their relationship.

Sansone, 26, confirmed his rumored romance with Langley, also 26, for the first time during a Thursday, April 16, interview with Taste of Country.

When the interviewer inquired about whether he is a fan of Langley’s music, Sansone replied, “Why don’t you just ask it, Adison? Go ahead and ask.”

The journalist took the line of questioning one step further by asking whether Sansone and Langley are “friends.” Rather than play coy, he confirmed that the pair “dated for a couple of months,” though they have since parted ways.

Sansone went on to reveal that he slid into Langley’s DMs on TikTok, which sparked their brief romance.

“I don’t remember [what I wrote]. Obviously something creative,” he said. “It wouldn’t just be ‘hi.’ I don’t know.”

Langley and Sansone found themselves at the center of dating rumors in late 2025 after fans spotted social media clues that the two were spending time together. Langley’s dog was in one of Sansone’s Instagram posts, while the duo also shot guns together in one of her November 2025 uploads.

Sansone previously starred on season 3 of Farmer Wants a Wife. During the finale, which aired in May 2025, he chose Claire Dirette as his winner. However, less than three months later, he announced their breakup via Instagram, claiming in a since-deleted August 2025 post that it “was a mutual decision based on private challenges.”

As for Langley, she has kept her dating life private since she was thrust into the spotlight. She was linked to Riley Green after their 2024 duet “You Look Like You Love Me” became a massive hit. That September, she addressed the speculation about their relationship.

“Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” she told Taste of Country at the time. “He was playing all the same bars I went to, and I played the same bars as him. It’s cool to see Alabama people winning!”

“We’re not dating,” she added. “We’re just good friends.”

In December 2024, Green, 37, reiterated that his dynamic with Langley was strictly platonic.

“Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he joked on the "Viall Files" podcast. “When we first started having the success we did with that song, I kind of told Ella, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but I mean, you don’t really gotta play into it or not play into it.’”

More recently, Langley has been linked to Tucker Wetmore, though neither has addressed the dating rumors.

Earlier this month, Langley opened up about struggling with her love life due to her focus on her music career.

“Obviously, me being 26 and not married, I’ve been dating,” she explained during an appearance on the “This Past Weekend W/ Theo Von” podcast. “I’ve been trying to figure that portion of my life out too, which is complicated when you have pretty much given your everything to this one thing.”

’90s Country Music Legend Pays Tribute to Beloved Colleague After His Death

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 10:23pm

The country music world is grieving the loss of one of its most important voices. Don Schlitz, the award-winning songwriter behind some of the biggest hits in country history, has died at the age of 73. He passed away on April 16, 2026, at a hospital in Nashville after a sudden illness.

Schlitz was known for writing songs that touched millions. His music helped shape the careers of major stars and earned him top honors, including Grammy Awards and multiple Hall of Fame inductions. Fans and fellow artists are now remembering not just his songs, but the kind person behind them.

On social media, Vince Gill shared an emotional tribute, posting photos of the two together.

"Vince and Don have had a lifelong friendship of sharing the stage, singing songs, and swapping stories. We have the legacy of his lyrics and the heartbreak of his loss,” his caption read.

Gill and Schlitz were close friends for nearly four decades. They performed together, wrote songs and spent quiet moments reflecting on music and life. Their bond became a strong part of Nashville’s music community.

Schlitz’s career began with a song that would change everything, “The Gambler,” made famous by Kenny Rogers. It became a massive hit and won a Grammy for Best Country Song in 1978. The song’s famous line, “You’ve got to know when to hold ’em / Know when to fold ’em,” is still recognized today.

Over the years, Schlitz wrote more than 20 No. 1 songs. His hits include “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis and “When You Say Nothing at All,” recorded by Keith Whitley and later by Alison Krauss. His songs were also recorded by artists like The Judds, Tanya Tucker and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

His work earned him multiple awards. He won Grammy Awards, Country Music Association honors, and Academy of Country Music awards. Beyond that, he received four ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year titles, proof of how respected he was in the industry.

Schlitz’s friendship with Vince Gill showed another side of the songwriter. The two often shared the stage, performing classics like “The Gambler” and “When You Say Nothing at All.” They also co-wrote songs together, including “You Just Get One” and “Prove Me Wrong.”

In 2022, Gill inducted Schlitz into the Grand Ole Opry, surprising him with the invitation earlier that year. During the ceremony, they joked and shared memories, showing their strong bond. Gill even called him “buddy” on stage, a simple word that meant a lot.

Outside of music, Schlitz was known for helping others. He spent nearly 20 years supporting a Nashville nonprofit that serves the homeless. He performed for them, celebrated birthdays, and encouraged people in recovery programs.

Even after his passing, Don Schlitz’s music will continue to live on, in songs, in stories and in the hearts of those who listened.

Formed in 1976 in Crawley, West Sussex, The Cure, whose original lineup includes Robert Smith on vocals and guitar, Michael Dempsey on bass and Lol Tolhurst on drums, later adding Porl Thompson on guitar, are considered pioneers of gothic rock and alternative rock music.

Following their success in the ‘80s and ‘90s, the band’s lineup changes have happened across decades, with members coming and going. This includes the departure of longtime keyboardist Roger O’Donnell and late guitarist Perry Bamonte.

Currently, The Cure’s lineup comprises Smith, Simon Gallup, Roger O’Donnell, Jason Cooper and Reeves Gabrels, making the frontman the only constant original member.

When the warm weather arrives, outdoor spaces get a promotion. Your patio isn’t just a place for plants anymore — it’s your morning coffee spot, your afternoon scrolling zone, your weekend hangout hub, and, if you accessorize it right, your escape from life. The only problem? Not all outdoor seating is built for the kind of lounging you think you’re about to do. What you actually need is something designed for stretching out and staying put.

That’s where the Costway Outdoor Patio Chaise Lounge Chair Set at Target comes in. Now down 64% to $146 from its original $410 price tag, it instantly changes the way you use your outdoor space. Instead of perching, you’re reclining. Instead of just stepping outside for a bit of fresh air, you may find yourself staying out there for hours.

Whether it becomes your go-to sunbathing spot, your weekend reading nook, or your official “do not disturb” zone, this set makes your backyard feel more resort-like. Each chaise features a wide backrest with five adjustable positions, letting you easily shift from upright lounging to lying completely flat, using a simple pole-and-lock system.

The full-length frame measures about 75.5 inches long and 26 inches wide, giving you plenty of room to stretch out, while the height can be adjusted between 24.5 and 40.5 inches depending on your preferred angle. The design is finished with ergonomic, curved armrests designed to support your arms while you relax.

Each chaise is constructed with breathable, easy-to-clean, quick-drying fabric paired with a heavy-duty powder-coated steel frame built to hold up over time. Reinforced support bars allow a single chair to handle up to 350 pounds, while thick legs and anti-skid pads help keep everything stable on different surfaces.

Shoppers say the lightweight design makes these lounge chairs “easy to move around” from poolside to patio or even indoors if needed. The set also comes with straightforward assembly instructions and all necessary hardware, so you can get set up quickly and use them right away.

George Harrison Once Stayed at This Illinois Home—Now It Can Be Yours

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 9:48pm

Before the Beatles were selling out stadiums, guitarist George Harrison visited his sister in Benton, Illinois, in September 1963. He stayed with her in her 5-bedroom bungalow. It’s now listed for sale for $105,000.

Beatles fans are afraid this special home at 113 McCann Street will be torn down by new owners.

Grady Adams, the property’s current owner, was renting it out as apartments, but he has decided to sell. “Of course, if it doesn’t get demo’d, I would prefer that,” Adams told The Associated Press (AP)

But this isn’t the first time the house has been in jeopardy.

In 1995, a state agency purchased the house with plans to use the land for parking.

Beatles fan, author and documentarian, Robert Bartel, brought attention to the demolition. With the help of other enthusiasts, including Harrison’s sister, Louise Harrison Caldwell, they saved the home.

Local investors acquired the land and opened the well-named Hard Day’s Nite Bed and Breakfast. It featured Beatles collectibles, including the couch that Harrison used when he played his guitar. The bed-and-breakfast eventually closed in 2010.

For now, the future of the home is uncertain.

According to the AP, Brian Calcaterra, Benton’s director of economic development, proposed that the city draft an ordinance to prevent new owners from demolishing the home. Mayor Lee Messersmith said the city council has not reviewed the subject.

While the property has been saved once, Benton business owner and historian, Robert Rea, isn’t sure the results will be the same this time around.

“When we did this (in 1995), the world went crazy because they thought, ‘George is going to come, he’s going to save the house,’” Rea told the AP. “And I’m just being honest with you, maybe I’m missing it or something, but that momentum is not here.”

While in Benton back in 1963, George Harrison bought the same guitar as bandmate John Lennon, a Rickenbacker 425. He used it to record “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” This guitar sold at auction for $675,000 in 2014.

Just a few months after Harrison’s trip to Southern Illinois, he performed with the rest of the Fab Four on “The Ed Sullivan Show” to a whopping 73 million viewers. This was the Beatles’ U.S. debut and the beginning of Beatlemania.

Harrison, who died in 2001, never did return to Benton, but his time there was one of his last moments of anonymity.

1995 Hit Film Ranked the 'Greatest Heist Thriller' of All Time

Fri, 04/17/2026 - 9:34pm

While not every heist movie is a hit, there are plenty of thrilling films from the genre that are beloved and timeless. Collider recently shared a list of the "10 greatest heist thrillers of all time," which included hits like The Killing from 1956, 1992's Reservoir Dogs, The Usual Suspects from 1995, and 1975's Dog Day Afternoon.

Heat, released in 1995, secured the top spot on Collider's list, which was published on April 11. According to the publication, Heat should be recognized as the best heist thriller because it has interesting characters, incredible action-packed scenes, and a well-written script.

Michael Mann, who wrote and directed the film, discussed making Heat following a showing of the 1995 movie at TIFF in 2015. He said that he always wanted Al Pacinoto play Vincent Hanna, Jon Voight for the role of Nate, and Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley.

In addition, Mann said that the cast and crew did their research regarding Los Angeles crime before the film's production. He said that he spent time with a Los Angeles Police Department commander for about nine months to understand what a LAPD Robbery Homicide Detective, like Vincent, would go through.

"Every Friday and Saturday night, I'd go hang out with him and we would just answer radio calls about 9:00 p.m. to like 2:00 in the morning on Friday or Saturday night, just rolling through the city on whatever was happening," shared Mann while speaking before an audience.

According to Mann, Ashley Judd, who played Charlene Shiherlis, also had conversations with former sex workers before filming Heat.

"Ashley Judd talking to middle-aged real estate women who are very respectable, who 15 years earlier had been turning tricks," said the filmmaker. "On Ventura Boulevard because they had three kids and their husbands were in prison."

In addition, the actors who played members of Neil's crew "actually cased a bank" to make the situation more real.
